oh yeah basically the ova did happen in our au, somewhen around the classic era when sonic was like 12 (a little before adventure) sonic tails knux and eggman are sent far into the future by accident and they sorta just chill out there for a few months./ the ova happens pmuch 1:1 as it did originally except knux cant literally fly and hyper metal sonic doesnt explode at the end - sonic manages to save them but then eggman steals em away and when they get back to the present eggman basically Seals em away, fully repaired, for like 9 years until neo metal (my girl) defects from the eggman empire and eggman upgrades, updates and then lets hyper metal loose. but bc eggman didnt remember to remove any of the shit that made hyper who they were/are and just added more stuff to make em violent against sonic, their care for him and want to be a good guy stuck

since they want to be besties w sonic still, share his pain, but also have a ton of shit in them screaming at them to destroy sonic, they get the urge out through alternative methods

either way, after a bunch of being sent to destroy neo and sonic, tails manages to capture hyper, get rid of most of the bad programming (after they essentially beg him to) and now theres two metals :] yay

Sonic getting really mad and annoyed at how much Metal begins to hang out with Amy, and seemingly growing really closer, whenever someone points it out he begins to blush and get really defensive over answering anything. Everyone thinks he's jealous of Metal...

Until Amy brings it out saying how it's okay to be jealous and stuff and then he finally snaps and reveals to Amy that he isn't jealous of Metal, he's jealous of HER. Cue to everyone who was eavesdropping go flabbergasted immediately.

Heroes & Cons

Set in the future, this canon-adjacent AU primarily features Sonic/Shadow/Metal Sonic as the main interests. Sonic is 31 in current events, and he’s been bestowed with one of Metal’s arms, given freely, after a battle that took his right arm. Heroes & Cons follows closely the theme of overcoming, legacy, and immortality. This is basically a “If children and marriage aren’t in Sonic and Shadow’s future, what kind of future could they build in a world that needs them?” scenario. Also features: open relationships/multiple partners, exploration of humanity in robots, a redefining of what a family can be, and what kind of complicated situationship Sonic and Shadow have going on in particular. Sonadow, Sonmetal, Metadow, and all three together are mainly explored here.

Service Animal AU

In an alternate world where Maria lived, G.U.N. never raided the ARK, Shadow the hedgehog has been raised as a lifelong service companion to Maria. His chaos abilities are amplified for healing rather than destruction, and his unwavering devotion toward her wellbeing in the search for a cure for her illness means Shadow hasn’t given thought to living for himself. When he meets a strange Mobian named Sonic, his uncomfortable reality is shined upon, and he realizes what Maria’s been hoping for him to discover all along; he needs to figure out what his own path will be. This au is Sonadow and heavily explores a more complex and deeply powerful bond that exists between Shadow and Maria as ‘service animal’ and ‘charge’ as well as best friends.

knux n sonic have a super chill open relationship but sometimes sonic sorta forgets that n worries knux will be judging him on like. american equivalent society's standards. while knux is here truly forgetting wtf a monogamy and polyamory are simply bc theyre not relevant to him and he doesnt rlly give a shit tbh. so after a while of sonic being in a sorta weird almost qpr w hyper metal sonic it goes to knux like "uhh sorry for cheating on you. if you want to break up and kill me forever you can" n knux is just like "...we havent trained in weeks and we never gamble against each other anymore. what are you even talking about."
