Character Intro: Ascalaphus (Kingdom of Ichor)

Nicknames- My boy by Acheron

Age- 17 (immortal)

Location- The Underworld

Personality- He's a broody yet eccentric young god who loves intellectual pursuits, gothic aesthetics, & a deep appreciation for classic literature and art. He's currently single.

He has the standard abilities of a god. His other powers/abilities include limited chlorokinesis (as it pertains to plants & flowers native to the Underworld), limited necromancy, being able to communicate with/shapeshift into a screech owl, limited umbrakinesis (shadow manipulation), and limited hydrokinesis (as it pertains to the waters of his father's river).

Ascalaphus is the only child of his parents- Acheron (Titan god of pain) & Orphne, a lampade.

He lives with his parents at their mansion in the Underworld. Ascalaphus' room is on the third floor. The bedroom door is built out of blackwood & there's also a terrace where he can overlook his father's river. The flooring is black marble while the walls are brimstone- covered in posters of his favorite bands, singers, movies, and deities. Instead of a laptop, there's an antique typewriter. In his room there's a simple trundle bed covered in dark blue satin pillows & black quilts, white onyx shelves for his book collection, as well as his blue-black iCHOR Tech wireless speaker that's automatically connected to Musify.

Ascalaphus is his father's twin with their olive skin, brown-black eyes, and facial features with the only difference being their frames. Acheron has a lean muscular build while his son has a bit more muscle. He feels like his mother feels left out because she doesn't look like them with her brilliant dark blue eyes, dark obsidian skin, and thick curly hair.

He's fluent in Latin.

He keeps his ink black hair short & shaggy.

Ascalaphus has a few tattoos- large owl wings on his back, a pair of dark blue eyes (dedicated to his mom) on the inside of his left wrist, a skull surrounded by black dahlias on his right arm, and the quote "What nourishes me destroys me" written in latin on his left pec. His good friend Achlys (goddess of the death mist, poison, misery, & sadness) did the tattoos.

A go-to drink for him is beer. He also likes red wine, pomegranate brandy, his dad's jallab, his mom's homemade blackberry iced tea, ginger ale, hot chocolate, black tea, mineral water, and cola.

Ascalaphus primarily writes in cursive.

For breakfast he'll typically go to a corner store to get a sausage, egg, & cheese on a hero on toasted rye bread. If he's gonna be on time for school, he'll have a bowl of steel cut oats topped with dark chocolate chips and maple syrup, a bowl of Earthly Harvest raisin crunch cereal, or his mom's omelette- added with black olives, mushrooms, & ghost peppers.

Ascalaphus loves listening to classical, synth pop, folk, rock, heavy metal, rap, and death metal music. His favorite musical artists to listen to are Moros (god of doom), O, & the death metal rap band Death Theater- comprising of Hades, Charon (Ferryman of the Underworld), his friend Hypnos (god of sleep), and Thanatos (god of death). He also thinks that Pale Blu isn't too bad either.

He's currently a freshman at Polydegmon University, the most prestigious college in the Underworld. Ascalaphus has a full ride- a four year scholarship, thanks in part to his father as well as the king. He doesn't live on campus, an agreed compromise with his parents. Even though it's too early to declare a major, Ascalaphus is thinking about majoring in botany or art history.

Thus far his favorite class has been his gothic literature class taught by his professor- a lampade named Ms. Whiteveil. The sound of her velvet smooth voice while she reads poems and short passages automatically calms him.

He loves snacking on ash plum flavored gummy spiders. He also likes spicy mushroom flavored kettle cooked potato chips & black anise licorice twists.

Ascalaphus has a job of sorts. He tends to the garden of the king of the Underworld, Hades (god of the dead). The orchard is primarily filled with black dahlias, frost orchids, black thorned roses, and shadow blossoms. He actually likes working in the garden. It's one of the few moments where Ascalaphus is alone with his thoughts for self-reflection. He also doesn't mind the company of the king. Hades will bring him a small cup of dark roast coffee or will lend Ascalaphus a book from his extensive library.

He also earns extra money by picking up groceries for Geras (god of old age) & by dog-sitting Cerberus sometimes.

There's a small restaurant downtown in Plouton Square that makes the best jjajangmyeon (noodles & diced pork in black bean sauce). It's a frequent takeout order for him.

All though Ascalaphus loves his parents, he feels like they're keeping him on a tight leash, especially his father. They didn't even want him to live on campus in a dorm and they especially don't want him to leave or travel out of the Underworld to any of the other realms- Olympius in particular. The Realm of Darkness is all he ever knows and Ascalaphus just wants the chance to experience something new, something different.

At school his social circle consists of cyclopes named Osric, Sybil, & Quintessa (Tessa for short), a harpy named Xerxes, a lampade named Azura (a botany major), as well as mortals named Caspian (a art history major), Rosalind, and Venetia.

Ascalaphus in undecided about whether or not to join the University's fraternity. Osric is a member.

Outside of school he's real good friends with Theodon (god of reality, uncertainty, & fate). They hang out together all the time. They smoke weed sometimes (through use of a Stygian Iron bong) & Ascalaphus will invite Theo to play basketball with him, Osric, Xerxes, and Caspian every weekend at Shadowstone Park. Theodon even tagged along to Ascalaphus' first college party!

He really liked going to the film premier of Blooddancer with Theodon. Ascalaphus even got to briefly meet the director of the film Keres (goddess of violent death). The photo of them meeting is framed & on his dresser. He also saved the ticket stubs!

In the pantheon he's also friends with Despoina (goddess of the arcadian mysteries, frost, winter, & shadows).

Also in the pantheon Ascalaphus respects and admires Nyx (goddess of the night) Erebus (god of darkness), as well as his "honorary" aunts & uncles, the other Underworld river deities- Phlegethon (Titan god of fire), Lethe (Titaness of forgetfulness, oblivion, & concealment), Styx (Titaness of hatred), and his godfather Cocytus (Titan god of wailing & lamentation).

He also admires Favian (god of philosophy) & is a fan of his steampunk historical fantasy book series The Machinery of Alchemists.

The iCHOR Tech soundproof headphones are great when Ascalaphus is working on an assignment or blocking out the sounds of his parents' lovemaking.

Sometimes (without his parents knowing), Ascalaphus will travel out-of-realm to Olympius to pick up Theodon from school. He pretends not to care as Theo drones on and on about a fellow schoolmate Heimarmene (Marnie) (goddess of shared fate). One day while Ascalaphus was waiting for Theo where he noticed him walking down the school's steps with Marnie and another girl. He thought she looked like winter's light with her flawless pale skin and shimmery silver eyeshadow on her eyelids. Her smile was just as bright as she tucked away strands of her short bouncy golden light brown hair behind her hair. When Ascalaphus asked Theo about her when he got in the car, he said that she was Marnie's best friend Eiresione (Ren) (goddess of offerings).

His favorite frozen treat is dark chocolate ice cream topped with pomegranate syrup, dark chocolate chips, and whipped cream.

Aside from wanting to freely travel to Olympius, Ascalaphus also wants to check out the Electric Wonderland music festival after looking it up online.

His favorite dessert is his mom's black rum cake. She makes it every year for his birthday and on the Winter Solstice.

Ascalaphus is not ashamed about the fact that he's still a virgin. He wants to wait until he's emotionally connected with someone to have sex. He did make out with an empousa named Elidi at the college party.

His all time favorite meal is his dad's hearty lamb stew with saffron rice and his mom's scorched chicken.

In his free time Ascalaphus enjoys playing video games, reading, skateboarding, writing, snowboarding, gardening, skiing, ice hockey, cooking (with his parents), ink painting, going to museums, chess, listening to music, and going to the cinema. He's also been getting into photography.

Hades profile

Profile description for my version of Hades for a webcomic I'm hoping to develop.

Hades has a predominantly sardonic personality who speaks very sarcastically with very little filter as to what’s on his mind, often not caring for restraining his own temper. Holds a lot of discontent towards his younger brothers, particularly towards Zeus with his hedonistic lifestyle and loose morals, though Poseidon’s pragmatism can often leave the two of them at odds as well. He possesses the most godly power amongst the three brothers, even before gaining the power over life and death, but he's frankly too tired to take advantage of it. For the most part he seems to only hold concern for Persephone, Macaria, Orthros and Cerberus, for whom he actually shows deep adoration and compassion for, Thanatos and Hypnos, who have worked for him since they were young so they’re quasi-adopted by him, and Hermes, Melinoe, and Zagreus, whom he seemed to raise more than Zeus ever did. The rest of the pantheon, both Olympian and Chthonic alike, could screw off for all he cares. Mortals, both dead and living, he’s pretty impartial to, but believes in acknowledging when a mortal shows themselves to be exceptional, and can often show kindness and generosity to them, despite their inherent fear of him. He is however quick to show his wrath if a mortal tries cheating death, or if they just died through a completely asinine method. 

Unlike the seas and Mount Olympus, which were far easier realms for his brothers to conquer, the Underworld was the native home many Primordials who were none too happy to see that after the tyranny of Kronos was toppled, one of his sons walked into their realm, declaring himself their “king”. However, one primordial, Nyx, saw the potential in Hades to be a sufficient ruler after watching him fight in the war against the Titanmachy, so she appealed to the others to give Hades a chance to rule the realm. Taking to Nyx’s appeal, Chaos wrote up a lengthy contract that Hades was to adhere to by the letter lest he be cast out permanently. Most of this contract is never going to be referred to directly, with exception to the clause that dictates the time he is allotted to leave the realm.

Hades, the undersigned, is permitted to enter the other realms, but will do so only on borrowed time. He will be permitted up to two weeks' time to wander the other realms as he sees fit, at the end of which he is required to return to the Underworld, and is unable to leave again for six weeks. If the undersigned does not return to the Underworld within the time limit, the realm will take it upon itself to return him immediately.

The long time he’s spent underground has left his skin extremely pale, which makes the scars all over his body left from when Kronos consumed him really stand out. His hair normally falls naturally around his face, but when he’s angered, it flares up and almost appears to be made of blue and white fire. When adapting his look from the old Grecian style to a more modern one, he adopts an Italian mafioso aesthetic, wearing a lot of suits and dress attire, gloves and black jewelry.

When Illusion first showed up in the Steve Saga, he revealed that he knew a lot about Sabre despite barely interacting with him. Because of that, he reminded me of websites like Facebook and Google: websites that know more about you than you are comfortable with. So then I thought about stereotypical anthropomorphized designs of websites that artists draw (usually as a white person in a business suit or sci-fi outfit). I got a lot of inspiration from that, hence why I decided to make Illusion wear a suit.

Illusion also reminded me of a detective: trying to figure stuff out for Galaxy. I wanted to incorporate detective-like cues into his design, like a detective coat and even a smoking pipe (that would emit 0s and 1s instead of smoke). But those didn’t make it into my current design of him. Long story short: I wanted my design of Illusion to look smort, so I decided to give him glasses. Because he’s a smort boi who spends a lot of time learning.

After figuring out the vibe I wanted to give Illusion, I went to figure out how to combine that vibe with his Minecraft skin, creating the design you see above. I came up with this grayscale suit and coat, where his coat has colorful inside lining with a puzzle-like pattern, to make it like his MC skin. Also, I thought the puzzle motif fit his character well: he’s trying to figure out how to make sense of the world, or “put the pieces together.”

After figuring out his outfit, I added and made tweaks to make him more like his MC skin and personality. Colorful hair and accessories to contrast his monochrome outfit and deep voice. Dark skin to contrast the white coat. Heterochromia because why not. Pink glasses because they’re FABULOUS (though in my first drawings of him, I drew him with red glasses, lol).

Made him short and scrawny to emphasize that his greatest strengths are from his mind and to optimize his salty gremlin energy.

“Stress, why did you give him a ponytail?” It’s because of a very specific, random headcanon that I love so much. But before I explain the headcanon, I need to give context: I feel like Illusion developed a bad rep for copying other characters’ aesthetics. He stole the Rainbow Town look and created the Illusion Town to insult Sabre and Rainbow Steve. He absorbed Galaxy Steve AND made himself look like a galaxy. And there’s a reason why some fans call him a Hypno Steve knock-off; they have similar powers, similar salty levels, and the same voice actor.

So with that context in mind, I thought it would be funny to headcanon that “stealing other people’s aesthetics” is an actual personality trait he has.

Thus, I started headcanoning that Illusion “stole” Alex’s ponytail-over-shoulder hairstyle because he secretly thinks her hairstyle’s cool. But being the anxious disaster he is, he grew paranoid that Steves would accuse him of stealing Alex’s hairstyle. So, when he stole Alex’s powers, created the illusion, and brainwashed Alex into becoming his minion, he decided to block Alex’s memories about her hair. He decided to make Alex think that HE was the one who invented the ponytail-over-shoulder look, and SHE was copying HIM, instead of the other way around. It’s random, insulting, and petty, but I love this headcanon so much.

Also, Illusion probably grew his hair that long because he works so hard and never learned that barbers are a thing that exist, and there were no barbers in Galaxy Steve’s mind/out of the timeline.

Reality Steve

As for Reality Steve....he was pretty hard for me to figure out. I didn’t have a calculated design process for him.

I wanted him to have a wilder style than Illusion since he’s all like “I WANT FREEDOM. I WANT TO DO WHATEVER I WANT, INCLUDING BEING A WILD VILLAIN.” So basically, not a suit and no ponytail. Hair must be too wild to be put into a ponytail. I originally wanted him to be in a glam rock kind of outfit with a galaxy cape but then I thought nah.

So what did I do next? I just brainstormed a bunch of casual outfits I wanted to draw Reality in, imagined what they would look like in my head, and see what would fit the best. After a few months of thinking, I eventually decided on the outfit I wanted him to have: flannel, jeans, hoodie, and sneakers. Instead of a cape, the hoodie will have the galaxy pattern inside.

Unfortunately, no puzzle motif for this design, but I guess that’s kinda fitting since Reality Steve has more stuff figured out than Illusion Steve (even though he’s more on edge than Illusion, heh). Plus, the flannel pattern and the jeans texture already help pay homage to that checkered-pattern Reality’s MC skin has.

I debated on if Reality would wear glasses or not. I was so close to deciding he wouldn’t wear glasses, but then after seeing so much people adoring Illusion’s glasses in RRFF, I decided “Both? Both. Both Both is good.” So he sometimes wears glasses, but can’t wear them all the time or else he’ll get a headache.

suna rintarou, son of hypnos

-let’s say you’re out for a mission in order to fulfill a prophecy. a line from the poem the oracle recited sounded a little ominous, having mentioned returning to the doors of death and all, but you still took the quest anyways

-suna’s the type of guy that never meddles with anyone’s situation, but as a son of hypnos, he gets notified when someone’s having a troubled dream. while he does keep to himself, it worried him that your nightmares have been particularly terrorizing as of recent, and it hits him.

-you, and your crew, are most likely trapped in the underworld. that’s what the line in the prophecy meant. he approaches the head counselor about it, and soon of enough a few of the hypnos kids were tasked to meddle with the dreams you and your crew were experiencing. suna was the one assigned to you.

-when you made it back to camp half blood, he was relieved to say the least. you thanked him for his help, and if you think that would be the end of your connection with him, you’re wrong. he finds himself to be really protective over you. he’s seen the worst of you (well, your subconscious at least) and he gets this urge to watch over you

-soon enough you two find yourself falling for each other. he doesn’t know how to approach you about his feelings, so he sort of just.. barges into your dreams, and takes you into his dreams in order to get the message across. his dreams are just, really vivid scenes of the two of you as a couple

-you get the hint, and you tell him you like him in the dream too. when the two of you wake up, you’re making a beeline straight for each other.

-suna knows that even if you are a child of the underworld, that doesn’t mean you aren’t still carrying baggage from the time you had to spend there. no mortal should have threaded the grounds of tartarus, and yet here you are. if ever you’re up late at night because you can’t sleep from night terrors, he’ll sneak into your cabin (throwing sleep spells at the people patrolling if needed) and help you with your problems. you don’t need to tell him to hug you, he does it himself and pulls you to bed

-the friendlier spirits you talk to often visit his dreams to tell him really dumb, albeit cute things like “you know she’s completely enamored with you. she’s in loveee”. and suna just tells them to tell you that he feels the same because a) he just wants a peaceful dream and b) he can’t get that when a ghost with a blasted eye is teasing him about you. (the spirits tell you more than they should, including every detail about the dream suna was having of you. was that really a wedding band on both of your fingers or were they just playing with you?)

You said a while back that while Supergiant games (Bastion, Transistor, Hades) was mostly okay, you had some words about them. I was curious as to what those words were, since Hades' full release is soon.

okay. alright. ive been playing hades lately so i definitely want to give my two cents (or dollars by the size this is gonna get). but let’s go Step by Step

the good: i want to throw a whole Endorsement over supergiant games with the art direction and its characters, which is what keeps me coming back again and again, and what i can assume is that most people are attracted to. 

gameplaywise, they have a Format they stick to which has become their staple, not to their detriment but to their advantage, like... gameplay tropes, so to speak, that they stick to (such as the addition of special conditions that give a disadvantage in exchange for more long-term rewards)

i fucking adore that they take one concept per game, go for it, and when they’re done they are Done; they don’t bother with sequels, they don’t want to run things to the ground and i fucking respect that. They have their themes, and they stick to them (to various degrees of success).

that said, like every piece of media, they are not perfect and this has to be analysed and spoken about

CONTENT WARNINGS: genocide and ethnic cleansing, antisemitism, misogyny, homophobia, suicide, and mentions of incest, and a general Spoilers warning

bastion: touches on ethnic cleansing, and not in a way i’d say is satisfactory. our narrator and one of our Sympathetic characters is one of the men who worked on a world-ending weapon meant to use against the Ura (a group of people coded as East Asian) which after a bit of googling is literally called “the final solution” if there was ever a war between the Ura and the Cael (who feel like rly tan white people to me). jesus fucking CHRIST.

we also meet more Ura other than our two named characters and we have to kill most of them. so that fucking blows.

the game tries for “being a genocidal monster will get you fucked up and blown up” which duh, but i feel we shouldn’t have had a person responsible for war crimes be one of our friends no matter how bad he feels about the whole thing, or the people victim of war crimes become villains in the latter half of the game. zia’s father could’ve taken ruck’s role ez pz.

transistor: the weakest of their games, imo; the lore and writing are fairly flimsy and i did not come out feeling Satisfied, especially because it had this rly good build-up that did not pay off. not to mention... their villains? 3/4 were gay people. lol. two married guys (not even explicit, you only realize by their shared last names) and the ps*cho lesbian trope (iirc she wanted to kill the protagonist’s lover or something). the female protagonist also ends up killing herself to live forever in a digital paradise with her dead lover. it’s. god. 

very Aesthetic, GORGEOUS music, interesting gameplay; had potential, i do not feel like it lived up to it at least as far as the story goes.

pyre: now this one. this one’s BEEFY. where transistor felt flimsy, pyre is rich; lots to sink your teeth into, rich in lore and loveable characters, again w the beautiful music, themes of cooperation and togetherness. my favorite of the cast is volfred sandalwood, the only Black (or, well, Black-coded) revolutionary i’ve ever seen portrayed with this amount of sympathy.

onto the bad: they literally have a Class of character named “Savage”; there’s the “mystical mentally ill person” trope; there is an overwhelming amount of explicit m/f pairs (one of them being. a romance that formed in a single day and then both of the characters were somehow willing to risk it all for each other? PLEASE) while the only hints of gayness are... hints. especially when Jodariel (another of my favs) is teased to have feelings for the player regardless of gender then only gets an ending with a male character with whom she has nothing in common 🙃

hades: and now. this one. music: gorgeous. character designs: spectacular (aphrodite is straight up naked but it’s so... natural and casual, it doesn’t feel sexualized at all). voice acting amazing. character interactions charming and endearing. as a greek mythology nerd, it was nice to see them go for the obscure shit like Zagreus at all, NOT portray Persephone and Hades as a loving couple, AND portrayed the gods as the bunch of petty assholes (some more benevolent than others) that they are. imo they’re too generous with their portrayal of achilles but i’ll allow it.

and finally... it seems all those criticisms about having all the gay characters hidden in the shadows paid off, cuz we got (aside of patroclus and achilles) a bisexual polyamorous protag. Holy Shit! and it’s not even playersexual, romance whomever you want shit without the routes recognizing each other: he explicitly talks about how he’s thinking abt them both (though it’s like “yeah usually mortals take one lover but gods love many huh” polyamory is a human thing too bro!!!!!)

and this is where it all goes, well, at least vaguely downhill lol. ok so the incest warning i gave up there? well. it’s not... outright incestuous. but it has some ugly implications. i want to emphasize: the characters never refer to each other as siblings, nor do they treat each other as such (thanatos, in fact, only recognizes hypnos as his brother, and megaera only sees the other furies as her sisters), but they were all raised by the same woman, Nyx... zagreus and thanatos even grew up together (im assuming megaera didnt meet zagreus until he was fully grown).

this is complicated even worse by the fact that they tried to trick zagreus into believing Nyx was his mother. he realized pretty early on this was not true but like... adoptive mothers, anyone? granted i can believe that bc of the attempt at deception that probably ruptured any attempt at actual familial closeness, and it’s not like hypnos and thanatos saw zagreus as their brother at any point, so they were p much aware of the truth too. with the fact that thanatos even looks like goth miles edgeworth (im not kidding you can google him up right now its literally edgeworth in a cowl) i rly feel they were aiming for Childhood Friend Anime Rival Man than the “surprise kiss bc ur not actually related <3″ shit. zagreus never once refers to nyx as his mother in-game, and also refers to thanatos and hypnos as her sons, never his brothers.

so yeah, like. if one’s feeling generous, zagreus and thanatos are more of a “my father is emotionally closed off and neglects me so my best friend’s mother basically raised me” kind of situation... just pulled off in, perhaps, the worst way possible (why didnt they just say Zagreus was told Hekate was his mom, that’s such an easy fix? or that he was born of nobody other than Hades??? [gestures at athena])

but then, the gods. aaaaaaaahhhhahahahh the gods. demeter shows up! and she calls zeus, hades and poseidon... her foster-brothers. which somehow would make the persephone thing less fucking awful, apparently. they really. really really did not need to do that. she could’ve just said “my fellow gods” or whatever. or my “god-brothers” or something, to pretend it was just a weird god alliance thing??? i dont know but implying that foster family isn’t family is just... bro, the dynamics still exist.

Don’t Like That.

i even contacted supergiant games over this. they reassured me they were even trying to avoid the incest of the original myths bc they didn’t want to mess with such a heavy theme. i believe them... but i really think they didn’t think this through. compared to something like fire emblem fates this is nearly benign, but the implications don’t look good :/

tl;dr of the tl;drs: i admire their artistic philosophy and the heavy emphasis on fresh gameplay, characters and their relationships; i appreciate that it seems that they listen to criticism?; i don’t appreciate that they didn’t think to at LEAST talk to adoptees when making a game about family.

As sons of the goddess of victory, they have always been very competitive with everyone and most of all with each other, but simply assumed it was because they're sibling and siblings fight a lot.

They are always on opposite teams in capture the flag, because they either get picked as captains or the captains know better than to try to put them on the same team.

They both really care about winning and are very sore losers, but they each have their own idea on what winning is.

Simply put, Roman believes your victory doesn't count if you played dirty to get it or hurt someone along the way when you could have avoided that.

But Remus believes that victory is the only thing that matters and that it only counts if youre willing to do anything to achieve it.

Virgil Blackstone, Son of Hecate:

When he started learning Latin for the aesthetic, he did not expect it to end with him accidentally raising the dead.

He loves his house and his half siblings and he loves practicing magic.

He decided to entirely embrace the Goth Witch Aesthetic™ and he looks amazing tbh.

Hates capture the flag but actually loves sparring as a form of stress relief. He just hates competition.

Thomas Sanders, Son of Apollo:

Is really good at the singing and healing, like amazing at it. He's just okay at archery though. Not much worse than any other Apollo child but also not much better.

Is a precious bean that must be protected at all costs. Mess with him and you'll have half the camp after you.

Is very capable of defending himself but is more likely to apologize to you if you step on him. However if you hurt his friends, its over for you bitches.

Remington Pax, Son of Hypnos:

Fucking lazy as fuck. Sleeps all day, hardly ever leaves his cabin. Astral projects in his sleep just so he wont have to actually talk to people.

Deep down super insecure about his abilities and whether he even belongs in this camp, but he deals with that by ignoring it and sleeping more. Please help him.

Ethan Conroy, son of Athena:

Suave, smooth talking bastard. Always has a plan. Good luck finding out what it is though.

Earned the nickname Deceit by hustling the shit out of everyone and pretty much always getting away with it.

Loves snakes and pretends to not be as afraid of spiders as the rest of his cabin mates but they terrify him.

Virgil knows this and adorns himself with spider web patterns and carries his pet tarantula around whenever he doesn't wanna deal with Deceit's crap.

Only has one gray eye because of his heterochromia.

Patton Fortier, son of Zeus:

Patton, reading up on his dad later the same day he was told he was the son of Zeus: please just one story where you're not an asshole cmon please ffs I'm begging.

He does find exactly one but it's not very comforting compared to everything else he's ever done. Whenever he hears about something bad Zeus has done hes just like "that's what I thought you'd say you dumb fucking dad!"

Loves that he can fly and sometimes uses his weather control ability to literally brighten up his friends' cloudy day. Sometimes his emotions get out of control and the weather around him changes accordingly.

Doesn't really like the lightning powers but uses them if he thinks it can help. They feel kinda weird, like no one should have the power to zap something with a bolt of electricity. Like maybe the fact that Zeus can do it whenever he wants to whoever he wants no matter where they are with absolutely no repercussions is part of why he's such a jerk.

Is too shy to say so but thinks the Gods should maybe be held accountable if they're gonna control the entire planet because there are innocent people getting fucked over because the gods are acting like bratty children.

Logan Roux, Son of Ares:

Thinks his siblings are annoyingly hot headed and thick skulled, and prefers the war strategy side of his father's namesake.

However he is still a child of Ares and he has some issues controlling his temper, which in turn makes everyone around him have the same problem because of his demigod aura of war.

When he really loses his cool he goes full rage mode and destroys everything in his path. This type of anger doesn't happen often because he tends to control and even repress his anger and only has really big outbursts very rarely. It's usually because someone was mean to Patton or Virgil.

Hangs out at the Athena cabin more than his own because Ares children are exhausting to deal with. However not all Athena children are a dream either. Ethan for example, annoys him to no end.

Is really fucking buff without really trying. He loves it even if he acts like he doesn't really care.

Tries to avoid strong emotions in general to try and contain his outbursts.

Emile Picani, Satyr:

Remy's childhood friend, has brought him to camp as soon as possible once his scent started manifesting.

His first official mission though, was Virgil. He got to experience accidental necromancy first hand and help the young demigod fight off a bunch of zombies so he could calm down and undo the spell.

On his next mission, Remy insisted to join and they helped Patton fight a monster. It's a good thing Remy was there because Patton had no intention of killing the monster. He couldn't bring himself to hurt a living being.

After that they get back to camp and introduce Patton to everyone and he immediately gets claimed and everyone is like "fuck!" and he's like what happened?

Emile sighs tiredly. "this is gonna be a long summer..."
