Hi, I stopped working on this blog when I was about 17 years old living in Ukraine. I graduated with my bachelor's at 20, turned 21 in August, and now live in New York City working in consulting. Dreams are possible and happiness is always in the future if you're patient enough :) I hope everyone is doing well. I don't use Tumble anymore but best wishes <3

You don’t always have to answer this or be here on this blog really, if you need a break I (and hopefully all of us) understand. Take your time, get rest, this is YOUR blog, you have control over it. We love you and you should prioritise yourself over this blog. Take care on your journeys, college, just your life in general. :)
Ahhhh you're so sweet, thank you :) I really appreciate it.

How credible do you think Nathaniel Philbrick’s books are? (Bunker Hill, Valiant Ambition, and In the Hurricane’s Eye)
I haven't read any of them. Which would you like me to read first?

A long time ago I wrote a 100K piece called The Universe Carved Us From Marble which was a detailed piece of historical fiction about Nathan Hale and Benjamin Tallmadge’s respective childhoods.
While I stopped publishing it on Ao3, the piece has been completed for quite some time. The only issue is I wrote it when I was 14-15 years old. While the writing is good, as a writer I feel as though that wasn’t my peak (I recently turned 19). The pieces I write today are of the same deeply metaphorical, analytical and poetic style. However, I feel as though age and practice (as expected) greatly refined my abilities.
A combination of gifted-child burn out, age, trauma etc also made me unmotivated to do other long projects such as TUCUSFM and another 100K project I did that was not history related. I had always intended that if TUCUSFM got long enough (which it did) I would love to find a way to publish it as a book. TUCUSFM was never supposed to be just a book about BT and NH’s childhoods. After detailing childhoods for context about their characters, the piece was meant to expand towards their college days, the war, Nathan’s death and so forth. It was meant to be a long, detailed retelling of the relationship between these two men in a historical fiction style.
Anyways... this post is long way of telling you guys that I am planning on continuing TUCUSFM, writing what I originally intended albeit I have a different plan going forward that I think is between suited for a novel.
The new and improved TUCUSFM will not start at their childhoods but will start at Nathan and Ben’s arrival at Yale. The long childhood memories I wrote will not be in one big block but instead inter-spliced between what modern day in the book is. Modern day being the start of Yale. Instead of chapters having both Nathan and Ben’s lives contrasted with one another, each chapter will switch between third person perspectives. One chapter from Nathan, one from Ben, one from Nathan, one from Ben... etc. As I said before, the novel will go from Yale, through the war, Nathan’s death and ultimately Ben’s life following these events.
Going forth this is my plan and seeing as I lost a lot of my research having to move so many times, I will have to get started compiling all my files once more. Also seeing as just their childhoods took 100K words... you can expect this is gonna fall into 200K+ territory...

President Trump, BITCH! You don't like the word TRUMP , because you don't like the word JOB!!
You can -- and most certainly will -- continue to send messages like this to me several times a day, nearly every day of every week, but I’m going to respond now to let you know why I never respond, why I never post them, and why I’ll keep ignoring the rest after this.
I understand it must be excruciatingly depressing to spend all day trying to get other people’s attention, and then spend the rest of each day wondering why your life doesn’t matter to other people. But it’s because you are a cowardly, ignorant, anonymous internet troll who posts garbage namelessly, facelessly, and with the intense fear that someday, someone is going to figure out who you really are.
But they aren’t. Because you don’t matter to other people. Your life does not matter to people because this is who you are.
So, yes, you can and will keep sending me these ignorant messages every single day. And, yes, it will take me two seconds to see them and delete them. But I pay attention to them in the same way that I pay attention to dog shit on the sidewalk when I’m walking. I sidestep it because it’s gross and I don’t want any of it on me. And I’m sure you’re angry and sad because every person you’ve ever liked has felt that way about you. But it’s not because they suck. It’s because you are dog shit.
You are a coward. Just like the President you so passionately support. And by nearly every rational, reasonable measure of law, life, and love, you both are now certified losers. I’m sure that must really hurt, but at least you have Donald Trump, right? Oh wait...that’s right...Donald Trump doesn’t care about you, either. And, even if he did, and you didn’t hide your name and face and identity from the rest of the world like a coward so that he could get to really know you, he’d also figure out that you are dog shit and stop caring.
Congratulations! You got a response! And this one took longer than two seconds. But after I hit “post”, I’m going to stop thinking about the anonymous blob that represents you because, again, your life doesn’t matter to me. And I hope that you really think about this: you spend all this time -- part of you life -- sending me these ignorant, hateful messages and I STILL never think about you. All of that effort, and your life still does not matter to me. In fact, I literally don’t even know who you are, so even your opinion is worthless. You might as well not exist because you do not matter.
Because you are dog shit.
Happy Holidays!

Nikita Mazepin: the Russian Oligarchy’s Infiltration of F1
I suppose it’s my turn to speak on the Nikita to Haas situation. In my years involved with F1 I’ve never been so disgusted by a choice of driver. There have already been numerous posts about his violence, obvious disregard for women and rich-boy mentality. While all these are horrendous, I want to speak on something that enrages most of all. Please reblog.
#This is a post I made on my F1 blog#I am glad it is blowing up on twitter and somewhat on Tumblr#please reblog if you have the chance#even if you are not a F1 fan#pressles musing

I was just looking through your John Vanderlyn tag and I just wondered, why would he paint Theodosia Burr Alston's eye? Like it's a nice eye and all it's just a little odd (and some what creepy, I don't know, I don't really like eyeballs on their own).
Eyes are pretty. I get the question but I am not an all-knowing being. To answer your question we’d have to resurrect Vanderlyn and ask about his obsession with pretty eyes.
