I have quite a few bookmarks on ao3 for Hamilton fics but I’ll highlight some that are complete(!!) and have stuck with me for whatever reason

so late to this, but! for the ask game!! 5, 13 (bc i need to read more fics in both hamilton and jcs lmao), and 16!

5. i think my writing has improved a lot since i first posted mine to subdue. i think i've grown more confident with knowing what i want to say and how i want to say it. i might be wrong, but i think i've developed a style that is consistent which i'm very proud of. i basically improved on the smoothness of writing, too, i think (i could be so wrong). i basically improved all of this just by working nonstop, and writing every chance i get. i do want to write different things every now and again. i feel like my works can get repetitive very quickly, and often that's what stops me from posting if i think a fic is too similar to something i've already done, or someone else has written something under the same premise. so that's kind of what i'm working on. i want to be able to bring something fresh and unique, so i'm trying to work on expanding my vocabulary a bit more and think of new ideas.

13. oooo this is so good. first and foremost i will say, i believe fic writers (And fan artists naturally) are what keep fandoms and my fixations on them alive, so these fics have greatly impacted me in that way, and the excellence of them inspires me to keep writing and keep going. for hamilton, i have read the fics for years. i've been on ao3, fanfiction.net, and wattpad since practically the beginning. i remember when there was <100 posted on ao3. like it goes so far back. sons of libertea by fihli was my favorite fic when i was thirteen and what really got me into reading hardcore for hamilton. i haven't read it in a long time so i don't know if it holds up, but i'm sure it does. so that one is really iconic for me, and i know it was really popular at the time. i've talked about it before but the monticello furlough was a game changer for me. anything by holograms is brilliant and i die every time. and it's not just bc y'all are my pallys and kiddos, but @youreverydaydemikid @cecescomposition @fireballdance, the fics y'all write literally have me dropping whatever i'm doing to read what you post. it's so so good. like it's genuinely consistently good work that i squeal over every time. also @binch-i-might-be is an absolute icon that has kept the fandom fed for a good few years. there have also been numerous fanfics that have been deleted over the years that i adored, so we will have a moment of silence for them, but alas, it's the price i have to pay for being in a fandom that became "cringe culture" and made everyone delete their work even if it was really good.

NOW FOR JCS. it is such a small fandom, but that does not mean there is any lack of wonderful content. OBVIOUSLY, i will start by recommending anything by @solarflicker. their work is genuinely jaw dropping and i die every time. their characterizations are so good, and their stories are so well written. i could not recommend them enough. if i had to choose one, though, it would have to be judecca. like that one is one i reread practically every week. but as i said, all of them are so good. you would be doing yourself a disfavor by skipping any of them. @ohsoldier is so so good too. their good omens au is chef's kiss. picking up the palm fronds by @hobgoblinns is also very very good. beserk's jcs fics are also golden little au's that are so so good!! they have like a reincarnation au that i adore. another good reincarnation au that i love is that's what you had (but you don't have it anymore) by zartbitterpoetin. this one is so unique and well written. like it's so creativeeee. those are all a bit angsty BUT there's a really cute coffee shop fic (i think it has smut in it so be careful youngins) but it's the fic that all the people not in the fandom find and it blows their minds that people ship jesus/judas lmaooo. but it's called i'm falling for brew by framblebee. NOW I'VE RAMBLED ON THIS QUESTION FOR FAR TOO LONG SO I'LL LEAVE YOU WITH ONE MORE. you have to have an account to view it, but it is the 2012 revival fic (once again i think it had a tad bit of smut so watch for that) but so tonight that i might see by altzfic is amazing. like honestly there are so many good fics out there. it's crazy how talented people are in both of these fandoms. i could go on for ages, but i will end the rant here.

(i could genuinely make a long post of just fic recommendations for both fandoms and it would be longer that this. it's just so good.) (lemme know if y'all want that. it would take a while to collect all the links, but i would gladly boost the fics i love)

16. the worst writing advice i've ever been given was to delete everything and start over if you get stuck. my storage might hate me, but i've learned i regret very much if i delete my work. even if i don't use something in the fic i originally wrote it for, i could always use it somewhere else or expand on it and make it it's own thing. another bad piece of advice i got was never use flowery language. i resent that. i loathe that. i am a writing maximalist, my dears. i will make my writing as longwinded and drawn out as possible.

MusInktober Day 8 - Have you read this?! (Favorite fanfiction)

I read wayyy to many fanfics and i honestly couldnt choose just one, so, i drew the first musical longfic that i finished, Sons Of Libertea

Its been more than half a year since i first read it, but oh boi i can still remember how much of a feels trip it was, seriously, if you like lams (or just good fanfiction in general) you should check it out :)

Now that I'm thinking about Magical Strike, I realise I've never really posted my ideas on it despite liking the AU quite a bit.

Maybe Alfred comes off as a powerful and in control at first, or he tries to be, but he's actually a spoilt rich brat who's used to getting everything he wants until he comes across salaryman Arthur who is neither intimidated by nor impressed with him. This surprises Alfred because Arthur seems introverted, which means he should be easy to scare and push around, right?

No. No, not at all. He seems serious, which does make him fun to mess with, though, and Alfred finds he wants Arthur's attention more and more since Arthur so blatantly doesn't want to indulge him. Meanwhile, Arthur wonders what this man hopes to gain, constantly bothering and distracting him like this. Is he just bored? Is he trying to get him fired?

Alfred finds Arthur's reactions funny, but he's also curious about him now. Because of this, Alfred ends up giving Arthur all his attention, and eventually starts showering him with gifts, then later trying to drag him along to various important events as a plus one.

Arthur starts to catch on that for some reason, Alfred has grown attached to him, but for the most part remains unfazed because all Alfred does is posture and show off. Alfred doesn't even know him that well, surely this is just a phase based on the fact Arthur doesn't bend over backwards for him.

Alfred gets frustrated because Arthur doesn't seem to care about anything he has to offer. Even at a big company event where all of his wealth is on full display, Arthur doesn't change his seemingly indifferent attitude towards him. Alfred swayed all his previous friends with money and looks, so what's not doing it for Arthur? Why won't he warm up to him at least a little? Does he dislike him that much? Is his personality that unbearable? Although...he supposes he hasn't actually shown Arthur that much of his real self, he's just defaulted to obnoxiously pestering him most of the time. He's probably worse around Arthur because he's always trying to go the extra mile to get his attention. So Alfred leaves Arthur alone and sneaks out of the event room to reflect.

Arthur is at first relieved to have peace and quiet. While they're not technically at work, he doesn't want to encourage Alfred by getting friendly with him. As if Alfred doesn't already sit on his desk asking every question in the universe as it is. After a while, though, he can't help thinking Alfred was acting strangely put out towards the latter half of their mostly one-sided conversation. Did he really want to get to know him that badly? It's true Alfred really doesn't seem to have any other friends, just sycophants, so maybe...

Maybe he should check on him.

alright so for number 1. for hamilton- the community by far is the best part (although there have been a few bumps lately) there are so many genuinely talented people who here, and it's been an honor to create with you guys and brainrotting with y'all over these dead assholes. even if I don't talk to most of you, I still love everyone in this community.

I also like how long I've been here. like i grew up with hamilton. I've been around for all of it (though I was a twitter girlie, not a tumblr girlie) but you better bet your ass I was scream-sobbing when lin cut his hair after his final performance. then I laid in the floor for the rest of the night. I was there for the hamildrops. I was there for ham4ham wednesdays when they were still a thing. I was there for lin on snl. i was there for lin's g'morning/g'night tweets. i was there for sons of libertea updates. I was there for the tony awards when i was 13. like I've seen people come and go from this fandom, and I'm still here. like it's truly my fandom. that's why I'll never truly leave

there's also constantly some form of content to be consumed. it's endless. there will always be something new to look at.

for jcs- it's lowkey helped me heal??? idk if that makes sense but I used to not be able to even stomach the mere mentions of religion bc of my upbringing, but now I'm literally fine with it. and i actually can enjoy things with religious undertones again. it might sound dumb, but I really appreciate the humanization that the fandom has helped bring to something that used to haunt me. the way the fandom genuinely cares for these characters is so... so good.

THE PEOPLE. ONCE AGAIN. THE PEOPLE. I might not talk as much as I want to bc I'm terrifyingly shy, and honestly so intimidated by the sheer amazing abilities all of you have, but I'm constantly just reading everything with the biggest heart eyes. I love y'all. genuinely some of my favorite people in existence, and you've made jcs one of my favorite fandoms to be a part of. I'm honored to be able to call you guys friends. I genuinely admire all of y'all so much. you guys have my heart.

finally, i kind of like how small it is. like we all know each other. obviously I would like jcs to get more love and would love to see more content, but I love the little community that i've joined. it's so intimate. and I love getting to see all the amazing ideas being born in real time and watching the creative process.

2. hamilton- when I was a kid, i didn't like the asshole hamilton trope (is this even a trope?? is this not canon??) and would avoid any fics that painted him in a negative light. thankfully i grew out of the hero worship stage tho, and can enjoy the complexity of characters.

jcs- listen when i was hardcore religious, the entirety of the headcanons i subscribe to would have freaked me outtttt. like all of them?? especially jesus/judas dynamics?? especially judas being sympathetic??? (once again these aren't headcanons. that's literally just the show.) ok let's go more specific tho from the time when i was normal. a headcanon i didn't think i would like but absolutely adore now is mostly to do with smut, so I will refrain from sharing lmao

4. hamgelica- alright y'all. I don't see the appeal in it. even in the musical. (shh it's my least favorite part even if satisfied is such a good song) i like angelica and alexander to have a sibling type relationship, but y'know... i do like the way they're both intelligent and seem to match each other's vibes. '

as for jcs. I don't have a ship I don't ship. they're all so shippable. I see the appeal of all of them. I could take two completely random characters, and it would work.
