perspective (giant sonic story
chapter 1:
Cold. It was so cold. No, no not Cold. Freezing. Freezing was the only word you could describe this situation. Curiosity got the best of you.. Again instead of travelling from the loud and booming noises you wanted to see what was happening. So being you, you went forward to see what it was. Damn.. "you muttered under your breath, shivering. Looking to your left to see nothing but a trees , Same with your right. It looked like there was no easy way out of this you were completely lost. How could someone be so reckless? Your gut screamed out for you to stop but you didn't listen. This is such a bad mistake.
The ground started to rumble, causing you to immediately look around, but.. Nothing. Nothing was there.
"alright, well may as well see what was causing all the tremors before you die of hyperthermia. You began to run towards the direction of the noise, while silently screaming at the fact you couldn't feel your hands anymore. Maybe this would warm you up even just a little bit for warmth would be better than being freezing. You continued your run and turned a sharp left into a clearing, only to halt to an immediate stop, attempting to muffle a screech at the sight that lay before you. Literally.
A giant- a real giant blue hedgehog was staring up at the sky with a sad expression on his face. He looked male, he had bright green emerald eyes.
He wore bright red sneakers and white gloves, who the heck made clothes that big anyway?! He hadn't noticed you yet, a human  practically hyperventilating, with H/C hair and E/C eyes, staring at him with a star-struck expression.
Ok what what were you actually supposed to do?! run? Hide? Had he heard you? Okay, your just gonna sneak away, yeah! Yeah let's just go with that! You took a step back, and slipped. Slightly letting out a small squeak. Had he heard you? Wincing, you looked up, allowing you to meet his with his. His head had snapped in you direction, staring at you with curiosity " Hey! " a smile spread across the giant hedgehogs lips as he sat up straight. Your expression (and your heart) dropped and you took three hasty steps backwards, slipping in the mud. " Hey wait! " Doing the opposite of what he asked, you turned on your heel and dashed away, heading back into the thicker part of the forest. To say you were petrified would be an understatement.
Just as you were about to get out of the clearing, you ran into something. A white, fabric wall. You yelled out in fright and nearly fell backwards, but caught yourself, and sprinted away from the hand, but still away from the from the giant. You were halted again by the other hand.
Both hands closed together, and you felt the giant blue hedgehog get down onto his chest, creating an effective barrier. You were trapped. "Wait! Don't go just yet! "the booming voice and the words were dripping with curiosity.
You spun around to be meeted by gigantic emerald irises, Staring at you intensely. " Woah, your tiny! " he exclaimed loudly, thrusting his face even closer to you. His sudden movements and loudness made you flinch. And step backwards, hands raised in alarm. "Actually scratch that, your itty - bitty!" he laughed, but quickly noticed your soaked and freezing form. "Sweet chaos, how long have you been out here! ?" the giants piercing gaze looked over your trembling form. " You look freezing! " I-I.. " you couldn't find any words and continued to stare up at the enormous being, shaking partially out of the cold and partially out of fear. You weren't even as big as his hand!
" aw come here, your shaking " the hands that blocked the path behind you were pulled towards you and scooped you up before you could protest. He pulled you to his chest and leaned away from the ground as you held back a scream. He sat up straight and adjusted his position.
" I uh.. I'm sonic, sonic the hedgehog" he spoke in a friendly manner "I.. I'm Y-Y/N.." you stuttered, still looking at sonic with fear. You appreciated the warmth of his hands, but also desperately wanted to be put down. You were terrified. You watched in terror as the gigantic blue hedgehogs finger tip that was bigger then your face came towards you. You jolted back as it touched your face gently, holding up your hands defensively as if it would do something.
"hey, hey, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, I won't hurt you."  the blue giant promised. You wish you could believe him however it turned out to be very hard to trust a being fifty times your size. Sonic scowled at the sky as hail began to spat out by clouds. You were pulled closer to his chest. But kept in view of him. He seemed to be studying your feature, from your hair colour. To your outfit, which was not fit for this type of weather. "what were you thinking going out like this?" sonic asked you with concern in his voice
You paused before responding thinking about the right words to use ".. I.. I didn't think it was going to rain.." you responded quietly
"how did you not see the giant rain clouds heading here? They've been there all day!" sonic scolded, averting his gaze to the sky which seemed to be the only thing above him. Where do you need to be? I'll take you there. "
No! You exclaimed almost as soon as you offered, before correcting yourself "I-I mean.. I-I can walk b-by myself.." you just wanted to leave. He didn't seem to have bad intentions  but you couldn't risk this. You needed to get back to the abandon building for shelter.
I can't let you do that, you'll freeze! " he looked at you with concerned eyes, leaning back slightly. Have ya got a death wish or something?" you didn't respond to that. You were too busy thinking of ways to escape. The question almost slipped past you. How could you leave. "c-could you please put me down? I don't l-like being up so high.." you changed the subject.
"o-oh right! Yeah, course" sonic sounded a little bit disappointed at your request, but nonetheless lowered you to the ground. As soon as your legs touched the ground you almost collapsed. Your knees trembled, and your instincts were screaming at you to run. It took all of your mental will not to sprint away.
It's Ok, it's okay, if he wanted to hurt me, he would have done it by now Y/N. Give him a benefit of a doubt. " you thought " Your really small you know" he smirked
"I'm not! Your just huge!."you exclaimed . You would not be called tiny by a giant. " don't lie to yourself! "sonic laughed" your tiny and adorable! " he poked your face making you stumble back a little." oh sorry! I guess I don't know my own strength " the poke did startle you, but you stayed calm, and rolled your eyes, relaxing slightly. You still didn't let your guard down. Though. Sonic had his hand over your head for shelter from the freezing cold ice that flew down from the sky" aren't you c-cold?" you asked rubbing your arms slightly.
" kinda, but not really much I can do about it" sonic responded showing a gentle smile " but worry about yourself, your in much worse condition."
Well you couldn't deny that.. Your top was absolutely soaked and your hair was a mess and darker then it's usual colour, with hail nesting on top of your head. You had nothing else to say, you were still speechless. This shouldn't be possible and yet.. Here it is
You just wanted to leave, to get back to your "home " or something anything! " I-I need to get home.." you spoke slowly without making eye contact. You looked down. Fiddling with your hands. Why were you scared? He hadn't hurt you, and doesn't seem like he wanted to. So why were you trembling so bad!?
" Damn right you do! "
"L-Look, I know your worried, but my house isn't far away, and the trees are good cover from the rain" you reasoned nodding to yourself "I can get there by myself"
Sonic seemed to think for a moment before deciding on something. "fine. But you have to come back here on a.. Better weathered day, y'know, to show me your Okay" he proposed, holding out his hand for a shake. You blinked a few twice. Was he serious? He was! "yeah yeah that's fine!" you spoke a little too eagerly, throwing your hand out to shake one of his fingers " promise? " You took a deep breath. " I promise"

Aeron the hedgehog
Tumblr media
Appearance: Aeron the Hedgehog's appearance is distinct with bright blue fur covering most of his body, accompanied by peach-colored skin on his muzzle and front torso. His smaller, leaner blue eyes convey intelligence, while a red nose and freckles near his nose add character. Pointed, small ears sit atop his head. Aeron's stature is shorter with a spiky, bright blue fur-covered body. He is not particularly handsome, to other inhabitants he is considered below average looking. Despite not conforming to typical standards of mobian attractiveness, Aeron's appearance emphasizes his individuality and unpretentious nature. This distinctiveness aligns with his introspective personality and heroic role in the Sonic Boom world.
Wardobe: His attire combines functionality with personal style. He wears a circular watch, embodying his appreciation for precision. Apricot brown gloves offer both comfort and dexterity. A custom painted button serves as a unique accessory, showcasing his creativity. A buttoned-up, dark grey vest symbolizes his strategic mindset. The vest's symmetrical pocket designs, including welt and safari pockets, highlight his attention to detail. Within Aeron the Hedgehog's buttoned-up dark grey vest, there conceals a sizable hidden pocket. His choice of dark grey and apricot brown leather boots merges practicality and fashion. Notably, he eschews excessive jewelry, avoiding necklaces and earrings.
Backstory:
Aeron the Hedgehog was born into a world filled with adventure and heroism in the Sonic Boom dimension. He hailed from a country, Serbo Republic ruled by Prime Minister Charles the Hedgehog. Aeron move to Seaside Island as he was assigned as mayor of Hedgehog village. His sister, Zooey later moved with him after their mother passed away.
Living in Seaside Island, Aeron's life was marked by exciting escapades and thrilling encounters. He formed a deep bond with his cousin, Sonic the Hedgehog, and together, they embraced the life of heroes, protecting their world from various threats.
Personality:
Aeron possessed a mix of sensitivity and courage. He was emotionally in tune with himself and those around him, which allowed him to understand the complexities of the situations he encountered. While he wasn't as outgoing as Sonic, he had a strong sense of duty and would rise to the occasion whenever his skills were needed.
His introspective nature helped him contemplate the consequences of his actions, making him a thoughtful and strategic hero. Despite facing dangers, Aeron always managed to keep his composure and approach challenges with a level-headed attitude.
Relationships:
Aeron's bond with his cousin, Sonic, was unbreakable. They shared a deep camaraderie and worked seamlessly as a team during their adventures. Aeron's presence brought a sense of balance to Sonic's daring nature, and his counsel was highly valued by the entire Team Sonic.
With Dexter, he shares a bond of trust and camaraderie, void of the rivalry and tension that marked Dexter's interactions with Sonic. Aeron's understanding nature and ability to mediate contribute to their strong friendship.
Similarly, Aeron's relationship with Amy is characterized by respect and understanding. Amy's respect for Aeron stems from his introspective and sensitive persona. Aeron's unique qualities, including his retreating nature and sensitivity, allow him to provide crucial emotional support to Amy without being scolded. In both cases, Aeron's ability to bridge differences and offer insights showcases his role as a compassionate friend and strategic thinker.
Tails, the genius inventor and mechanic of Team Sonic, respected Aeron's intelligence and strategic thinking. They often collaborated on developing plans to counter the villains' schemes.
Abilities:
Aeron's combat skills were exceptional, with a focus on hand-to-hand combat and his mastery of the bomb. He remotely activate the bomb with his remote. He could swiftly maneuver around enemies with his agility and speed, using his spear with deadly precision to disarm opponents without causing unnecessary harm.
Apart from his combat prowess, Aeron's keen intellect made him a vital asset to Team Sonic. He excelled in strategizing and planning, and his ability to assess situations quickly allowed the team to navigate through challenges effectively.
Hobbies: Aeron's hobbies reflect his intellect and heroism: he engages in chess and strategy games, reads and analyzes complex texts, crafts intricate jewelry, and expresses his sensitivity through drawing and sketching. These activities nourish his strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and artistic sensibilities
Legacy: Tragically, Aeron met his untimely demise during a dimensional war at the Morpho Dimension when he was only 15-16 years old. His loss left a profound impact on Team Sonic and the entire Sonic Boom world. Aeron's dedication to heroism, combined with his sensitivity and strategic mind, made him an unforgettable hero.
Team Sonic continued to be inspired by Aeron's memory, and they kept his spear as a symbol of their fallen comrade. His legacy became a reminder of the importance of emotional intelligence and thoughtful decision-making in the face of danger.
In the Sonic Boom world, Aeron the Hedgehog was celebrated as a heroic figure who exemplified the best traits of a true hero: courage, intelligence, and a compassionate heart.

Hisoka is working on the finest painting ever before he hears footsteps. He doesn’t have to look back to know who it is. “H-Hisoka-Kun!” Sonic chimes, running like a typical anime girl in his pink, glittery and short dress.
Chuckling, Hisoka puts away his supplies, turning all of his attention to his kitten whiskers… “Heh.” (Pretend this is in font) “What’s my little kitten, sugar boo boo bear doing here..” Sonic blushes, pressing the fingertips of his index fingers together like Belle Dalphine or whatever her name is idfk! “I just wanted to spend time with my sugar dada…” Sonic explains, blush spreading across his cheeks. Hisoka smirks; 😏, he hugs Sonic’s waist and pulls him in tighter.
“How about we paint something together, then?” Sonic blushes, as the hedgehog has no experience in art.
Hisoka looks at Sonic and starts to unbuckle his belt.. "Oh, baby... I'm gonna BUST! You won't be ready for the pleasure I am about to give you... The fact you're only 16 too... I'm biting my fingernails at the thought...."
Sonic is stunned by the boldness in Hisoka's tone.. "You turn me on bad with that language... I can't wait to dive right into this gorgeous hairy BLEEP of yours..."
Hisoka pushes Sonic against the wall, Sonic gives in and lets go and then Hisoka accidentally drops him on his head and Sonic starts bleeding from his head and remains unconscious..
“OH MY GOD.. SONIC!! IM SO SORRY!” *he picked up sonic and rushed to the hospital as he starting crying on his face. “I NEED A DOCTOR!” Hisoka frantically searched around. They took sonic in. *After a few hours* The doctor approached Hisoka as he sadly announced. “Oh god.. I don’t know how to tell you this b-but.. Your sonic ..I-is dead…” Hisoka got up and stared at the doctors face. “what did you just say? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?” Hisoka ran to the surgery room as he saw Sonia’s lifeless corpse staring at the ceiling. “….. im so sorry..I never even got to make that special painting for you.. im sorry.” Hisoka then pulled out a glock and shot himself in the face Infront of all the doctors. He thought he would go to heaven to see sonic.. but his soul went to the depths of hell. He forgot he liked children. He never saw sonics pure soul again, as sonic looks down on Hisoka burning in hell.

I should really finish this story!
Growing Pains
Chapter One: Senses
Tap. Tap. Tap.
This was followed by an oddly familiar voice. His ear twitched, struggling to understand the meaning behind these words. As he is trying to wake, his eyes refused to open just yet, but his hearing was becoming sharper by the second. He could not only hear voices, but now the sound of the machines humming, and beeping.
“Maria, honey, don’t tap on the glass please.” This voice sounded tired, but when he spoke to the curious little girl he spoke with kindness and a faint stern tone at the same time. Maria looked up at her grandfather who towered above her as she laid on the floor inches away from the tube that hosted grandfather’s new creation.
“Sorry.” She smiled innocently, and then looked over at this creation who was curled in a ball. “Where’s that green stuff?”
“They were nutrients, my dear.” The scientist corrected softly, leaving her side to punch in something on a computer across the room. “I drained it. It appears to be growing rapidly, than expected.” He squinted at the computer screen as he read the wall of text.
“I wanna name him!” Maria jumped up, rushing over to the tube protecting the creation from the outside world.
“….Name him? Oh, it’s-”
“I like Shadow.”
The scientist finally turned and faced the six-year-old, his eyebrow raised slightly. “Why Shadow, my dear?”
“Because of his black fur, silly!” She looked at him with those pure blue eyes that would make him give her the whole world, if possible. “Don’t you like it?”
Honestly, he couldn’t disagree. However, the sponsors, and G.U.N may scoff and roll their eyes at Prof.Gerald growing soft and actually naming his creations rather than giving them numbers. He could hear them all now: “it’s like it is your damn pet!” or “what’s next? a leash?!” something along those lines. Tch, if only they knew the real reason why he created Shadow in the first place. He exhaled “it’s just fine, sweetie.” At his approval, she embraced the adult.
“Aren’t you gonna let him out, grandpa?”
No doubt she’s looking to play some games, and form a friendship with Shadow at least. She was always like this with any creation, even if they eventually died. Although, she wasn’t a big fan of the lizard that he had in his lab. “It’s not time yet, Maria.” Gerald walked over to the machine where this hose was connected to the the tube, while some Shadow was hooked up to some IVs. Not exactly the most comfortable way to live. Gerald could read the disappointment on her granddaughter’s face. “In due time, but first he needs to open his eyes. And I have to double check on his vitals.” The rest of his explanation Maria couldn’t quite understand at such a young age, but anymore questions his granddaughter may have had were dropped.
                                                         **
The next few days Shadow was making incredible progress. All of his senses were clearer, he could smell things that made him feel kinda sick to his stomach, and although his vision was blurry he could actually make out his creator’s figure whenever he stood before him. There were other beings in the lab every day, they would only give him a glance, before talking to Prof.Gerald. Shadow eventually uncurled from his tight ball, trying to roll over onto his stomach and perhaps sit up. Before long, Shadow was asleep again due to the strange liquid flowing through his IVs, and into his veins. He slept for approximately the rest of the day, until he was awaken by a familiar tap on the glass however, it wasn’t as persistent as before. He blinked, and then closed his eyes tightly. The lights in the room were hard to get use to after being asleep for so long, so he strained to keep them open without feeling them sting. He managed to roll over onto his stomach, and crane his head to see a young girl resting her hands against the glass that blocked any physical touch. She smiled at him, and waved. Whatever was spoken, it was muffled because of the thick glass, just like the rest of the noises outside of his “home”. She would linger for hours and hours throughout the day, showing him pictures she drew, some of her favorite books eventually reading a couple to him. This continued on for weeks and weeks. His creator didn’t act like he minded any of this, and would continue on with his business. Later, Maria was escorted out of the laboratory when more beings in lab coats came in. They talked among themselves, before crowding around Shadow. Gerald nodded to them, and walked over to the machine connected to Shadow’s tube. There was a lever, a code that Gerald punched in, and soon a loud hissing noise that made Shadow shiver and curl up in a ball. His quills were not much protection being a “newborn”, leaving him vulnerable.
“Never understood why you picked Hedgehog DNA, Professor.” The tallest gentleman scoffed, slightly.
“They have feisty personalities.” Prof. Gerald calmly answered, and ventured toward his creation, trying to encourage him to uncurl. He witnessed Shadow’s ear twitch upon hearing his voice, and his footsteps. “It’s okay.” It was as if Gerald was trying to coax a shy child to introduce himself. Slowly, as expected, Shadow uncurled - looking at his creator first before looking at the other strange figures. His pulse was elevating when he realized that was he no longer behind a thick glass. The judging looks from the humans weren’t exactly helping. Where was that sweet girl that read to him?
“So, is this suppose to the Ultimate Weapon?”
“…Did you hear it has a name, like a pet?!” One of the shortest men whispered to the other, he glanced at the creator.
“Is that true?” Another spoke up, eyebrows narrowing. “Sir, with all due respect but when it comes to our creations we -”
“Funny how I’ve never seen you create anything.” Gerald stood tall, “when you create a lifeform we can have this talk.” Immediately, the men fell silent and this subject was never to surface again for many years to come. Gerald cleared his throat, “if my figures are right, he will grow much quicker than the average hedgehog. Over that time, these special abilities will develop.” It was gibberish to Shadow at this time, of course. Honestly, he just wanted them all to leave - except for his creator. “When he reaches a certain age, and I see that he is capable of proceeding with combat training. But we will discuss that another time. He needs quite some time to develop. I assure you, gentleman, you will not be disappointed.”
“Hope our sponsors will feel the same, Professor. Otherwise, they will force the whole Space Colony ARK crew to abandon the project… “
Gerald frowned. Quite frankly, Gerald didn’t care what their opinion was concerning his creation. He wanted to find a cure for Maria’s sickness, and he believed wholeheartedly his creation was that cure. He wasn’t just going to be a weapon for the government - like they had requested, and sponsored for. He may be up in age, and not the healthiest man, but he sure wasn’t gonna be their puppet and just simply hand over his creation for their own wishes. “No one can force me off the Space Colony Ark, I designed and oversaw the construction of this place. “
One of the men nodded, “and so they shouldn’t, sir.” He shifted upon his weight. “Now, along with this ‘secret’ DNA implanted that you’ve mentioned, it will guarantee your creation’s immortality, is that correct?”
The scientist was hesitant when this topic surfaced, simply because of what he had to go through to achieve such DNA. He didn’t like it, nor did he care for the very one who sent him the sample. “That is correct.” Now the four other men seemed at peace. Finally, no more questions, the older scientist thought. A few more words were exchanged between the men, before they dismissed themselves, leaving Gerald alone with his creation. “They almost make you go mad.” Gerald scoffed before looking at Shadow, and kneeling. “Not the most pleasant thing to wake up to, huh? Hmm…you seem to have calmed down now, though.” He observed his creation’s body language. Shadow finally inched further away from his “safe area” that use to be surrounded by the thick glass. Instead of judging eyes looking down upon him, Gerald’s gaze were much softer, with a hint of pride seeing that his creation’s development was going along smoothly in comparison to those failed projects before him. Another thing will be different too, from years to come the two will share a strong bond that no one ever imagined. However, it will be a long and bumpy ride for the both of them.
                                                 ***
About two weeks old, Shadow was having the first two hellish weeks of his life. He was being poked and poked constantly by needles, lights were being shined in his eyes, blinding him temporarily, and he went from trying to stand upright to walking without wobbling the following day. Oh, and let’s not forget… more needles, and even more tests. He really did start to feel like he was just simply like that lab rat across the room running in circles with no purpose.
Shadow was bruised from the injections, tired, and quite cranky. He fell asleep curled up. Whether or not they tested him while he slept, or poked him with even more needles, he did not know or even care anymore. The next thing he woke up to was no fresh bruises, instead he lifted his head he saw that familiar blonde haired girl. He studied her. That was when she smiled, and pressed her hand against the glass. Oh. Wait, he was in that stupid tube again. Shoot. He started to really hate that thing. He got to his feet, walked over and pressed his hand on the glass. Their hands almost matched in size.
Maria was surprised. Was she really kept out of the scene for that long? Not that it mattered anymore. She was finally making some sort of connection with grandpa’s creation. If only she could get him out of that stupid tube. “Hi Shadow, are you okay? You look tired, and - are you hurt?!” Shadow’s ears simply twitched in confusion. “Grandpa should really let you out more… there’s so many things to see, Shadow! I want you to see them with me…” That was when Maria came up with this clever but risky idea. She knew that grandpa would pull that lever to open the tube. She also knew the code. Hey, don’t give the girl a hard time. She’s in her room a lot with just stuffed animals, and books to entertain her (that she borrows from Grandpa)… and well she happened to stumble upon some private information; like that very code. Smart girl.
Before wasting anymore time, Maria pushed a stool near the computer and pulled on the lever, confirmed the request, and then there was that familiar hissing sound once more. Shadow looked at her, very skeptical about this plan. She grabbed his hand, and rushed out the door. Shadow stumbled slightly from her tugging. When they reached the corridor, Maria looked left and right before tugging him to the right. Further along, passing some private chambers to each individual that resided here, they soon heard footsteps. Maria panicked before grabbing a blanket from one of the carts in the hall. She scooped up Shadow and covered him in a blanket like a baby. The passerby glanced her way then smiled. Thinking she was simply playing with her dolls that day. Phew. The coast was clear.

Perspective (chapter 2)
Giant ssonic story
Yesterday wasn't a dream. You knew that, and you made a promise. You never broke promises. The sudden sunlight made itself unknown, shining through the cracks in the boarded up window, illuminating the graffiti on the wall. You styled your hair in your regular ' do ', and wished you had a mirror.
You probably looked exhumed, the lack of sleep last night, plus the fact you were homeless ensured that your in your head. You murmured a few select words under your breath.
Why were you doing this?
He's dangerous, could kill you at any moment if he wanted to! Even worse he may not even mean to you! He's mon-
You growled at your thoughts. He wasn't a monster. You knew that. You were just scared. You stood up straight, and took a deep breath, taking one last glance at your " home" before turning around to walk away. " Please let this go well " you begged, crossing your fingers.
You didn't understand. He wasn't here! You knew you were in the right place the muddy footprints didn't lie! You had searched the nearby area too, but he was nowhere in sight. "he's a freaking giant blue hedgehog, where could he be that's so well hidden!?" you groaned.
What were you supposed to do now? Wait for him to come back? Leave? Was he even coming back?
On one hand, you didn't want to make him think you broke your promise, but on the other hand, you couldn't be bothered to wait around all day. Sighing, you trudged over to a nearby tree with low branches and hoisted yourself onto a low one. He was lucky you were so nice.
Watching the sky for a boring 10 minutes. Humming tunes got dull after 20. Playing I-spy with yourself killed your sanity after 5. Listening to the rymthmic mini earthquakes annoyed as soon as they kicked in. Then the fear kicked in. He was coming back. What were even you supposed to do?!
You began to internally panic, and saw sonic crouch down to inspect the new footprints imprinted in the ground. Damn he was observant. Out of pure 'I don't know what to do emotion' you rested your head against the tree and let your leg dangle limply from the branch. As if you were asleep.
After a little while, you felt a pari of eyes land on you, and you tried not to move your body out of anxiousness. You felt a small, hesitant tap on your LEG. " Y/N? "
"Gah! " you sat up quickly as if you had just been woken up, and spotted sonic's finger flinch away from you. " sonic?" you looked over to the blue hedgehog, and the urge to ran away tugged at you relentlessly.
"i uh, didn't think you'd come back." he smiled sheepishly, eyes filled with wonder. " well.. I promised you didn't I?" you spoke after an unsure pause. You swung your legs over to the side of the branch to face him properly. " and I don't break promises"
"good ta know" sonic spoke quietly, keeping his distance as to not scare you.
Turns out that sonic was a real softie. Kind natured, but really loud. If you didn't keep reminding him to watch how loud he was speaking, and tone it down, you'd probably would've gone deaf.
" So uh, Y/N, how old are ya?" the giant blue hedgehog asked out of the blue.  Blinking twice at the question, a confused expression took over your face. I-I'm (age) " You responded." Why?"
" I dunno, I guess we both ask random questions" he grinned. You laughed sheepishly, and scratched the back of your neck, before replying. " well how old are you sonic?"
" I'm 16, probably a bit older" he spoke nonchalantly, as if his age didn't matter. "you don't know?" you asked sadly, a tremendous feeling of sympathy Washing over you. " I don't know how long I've been like this for.. The last time I knew my age, I was 15" you opened your mouth to say something but sonic continued. " it gets lonely you know? It's why I asked you to come back, haven't to talked to a person in a long time..." he trailed off. Now you really felt bad for sonic. Everyone that came across the poor guy acted like you and ran away. No wonder he looked like he thought you were gonna run away at any second. Not that you could blame yourself-it was scary, he could damage so much with a single breath. It was scary. But it wasn't his fault. "I... Know how you feel, in a way" you looked down at the ground." I don't really talk to a lot of people, I've been avoiding my enemies for years, and they keep trying to find me, so I keep having to move. I can relate to you on that. " a small, sad smile appeared on your face as you looked up at the giant hedgehog stirring before you. You felt like sonic needed somebody to relate to. Though you felt bad for dumping a bunch of emotional baggage on him.
" well.. We can be friends? " sonic spoke hesitantly, looking at you reluctantly for an answer. "Wait, he wanted to be friends?" you thought surprisingly. He noted your shock silence. " I know I'm kind of a freak but-"
" don't say that!" you cut him off. " being  different doesn't make you a freak at all!" now sonic was the shocked one. You wondered if you had said anything wrong. But the grin that took over his face washed away your worries." thanks, Y/N"
"Anytime sonic "
Later that evening, " oh wow, would you look at that?" sonic said, looking up at the sky. You should probably get home. " you just realised the dark star-filled sky," is it this late already? "you replied" do you want me to take you there? Sonic asked, worry evident in his eyes " it's gonna be really dark soon"
"No, no, it's okay, I know my way around here pretty well. You lied. You couldn't say you were tempted, though you were slightly scared of the forest at nightime." alright.. "sonic sighed." It was nice talking to you today Y/N"
"well now you're making it sound like we're never gonna talk again!" you laughed, however your laughter subsided after you saw his face. Shocked and confused. "w-what?" you spoke unsure of yourself. Did you say something wrong?
"i just.. Didn't think you would wanna see me again.." sonic mumbled softly, looking at the ground nervously. "are you kidding? We're friends, obviously I wanna see you again, your awesome!" you exclaimed. "yeah.." sonic bitterly laughed "and 50f times your size" you frowned at this. I mean, I'm monster! "
" Your not a monster sonic" you protested. " a monster would hurt people, and I'm not hurt am I? We're friends, and your just as much as a person as me, who cares if you're a little different? Not me!"  you watched sonic's contort from shock to elated. Before you knew what had happened you were lifted up off of your feet and pressed into a a warm furry-like surface. Was he hugging you? " thank you Y/N" he hummed, you hugged back as best you could, giggling at the surreal-Ness of it all. You were placed back onto the ground and pushed lightly back into the woods. You need to get home now " he spoke, turning around, you allowed a smile to spread across your lips " ill see you soon sonic! " and with that, you sprinted back into the woods, grin still plastered on you face.

Retrieve It! Retrieve It!
Tumblr media
Sonic, Amy and Dexter (OC) were on a mission to retrieve the Lost Power of Crystal before Morpho Eggman, Agent Stone and Steve Eggman get it. Before they set on a journey, Amy and Dexter have to go through a month of training by Captain Hero, the keeper of Lost Crystal of Power scroll at Plum Blossom Sanctuary. At the end of training, Sonic approached them to help Dexter and Amy gained the Lost Crystal of Power whilst confronting Dexter for leaving him, his modern counterpart, Tails counterpart from Morpho dimension and Modern Amy behind in a destroyed world. Regardless, they set their differences and set to retrieve their Lost Power of Crystal through several dimensional portal. In order to retrieve it, one must deal with boss fights from mythical creatures and riddles to test the true nature and power of the borrower. If one pass the test, the guardian of Lost Crystal of Power would lend them the crystal. If not, one will perish to the lake of melted crystal lake.
Special thanks to @clevercheesecakecrown @tricopooplover123 for supporting my Dexter oc theory.

A new Shardonic story I posted earlier today- hopefully I won't feel as disappointed with myself with this fic (it's going to be a multi-chapter story) as I was with my "Phase Two" one.

Shadow embraced the tall blonde human even tighter, afraid it was a dream, and she'd disappear like so many times before. As he peeled his eyes open, he realized that this was not a dream. When he met her eyes, however, she appeared to be confused by the embrace. Maria opened her mouth, and then shut it again, patting his back, before pulling away. "There, there, buddy. Uh...do I need to take you to the doctor?" Her blue eyes searched for any noticeable injuries after his fall.
Shadow felt his heart sink. Did he really travel to a timeline where Maria didn't know him? He gave her some space, and cleared his throat. "I'm fine." His crimson eyes searched his surroundings. Behind them stood a two story home, which he assumed belonged to Maria. Wherever they were it was quiet here. So quiet that he could hear the busy city a couple miles away. "...I didn't mean to scare you.. I-" His ear twitched, at the sound of the front door opening. He noticed a familiar outline of the figure standing at the door. Could it really be his creator? He didn't even think. Once he came fully in his vision, instead of his creator standing before him, it was actually his grandson... Ivo. Robotnik. Or, as his timeline knows him as Dr.Eggman. He felt nausea. Was she sharing a home with him?
"Ah, there you are my dear." His voice rough, and annoying just like 'his' Eggman.  Shadow watched Maria greet her cousin (he still couldn't over the two being related). While Maria talked to Eggman, the dark hedgehog just watched the taller human lift his goggles and his brows suddenly raise in surprise. Eggman didn't acknowledge his presence, instead, "we've got to get going." He addressed to Maria.
"I still think we should get him checked out, Ivo. He took a bad fall.." Her soft eyes watching Shadow.
His expression was unreadable, "he looks fine to me. Let's head out, Maria." He walked towards the end of their driveway. Hesitating only for a moment for her to catch up.  Maria looked back at Shadow, as she walked to catch up to her cousin.
--
Miles away...
"Maria, where did he come from?" Ivo's voice echoed across the room. He spun around in his chair, facing his young cousin.
"The hedgehog back at home?" Maria looked up from her notebook, "there was some sort of flash and then all of sudden he appeared..." The blonde girl returned her attention to her notebook. "He seemed harmless, honestly."
"Hm." Robotnik grunted. "I'd stay clear of him." He turned his chair around to watch one of his many security cameras.
Maria glanced over, and bit her bottom lip. "He acted as if he knew me? I don't-" The young human couldn't shake the thought that maybe her cousin was hiding something.
"Don't worry about him, let's finish our upgrades, Maria." He turned his back to her, as he unscrewed an electrical panel underneath. "Hm. Figures. This piece of crap is shot." Some of the wiring were fried, and the motherboard looked damaged. Nothing Ivo couldn't handle. Maria didn't pry anymore when it concerned the dark hedgehog, and helped her cousin around the base. Several computers were needing a new upgrade, which weren't too bad. At least his base was still standing, right?
--
At Home
Maria couldn't sleep, she kept thinking about the stranger she met earlier that afternoon. How odd her cousin acted towards him. Where did he come from? Was she suppose to remember him? After hours of no luck getting any shut-eye, Maria walked downstairs to grab a late snack. As she entered the kitchen, she saw her cousin's computer was on in his room, but her cousin was nowhere to be seen. Quietly, she tiptoed further in the room, and looked at the open tabs displaying on the computer. Most of which didn't catch her eye, until she saw an article that displayed a familiar hedgehog. Behind the hedgehog stood a haunting creature with two horns. She quickly scanned over the article, before she would get caught. Of what she could make out of the article, it read:
"Project Shadow: An Experiment Gone Wrong
 .... alien blood...
Created for war...?
Prof.Gerald Robotnik had planned for his experiment to bring healing, and hope to the world, but was unprepared for the power.... it wielded. The government wanted his creation to aid in the war... it was proven to be too deadly... they ordered for it to be shut down... Funding was cancelled...
His choice to keep the experiment costed him his life..."
Maria felt like her heart jumped out of her chest when she felt a hand on her shoulder, "Shouldn't you be asleep, by now? Instead your prying on your favorite cousin's computer?" The blonde smiled back at him innocently.
"Hey, you left it on." She shrugged. He frowned, disappointment on his features. Ivo scanned over the article she was reading. "... Was that him? The one... I met earlier."
"...The thing is... it shouldn't be. Project Shadow was shutdown." Robotnik encouraged her to exit his room, and led her into the living room. "That's why you need to keep your distance from it. Like stated in that article, Project Shadow was powerful."
"... But he hugged me..."She didn't realize her thought was spoken out loud, until Robotnik paused at the entrance to the kitchen. She rubbed the back of her head, "yeah, it was odd." Maria dropped on the couch, resting on the cushion. "I almost feel like I should know this guy?"
Ivo seemed like he was frozen in time, then he walked towards the fridge to retrieve a bottle of water. "Maria, if this was Project Shadow that you ran into, it... is just an experiment. Nothing more." He took a big gulp of water, "it could be possible that this experiment met you while you were with Grandfather. You were awfully young then. Perhaps it does have a memory of you." He shrugged his shoulders. "Let me do more research..." He muttered, before giving her a warning. "Do not go near it." He walked towards his room, and shut the door. From inside his room, she heard him wish her a goodnight.
Maria lifted her body, and gave a deep sigh. She figured at almost 18 years of age, Ivo Robotnik wouldn't be so... protective towards her. It was annoying. She wasn't allowed to go out past 10PM. Unless she had to work late. She didn't mind him, but there were things that she didn't approve of. Like attacking a well-known hedgehog named Sonic, and his friends. He had a hatred for his kind for some reason. But, she kept her space. She had to give him credit... her cousin stopped building robots to attack Sonic, and his companions. After years and years of failing to beat him, perhaps he got bored? She wasn't quite sure. At least he kept himself busy with other projects.
Finally, Maria's body gave in to sleep around 3AM that morning. She was grateful that she wouldn't have to work tomorrow. She slept peacefully knowing that she didn't need to set an alarm. Deep in her slumber, she kept thinking about that hedgehog she met. Was he really dangerous like Robotnik warned? Or perhaps he was someone totally different than the "failed experiment" as the article described. If she was to run into him again, which she kind of hoped, whether or not her cousin would approve... she had so many questions. ' I am a Robotnik... I can take care of myself.'  She constantly told herself.
--
She woke up to the sound of Ivo Robotnik leaving the house, and then the piercing sunlight through her windows disturbing her from her slumber... she rolled over, her face buried into the coolness of her pillow. Maria ended up sleeping for another two hours. When she woke up around 10AM that morning, she felt so awful. Thoughts of "Project Shadow" still on her mind. Oh, great her cousin also drunk all the coffee. Peachy. Before leaving the house, Maria made a quick breakfast, showered, and got dressed. She wore her favorite pair of blue jeans, and an old cola shirt. When she stepped outside, she walked around perhaps wondering if the strange hedgehog had stayed hidden in their yard. Something told her she'd see him again. Giving up, she took off to the city. She preferred taking her bicycle over her car that sat in the garage. Sure, she was grateful that Ivo bought it for her, and upgraded it with all the bells and whistles, her bike provided plenty of exercise and that was the excuse she stuck with.
Before she got too deep in the city, she suddenly felt a sharp pain just near her shoulder blade. Perhaps she had laid wrong last night? Who knew? The pain seemed to intensified as she continued on. Everything around her grew blurry, she barely even noticed getting off her bike, and it falling to the side of the road. Gradually she made her way to the sidewalk, while her world continued to spin around her. She shut her eyes, and laid her head on the concrete sidewalk. When she opened her eyes again, she swore she saw blood on her hands. It was coming from her chest! She heard a voice... somehow familiar but also foreign to her ears. Trying not to focus on the blood, she just stared at the clear blue sky. Then two crimson eyes met her startled gaze. Those eyes from the other day... the hedgehog... ? Her vision flashed, and all of a sudden she saw a version of her on the floor, bleeding out, unfamiliar voices ringing in her ears. What was this image she was seeing? Was this a nightmare? She felt two strong arms holding against his furry chest. "Please make it stop... get ... help.." She begged.

Chapter 21 - Game Night
Itara huffed angrily and grabbed her game, storming out the door. She said nothing on the way out of the hotel room and didn’t even bring the possessed doll as she normally did, grabbing the attention of the robot that had been headed for his usual window spot. After a short mental debate, he followed after her.  Sceira, on the other hand, was getting comfortable on the couch.  It had been uncomfortably silent amongst the three since their return and Itara had immediately grabbed her handheld from her bag and left as soon as they arrived.
She’d barely passed the door she slammed shut before Metal reached her, getting a vicious scowl for doing so, but he continued on in a similar silence until they were back at the elevator.  He wouldn’t short it this time, though, as twice in as many days would raise suspicion.
Itara wasted no time flicking her game open again and glaring at the screen, but Metal had no intention of letting her play in her silence. “So what actually happened today?”
“I told you already,” the angry hedgehog growled, not moving her eyes from her screen.
“No, I want the whole story.  What caused your… episode?”
“What do you care?”
“Between the spike in your powers, the increase of Ancient God activities, and the sheer magnitude and possibilities of your previous powers, episodes have dangerous consequences with you.  I’d like to know what I’m dealing with in case you snap one of these days. Mephiles, alone, was capable of altering a number of timelines at once.  Solaris tried to destroy everything and succeeded in resetting our time.  Small as you may be, you’re still a dangerous creation running rampant with no control over her powers.”
There was a moment of silence again before Itara sighed heavily, closing her game and dropping her arms and head.  Metal could almost see the rage vaporizing off her as her shoulders slumped forward and her ears pressed against her head.  “Not that any of it matters, the spikes in my powers are all I have anymore… I wish they’d just make up their mind and either leave entirely or give me control again.  As it is, they’re more trouble than they’re worth.”  Metal raised an eyebrow as the tiny hedgehog stiffened, though from what he couldn’t tell, before her shoulders dropped again.
When she said no more, he glanced up towards the elevator floor numbers, then back down again, studying her carefully before turning his gaze to the far wall.  He was wary of this silence from the normally cocky, brazen little time traveler, unsure if it was a ruse of some sort to put him off his guard or not.  The time travelers were notorious actors, he wouldn’t put it past her to try and lower his guards with an act, but he doubted this was the current case solely for the reason that she had nothing to gain from it. There was little he could offer that RK didn’t already, his speed and agility hardly mattered in the case of her enemies.
Besides, after a quick review of what happened, what he heard, what she said, and a thorough consideration of her habits, it wasn’t difficult to see what happened.  She was finally realizing what RK had been trying to tell her for several timelines. It was just annoying that he was the one around her when the realization came rather than the mother hen.  He had to question how involved he should get with the situation.  Saying the wrong thing at the wrong time would crumble her mentality further rather than help, and as entertaining as that would be, RK would be furious.  Even if she went home as upset as she was, Metal could already hear the accusations. Then again, it’s what both of them deserved, dragging him into this nonsense in the first place.  His purpose was to destroy, not coddle.
Sighing dramatically, knowing there was precious little time before the elevator reached the chosen floor and the tiny hedgehog stormed off again, Metal reached over and tapped the girl with the side of his foot.  He only meant to nudge but he watched with a hint of amusement as she toppled over, glaring knives up at him for knocking her over.  “Quit pouting and just do something about it.”
“What, you want me to shock you again?” Itara growled, pushing herself back to her feet after making sure her game didn’t break.
Metal’s eyes narrowed, “Do that and you won’t make it back to your Momma Bear.  I meant about your powers.”  Holding a sizzling, crackling, energized hand up, he snarled, “Even damage can be made use of if you’re smart enough.”  As the elevator dinged, informing them that they’d reached the first floor, Metal put his hand back down as Itara’s own scowl turned blank. She stared up at him as the doors slid open, Metal pushing up off the wall and walking through, “stop waiting for your ‘dad’ to fix you.  Fix yourself.”
Itara stared after him in confusion, barely scrambling out of the elevator before the doors closed again and took off after the robot. But he’d already disappeared into the crowd of the lobby, leaving her to question the conversation.  What did he even mean?  What did he expect her to do, exactly?  But more importantly, why was he offering advice in the first place instead of mocking her?  She was so sure, after what happened outside the restaurant, he –and everyone else in her class –was going to mock her relentlessly.  Her brows furrowed as she realized she hadn’t brought Kipper with her and thus had no one to talk it over with.
Sighing, she turned to walk around the first floor, fitting her game into her jacket pocket.  It was busy as usual, with a combination of people she recognized and didn’t.  Those she didn’t spared her no passing glances, as they shouldn’t, but she didn’t miss the sideways glances from those she did.  Of course word would get around already.  Even some of the other parents cast her strange and concerned looks when she passed by, causing her to seek out the hopefully-still-empty event rooms again.
She wanted to go home.
This trip was stupid.
She looked around at the busy ground floor, realizing the event room she’d hidden out in before actually had some kind of event going on, and huffed in annoyance.  She had to find a different spot.  Changing course for the stairway entrance, she passed another group of classmates who were huddled in a circle, whispering amongst themselves and looking suspiciously around every once in a while.  They were being so suspicious Itara couldn’t help but walk a little slower and turn one perked ear their way to see what they were being so hush-hush about.  Not that she cared, of course, they were just being so obvious it was laughable and she would use it to mock them later if they tried to mock her.
“So we’re meeting in your guys’ room, then?”
“Yeah, so you guys make sure to get the snacks.”
“Are you gonna be able to ditch your dad long enough?”
“Yeah, he’s going out with some of the other parents later.”
Itara shook her head, losing interest in the apparent meet up and continued on.  Until one final question had both ears at full attention: “Do any of you have an extra charger?  I barely got my games in my bag before my mom rushed me out, I didn’t have time to grab my charger.”
It was a gaming meet-up?
Well.  Not that she cared, still.  She only played with Simon because he so heavily insisted and he lived so close, she didn’t care about playing with others.
“I’ve got an extra charger, and the new Fighting Gods console release.”
“No way, really?  Wait… you brought your console?”
“Yeah, I have a carrying case for it and just told my mom it was full of books.  She didn’t even check.”
Itara wasn’t sure when she stopped walking, but it was brought to her sudden attention when a rushing bus boy nearly flattened her with a cart, barely managing to call out an apology when she scrambled out of the way as he flew by.  Glaring towards the much too-tall human, she realized the near crash drew attention, including from the group of classmates, and huffed indignantly, straightening herself back up, and stormed off out of sight.  Though, she didn’t actually go far.  She only went far enough to be out of her classmates sights so they would continue their conversation.  As soon as they did, she edged closer again, hiding behind a nearby chair to listen in.
“Alright, then we’ll meet up in Josh’s room after dinner for game night.  Make sure you aren’t followed by any adults.”
There was a round of agreement and the group dispersed again, leaving Itara to sit and consider it all.  Well, no, she wasn’t considering anything.  She didn’t care.  Why would she even want to go play games with a bunch of mortal children, anyway?  It’s not like she was one of them.  Not to mention, after today, it would likely just open opportunity to mock her for what happened.  Why would she ever want to subject herself to that?  She’d rather play by herself somewhere, where no one could-
“Hey Itara, why are you hiding behind that chair?”
Screeching in shock and toppling over, bringing the fake tree by the chair and its woven basket with her, Itara had to take a moment to regain her composure before glaring up at the mobian boy.  It was one of the boys in her group.  One of the kids who saw her ‘episode’ for himself. Now he found her, hiding behind a chair in the hotel lobby, by herself, likely looking even more suspicious than the group earlier.  Great. This trip was only getting worse by the hour.
Sighing, she pulled herself back to her feet, glaring down at the tree and giving it a light kick, “I-I wasn’t hiding… I was thinking. What do you want?”
“Oh.  Uh, well,” while he looked off to think, Itara studied him, trying to at least remember his name.  She hadn’t cared for the most part, but if he was going to go out of his way to mock her, she would remember it for later.  She thought it was Tobi, but she wasn’t entirely sure. “Hey, uh, you play video games, right?”
How did he know?  Why did he know?  Was this a trick?  Did he actually know she was eavesdropping?  Narrowing her eyes dangerously, she debated before responding slowly, “maybe.  What’s it to you?”  She was getting a distinct feeling of déjà vu.  Except this time it was a squirrel mobian rather than a human.
“…Why are you always so defensive?”  The boy, whose name was pending as ‘Tobi’, frowned, glaring back as he crossed his arms, “you know, you’d make more friends if you weren’t so mean to everyone all the time.”
“Why would I care about making friends?”
“Because maybe then you could stop spending lunch alone in the stairway all the time.”  Itara recoiled, narrowing her eyes only further.  How many people knew of her hiding spot?!  Why did this random squirrel know so much about her?!  What was he plotting?!  Before she could question him, however, he sighed and dropped his own glare, “Alright, I’m sorry.  I didn’t mean to scare you like that,” who was scared? “and I wasn’t trying to be mean, I just thought you might want to join my friends and I for some gaming later tonight.  Simon said you played,” that traitor, “so I thought I’d let you know.  I’m not sure where or what time yet, though.  I was on my way to find out now, actually, if you wanted to come.”
Itara could only stare in confusion for a minute, processing this.  He was… inviting her to come play games?  Could he be friends with the group that was talking before?  But did she even want to go?  What if it was a trap?  What if he was only playing nice now to lure her in so they could all tease her at once together?  It wouldn’t be the first time she’d been ganged up on.  Last time RK was there to tell her whether she could or not, he could read Simon’s intentions and would have warned her if he was planning anything. But, this time, she was on her own. Metal Sonic wasn’t even there.
Apparently she remained silent for too long, however, and Tobi got impatient with waiting.  Before she could come to a proper decision, the squirrel boy sighed dramatically and grabbed her wrist, dragging her out of her thoughts and across the lobby.  “Just come on already.  You can leave later if you don’t wanna stick around but let’s at least go find out what time and where.”  Itara stuttered out a number of half protests but they went entirely unheard by the boy as he led the way through the droves of hotel patrons to find one of his friends, one of the boys from the earlier group, to ask about the apparent gaming night.
The other boy answered easily enough, but looked back at the confused Itara upon realizing she was there.  “Why’d you bring her?” The confusion dropped and a scowl replaced Itara’s previous expression.
“She games, too, so I thought I’d invite her.  She’s in my group for the trip so we’ve been hanging out.”
The confusion returned as both Itara and the other boy looked to Tobi with an eyebrow rose.  Neither of them was aware of this apparent situation.  The other boy shrugged after a moment, however, and continued, “Well, alright, I guess.  Just as long as she isn’t a tattle-tale.  She hangs out with Sceira-.”
“I do not!”
Both boys turned to her now as she glared, pulling her arm back from Tobi and crossing them, “I do not hang out with Sceira.  She just won’t leave me alone.  The only reason I’m even down here is to get away from her.”
The boys exchanged glances, remaining silent, before nodding and turning back to Itara, “Cool.  Then as long as you don’t get followed by an adult, we’re meeting up after dinner in Josh’s room.  He’s got one of the rooms without a chaperone so it’s the best place for a game night. You gonna be able to get away from your guardian?”
Itara waved the thought away, “Easily.  Not only does he not care, but he took off, anyway.”
“Did he go out with the other parents, too?”
“No, I’m pretty sure he took off on his own.”
“Great!  Then come by after dinner!  Do you have any games?”
Hesitantly, Itara uncrossed her arms to pull her handheld out of her coat pocket to show them, “Yeah.  I only recently got this so I don’t have many games for it, though.” The boys nodded, told Itara which room number was Josh’s, explained the code word to get in to keep any unwanted spies or adults out, and parted ways again.  Tobi stuck around, though, and Itara somehow ended up following him around to find his other friends.
By the time dinner rolled around, Itara had all but forgotten her earlier concerns and was only excited for, if not still wary about, the game night.  Luckily, dinner was a restaurant nearby, and Metal Sonic had returned just before they left. She briefly debated telling him about the meet-up, just to let him know she wouldn’t be in the room, but decided against it.  Adults weren’t supposed to know, after all, and though she was technically much, much older than any of the others, Metal was the ‘adult’ of the group so she decided he couldn’t know.  Instead, she rushed through her dinner as much as possible and back to the hotel to get ready.  She wanted to change into something more comfortable, since it was apparently supposed to go late and her school uniform skirt wasn’t late-night gaming attire.
As she headed back out of the room, however, both Metal and Sceira stopped her to question where she was going.  She’d forgotten about Sceira.  Metal would be easy enough to get past, he didn’t care, but Sceira was specifically named amongst those who couldn’t know, along with Camilla.  She stopped for a moment, but eventually decided on the excuse of walking dinner off and left.  She met back up with Tobi along the way, mostly by chance, and the two of them continued on to Josh’s room.
When they arrived, the whole group Itara had seen earlier in the evening were there, three of them getting the console hooked up to the TV and the other two sitting on the bed playing their handhelds, as well as a couple others getting a bag of snacks set up on the small table in the room. They greeted Tobi happily enough, but all but the three busy with the console stopped to stare when they saw Itara, causing her to become unsure of her decision to join them.
“Who invited that weirdo?”
“I did,” Tobi glared, grabbing Itara’s wrist again and pulling her further into the room.
“Isn’t she friends with Sceira, though?  What if she tattles?”
“Nah, she doesn’t like Sceira, either.  Besides, she games, too, she’s even good at Fighting Gods!”  Itara turned red in the face at the final part, suddenly unsure about her earlier bragging in relation to the arcade game.  She only played it that once, and technically she lost.  Lost to an advanced AI designed to study and learn fighting styles and match them, but still.
“She’s gonna need to be better than ‘good’ to beat me,” Josh, a human kid from one of the other groups, grinned from his place near the TV.
While Tobi flopped over on the bed with the two there, pulling out his own handheld to join whatever they were doing, Itara looked around the room to avoid looking at any one person.  Somehow, she’d forgotten how little she got along with her classmates. She never cared before, but now that she was in a much smaller room alone with a group of them, it felt awkward. Before long, though, her eyes were drawn to the small snack table and noticed a pile of chocolate chip cookies, wondering if they were up for grabs.
“There!  I think it’s finally set up!”
All eyes turned to the TV as the screen flicked on, showing the menu of the system, followed by a call of excitement from around the room. Josh grabbed a game case and popped the disk in, grabbing the controllers and grinning back at Itara again, holding one out to her.  “Let’s see how good you really are, huh?”
Itara hesitated again, but once the arcade-turned-console game started up and the familiar theme played, she met his grin.  Walking over and sitting on the floor beside him, she grabbed the other controller and responded, “Bring it.  I beat Sparky at this game.”  She didn’t.  But they didn’t need to know that.
“Wait, Sparky your guardian?” Tobi questioned from the bed.
“Yeah, the three of us went to an arcade once and I played Sparky in this game and kicked his butt.  Just don’t ask him, he’ll deny it.  He doesn’t like admitting he lost.”
“Then maybe I’ll finally have a real challenge for once,” Josh laughed, “cuz no one can beat me!”
“I look forward to breaking your streak,” Itara grinned, choosing the obvious Solaris-themed God in the game.  Josh chose his character and the match began.  Of course, all uncertainty Itara held about the fight beforehand was gone as soon as she easily annihilated him the first round. As it turned out, Sparky wasn’t the only one skilled at reading people and, despite her lack of actual experience with the game, her ability to predict his moves were much more beneficial than she had expected.  Then again, she was still fighting a third grader.
The match ended much sooner than Josh had expected, going 0-2 against the suddenly cocky Itara, accusing her of cheating for a brief moment before calming down again and getting a laugh from the hedgehog.  Of course, their battle caught the attention of the others and the challengers lined up to try and beat her, though she refused to do another match until there was a cookie in her hand.  Luckily, Tobi was quick to oblige and grabbed a cookie off the plate as payment for challenging her next, which she happily accepted.
Itara defeated the rest of the kids easily enough, picking up more about the actual game mechanics along the way, and had finally figured out how to do specials after three matches.  Once that was done, she gave up her spot at the console and pulled her handheld out, wanting to see if she could add more friends for the game she played with Simon.  As it turned out, almost everyone there at least had the game, though they hadn’t all brought it with them.  She could at least add them and play again later, though.
Before she realized it, she had become completely absorbed in the game night and the ever-present anxiety about everything being a trap found itself a nice, cozy home in the back of her mind for once. As she and the others sat around playing mini-games in a party-board-style game on their handhelds, having moved the box of cookies between them on the hotel bed instead of halfway across the room on the table, she managed to forget about the monster attacks and timelines and impending revival of the Ancient Gods.  Though the moment was fleeting, it was nice while it lasted.
They spent the next several hours hopping between games and telling stories, munching on snacks and running around the room.  She’d managed to push her worries aside for a short while, but over the course of the night the whispers and worries that none of this was right and that she was putting her guard down too low crept back and put Itara back on edge.  She did her best to shake them from her head, but the longer the night went on, the louder those concerns grew.  Even though it was obvious that nothing bad was happening, the others even seemed to enjoy her presence to a degree, she couldn’t completely ignore the impending doom stabbing at the back of her head.
It wasn’t until nearly midnight that their fun finally ended when one of the parents from another room came looking for their missing kid.  They told the others to go to bed and sent them on their way before going back to their own room, stopping any potential continuation of the night.  While most of them whined about it, Itara didn’t complain as much.  She was having fun, for once, but she also wanted to get back to her room so she could text RK.  She hadn’t done that yet and wanted to before she passed out.
She and Tobi walked back together most of the way, since their rooms were on the same floor, but parted ways at his room, leaving Itara to continue on to hers alone.  She had a small smile on her face when she returned, getting a strange look from Metal when he let her in, but said nothing as she continued to her suitcase.  Pulling her phone out and turning it on, she sat down on the edge of the open bed while Metal returned to his chair to continue charging.
“You look satisfied.”
“What… no, I mean,” Itara frowned, giving it a moment of thought before texting RK and continuing, “there were chocolate chip cookies, that’s all.  And I beat everyone at Fighting Gods.”
“Fighting Gods?  …That fighting game you challenged me to at the arcade?  That I beat you with one arm?”
Itara’s face flushed up as she glared over at him, but returned her eyes to the screen to continue her text, “Maybe.  Yes.  But I know more now and I bet I could beat you this time.”
“You think so, huh?”
“I know so.”
Metal smirked, leaning back in the chair, “We’ll just have to see about that.”  Though after a silent moment of thought, he glared over again, “Wait, you were off playing games?”  He knew she hadn’t actually left for a walk, it was an easy enough lie to catch, but he didn’t know what she’d actually disappeared to do.
“Maybe.”
Narrowing his eyes, he scoffed but remained silent. Well.  It’s not like she was the only one.  He ran back to that arcade earlier, just as he planned, and played all the games he hadn’t been able to during the day.  So he supposed that was fine.

I have an enormous huge son of a gun question!
Like if you think Tails is amazing and comment if you, a) think Tails should have his own game (excluding the game gear ones) b) Agree with me and yell at the top of your lungs "TAILS IS BETTER THAN SONIC!" (Optional: yell FRIK U SONIC! Like I did.) @riftleague @futeonias-defenders @ldgs-sonicfanfic @underforce-undertale-au (this one's cancerous. It's terribly written and has inconsistencies. It was my first fiction though. If you wanna check it out... You have been warned.)
