₊ ⊹🪻 ✧ ˚. ᵎᵎ 🔮
n.amaro x reader
summary: you were younger then nick by a couple of years, and sometimes he’d come over to your apartment after late nights at the precinct, he’d come over to just enjoy peace and serenity
content: fluff, reader is in school (2nd or 3rd year of college) suggestive acts (nothing extreme), age gap!, mentions of sexual abuse due to svu cases, nothing too triggering, just a fluffy one shot overall
super short
✧ ✧
it was late at night, you were working on an essay that was due by the end of the week.. you were getting strained and decided to take a break and call it a day.
You made yourself a quick meal, spicy buldak noodles, a sandwich and your favorite drink that was saved in the fridge. You prepared your meal as you were watching your favorite show. you were almost done preparing your late-night snack when you heard the doorknob shake.
You lived a pretty safe vicinity so the chances of a burgler were slim, but you still were vigilant about your safety, you quickly grabbed your broom and held it tight.
Upon your discovery, the door opened and you saw your boyfriend… nick.
You sighed of relief, and he looked at you worried
“Jesus Nick, you scared me!” “geez sorry, i thought this neighbor was safe?”
you put the broom down, “I mean it is but you never know” “yeah.. tell me about it”
he walked to you as you went back in finishing preparing your ramen, he went behind you and grabbed you hips and nuzzled his head in between your neck, kissing you, making you giggle due to his stubble
he continued and you moved your head slightly to give him more access, he took this as a sign to continue. You tried not to get distracted but you let a soft moan escape.
he laughed, and started moving up your body; cupping your boobs. You laughed and finally pushed him away
“stop Nick” you laughed “I want to eat, I’ve been working on an assignment for the past 5 hours.” he let go and laughed “my hard working girl, okay okay I’ll let you eat but next time, you’re all mine!”
you shook your head in sarcasm, he took of his jacket and unbuttoned his white shirt a couple of buttons down, and took off his shoes. He adjusted himself on your couch, and laid there with his eyes closed taking in the aroma therapy essential oils diffuser thats going around your room.
you look at him, now realizing that he’s here strangely. Nick stops by late nights most weekends or if it’s a weekday he’ll let you know earlier in the day if he’s stopping by, but it’s currently a Tuesday at 12:36 am.
“hey Nick?”
he hummed in response, most likely getting sleepy
“not to sound rude or anything.. but why are you here? It’s late on a Tuesday night, shouldn’t you be at your place?”
He opened one eye and looked over at you
“do you not want me here?” He said a bit suspicious
“oh god, no like yeah I do, but I just realized what day it was and you know you usually let me know when you’re coming over and it’s usually weekends you spend the night with me, I just found it odd you came to visit me tonight” “I love it when you’re here really”
you finally finished your ramen and took it towards the couch where Nick was, and started eating as you waited for a response.
he was hesitant in his answer, he seemed stressed and frustrated.
“today we had a tough case.. a rape case..”
you look at him attentively, making sure you are hearing him and that he has your fullest attention.
you nod in continuous
“and well… it’s about a 8 year old girl who’s after school teacher has been acting inappropriately with her.. you know like touching her where she shouldn’t be touched”
“oh my god” was what you let out
“yeah, and her home life isn’t easy, this one was a bit tough to work on dude to how young and bright this little girl is. I hate to see anyone take it away from her”
you put your ramen down and get close to him, caressing his hand.
“and being here.. with you just brings me peace. All is perfect here, so sorry i came unexpected but i really needed to see you”
you smiled at him
“awe baby, you know you are always welcomed here, I love having you here, never goes a day where I don’t miss you”
you make him look at you and caress his cheek, looking so attentively at his eyes, leaning in and kissing him so gracefully.
he takes you in, and guides a hand on your neck. You move to his lap and continue to kiss him, sucking on each others lips, and you slightly grinding on him
he groans a bit and you continue to bit his lip. You pull away with his lip in between your teeth and stare at him and run a finger across his now plumped lips
“thank you for coming over”
“thank you for having me”

You were back at work the next day. Your lunch break spent in Olivia's office. You rested your hands on your stomach, in awe that there was really a baby in there.
Olivia sat at her desk, admiring you. A soft smile was present on her face as you touched your stomach. Olivia herself was still in shock that you were pregnant.
She gently turned your head back up to meet hers, giving you a sweet kiss before pulling away and looking at you. "Are you sure you're okay?" She asked softly, still holding your waist.
Her gaze fell onto you.
"Mhm, better get back out there.." You nodded, beginning to detach yourself from her arms.
"I'll see you later, sweetheart. Let me know if you need anything." Olivia added.
You closed the door behind you as you watched Rollins return from her break.
"Hi Y/N" She smiled, sitting at her desk.
"Hey Manda, what's new?" You spoke, brushing a strand of hair out of your face.
"There's been a break in the case" Munch interrupted.
As Munch briefed the team, Olivia focused on the work in front of her. She was only half paying attention to what was going on. She was still thinking about earlier, thinking about you being pregnant with her child. The thought alone filled her with warmth. She knew this would be something she'd be thinking about for the rest of the day.
The case required the team to go into the field. Olivia grabbed her coat and bag to follow everyone else into action. The case wasn't too bad, thankfully. She walked with the team, making sure to keep an eye on you throughout. She couldn't help but be a bit protective, especially knowing that you were now carrying a baby, her baby.
There was a dead body that had been dead for a few days so it had a rancid smell. You tried to resist gagging and keep your composure. This action didn't go unnoticed by Liv.
She saw your expression as you saw the body and inched closer to you. Olivia placed her hand on your back, rubbing it gently. "You okay, dear?" She asked. She didn't want you to be too stressed, especially now. She was a bit concerned for your health.
"Y-Yeah.. it's just the s-smell" You admitted, whispering in her ear. You didn't want the rest of the team to know the news just yet. Didn't wanna jinx it.
Olivia nodded and kept a hand on your back, gently rubbing circles with her thumb, trying to comfort you. "Oh. My love.. It's going to be alright. Just breathe for me, okay?" She knew the next few months wouldn't be easy for you but it will be so worth it.
"You alright, Y/N? It's not your first dead body, is it?" Munch remarked, his eyes judging you.
Olivia looked up, her eyes glared at the other detective. This wasn't the time or place for jokes. She moved her hand from your back, instead putting it on your stomach, rubbing it softly. "It's alright," she reassured you, ignoring the other detective's comment.
"You know she's one of the younger agents leave her alone" Rollins spoke, referring to your age. Rollins was very motherly to you, and protective of you so she came to your rescue.
"Thank you, Amanda" Olivia turned to Rollins, giving her a nod. She hated when her teammates made comments that were just insensitive. She knew they didn't mean to be rude, but now was certainly not the time. The captain kept her hand on your stomach, rubbing it gently.
"In public?" You mouthed, refering to Liv's hand caressing your stomach. You didn't want your team to find out and this was a dead giveaway.
Olivia knew what you meant. She couldn't help but feel a bit protective and wanted everyone to know, but she also wasn't quite ready for anyone to know yet. She knew it would only be a matter of time before someone put the pieces together. "You're doing so well, don't worry about the others." She whispered, trying to reassure you.
༘˚⋆𐙚。⋆𖦹.✧˚
The team had returned back to the office, wrapping up the case. You were in Olivia's office, relaxing. The team knew of your relationship with the captain but they didn't know that you two were trying to have a child.
Olivia's hovered behind you, her hands working the knots in your shoulder. "You're so tense, my love.." Olivia spoke softly.
You closed your eyes, lending your hand back slightly. A quiet groan escaped from your lips.
"That's it baby, let it all out" Olivia encouraged. Her lips ghosted your neck.
"You're such a good girl, my best girl" She praised.
You stood up, backing Liv against the wall. Your gaze darkened, you bit your lip as your hand found it's way around her neck.
"Shh.. Gotta keep quiet Captain.." You smirked, you sucked on the skin on her neck, taking it between your teeth.
"Mine" You whimpered against her.
Olivia couldn't lie, she was turned on by your possessiveness, and slightly curious of where it came from. She wasn't complaining though.
"B-baby.. we're a-at work" She reminded you, trying to keep her composure and not submit to you. She didn't want to give up her power but God you felt so good against her.
"Mmm.. don't you want this Liv.." Yiu mumbled against her, your other hand snaked down to her stomach, resting just below her pants.
"We're still at work, we'll have time for this later." Olivia added gently, pulling your face away from her neck.
"Benson! Y/L/N!" A voice exclaimed from the briefing room.
Olivia jumped, pulling away from you. She straightened her shirt and ran a hand through her hair to mess it around a bit so there wasn't as much evidence of what had just happened.

Mr Right
So, anonymous requested this request. And not gonna lie it was hard to write in so far as making Rafael a dick but otherwise I loved writing adoring Carisi caring for pregnant reader.
Warnings: Swearing, threat of violence, angst

You casually walked through the squad room, smiling at your fellow detectives as you made your way to Liv’s office. You paused briefly as you saw them all look at each, their smiles not quite convincing. You shrugged before continuing on, thinking that they were just concerned with how you were handling the baby Drew Incident. Which…fair, you probably weren’t handling it as well as the others, and Rafael hadn’t answered your calls or been at home when you went by his place. The two of you had been dating for around six months and you wanted to check on him and not being able to tell if he was okay was worrying you. You hoped that he had at least talked to Liv which was why you were making a beeline for her office.
“Hey, Liv,” you leaned against her doorway rapping your knuckles against the glass.
“Y/n,” Liv waved you in, you noticed her smile was forced as well and you could see the strain around her eyes. “Come in. I wasn’t expecting you to be in today.”
“Oh?” you asked tilting your head as you stepped through, closing the door before taking a seat in-front of her desk. “Why?”
“I thought maybe you might take some time off or even request a leave of absence,” Liv sounded confused. “Maybe even talk about a transfer once you two had discussed where Rafael was moving to.”
“Moving?” you asked even more confused. “Rafael, is moving?”
“He hasn’t told you?”
“We haven’t talked since his trial, he said he needed some time, and I gave that to him but when I tried to call him or go by his place there was no answer,” you could feel your heart speeding up, as a burning sensation built at the back of your throat. “Rafael talked to you?”
“Yes, he said he had put in his papers and was thinking of leaving,” Liv’s voice turned to steel as she put together the pieces you were still missing but were slowly putting together.
“He…he’s leaving, and he didn’t even tell me,” your voice quivered as your vision became blurred as your eyes filled with tears. “He’s left me.”
“I am so sorry,” Oliva stood up and moved around to you. She wrapped her arms around you holding you close to her as you cried. Your chest felt tight as you tried to get your breathing under control, but it was difficult as the buzzing in your head got louder.
“I can’t believe he wouldn’t even call me,” your voice was soft but measured as the buzzing in your head slowly disappeared. You could feel your body slowly starting to heat, you took in a deep breath before letting it out in a shaky exhale. Anger started to fill your veins, pushing away from Liv you started to pace, your hands running through your hair. “I mean what the fuck?! We were together six months we were even talking about moving in together, getting a place. I-if I ever see him again I…I’ll…fuck!”
“Your anger is understandable,” Liv stood up watching as you paced. “Take the day, more if you need.”
You spun around to face her, your chest heaving as you tried to get control, not wanting lash out at your friend. Just as fast as the rage hit you it was gone as your body sagged as if someone cut your strings. Tears filled your eyes again as you nodded. Liv’s eyes softened as she watched you switch emotions so quickly; she couldn’t believe Rafael wouldn’t even call you. She was going to kill him for hurting you.
“I’ll get Carisis to drive you home,” Liv’s voice was gentle as she reached for you again. “I don’t want you driving like this.”
You just nodded, following her out like a lost puppy. Now you understood the looks the others gave you. They knew. They bloody knew. Great so everyone but you knew that Rafael left you. You braved a look at the others, and was a little surprised. Finn looked murderous; it seems Olivia had enough time to tell them that you had in fact not known that Rafael had left. Amanda looked torn between helping Finn commit a crime and comforting you. Carisi, well, Carisi looked like someone had kicked his dog as he came towards you, his jacket in hand.
“Hey,” his hands started reaching for you but aborted their movement before they dropped to his side. You tried to smile at him but you were sure it came off a little more like a grimace. “Come on, let’s get you home.” Once again you followed after one of your friends like a lost little puppy.
--
It had been over a month since you found out that Rafael had left you like the bastard he was. And your sadness had almost completely been replaced by rage. The others had taken to be careful not to mention his name around you. It wasn’t that you would start frothing at the mouth in rage but rather you would shut down and that apparently made the others uncomfortable. Well, Carisi got more concerned then uncomfortable. He had started bringing in an insane number of baked goods and would also show up at your place with ingredients to cook dinner.
It was probably the best you had eaten in that month, or well ever apparently. Your favourite pants had gotten a little tight, actually, all of your pants had gotten tight. And that didn’t make any sense, because you were throwing up randomly throughout the day, which also tended to coincide with when someone mentioned Rafael. The throwing up just made Carisi even more concerned for you, which had him making you even more food. It was a little vicious cycle. You stared down at your pants that you were currently struggling to do up. You pouted as you tried once again to get the two sides of the pants to come together, your eyes narrowed as they once again did not come close to touching.
“What the fuck?” you whispered frowning as tears started to fill up your eyes, chest heaving as a sob crawled up your throat. “Great now I’m crying. Again.”
Giving up on your pants you fell back onto your bed allowing the sobs to run their course. You couldn’t wait for whatever this was to end. Hopefully, it would be soon. You couldn’t take much more of this. It was ridiculous. It was worse than the ups and downs during your cycle. Wait. You bolted up into a sitting position. Your sobs stopping just as quickly as they started.
“Not possible,” you whispered, grabbing your phone and opening your calendar. The date stared at you, like some big massive joke. “Nope, nope, nope.” And, yep, there are the sobs again. Flopping back onto the bed you threw the phone to the side, covering your face with both hands you sobbed harder. “Maybe if I ignore this, it will go away.”
Your little session was interrupted by a knock on your front door. Groaning you sat up, glaring down at your jeans before aiming the glare in the direction on your front door. The knock came again, dragging out another groan from you as you forced your body up tugging your shirt down as much as you could to cover your undone pants.
“I’m coming,” you called out as the knock sounded again. “Don’t be so god damn impatient.” You yanked open the door, glare firm on your face even as you continued to cry.
“Hey-woah, are you okay?” Carisi stood on the other side, the smile freezing on his face as it morphed into a concerned frown.
“Do I look okay?” you demanded turning away from him and walking back towards your kitchen leaving the door open for Carisi to walk through.
“I mean…no?” Caris seemed unsure if he should answer that question honestly. You huffed reaching to get a glass, Carisi’s eyes zeroed in on your undone pants and the swell of your stomach. His eyes slowly moved up, taking in any other changes he could see. Only to stop when he caught your eyes, your puffy, wet, red eyes that were currently glaring at him.
“Can I help you?” your voice was cold, almost seething, as you set the glass down and tried to tug your shirt back over your pants again. “I am aware that my pants can’t do up at the moment, but that is no reason to look at me with judgy eyes.” You voice broke as the tears started falling again. “And fucking hell, can I stop crying for five minutes please?!”
“Trust me I was not looking at you with “judgy” eyes,” Carisi promised, arms twitching as he resisted the urge to hug you. “I was concerned. And I think I may know what is going on.”
“Of fuck off, with your knowledge because you have sisters,” you cursed. “I am not…I can’t be…pregnant.” Your voice was so quiet he almost didn’t hear you but it broke his heart. You sounded so scared.
“You’ve been throwing up a lot, and your body has changed,” Carisis thought better of using the phrase “gained weight”, his sister did not appreciate it one bit. “Not to mention how you’re switching between emotions really fast. It might be a good idea to take a test. Just to be sure.”
You looked up at him, all the anger fading from your face as you heard someone else voicing the thoughts that ran through your head once you realised it had been nearly two months since your last period. Shaking your head, you closed the distance between the two of you and fell against his chest. Carisi was always an affectionate person with his friends and right now you needed his hugs and you knew he wasn’t going to offer, not after the last time. Where you may have bitten his head off. Which you now at least had a theory as to why you reacted the way you did. Even if you really didn’t want to entertain the idea, you knew taking a test would be the smart thing to do.
“Can…I mean, will you be here, when I take it?” you asked in a tone so close to broken that Carisi wanted to hunt Rafael down.
“Of course I will,” Carisi soothed, running his hand up and down your back. “I’ll go out and get a test. You stay here, want me to maybe also get you some different pants?”
“Yes,” you nodded, hiccupping as you refused to let him go. “But just...stay here for a moment.”
“I won’t leave until you want me to,” Carisi promised, arms holding you tight to him.
“You promise?” you couldn’t help but ask him. You couldn’t help but fear that one day everyone you cared about would decide to leave you, with absolutely no warning. “You won’t leave?”
“Never,” Carisi pressed a kiss to the top of your head, heart finally shattering. It was then that swore to himself that he would do everything in his power to help you believe he wouldn’t leave, that there were people in your life who cared about you and would never leave you. It doesn’t matter what it will take, or long it will take until you believed him.
--
“You have to come out of the bathroom eventually,” Carisi called knocking against the door. “It’s been long enough, what does the test say?”
“I think the fact that I am in here having what is most definitely a panic attack should answer that!” you tried to sound angry but the sobbing and fear in your voice did not help.
“A panic-I’m coming in,” Carisi frowned, opening the door he found you sitting on the floor against the bath tub, the test in your hands. At the look on your face, he once again found himself wanting to hunt down a man he once considered a friend. You were so pale, your chest heaving as your breath came out in rough pants, your eyes looked unfocused.
“Oh, darling.” He couldn’t help the pet name as he kneeled beside you, wrapping an arm around your shoulders and pulling you against his chest. His other hand carefully took the test out of your shaking hands, noting the positive result before setting it aside so he could rub your arm in comfort.
“What am I going to do?” you asked, voice shaking. “I can’t, I’m pregnant.”
“It’ll be okay,” Carisi whispered.
“How?! How the hell is this going to be okay?” you demanded pulling back from him, eyes blazing, panic seeming to fade as the anger at your situation hit you full force. “I’m pregnant, and the bastard of a father left without even so much as a good bye! I can’t do this.”
“Yes, you can,” Carisi assured you. “You are so insanely strong, not to mention brave. You would be an amazing mother. Whatever decision you choose I will support you.”
“You will? Why?” you asked confused.
“You’re my friend and I care about you,” he answered, voice firm.
“Regardless of my decision?” you wanted to confirm, knowing that Carisi had his faith. “Even if I decide I don’t want to keep the baby?”
“Yes, it is your decision,” Carisi nodded. “But, again, regardless, I will support you through it. Now come on we need to get off this cold floor and you need to eat something.”
“Carisi, I can’t,” you whined, mood switching again. “My pants don’t fit.”
“I got you new ones remember?” he gently pulled you up off the floor, pulling out a handkerchief and wiped away the tears that had started to fall down your cheeks again as your rage ebbed away at the thought that your pants don’t fit.
“Oh, right,” you bit your lip as your eyes drifted up to Carisi’s face, taking in his features as he wiped away your tears. “Thank you.”
“Any time,” he smiled tapping you on the nose. “I also got some ingredients for a pasta dish.”
“Ooh, can we have that garlic bread you made the other week?” you asked brightening. Carisi’s food always made you happy, even if at first you thought it was making you gain weight.
“Yes, of course I got ingredients to make that garlic bread,” Carisi couldn’t help but laugh at not just your quick change in emotion, he was use to that, he thought it was adorable you got so excited about his food.
--
Amanda, Liv and Finn all stood around staring. Watching as Carisi handed you a container with what looked like homemade food, and he then placed a bottle of something on your desk.
“You need to remember to be taking your vitamins,” they heard him scolding you. “The Dr said your levels were low.”
“…they tasted funny,” you pouted, hand settling a little on your stomach that had started showing.
“I know that is why I went and got some different ones, apparently they taste like orange, which I know if something you are currently craving,”
“Is Carisi smiling differently?” Amanda asked, head tilted to the side.
“Yeah, he looks like y/n hung the moon,” Finn huffed.
“It’s kind of adorable,” Amanda muttered.
“She looks happy,” Liv smiled softly. She was glad to see it, you hadn’t looked so happy in months. And she was worried about what being pregnant with Rafael’s baby would do, but apparently Carisi had it all under control.
“Carisi, never brought me home made food when I was pregnant,” Amanda complained.
“That’s cause he wasn’t in love with you,” Finn chuckled as he walked away leaving the other two to watch Carisi moon over you. It was sickeningly adorable and for Carisi’s sake Finn hoped nothing went horribly wrong between the two of you. Finn would hate to have to add a list to the names of those he would shoot on sight. It currently had one.
--
You pouted. And pouted some more. Staring up at the poor man through your lashes. Said man was trying, rather admirable, to ignore you, blue eyes looking anywhere but at you. Your eyes narrowed as you stepped closer to him, puffing out your cheeks.
“Please?” you asked.
“No,” Carisi sighed, rubbing his forehead.
“Carisi,” you whined. “Please.”
“It’s nearly midnight, I am not going out to get you ice cream,”
“But I want pickles and ice cream,” you huffed. “And we only have pickles and no ice cream…oh and sprinkles! With peanut butter, that sounds sooo good. Doesn’t that sound yummy?”
“Sure,” Carisi laughed, this was the fourth time in two days that you had started out wanting something only to find several things to add to it.
“So, you’ll get the stuff?” you bounced lightly on your feet, hands moving to hold your stomach. You were entering your second trimester, and the cravings were only getting stronger.
“Fine, but you are coming with me,” Carisi tapped you on the nose, grinning when you scrunched it up.
“Good idea!” you nodded. “We can get pizza as well.”
“Pizza?” Carisi asked, face scrunching in confusion as he led you out of your apartment. You nodded, grabbing his hand without thinking and tugging him along.
“Yes, now come on.”
--
You weren’t entirely sure when your feelings for Carisi changed from friendship to wanting to always be around him. On the odd night when he wasn’t at yours you missed him, when he went out into the field and you were stuck at the desk doing paperwork, you missed him. And also worried about him an insane amount. You weren’t sure what you wanted to do with this change but you were happy to let things happen when they happened. And you didn’t wanna read into too much but he had been spending more time with you lately, it was very rare that he wasn’t over at yours or you weren’t over at his.  Like right now, the two of you had just finished an amazing dinner that Carisi had made you, and were now watching tv. You had curled up against him resting your head against his chest as his arm wrapped around your waist. You felt content in a way you hadn’t for the longest of times, and you didn’t want anything to change.
Just as you were reaching for the popcorn, your separate bowl that was drizzled with salt, sugar, caramel and chocolate, you felt a pressure in your stomach. You gasped sitting up hand pressed against your stomach.
“What’s wrong?” Caris moved with you, the arm wrapped around your waist tugging you to his side as his eyes moved between your face and your stomach, his other hand hovering over yours. “Are you in pain?”
“No, that’s not it,” you shook your head. “Oh, oh!” you grabbed his hovering hand and placed it where yours was. “The baby is moving.”
Carisi’s whole body felt warm as he felt the light pressure against his hand. His chin came to rest on your shoulder as he looked down at your stomach where your hands were joined together. He tried so hard to ignore the feelings that were building the longer he was around you, this wasn’t suppose to be anything more than a friend helping a friend but the more he watched you bounce happily when you ate his food. Or every time you looked at him with those soft eyes, pouting at him to get your way. It was near impossible to do anything but fall for you. That small little crush of his that had started when he joined the team, that he tried to ignore when he saw you liked Rafael, came back full force about two months into helping you.
“Look at that,” he whispered, his voice directly in your ear causing a small shiver to run through your body.
“Our baby has a strong kick huh?” you asked turning your head a little, nose rubbing against his cheek.
“Our baby?” Carisi felt his brain screech to a holt. You jolted, eyes wide as your own words repeated themselves through your head. Echoing a little in Carisi’s head as well.
“What?”
“You called the baby, ours,” Carisi moved his chin from your shoulder so he could look at you properly, trying hard to keep the smile from his face but there was no way to keep those blue eyes of his from shinning.
“I guess I did,” you nodded slowly licking your lips, suddenly finding it difficult to look at those eyes.
“Did you mean it?”
“I…I did,” you nibbled on your bottom lip, stomach fluttering. “I mean, you’ve taken me to every appointment, you’ve gone with me when I needed to get new clothes, you put up with every little craving I have and…you’re always here for me. Just like you said.” Your hand shook as it rose to cradle his face, thumb stroking just under his eye.
“Darling,” Carisi lent into your hand, those eyes burning bright with hope. “Can I kiss you?”
“You better,” you demanded leaning close to him.
“Gladly,” Carisi chuckled as he closed the distance between the two of you.
The feel of his lips brushing yours made your heart quicken, your hand cupping his cheek moved to cup his jaw as you angled your head, moving your lips against his. His hand on your waist stroked up to hold the back of your head, lightly tangling with your hair and tugging it gently as his tongue swiped out teasingly. You gasped into the kiss when you felt a slightly stronger kick, pulling away from the kiss you looked down where Carisi was stroking your stomach.
“Someone’s a little excited,” you smiled, pressing a kiss against his cheek before leaning back and putting both hands against your stomach. “Do, you wanna stay the night?”
--
“I want this baby out,” you groaned lowering yourself onto the couch next to Carisi holding your shoes in your hand. “I can’t put my shoes on.”
“Give em here,” Carisi rolled his eyes grabbing your shoes and kneeling in-front of you. “It won’t be long now before you give birth.”
“Thank fuck,” you rubbed your stomach giggling at Carisi when he raised an eyebrow at your comment. “Hey, you try growing a baby in you, carrying it for nine months, getting cankles, craving the oddest combination of food ever, having your body change in ways you never even thought about, your back constantly hurting, and finally needing to pee every five minutes.”
“Fair enough,” he focused on putting your shoes on, knowing already not to comment on anything that you just said. Last time he did, you cried. Although when you were crying about having cankles and he tried to be supportive you threw a pillow at him. So really, it was a fifty-fifty how you would respond.
“Come on, let’s go,” you held out your hands making grabbing motions at him.
“Alright, up you come,” Carisi grabbed hold of you and helped you up. You grinned up at him and took a step just before a sharp pain radiated from your stomach. You gabbed hold of it wincing in pain. “Are you alright?”
“Yeah, I’m totally fine,” you waved him off. “It’s just my stomach trying to kill me, been happening on and off for like the day.”
“Wait, you said your back was hurting?”
“Yeah so, I’m carrying around a watermelon,”
“Normally, constant back pain can be a sign that you are going into labour,” Carisi said. “And you are getting cramps?”
“Well, I’ve gone nearly two decades with getting cramps and while those where definitely painful these are something much different and are coming closer and closer together,”
“Um, honey,” Carisi started. “I think you might be in labour.”
“What like three weeks early? Pfft, unlikely, my family has a history of being like either exactly nine months or like two weeks late,” you shrugged just as your felt a gush of something wet leaving you. “On the other hand, I think you might be right…my water just broke.”
“Oh shit!” Carisi started to panic. “We don’t have your hospital bag ready and we don’t have our route to the hospital!”
“Dominick!” you shouted lightly tapping him on the cheek. “It’ll be fine. Let’s just go, we can always ask one of the others to get me some things.”
“Right, right,” he nodded. “Let’s go.” His arm automatically wrapping around your lower back to help support you as he offered his other arm for you to take as he led you carefully to the car.
--
“Dom, look it’s our daughter,” you whispered breathlessly staring down in wonder at the beautiful little girl in your arms. You had been worried that she would noticeably look like Rafael but thankfully your baby girl had inherited nearly everything from you, and you hoped that it stayed that way. But it truly didn’t matter. Carisi was her father in every way that counted, and every way that mattered.
“She’s gorgeous,” Carisi’s breathed, eyes wetting with tears as he carefully reached out and gently stroked her cheek. “Just like her mother.” You rolled your eyes but couldn’t wipe the smile from your face. Your eyes drifted to the bag that Olivia had brought in for you, when she came in to say hello to your beautiful baby girl, and leaving with a wink.
“Sweetie, can you get something from my bag? It should be right on top,” you nodded towards it, breaking Carisi’s little mutterings that he was making towards your daughter.
“Oh, sure yeah,” he nodded distractedly. You grinned down at your daughter in secret, leaning to press a kiss to her soft little forehead.
“I’ve got a little surprise for your daddy,” you told her.
“Um, babe, is this? Is this what I think it is?” Carisi turned around holding a ring box in his hand, the lid opened to reveal a man’s ring. The band a gorgeous mixture of black, gold and silver intertwining with a hint of blue.
“Dominick Sonny Carisi, you have been my rock for the past near nine months, bringing so much happiness and light into my life,” you started, feeling yourself getting choked up. You blinked furiously. “I fell for you without even noticing. You are the father of my daughter, and without a doubt you are the love of my life. We’re already a family but I think we should make it official. Will you marry me?”
Carisi’s mouth was open, his eyes welling up with my tears as he stared at you, sitting there in the hospital bed holding his daughter. Looking more radiate than he had ever seen you. And all he could do was nod silently and take the ring out of the box and put it on his finger.

godddd please write more about jealous amanda i need her to know she can’t get our man bc he’s pussy whipped and in lurv ❤️😋☺️😭
your wish is my command 😏🤭 (small continuation of this ask)
                   ౨ৎ
"i'll see you later," you said, giving sonny a quick peck on the cheek before turning to the rest of the squad. "it was lovely to meet you all. i hope to see you again soon," you smiled warmly.
you had hung around for a couple hours but ultimately, needed to get home. you had a few things to straighten out for work and around the house, and you'd also really wanted some wind down time to yourself to destress for a bit before bed.
"see you around," finn smiled, giving you a nod, like you had passed some test of sorts. it made you feel sort of accomplished. finn was an interesting guy, and you were flattered to be someone he considered alright in his book.
"drive safe," olivia told you, giving you a warm smile.
"yeah, have a nice night," amanda mumbled reluctantly, her tone insincere.
"i love you," he called, watching as you left. you shook your head, grinning and blowing him a kiss. he pretended to catch it and press it to his heart. if you weren't already halfway out the door, you would have rolled your eyes and lovingly called him a dork. "she's great, isn't she, guys?" he turned back, a proud smile on his face.
"i don't know how on earth you bagged her, carisi, but you better not mess up," finn laughed, shaking his head in disbelief.
"oh, don't listen to him," olivia laughed. "you two are adorable together"
"aw, come on," he grinned, waving them off, but he couldn't help the blush that crept up onto his cheeks.
"what do you think, rollins?" he asked. she had been abnormally quiet all night, and he was dying to know what she was thinking.
"she's alright," amanda shrugged. she had that tense posture and tone of voice she always had when she was holding something back.
"well, i think it's time to get home to noah," olivia said, standing from the barstool and placing some money on the bar.
"yeah, i'm gonna call it a night too," finn follow suit, both of them clearly sensing the tension.
"goodnight," amanda called, glancing over, waving goodbye at them. they both waved back, heading for the door quickly, wanting to put as much distance between them and the impending argument as possible.
olivia had her fair share of arguments with stabler in her time. she knew exactly how heated and personal they could become, and finn, he just didn't want to have to sit there awkwardly. the fighting would make his beer taste bad— or so he would say.
"yeah, goodnight," sonny said, but his voice was quiet as he continued to stare at amanda with furrowed brows. "cmon, rollins," he pried, sitting down next to her. "i know when you're not tellin' me the truth"
"listen, carisi," she sighed, her finger tracing the rim of her glass. "i don't want to hurt your feelings, alright?"
"hurt my feelings?" he asked, feeling extremely confused. he felt like the introduction went well. was there something that he had missed?
"i just don't think she's good enough for you," she finally said, looking over to meet his eyes.
"not good enough for me?" he almost couldn't believe what he was hearing. "if anything, i'm the one that's not good enough for her!" his tone wasn't angry or defensive, just confused, as if he had never even considered the thought that he was too good for you.
"i'm just saying-" she paused, trying to find the words without coming across as jealous as she felt. "she doesn't understand the job and its demands. she won't understand you."
"amanda," sonny said, his voice low and serious. "you're my partner, and i respect your opinion more than anyone else's, but you're wrong."
"carisi-"
"no," he stopped her, his tone firm but not unkind. "if it's her understanding me that's your concern, i can assure you, she gets me like no one else. no one else has ever made me feel so seen and loved before. she may not always understand my job or my stressful law classes, but she listens, and she tries to understand, and that's what's important to me. i wanted you all to meet her because i love her, and you guys have grown to mean a lot to me. i would love for you to like her and be something friend adjacent, but i'm not going to lose sleep over it if you don't approve," he said, leaving no room for discussion.
amanda stared at him, opening her mouth to say something back, but she couldn't think of anything. she thought she could express her disapproval, and he would accept it. what she didn't expect was for him to come to your defense like that.
he really loved you, and there was nothing she could do about it.

stare decisis: chapter eight - amentia
amentia: latin for infatuation
masterlist
wc: 1046 (another filler - but more exciting things soon!)
rafael barba x original female character
Tumblr media
“These are absolutely beautiful,” Quinn’s eyes are set on sunset hued buttercup flowers, the petals are pale pink with orange edges. She picks up three stems and hands them to the vendor.
“Good morning ma’am, happy Saturday,” the cashier greets.
“Good morning, thank you so much for these,” Quinn swipes her debit card quickly as the cashier wraps the small bouquet in butcher paper. Quinn tucks the bouquet into her canvas tote, the flowers sticking out of the top, with the straps slung over her left shoulder.
The Union Square Market is filled with bustling New York City locals on this autumn morning, shopping for the next week’s worth of fresh produce or trolling for Christmas gifts as the holidays loom near. The slight chill in the air frosts the tip of Quinn’s nose with a rosy flush. Her emerald hued eyes gently peruse the booths in front of her before setting their sights on a ceramics booth, her steps increase in pace but just as she reaches the booth the shrill of a cell phone ring pierces her ear drums, she frantically pulls the cell from her tote and holds it to her ear.
“Brady,” she smiles politely at the ceramics booth owner as she picks up a mug to examine it. She single handedly rotates the mug to view all sides, the speckled blue glaze reflects the cool sunlight brightly. The thick, handmade walls of the mug are sturdy, and sure to be able to keep coffee warm.
“Good morning Miss Brady, it’s Detective Carisi. We’ve got a new case,” just like with the flowers, she hands the mug to the cashier and quickly swipes her debit card. As the cashier wraps the mug in protective paper Carisi tells her that the crime scene is at Union Square Park.
“Oh, I’m actually not too far from there. I’ll be there soon,” she’s quick to hang up the phone and expresses her apologies and gratitude to the ceramics cashier. Again, the mug is tucked into her tote bag before she follows Carisi’s instructions to their new crime scene.
Turning the corner when nearing the crime scene, Quinn’s cherry red Mary Janes melodically tap the concrete of the park path. A young woman’s body had been discovered at the base of a hill in Union Square Park by an early morning jogger.
“Hey Counselor! Nice of you to join us!” Carisi’s Staten Island accent assaults her ears as soon as she’s in eyesight. Her sheer black tights are complimented by a short dark wash denim dress, the color of it sets her figure apart from the park foliage. She observes that the scene is rather contained, there’s around ten uniformed officers plus Carisi, Fin, and Rollins. Dr. Carl Rudnick, a newcomer to the M.E.'s office is already performing a preliminary examination of the body.
“Don’t act surprised Carisi, you called and I’m on call this weekend. What do we got?" She pulls a small notepad from her tote and she joins the crowd. She doesn’t exactly notice as Dr. Rudnick’s eyes trace her slowly, but she smiles sweetly at the new face in the crowd but listens to Rollins’s brief.
“Young female, apparent strangulation, we’re unclear of any sexual assault. ID in her bag says her name is Claudia Gundy. Also, this is Dr. Rudnick, he’s new to our office. Doctor Rudnick, this is one of our ADAs, Quinn Brady,” Rudnick’s eyes have honestly not left Brady through this entire introduction, he shoots up from his squatted position and reaches a gloved hand out to shake Quinn’s hand. Quinn’s eyes slowly move from his face to his gloved, crime scene investigating hand.
“Pleasure, Doctor; but I will not be shaking your gloved hand that has been investigating a dead body,” she’s blunt and straight to the point. It’s irresponsible for him to even attempt what he had.
“Oh right,” is all he says in response and returns to his work. Carisi and Rollins watch, jaws essentially blowing in the wind before Quinn speaks again.
“I don’t think you guys have anything more for me quite yet, I’ll see you all on Monday, at a reasonable time for work to be done.”
***
With her right hand Quinn spins the small gold ball earring in her earlobe while she scrolls through her email inbox box using her right hand on the computer mouse. Highlighted email upon highlighted email crosses her eyeline but none with important or intriguing subject lines spark her interest. The sound of Barba’s office door opening only piques her ears but her eyes maintain their fixed position on the monitor.
“They have a suspect, I’m heading down to the precinct now,” his voice carries through her open doorway and her eyes follow the sound and find him standing just on the other side of the threshold. His frame stalls rather than taking his usual leave to sprint from their shared office spaces. Her eyes search his for a moment - trying to place this new behavior from him.
“Oh, this is you trying to invite me to tag along?”
“Carisi actually begged for me to invite you and I almost feel bad for him because I think that he thinks he’s in love with you,” Barba attempts to memorise each grain of leather in his dress shoes.
“Carisi’s not in love with me, he feels neglected by his career god: you and I have actually taken the time to teach him,” she remarks as she picks her tote bag up from the side of her desk and slings it over her left shoulder. “All you have to do is be human and people asking for you to do things with them won’t feel foreign,” she breezes past him leaving a cloud of her warm scented perfume in her wake. He follows quickly behind her.
“No, he’s actually used the word love before.”
“Whatever you say Rafael. Liv doesn’t think you’re in love with her because she’s the only one you’re halfway nice to. It’s just called being nice,” they wait for the elevator side by side, shoulders brushing ever so slightly. “I know you and the squad haven’t exactly been practicing playing nice since I got here but you should try it some time.”

FRIDAY, JULY 29
Manhattan, 7:42 PM
The driver refused to let her out.
A mile back, right after they passed the Hudson University campus, the clear road had given way to long stretches of traffic jam basking in the nearly set sun. Now the driver complained that his eyes were burning and that he could not possibly delay this delivery. He was already so late. What could happen to him if he screwed up again? Slaughtered, dumped at the bottom of the Hudson. Shot, locked in a barrel and sent to the only family he had left. Either way, it was certainly not as bad as what they were planning to do to this poor girl.
Lennie Holmes was curled up, the warm leather of the back seat burning the back of her thighs. She was suffocating in this car, all the more so since she had guessed the hazardous plans of the man behind the wheel. He fidgeted, his hair and forehead glistening with sweat as his fingers struggled to keep up with the beat of the radio. She had simply wanted to get back to campus faster.
Lennie had no other choice; with the vehicle at a standstill, she had to get away.
She sat up so slowly that her damp skin progressively peeled away from the leather. Hand squeezing the handle, she stopped, breathless, and looked up at the rear-view mirror. The man rubbed his eyes with his large fists, folding back the sunblind.
That was her signal.
The young woman pushed herself out of the car, tripping over her own feet. She ran, fast enough to lose her breath and gain a little time. He was behind her, at her heels, hand plunged behind his back to pull out his gun. If she had to die there, at least she'd have tried everything.
ϕ
Miles Langford was no man of God.
His neighborhood church hadn't seen him since his wedding. His father's cross had found a home in his bedside table drawer. And he hadn't said the blessings since he'd had dinner with his mother. His education should have made him very religious. He had attended catechism classes, taken part in the church choir and accompanied his parents every Sunday. His future was set.
—Lexi, slow the hell down!
The sleek black SUV took another sharp turn through traffic that had Miles nearly kissing the passenger window. He gripped his phone with one hand and the dashboard with the other, his jaw set. This was his life now. Far from the peace and quiet of the church and from his parents’ curses.
—I’m following your damn directions!
Behind the wheel, Alexis keeps her eyes glued on the road ahead, hands steady as she weaves in and out of lanes of vehicles. She has driven larger vehicles dozens of times, in worse conditions and on more dangerous roads. Yet, she managed to terrorize Miles every time she gets behind the wheel.
—You’re following them at the speed of a missile, he countered, squinting at his screen. I can’t even…shit, you’ve missed a turn!
—You said left!
—I was gonna say left!
The brunette swerved hard onto the next street, tires screeching. Beside her, her partner groaned, barely managing to keep track of the blinking dot on his screen — the suspect’s phone, still moving too fast. They could not lose him. Not now — so desperately close.
The case had landed on Alexis’ desk over the weekend. The file, then as thin as a sheet of paper, had been carefully placed at the top of her stack with a simple post-it note reading ‘GRAY. She hadn’t asked any more questions and had hurried off to bother Miles in his own office.
What had begun as a simple kidnapping quickly led the two agents to discover a much darker truth.
Stan, as he was known, had nothing working in his favor. Numerous complaints on his record for domestic violence and armed robbery. A wife and daughter gone from New York's polluted streets. And now charges of violent kidnapping, sexual assault and human trafficking were hanging over his head.
He certainly wasn't in charge of operations. Sure, he was tall and athletic, but not much of a thinking soul. He followed instructions precisely — taking on details of the girls, abducting them, abusing them and finally delivering them to the boss. In barely a week, he’d delivered at least three. Only he had made mistakes. Big mistakes.
—Okay, he’s heading east on–Jesus, Alexis! Brake!
Lines of stalling vehicles drew up in front of theirs as Alexis suddenly slammed the breaks. Miles felt his body lurch forward, only to fall back again, his head hitting the headrest. He closed his eyes.
Breathed in.
Then out.
Alexis was already outside the vehicle, her door left wide open. The blinking dot had stopped so close to them. The man had to be in line, only a few meters away. She surveyed the line of cars, the almost setting sun beating down on her.
She saw businessmen in wet shirts, groups of young people on their way to spend the weekend in the cool, mothers and children bewildered by the sight of a bulletproof vest and the FBI logo. Until she spotted his car — an old 2005 Ford Mustang. The driver and rear doors were open. The engine was still running. The leather in the back held a pair of women's shoes.
—Miles, get over here. I found his car.
The announcement was loud and clear in the agent’s earpiece. He was already on his way, his boots following the same route as those of his colleague. The car was indeed their suspect's - he recognized it by the false number plate on the back and the numerous scratches on the passenger door. He didn't need to see any more to be certain.
The scream that followed only confirmed their idea. It was raw, desperate, bordering on agony. A young woman of barely twenty-five sprinted toward them, her breathing ragged, terror rooted in her every step. Close behind, a man –their man– was charging her, gun in hand, his pace relentless.
—Help me! Please, help me. The victim collapsed in Miles' arms, clutching his bulletproof vest. He tried to kidnap me. He’s… He’s coming!
Frightened, she cowered against the agent, her dried-blooded hands covering her head. The poor girl was trembling so badly that Miles thought it was almost winter. He'd had to deal with dozens of victims in the course of his career - orphans, survivors and, sadly, women who'd sometimes barely escaped the inferno. Lennie Holmes was no different.
—Stanley Reed! FBI! yelled Alexis, her own weapon in hand. Put the weapon down and surrender!
Stanley hesitated for a moment. He had stopped in mid-stride at the sight of the feds, unsure of his next steps. The package was no longer in his possession. If he so much as set foot on the boss's premises, he was sure to die. He'd ruined everything. Lennie, sweet Lennie, was now in the arms of another man. He was sticky with sweat, a trail of scent following him. The beating of his heart was so intense it made his hands tremble. He couldn't surrender, it was impossible.
Alexis was on him as soon as he started running in the opposite direction. He was desperate enough to try and escape. She respected that; no one liked to admit defeat.
ϕ
Detective Amanda Rollins slammed the car door shut, eyes narrowing as she surveyed the scene. She had been told that the street was crowded with civilian vehicles. Now all that was left was the suspect's, the feds' and dozens of NYPD’s. There were officers on every street corner, near every building.
The Special Victims Unit had been called following a serious and alarming 911 call from a young woman, who had implied that she had escaped from a kidnapping.
It was a lot more than that.
—Uniforms have the perimeter locked down, reported Fin, coming up beside her. No sign of him yet.
Their suspect was on the run, somewhere within the perimeter. Last seen near his vehicle, before he ran off again. He could be anywhere - hiding in one of the buildings, threatening residents, or even up a tree. As implausible as it sounded, Amanda was no longer surprised by anything in this job.
Her lieutenant, Olivia Benson, stepped forward, scanning the scene, her instincts on high alert. She maintained that grave exterior, the kind that comes with years in this line of work–as a distasteful reward. Men like Reed, she'd met hundreds of them, each more sexually obsessed than the last. She knew they'd find him eventually.
Lennie Holmes was exactly the person they needed for this.
—Where’s our vic?
—With the fed. Amanda nodded toward a man and their likely victim. She hasn’t let go of him since he and his partner stepped in, not even when I took her statement.
The young woman had sheltered on the edge of an ambulance. Despite her shock, there was not the slightest sign of violence on her person. Blood under her fingernails, yes, but not hers. Beside her stood a man, brown curls falling almost in front of his eyes, a beard barely a few days old framing his jaw. His FBI-reading vest seemed to contain a muscular body, the kind ready for anything.
Olivia read directly into his behavior. How he stood close to the victim, listening, hands gripping the top of his vest, in order to establish a trusting bond while maintaining a certain distance from the young woman. He wasn't looking to play the hero or indulge some sense of dominance. And unlike the federal agents she'd encountered a few days earlier, the man didn't seem overly guarded.
—Lieutenant Benson? SVU?
The federal agent offered a polite smile to Olivia and her detectives, shaking hands first with her, then with Fin and Amanda.
—Special Agent Miles Langford. Violent Crimes Unit.
Violent Crimes Unit. Olivia had already heard about it. A unit of the Criminal Investigative Division in charge of kidnappings, serial murders, organized crime such as humans, drugs and weapons trafficking, and last but not least, high-profile homicides. If Stanley Reed was on their list, it wasn't to kill time.
—Mind telling me what’s going on?
—We’ve been tracking Stanley Reed for the past few days, started Miles, leading the detectives away from the ambulance. He’s connected to a human trafficking ring we’ve been trying to dismantle. He's not the mastermind, but he kidnaps the girls, abuses them and then delivers them to the boss.
Fin found the whole thing hard to believe. It wasn't the first time his path had crossed that of the feds. They were always ready to take all the credit, even if it meant stealing suspects and making them disappear. He shot Olivia a skeptical glance, arms folded against his chest.
—Then what? This girl gets kidnapped, calls the cops and you just happen to show up?
Miles seemed caught off guard. He was well accustomed to this quarrel between the police and the bureau; it was nothing out of the ordinary. Still, he was proud to say that he and Alexis managed to work easily with the NYPD under normal circumstances.
Perhaps Alexis's reputation actually had something to do with it.
A commotion from between the two buildings surprised everyone. A man, recognizable as Stanley Reed, climbed up the fire escape until he reached the stairs. He seemed to be limping, his thigh now red with blood, but even that did nothing to stop him. He was too focused on the woman after him.
Alexis was moving with purpose, her hands and feet finding purchase with practiced ease. She had no trouble hoisting herself up the ladder. Nor did she have any trouble catching up with Reed on the stairs. Within seconds, she was hoisting herself up on the roof, sprinting along the edge, effortlessly closing the gap between herself and the fleeing suspect.
—Who the hell is that? asked the newly arrived Carisi. Is she NYPD?
No one replied, not even Olivia. All eyes were fixed on the roof–on this unimaginable scene. Whoever this woman was, she was no ordinary civilian, the detectives were all equally convinced.
Stanley looked over his shoulder and caught a glimpse of the distance separating him from the agent. He had no other choice. The woman wouldn't follow him to the other side, would she? Despite the throbbing pain in his leg, he forced himself to pick up speed over the few meters he had left. In a last ditch effort, he launched himself off the roof, his body floating in slow motion before he crashed over to the other side, onto the second building.
Miles could feel everyone holding their breath. He was reassured–Alexis wasn't just making him nauseous. He could have forbidden her to jump via her earpiece, but he knew her all too well and was therefore more afraid of distracting her than anything else. So he covered his eyes with his hand, unable to watch his partner play top athlete.
Alexis followed suit. Her body gently adjusted to the motion, as if she were used to it. For those on the ground, it lasted hours; for her, just a few seconds. She landed on the other side in a perfect roll, bringing her straight to her feet.
—It’s over, Stanley! she called, weapon back in her hands. Stanley just stopped, back facing her. Get down on your knees and show me your hands!
ϕ
Carisi let out a low whistle, shaking his head as he kept his eyes fixed on the roof. He couldn’t believe it. He knew he would have lost the suspect by now if it had been him. Who's crazy enough to jump from one roof to another? His lieutenant would have lost her mind by now if anyone in the unit had attempted this.
—Well, that’s new.
Fin ignored him, moving closer to Miles again. This little act may have impressed the youngsters, but it certainly didn’t impress him. He's seen it all before.
—How did you get here just in time?
—We were tracking his phone, explains Miles under Tutuola’s glare. We didn't know about the girl. We saw an opportunity to catch him and followed it.
—You believe him?
Olivia rubbed her face gently. It's Friday night. She could have had dinner at home with her son and Ed. Instead, she's stuck with the feds.
—Miles, stop bothering the Lieutenant.
A hoarse voice was heard as the building's front door slammed in the distance. For the first time, the unit could take a look at the young woman from the roof. Brown hair pulled back into a bun that's seen better days, cargo pants, a simple plain T-shirt, tactical bulletproof vest and tactical boots to finish it all off.
This woman wasn’t from the NYPD or FBI.
No matter what she said.
—Why don’t you get our new friend here ready for his ride?
Alexis pushed the handcuffed Stanley over to Miles, a smile on her face. It wasn’t cocky or petty, or even ear-to-ear. No, it was quiet, discreet–an ounce of teasing to remind her partner that he had nothing to worry about. It was enough for Miles to roll his eyes and lead the criminal to the SUV via a grip on his shoulder.
As soon as the suspect was out of the way and the victim on the way to the precinct with Amanda, Olivia turned her full attention to the young woman facing her. Hard to imagine that such a person had just climbed to one building's rooftop to jump to another. It was reckless. Foolish, even.
—You didn’t think to loop us in before chasing a suspect across rooftops?
Carisi had often heard this tone coming from his superior. They’d all heard it before, in fact. Olivia was the longest-serving member of the unit. She was also the one in charge of damage control, of setting rules and making sure they were applied. The police tended to lose far too many of their officers to reckless acts. Under her leadership, that wouldn't happen.
—Lieutenant Benson, right? Alexis simply offered her hand after removing her glove. Special Agent Alexis Gray, FBI. You’ve met my partner, Miles.
Olivia was met by a calm and respect she'd never encountered from a Federal. There was something special about the way Gray had shaken her hand. Like a way of saying that she wasn't the enemy, that it was all a misunderstanding.
—We’ve been after Reed for days. I had no intent of cutting you off from the case. Alexis sounded honestly sorry. She walked a few steps with the Lieutenant before coming to a halt again. We were caught off guard when we arrived on the scene. Lennie Holmes is at least the fourth woman to fall victim to Stanley. We never expected to catch him red-handed.
Peering over the agent’s shoulder, Olivia caught a glimpse at Fin’s doubtful expression. She could already hear him saying that the feds were all the same, and these two didn't stand out. They were going to lose their suspect, lose their victim and then their case. At least, that's what normally happened. But Fin didn’t know Gray.
No one really did. Not yet.

Note
If the Law and Order people wanted to impress someone on a date, what would they go for?
Pairings || Law and Order SVU characters x GN!Reader
Contents/Warnings || First date fluff, mentions of alcohol, mentions of anxiety sorta
Authors Note || sorry that asks are coming out slowly, i’ve been hyperfixating on a different fandom :’)
Tumblr media
Rafael Barba
Flowers on the first date kinda man
Would take you somewhere expensive
Probably a quiet, fancy restaurant where the two of you could have nice conversations in a calm environment
Refuses to let you pay, not even half
If it’s going well, he’d maybe want to walk around the city afterwards so your conversations can continue
He definitely planned all of this to try to be impressive
Tumblr media
Sonny Carisi
Instead of a restaurant, he’d want to cook for you
His cooking skills are impressive enough
But he also impresses you just by being himself— an attentive listener and a perfect gentleman
Doesn’t mean he’s not freaking out on the inside, though
You can tell
Probably would google how to impress someone on a first date tbh
Tumblr media
Olivia Benson
Hybrid bookstore/coffee shop date
Isn’t really worried about “impressing” you, so she just acts as she normally would
Would want to pay for your coffee though
And unintentionally impresses you by the amount of books she’s read and the conversations she makes
But who wouldn’t be impressed by her in general anyways?
Tumblr media
Amanda Rollins
Paint and sip class !!
She’s confident and isn’t very nervous
The sip part of the class definitely helps calm any nerves that arise
Thinks the paint and sip is fun for a first date
And hopes maybe it’s just a little impressive
Tumblr media
Fin Tutuola
Wouldn’t be great at planning the date himself
Either Olivia helps or you’re the one planning the date
He’s also definitely more nervous than he says he is
Despite this, he impresses you with how funny he is
Also offers to pick you up to go wherever you decide
And pay for anything, or at least split costs if you try to decline his offer
Tumblr media
Joe Velasco
Dinner date at his favourite restaurant
Really, really hopes you like the food as much as he does
Possibly a nightcap afterwards so you’ll have more time to talk and continue the date
He tries a little too hard to impress you by trying to show off his knowledge on any subject you bring up
But you can tell he’s anxious
But the fact that he’s trying so hard is cute
Tumblr media
Elliot Stabler
Central park date
Walking around a bit, sitting and talking on a bench, getting drinks and food from any food carts that are around
Tries to impress you by paying for anything you want and being attentive
He’s a little awkward
And protective despite it being the first date

✧ Mama Bear
Olivia Benson x teen daughter reader + younger brother Noah (ft. Amanda & Fin)
Warnings: fluff, slight descriptions of vomiting
In which, reader falls sick for the first time in a long time, driving Olivia into full on mama bear mode while having to juggle work and also making sure that Noah was taken care of
Olivia was making breakfast when she heard your usual morning alarm clock go off. However, when you didn’t turn it off like you usually would, she initially thought you just wanted to laze in bed for a little bit. Still ten minutes go by, you didn’t walk out and your alarm went off again. That caused alarms to go off in her head. Olivia turned the stove off and walked up to your room, knocking on the door.
“y/n, time to wake up, honey.” She opens the door after that, surprised to see your curtains closed and the blanket basically covering your head completely.
“No.” You mumbled into your pillow.
You never did this. “Honey, what’s wrong?” Her immediate reaction was honestly to worry, but she didn’t show it. Obviously. But it’s not like you could see her face.
“My head hurts so bad, Mom.” You croaked.
Now, the panic really set in. She hasn’t heard you admit you weren’t feeling well in at least 3 years. It was always an occasional cold or headache that you got, but this time around? You were really beaten down.
“Is sissy okay, mama?” Noah asked, Olivia turned her head to see him standing in your doorway.
“She’ll be okay, she’s just not feeling too good this morning. Give me a minute and I’ll bring you breakfast, okay, honey?”
“Okay.” The boy agreed quickly and left you and Olivia alone again.
“Baby, can you sit up for me please?” She requested, her hand rubbing your back comfortingly, “Is it just your head that hurts?”
“I don’t know.” You managed to tell her, your lower lip quivering, signalling to her that you were about to cry. Something she’s always knew about you- you cry easily when you’re ill. “My ears? I can’t- I can’t really hear that well on one side.”
“Oh, I think you have an ear infection, sweetheart.” Olivia realised, “Just- stay here and give me a minute to get Noah sorted.”
Olivia rushed back outside to give Noah his breakfast of pancakes and scrambled eggs then grabbed her phone to text Lucy to come over and keep an eye on Noah, then she texts Fin to tell him that she won’t be at work that morning, explaining why as well. He didn’t even need an explanation.
————
The doctor confirms Olivia’s suspicions of an ear infection. A double ear infection, an after effect of a cold which caused there to be fluid buildup in your inner ears and a bit of hearing loss — which thankfully, will resolve once the prescribed antibiotics kick in and run its full course. The doctor also gave you three days off of school in order to recuperate. But let’s face it, even if she didn’t, you would’ve stayed home anyway- even normal talking had you flinching. You couldn’t imagine spending a whole day in school feeling like this. Your head also felt like it was going to explode if people kept talking to you. It even hurt to open your mouth- so eating was the least of your worries currently. Finally, after a noisy drive, you were back home. Once the front door opened, Noah tackled you with a hug. “Hi, bubby.”
“Sorry you’re not feeling good.”
“Thanks, bub.” You ran a hand through his hair.
“y/n, go to your room and I’ll bring you a little something to eat before you take your meds, hm?”
“Okay.” You quietly agreed and walked into your room.
“So, what’d the doctor say?” Asked Lucy.
“Double ear infection, bit of a hearing loss in one ear but it’ll go away once the meds take effect.”
“That’s good. Do you want me to just keep an eye on her too so you can go to work? I know how much you hate missing work.”
Olivia chuckles, “Ah, I think a bit of time off would do me some good. I already told my squad I won’t be going in today.”
Lucy nodded.
“Yeah, so you can go if you want.” Olivia says.
“No, it’s okay. My day’s free. It’ll probably be better if I stay for a little longer, at least. Seeing that you probably need to take care of y/n.”
“Thank you.” Olivia smiled lightly, proceeding to go boil some water in the electric kettle in order to make you some oatmeal. She slathers a couple tablespoons of peanut butter onto the top of the oatmeal before bringing it to you on a tray, along with a cup of water.
The worst symptom was the unpredictable, sudden stabbing pains that you’d get that will literally bring tears to your eyes. “Okay, I need the painkillers.” You told your mother decisively.
“I’ll bring it for you now. But here’s some oatmeal so the meds won’t hurt your stomach, okay?”
“Thanks, Mom.”
Flashing you a smile, she leaves the room to retrieve your medications from the dining table. You fought through the ache and ate a few spoonful of the goop, though you actually really liked it…despite how unpleasant it may look. Your Mom knew exactly what you liked to eat and how you liked it.
“Here, take this for the pain and fever first. Eat a bit more oatmeal then take one of these antibiotics pills, okay?” She took them out for you, then she just sits there with you. You nodded wordlessly and just did as she told you to.
“Take the antibiotic pill with the oatmeal, honey.” She suggested- no, reminded you. “I know it’s hard for you to do it, but please?”
You whined.
“You need to take it, baby.” She cups your cheek, stroking it with her thumb, “Otherwise the pain will just get worse and we don’t want that.”
You held your breath and put the pill in your mouth, swiftly chasing it with a spoonful of oatmeal. You swallowed the whole mouthful before the chalky medicine could dissolve too much.
“That’s my girl.” Olivia smiled of relief, “Okay, you still want the oatmeal?”
“No, thanks.”
“Alright, I’ll take of that. You get some rest.”
————
When evening comes around, you were still asleep. You fell asleep a good four hours ago and only got woken up when you heard a new voice. Wait- it was one you recognised. Fin’s
“She’s in her room. Asleep.” You heard your Mom tell him.
“It’s okay, I just wanted to drop this off. Got her a little something to cheer her up.”
You groggily sat up in your bed then stood up, dragging yourself on your feet to the bathroom. Randomly shivering, now that you were away from the warmth of your sheets and blanket. You hurriedly washed your face with the cleanser to rid it of the greasy feeling. When you made your way out to the living room, he was still there, playing with Noah.
“Oh, you’re up.” Olivia realises.
“Yup.” You forced a smile.
“Hey.” Fin greeted you.
“Hi Fin. Thanks for the uh…thing you got me.” You said.
“No problem. It’s just a little something.” He shrugs.
“Mom, where- where’s my water bottle? I can’t find it. I thought I had it in my room.”
“Ah, I just washed and refilled it for you. It’s in the fridge.” Olivia recalls. While you drank some of that cold water to hydrate, Fin was chatting with your Mom- Telling her she didn’t have to worry about work. But you all knew her and knew that as much as she was a loving mother, she also loved her job and would be working all day if life allowed her to.
“Just go back to work tomorrow.” You pretty sure you slurred.
The adults glanced at you, slightly amused. “You heard her.” Fin says.
“Are you sure?” Oliva asks.
“I’ll just be clingy tonight, then I’m pretty sure I’ll feel a bit better tomorrow- better enough to not be clingy.” You shrugged, sitting at the table, gripping onto your cold, olive coloured Nalgene with both hands. Noah laughs. You did too.
Your gaze falls on the box of chocolate on the table in front of you. Your fingers reached out to peel off the clear plastic wrap. “Ooh, can I have one? Please, sissy?”
“Sure, Noah.” You cleared your throat, chuckling. “Here, pick one.”
“Yay!” He cheered, jumping off the couch and running over to you to take a look at the selection.
“Fin, you really shouldn’t have.” Olivia says.
“Can’t stop me. Or Carisi and Rollins who are on their way with dinner.” He shrugs.
“Oh, my God.” Liv inhales. “You can’t be serious.”
“Do I look like I wanna mess with you right now?” He squinted, “Look, I got one grandkid, the squad’s kids are like my own, too. Just let me spoil ‘em once in awhile.”
“Once in awhile? You get her a box of chocolates and some chips every month.”
Fin laughs, “We all need a little treat.”
As if on cue, there was a string of knocks on the door, making you jump and seethe in pain. Noah looks at you worriedly for a moment. “I’m okay, bubs. Just my ears being a little sore.”
He nodded, quickly more interested in the box of chocolates once again. Liv got up to answer the door, giving you a squeeze on the shoulder when she walked by you.
“Sorry, I should’ve given them the heads up to not knock.” Fin said.
“It’s- it’s fine, don’t worry about it.”
————
Unexpectedly, your stomach felt heavy after dinner. Like it just did not feel right. But, everyone else seemed right as rain. You deduced that it must’ve been a side effect of the antibiotics. By then, Fin and Carisi had left, Noah was sitting with Olivia and Amanda when you got up from your seat on the couch, leaving Amanda alone chatting with your Mom. You quietly retreated to your bedroom, and sat on your bed, wishing for the sickening feeling to pass.
You hear the creaking of your door, causing you to look up. Amanda leans on the doorframe asking if you were okay. “Uh, not really?”
“Do you need me to get your mom?”
“I don’t- think so. Just the antibiotics making me feel a little, ugh.” You took in a sharp breath, then a sip of water- slowly. “Oh, God.” You jerked, scrambling to your bathroom. A very worried Amanda trails after you. The little bit of food you had for dinner spills out from your mouth, leaving an extremely uncomfortable burning sensation in your throat. You felt a hand on your back, and the blonde’s voice assuring you at you were okay. Seconds later, another voice- your Mom’s.
“She’s alright. The antibiotics upset her stomach.” Amanda says. “You ready to get back into bed?”
You nodded, “I want to- uh, rinse my mouth.”
“Okay, easy, easy. You got it.” Amanda held onto you while you hear your Mom fluffing your pillows then she leaves, and returns. You hear the sound of a plastic trash can hit your floor.
Amanda helps you back into bed, your Mom pulls the blanket up to cover you properly. “Thanks.” You smiled, now feeling a tad embarrassed about what’d just happened.
“Don’t mention it,” The blonde smiled, “Feel better soon, hun. I’m gonna get goin’, Liv. I’ll see you back at work soon,”
“Alright. Good night, Amanda.”
You watched her leave, then your gaze pans over to your Mom. “Don’t worry about me. I’m fine- go back to work tomorrow.”
“Okay, okay.” Olivia agrees, “I’m gonna leave your door open, so if anything- I can probably hear you better, alright?”
“Alright.” You shrugged.
She presses a kiss to the crown of your head,“Good night, sweet girl.”
