my tears ricochet: You turned into your worst fears
illicit fears: You showed me colors you know I can't see with anyone else/You taught me a secret language I can't speak with anyone else
exile: I'm not your problem anymore so who am I offending now?
the 1: You know the greatest films of all time were never made?
cardigan: I knew you'd haunt all of my what-ifs
this is me trying: They told me all of my cages were mental so I got wasted like all my potential
peace: But I'm a fire and I'll keep your brittle heart warm
hoax: You knew the hero died, so what's the movie for?
august: Back when we were still changing for the better
betty: Those days turned into nights, slept next to her, but I dreamt of you all summer long
invisible string: Something wrapped all of my past mistakes in barbed wire
mad woman: And women love hunting witches too
seven: And I've been meaning to tell you, I think your house is haunted; your dad is always mad and that must be why
the last great american dynasty: I had a marvelous time ruining everything
epiphany: With you, I serve; with you, I fall down; Watch you breathe in, watch you breathe out
the lakes: I want to watch wisteria grow right over my bare feet
mirrorball: And they called off the circus, burned the disco down; when they sent home the horses and the rodeo clowns

Thank you so much for the lovely response to the interlude and storming of the palace chapters! Here are some research photos for you from my trip(s) to Versailles!
Let's look at Versailles first.
This is the outside of the Palace (Versailles). This place is important for the coming chapters.
Chapelle Royale - The chapel where David's investiture happened.
The Apollo Room - The King's room - Albert's room. Hope one of those big paintings fall on his head and he dies :)
One of the many chambers of the royals - I pictured David's room (in Versailles) to look like this. (It's ugly ngl)
The Gallery of Great Battles. This is the biggest room in Versailles (and also my favourite room). It depicts nearly 15 centuries of French military successes, from Clovis to Napoleon, through 30 or so gigantic paintings. One of my favourite scenes happens here. I think you will like it too.
Hall of Mirrors - where cakegate happened and everything began.
The Grand Canal of Versailles - the one Max swam through to get into the Palace unnoticed. Fun fact: I sat by this canal and wrote some of the scenes. It's so long btw. Only Max could swim this in a single stretch.
Now. Moving into the Trianon Estate and David's current place of living.
I genuinely thought Petit Trianon was so much more beautiful than the Palace of Versailles and immediately decided David would live there instead of the Palace.
The green bench where we see David sit and read fanfiction.
The private chapel within the chateau that he visits in the morning (sometimes with Jackson).
The portrait of Marie Antoinette Max touches.
The forget-me -nots ceramics we see David using because he is a drama queen.
The iconic fireplace in front of which they have their fight ahhhh.
The room where David eats/has breakfast with Jackson/Max.
David's (Barbie) bedroom. They smashed on that bed hehe. It looks red, now, but with the right lighting, this place looks pink. Arthur would love it here.
This room, which is called the 'war room' is Jackson's office now. You can see his 'strategy' table. I love how it kinda resembles King Arthur's roundtable with the knights.
Jackson's cottage/home in Queen's Hamlet. The biggest one there.
Martin's cottage/home in Queen's Hamlet.
Some of the places Mavid goes through during their walk in Queen's Hamlet in the latest chapter:
And finally, The Temple of Love (Le Temple de l'Amour) - which is David's favourite place in Versailles and the place where Max gives him the necklace again (they got married in a temple bye)
End of tour.
This is genuinely one of my favourite places in the world and I am so grateful that I got the opportunity to visit it - and then write about it too. I sat in the temple and wrote some of the scenes from David's interlude while listening to some of David's favourite songs - including My Tears Richochet. If you ever find yourself in Paris/Versailles, I'd definitely recommend visiting the Trianon Estate.

Good morning, Rainbow! Here I am again with another question about lore and history. LOL I've noticed that anti-kaylors use "it's time to go" as almost a kind of mic drop in their arguments. I'm not trying to counter argue (that's a fool's errand, in my mind), but I'm wondering what this kaylor corner thinks about "it's time to go" and what the talking points about it are. What do you think?
As always, Taylor mixes in her own truth along with fantasy, things she’s read, media she’s viewed, her friends and family’s experiences, etc. Especially anything from folklore and evermore! This is intentional IMO so that she always has plausible deniability—things are confusing because bait and switches make it harder to trace a coherent timeline of anything
As far as ITTG—it’s funny to me how they can use one or two lines to confirm their beliefs and ignore the rest. To me, this song showcases many different instances in a persons life when they know they need to be done with a relationship—professional, familial, or intimate
IMO the sister/twin from your dreams line seems more applicable to DA than Karlie just based on appearance and the fact that we know for sure DA fucked with Taylors head a lot
The biggest verse for me that show Taylor is mixing folklore with her own truth are the following
“… Fifteen years, fifteen million tears
Begging 'til my knees bled
I gave it my all, he gave me nothin' at all
Then wondered why I left
… Now he sits on his throne in his palace of bones
Praying to his greed
He's got my past frozen behind glass
But I've got me”
This is so obviously a Scott B diss verse—also ties into my tears richochet to make it hit home even more for the people in the back. How can any of that be about Karlie? It can’t but if they want to stick to two sentences in one song that’s full of references to different kinds of endings when Taylor’s still writing KissGate anthems in the year of our lord 2023, I don’t know what to tell them besides good luck with that 🫡

I'm still on that My tears richochet angst, like the scenery of that song, how everything is laid out,the opening wake scene,(if we imagine that there is a body to burry),and Reg is telling a story of his death and their relationship, you can write the angstiest bartylus shit that ever existed based on that song, like why don't we have stories like that when we have so much potential? This is where the real juice of bartylus is,especially if it's close to canon, the intensity and potential for angst is unmatched. Anyway petition for Taylor to write a bartylus novel i know she would kill it (it would be better than atyd haha )

I'm so sorry this isn't pokemon related at all but I gotta know which t swift albums are your faves lmao 👀 (I'm forever stuck in the folklore/evermore days 🤎)
Okay. I am pretty rigid on keeping the blog pokemon-related, but you, dear anon, have asked me about something that I love more than anything else.
So I'm gonna just go wild with this and give you more than you asked for because frankly I am one of the biggest swifities on this Earth and honestly squeal any time I get the opportunity to talk about Taylor's music because of how much of a massive impact it has had on me. I get nervous with each drop but, without fail? Each and every album, in order, tends to follow themes in my life and somehow encapsulates a lot of what I'm going through in some way. I love each of these albums in their own way, and it's a bit hard to give them rankings. Less favorites are still very much favorites though!
1 - reputation
Holy trinity: I Did Something Bad; Don't Blame Me; New Year's Day Honorable mentions: literally every other song
This album was a torniquet for me, and even when I'm not fully relating to it emotionally as much it may just be permanently cemented in my heart and soul as the top dog because of how monumental it was to me. It dropped at a time in my life when I was reallllyyy going through it, and a lot of the overarching narrative of "I will survive this tooth and nail for better days, even if my dignity is lost" resonated hard. I think the presentation and marketing of this album was utterly genius (reclaiming the narratives, sound production/lyrical risks and imagery that were executed JUST right, the MERCH REFERENCES, the "bombastic, external persona" that transitions to "this is the real me behind closed doors; I found and cherish what's truly important and that's all that really matters", etc.) was just perfect. Perfect, perfect, perfect. IDSM AMA 2018 performance is also the best live performance ever, forever obsessed. Overall, this album is the one I turn to whenever life is hard and I want to fan the flames of resilience.
2 - evermore
Holy trinity: coney island; tolerate It; 'tis the damn
Honorable mentions: champagne problems; gold rush; long story short; Willow
God, I love evermore. Didn't even realize how much I did until the past year or so. I have a lot of deep cuts on this album, and like folklore, it was just SO awesome to have albums where the general public could see more of Taylor's quill pen songwriting on full display (although glitter gel pen songs are EQUALLY cool). I love the maturity behind this album and it actually taught me how to fall in love with the colder seasons and weather. Coney Island specifically lowers my blood pressure like no other song has ever done and I can't even tell you fully why; it's so surreal and serene to listen to on planes. And tolerate it? CHRIST. When I revisited it as I went through some of it in real time, OOOF. DIFFERENT LEVEL OF RESPECT. It is def in my top 5 songs. 3 - folklore
Holy trinity: caridgan; the 1; hoax
Honorable mentions: my tears richochet; mad woman; the lakes; peace; invisible string; august
CARDIGAN. CARDIGAN. Rep is my favorite album, but cardigan is my favorite song ohmygooood. Never have I ever felt something epitomize my life experiences and personhood - it quite literally feels like an encapsulation of my soul. I feel very spoiled that it got to be a single and mv - just absolutely stunning. Personally, I connect this song to a return to lost childhood innocence. And I am proud to say I own one of the original original cardigans and the only way you can separate it from me is by prying it from my cold, dead hands. BUT YES, FOLKLORE IS ELITE. The storytelling on this album is next level and the surprise drop of such intricate thought during the height of the pandemic was very needed. Hoax is an oddly specific lullaby for me because it was a specific comfort to me at one night. The 1 is just ooOOOOF also.
4 - Lover
Holy trinity: All Of The Girls You Loved Before; Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince; Cornelia Street
Honorable Mentions: False God; Cruel Summer; I Think He Knows; Daylight
I honestly don't give this album enough credit because I resonate a lot with its visuals and messages. It is def a bit more slapped together than others, but I do like the symbolism in that. Lover is about all forms of love (romantic, familial, platonic, self-based) and I often times get told by irl peeps that this alongside the folkmore albums are the kinds of energies I tend to emit lol. Daylight in particular has one of the most fire TS quotes at her adlib at the end with the whole "You are what you love" thing, and GOD. Any time I think of it or hear it I re-evaluate a lot to make sure I can live by it. Fun fact: revisiting the song is how I ended 2023, and it was the trigger that made me decide to write fanfiction & start this blog, because it's important to follow all sorts of things that make you happy! <3
5 - 1989 (TV)
Holy trinity: New Romantics; Say Don't Go; I Know Places
Honorable Mentions: Bad Blood (both versions; fight me); YOU ARE IN LOVE UGH; Is It Over Now?; Style; Clean
This album is pop perfection and I think every Swiftie can agree on that universally even if you're not a big fan of 1989. But ooohhh my gosh, this album set me free when it came out. There are so many positive messages about expressing yourself, leaning into the messes of life, and also, just letting yourself loosen up a bit. I was in a bit of an angsty emo phase when the og came out (lol) and Taylor's bubbliness challenged me in a great way and helped me get a bit of my sunshine back. It was my second most anticipated TV re-release, and the vault tracks DID not disappoint. Now that I'm more in the range of what Taylor was reflecting on at the time, too? OOF. DO I FEEL MORE CONNECTED THAN BEFORE.
6 - Fearless (TV)
Holy trinity: Mr. Perfectly Fine; The Way I Loved You; Forever & Always (Piano Version) Honorable Mentions: Change; You're Not Sorry; White Horse; Fifteen; The Best Day; You Belong With Me
Gosh. Fearless. FEARLESS. This album just stands out to me as such an homage to my childhood in a lot of different ways - but more so of the braver side of me in it. I absolutely love the imagery and dramatics of this album and feel like its just a bucket of sunshine and golden stars and warmth. It takes me back to simpler days, and I love love love how Mr. Perfectly Fine leans straight into some of the bangers I really loved on the og. This is more of a sunshiny fire album to me.
7- Midnights
Holy trinity: You're Losing Me; Dear Reader; Bejeweled (new! lmao)
Honorable Mentions: You're On Your Own, Kid; Would've Could've Should've; Lavender Haze; Anti-Hero; Midnight Rain; Mastermind; Snow On The Beach (feat. More Lana Del Ray)
This album is very dreary in a lot of ways, and jeez, I needed it when it first came out. Happy to say I went from more of a "Dear Reader" vibe to a "Bejeweled" vibe from release to now. I love the concept behind it so much and it's interesting to be able to relate to the "coming out of the dread" side thats sprinkled in here and there. It speaks to the more "stormy" parts of me that I tend to hide from others, and I really relate to TS's portrayal of it given her own general outward disposition.
8 - Red (TV)
Holy trinity: All Too Well 10 Minute Version; I Knew You Were Trouble; Begin Again
Honorable Mentions: Better Man; Girl At Home (fight me); Nothing New; Sad Beautiful Tragic; Treacherous
Okaayyy, THIS is the fall album. And we're getting to the point where these beautiful albums LOOK like they're ranked low, but the favoritism is still very much high regardless. God, ATWTMV took ATW and added a whole MAGNITUTE of maturity and retrospect that really speaks to a personal experience that I've had. I am beyond grateful that we finally got it and younger me would be screaming in disbelief!! LOL. But yeah, this album is what I turn to for heartbreak at times (more so of messy, fast and quick kind of feelings), and Begin Again is very relegable as a spiritual palette cleanser. The red scarf is one of my other favorite merch items I own.
9 - Speak Now (TV)
Holy trinity: Castles Crumbling; Mean; Haunted
Honorable mentions: Foolish One; Back to December; Enchanted; Better Than Revenge (lol og lowkey); Ours (MH ruined this one for me temporarily); I Can See You
This album is another childhood reminder type of album because of how whimsical and fairytale-esque it is, but I'll admit that Fearless (TV) is a little closer to my heart. Castles Crumbling though???? OH. MY. GOD. That had my jaw to the ground and is def in the top 10. What a tragedy to add to SPEAK NOW of all albums, and what nightmarish foresight Taylor must've had to compose it way back when. Haunted also speaks to my soul but more in a familial kind of way, and Mean? Mean is the spiteful little child in me LOL.
10 - Taylor Swift
Holy Trinity: Should've Said No; Tied Together With a Smile; Cold As You
Honorable Mentions: The Outside; A Place in This World; Picture To Burn
I'm ngl! This album I'm probably much more disconnected with compared to others despite me being a big Swiftie. Most of this is because I wasn't fully a fan when this came out, and country music isn't really my kind of jam. I'm very curious about how the TV is going to be handled and I think it's going to grow on me a bit more. Nonetheless, the holy trinity is elite and Should've Said No/Bad Blood mashup during the rep tour changed me as a person. One day I shall yee the haw here.
This was a lot of fun to share (and I know you didn't fully ask for this but HERE YA GO LOL), TS is my kryptonite and my everything and I hope you enjoyed. :) <3

TAYLOR SWIFT PROPAGANDA POSTING
okayokay look i know music is subjective and blahblahblah you dont HAVE to love her. but its unfair to totally discredit her (amazing and great and fantastic) song-writing and lyricism skills by just writing her off as the mindless pop music girl. LIKE???? NO??????? listen to evermore and get back to me if that is how you view her. but in all seriousness i genuinely do not know how someone with lyrical, and just overall, masterpieces such as RWYLM (right where you left me)!!!!! and MY TEARS RICHOCHET!!!!!!!!!! and STILL get their whole career discredited just because 'she only writes songs about her exes' or 'shes just not that good' coming from people who have only ever listened to top hits????? arguably artists most popular songs are hardly ever their best, or even a fair representation of their full discography. now coming from a (born and raised might i add) swiftie, obviously i'll always be biased BUT im also not a big mainstream pop fan besides for taylor swift. so going based on that perspective i dont necessarily love her more made for the radio-sounding tracks, but i can still acknowledge that they are well written and produced?? i genuinely believe most people can find at least one taylor swift song that they like, IF YOU PUT YOUR BIAS ASIDE. non-swiftie mutuals DM ME!!!! i will (try very hard to) find you a taylor swift song that you like !!

I didn't remember Taylor straight up spelled out what hoax is about. I remember her saying it's about different situations and then talking about how love for her is "don't want no other shade of blue but you" so I just decided it's about Joe, Scott and later, Karlie. I love this song and I love that nearly every line is about two of the situations or all three and I want to talk about it!
"My only one" refers to Joe in a romantic form of address but it could also go with my tears richochet's "did I deserve, babe, all the hell you gave me?".
"My smoking gun" is a piece of incriminating evidence. This line refers to Karlie ("she's a crook who was caught") and possibly a Joe's betrayal -> "chase two girls, lose the one" "I'm the best thing at this party" I could be wrong but I do think, for a story, there's a nice plotline here. Another line about betrayal that I think is about all three situations: "my twisted knife"
Honestly, I don't have an explanation for "my eclipsed sun". This could be just something that ruined her happiness, darkened her sky. All three situations definitely ruined her day (even weeks and months).
"This has broken me down" -> up until here she lists things, basically saying "you betrayed me and I'm devastated."
"My sleepless night" I think this is pretty self-explanatory but I love the "when you can't sleep at night" -> "my sleepless night" parallel. They're both suffering, they're both hurt by this situation. And whose fault is this?
"My winless fight" -> "when I'd fight you use to tell me I was brave" she was willing to fight for her music and buy her catalogues but Scott still went and sold it to SB. This could also refer to a situation of fighting with a lover, a pointless fight that leads nowhere and leaves you drained. Something like The Great War or You're Losing Me.
"This has frozen my ground" -> all these situations, the betrayal, the sleepless night, the fight, left her exhausted. Taylor usually describes difficult situation as dying and when the ground freezes, everything that growns on it dies. The thing about this line, especially when you put it with "a red rose grew up out of ice frozen ground" gives a sense of hope. The ice could melt, she could heal!
I think the chorus is completely about Joe. The "give me a reason one" could and is probably about suicide but also "give me a reason to stay in this relationship" -> "If I would've known how sharp the pieces were you'd crumble into, I might have let them lay" -> "don't want no other shade of blue but you"
"My best laid plan, your sleight of hand" refers to Scott and Karlie -> she laid out a perfect plan (to buy her music, for her friendship with K) and they destoryed it with their lies and secrets. And it refers to Joe -> "I had some tricks up my sleeves" "what if I told you I'm a mastermind" "you had some tricks up your sleeves" and could also be about him betraying her. If his love's a hoax, then he led her on.
"You know I left a part of me back in New York" -> most of Taylor and Karlie's friendship happened in New York, the beginning of Taylor and Joe's relationship happened in New York ("back in forth from New York" Cornelia Street "your heartbeat on the High Line"). Tbh I wish I could elaborate about this lyric beyond the parallels, but I can't come up with anything.
"You know the hero died so what's the movie for?" -> about Karlie and Scott. They betrayed her, they "killed" her, so what's the point in trying to keep their relationship with her? "Yes I got your letter....I don't need your closure."
The rest of the bridge is just: you knew my darkest secrets, I showed you all my scars, I told you how painful it was and you still hurt me this is so much more painful. The thing that gets me about this bridge is that she isn't even angry, she's just saying "fyi, this hurt more than anything I've experienced before"
"You knew you won so what's the point of keeping score?" Is very much about a fight in a relationship ("I didn't know you were keeping count, but OH you were keeping count") -> you've killed me, what's the point of twisting the knife even more?
The outro is also about Joe. She calls him her "only one" again. "My kingdom's come undone" -> Castles Crumbling. In light of peace (previous song) and Taylor and Joe's relationship this line is so intersting "my only one, my kingdom's come undone" -> my life is a wreck, am I still worth it? Is it still enough?
"My broken drum, you have beaten my heart" -> so I actually think she's calling him her broken drum and there's a sense of irony in the fact he managed to make her heart beat ("do I really have to tell you how he brought me back to life?") Which is also why the next lines are "don't want no other shade of blue but you // no other sadness in the world would do") he's also struggling with his mental health, yet he holds her together. He's the reason to keep going, he and his sadness are the answer to screaming "give me a reason" on the cliffside.
i want y'all to know that when you start connecting things to renegade, or reference taylor's "game" theme, i start shaking like an excited chihuahua fjaksdl.
also, omg you added a third layer of meaning to that broken drum line. i always thought it was a double entendre: you broke my heart, and you won me over. and with the drum line, it could also mean: you brought me back to life. oh man. what a beautiful line.

another one!!! I love these.
My fav playlist rn is the playlist for my series The Wrong Way........

Animal, Badflower: Honestly feels like Joel's inner monologe, the complex feelings he has with little one and reality.
Innocent, Taylor Swift: Little one to Joel and Tommy, she sees the good in them
Boston, Augustana: Little One attempts to flee to Boston for safety from Joel. In the happy end, this is where she, tommy, caleb, june, maura, jack, zach and lorenzo settle.
My tears richochet: as i rewrite this series in novel form, the line "stolen lullaby" used as the title for the new book. The death imagery. "I swear I loved you till my dying day"
Dandelion, Kasey Musgraves: Little One realziing tommy wont save her. Really could be applied to any of the men in her life failing to help her.

Death is a recurring theme in Taylor's songs whenever she's going through something difficult it feels like she's dying. reputation is about her being resurrected and rising stronger than before, in my tears richochet she is a ghost hunting the town the person who betrayed her, "you know there's many different ways that you can kill the one you love // do I really have to tell you how he brought me back to life?" and it's so painful that this is where her mind goes in these situations and it's worse to hear her say that, yeah, she rose up from the dead, she does it all the time, but...she's so tired of dying.
