Hi Hello I just finished Part 5 of JJBA during a reasonable hour! (Spoilers and such below the cut)

First of all: My favorite part! The best part! 10/10 I loved Golden Wind so much! The characters, the Stands/Stand users, the villains- it was all so good!

GIORNO It’s not delivery My boy, by guy, my golden hero! I will probably say this with every Jojo, but he was absolutely amazing and I loved him. I knew I’d love him, but seeing him through this part? He’s been cemented as my favorite (At least until I watch Part 6 arjeaklrkjaejr) His stand? Amazing. His character? To die for. The frogs? Loved it!

Mama Bruno! (Sobs) I loved bruno so much- what an amazing Capo! He was such a great soul throughout the show, and when he ultimately passed on at the end- it hurt so much but he went peacefully. God when Giorno found out he was already dead- the pain in his voice hurt, and seeing Bruno go on- AH! Zipper Man/Sticky Fingers was great! :D 

Mr Stinky MISTA!!! Can we yell about Mista? I wanna yell about Mista- he’s an angel! I love him so much; he’s loud and funny and brilliant; the Sex Pistols and him were the cutest little crew! I love his bond with both Giorno and Trish- and just him being amazing!

Big titty goth bf Abbachio (Sobs) I love him- lowkey my husband, he’s freaking amazing! His voice? Godly. He’s such a grump, but my god was he so cool to watch! I really loved Moody Blues- his stand was my favorite of the batch; the recording noises- the design- all of it! Top tier!

Orange slices Narancia (Sobs hardest) That death killed me- he was absolutely amazing. Narancia was funny and sweet, he just wanted to keep the gang safe and protect Trish! He was gonna go back to school :( Why’d they gotta make him have all those dreams before death? It hurt so much when he died, and Giorno’s grief made it worse! (And Fugo pausing where he was when he realized he was gone? GAH!) On a lighter note; little Bomber was cool as heck, and the Gangster Torture Dance is absolutely hilarious!

Fugo He’s gotta hole lotta style He was enjoyable! I didn’t get as attached to him as I did the rest of the group, but I still loved him to death! His design is really cool and his and Narancia’s dynamic was pretty neat :D The GioFugo shippers are winning me over day by day with the content between them I loved Purple Haze; I have a soft spot for poison based abilities so that was pretty cool to see! :D I do wish he did tag along for the final battle; that probably would have solidified him as top tier- still amazing though!

Trish Spice girl! I didn’t know how I felt about her at first, but she completely won me over by the end of the series! She’s so bad ass, and her growth really impressed me as she went from a nervous teen to someone who stuck it out for the final battle! That scene on the plane? Still my favorite moment with her- when she discovered her Stand! I love her to death! :D

Can we yell about the Hitman team? And the fact they're all named after food? I thought that was absolutely hilarious! (I realize pretty much everyone besides Trish and Giorno was named after food but the Hitman team really carried the names) So I don’t always remember the names so here’s the nicknames I’ve deemed them all through the show:

Lightning round Time!: I did NOT want to like Doppio but....I kinda fell in love with Doppio. He’s honestly kinda cute with the who: “DODOODODDOODODO!” noises and using random items as his phone. And Diavio was pretty cool too- I was deeply satisfied with how he went out.

The rock statues made me cry- god I was NOT PREPARED!!!

The one couple: Squalo and Tiziano? Wish I could have seen more but great all around!

Cioccolata/Dr Sadist? Creepy as hell but his “Good boy”s with Secco were kinda funny- it reminded me of petting Sammy klarkjleakrjke (just not as aggressive or creepy)

And GioGio as the new Don! What a set up! :D Overall it was a fantastic series and I loved every part of it! I’m not gonna rush to Part 6 yet (I’m gonna wait until the whole things out) but overall an amazing time!

One Punch Man ship reviews bc I’m bored

WARNING: BIG ONE PUNCH MAN WEBCOMIC AND MANGA SPOILERS

GenoSai: do I even have to say it?? They compliment each other so well and are already besties. They make me so happy and I love their love. Genos literally came into Saitama’s life and brought so much new life and excitement when Saitama thought he’d never get any. Genos gives him love and appreciation all the time and never abandons him. Saitama isn’t connected to his feelings, but he cares about Genos and would do just about anything for him, to keep him safe. Genos constantly teases Saitama and Saitama grumbles and takes it with some banter, Genos is super emotional and Saitama does his best to comfort him, they fucking love shopping together and just hanging out period, they talk about the dumbest shit and somehow they still understand each other with the one brain cell they both share. It takes Genos forever to realize his feelings are deeper and Saitama has to be TOLD by their friends that he should fucking realize his feelings already. Just...I could keep going but I’ll stop! 2718873737839439/10 (let’s not talk about the age gap btw, 6 years isn’t bad and Genos is a legal adult.)

FubuSai: the stereotypical straight ship ppl gravitate to. Eh. I can see it, but at the same time I feel like they don’t completely compliment each other. Are they a hot couple? Duh. But I feel like their pride and communication issues would get in the way. 4/10

TatsuSai: hnghhhh. Someone mentioned this before, can’t remember who, but Saitama literally thinks she’s a child in canon. So that just....makes it gross. Same problems as FubuSai but worse. I’d rather see them as hesitant friends w a weird bond. 0/10

SonSai/SonicSai/idk the ship name: eh, toxic. Cant see them getting past communication issues and pride, again. Plus Sonic wants to kill his ass. Also, I just feel no romantic tension?? Even in fanfic it just falls flat for me. 3/10

MumenSai: a favorite!! Wish I saw it more, it’s very cute. Mumen is so kind and would absolutely be there to help him w self esteem and just help him be a better person period. And Saitama would have a cute little kind guy to tease and open up to. I could maybe see Mumen’s kindness getting on Saitama’s nerves when he’s in a bad mood bc Mumen almost never snaps and Saitama feels shittier, or maybe Mumen being mad at Saitama for being kinda lazy at home while Mumen is working his ass off and he’s like babe I just got home, please stop playing the fucking game and pay attention to me I have a concussion again. Prob too nitpicky on this one, heh, but 8.4/10

Genos x Sonic: wtf? As a crack ship, sure. That’s hilarious. But as a serious ship, 1.3/10 bc I could MAYBE see them bond over their love of my chemical romance or sum.

TatsuKing: eh. Indifferent on this one too. I can see them getting along and Tatsu being the mean but supportive gf in public, but a sweet gf in private. King could be like her calm oasis of video games and sweet blonde shy bf. I sway more towards ace/aro King and queer non binary Tatsu, but this is still good. 6/10

FubuPsy/Fubuki x Psykos/idk: hell yeah!! This series NEEDS more wlw ships, both for me to project onto and to cry over. Prob my fav Fubuki ship, cuz they’ve known each other since they were young and had a tenuous friendship. I didn’t use to ship it until I saw that scene in the wc after the MA arc (u know the one) but here we are. They’re big personalities so any interaction is bound to be chaotic at first, but I really think they’d work. Pride put to the side, Psykos could be someone for Fubuki to finally rely on other than the Blizzard Bunch, someone to confide in, a badass partner to fight monsters with, talk about nothing for hours with, be a super fashionable #girlboss couple with, and someone who would really see her for who she is-especially w Psykos knowledge of her from the past. Hell, Psykos might even know her better than Tatsumaki. Fubuki could be an anchor to her like she currently is in the wc, providing a quiet comfort and making her open up little by little. Would prob be toxic at first bc of the MA arc and their desire for power, but is a very good ship I think. 9/10

Speedal/Sonic x Mumen: an old fav! Sonic would have a hard time not hating Mumen at first bc he’s the picture definition of a hero, sum he hates. But hanging out with him would show him Mumen is a GOOD guy genuinely and he’d be like ohhhh shit I’m in love w this man. Mumen would thoroughly appreciate someone to make him live a little, break some rules and stand up to ppl when they talk over him. He’d DEFINITELY be upset when finding out Sonic is an assassin, but would prob be conflicted bc he knows Sonic is a good person despite that. Would prob make Sonic give up on killing for them to be together. Sucks bc of the assassin thing and bc they haven’t met in canon! So we’re not sure how they’d interact with each other, sigh. 7.4/10

Okamaitachi x Bushidrill: a very underrated ship! To be clear, I headcanon Kama as a trans woman and so does most of the fandom. Anyway, very sweet and already built as a friendship bc of their partnership under Atomic Samurai. I can’t remember who writes fic and makes art of them on tumblr but AAAAA it’s so good! Very sweet. Basically depicted Bushi as a nervous himbo who’s honest about his feelings but scared to say them and Kama as a sweet lady who’s crazy about Bushi. Very sweet. Want more of them!! 6.1/10

OneZon/Zombieman x One Shotter: never even thought of the ship till I saw @megidolan art work! Very wholesome, and from what little we know of Shotter we know he’s a sort of nervous yet strong willed guy, and Zombieman would totally help him calm down bc he’s so chill. I could see them sharing cigarettes and talking shit on heroes while cuddling u know? 7/10 only because I don’t see enough of it but very good concept.

Mumarou/Mumen x Garou: a lot of ppl are gonna hate me for this but....I don’t like it. I’ve tried! I just—idk. I’ve read so many good fics about them that make me like it a bit, but the concept is just eh. I think their relationship is, in most reps, really cliche angsty stuff. I wish I could elaborate I just...gah! Basically, there’s better ships for the both of them imo. Sorry!! 4.3/10

Sonic x Flashy/SonFlash: yes!! Prob my fav Sonic ship. They have soooo much tension, it’s almost worse than Genos’ tension w Saitama. Flashy LITERALLY poisoned Sonic so that he wouldn’t be forced to kill him at the ninja graduation. He cares. They’ll never say it out loud, but they care. They have someone who understands what they went through in each other and someone they’re both so similar to, yet so different from. Sonic is more vocal about his expressions and let’s people know it while Flashy often keeps things to himself, they could really influence the other to be more this or that. I could see a lot of comfort with these two, and not much is needed for relationship development; they already have so much unspoken between them after meeting for the first time in years. Love it. Wish I saw it more! 10/11

KingSai: wonderful! Out of the few ppl Saitama is close to, def my second fav pick for a ship for him. There’s a post saying how Saitama doesn’t cut King off when he’s going on rants about games and stuff bc he’s talking TO Saitama, not at him like Genos tends to do on accident. They’re already great buddies! Saitama could find a shy gamer man who he can talk to about manga and stuff and also a passionate bf who could break out of his shell w Saitama and be himself with no lies. King can have someone to protect him, duh, someone who finally understands his weird sense of humor, and someone to shower him in the love and kindness he deserves when Saitama is in the mood to be all out like that w his affections. Plus he’s Saitama’s anchor and brings him back down when he’s super anxious and depressed and tells him what’s up that he needs to fix without sugarcoating it. Would def have a bunch of inside jokes and go on dates that are just staying inside playing video games all night. Domestic af. 10/10

Fubuki x Mizuki: my first wlw Fubuki ship! Hard to find but very good. Mizuki is this big ball of kindness, energy, and raw power that would make Fubuki go ‘Ohhhhhhh, big pretty lady make brain go brrr.’ I could see Mizuki grounding Fubuki when she’s in over her head, giving her random gifts bc she saw sum and thought of her, doing a marathon run and wildly waving at Fubuki in the crowd, and all around being a dependable woman confident in herself and in love with a mysterious esper. Prob a little shy when it comes to anything physical bc she loves Fubuki so much and is overwhelmed by the realness of being w her. Fubuki gives Mizuki advice on ‘acting like a proper hero’ or whatever and though Mizuki thinks she doesn’t need it, Fubuki still helps her a lot w her career and being taken more seriously by others. Would give Mizuki someone who loves her for who she is and would go wild on her in private when she can be open about her affection, would be someone Mizuki could exercise with and listen intently to Mizuki’s physical knowledge, and would absolutely bandage her when she’s all banged up. Hnghh love this ship. It’s only behind the FubuPsy ship juuuuust a little bc they haven’t met in canon so we can’t be sure about their interactions and stuff. 8.8/10, I love WOMEN

Batarou: how could I go this far without mentioning them?! They have SOOOO much tension in the centichoro fight, like come on. Both snarky assholes who are huge softies one the inside, Badd being the more logical one (still a himbo, tho) and Garou being the more chaotic one. Probably take forever to admit their feelings bc they’re so prideful and stupid <3 flirt through constant wrestling matches and it takes Genos saying ‘they should kiss already, they’re getting on his nerves’ for them to finally realize what’s up. (@rayadraws has a great au where Garou Genos and Badd are a chaotic friend squad and Genos is the only brain of the group, haha. Very good au y’all check it out!) Would constantly pick on each other affectionately and switch into concerned SO when the other is hurt like the big teddy bears they are. Raise Zenko together for sure. Garou would fumble being romantic and Badd would find it both hilarious and cute. 11/12

Zombie mask/Amai x Zombieman:

So. I don’t like Amai Mask and I used to hate him, BUT the webcomic and fic have really helped me calm down on him (he’s still a dick tho), so it’s easier to want to ship him and stuff. Bc of Amai’s anger issues and controlling behavior, I could see this relationship being super toxic and icky—but I think they have some form of understanding that pulls Amai back from being a complete dick, you know? Start off as fuck buddies and slowly form something else from spending companionable time together other than screwing. Zombieman pulls Amai back from his angry fits and soothes him over with his logic. Talk maaaaaad shit about heroes, but only when they’re alone because Zombieman knows Amai will talk loud af about the heroes they’re roasting and Zombie doesn’t wanna stop a fight from happening. Zombieman loves making Amai flustered and has a secret check list in his head of all the things that get Amai red faced. Loves to listen to Amai rant about things for hours and loves to watch his face go through almost cartoon like expressions as he talks. He won’t admit it, but Zombie loves to be spoiled by Amai’s shit tons of cash and often takes rides in Amai’s limos when he wants to smoke and think to himself. Amai has a hard time realizing how his feelings have changed, but gets hit hard with it when he wakes up to Zombie making them breakfast one morning while wearing Amai’s underwear. Amai also loves to spoil Zombie and takes him out to restaurants and buys him cool new weapons on the weekends. @batneko has pretty much gotten me into this ship and I strongly suggest looking at their works! 7.9/10

DemonKnight/Genos x Zero/Drive Knight: I’m pretty sure this used to be a crack ship before the past like 10 manga chapters—and now here we are! Not a fav bc 1. ZERO LEFT GENOS TO SELF DESTRUCT AFTER THEY COMBINED TO FORM THE FUCKING JET HE WAS JUST LIKE lol bye SO LIKE if he left him to die that’s super hard for me to forgive and ship grrr 2. Disregarding the manga’s canon and looking at the wc, while I love the little trip they went on where Zero demonstrated his abilities and helped Genos kill monsters, it’s super sus. He knew alllll of this info on Metal Knight and was super supportive and understanding when Genos said he needed time to think. Like,,,what are his intentions? We know so little about him—is he trying to trick Genos or was he being sincere? THAT STUFF ASIDE, they’re a really fun ship. They’re both huge fucking nerds and can keep up with their talk on robotics for hours, they’re both cyborgs so they understand each other’s pain, and they’re both super cool and angsty. I think they could really settle into a deep bond that can go platonic or romantic, just depends. Genos needs more ppl in his life so hell yeah! Plus, he can really let go with Zero bc they don’t have that teacher/student relationship and Zero, if he’s really a sincere and kind guy like in the wc, can be there for Genos and listen to him. Don’t have much to say on this ship other than @wellthisisembarrassing makes GORGEOUS art of them! 6.3/10

Webuiko/Suiko x Webigaza: YEAH I KNOW THEY HAVENT INTERACTED IN CANON AND WE DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT THEM BUT HEAR ME OUT. Webigaza—cool af determined cyborg idol who’s surprisingly down to earth when talking with Child Emperor. Suiko—sassy and honest fighter who doesn’t take shit and is very passionate. Suiko would go to talk to Web then immediately freak out bc aaaa she’s way prettier than she thought, she can’t do this! Web would have to gently encourage Suiko to talk and at first is like ‘ah man, must be an adoring fan, ugh I’m so tired. At least she’s hot’ but when Suiko snaps out of her shyness Web is like oh! She’s super cool wtf. Always bump into each other during fights and help each other get fixed up, Suiko using her muscle power to lift Web’s pieces (and give Web a great view of Suiko’s muscles holy SHIT) and Web would patch Suiko up. Not to be stereotypical, but they’re def a masc/femme couple. I love the idea of this ship soooo much and I really hope they interact! 6.6/10 only bc they haven’t met ��😭😭 look them up on here! There’s some great art of them by a few blogs

Dr. Kuseno x Bang: pretty sure @baldyborg came up with this one! Super cute. Just two old dudes finding a nice friendship in each other, maybe after Bang helps carry Genos to Kuseno’s after a day of fighting. Bang would find Kuseno to be a very cute little nerd man and would be sooo impressed by Kuseno’s mad scientist skills. Kuseno would be super impressed when seeing Bang in action too. They’d prob talk as soon as they meet each other and Genos would be in the background like you guys it’s been an hour, please fix me I’m on the verge of death 🧍🏻Bang would give Kuseno advice on training techniques to teach Genos and advice on making his bodies more martial arts ready or sum, meanwhile Kuseno would give his take on how to be kinder to Garou so that Bang would learn to repair the relationship with a gentleness he’s seemingly lacking (yes I’m talking about the chapter where he and Garou start fighting and Bang is just not doing enough to reach out to Garou, he’s being a callous old man! So yeah I’m still mad about that). Genos and Saitama would prob be out on a date and Saitama would be like oh theres Bang, wonder what he’s doing? Then Kuseno would walk up and kiss Bang and Genos and Sai would be shocked like SIRS 👬 Genos would tell Bang he doesn’t need another adoptive dad and Bang would be like....ok.... I see them retiring in a cottage together and Bang would become a huge softie. Yes I’m actively ignoring chapter 141 of the wc, shut up. 7.6/10

TankTop master x Mumen: they have a nice friendship going on in the manga right now! Just bros supporting bros. Tank is the picture definition of a muscly himbo and Mumen is his cute passionate bf. Also workout buddies af!! Don’t have much to say other than pretty good ship, just not a fav. 5.2/10

Oh boy oh boy ok.

Aight, so for starters my boy Ryan's real full name is Ryan Taylors II (he was named after his uncle Ryan who died before he was born) and he's one of my Death Note OCs I made for a fic I'm writting. He's a serial killer and I heavily based his case of Jack the Ripper. He kills prostitutes, not because he has anything against them but because he knows the cops don't really care. He does this because he think violently mutilating people is fun. There's something very wrong with him. I tried to emulate every serial killer ever while still making him unique.

He had a shitty childhood. His mom got disowned by her mom for running drugs for the mob and she had to live her shitty boyfriend. He raped her and that's how Ryan came to be. Happened again and that's how he got his little sister. His dad was an abusive dick head and when Ryan was 9 he had enough so he just fucking killed the guy. When he want to court he got of with no punishment because it so insanely obvious that his dad was an abusive rapist qnd Ryan was a little kid so the jurry decided he was innocent. From age 9 to 15 he enjoyed not having a father until his mom got a new bf and he was an ass. Then when Ryan was 16 he officially could not handle it and snapped and killed someone. He enjoyed it like alot and after some moral debating with himself he kept on killing people.

Anyway to backtrack when he was 7 he met a guy named Jessie who's dad owned a bar and they became friends. Jessie had a kid his age (actually it was just a random orphan he found and adopted but still) and that kid was named Jerimiah. Ryan also had a friend named Courtney from school and Ryan, Courtney and Jerimiah all end up going to the same school after awhile and Ryan and Jerimiah date. Ryan also runs track and he's like really fucking good at it. He set records. Ryan also joined a gang when he was 7 because his neighbor was this sweet old Chinese lady who would babysit him and teach him Chinese (Ryan's part Chinese, it's never relevant except for the fact that he joined a gang when he was 7, which is mostly a joke thing) and her grandson was the leader of a biker gang and when they would come over Ryan would hang out with them and at some point they were like "hey your cool wanna join our gang?" And Ryan said yeah so he was in a biker gang when he was 7. They didn't actually do anything they just rode around and looked scary and Ryan doesn't know how to ride a motorcycle nor is he allowed but he's still a member and has his own bandanna all the gang members have. The gang thing is never important it's just a little joke to make Ryan seem tough.

Speaking of which Ryan is constantly trying to look tough. Ryan grew up in Compton in the 90's so he's constantly surrounded by crime so he tried to be as intimidating as possible and he is actually very intimidating. He's 5'11 and 180lbs, super aggressive with the knife skills to back it up and dresses in all black. He's already scary and 100% a true gangster qnd he doesn't need to pretend but he still has issues with intimacy and being nice. He's cold and apathetic all the time. He wishes he wasn't but he has a hard time finding things to be passionate about. The few things that do bring him joy include bread, horror and action movies, Sonic the Hedgehog, Transformers and exploring abandoned buildings. He's very shy about showing when he's actually happy (which is a shame because he has the cutest, sweetest nost amazing and gorgeous smile in the entire fukcing world.) The reason for his apathy is because he's got ASPD from all the abuse. Everyone says he puts the antisocial in antisocial personally disorder and they're right. His symptoms mostly include apathy, violent outbursts, recklessness and self degradation. Pretty much he's quiet and reserved and doesn't like people. He jas very little self confidence and doesn't care much for others unless he really knows them well and actually likes them. If he does consider someone a friend he's very protective and somewhat nice. It takes alot to deal with him but he's really a great friend.

Really he's an amazing guy who went through alot of traumatic shit and had been unfortunately fucked up by his shitty circumstances and has choosen to deal with it in the worst possible way: muder. Ryan absolutely loves to blame his problems on other people and for the most part he's right (it's not his fault he had to go through all that) however him choosing to kill people was 100% his thing and he can't really blame it on his childhood considering there's 100 different ways to deal with that stuff that don't involve killing people HOWEVER Ryan ignores that because he's a fucking seril killer and has no remorse for his victims. He is the epitome of "I love my garbage son who belongs in prison" because he does but he never gets caught.

There's two different ways Ryan's life goes and it depends on the fic I put him in. In the everyone lives one, he marries A and B and joins the mafia with them. He does repent for his crimes but has to live on a short leash (he can't have cash, he has to travel with A or someone qualified to babysit him, he has to keep his ID on him at all time ect.) Because the government doesn't want him to kill people anymore but wants to see if they can actually rehabilitate a fucking serial killer + A knows people *cough cough L* and will be very pissy if they put his boyfriend in prison. Ryan gets therapy and reconnects with his family and also he's set to die at like 87 here.This is the good ending.

In actual cannon, Ryan and B are friends with alot of homoerotic tension. Ryan and B are partners in crime for awhile but after B dies Ryan continues on with his life (Ryan is a massive crime buff and wants to be a forensic pathogist and that happens in both endings) but after awhile he decides life isn't worth living without B and goes on a full rampage through LA before writting an increasingly cryptic suicide note and slitting his own throat. He choose that method because in all his killings, he cut the vocal cords of his victims so they couldn't scream while he mutilated them (witch gave him the nick name the Silent Ripper, though he's more commonly the Los Angeles Ripper) but he'd usually end up slitting their throats in the process, so the most commom death for his victims drowning in their own blood, so he felt its how he should go out. This is clearly the bad ending.

love how nightbeat is pretty much agreeing with the decepticon ideology here, even if its clear that he isn't Actually a decepticon - it just drives home the fact that, in this story, The Decepticons Were Right About A Lot Of That Stuff (or at least, they had a reason other than ‘destruction’ for rebelling).

pre-war prowl is such an interesting character. actually prowl in general is such an interesting character...I kinda wrote him off during my first read of mtmte (and even a little during my second readthru) as just this dude who’s an asshole (espec bc my prev tf experience involved watching tfa as a kid, and this prowl is very different from tfa prowl lol)...but prowl is SUCH a multi-faceted and interesting character, even in the relatively little we see of him in mtmte 

plus it was interesting to learn later that prowl was one of the characters that jro wanted for mtmte and didn't get, and MAN i wish he got prowl bc I would've loved to see what jro would've done w/prowl on the lost light, that would've been amazing. like, just imagine the arc he would have...I have no idea what that arc would BE, but I know it would be awesome. plus I’d be really interested to see how prowl would factor in, relationships-wise, amongst the crew of the lost light. so much potential!

pre-war ratchet and drift ;_; ratchet’s little inspirational speech...the fact that he tells drift that he’s special...the fact that drift remembered all of this even after 4 million+ yrs...it gets me bro it GETS me

ALSO the layers in the fact that drift then goes on to become a well-known murderous decepticon...so this little scene of him and ratchet in the past gives a lot of context to ratchet’s general attitude towards drift - ratchet clearly feels at least somewhat responsible for all the blood on drift’s hands, since he saved drift’s life way back in the day

the whole relinquishment clinic thing is such cool worldbuilding, bc of course that's the kind of thing that would develop in a society of robot aliens who are only allowed to work within the rigid confines of their alt mode 

I love the whole matrix thing bc its kinda like being the pope or st but also you have a ton of political sway, so its a super important position, so of Course the corrupt senate would want full control over that power, and would assassinate the current prime to try to get their own guy in

Rogues Lore

First of all I want to thank @schweeeppess for letting me spam her with Rogues lore 2 months ago cuz it made this post so much easier to type out when I can just copy-paste everything and then edit it to be more cohesive lmao

Second this is under a read more because it is A Lot

Leonard Snart AKA Captain Cold

He grew up with a super abusive father and his only refuge was when he would hang out with his grandfather in his grandfather's ice truck. When the grandfather died, he grew tired of his dad's abuse and set out to start a criminal career and moved to central. 

(He's the one who started the rogues!) 

He found blueprints for a "cold gun" which he ended up making from scratch (it’s also canon that he knows the gun so well he can remake it out of scraps in about 30 seconds to a minute) and had three main rules in his group: No Killing, No Harm To Women Or Children and No Drug Use. His cold gun is capable of interfering with the speedforce cuz it can reach “absolute zero” which is even colder then Mr Freeze's tech. 

He's also the only cold-based villain capable of mastering this temp. In New Earth he was described as an "adversary" but in Prime Earth (same backstory as before mind you) he's described as being a straight villain whose only rule in the group is "no killing" (which seems to be a pretty flexible rule these days cuz DC has made him more, well, down with killing). He's also much younger here then he was in NE. 

In Flash 2016 #17 we see another upgraded version of his gun that's capable of separating the Flash from the speedforce directly and, in doing so, causing Barry excrutiating pain. Generally, he and Barry had more respect for eachother in NE, to the point that Len even considered him family. In PE, though they have teamed up now and again, Len is far more hostile towards Barry, sometimes even being written in a way that suggests he wouldn’t mind if Barry died.

Sam scudder AKA Mirror Master (the first one!) 

He was a simple convict who just really wanted to learn how to get inside a mirror's reflection. He practiced in a hall of mirrors and, once he succeeded, became Mirror Master. He was a frequent foe for Barry and, during Crisis on Infinite Earths, died around the same time Barry did.

 He was the one who discovered the "mirror world". At one point he got himself trapped there and hated that the mirror world could just get him whatever he wanted instead of him stealing it so he got Barry to bust him out. He could also use mirror's to mind control ppl (dont ask) and this intrigued Barry. 

 On PE he's dating Lisa Snart (Len's younger sister) and is the only Mirror Master to exist. In N52 he, Len, Lisa, Mick and Marco all got fused with their weapons for a while and given meta-human abilities which I. hate because it took away what made them all so cool (I'm fine with Marco tho and you'll find out why in a minute) he's also a really big attention seeker lol

Hartley Rathaway AKA Pied Piper

Alright most of Hartley's info is from NE so: he was born deaf to wealthy parents who got him very high-tech hearing implants. He became obssessed with sounds and started experimenting with sonic technology. Bored of his rich life (and sometimes it's implied he had ableist and/or homophobic parents too) he took to a life of crime after learning how to hypnotize people through music (Pied Piper ayyy). 

He was the first person to ever successfully break out of Iron Heights and did so because he befriended the rats there and used them to help himself escape, adding more to his whole Pied Piper thing. After Barry died he gave up crime and started working to help the poor and underprivelaged (I'm not saying he quit specifically bc of Barry's death buuuuuut most of the Rogues did so). 

He struck up a close friendship with Wally and came out as openly gay! On PE all that we know for certain is that he's a "reformed vigilante" who's the conductor for the Central City orchestra. He used to share an apartment with Barry (yes for real) before he moved in with his bf, David Singh (also Barry's director in the CCPD). Lisa was the one who convinced him to come out to the Rogues, and they were all chill with being gay, their problem came when he started dating David who is, you know, a cop.

He has a pet rat called Moon (cute, right?). Also in pre-N52 canon (cant remember if it was NE specifically or older) Hartley once had a nervous breakdown after Barry arrested him so Barry took him to get help at a mental health hospital :')

(Some artists draw him blonde, some brunette and others go more for reddish-brown it’s kinda confusing)

Marco/Mark Mardon AKA Weather Wizard

On NE he's a two bit criminal called Mark Mardon (he's also white and yes thats important to note) but one day, after escaping from a cop van, he ran to find his brother, Clyde, who was a scientist only to discover his bro had died of a heart attack (however, there's implications that he actually murdered his brother and simply blocked out the memory). 

He then found Clyde's notes on how to create a wand to control the weather and made it for himself. The worst he ever did on NE was imprison a town in winter and after Barry's death he went into semi-retirement (told you the Rogues all did this)

On PE however! He and Clyde are Latino and are the heirs to a huge cartel! Clyde takes over the cartel and Marco wants nothing to do with that life. After their father dies, Marco runs away and eventually becomes Weather Wizard. 

He comes back when he hears his brother has been murdered and gets accused of the crime. He finds out it was Clyde's wife, Elsa, who orchestrated the whole thing and, in a fit of grief and anger, kills her with lightning. He also tries to kill himself at the same time but it doesn’t work. After her death, he curls up into a ball and starts crying because he feels like he hasnt got any family left but then Lisa shows up and is like "yo the rogues are still here for you bitch"

His emotions affect the weather in this continuity and I’m a weak bitch for that but that’s 100% my bias for Ororo Munroe showing itself lol

James Jesse AKA Trickster (the first one!)

James Jesse was born to the Flying Jesses, famous circus performers. He, however, was afraid of heights, and preferred reading stories of Western criminal Jesse James. 

He invented air-walking shoes to get rid of his acrophobia, and this led to his fame as an aerialist at the circus. Buuut he wanted more excitement in life and became a conman instead! He had a lot of wacky gadgets like exploding teddy bears and, after Barry's death, moved from Central to Hollywood and started working in special effects. 

Like Hartley, he even attended Barry's funeral. He once beat the devil, Neron, at his own game and eventually started using his skills for good, collecting weapons of incarcerated villains so they couldnt fall into the wrong hands. He eventually died protecting Hartley during Final Crisis. Deadshot was the one who got him. 

On Prime Earth his parents were straight up neglectful and, instead of creating his own boots, he stole them from STAR labs instead. This version of him is also WAY more fucked up and murdery then NE to the point us long-term Rogues fans got really upset at how much DC had changed him 

On NE his real name is “Giovanni Giuseppe” (swear this is, like, the only italian name DC knows) and on PE the Flying Jesse's were a deliberate rip off of the Flying Graysons

George “Digger” Harkness AKA Captain Boomerang

The illegitimate son of an American toy-maker, W.W. Wiggins, and an Australian woman, Betty Harkness, George Harkness was raised in poverty in the small town of Kurrumburra, Australia. His stepfather, Ian Harkness, hated the boy and made his life miserable. (Like canonically Ian was an abusive alcoholic and even abused Betty who was too ill to defend herself or George. The reason George goes by "Digger" is cuz that's what his mom used to call him before she died; it's aussie slang for "soldier") 

In school, Harkness crafted a boomerang. He discovered he had great skill with the aboriginal weapon and often used it for mischief with his best friend, Mick Wentworth. He further honed his skills while spending some time hiding from the law in the Australian bush. 

When Digger was eighteen, he and Wentworth robbed a general store and were able to make their escape with the aid of Digger’s boomerang. However, this incident caused Digger’s stepfather to kick him out of the house. 

His mother gave him a plane ticket to Central City and told him to get in touch with Wiggins. Wiggins had been searching for a spokesman for W.W. Wiggins Game Company's latest product, a toy boomerang. Under the alias "George Green", Digger auditioned for and got the job. Wiggins outfitted him with a costume and gave him the name "Captain Boomerang."

Ridiculed by the audience, he took to a life of crime instead.

His story is pretty much the same on PE. The only diff being there was no childhood friend and Digger made boomerangs in an attempt to impress his absentee father. Also he has a habit of making up fake stories about himself lmao 

The only one's he really doesnt stab in the back are the Rogues and Harley Quinn but everyone else? fair game. In Flash: Rebirth he and Barry even exchange favours for info and it’s implied this is a regular thing for them

Roscoe Dillon AKA The Top

He technically appears on PE but he's one of Thawne's acolytes so lets just. Skip that and focus on NE instead

Literally his whole thing is that he was obssessed with spinning tops as a kid and taught himself how to spin fast enough to deflect bullets. He became a criminal, tried to blackmail the entire world once, and was Lisa's first boyfriend! 

He was also her ice-skating coach and taught her how to spin super well like himself! He has a very confusing characterization tho cuz sometimes he was written to be all about revenge and killing but other times he was just like the other rogues; a blue-collar criminal who stole things because he liked to. 

He died eventually which I'm not going to try to explain cuz it's...yeah. There's also this whole thing where he could possess people after his death but this was in the silver age and that shit just happened sometimes so whatever 

In short: Roscoe has a really cool concept to him but nobody really knew how to write him so he ended up all over the place

He also has a Spinning Top shaped satellite in space where he stores all his loot (dont ask)

Mick Rory AKA Heatwave

Mick Rory has pyromania! Very severely! He was born on a farm outside of Central and, as a child, was very fascinated with fire. This turned into an obssession and he ended up burning his house down. So fascinated by the flames, however, he never ran to get help, watching his whole house burn down (and killing his parents inside) and he ended up living with his uncle after this. 

On a schooltrip, his schoolmate stuck him in a meat locker as a prank where he gained Cryophobia (fear of the cold) so in retaliation Mick locked the boy in his house and set the thing on fire (again, pyromania). He ran away again and ended up becoming a fire-eater for a circus. That didn't last long either because, surprise!, he burned the place down. 

Desperate to find a way to help his obssession, he happened to see the Rogues operating in Central and decided to take up villainy. At first he and Len got into a few altercations with eachother due to Mick's fear of the cold but eventually they settled their differences and Len officially brought him into the Rogues. 

Mick kinda relies on them to keep his pyromania in check basically. There was a time where he was, briefly, reformed and gained a close friendship with Barry (even being roommates with him. By then he'd already known Barry's real identity for a few years) and used his pyro knowledge to become a fire-fighter consultant. At one point he even worked for the FBI

His backstory is practically the same on PE the only difference being that he never expressed regret for burning down his house, and actually says he wishes he’d burned down the whole neighbourhood instead

Lisa Snart AKA Golden Glider

When I say her NE version is leagues above PE I mean it. 

Like Len, she suffered abuse under their father and escaped it by becoming a figure skater under the name Lisa Star for the Futura Ice Show! Her fame came from her very fast spins, a trick she was taught by Roscoe. When Roscoe died while fighting Barry (brain complications though there’s more to it, but again I’m not going to get into that) Lisa turned to villainy, blaming Barry for her lover's death. 

Her attempts on Barry and Iris' lives were always foiled. She used a pair of ice skates that created their own ice flow, and had many gadgets that caused hypnotism. She also stole Len's gun once but retooled it into a twirling Baton. 

When Barry died she renounced her feud with him and attempted to go straight again with her brother. They created a company that recovered lost or stolen items. Eventually she returned back to a life of crime, went through three boyfriends, all using the name Chillblaine (she named them that iirc), until the fourth Blaine killed her. Len got revenge on that one 

On PE, however, Lisa had a brain tumor (it got cured later) and was a tag-a-long villain for her brother and her boyfriend, Sam Scudder. This version of her never became a skater and is instead murderous just for...the sake of it. She also has this thing about wanting to be the leader of the Rogues instead of Len, and when she's in charge of them for a while the Rogues’ morals change and killing is suddenly fine so. Whatever. NE Lisa is the best (also her whole outfit? Stunning)

Roy G. Bivolo AKA Rainbow Raider (not technically a Rogue anymore but he was a member for a while)

He appeard on PE as Chroma but gets murdered by Grodd so we only have NE canon to use (they did my mans dirty) 

He was a wonderful painter from an early age but was born colourblind. His father, an optometrist, was determined to create a device that would let him see in full colour. Toy didnt get the device until after his father's death but unfortunately the device didnt let him see colour. 

Instead, the goggles could project beams of light that could become solid objects, make him invisible, blind his opponents, or affect the emotions of his targets. Angry that he couldnt pursue an artistic career. he decided to become a thief and primarily stole famous artwork. He was eventually killed by Amunet Black

Evan McCulloch AKA Mirror Master (second one)

Evan was born to rich parents Louis and Carol Erikson who gave him up for adoption because they were too young to be responsible parents. He ended up at the McCulloch orphanage. 

At age 8 he was molested by one of the older boys there and, in self-defence, ended up drowning the him. At 16 he left the orphanage, taking on the name of the woman who raised him and moves to Glasgow (he’s scottish btw) 

He found that it was super difficult to hold down a job but, needing to make ends meet and constantly breaking the law anyway, he turned to a life of crime and became a hitman and then a professional assassin.

One day he got hired to kill his birth father but was unaware of who his target was until after he took the shot. Grief-stricken, he attended the funeral and tried to work up the nerve to approach his birth mother. By the time he had, she'd committed suicide and he turned himself in for his crimes. 

Either the Scottish or US government gave him Sam's old Mirror Master gear and hired him to be a mercenary. 

His first job was scaring Animal Man into stopping his activism, but he failed because of Animal Man’s wife. Refusing to actually kill the wife and children (thanks to his own morals) he gets fired and helps Animal Man seek revenge.

He continues to work as a criminal and supervillain-for-hire, even working out of costume as a mercernary in Britain.

Eventually he found his way to Central City and joined the Rogues, taking over as Sam Scudders official successor. There was a time where he had a Cocaine Addiction which caused friction between him and Capt Cold because of Len’s rule against drug use. 

Throughout all of this, Evan made sure to donate a portion of all the money he ever got to the McCulloch Orphanage

Axel Walker AKA Trickster (second one) 

On PE, Axel was recruited by the Rogues early on in his career. He messed up during a heist and they kicked him out (they'd never do that but w/e) 

He worked for Mob Rule as a henchman for a bit then went freelance when MB was arrested. He saved Cold's life cuz he felt he still owed Cold a debt. When Grodd took over Central, Axel tried to join his side but Grodd tore his arm off from the bicep (ouch) and left him to die on the street. Axel got himself a cool sleek robot arm and returned to crime anyway. He got accused of murder, Barry cleared his name, but he still got sent to Iron Heights for other charges. 

The Rogues, hearing about this, went to bust him out and were like "okay fine u can hang with us" and he stayed with them from then on

In NE canon, while Jesse was working with the FBI, Axel stole all his gear and ended up working for Penguin in Gotham. Penguin gets attacked by Tarantula, Axel fails to stop her and a few days later he gets caught by Robin (Tim) for causing trouble in Gotham. 

He moves on to work with Amunet Black, but after her defeat is offered to join the “new Rogues” by Capt Cold and accepts the offer. Some stuff happens, he fights the OG Trickster who leaves him in a dumpster and tells him never to pick up the gear again, then Axel answers an ad from some college students asking for a trained hero to teach them some things, he has dinner with them and then kills them all. Neat.

When Jesse died, Axel redonned the Trickster gear and started operating his own crew out of an old Rogues hideout. When the Rogues returned to Central, Axel found out they were gonna retire and go underground. He rejoined them to help them get revenge on Inertia for manipulating them into killing Bart Allen, and he stayed with the group henceforth. 

Evan explained to him that joining the Rogues wasn’t a matter of him wanting to be one, but why he needed to be one

In short: Axel is a punk kid who wants to fit in with the big boys and the Rogues are the only ones who really gave him a chance, acting like his older siblings. It’s worth noting that canon never mentions any relatives for him so, as far as we know, crime is all he’s ever known

1) Saph the hedgehog

This is Saph. He’s a 18/19 year old disaster gay trans boy.

I change his shoe design literally every single time i draw him. :)

I’ll go in depth about his past later.

Saph is pretty much all over the place and forgets to be considerate of other peoples feelings sometimes. He might come off as very egoistic of self centered, but he does actually care in his own kind of way (even when its. kinda bad bc he gives off wrong signals sometimes and ends up hurting people hes close to)

He’s looked up to Sonic ever since he was small and he collects all of the Sonic comics and video games. His dream is to meet Sonic and win against him in a fight.

Shadow is his big idol in many things so he tries to be edgy sometimes or act tough but he fails miserably most of the time and makes a fool of himself; which he doesn’t really mind because he can take a lot of things with humour (sometimes too much). He also uses white eye liner to imitate shadows marks, and he dyes some parts of his fur white to make the marks he already has extend to look more like shadows.

Shadow was the person that taught him how to control his chaos powers, because he’d always just weakened himself in the past, because he is super unstable. (If it wasnt for Shadow he probably would have died by now.) Shadow also was the one that told Saph to go to Tails for help with the buckles on his wrists and the rings on his ankles. They are made of a material similar to shadows rings (tails tried his best to replicate them) so they would help keep the energy in Saph balanced. Due to his strong affiliation to Chaos Energy, he could technically even turn super; but his body would be unable to hold the immense amount of energy and begin to literally burn down to ash within a few minutes.

He is very gay and in a relationship with Ezra.

He’s on T and has not yet had top op. (his bobbies smol its all muscle >:3€ )

2) Red the hedgehog

Red is 25/26 years old and works at GUN as special agent. Sometimes he and Rouge get drunk in her club at night and joke about tearing that organization down (or maybe they are not joking)

he’s pansexual and horny 24/7. He has a girlfriend and is in an open relationship. hes polyam if you didnt guess it askdsajh

he’s blind in the right eye and has a tattoo of a star on his chest

Saph and Red. They are brothers.

When red was a young lad and Saph was still a baby their father snapped and beat Red up with an iron bar, making him blind on his right eye. Red took Saph and ran away from home.(Their mother died at saphs birth)

They lived and still live in a city a litte farther off Empire City.

Red decided to go to an orphanage because he could not possibly take care of an infant. (granted his dad couldnt either but it seemed the best possible solution)

They lived in the orphanage for a few years, but saph very soon showed sighns of being trans and got bullied by the other kids. they would call him gay and tr*nny and kick him until he fell silent to endure his “punishment”.

Red couldn’t take it and decided to run away with Saph again. They lived on the street for a while, but Red was caught by GUN for stealing. Once they found out he had a form of chaos powers (even if weak) they decided to let him slide and hire him as Special Agent.

Red accepted this and uses the money he ears to make sure Saph has a good life. This kinda spoiled Saph a little, but he also deserved it lets be real here.

Red made sure to enable saph to get education (which he totally refuses to acknowledge and take seriously) and physical transition.

3) Ellectra “Ellie” the tenrec

Ellie is a 20 year old functional asexual demiromantic lesbian who is not interested in dumb boys and would rather talk about science with a pretty girl.

She can manipulate electricity and is called “Daughter of Zeus” by the townsfolk in her home island called Coral Island, which is located near the windsmil isles in Apotos.

She studies archeology and gaia mythology/ancient history, which makes it very convenient that she lives nearby an actual gaia temple. (She wants to be like lara croft one day)

At the 2005 black arms invasion her mother got heavily wounded when she tried to protect the town from the aliens and died from the aftermath.

Ever since then Ellie hates Shadow with a burning passion and holds him responsible, because she believed the government propaganda (provided by GUN ofc) that Shadow is One Of The Aliens. If she was ever to meet him she would be FURIOUS and ready to murder (she knows he cant die though).

She tried not to focus too much on that and just. do her cool ancient stuff.

Here are her parents Chion and... the mother i had still not found a good name for.

5) Chion the tenrec

This gentleman is 40+ years old and proud father of Ellie.

Hes also a het ace.

Chion is greek for snow (as far as google translate goes) and he was named that bc of his white nose lmao. its like a snowflake on his black body.

He doesn’t have any elemental powers, but he is naturally very strong and will punch anyone who comes close to his family. He can also use swords and is a skilled swordsman.

He inherited an olive farm from his family and he does keep it going. He makes his money selling olive products he does make himself.

6) Athena the hedgehog

Athena was the daughter of the “major” of the island that the family lived on (coral island), so she was expected to become the new major once he had to retire.

Due to the location of the island and the geographical landmarks on it, many raiders (and also eggman) have great interest in the ruins and mythological places. Athena is not one to give in easily and defended her people and the island from many intruders.

She possessed a less particular (than Ellie), but still fierce power of lightning manipulation. Having used her powers excessively, she sustained severe damage to her arms which showed as lighting shaped scars. She showed them with pride, because they meant she had fought hard to get where she was now.

She was bisexual and married to a tenrec called Chion. She was a year older than him.

The rings Ellie wears on her wrists were her mom’s.

7) Frost the snow leopard

Frost is a 15 year old demiboy who really just wants to have a good time. He hasnt really given his sexuality much thought.

He lives in a small village in Holoska; hes actually even met the werehog. Well he saw him. but he was too afraid to talk to him because holy shit its Sonic The Hedgehog!!!!!!!

He has ice powers!!!!

His insides are like -18°C and he cant eat anything that is hot. He has to eat cooked meals when they are room temperature, or even cooled down to fridge temperatures ( about 6°C).

He basically lives off ice cream and dry meat (if they get fancy food from the city he gets frozen pizza) He thinks of going to the UF for college, but he doesnt really know what he wants to do with his life yet so hes just having fun snowboarding.

8) Mitzu the Cheetah

Mitzu is 22 years old and owns a flower shop/chao garden combo where she takes care of chao, while taking care of flowers and breeding them. Her hydrokinesis powers are very helpful in that!

She loves nature and the outdoors and feeling the grass under her feet, so she doesn’t wear shoes/socks. Ever.

She generally is very free spirited and optimistic!

Shes a big sapphic but shes also okay w being single atm.

Her chao are like children to her and she loves the chao that get left in the garden as much as her own. (ppl leave their chao there when they cant watch over them anymore or if they go for a vacation and cant take them with them or smth)

9) Dan the red panda*

Dan is 17 years old and a big homo.

He has no special powers, except being able to eat and sleep more than the average person.

He’s from a very rich family, but his parents insisted in him finding a wife to like. pass down the heritage but he aint having none of that so his punk ass ran away from home to be his gay self and study art. 

He lives in a tree house a little off a small village in a more rural area in east UF, near station square. let the depression boy be happy...

10) Yoshi the siamese cat

Yoshi is a 20 year old enby kitty who wants to make the world a gayer place!

They are studying fashion design in hope to one day open their own fashion store for queer people! The clothes are made with body differences in mind and they also want to offer a free customization service to fit clothes to every single body type.

They don’t have any special powers as of now but i kinda want to give them a power that could be helpful with their goal Im still thinking about it ...

11) Joel “Spirit” the Husky

Spirit is fresh ripe 14 years old and Sonic the hedgehog is his big big idol. He wants to be JUST like him when he grows up.

It has come to my attention that he is basically the sonic universe Deku and I may or may not be planning to write a fanfiction for that...........

He doesn’t have any special offensive powers, but he has orange blood and he has the ability to read the Chaos Signature of anything he encounters. (called: Chaos Vision)

This means he will immediately know if a person he meets has super powers and he will also know what that power is. He can also guess the emotions of people because they are tied to the kind of chaos energy that surrounds a person.

12) Aurora the Husky

Spirit’s Sister!

Her name is Aurora and she also has Chaos Vision!

She was born blind, but she’s been able to see with her power, so that’s just what the world looks like to her: Darkness with many many colorful lights.

Over time through hard training she was able to perfect her vision and be able to distinguish between a lot of things and even see things that only have very little chaos energy in them!

13) Axel the Axolotl*

I don’t really have much info on them I made them pretty random one day bc i thought. hey. .... what if... axolotl sonic character.

14) Azul the cat

Azul is my sonicsona kinda. He was pmuch my persona b4 i was kin w shadow. 

He’s an edgelord and i guess he’s still technically me; or rather what i want to be. 

He’s already on T and has has top op and he does not crumble away under social anxiety like i do askjdsakjd.

15) ( UNKNWOWN) the Pangolin*

Similar to Axel I didn’t think much about him yet......  

he’s aroace and kinda goofy but he cares for his friends. He can roll up and do spin dashes and homing attacks like sonic, but he obviously doesnt have his super sonic speed.

16) Coal the hedgehog

Coal is one of the newest of my characters; but he’s also one of my oldest. 

You see, Coal is a revamp of a very old crappy fanchild i had back in like 2012.

New Coal is 27 years old and a gay mess. He can turn into a cloud of smoke and control it at will. He is completely immune to physical attacks. try to stab/shoot him and u ded. hes coming for u.

he steals, but only from rich ppl. hes chaotic neutral tho bc he keeps that shit for himself safhsaljfha he generally just wants to chill and have his peace. 

he loves being an edge lord though he just wants that image for himself, even though he is kinda a softie... hes good at keeping up an act in dangerous situations though and that sometimes scares attackers off (also his powers)

Nia is the daughter of a shamaran professor and a woman who owns a boulongerie in spagonia. She joined the ARK program in hope to make the world a more accepting place.

Hikari is is from an island near chun-nan (japan) and she also joined the program in hope to be able to help make a change for the better. she also enjoys biology and genetics a lot.

Theodor joined purely because of his joy in working on genetics and robotics that immitate life. He’s innitially from the GUN team but was assigned to work with Gerald.

20) Commander Jonathan Williams

old art again sorry sakjfhsakj. He is the father of the current GUN commander! He’s 52 and a total douchebag. He’s kinda mad with power and genuinely believes that putting shadow under pressure to become the ultimate and strongest weapon (stronger than an atomic bomb) was necessary to end the war that was going on at that time.

I cannot spoil too much on what happened to each of these people as it’s spoilers for my fanfic.

21) Sidus “Nova” the black panther (and 22 Badass the Chao)

You see. The thing with nova is that i recycled him as human/demon character for a story sjkhfkafhsakj but he has shadow powers where he can use all shadows as portals into a shadow dimension that is entirely his own. he can travel through that but it makes him very tired. he likes to store capri suns in there and just take em out whenever he wants. He has a Chao called Badass (pictured below)

She is new and I don’t have much info other than that she’s from a jungle area; perhaps in adabat.

She secrets a poisonous slime from her body; yet her spit has healing accelerating properties.

¡Hola anon! That's a... very particular question about CD! By any chance... did you actually watch the latest episode of the podcast (Spanish only, btw guys) I run? Because if not then it's a massive coincidence considering what happened there :P

5. Stardust Speedway Good Future... US

Yeah, recently I've been revisiting some of the US OST gems, and this is certainly one of them. Years ago I called this soundtrack "proto-Adventure", and while it has little to do with Senoue and the rest of the composers involved in SA1, this song in particular has some of that flavor I really enjoyed in Adventure. It might be the 90's feel, or maybe the synths, I don't know. The only thing I know is that I love this track.

4. Sonic Boom (Ending ver.)

Cosmic Eternity might dominate the discussion surrounding CD's ending, and I might have it sitting on my Spotify playlist ever since I created an account like... 7 years ago? But this version of Sonic Boom is fricking incredible, and hella underrated. The chill ending vibes, the lyrics, that electric guitar s o l o and then the acoustic guitar capping off the song on its own... it's everything I ever need. Heck, last year I uploaded myself to Twitter playing the acoustic part. I'm actually in love with that part.

3. Wacky Workbench Past

February 2020, mid-summer, Latin Dr. Robotnik's late night Sonic rave. 'nuff said.

No, but seriously, take the deconstructed version and crank the volume up for that godly bassline. Holy shit it's so amazing.

2. Palmtree Panic Bad Future JP

Probably the only instance where Palmtree Panic's loud nature doesn't bother me at all (for Present and Good Future, I actually prefer the US versions), and it's actually one of my favorite tracks of the entire game. Metallic Madness BF might be dark af, but this version of Palmtree Panic just shows you how much you fucked things up by not getting the good future. It goes hard, very hard in fact, and I fucking adore it.

1. Stardust Speedway Past

No surprises there, I haven't changed my opinion on this track for almost a decade now. I still remember how happy I was to see Stardust Speedway was returning for Mania, and with an entire act dedicated to the past version! That track was my favorite song of 2017, no joke.

I love every single thing about this version of Stardust Speedway, but then again, take the deconstructed drums and bass and just embark in the chillest ride of your night. This song just brings me back to Earth

And that's Sonic CD for me! Spoilers from the podcast but yeah, it's my all-time favorite Sonic soundtrack. It's how I want and expect any game trying to replicate the Classic era to sound like. Beev and I did a lot of digging on this topic last year, and one of the conclusions I came to was that CD absolutely nailed Sonic's attitude during that era (beev's conclusions are a bit different and you should check out the entire article). So, yeah, I can talk a ton about this game, but I think I'm gonna cut it here.

2. Is there a trope you’ve yet to try your hand at, but really want to?

Surprisingly, I’ve never done bed-sharing or heat (that I can recall) and I like both of them a lot.

3. Is there a trope you wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole?

Hooo boy unless I was specifically commissioned for it I am not a fan of a/b/o. Kind of ironic since I really like heat fics, but having your personality defined by your inborn sexual nature is just… really weird to me.

4. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Care to share one of them?

A ton, tbh. A lot revolve around both Mariks and Ryou. Two of the biggest at the moment are ‘Marik, after therapy, tries to work stuff out with Yami Marik and it doesn’t go super smoothly but they end up okay.’ and ‘ 27 year old Ryou finds a kid on the street who was kicked out for being gay and brings him home to his bf Marik and is just ‘we’re parents now’.

7. Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

I’m not going to dig through seven years worth of fanfiction (holy shit I’ve been publishing online since I was 12) but I’m really proud of this line from the fic I posted the other day-

“He grieved for his village, and he hated the pharaoh. He liked Marik, then hated him for giving up on the darkness. He was human, once, and… emotions slipped through. From both of us.”  Ryou’s nails dug into Yugi’s skin. “It’s like I lost a part of me, and I never even got to say goodbye.”

“Why haven’t you said anything?”

Ryou looked up without raising his head, looking from the top of his eyes. “You’d all just nearly died because of Zorc and the Thief King. I doubt that you’d want to hear I missed him.”

“I’d want to know you to know you can trust us.”

“But you couldn’t trust me.” His voice was soaked through with bitterness like a rag with vinegar.

The last line in particular, I rarely think of good enough similes but that one just popped out, it’s really vivid and sells my point exactly.

16. If you only could write one pairing for the rest of your life, which pairing would it be?

Man, that’s super difficult, not in the least since I like writing different ships for different reasons and I have at least a dozen fandoms I’m at least partially active in. It would probably have to be something Sonic related- maybe Sonadow? That one has held my interest for the longest.

28. Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.

Hoooo, boy. Phantomrose96 consistently is GREAT not only with story but with making angst with a purpose- it’s often ‘let’s follow the implications of what the fandom is talking about to its logical conclusion’, or ‘hey, this show has some creepy ideas, let’s amp them up.’

Chiisai Kitsune wrote one of my favorite fics of all time, even though it may have been dropped, and even though it’s really only one her grasp on character and pacing has me in awe.

Maybe Pengy Chan? Flat Dreams and Mind Cage are some of my fave gf fics, and she manages to actually make Bill a little sympathetic while never forgetting he’s the villain for a reason.

35. Would you ever kill off a canon character?

A couple of my Sonic aus involve Sonic being a ghost/him and Shadow in the afterlife, if that counts. I’ve never written full ‘complete cut off from interaction ever again’ death, though.

37. Talk about your current wips.

I don’t really do WIPs much, as often I just gun through my oneshots in one sitting and then edit them, but I am sort of on and off working on a Loki au where he found out he was adopted earlier, and I have a multi-chapter Generator Rex fic that I still love where Rex was collared by Caesar and how that would change season 3 of the show.

(Hey!! So I don’t really ship Archieronnie, because I ship v with girls and qp jarchie, but tbh they’re quite cute in the show?? They’re quite healthy and sweet?? So since I’m not sure where I stand take some pre varchie as a compromise! Hope that’s ok! Also really short because i hit a block again lol)

If Archie Andrews knew anything about Veronica Lodge, it was that she was one stubborn girl.

The raven haired princess had only walked into his life less than a year ago, but it felt like much longer, because she had already set her mark on him and his friends. There was nothing foreign about her anymore, and it was like she had always been there.

Archie felt like he knew a lot about Veronica already. All her little quirks and how she thought and what she stood for. But there was still a mystery to her. Archie wasn’t always sure what she thought. Or her full history. She had lived such a big life compared to his small one, he could never truly comprehend how that might feel like.

But Archie liked what he saw, and he was ready to like what else would come at him. He wasn’t quite sure what that would be, but one thing Archie Andrews was was that he was determined.

Even if it meant trying to tackle her down when she walked into school coughing.

When she walked down the hall that morning she didn’t have her usual flair and flounce, her stride not quite as finesse or eloquent as it usually was.

She walked with a slight drag, her steps not quite as confident and bouncy and more slow and rooted to the earth beneath her. Her smile wasn’t quite as dashing and charming, because there wasn’t one at all.

Veronica was wearing a oversized (but still stylish and chic in a way only Veronica lodge could do) knitted sweater and jeans, when Veronica only ever wore dresses and skirts. Her makeup was kept to a minimum and she was a shade or two lighter, her healthy, glowing tan washed out. She didn’t even wear her killer high heels. Archie thought she still looked pretty damn great, but he knew something was up.

“Ronnie?” Archie called out softly, approaching her at her locker, unable to see her face due to the door blocking her from him. He was careful to keep his voice low in case she had a headache. Being best friends with a dude who had a non existent immune system meant he was pretty good at this kind of stuff.

Veronica jumped slightly, clearly a little dazed and out of it. She quickly shut her locker closed to see who it was, and tired, heavy looking eyes widened when she saw who it was.

“Oh, Archie, hi!” She replied finally, her voice husky and a few semitones lower than it usually was. Her voice was a little flat, and a slight hint of congestion was lacing her words.

Archie raised an eyebrow cautiously, and took note of the concealer rubbed off one side of her nose, revealing reddened, raw skin.

“Hm,” Archie commented.

“What?” Veronica asked, confused, before her face scrunched up into a pre-sneeze expression, her nostrils flaring for a second before she covered her entire face with her hands and turning away to sneeze two harsh but oddly feminine sneezes.

She turned back to Archie like nothing had happened.

“Bless you,” Archie said, almost a little accusingly, a hard time to his voice.

“What’s going on with you?” Veronica said causally to try and throw him off, opening up her locker again and proceeding to take the books she needed for her upcoming classes.

“You’re sick”, Archie accused, squinting as his brow furrowed.

Veronica scoffed, closing her locker to face him with a challenging expression and raised eyebrow, clearly amused with him, “Jesus Archie, you miss taking care of Jughead so much that you have to find a new sickie. Look, I know he doesn’t live with you anymore but be patient, sooner or later he’ll be sick soon and ready for your brotherly love.”

Archie huffed, “This is not about Jughead, Ronnie, this is about you! I see you’re clearly sick, and you need to go home like, right now! Or I will physically drag you home.”

Veronica laughed at him, and Archie couldn’t miss the croaky timbre to her laugh, “Archiekins, you’re just being ridiculous now. Now go off and play some music or football, or whatever it is you do, because I have to go off and get to my history class with Josie.”

She strode off, but not before offering him the sweetest, signature Lodge smile, which was almost convincing enough to get Archie off her back, but it still wasn’t enough. There wasn’t enough fire in her eyes, it was a dull spark at most, smothered by the over looming sickness weighing down on her body.

Archie watched as she walked away and faded into the crowd, feeling almost a little alienated from the lack of the sound of the clicking of her heels against the floor. It felt strangely empty. He frowned with concern as she disappeared, and with much hesitation eventually ended up retreating into his classroom although his brain was plagued with the fear that something would happen to Veronica and it would be his fault she had disappeared.

Archie was pretty reckless throughout his science class.

He couldn’t hear anything Mr Callahan was saying, and the class seemed to drag on and on like time was stuck on some strangle loop like he was in a Doctor Strange comic book. It seemed pretty awesome in concept, but in practice, Archie was not at all enjoying this agonising limbo.

It wasn’t like Archie had a particular hatred towards the subject, in fact Archie thought it was an alright subject, and while he didn’t perform in it too well, he did like to learn about it. The test part though, could fuck off in a ditch somewhere far away. But today he hated nothing more than this class.

It was the worry settling in his stomach, constantly probing his brain with panic inducing thoughts and prodding it with more absurd notions that logically he knew was impossible, but in the moment they felt certain. Archie wondered how Veronica was feeling, if she was okay, and the question wouldn’t stop attacking him and it pierced itself into his head a little deeper as the clock ticked on.

The moment the bell rang he practically jumped out of his seat and yanked the door open, and watched as a sea of students piled out of their classrooms into their next class. Archie searched and searched through this Where’s Waldo Page of a hallway, but couldn’t quite locate his target, the raven haired princess.

With defeat Archie sighed and slumped towards the music room, and opened the door to see Josie frowning and in deep conversation with Valerie.

Archie widened his eyes, “Oh, shit, sorry, am I interrupting? I can leave–”

Josie offered him a smile and shook her head, “You’re alright, Yoko Ono, we’re good.”

Archie nodded and took a seat, after grabbing his guitar and beginning to unzip the bag, “I uh..don’t want to push, but is anything up?”

Valerie sighed softly, “Its not world breaking, or anything, but Josie was just saying to me about how sick Veronica was just at history back then.”

Archie’s heart skipped a beat and sank to the ground.

“Yeah, poor girl was shivering her head off. I tried to give her my jacket but poor babe is too stubborn. She couldn’t stop sneezing all class, and each time it would get more..sick sounding? Poor baby should just go home..I tried to get her to go home but–”

“Josie, where is she now?”

“She’s off to Vixen Practice now, I think–”

“Okay, thank you so much, but i have to go!” Archie said hurriedly as he rezipped his guitar and shoved it back against a stand and jumped to his feet, and zoomed away like a sonic the hedgehog game he used to play when he was little.

Josie smirked, exchanging a glance with Valerie,“ Pureheart the Powerful, he is.”

Veronica wrapped her arms around herself and shivered violently, her legs trembling and causing the seat to rattle slightly, a very quiet and dull shaking noise being produced as a result. Her hands shook, unable to properly take down her history notes and all discussions about whatever world war was being discussed seemed to blend into this hideous mess of a blur.

Veronica let out a breathy exhale, reaching her pen and wanting to scream at how ice cold her hands were, and tried to etch something out onto her notebook but all that came out were unreadable scribbles and chicken scratch. She sighed deeply, until a tickle in her nose made her breath hitch embarrassingly loudly as her nose twitched and caught the sneeze in her cupped hands.

She sneezed two harsh, heavy sneezes that caused her to bend over with the sheer force of them. She couldn’t respond to the multiple bless you’s she received because another tickle in her nose made her nostrils start to flare again, as she gasped for breath and fell into yet another monstrous release of sneezes that ripped out of her with a loud, harsh sound.

Any feminine or delicate timbre that might have been lightly laced in the sound of her sneezes were completely lost by a sickly sounding, desperate, and almost masculine sound. She felt miserable.

Suddenly a piece of cloth was being prodded against her, Veronica whipped around to face this person, nose puffed up and pink, eyes teary and nostrils still lightly twitching in a sneezy haze.

“Hey girl, you should take this,” Josie said softly.

Veronica refused politely, until she was forced back into a tortuous pre-sneeze limbo where she was just on the verge of another sneeze, just teetering on the edge but stuck, causing her breath to hitch endlessly and nose to twitch.

Then suddenly a tissue box was being thrust upon her desk by her teacher., not so kindly, in a way that made her feel heavy and ashamed of herself. She felt awful, not just by the sickened state of her body but the shame and self loathing thoughts that began to crawl into her brain and infest it. A mental block creeped in as she subconsciously began to retreat into herself.

But with a high pitched gasp Veronica buried her swollen, tickling nose into the soft tissue and began a fit of 7 loud, desperate and ticklish sneezes with only a short amount of space in between them, causing all eyes to drift towards her. Veronica went bright red with embarrassment and she wished with everything she had she could just stop but her nose was saying otherwise.

Once she finished she quietly blew her nose, looking away and refusing to make eye contact. She felt so ashamed through this feverish haze, even with Josie’s kind eyes practically yelling at her that it was okay.

When the bell rang she rushed out of there and coughed her way out, biting her lip hard and tried to fight the tears that threatened to spill had she stayed a second longer.

Veronica was freezing in her River Vixen outfit, unable to stop the coughs that ripped out out of her and scraped against her inflamed throat. She coughed violently as she made her way inside the gym, only to be met by concerned eyes of her fellow vixens.

Ginger frowned at her with concern, “Did you get what Betty had?”

Veronica shook her head, “No, I didn’t, I’m fine.”

Tina’s eyes flooded with worry, “V, if Betty is still out with it and it’s been 2 days, I bet that you should most definitely be in bed right now. You don’t look very well.”

“Well, I’m doing just fine fine!” Veronica snapped before her nostrils began to flare and she tried to hide her nose with a cupped hand. She began to wave the air in front of her face, attempting to stifle the first two sneezes but the tickle was too forceful to conceal them, so was forced to let them out, doubling over to sneeze two high pitched, ticklish and desperate sneezes towards the floor.

“Veronica, as much as I enjoy our fire and ice battle we have going on, I do have to agree, and I would not be opposed to a ceasefire for the time being. After all, it is unfair for me to win with such an advantage,” Cheryl said, trying to sound as unaffected as possible but Veronica couldn’t miss the worried glint in her eyes.

“I am fine, Cheryl, now lets start with this dance, okay?” Veronica insisted, pushing them aside and stretched out.

Cheryl exchanged a look with one of the girls, but turned on the music. Then the dancing started.

And that was when she broke.

The twirls and turns and the leaps and the pyramids were too much for her. Veronica could feel her body overheat and scream at her for mercy, and her head spun around and she felt incredibly dizzy and everything was too much. Veronica couldn’t catch her breath, her lungs heavy and congested and then she found herself coughing her lungs out, bent over by the power and slowly descending onto the floor as the world began to tilt.

“Veronica!” Cheryl yelled in panic.

And then Archie came swooping into the doors, eyes scanning the area until he met his objective. Then like a knight in shining armour he ran for her, catching her in his arms, and he world steadied itself.

“Ronnie?!”

“Fine,” She choked out.

“You’re really not!” Archie said frantically as he hauled one of her arms around his shoulders and began to walk her towards the nurses office.

“Jesus, Ronnie, you really scared me,” Archie said breathlessly, still clearly in shock, looking over her from a chair next to one of the beds in the nurse’s office.

“Hm, is a world without me really so bleak, Archiekins?” Veronica teased, her voice still croaky.

“Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night Ronnie.”

She giggled at that.

“But seriously, you can’t do that,” Archie said, more seriously now.

“What?”

“This. Trying to be strong all the time when you don’t have to.”

“Yeah, it’s all I have.”

Archie froze, “Ronnie…it’s not. You don’t have to do this all the time..”

His eyes were so kind.

“..It’s the only way I feel like I have control..I feel..so weak all the time at home, and inside.. I always feel belittled somehow, like I’m not in on a joke everyone else is. I feel so isolated all the time, like..I have no control of anything. I don’t think I’m strong enough. This is the only way I feel like I have a grip on anything, something I can hold on to and hold steady. Like an anchor. This ..false belief of pretending like I’m something, but I’m not. I’m just Veronica.”

Archie smiled softly, “You’re not alone. Ever since Jughead moved out I..I feel kind of..empty. Because he was my anchor, he still is, but..he’s not there at 3 am in the morning when I can’t sleep because I’m thinking too much anymore. I feel like we’re a duo, you know? Sun and Moon. And he’s so..far away now. And he’s floating away from me and I’m losing my grip. Slipping away. I just..want something to hold onto and keep me steady too.”

Veronica smiled softly, quickly wiping away the tears in her eyes, “We’re both incredibly fucked up, Archie Andrews.”

He chuckled at that.

“And for what it’s worth..I really do like ‘Just Veronica’.”

Brighid: Tell us about your relationship with your father.- it has had its fair share of ups and downs. my father raised me as a single dad and he was great at it. i had birthday parties, i had the books, shoes, toys i wanted - even if it meant waiting a little more than everyone else bc my dad worked hard and only made so much for us both. my dad having to do all that came totally left field for him i imagine and he fucking rose to the occasion. somewhere down the line he did begin to resent my mother and i when she wandered back around, and i know he didn’t like that i chose her every time even though she paid me no mind and he was a doting parent. i went a couple years without talking to either of my parents, but we’re all actually pretty good now. my mom has made up for a lot and she’s not perfect bt she’s still trying and i can say the same for my dad as well

Spare Parts Liveblog 5 (end of disc 1) 

Above left: Lee Sullivan illustration for Spare Parts in Doctor Who Magazine. A lot of the early BFs got teasers like this, back when they were the only new Doctor Who dramas, and there was a lot of overlap between people working on DWM and Big Finish (e.g. editor/executive producer Gary Russell).

Let me consolidate so I’m not spamming you with too many posts. 

Track 1.4 - “Civil/Domestic Disturbances” 

Uh oh. Sisterman Constant (constant? I guess it’s supposed to be Constant) reports on the highly suspicious Nyssa, obviously a disreputable character. 

Totalitarian state, secret police... Doctor, you really need to stop wandering about on your own and go collect your companion before she gets into horrible trouble. It’s a credit to how much he respects Nyssa to be smart and handle herself, but still, ack.

(Somewhat an Achilles’ heel of audios: can’t have too many characters in a scene at once, so the TARDIS team splits up to cover more story). 

And then comes that great gruesome moment when the Doctor gets his first look at a very early prototypical cyber policeman, who is more like a cyber-zombie, and of course these creepy horrible things are what Mondas has instead of friendly bobbies.

The cyber-implant horse is a nice touch of horror. Since both it and its rider are sort of walking corpses animated by cyber implants, the effect is to look like Death on a Pale Horse.

This was the first time I’d ever heard that eerie singsong voice of the early Cybermen, courtesy of Nick Briggs. At first it sounds goofy. But as time goes on— it’s so detached from emotion in a way that even a monotone isn’t, it’s really really creepy. 

And the Doctor, bless him, is so busy making observations and exploring that he doesn’t realize how much danger he’s in until the cyber-police tries to arrest him and hurts him (police brutality, this is sadly NOT retro but modern) when he doesn’t comply.

Because Pete’s specialty is agony acting. Just warming up here; he’ll have more opportunities later.

“I was standing up before you knocked me down. Thank you officer.” Five usually uses “thank you” when he’s being a snarky.

And of course he uses smarts and random things in his pockets but NOT a sonic to wriggle out of danger.

Back to the Hartleys, and they sound like any real squabbling family. Except Frank’s homework is “logic and cybernetics.” Nyssa offers to help, because she’s a smart cookie and knows all about that kind of thing. 

Which she proves by giving Mr. Hartley’s artificial heart a tuneup. This is why the Doctor likes her; she’s at home with alien tech and just about as handy as he is.

Another hint of Nazi Germany (or Soviet Russia, or 1984, or any other totalitarian dystopia): someone crying for help outside, being hauled off by the police, and the Hartleys just turn up the television so they can’t have their conscience troubled.

Track 1.5 - “Change and Decay”

The Hartleys are getting out their holiday tree — parallel Earth taken to the extreme again — but again, it’s a little threadbare and macabre.

Good acting Sarah Sutton moment: 

“You’ll be glad to get back to your family for the holidays!” Nyssa (wistfully): “Yes. I’d really like that.” Ouch.

And then we get a tiny bit of Traken backstory/worldbuilding which is so beautiful and sweet and sad. Again, Big Finish gives classic Who companions the depth/character study the show often didn’t take time for.

More worldbuilding-- Marc Platt suggests the cybermats were originally children’s toys! And yep, there goes Nyssa fixing it, not realizing how dangerous they are (or how horrible, if you’ve heard the Benny story suggesting they’re cyber-converted babies). 

Dodd’s still trailing the Doctor hoping for spare parts, but then they find out what’s happening after curfew. The cybermen are bodysnatchers, robbing the graveyard. Even Dodd is shaken out of his cynicism and horrified.

Track 1.6 - “Ask Not” 

While Nyssa and Yvonne are playing with the mat, Frank reveals he wants to join the work crews, get better pay, and be there when they break through to the surface. So apparently Frank doesn’t know about that broadcast that opened the audio.

Yvonne Hartley and her dad have been kind and hospitable to Nyssa, but Frank, the son, tears away the curtain and reveals the truth: they’ve been feeding her precious rations purchased by selling Mrs. Hartley’s body (to Dodd, we learn later). 

Talk about guilt. Nyssa promises to bring them food to make up for it. They try to stop her, but “I’m putting you all in danger... I can look after myself.” Again, more proactive than she was allowed to be on TV, mostly, where she was almost always the Doctor’s sidekick.

Just in time; the cyber-police come knocking as she flees. And whoops, innocent that Nyssa is, she takes the cybermat as a gift!

The Hartleys are terrorized— this is just a scary, horrible world, the more so because it’s like real-world places where the government can haul off anybody.

Now it’s the Doctor getting someone else in trouble for a change: Dodd helps him disable a policeman that’s trying to arrest them.

But then the Doctor tries to persuade Dodd to DO SOMETHING to stop the Cybermen and it’s too much for Dodd; he doesn’t want any trouble. The Doctor’s giving the people of Mondas a wake-up call. He sets the church bells ringing and runs.

The Doctor and Nyssa manage to meet at the TARDIS, and this is the point where they should LEAVE, and the Doctor knows it.

For listeners who haven’t got the backstory by now, they spell it out in an impassioned scene —  Nyssa sounds angry, horrified; she’s guessed this is the place where the cybermen were birthed. She only knows them as the race that killed Adric.

Now they have a very VERY rare argument. Nyssa wants to help. The Doctor insists they can’t; too much of the history of the universe hinges on the creation of the Cybermen for them to interfere with it.  He didn’t want to get involved.

And, cliffhanger reveals his first instincts were right: stirring up the people of Mondas causes the Committee (first heard here) to order a crackdown. As if things weren’t brutal enough already.

DOO WEE OOO. I love me classic Who cliffhangers.

And four-act structure. Act One: setting the stage before all hell breaks loose. Part I cliffhanger is the point of no return; the Doctor and Nyssa have inadvertently pushed Mondas into a tipping point, but they don’t yet know it. (Not that the fate of Mondas would’ve been averted if they hadn’t meddled— the Cybermen were about ready to take over — but their appearance is the catalyst.)
