It was a while since the last time he enjoyed a nice and calm afternoon like this one, surrounded by nature and its beautiful creations, like the picture-perfect painting across the sky, the colors seeping through the canvas, staining the grass, the trees, the field.

The table they were all gathered around.

He took a breath and allowed his lungs to be filled with the air that had previously been knocked out of him due to the realization that dawned upon him while looking at his friends.

That wasn’t a regular occurrence, he mentally noted, while the sound of laughing in the background was drowned out by his own thoughts. It wasn’t often that he felt overwhelmed, but of course, when he did, it was because of his friends; only they had the power to knock him down. Yet, what was also quite rare, was them gathering together like they did today, especially without being interrupted by any mad scientists and their evil plans.

A smile was adorning his expression, a small one, directed at no one in particular, as he looked into the distance, behind the pink hedgehog that kept on talking about her adventures.

His ear flicked as he picked up a different sound; a foreign one. He whipped his head to the source of it just to witness another rare moment; Blaze the cat laughing.

Well, it was more of a giggle because she tried her best not to be loud (and was successful) but that didn’t mean they didn’t hear her or that they didn’t see the joy that was written all over her face.

Sonic exhaled softly at that. The fact that Blaze was here, in his world, was a scarce incident on its own. And he was very happy that she was here, that she visited them, deciding to leave her world, lay off from her duties to relax and have some time for herself. On top of that, she chose to spend that free time, with them, with her friends. She sure has come a long way; how could he not be happy?

Gold eyes met his and he soon realized he had been staring at her, judging by the confusion prevalent on her features.

His own dumbfounded face was quickly replaced by a nonchalant and reassuring grin before he turned his attention towards Amy who was talking about… the chao races?

Okay, so, he might have been a little too happy about Blaze, but he didn’t like that everyone else could tell. He’d always hide his emotions quite well and he never enjoyed others knowing how he felt (maybe he never enjoyed dealing with his emotions himself) but in this specific case, something felt off. Out of control.

“Mr. Sonic?” Cream had called out a little while after Blaze’s arrival, when she had been taken away by Amy who was too excited and impatient to show her a photo album she made with Cream’s help.

“Hm? What’s up kiddo?”

“You seem very happy today!”

“Well, I am happy! We’re having a tea party!” he bent down to squish her cheeks, Cream escaping his attacks, giggling. “Isn’t that great?” He smiled widely.

“Yeah, but that’s not what I mean.”

A tilt of his head was enough to make her elaborate her statement and thoughts.  

“You’ve been smiling…a lot. From the moment Blaze visited!”

“Huh.” He scratched the back of his quills nervously. “I didn’t realize.”

“You must have missed her.”

He tried to intervene but didn’t have enough time to.

“I’ve missed her too, so I understand! You like Blaze just like I do.” She smiled.

Sonic kept smiling, ignoring whatever weird feelings this conversation had brought up. “Of course, I like her, Cream. Same goes for you and all my friends.” He explained, refraining from opening his heart too much, his face was betraying him enough as it was.

“That’s very nice of you Mr. Sonic!”

If Cream could tell Sonic was just a tiny bit giddier than usual, then Amy would too and who knows who else, so that was a little worrisome. Especially if Vanilla had caught up, then, yep, he wouldn’t be able to save face anytime soon.

His shoulders relaxed a bit when he reminded himself that he didn’t actually care about all that because he didn’t need to have a justification for his delight, he didn’t need a reason to be happy for his friends. Why was he even so worried about it in the first place?

“So, yeah, the maze part was crazy but taking those guys down? Real trouble.” Amy’s storytelling was abruptly cut off by her groaning. “Man, just the memory of it gives me a headache.” She said closing her eyes and massaging her temples to soothe the pain. She really got into the story, huh?

Both Cream and Blaze looked a little taken aback by the whole story and Sonic couldn’t blame them; either of them is used to dealing with robots or having these types of adventures on a daily basis just like he did. In fact, part of why Blaze was here to begin with was that there was no threat in her world, she told them that much. Which was ironic at best, since his own world never seemed to be at peace, they were somehow always fighting against mad scientists who only caused chaos—

Sonic bit his lip as he remembered the one thing that almost destroyed them all: the metal virus. He glanced at Cream as the image of her broken form, of her lifeless eyes, inched into his brain, the way she had lost all hope the moment she lost her mother. It was painful to recall, (guilt still taking the best of him sometimes) but he couldn’t imagine how Cream was handling the aftermath of that—now gone—threat or how hard it would be to handle any other hurdle that life threw their way after that one.

Even now, she looked hesitant, sinking into her chair slowly until half of her face was hidden. Sonic raised a brow at that. Was she…scared?

“Amy…” she squeaked, everyone’s attention now on the youngest of the group, “…that sounds like real trouble. What if you couldn’t beat the robots and get out of there in time?”

Amy cringed visibly at that, Sonic’s eyes widened in surprise and the two hedgehogs were silently sharing the same thought. They knew where this question, this hesitation, was coming from, why Cream was afraid of them losing.

Because they almost did, not too long ago.

But Blaze didn’t know what their shared glances meant and didn’t care to understand at that moment as she only paid mind to Cream’s visible fear, carefully rubbing her shoulder without thinking twice about it.

“I’m sure it was nothing spectacular.” She smiled reassuringly. “They had it under control. They’re both safe, see?”

Cream peaked at the hedgehogs, gaze finally settling on the blue one, on the famous hero who everyone relied on. Sonic’s eyes flicked between the people who were staring at him, Cream and Blaze, like they were waiting for him to confirm that they were indeed safe. Because he was Sonic, he had to be the one who could make that confirmation, right? He was expected to.

The world always fell on his shoulders.

But as the thoughts multiplied and the words dried out in his slightly open mouth, Blaze took it upon herself to take his role.

To help him carry the weight he so desperately tried to carry alone.

And he was thankful for her help.

“They’re right here with us.” She tilted her head closer to the bunny in an attempt to gain her attention, to allow her eyes to communicate whatever else she wanted to add but wasn’t able to say through words.

Cream gulped and nodded slowly, registering what she meant.

“Besides,” Blaze bent backwards. “I didn’t lie before. I’m sure these robots were nothing spectacular. I could have taken them all down by myself no problem.” She smirked cockily as she crossed her arms.

Maybe this was her trying to sound confident enough to convince Cream that no one was really in danger but the way her lips curved upwards, made Sonic think otherwise.

Especially when she popped one eye open to directly look at him.

He knew this was a challenge.

So, he acted without thinking twice. He got up and walked next to Blaze who hadn’t flinched an inch despite having heard him alright. His footsteps on the grass were all that could be heard along with the occasional howl of the wind because everyone else had gotten silent. Was it the look on his face that caused this? Was the excitement too obvious? He wasn’t sure and he didn’t really care.

“So,” he speaks once he reached her side, hands planted on his hips. “you’re sure you could have taken them all by yourself?”

“Oh yeah, I’m most certain.”

Getting cocky, are we? “Then, I don’t think you’ll have trouble taking me down?” Sonic countered, jabbing his chest with his thumb.

“Where did this come from?” Blaze side-eyed him, unable to fully conceal her grin.

“I just wanna see how high you think of yourself princess.”

Blaze scrunched her nose at the nickname. “Are you suggesting we fight?”

“I wouldn’t call it a fight.” He crossed his arms. “Battle is a better word, to decide who is the…better one.”

“We did ‘battle’ the first time we met, Sonic, and it ended in a tie.”

“Yeah, but I was going easy on you. Right now, I can win no problem.” He closed his eyes as if that settled it, with a satisfied grin plastered on his face.

“Oh, a bit overconfident, aren’t we?”

“Uhhh, guys?” Amy interjected, suddenly feeling like she was covered in cold sweat. “You don’t have to—”

“Oh, don’t worry Amy, we just need to settle this, it won’t take too long.” He popped one eye open as he bent closer to his challenger. “Right, your highness?”

Blaze inched closer as well, almost making Sonic stumble back. Thankfully, almost. “If you keep calling me that, it certainly won’t take too long, yes.”

Sonic stepped back as his grin widened, cocking an eyebrow at the equally overconfident cat. “Huh.” He exclaimed in amazement. To say he was excited with how things have turned out would be an understatement.

“Whatever you say—” he bowed, still holding her gaze, “your highness.”

His added wink only infuriated Blaze more. She jumped out of her chair, not wasting another look on the hedgehog as she headed towards the open field not that far from where they had been spending their afternoon. Sonic snaked his hands between his spines before following her, his attitude exuding relaxation and assuredness.

They took their positions opposite to one another, a good 10 feet apart. They locked eyes as they prepared themselves, taking the same pose without really intending to do so. Besides, everyone knows bending your left leg forward and stretching your other one far back is the best way to get a good head start before boosting.

“Hey Ames, do me a favor and count down from 3 for me.” Sonic spoke, without taking his eyes off of Blaze.

Amy on the other hand, flicked her eyes between the two of them, waiting for either one to back off. Her hesitation was short lived though, upon seeing as none of the two moved away or towards each other. They were really waiting for her. So, she gave up and did as she was told, grabbing ahold of Cream’s hand to direct her behind her. Yet Cream tilted her head on the side to be able to look at the oncoming fight.

“Fine,” Amy sighed. “3, 2…1.”

Blaze was the first to get on the offensive, wasting no time to lunge forward, her fist directed right at Sonic’s face. Sonic understood her intentions and knew he would be able to outpace her, so he stayed there with a confident smirk plastered across face, waiting to evade at the last moment.

To his detriment, his confidence was predictable.

Blaze retrieved her fist and began sliding on the ground, aiming at his feet with her own. Sonic’s eyes narrowed at the incoming danger as he jumped just before she reached him, avoiding Blaze by a very small margin.

Using the momentum from his leap, he turned around with his right leg raised, aiming right at her, only for his kick to be blocked by Blaze’s arm.

How did she—?

Her other arm charged a punch at him which he easily avoided by landing a backflip. It seemed like he didn’t have much room for mistakes. But he didn’t have to worry about that if he started his offence right now.

And that’s what he did.

He boosted off at her direction with a very clear target. If his smirk had faded away, it returned in no time, especially when he witnessed Blaze dash as well, right at him. Just at the moment they were ready to crash, Sonic dodged by side-stepping, readying his kick at the back of her head.

What he was unable to predict however, was Blaze’s powerful kick that she delivered before he even had the time to comprehend her moves; bending her body forward and pirouetting with an outstretched leg, sent him flying at the bark of a nearby tree. He heard it crack as he slid down, his hand bracing his abdomen in an attempt to soothe the sudden pain that he definitely hadn’t accounted for.

He closed his eyes as he winced, trying his best to pull himself together as quick as possible but that was until something else caught his attention. A hunch. As if on instinct, he ducked, only to witness a punch landing just above his head, one which left another crack on the tree trunk behind him. The severity of it was obvious and Sonic found himself to be very lucky that this specific hit didn’t land on his face.

He shook his head and faced forward again, straightening his legs and launching himself at her feet with his own, using his entire body weight without thinking twice about it, giving little time to his opponent to react.

Next thing he heard was a thump. He craned his head to find Blaze lying on her back.

That was it. That was his chance to deliver the finishing blow. This fight was truly fast after all.

But just as Sonic readied his attack, Blaze raised her legs and gained significant momentum, using it to do a handstand and then land with a back flip. Her attempt to also kick Sonic in the process was in vain, as he was able to evade the hit this time around.

Well, to be fair, he wasn’t expecting such a recovery. Maybe she even faked that fall to trap him. He grinned at that thought as he playfully wiped his nose, watching her back away from him, possibly planning how she should attack next.

“Oh, I see you’ve gotten faster.”

A smirk spread across her lips as she skidded to a halt by planting one hand on the grass, her free arm stretched outwards in an attempt to keep her balance. When she sat up straight, still wary of her opponent’s movements, she turned her head to face him while the sunset in front of her illuminated just the outline of her features with a bright orange hue, making them glow like the flames on her palm.

“Or you are just too slow.” She said as he was approaching dangerously.

Sonic stumbled mid-air, feeling as though time had slowed down and for a short span of time, for a mere millisecond, he was overtaken by hesitation, unable to directly land the punch on Blaze and he didn’t know why. Maybe it was her comeback or that damned smile that accompanied it, but despite it all, it was exactly what Blaze needed to duck out of the way unharmed. Sonic’s fist met the ground not long after, eyes widening as he felt blood rush to his cheeks all of a sudden.

Battle. He reminded himself as he realized he had his back turned-on Blaze (bad decision), quickly side-stepping to narrowly avoid the incoming attack he had predicted with ease.

Of course, it’s getting hot, he tried reasoning with himself, I’m running around trying to take her down, I knew it would not be easy, she’s tough. He grinned at the ground before getting up and turning around, ready to keep up the fight.

And that’s the fun part of it.

“I can’t catch a break, can I?” he flicked his nose, grinning at her.

Blaze answered with a smile of her own, using her flames to boost herself towards Sonic at unprecedented speeds.

Sonic blocked her attack with an air cancel, a trick that helped him use the air to his advantage, by raising dirt from the floor with his feet. That would be enough to mess with Blaze’s sight for a little while. But as he was upside down, not yet stopping his “attack”, his head was momentarily close enough to the ground to notice fire shooting from underneath Blaze’s shoes. It was minimal and if he weren’t in that position at that time, he wouldn’t have noticed it. So, he steadied himself by landing on both his feet.

He witnessed Blaze shooting upwards with her makeshift rocket shoes, in an attempt to avoid the debris. This gave him a few seconds to think about it as he relaxed his body, the realization hitting him like a brick.

“You’re holding back?” he asked, not sure if she heard him.

She hadn’t used her flames to attack him or even restrict him yet. She was giving him a hard enough time as it was so maybe it was because she knew her powers wouldn’t contribute much to stopping him or slowing him down. But she also knew he liked to play with fire. If anything, he was concerned.

Blaze kept looking at him, the hint of a smile she wore until now suddenly gone as she extinguished her flames and used gravity to her advantage by doing another back flip. As she descended, she aimed a kick right at Sonic, clearly never letting her guard down. In order for him to be able to block the attack, Sonic had to use both his arms and even that got him pushed a couple feet back, planting both his feet firmly on the ground so as to prevent his fall.

A series of kicks and punches followed all of which were avoided by Sonic. Though, each time he evaded, he found it increasingly harder to get out of the way in time for the following attacks.

“Does it look like I’m holding back?”

Well, she was right to an extent. She wasn’t holding back physically. Heck, here he was hyperventilating, trying his best to keep his breathing in check.

However, he smiled, closing his eyes.

“Where’s the fancy fire then?”

Blaze blinked, lowering her fists, just a tiny bit. “I don’t need to use fire to defeat you.” She said expressionless.

It reminded him of that cold-blooded girl he met a long time ago. That expression; her way of hiding her emotions. Sonic didn’t like that. He didn’t like what that implied. Blaze was one with her flames; without them, she wouldn’t be the same. Her being hesitant to use it in this battle only meant that she hadn’t fully come to terms with her powers yet. Or even worse, she was afraid that she might hurt him and that’s why she was holding back.

“Come on Blaze, give me everything you’ve got.” He winked, smirking at her and her surprised face.

A punch sent him flying backwards. His eyes widened in realization when he saw what was in front of him and managed to curl himself into a ball to minimize the damage from the unavoidable hit. When he hit the rock, he couldn’t do anything but allow his body to land on the sand, thankfully a few feet away from the sea water.

The damage wasn’t that bad. But it didn’t mean that it didn’t hurt.

He kneeled on the ground as he coughed, holding one hand around his abdomen to support himself.

He looked up through blurry vision to find his opponent looking back at him, waiting for him to get up.

That look… A sense of déjà vu washed over him.

He suddenly recalled their last battle. The one where he was worried about her holding back.

He huffed a short inaudible laugh at that while mustering whatever energy he had left to stand on his feet, wiping his sweat with his forearm. He remembered how, if he were being honest, that he himself was also holding back during that battle, lest he hurt her.

The situation right now was similar, at least on his part; he was still holding back against her. Then again, he always had. From the very first moment they met.

But she wasn’t. And she was more ruthless than the first time they got into that fight.

She was burning everything around her to the ground, leaving nothing but ashes in her wake. No hint of fear could be seen on her emotionless expression. No remorse. No hesitation.

Her dark eyes were piercing through him, as he was focused on her glowing form, glowing brighter, more fiercely than the sun rising behind her. The sun that overtook the darkness, that started painting everything beyond the hills, except for her form, as her fur remained white, that unfamiliar color on her which he had learned to despise already. He wished the sun had the power to paint her fur back to its normal color. He wished her real self, the one that wasn’t affected by the fake Sol Emeralds, would come back to him.

And Sonic silently wished, if nothing else, that she would hold back against him, even a tiny bit, just like she had back then.

Or that he could find it in him to not hold back himself.

Sonic forced a grin as he spat out blood. “Come on Blaze, give me everything you’ve got.”

He was always up for a good challenge.

I have a revolver with a hammer with 4 shots, 6 cylinders, i find old friends with the military, i hug one i know her face not her name. I see old towers in my training brought down and replaced with inflatable one

I go inside the van playing music on my phone, want to find more ammo, go underneath the van floorboards where i know theres a box of random things. Old friend's coworker is there, i offer candy i found. Everyone else has left, its just us, theres a tv in the van, its playing an emergency braodcast, the coworker sees it, i find one extra round, its pointy instead of round. I break a line of empty capsules that holds each round, i load the capsule with the round, none of the others use capsules.

The emergency broadcast is the president, i remember being here before, i dont look at the tv, i wont look, i need to not look, i hear "...use you nail to dig into dirt, dogs, your face, anything that it takes to survive..." the coworker walks very slowly out of the van without word, i wait till he leaves, im alone with 5 shots, 4 round, 1 pointy. I step outside. Im alone. I need to find my friend, i need to survive, there is something wrong going on

This feels like the 2nd time ive had this dream, the first time my pillars of training were not involved, i dont remember this dream at all, but i feel like i know its the 2nd time

Im the presidents advisor, i see a rockformation that looks like a cross section of a rhino, the president doesnt see it when i tell him.

We go to a hallway, stakley, my old coworker, an asshole and a coward, but somewhat a good person. is introduced to the president related to his hit book he released. I dont think it was that good, i have a figurine from his book, a turtle with a valkeries helmet and a human head on the neck, the helmet doesnt belong, i have a soldiers helmet, i put it on the mans head, it belongs, but it doesnt fit, the mans neck extends, at its end of travel a monsters head replaces the mans. The president walks away, stakley is very happy the president told him he loved the book. I dont think the president even know who he was or that he wrote a book, but because security let him in he thought it was probably a good book

Im in a muddy flatland, maybe the bottom of an empty dam. Old man i work for want me to get at tractor, his other tractor at work isnt enough, or isnt the right one. I need to get the ti-15 , i get bags of hydralic fluid and some kind of worm gears, 3 of them, they are burred, one isnt burred, but its incredibliy worn to the point of perfect smoothness. It looks like swirling oval, like oval shaped double helix, sortof like the special bullets from wanted, but with deep grooves instead of solid lead. the unworn but burred 2 look like metal drill bits for a lathe, also helix patterned cutting surfaces. i use the side of drillbits to cut off burrs, i put fluid in bads and enter tubes to feed the system of the tractor, there are people with me giving genuine if bad advice, one man asks why i dont have a saftey vest on, i raise my coat to show i do have one, one of the bags is torn open, it doesnt matter. The fluid just needs a bag for some reason, doesnt matter, it doesn't need to hold the fluid

SAMMY/EDDIE "SKATE" HUNTER (Streets of Rage)

okay, so, on one hand i think he could handle it and would maybe even arguably find the rudie lifestyle fun - i mean he beats the shit out of mr x's evil criminal organization by breakdancing, he's definitely got the style and goofing off points for it.

BUT ON THE OTHER HAND….. his brother is a cop (later a government agent according to the wiki), and he and his ex-cop friends are all ultimately pretty anti-crime overall (beating the shit out of mr x's flunkies with your fists does not count as a crime). so maybe if he went through a really heavily rebellious phase he'd think about it but otherwise i think this is Not happening.

also i thought he was like 10 which might've also be a problem, but now that i'm looking it seems he never got a confirmed age so where the hell did my brain get THAT number.

SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG (Sonic the Hedgehog)

OHH this is a very very tricky one and i think also depends somewhat on what point in time we're talking here. the first thing that feels notable here is that shadow comes off as a pretty grim self-serious guy a lot of the time and tends to keep to himself - however, he also DOES have friends he cares deeply about (i dont care what sega says) and tends to enjoy being the coolest guy in the room. it'd also probably do him some good to have an artistic outlet for his inner darkness.

that being said, i feel like he'd find the GGs and the other rudies to be petty and juvenile (dude, you're like mentally 15! you're basically younger than the youngest GG!); and on top of that he's working pretty closely with G.U.N. which kinda makes him part of the establishment, right?

however. there is a window of time that i think shadow's odds of joining the GGs is actually very likely, which is during the era around his self-titled game. shadow is at his most lost and confused at that point (i mean you saw how many story routes there were.) and i think if he met the GGs then they would be all totally like "hey dont let people push you around into who THEY tell you you're supposed to be, make your own path" and it would emotionally resonate with him and there'd be a cool end cutscene where he's like "I… am Shadow the Hedgehog. Once born to be the ultimate lifeform, now one of the GGs. I paint my own destiny. This… is WHO I AM." and awesome credits music plays. hope you liked my shadow fanfic

PAINT ROLLER (Kirby)

are you fucking kidding me of course he would, no hesitation. he was pretty much BORN for this. maybe he'd have trouble getting the GGs to take him seriously on account of the fact he is a funny little circle, but hey the GGs let anyone join if they are cool enough at skate tricks and i think paint roller could pull it off. also i think being a funny little circle would make paint roller better at avoiding consequences.

HOWEVER. i do think that paint roller tagging up the city would eventually have dire consequences due to his art's tendency to come to life. like im talking like the streets crowded with all sorts of random creatures and objects and stuff, kirby has to show up to save the day, it's a whole Thing.

YUICHI "ICHI" TAIRA (Paranoia Agent)

fuck no, never in a million years. ichi is a Perfect Little Straight A's Golden Student Who Everybody Loves and frankly he's furious that you'd even imply he'd consider turning to delinquency. he'd probably regard the GGs as selfish attention whores who only cause trouble because they're too pathetic to get anyone to like them. it's NOT FAIR that you're confusing ICHI with that brat beat just because they both wear golden skates!!!

i think though that in a direct confrontation he'd actually be pretty scared of rudies, cuz like, ichi is only about 13 while even the youngest GG is 16. he'd totally want to tell them to their faces how worthless they are and how they're ruining everything for everyone with common sense, but instead he'll just call the cops on them.

SHOUNEN BAT/LIL' SLUGGER (Paranoia Agent)

Uh. Well . if you know his deal already then you probably already know the answer is "I don't think that would even be fucking possible". like can you IMAGINE. but even certain details about his nature aside, i think he's just plain too malevolent for the GGs, though.

(now, a certain spoiler character, on the other hand. i honestly don't think he'd try to join the GGs. but i think he theoretically COULD'VE and if he did i think it would have been MUCH better for him than what he actually did.)

Examples: Like he compliments her, takes a harsh blow for her, gives her her fav candy after a hard fight but she only sees all of that as being friendly and nice then later when Robin is out of the room she sighs all love struck and is all like “I wish I could ask out Robin” and everyone just face palms. Valentines day. The worst day of the year, especially for a girl like you. You've found yourself alone every year, and this year is probably no exception. You can't even get the guts to ask out the guy you like, and he's on your team! This is on me, you thought glumly.

You sat in Starfire's room with her and Raven as you watched her get ready for the day.

"So what are you doing today, Starfire?" You asked, watching her brush her hair in front of her vanity. You were laying on her bed as Raven sat cross legged next to you.

"Oh! Friend Raven and I will be seeing a movie at the place of theaters!" She said cheerfully.

“Have you asked Robin out yet?” Raven asked with a smirk. Your face burned red.

“I- Robin? What makes you think I like Robin???” you stutter, sitting up straight.

Starfire floated over to you. “Oh! The two of you would be perfect for each other! You are always together and-” You cut her off, extremely flustered.

“We’re not always together, and besides, he obviously doesn’t see me that way, so there’s no point in asking him out anyways.” You stared at your feet in embarrassment. Starfire and Raven looked at each other.

They were about to reply when the alarm went off, flashing red and blaring a horn. The three of you race out of Starfire's room and into the main room, where you find the three boys already there.

“The HIVE five are roaming Jump City,” Robin announces, staring at the screen in the center of the room.

“Man, didn't we just like to fight them?” Beast Boy whines.

“Complainings for later, let's go!” Robin orders, and you all hurry to the tower’s exit. Robin puts his hand on your shoulder before you leave.

“Um, I just wanted to say that you looked nice today,” he stuttered. You thought it was nice of him to say something like that to you.

“Aw, thanks man! I appreciate it!” you smile, patting the hand he had on your shoulder. You ran to join the others.

You found the HIVE five at the Jump City bank, loading sacks of cash into a truck. Gizmo noticed you first and yelled at his team. They all turned to you and took a fighting stance.

“Titans go!” Robin yelled, charging forward. You followed his lead and clashed with the five villains. This time you square up against Jinx, who stares at you nonchalantly. She smiles and points her finger at you. Pink energy shoots out towards you but you block it with a shield of water.

“Don’t you guys take the holidays or something?” you huff, dropping your shield. The pink haired girl smirks.

“The HIVE stops for nothing, not even your stupid little holidays!” She lunges towards you to throw a punch. You dodge, and kick at her stomach. She groans, but lunges at you again, You dodge again, but this time she grabbed your arm and threw you over her shoulder, causing you to hit the ground hard. You quickly got up, but she shot a wave of magic at you, sending you into a wall. The wall cracked from the impact, and you sat slumped on the floor, your head ringing. You tried to focus your vision as Jinx stood across from you, ready to bring the final blow. Pink energy crackled out of her hands and you closed your eyes expecting pained and-

You hear a yell in front of you as you reopen your eyes. Robin stood staggered in front of you, taking the impact of Jinx’s magic.

“Robin!” you yell, rushing towards him as he collapses towards you. You held him in your arms as you glared at Jinx, burning with rage.

“Awww looks like your boyfriend’s not doing too well,” she laughed, a hand on her hip.

“Boyfriend? We’re not dating.” you said.

“You’re not?”

“Yeah I mean he’s cute and everything but he obviously doesn’t see me like that so- You thought we were dating???”

“You guys seemed like a couple so i kinda just assumed-” She was suddenly cut off by being hit with a blast. More specifically Cyborg’s sonic arm cannon.

“Boo-yah!” he cheered, giving you a thumbs up. You gave a pained smile as you continued to hold the boy wonder in your lap.

You sat by Robin’s side in the infirmary, watching his sleeping body. Jinx’s blow must have given him a concussion, because he was out like a light the whole way back to the tower. You quietly jumped as he finally stirred awake.

“... Aquagirl?” he croaked, slightly lifting up his head.

“The one and only,” you smile. “You alright? You got hit pretty badly.”

“Yeah… I’m ok. Listen there’s something I need to tell you I-” He started but you stopped him.

“Robin, whatever it is you want to tell me you can tell me later ok? You need some rest,” you say. “And, thank you, for what you did back there. I don’t know what I would do without you.”

You leave the infirmary and meet with all the Titans in the living room. They all stared at you as you entered the room.

“What?” you ask, taking a seat next to Cyborg.

“Well?? DId you ask Robin out?” Beast Boy asked, looking at you with raised eyebrows.

energetic would deffo think hes too annoying to all of them but like!! he has too much energy!! he has to burn it off soMEHOW so theyre just like "no another time not now" and its like hes just!! he probably starts getting kidna sad but like he has other friends to play with, right?

determine is a bomb abt to EXPLODE and like!! he has pure anxiety, he always needs to know shadows and also his friends locations and they have to tell him or else he just starts panicking and cant function until he sees them again. also with how he blames himself for everything, probably has a tendency to apologize all the time so theyre confused cuz hed be with vanilla, cream, n amy and hed accidentally knock somethin over and go "im so sorry I shouldn't have done that why did i do that i should leave" and shadow probably has to calm him down the most

competitive is 2000% existing because he says he "needs to be better than everybody else" when its just "i want to prove to myself im good enough" when he cant, he doesnt know if he is bc like!! only shadow can race against him and they always tie and he probably ends up pushing himself So Hard that shadow has to just make a competition out of getting rest or else competition dead straight won't sleep until hes perfected this, gotten better at that, made sure he didnt lose any skill on something, or etc bc he still wants to prove to not just himzelf but to everybody hes good enough so they can confide in him!!

Also, I usually draw them with the same other characters a lot, like I usually draw Competitive with Knuckles, and Knuckles at first just goes along, fights Competitive and everyone happy, but then it's like weeell he kind of has a very important emerald to look after, and everytime Competitive looses he wants a rematch and it just gets tiring. But like, Competitive feels the need to prove that he is strong and capable! So they get stuck on his loop.

Then there's Energetic and Amy, he kind of just shows up, looking to burn some energy, and at first she just lets him, but she isn't really pleased with having him running around in her house, he starts bumping into things and breaking some other, and even if he is sorry he just can't stop moving! Amy then starts trying to get him to stop, or to just get him out of the house but she also feels a little guilty because she knows he doesn't do it on purpose.

There's also Determined and Shadow, we all know Determined follows him around and tries to protect him all the time, but it starts to intervene with Shadow's life as well. Rouge is kind of annoyed by it, and it causes trouble at GUN, and Shadow's an introvert, so being followed around isn't really his favorite thing. I just imagine Shadow just walking while Determined is not only behind him, but looking around, suddenly making Shadow stop if he hears anything weird, or sees anyone suspicious, but it's actually nothing. Shadow would try to get him to leave him alone, but Determined always has the 'what if's.

Finally there's Chill, Kind and Tails. Tails is very busy, trying to find a solution for this five Sonics thing, but it's a little hard with two out of five always distracting him. I imagine Kind offering to help, at first Tails let him, but something goes wrong and he's like 'haha never again' and then Kind is just left to stand behind Tails, waiting to be given a task, while Chill isn't actually helping at all, he's using all the space just laying around, if Tails ever needs him he's okay with helping??? But he doesn't really put all his effort in, so in the end it's as if he did nothing. It's not that he doesn't want to help, but like, why ask him? Kind is already there and eager to help.

I also like to think about interactions between the Sonics! Because some of them are kind of opposites, like Kind and Competitive, or Chill and Energetic (or Chill and Determined), so it's fun to imagine things like Competitive going around showing everyone how strong and fast he is, and Kind's just like 'well you're not being very nice' and Competitive doesn't really know how to react???? Or Determined being all worried over something, and desperately trying to fix it, and Chill just being like 'dude chill, you're exaggerating way too much' So that's interesting too, even more considering it's quite literally just Sonic talking to himself:)

the second thing is when yasper explains that he didn’t intend for aniq to get tied up into everything and my personal headcanon that yasper probably would have let him take the fall despite what he told him (“it’s no surprise I turned you in/cuz us traitors never win/I’m in the getaway car/I left you in the motel bar/put the money in the bag and I stole the keys/that was the last time you ever saw me”) honestly it kinda hurts my entire being :)

okay now I’m imagining golden wind as an otome

It’s called something cheesy and dumb like Burning Passione, obvi it’s gender neutral reader like the arcana, everyone is 18 or older and they all are alive, and mc= main character/reader (I like using mc instead of ‘you’ or s/o bc it allows for the input of characters as well as self-inserts while still being gn!)

Giorno as the shy yet serious type, always off on ‘business��, probably has a story conflict art where mc confronts him about cheating and he reveals he’s the don of passione, leaving them speechless (but kinda horny ooh) and the route closes with them becoming the don’s prized s/o

Bruno as the overworked, tired, stern fatherly guy and right hand to the don, but the charming and fun lover when he has time to spare with mc. His route is about him being distant at first, torn over his love for mc and not wanting to involve them in mafia affairs, until eventually they stubbornly worm their way into his work family too, and they wed under the Venetian sun in spring.

Abbacchio as the moody, distant type who makes mc question if he even cares about them, but then in the quiet moments between the danger of his lifestyle and the emotional turmoil inside him, it’s like mc is the only person in the world. The conflict in his story is getting him to overcome his own emotions and let mc into his life, settling into something comfortable built on trust.

(It’s kind of open-ended, I just can’t picture Abbacchio as the type to have a fantasy fairytale wedding, but I think it would be something more personal, and mc feels cherished.)

Narancia as the fun loving goofball who meets mc by accident, crashing into them headfirst running from *another* fire he started, and it’s the classic meet-cute “hands brush while gathering spilled items” trope, and he cutely tells you jokes while apologizing [im so sorry, gah, hey! cute keychain! sonic go broom broom hehehe also sORRY AGAIN] and basically steals ur heart, and sequentially dragging you along on all of his wild adventures and schemes, and it’s happily ever after when he proposes with a ring pop ;3

Mista as the heroic gunman who rescues a charming hostage (mc) and when they thank him with a kiss, he faints, and they have to drive him to the hospital, where they catch up with each other and fall in love, eventually marrying after Mista proposes in the middle of a shootout like the unexpectedly smooth motherfucker he is, and he, mc, and the six bullets become a happy little familia-tied family.

Fugo as the classic tsundere ‘it’s not like I like you or anything, baka’ type, starting as mc’s tutor whenthey join passione, slowly becoming a friend, and then one night in the middle of an argument he heatedly kisses them and pours his heart out into mc’s waiting palms, and from there a relationship blooms, fugo allowing them to soften his rougher edges and fugo teaching mc street and book smarts, making up the perfect duo of vengeful little shits (I say that with love of course)

Doctor Who Tag Game

Favourite Doctor:  still Ten, i love 12 and 13 almost as much, even if not harder atm, but if it comes to choosing 1 fav doctor then it’s always Ten, so far no one stepped higher for me :’D I loved his era, i loved so many episodes with him, his season arcs, his companions, his relationships with everyone, and this is the only Doctor whose regeneration was smooth for me, he was continuation of Ninth Doctor and it felt like that. I was not like ‘but he is so different in so many ways’ nope, never. Maybe it’s because companions were the same, everyone was still around which was great btw, and I fell in love with the show with Tenth Doctor, dare I say that I stopped watching back then when Matt Smitt became doctor? lmao, must be shock for some but yes, I dropped this show because of THAT lmao??now i laugh at my own self but yeah, i did. where’s everyone, why it feels so different? that was huge nope. Only years later I got back into it, thanks to amazing Michelle Gomez. Actually I was not even going to watch other doctors at that moment, but I watched episodes only with Missy, then i said well it’s not bad I like it and Missy and Twelve were?? OOOF LOVES OF MY LIFE FOR SURE because their relationship were so cool and of course i loved it, so i started a huge rewatch, the first since i dropped the show. Fell in love with Doctor/Master all over again, Ten was as amazing as I remembered, Nine was perfect and I love him too!!! and then... i got to s5... oh god, i was like, let’s give him a chance, what do i lose? but it still felt so weird, and the show was so different, and suddenly everyone else is so important but where are old characters? but i got into it because i have already seen some of 12′s episodes and i got used to the style?? i guess. and then River appeared, not because of her but around episode 5 or 6 i was into it already, not as much as i was before but anyway, maybe weeping angels helped because i loved them and it reminded me of Ten, i felt some kind of a connection to old doctor. I liked River with 10, i thought i will like her with 11 too... but alas, still felt like you know those boys who have never had sex but try to act like they know everything about it and hit on every moving thing and think they do it cool? :D i am sorry if i hurt someone’s feelings with it, but that’s how 11 was for me back then, and while I do understand river/11 it’s the least of all river ships for me, 11 is still the least fav doctor because of those feelings i had back then when i stopped watching, they are not rational i know that now but still feel them, but i love him now, and will protect that kid at all costs! i love ponds, i will kill if anyone says anything bad about Rory Williams! and Amy and Rory? quoting my favorite star trek couple? DUDE WE GO TOGETHER OR NOT AT ALL!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! and even if i was not into all river/11 relationship i loved the story, and of course i liked 12, but s8 still feels like what the hell for me, not because of the doctor but because they tried so hard to show clara as bossy, i mean, i liked her with 11 and then suddenly they turn her into some control freak, it was not so MUCH with 11... but i know now why they did it, so Missy’s words have an effect and all. but still, i love clara before and after s8 :’D s9 clara? i will kill for her too. it’s too long but idk  :’D and actually, this shows that if you give it a chance even if you don’t like actor/actress at first - you might love the show ;) so stop acting like jodie is miscast honestly, i am ready to fight anyone for saying that :D say whatever you want about plot choices, but do not fucking act like it’s Jodie’s fault! actors are not responsible for show runner choices. She acts amazing with the material she has. anyway, 10 is my fav idiot!

Favourite Sonic: honestly? i don’t really remember any sonic but 12′s glasses :D so... glasses. I mean, i don’t really care how it looks like, it does its job... most of the time lmao, but i liked those glasses and the thing with browser history was my fav :D

Favourite Companion: oh it’s soooo hard!!! either Donna or Bill. I can’t choose. but yeah, those are both with whom there were no ‘romantic’ relationship implied, i love friends more than couples. and I just loved 10 and Donna as a team and Bill and 12, i still wish they had more time. also Martha, the smartest companion lol she was amazing.

Favourite Story: anything involving The Master :D all episodes with them are my favs, but i can’t just pick one story, i still remember the first episode i watched back when it was airing and are you my mummy stuck in my head for the rest of my life giving me brrrr feeling, like it was not scary but somehow made me super uncomfortable? also vashta nerada?? duuuuude, you can’t just look at the shadow the same way. and ten/river together were really great, i mean, he did not know who is she, the mystery, i love shit like that?? yeesss!!!!! there are so many great ones. I don’t want to choose.

Favourite Soundtrack: that unreleased tiny melody when the master dies in the last of the time lords T--T and this is gallifrey and clara’s theme! those are my favs. and I also really like 11′s theme, kinda ready for adventures and doing some weird but funny shit :D

Dream Actor for next Doctor: ooooof OOOOF dude! you know what, usually it is one actor for 3 seasons, that’s how it was for the last 3 doctors, i want Jodie to break that rule and stay with us for 4th season as well, i just want to see how pissed off those haters will be lmao i really really think the entire timeless child thing will not feel the same with someone else yet, and i don’t think they will reveal much in 13th season, that’s HUGE thing, or they should make it so good and the next doctor... aaah i don’t want to feel that change again, like i did with 10 to 11, and felt with the every next doctor, but i overcome that shit and just give them a chance, it’s the doctor after all and im sure loving all of them now. not sure it can disappoint me even if most of plot choices in the season are ... weak. idk who, there are so many great actors but whoever i choose will not be as great as someone they choose, because they always somehow cast amazing people, but i agree with emily it’s time for a doctor of color! tho, they can’t go back to white male actor right now, i just can imagine how it will look like, with all the hate Jodie received and how people still whine about female doctor, it will look like they tried and decided to go back to white male doctors, one half will be happy but the other one will eat them alive! so yeah, i am pretty sure it’s not gonna be white man again yet lol

Dream Story: well, considering 13 is in jail now, i would love to see someone “we know” rescuing her, because honestly if they just showed me jack and left it like that, i will not accept it!!! but also since yaz will be the only one left with the doctor, since bradley and tosin leave the show, i hope we will have some yaz and doctor relationship development without anyone else, maybe jack could stay because i love him, but jack’s presence did not hurt doctor and rose relationship development back then, so it should not hurt now also. but if they bring someone new, at least don’t make it right away, let yaz and 13 have an adventure at least 1 episode, some talk and stuff. so when yaz leaves also... (and i kind of had that stupid feeling that yaz will die in the end, because somehow everything hints on that for me? idk maybe it’s because i rewatched and giffed orphan 55 today and vilma (?) telling yaz to run and stay alive kinda felt like something that hints on yaz’s future... and yaz is always going somewhere without thinking, to random alien ship, to save the doctor, she steps into trouble like a doctor hoping everything will somehow be ok, but im not even sure she hopes, it’s more like i am as good as her so i can do it, not in clara’s way when everything hinted she is like the doctor, because let’s be honest she was and even got her own tardis, but she thinks she is, but she is not, i think some day that might end bad for her... so when she also leaves i don’t want it be like well yeah, what’s next? i mean, i still miss Bill, that was like NOOOOOO with tears and screams for me, i loved Bill! and we had 2 seasons with yaz and i still don’t feel the same connection to any of the current companions atm, so i would like the show to make me love them more, i do love them, just not as much as those i still miss, but im sure defending any of them lmao i love them anyway. you know what i mean...

A Companion You’d like to see back: oh OH. we cant bring them back for entire season right? but doctor can meet Donna at some point, which will have no point lmao cos she doesn’t remember and it will only hurt doctor and i don’t see how her appearance will help any plot, it will be just fanservice cameo. But Bill is out there with Heather, they are powerful creatures now, i think it could somehow fit into the story, I want Bill back. But also, Clara is still one heartbeat away from death, she can be out there, and she has tardis. tiny cameos will be fine for me :D and Martha, but also Madam Vastra and Jenny, Kate and Osgood, where they are??? bring them back and it can make sense, their appearances. I mean, imagine someone from UNIT in s11, not unit itself but osgood??? it would feel so much different. 

An Enemy/Alien/Creature you’d like to see again: weeping angels!!!! OOOF they were creepy, and i love them, like, DON’T BLINK!!! how can you not blink for so long? that is cool, i want them back. and also the most beautiful shots are always with angels so... :’D

If you could travel with one of the Doctors, which Doctor and why?: oooh, while 10 is my fav, and I totally would hit on 13 :D i will choose 12, 12 from season 10, because he was such a grandpa, no lovey dovey stuff, he would lecture me on thing i do, give me new info about something, we would explore shit together and he would be like a grandpa i never had. We would definitely have long discussions about stuff and have good laugh together and i would make references to movies and then we would watch those movies :D i would act like Bill lmao yess i want to travel with 12!!!

Not very anymore. I draw a lot of inspiration from the classic games and general plot of StC but at this point my muse is just on his own track and I’m living for it.

He’s a sweetheart. He’s one of those people who’s been to hell and back but still has a positive outlook on life, who loves the little things and tries to make life better for everyone. He’s super chill around most people but very passionate around his friends and family. The things he loves, he loves with all his heart. He’s not perfect but his flaws have definitely shaped him into who he is now, and the result is a pretty good person.

He honestly might be a little too chill at times. He’s very tolerant so trying to get a rise out of him or upset him is very hard and that can sometimes be offputting, I know. That and I know people like to ship a lot here but he is not a person to just fall head over heels and snap into love, it takes a lot of time and sometimes people aren’t willing to put in the effort. That and the fact he’s based on a comic series I don’t think a lot of people like/have read.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO RP YOUR MUSE?  

A fanfic, sort of. That’s where his base story came from. I started here doing a blog for a Bunnie, then moved to Arrow because I love Sonic as a character and wanted to give him a go. There’s been a lot of failed muses on my part, more than I’ll admit, but Arrow’s always stuck around for some reason and was always pretty well-received and I think that’s why he’s still around to this day.

Always. That’s why it was so fun here years ago. A lot of the headcanons I have for my muse now came from conversations with old partners and questions that made me think outside the box, they're just so much fun.

I guess? I like hashing out details like that but I’m also a person who’s been here for way too long and at this point I don’t think I’m going to have any headcanons that don’t have some logical roots, if that makes sense? In the end, headcanons are just a person’s ideas so disagreements are natural. 

IF SOMEONE DISAGREES WITH YOUR PORTRAYAL, HOW WOULD YOU TAKE IT?  

I wouldn’t care, honestly. I’m sure a lot of people don’t like my portrayal but I’m having a blast with it and that’s what I’m here for. Don’t get me wrong, if I’m doing something that’s super offensive or inaccurate I’d want them to tell me, but if it’s just to nit-pick I won’t give it a second thought.

IF SOMEONE REALLY HATES YOUR CHARACTER, HOW DO YOU TAKE IT?  

Again, I wouldn’t care. I’m not trying to please the masses here, just have fun and be a little creative in my downtime.

Omg yes. I can’t tell you how many times I go and re-read things and see all these little mistakes and die a little inside. Also I question a lot of words I use and I’m pretty sure I don’t spell some right in certain contexts so if you read this and see something, please tell me. I can’t learn otherwise. 

DO YOU THINK YOU ARE EASY GOING AS A MUN?  

I do, but I will say that I’m also pretty blunt which some people can’t handle. If you ask me something I’ll tell you exactly what I think of it so I think that makes me a little intimidating but I never mean to be. Overall, I love talking to people and I’ll never ignore an ask or IM here or on Discord. I might be late getting to it because of work and other things, but I will get to it before too long. 

I will say that I’ve changed how I interact with people these days. I don’t follow as liberally as I used to and I really only come on here to answer drafts anymore, with a meme or something every once in a while to have a little fun. The people I do follow are a certain type now and even then I don’t really check my dash so I’ve never up to date on things and can’t really talk about what might be going on in that respect but I’m always willing to lend an ear if someone needs it. 

And I implore you guys to talk to me if you ever have a question or something because I’m always happy to clear something up or help with a problem.

ok you’ve all been waiting for it my thoughts on the sonic movie!!!

so overall! I really liked the movie! I think it sorta landed pretty in the ballpark of what I sorta expected quality-of-plot wise and how much I’d be entertained by it. which is satisfying!!! I’m going to like, stream of thought this, starting with some criticisms which are gonna be kinda hefty cause im critiquing something I care about 

so right away I really disliked the “record scratch so this is me I bet you’re wondering how I got in this situation” opening like I’m not sure if it was intentionally a self aware joke on that being cliche and dumb but it does like, really frustrate me cause my philosophy for most stories is Start your story where it begins!! which made the backstory infodump more frustrating on top of that, like, I think that’s an easy mistake to make to want to spill your Backstory right away but it’s not necessary! the audience doesn’t NEED to know immediately what sonic was like in his homeworld and his tragic separation from it. we already have the audiences suspension of disbelief in play because they know they’re watching.. a movie about sonic the hedgehog in the real world. I think the backstory stuff would have been much more impactful as a flashback later on, especially when sonic’s whole arc is how lonely and isolated he is. it would be a better punch in the heart to later on be like so by the way as a child his guardian probably died and sent him to earth for his own safety. so that was like AUGH you blew it 

next up that i think was unnecessary like, completely, was establishing that sonic already knew the main cop guy and his wife (omg I already forgot their names..because they were not memorable but we’ll get to that fjdsg) and like, secretly immersed himself into their life that’s ?? odd to me? I think it would have been fine to just have sonic be like attached to the whole small town and he thinks the cop is cool and calls him donut lord, and that’s the extent of it like cause the problem is later down the plot when sonic finds out cop guy is leaving green hills and flips out about it.. I’m like, not sure if I believe sonic, immersing himself in their life, had NOT known that was a thing cop guy wanted to do like he NEVER heard about that??? but that’s like whatever 

I don’t really like the cop guy as the protag human like. oof he was very bland and I’m trying to figure out how to put this into words............ I feel like a character like him isn’t someone the audience can really connect to. this guy has a virtually perfect life with a house and a dog and a job and a wife, his Conflict is that he wants to move to california and see more action and save people, but the WEIRDEST thing about it is that the prospect of leaving his little town behind isn’t really shaking him up at all. it shakes SONIC up later, but up until that point.... the cop just has legit a perfect life and it’s kinda sad because sonic appearing in it physically becomes something that immediately has the effect of “starting to ruin it” and thats why the cop is so like, mean about things at first. 

see I don’t really like that it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. if I were to rewrite this keeping the general ideas in mind, I would have opted for a ... paul blart crossed with judy hopps. a guy who’s life isn’t all in order, maybe not living in trash but he doesn’t have a wife, he DREAMS of being a cop and saving people, but he doesn’t quite have what it takes physically/mentally or maybe he’s too afraid to even try. he loves his rural town but thinks like, maybe if I move to the big city I’ll find myself maybe he’s offered a job there for something boring and is like resigning to a boring life idk there’s a lot you can do but you get the idea! a lonely underdog with big dreams. so when Sonic comes into his life, its WAY more impactful to paul hopps.....judy blart...... that Sonic pleads for help saving his life and this sudden adventure isn’t ruining his life either. 

then LATER when we get to sonic being upset that paul hopps wants to leave, it’s less this awkward confrontation “how dare you wanna live your already in motion dreams somewhere ELSE  because people love you HERE” (like .. oof bad take tbh) it would be a much nicer “why do you want to leave your home to become a hero when everyone here already sees you as one” and instead of the shabby like “well I guess I’ll stay because i crossed off saving someone from my bucket list” paul hopps would feel fulfilled he saved sonic and I actually you know what? I’d change up the whole scene with the turtle to be at the end where paul hopps becomes a cop in green hills and he like, saves a turtle crossing the road and is like! that’s what its all about being a hero! like thats cute and resonates with an audience, the message like, being a hero just means being kind and doing the right thing, which is way more suitable for a sonic movie when the sonic series has always been a campy power of friendship thing. 

in a similar vein, the cop being a lonely underdog would give him a better connection with sonic, so that even if he was annoyed by him at first he’d later have the understanding they’re one in the same, you know? connections people!! themes!!!! 

anyway but enough of that au 

so the last thing I’m like iffy about is how robotnik was handled. like jim carry is funny and stuff but it felt like a bit of a mess like, this character is repeatedly reminding us what a hard ass I’M SUPERIOR THAN YOU MY IQ IS HUGE but then being super mega goofy, like I’m all for eccentric scientists but it felt kind of disconnected? and idk like not to be that guy but man.. i remember when sonic 06 came out and everyone hated how eggman was slimmed down to what he looked like in that game jfkdfsgksdj like my brain really doesn’t find a fully slender bodied eggman palatable like......... let my mans be fat ... WHICH tbh I’m a little nervous because at the end of the movie we see this implication that robotnik is turning more visually into the eggman we know with the stache and bald head but I’m worried they’re gonna also go with “and he also gets fat” cause I don’t like that sort of thing, you know? 

i think that’s all for my major criticisms!! but otherwise like! the movie was genuinely really fun and goofy and it felt very in spirit with the sonic franchise! 

if you read bogleech’s post I agree with him whole heartedly that this is the best characterization of sonic. it feels almost like?????? the characterization he was MEANT To have but he always ended  up going TOO MUCH in the direction of confident and cocky and being too cool and successful about it? I love sonic with that hyper teenager-like personality, it’s incredibly charming and cute, like I never Hated sonic as a character but he was defs like... lower on my list of characters in the franchise I found interesting. I felt like I could connect with movie sonic a lot and like! i’d want to be his friend, you know? I really really want to see more of him like that! 

I also agree big time that the movie had the best use of bullet time I’ve ever seen! I’m like omg?? WHY hasnt that ever been a mechanic in a game? 

and overall just like the cuteness like............I literally almost cried when the little girl gave sonic her shoes like AAAAAAAAAAAAA WEEPS............ and the end with sonic getting his own room thats so super cute too!!!! 

oh and the post credits scene with tails was SO FUCKING HYPE like, people in the theater audibly gasped and started being like  YESSSSSSS tails looks really great! 

so like YEAH dabs ,, being a story snob aside it was a fun and cute movie and I’m glad to hear it trumped detective pikachu for a video game movie  I’m glad it’s brought some attention to the sonic franchise! like while it’s cool in some aspects that Nerd Culture is mainstream now, it’s absolutely exhausting the HUGE focus on that is marvel and DC and all that stuff........ like theres nothing wrong w/ liking that but its like.. hm.... idk how to explain it but................. as someone who was bullied a lot in school for liking things like sonic.. like I guess stuff like that people usually see as lame stuff for babies??? superheroes are more like, macho and palatable to adults?? it’s been a good experience for all my normie coworkers to ask what I did for valentines day and I tell them “I saw the sonic the hedgehog movie” and I BRACE myself reflexively to be laughed at but not a single person did they were just like oh cool! how was it? like it really makes me appreciate I got to at least grow up and feel a little more accepted!

issue #23 made me really heccin’ emo over eggman and sonic. i was prepared for it, but also ?? not prepared??? holy frick im just gonna ramble under the cut.

first of all, i’m just gonna’ idly ramble about some things i noticed.

Eggman, literally 11 issues ago:

he makes these off remarks and then changes his mind whenever it’s convenient for him smh. that or hes a freaking liar and. WELL THAT’S PRETTY TRUE HONESTLY.

i’ma be honest fam starline is a freaking mood rn. it’s ?? so dumb?? LIKE EGGMAN WHERE IS YOUR FUCKING FAILSAFE UR SOLUTION WAS “not touching the robots hurr durr” PL EASE.

In retrospect, though, this is an interesting parallel to Forces because he’d apparently learned from his mistakes. TBF, and it has been brought up elsewhere on tumblr, this is a man recovering from amnesia. He must’ve just not gotten to that part. OR HE’S JUST. DUMB AND ARROGANT. Like, yeah, sure, there’s no vaccine - lol the heroes can’t fix anything & it also means you’re valuable because you’re the one person who can. BUT COME ON EGGMAN.

my friend actually predicted this holy shit. i was rambling abt a discussion we had in the egg cult, where we were talking about the possibility of sonic infecting eggman to blackmail him into getting the cure because he’s reached the point?? hes so done with eggman’s shit??? all his friends are in danger and hes backed into a wall what else is he to do than do the one thing he doesn’t want to: use eggman’s tactics against him?

and my friend was like:

LIKE. IT IS A HUGE RISK, and Sonic went FOR IT. I’M SCREAMING TBH.

THIS CONFRONTATION WAS SO FUCKING RAW YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND. I thought I was ready for it but I really, REALLY wasn’t. I love the little details of Starline bein’ like: “oh fuck” - usually he’s pretty cocky around Sonic but uh. HE’S INFECTED NOW. And the zero remark - idk if that’s intentional on the writer’s part but ZERO TO HERO anyone?

anyway toxi broke down crying at this point. you have no idea how much i was sobbing over my blue son just. pouring out his heart to his nemesis. that’s top tier tearjerking material.  also starline passive aggressively readjusting his outfit lmfao. BITCH IM FABULOUS. but man the usage of ‘ BE’ and ‘LIKE’ - Sonic knows who Eggman is; he’d never ask him to be something he’s not. but it’s also a reiteration of sonic’s want to see good in him; being LIKE tinker is a statement in that he wanted eggman to be who he was, but NOT to go back. to do good for the world. have it be his own decision, because deep deep down:

isn’t that what he really wants?

Also, although there are those sickly sweet descriptions, the usage of ellipses in this narrative really fucks me up because you can practially hear the gradual realization in eggman’s voice. his mockery starts out so !!! but it just eventually gets straight to the point, as a list. as a routine. because he was used to it. and because, some part of him misses it. notice the usage of ‘need’ and ‘use’. they needed him, and yet he used the people that appreciated him sm like puppets.

some nice guilt there, huh, doc?

ALSO I SPENT LIKE, HOURS TRYING TO FIND THIS EXACT DIALOGUE, but Eggman has a conversation in Dark Brotherhood with Sonic and makes this remark:

LIKE??? this isn’t new to his character, actually? Ignoring the ken penders thing bc smh. Going by this game he’s actually kind of okay with that set up. And he just works so well with the others too??? this isn’t even taking into account the other games he’s teamed up with them. I’m sorry but my head just goes back to this line so many times; it’s one of the ones that stick with me, along with ‘complicated guy’ from lost world. HE COULD!! legitimately do good. and he actually doesn’t find it too bad??? IM EMO MAN...

and IMAGINE making super cool things that people genuinely like... eggman has a HUGE ego, that much is very apparent; he’s super big on appreciation as comes with. and with tinker? he had that - he felt appreciated and loved. people LIKED what he made, and he didn’t have to bend over backwards to have that. his work felt included and he didn’t have to take that appreciation by force like he did with his lackeys (which half the time was fake anyway) .

first and foremost - WE SEE THAT OPEN YOUR HEART REFERENCE, IDW. also sonic’s frustration here, in comparison to the lil smile the panel before - he’s just!! “WHY CANT YOU WAKE THE FRICK UP OLD MAN”. the justification here seems a tad bit like DENIAL to me. and the justification seems... kind of odd from him? since when does EGGMAN justify anything he does? He does what he wants and when he wants, because he’s the E.G.G.M.A.N. he doesn’t care what anyone thinks... right?

it’s because - especially with the usage of better - he didn’t like where that train of thought was going. for once, he’s justifying himself - because the alternative is admitting sonic is right. that he did like that life. that he’d want to go back. throw it in a hierachy and it’s all so simple, right?

also the inclusion of open your heart lyrics here. the incident with chaos was just as catastrophic. and these lyrics in context of the previous panel, highlights how sonic and eggman both seek unity and peace but in their own ways; eggman’s is just evil. it seems a little bit of a diversion to me - to antagonise sonic and make him forget about it. what better way to do that than to relate to him? ‘own styles that we won’t change’ highlights a stubbornness in ways, too, especially with the current context of eggman denying his old life. ALSO IT IS LITERALLY TELLING EGGMAN TO OPEN HIS HEART.

and ngl this seems like idle banter to hide the fact he genuinely felt remorse for his actions for a second. because lbr he has a habit of being all talk when a plan goes wrong or suffering inside,

which starline does quite pointedly explain.

As I was saying above, Sonic has no choice in what to do now - he’s reaching his limit. OR ELSE. hes pondering doing the thing he doesnt want to do. and honestly, ‘you can’t stop me. no one can,’ is so hardhitting not just because of its looming threat, but because of how much it solidifies for sonic that he can’t take the chance anymore. if anyone is going to change eggman, it has to be himself.

also can i just cry over how much sonic trusts tails. im getting sa2 flashbacks.

also man i’d like to point out the specific use of ‘lock you away forever’. it coooould be a reference to sonic’s time imprisoned during the events of sonic forces. bitterness?

NOT SAYING I CALLED IT, BUT I CALLED IT. it still hurts though. and wow, it really is horrifying when eggman fears his own heccin’ creation, huh?

i live for sonic being passive aggressive with eggman. give me more please.

im immensely concerned the direction starline is going, honestly. but it does say a lot about eggman; how he’ll keep trying the same things expecting different results, but failing and never seeing that. because he’s EGGMAN; every plan is brilliant by default!

also, man, can we talk about eggman avoiding his blatant faults, and shoving his failures onto someone else? because this little scene here - eggman ur literally the one who crashed the thing. it had absolutely nothing to do with sonic. i feel as though this is symbolism of his self-destructive nature, honestly. hes always gotta make things harder for himself. (also starline’s face is killing me)

Eggman does what he has to, but technology won’t work every time you kick it. he thinks he can get everything through force but we have several instances in idw where force did NOT work out; you’re not gonna get far, egghead.

MHM, and just who does that sound like, Eggman? honestly the mirrors between these two are seriously destroying me. although sonic is in a horrible position, so is eggman; he likes to think he’s won the war, but hes surpassed his own expectations, and that’s going to backfire on him eventually. hes stubborn to admit he has NO REIGN over this and they’re all doomed, so he’s pinning his failures / loss on Sonic.

is that the amnesia kicking ya in the shin, eggman? or sonic’s reality check? either way, the doc hates emotions. dammit man why you gotta make him emo

future eggman is going to kick past eggman in the kneecaps. it’s times like this ur reminded how much of a kid he is. eugh but that’s work i want my victory and senseless destruction now. honestly if the doc is after success, he is certainly not getting it this way and I AM FEARING FOR EVERYONE’S LIVES. he’ll probably have to work with what’s left of the resistance like the back end of most games at some point.

I’m getting a little burnt out but i can’t forget my son and how much he hurts me.

first of all that third panel terrifies me. the fact it GOT that far does me great concern. the RED EYES? that’s pushing it fam i dont like that. the expressions are also just freaking destroying me; they’ve been PERFECT this issue. and the fact sonic is at his weakest when he feels like he’s failed everyone hurts me deeply. he has SO much on his shoulders and its getting too overwhelming for him.

also man... the whole thing with eggman... just stuff me man. but it hurts all the more because it’s so glaringly clear that there is?? some good in eggman??? he just. doesn’t want to admit it. and unfortunately these aren’t good circumstances to debate on that.

ANYWAY, THAT ISSUE WAS AGONY AND IM STILL REELING AND HAVENT EVEN. TALKED ALL THAT MUCH ABOUT SONIC HERE (on account of this being eggman’s blog) but idk if i’ll write anything on that.

Note that I’m watching this from the perspective of someone who is up to date on the manga, so spoiler warning on that. Now WITHOUT FURTHER DELAY LETS GET TO IT

“Return of the Hero”

“Sensei” I wouldn’t have had season 2 start any other way if I’m being honest.

Ok right off the bat, the animation difference is noticeable. Especially on Genos’s arms, But! I was expecting this and honestly I don’t mind it all that much. “I will call toy manufacturing companies” Genos stop you’re being too precious and my weak heart can’t take it.

Oh. My god. There he is! The King engine! Man it really is no wonder everyone is so quick to assume King is such a hero. The fluidity of the scene being animated really lends to the believability, despite how absurd it is on paper. Like if you told me that someone, completely by accident came to be seen as the strongest man in the world despite trying to avoid exactly that, I’d say it’s corny and unrealistic. One and Murata already worked magic to have it work as well as it has in the manga/webcomic, but hearing and visualizing the scene makes it even better. His voice over monologue here too really sells it. He just sounds so resigned oh my god

Paused just for 3 things-this face, the little chuckle while making this face, and “Doki doki Hottie Sisters 2.” King I love you.

Aaaaaand panic attack. Oof. Poor guy. Two monsters just on the way home. This is actually kinda getting to me too, like hearing the hyperventilating while he hides in the bathroom stall is WAY too personal King my guy I feel your pain it will be ok ouch

On a side note, not only am I completely used to the animation already, but I am REALLY digging the visuals through the whole King introduction so far.

Ok I take that back but only a little. You can tell with the fight scene they’re trying SO HARD to live up to the animation MadHouse put out for season 1, but it just feels slightly off. Though i’m 100% certain that (at least with this sequence specifically) if I didn’t have s1 to compare, I wouldn’t think twice about the animation. Also, you go bby kick robot ass strive for top 10! Gosh I missed Genos.

King wtf you have NO business being this adorable

Oh fuck that got me good. The cutesy music and king talking to himself/Saitama without noticing and then SILENCE I am cackling. This is the good stuff, this is why I watch the anime even though you can read the manga. The comedic effect is just that much better with scenes like this oh god. And King, for not wanting the reputation of being an S class hero, you sure whipped that gimmick out quick.

Ok, I keep pausing every few seconds wanting to write something about this whole King-Saitama exchange, but that would just be excessive, so I’m just going to say I have been consistently cackling the whole time the humor is not lost at all this is a blessing thank everyone who made s2 happen

“maybe you’re just bored fighting monsters” With all the jokes and action aside I forget sometimes that Saitama is still struggling with the burden of being too powerful. I honestly feel bad for him because here he thinks he might have found someone to relate to but poor King is the exact opposite. I mean he gets a great friend out of it, but I wonder if he had a glimmer of hope for a second there. Now I made myself sad, ah man. anyway

Ohhey Vaccine man. Fitting that the first villain of the first season makes a cameo in the first ep of the second.

I’m so torn between having all these feels for King being all emotional, and oogling over Genos being actual badass oh my god. Good fight scene good animation badass Genos i’m 0% mad

There it is. Just wow. I know so many people were waiting to see that moment and I hope everyone felt that as much as I did. So good. I had to watch it twice it’s so satisfying to finally see it I wish it were longer? Saitama is just such a good guy. Although, I was kind of expecting the episode to wrap up with this bit, but there’s still 10 minutes. My curiosity is piqued.

Oh right, Genos needs his post-battle repairs. I hope they tone down the weird metal shading just a tad. Its a bit distracting ngl

AH THERE SHE IS QUEEN BITCH SUPREME. Ok ok I actually feel dumb now for not realizing that every scene in the preview was from the first episode I should’ve seen Sonic and Fubuki popping up I’m a fool. And so the fubuki group ordeal begins. The back and forth of Fubuki and Sonic hyping up Saitama’s power with the intense music playing is getting me more and more hype. I’m getting excited despite the fact that I know how it all plays out for a while, which is a great sign

And I’m cackling  again. Saitama is a mood when I play video games I love them but I suck. God their dynamic is perfect please I need more please SAITAMA you better buy King a new controller don’t be that guy

Alright now that I’m breathing like a normal person again-

All in all, I thought it was great! Barely feels like we skipped a beat from season one even though its been three years. I GUESS I can understand why some fans may not like it, but at the same time I feel like anyone going into the episode with a negative mindset is bound to be disappointed. At the end of the day I can’t complain about the animation, the story and framing stayed true to the manga and the pacing felt right, so I’m really happy.

Sorry this was messy but now that I’ve actually done this once I think the next episode will be a bit cleaner on my end. And I cannot WAIT

AURORA. Very important question for you on this Tuesday night - what is your opinion on the HP scores and could you order them from fav to least fav?

what an excellent and essential question. i admit that it’s hard for me to approach this matter from an objective point of view as obviously my opinions of these scores are very intensely affected by nostalgia and my experience w the film itself, but i shall try my hardest to just evaluate the scores on their own merit. 

RANKING OF THE HARRY POTTER FILM SCORES, FROM WORST TO BEST:

7. deathly hallows part 1&2 by alexandre desplat

i remember when it was announced desplat was going to be doing the last 2 films and it was so exciting to have such a Hot Composer taking on the final two films… but i gotta say he severely disappointed me and i haven’t forgiven desplat since. these films–especially part 2–were the culmination of the entire franchise, and should’ve been fucking epic masterpieces that evoked the previous films’ score. instead, desplat largely ignored the iconic potter themes that williams and others created and went in his own direction which like… isn’t really the right move for the last 2 films of a franchise imo. 

and im just not super a fan of what he came up with?? like ‘lily’s theme’ is good, but im not sure it really fits potter?? and i just feel like a lot of the final battle stuff could’ve been so much more epic and emotional like. it doesn’t take a lot for a bitch to cry in a harry potter movie but desplat wasn’t helping me out u know. anyway i honestly like the score he did for fucking new moon better than for potter which …….is not great. 

6. order of the phoenix by nicholas hooper 

i am trying not to let my hatred of this movie cloud my judgement here but like even so i think this is one of the weaker scores. there are just so many annoying tracks lmaooo that like they blast at the wizarding world parks u know. like umbridge’s theme… i get its SUPPOSED to be annoying but still its not a fave. and like i think again the stuff in the ministry of magic during the fight scenes couldve been better. its just not a fave tbh but i do like a few themes like particularly the track ‘a journey to hogwarts’ is very sweet and sirius’s death moment was well done. but overall there are more tracks on this one i skip than play. 

5. chamber of secrets by john williams

this is where things get rly tricky bc i legit love the rest of these scores. but i have to put chamber here because i feel like a lot of its greatness piggybacks off the genius of the score of sorcerer’s stone... which isn’t a bad thing at all but. it doesn’t bring a ton of new stuff to the table. however i do love the ‘fawkes the phoenix’ theme!!! so!! much!!! and lockhart’s theme is very funny and cute. we do edge into a saccharine territory a bit when it comes to tracks like ‘reunion of friends’ but like i cry every time so who fucking cares. 

4. half-blood prince by nicholas hooper

i really really love this score as a stand alone score, and i almost put it higher on this list but i feel like this score totally abandons all the potter scores that have come before it and does its totally own new thing. this isn’t really the scores fault, as im sure like david yates told hooper to do this you know, but it deviates so far from the original themes instead of just adding onto them, so much so that if you just heard it without watching the movie you might not even associate it with the potter movies at all. again, this probably isn’t hooper’s fault but i think this was a big mistake for the sonic evolution of the movies. the potter movies failed to create a cohesive sound across all the films, and i think it is worse for it. can u imagine if the harry potter movies were like the lord of the rings movies, where they bring back themes from the first movie in the final one and the audience recognizes them subconsciously and the moment is all the more emotional because of it? tbh just a missed opportunity imo. 

but anyway just about this score on its own, it has some of the best standalone tracks in the entire movies tbh. the one that stands out the most to me is of course ‘dumbledore’s farewell.’ such a hauntingly beautiful song--i remember seeing this movie for the first time and this track pierced me to my core. i also love how this score uses harp like in ‘when ginny kissed harry,’ and how it uses choral arrangements?? like in ‘in noctem.’ honestly i adore this score so much but i have to rank it lower because i doesn’t feel like it serves its purpose in the potter movies as a whole well :( 

3. goblet of fire by patrick doyle

idk why patrick doyle only did the 1 movie because i really like this score. i know its super hard to follow up john fucking williams lmaooo but i feel like he did a pretty good job of drawing from the original williams themes but also incorporating some new stuff to fit the darker tone of the movie. there are some of my favorite potter tracks of all time on this score like ‘death of cedric’ which is so haunting and perfect and ‘harry in winter’ which is so beautiful and potter-esque. he also did a really good job with the action scenes in the graveyard which is v important to me. and the diegetic music in the yule ball stuff is so funny and lovely at the same time. 

2. sorcerer’s stone by john williams 

the fucking classic. the og. like, what is there to say?? talented brilliant incredible amazing showstopping never the same totally unique. like only john williams could create such an iconic theme. it’s hard for me to be objective here because i was young enough when the first movie came out that ‘hedwig’s theme’ /is/ harry potter to me, they are one in the same, you cannot separate them in my mind. but truly williams captured the magic of the harry potter world in music and enchanted everyone with this score. 

i also love the little medieval-y influences in this score that were dropped by chamber of secrets. like with the harp moments and in ‘diagon alley and the gringotts vault’ and ‘in ‘hogwarts forever!’ there’s just a very majestic and antique vibe that i really dig that didn’t really carry over to the other movies. 

i will say sometime williams gets very... williams-y in his very uhh loud?? and kinda frantic composing u can hear in like ‘the quidditch match’ which isn’t my favorite way to do action scenes, but like who the fuck cares u know the pros of this score far outweigh it. 

like. just. so manyyy iconic themes that have so much EMOTIONAL WEIGHT!!! like the moment u see hogwarts for the first time and the choral vocals... and the bells in ‘christmas at hogwarts.’ and who can keep a dry eye during ‘leaving hogwarts’??? NOT I!!!!!!!!!!! such a gentle theme of longing and home and yearning and family and bittersweet loss. it starts so small and intimate but then swELLS to this grand and sweeping tune. it’s stunning. 

1. prisoner of azkaban by john williams

this is PEAK!!! potter for me. again, hard to be objective because this is the best my favorite harry potter movie, but i also truly think this is the best score because it carries over the iconic themes of the first two movies but adds a quirky and dramatic flair that fits the tone of the movie cuaron was trying to make u know? i think u can really tell that cuaron had a lot of imput on the score and didn’t just let williams do whatever he wanted, because we get a really interesting, stylized sound that is really different from williams usual fare in such a great way. but, it still is a williams score and because of that it shines and also weaves in the past movies’ themes to give us an outstanding amalgamation of sound and melody. 

like we start with ‘lumos!’ which gets us right back into the potter universe but then we get a series of quirky new themes, like the waltz for aunt marge, the jazzy knight bus theme, and the medieval choral rendition of ‘double trouble’... iconic. and we get the dark and disturbing dementors theme (’apparition on the train’) which is very understated for a williams score and extremely effective. 

however ,,,, we do not abandon the themes from prior movies!!!!! a great illustration of how williams takes those old potter themes and adapts them for this movie can be seen in ‘secrets of the castle.’ this minimalist take on hedwigs theme is a completely different tone from the original, but still establishes that we are in the same sonic world as that film. you can also see this in ‘the portrait gallery’ where an old potter theme is played on some kind of woodwind (idk sorry) and a harpsichord, giving the odd, quirky, vintage feel of the movie but still keeping with the established potter musical world. 

i really love the ~medieval vibes~ that this score gives me and i wish this was something later scores went back to (instead of going in a jazz direction..looking at you hooper). theres a lot of traditional sounding instruments used that give it a real rustic, celtic feel rather than the grand classicism of a full orchestral sound that the first 2 movies use. a lot of harps, strings, and woodwinds!!!! 

some of my favorite tracks of all time are on this score. ‘window to the past’ is just... a triumph of emotion. its absolutely stunning in its simplicity in the beginning, and how it builds toward the end. the return of that theme in ‘finale’ when sirius is saying goodbye to harry...i truly sob every time. the isolated vocals in ‘the patronus light’ truly embody the purity of that awe and joy when the patronus is cast. and of course, of course, ‘buckbeak’s flight’ is an absolute magical joy ride captured in sound. williams refrains from using a full orchestra for most of the score, so when everyone plays together in moments like this you get the full grandeur of the scene just... bAM! it’s so fucking well done and just... perfect.

background:

noah was a bubbly kid, the kind who seemed to always have a smile on his face. the kind who would always befriend the new student on the playground. that kid.

he and his older brother grew up with a single mother struggling to make ends meet after their father bounced mere weeks after his birth. yet, despite their tight financial situation, they had a p good childhood. never went to bed hungry, never felt unloved.

not the most athletic and always a bit too clever for his own good, he was the perfect target for bullies. but he could TAKE it, really.

one day a particularly annoying kid was trying to get a rise out of noah on the bus. nothing out the ordinary. except, after he opened his mouth to voice a comeback, the bus swerved. suddenly everyone’s hands were on their ears. well, everyone except noah.

A SONIC ATTACK, they said. but noah knew the truth. he had done it. for the next several days, he kept his mouth shut in fear that it could happen again. although the chance to tell anyone, including his family, would never come.

several days later, he awoke in a van, a gag in mouth. a facility looking to weaponize people with abilities had kidnapped him as he slept, gaining word of him after the event on the bus.

the next few years of his life were hell. days spent in cells, nights spent being poked and prodded. they were trying to make the world better, the scientists said. bullshit. suddenly his voice was no longer his own, used as a weapon for the highest bidder.

apparently it wasn’t just his voice he could manipulate. a simple snap of the finger done right could cause a target ( or targets ) to pass out in pain instantly. but nothing was quite as effective as his voice. the right pitch could burst organs, inflicting permanent (and if requested, lethal) damage. after threatening the lives of his family, he was willing to do anything for his captors.

three years after being captured, the facility that held him was raided by the league. he was free. while the majority of his fellow captives immediately returned to their families, noah couldn’t…wouldn’t go back. the mere idea of his mom and brother seeing him, the shell of the noah they knew, made him sick.

the league offered to let him stay at their hq after realizing that the young super had nowhere to go. he couldn’t say yes fast enough.

a couple weeks have passed, and noah remains in the league’s headquarters. at the suggestion of his therapist, he has enrolled in a few classes at the local college. they give his life a sense of normalcy that wasn’t there before. when not in class, he spends time watching a lot of tv and occasionally exploring the city with his newfound freedom.

some plots that would be fun include (but not limited to):

heroes that were involved in saving him from the facility that held him captive. somebody who continues to check in on him sometimes? a hero that helped with the rescue but really hasn’t interacted with him since? possibilities! 

ppl he knows around the league hq! while he may spend a lot of time in his room, he still ventures out...occasionally 

so he was forced to do a lot of not so good things when in the facility’s grasps. it is very likely he interacted with a multitude of villains? whether or not the villains actually knew noah didn’t have a choice in what he was doing probably could vary. it would be really interesting to play out him running into one of them,

ppl noah knew from before he went missing. childhood friends, classmates, etc. really anyone he knew from age 17 and before !!

other college students? he’s been attending some classes at the local college,, maybe they have classes together? met on campus randomly?? group project? 

really i’m down for all the plots ! i’d love to hear any ideas you all have :D

personality:

noah is fairly quiet and reserved nowadays.for obvious reasons.

he is soooo kind tho!! like actually if you asked him for the sandwich he was in the middle of eating he’d probably apologize for it not being good enough before handing it over :(

low self esteem,, lots of guilt over the things he did while under the control of the facility and him not contacting his family upon gaining freedom

high key scared of hurting others and even more terrified of forming connections. buuut also really wants to form connections ??
