will pretty much go along with whatever you want.. like if you want to watch a disney movie he'll be like i'm completely indifferent on what we watch but as long as it makes u happy

he adoooores when people depend on him so he'd kinda selfishly enjoy that you're on the shier side. he gets to enjoy you while alone/with friends and also gets to have you stick by his side constantly while out and about. the best of both worlds in his eyes.

he'd tease you about it but lovingly<3 would love the contrast between how at ease you were with him in comparison to how timid you'd become whenever you were alone and with strangers. he'd take pity on you and always take charge in social situations, knowing you were a little shy (but he'd still bug you about it afterwards bc he's annoying as shit by nature).

even though he's on the quiet side, he's not shy at all, so he'd think it was cute when you'd ask him to tag along when you went out so that he could do the talking. he's such a straightforward guy, he would not mind at all. would feel like a good and dependable boyfriend any time you asked him this, and would feel even happier knowing you felt so comfortable with him.

You loved sunset drives, and have teased your coworker here about the thrill that even a simple beach drive can bring– enough to corral him into making plans to accompany you sometime and see for himself. Plans anyone else with eyes and a working knowledge of chemistry would call a ‘date’… but clearly neither of you could toughen up and call that what this is. But the fact remains that you of all people convinced the Katsuki Bakugou-the man behind ‘Dynamight’s mask- to go on after-hours ride with you. And he's looking real nice in that helmet...

“First time going for a drive,” you got comfy on your seat- a bit closer to the throttle than you’d  normally be, “Nervous at all?”

“Tch, what do I have to be nervous about? You're not planning to wreck our asses, are you?”

“Suppose that brings us to safety first~” you muttered all the same and passed your rider -Katsuki Bakugou, the man behind ‘Dynamight’s mask- a helmet. He looked it distastefully while you donned yours: a steely blue that matches your current choice in quirk-fueled mech you're both about to set out on. 

“How's this damn thing supposed to fit?!”

You flipped up your visor to him, as you affix your -now backup- helmet to your jaw. 

“That's my newer one. The strap’s on the bottom– other side. Other other side.” Cheeks pushing up and all but confirming a smirk underneath, you poked fun at his expense, “I made sure to remove some of the crucial safety padding inside to make room for that hair of yours. Couldn’t bear to muss that up, yeah?”

A light growl emanated from him as he forced the thing into his head.  You'd done no such thing, of course. But even still, he flipped up the visor to glare at you, only to watch you bat your eyes at him then shut it back into place just as fast. 

The Bluetooth pairing between your helmets failed to hide his soft threat, 

“Shut up, angel eyes..”

 Heard that. 

As casual and in-control as you feel right now, you can't help but hold some nerves yourself… but not about the ride ahead of you. Piloting any kind of bike, car, or war machine that you could manifest with your quirk left you sitting right in the driver's seat and in your element. You loved sunset drives, and have teased your coworker here about the thrill that even a simple beach drive can bring– enough to corral him into making plans to accompany you sometime and see for himself. Plans he agreed to, and showed up ten minutes early to honor. Plans he even texted you about first thing this morning, as if you'd forget.

Plans anyone else with eyes and a working knowledge of chemistry would call a ‘date’… but clearly neither of you could toughen up and call that what this is. 

It's far too fragile and new of a thing to call it that, what you two have been feeling. You pull to each other like a magnet– both on and off the field. Maybe after some 100km/h winds and a healthy adrenaline boost, the sights from Mustafu Bay Bridge can break the ice where your banter and teasing couldn't. 

The constant hum of your quirk warming your body coupled with anticipation of Bakugou mounting the bike behind you brought your hands to drum absently atop the center hub of your bike– right where a gas tank would normally be. 

Now to see what he does with his hands. 

“Now we’re gonna take the freeway up here,” you call back to him, visor still up so he copies to see you better, “but I won't start drifting till you're cool enough with the feel, alright? Just lean into me, nothing shaky. No sudden moves.”

“Yeah yeah yeah.”

“You’ll tap me here if you need me to ease up?”

“Yes, mother.”

You smirked, adjusting your side mirrors, noting how he just flattened his hands on his thighs, aside yours. 

“--And you might have to get fresh with me eventually, ‘Dynamight’. It gets fast…”

“Eugh– none of that.”

You chuckled, but grasped his wrist to show him the inset handles he could hold onto instead of you, if he’d rather. Either way, he'd have to lean forward onto you to reach them at some point. 

But he'd learn that soon enough, because at his chiding for you to ‘get on with it already’, you heeled at the kickstand, pushed off, and forced his chest right onto your back with a grunt. 

This was going to be fun. 

The sky was just now starting to turn its lovely colors from behind the cloud breaks, but light poles and power lines still cut into the view down here by the business district. 

“YOU CAN’T POSSIBLY BE DOING THE SPEED LIMIT, ARE YOU?! EVERYONE’S PASSING US!”

Squinting at his yell over the road noise, you gave the pro hero some grace but also assured him firmly, 

“Call me cautious, hon, but I'm getting up to speed for my ‘backpack’s sake, not mine. And I can hear you just fine. The mic will pick you up~”

“... Oh.”

Giggling yourself, you revved up a few ticks and noted how he held firm to the handles. The first couple lane changes he acclimated like a champ, which gave you confidence to finally reach the top permissible speed. Maybe you could risk another five over, once you got out of city ordinances with those darned speed bump monitors… 

In a few clicks, you'd reach the offramp to the beach expressway, so you checked your mirrors for Bakugou’s face. The helmet he wore was tinted, but not fully opaque like yours. You could see his wary brows as he had his sights locked down onto the passing dashes of your lane, willing you to stay within them while silently stewing over it. 

“You good back there?” Your voice carries through assuring, but with a level of calm to prove to him all was operating fine. 

Brought out of his head, Bakugou flitted his gaze ahead, then down to where you'd tilted your head. Proving you were listening. 

“Yeah. M’good.”

He squeezed his arms in a little, to answer back. A step in the right direction. 

“Knew you'd be a natural,” you praised, earning a proud roll of his arms, “now we’re gonna make this loop, so just turn in with me, like you did before.”

“Got it.”

Rounding the exit, Bakugou admittedly might have pushed his lean too much  at first– not accounting for how much you lean and how much he weighs, so he immediately righted himself with a stiffness. Thankfully, you slow on every one of these to level out the overcorrect. And hey, at least his surprise caused him to latch that left arm around your waist, so that was… not unwelcome. 

Straightening out to the road, he reluctantly returned his hands to where they once were, but settled his posture  down onto your back comfortably.

He truly was doing well. Bakugou takes to new challenges with eagerness that betrays any hesitation. You count on him talking a big game to give you an ease in expectation for most missions you've provided support on. It's cocky, but confident, and oftentimes not without a good bit of truth and experience to back it up. When he calls out to you on patrol, it might be loud and proud, but it comes from a place of valuing teamwork- never once making you feel unappreciated for your services. It’s something he even confessed to you that he had to intentionally learn before entering the workplace. 

‘You shoulda seen me in high school. Pretty much a bully. Y’can't operate as a team that way all the time, though. But here I am- I'm on track to get top ten on the leaderboard according to Jeanist. “Even assholes can get the job done sometimes”– which, YES, is a compliment, by the way! Seems he’s finally thinkin’ better of me and given’ me some respect!’

Gee, can't imagine you being a hothead at all. 

Tell of his talent and accolades are well earned, you have to agree. To the asshole comment, you weren't so sold. Sure, he was harsh and pointed with just about anyone who throws a contrary opinion at him. Bakugou's reputation preceded him for not being the best to gel with.

But for all that bravado, the minute you teamed up after your first joint mission at the agency, you noticed how he cut the edge with you. Most times, he may growl and grunt at worst, but Bakugou usually spoke to you pretty even-keeled. Careful, you might call it. Wouldn’t call it ‘friendly’, but kind enough for you to choose to stick around him: make the offer to him for some company, talk through your routes together under the guise that you need a fresh set of eyes, even seek him out after hours when he opened up the invite to you to come for dinner and drinks with some alumni friends of his. 

…gentle enough for you to get a soft spot for the pro hero you'd have bet six months ago would’ve blown your head off without a second thought. 

Now, that same hero carries his head higher behind you. He’s not obsessed with watching the road anymore, taking comfort enough in your driving so he could watch the flock of geese pass over your left, with a hand rooted on hip for support. 

The thought warmed you, yet you didn't dare speak and break his bubble. Even pros deserved time to hit pause and just clear the head with a drive. That’s just what you loved to do, too.

Your chosen destination was mere minutes away now. Finding yourself slowing and cutting over to the beach access road, Bakugou’s grunts grew uneasy along with the bumps in the road. For a split second you think you should have warned him to ‘watch the rocky bits’, but like all things, he's a trooper and didn't say a word. 

Sliding onto the packed down sand, you adjusted your bike’s wheel type by sense alone to add a bit more traction in order to drive smoothly. With a low hum of acceleration, you were off in no time back to a comfortable speed: ocean to your left, sky ahead, dunes shielding you on your right from the rest of the city nightlife. You leave treads in your dust, but they are soon washed away as the incoming tide chases you. 

It’s here on familiar terrain that you sit up a bit more relaxed, free of asphalt and multi-lane traffic. Most folks must be out having dinner plans, so the beach is yours until the night beach walkers arrive. Flipping your visor up, the wind immediately hit your lashes, but the smell was incredible. Always was. 

You heaved a cleansing breath happily, reveling in the smooth thrum of the bike beneath you- perfect conditions and company. 

“Honest truth? I could get paid pennies for my transport work for all I care,” you confessed over a cry of some gulls, “--as long as I have enough time to get away for views like this.” You swung a relaxed arm out to the waves foaming alongside, “This–  is worth more than all the big bucks.”

You felt Bakugou’s hum on your back before you heard it. He mimicked your gesture too, making waves through the air as childlike as you could picture. From your rearview, you caught him smiling across the sea to the horizon line. 

He agrees with ease, “Yeah. Sure is a sight,” 

“Worth the wait, huh?”

Bakugou centered back, checking for you in the rearview mirror. With a little jerk of his head (a swallow), that gentler, gravelly voice he kept for you answered back, 

“Definitely.”

That sweet spot flipped in your stomach, even as his brows firmed up again and flicked one up at you,

“Bout time, I mean. You were holding out on me.”

There it was again: that pathetic pulse in your chest at his brand of teasing. 

Taking a breather from the constant exertion of your abilities, you cut all energy off to the fueling of the mech- letting it coast to a full stop after boosting up the ramp to the fishing overlook. It took you a couple manual strides of your feet to get you close to the edge before kicking the locking gear in place. 

Bravery you typically reserve for villain encounters and public speaking is summoned from your lips. You’re proud of yourself, but no less jittery inside,

“Tell ya a secret.”

“Oh yeah?”

You took off your helmet, but dare not look back. 

“If I ever take a hiatus from hero work,” you share, “I wanna figure out how I can drift on water. I already started making some notes after that Support Course workshop. Imagine how sick that'd be, right? Could do a lot of good with that. Hybrid water rescues, marine chases..”

“--If you don't get nabbed by sharks first,” Bakugou fired back with his helmet off now to match.

You had to laugh at the danger he presented, 

“Really? A quirk-ridden world and a villain presence more prominent than any generation before ours– and the idea of sharks scares you?”

Bakugou caught your stare defensively, “Sharks? Hell no! Death by sharks? What a dumbass way to die. I'd rather go out with-”

“--with a bang. Of course you would.”

To your sassy quip back, Bakugou simply smirked, laid a boldly set foot on either side of the bike to steady himself– and absolutely tickled the daylights out of your sides. 

After a decent punishment, you only settled your shrieks as he switched from assault to detainment, pulling you tight to his chest. 

He’s not actually offended; not by the way he’s locked his hand solidly around his own wrist to keep you in place.

“Got a smart mouth, you know that?” Bakugou snarked in your ear.

You do consider yourself a decent personality hire, after all. 

“I think it makes me fun at parties~”

“...You’re a good driver though.”

Even softer, you give a work of thanks. Bakugou doesn’t say more and doesn’t let go.

The sight of the sun finally started slipping out of the skyline, a wash of gold and pink and orange surrounding you both. At this time of year, the last bit of  setting sun isn’t enough to warm you through, even outfitted in leather and thick cordura. The only bits of exposed skin you showed were where your jacket opened to flash your shirt collar, and the tops of your hands your gloves couldn't cover– hands Bakugou was currently keeping warm as he comfortably held you. At rest for once, you wonder. 

“This is.. really nice,” the blond shared after a few centering breaths. 

From your angle, you couldn't really look back to see him. You tried, but his grip tightened slightly, so you sensed he was likely holding you this way on purpose. 

Giving in, you agreed and laid back. After all, you didn't think he got this sentimental unless he was truly relaxed– a marvel itself. 

Letting out a soothed breath yourself, you leaned inward, towards his neck, “Really is.”

“Mean it, y'know.” He tried again, “Not just gettin’ us out here. You're…  really damn good at your job. The agency’s lucky you’re the one who’s always there for pickups. I almost ate it with that landing last week, if you hadn't caught me in your– truck bed– tank.. whatever that  speed demon thing was you made–”

‘Inst-Transit’ was quite the desired quirk for heroes in evac-centered roles, like yours. What set you apart was the ‘razzle-dazzle’ you offered in that you could make your own custom vehicles; not just manipulate current cars to your will. No two were truly alike and could be altered even in the moment; the vehicle you set out at the start of the mission could very well have morphed over the course of the operation and come out completely different by the end.

Years upon years taught you all manner of land mechs to model your rides after, months more to change them mid-mission to accommodate transporting heroes four times your weight– plus any civilians you pick up along the way.

“-and can't forget how you caught up to that runner in just two blocks, too. Damn.”

For Bakugou to compliment you meant more than surface-deep flattery. He knows the inner technicality of how you perform. How you think. His words carry weight.

“Well, that’s awfully high praise. You’re not just trying to keep me in your good graces so I take you back to the office safely?”

Your ‘backpack’ bristles, but doesn’t shift away to let go, 

“M’tryna compliment you, dummy.”

Bakugou’s trademark temper sufficiently tested, you eased his embarrassment.

“Oh then, my apologies. Thank you~”

This satisfied him enough to take another cleansing breath of salt air. You studied the railing with particular interest, 

“--honestly, I'm just flattered you said yes to this.”

Bakugou tips his lips close to your crown, speaking more to your hairline than the space over your shoulder, “D’you think I'd say no to you?”

“I.. didn't know what you'd say,” you reasoned, “I mean, you are incredibly nice to me. We work decently together. I normally just consider myself lucky to be in that portion of the populace who you don't wanna blow up, and just roll along with it, but… this sorta thing… outside of work? The more I look at it, it’s– not just taking a break like we do all the time. I dunno. Could be reading things wrong, but it– definitely feels more and more like a-”

“A date.”

“Well… yeah.”

“... do you wanna call this a date.”

Your position was brutal- not being able to look at him. But looking down in your few moments of thought gave you your answer:

Bakugou’s thumb was caressing that little pocket of skin at your wrist. His pride’s keeping his mouth shut, but his powerful hands are silently swiping. Nudging you to ‘please say yes’. 

He needed you to simply say the word, it seems. 

“...I sure hope so, ‘Mr. Dynamight.”

Above you, your pro hero hid his reaction– but not the smile in his voice, 

“Katsuki. When it’s just you and me.”

A fluttering exhale left you. Upon hearing his first name (soon to be added to as your phone contact by a comically horrendous candid you already have of him), you’re now content to just rest against him; out of sight and up against his built chest. 

“N’I guess that means only one thing left to seal the deal, then.”

Before you could ask what that meant, Bakugou chipped your chin up and into place for him to set a firm, doting kiss to your forehead– before asking, 

“Hungry?”

Sufficiently charmed and encouraged at how the night’s going, your smirk turned much sweeter now, “I could eat~”

Crimson eyes softened at your sated reaction, proud of himself no doubt.  

“You get us there, I'm paying. No buts.”

“Yeah, okay.”

Your helmets donned, you set your sights further down the beach for the least populated popcorn shrimp stand you could manage, and backed up the bike with careful steps. 

Bakugou held onto your hips easily now… 

“Hey,” Katsuki called through the helmet, “Whatm’I supposed to call you when we’re off hours, huh?”

You shook your head, still beside yourself that you have the ‘Lord Explosion Murder God’ at your heels and hanging on your every word:

“I think if you call me anything other than ‘dummy’, I’m gonna assume you hate me!”

That got a belly laugh out of Katsuki.

“HAH! ‘Pretty Thing’ it is.”

okay so i've had this headcanons for a while!!! my headcanon is that two-bit is an ex-soc and left that lifestyle after smth traumatic happened between him and his soc friends. afterwards he started becoming more distant from them and then one day he runs into sodapop and steve and they adopt him into their greaser group. i can see him knowing a lot about a bunch of different soc people and relating to johnny a lot after he got jumped by the socs. just for a little treat: i also think he wouldn't tell anyone and excuse knowing so much as the fact he goes to a school with a major soc population, and that when he starts being stalked by one of his ex-soc friends, he'd just pretend not to know and keep acting all SILLY billy 😋 (also if you're into this headcanon, feel free to add your own thoughts or ideas or how you think the gang would react if they found out or how things would be different, anything you can think of!!! :3)

Two has always kinda had a soft side to me (mostly bc of the movie, when he was watching Ponyboy). Despite liking the rumbles and stuff he really hates the excessively violent things the socs do to the greasers, so maybe? there was some kind of incident where he decided enough was enough.

Imagine Soda and Steve's first encounter w/ him was them catching him shoplifting at the DX 💀 But he def made them laugh or smth before they beat the hell out of him 😭

As for the gang finding out... I think they'd all kinda know. For the first few weeks he joined they gave him all kinds of crap (Dally calling him "Mr. Supersoc" and stuff) but once they realized he was cool they laid off.

Even if Two-bit was a soc I still don't think he'd have the best home life. His parents are separated so that already kinda isolated him in the soc community, and his mom has an awful boyfriend who comes around sometimes (so he can definitely relate to the greasers on a lot of levels).

But tbh. The Curtis gang really just seems like a bunch of real ones. No judgement there 💯 they would still love him even if he returned to the soc life (not like he would tho).

okay first of all i gotta say i love the vibe. two ghosty boys running around solving cases and helping trapped spirits move on? that's so fun i love them

tbh. i don't know whats going on btween these two if it's platonic romantic whatever and i don't think any distinction can be drawn that matters. maybe that's the aro in me but they are each other's most important person and who cares about the semantics!!!

charles trying to get edwin to learn self-defense is very sweet. however i will say girl how has this not happened sooner. you literally just got chased through london by a knife ghost and your next case involves fistfighting a possessed psychic Please learn to throw a punch minimum. i would say learning how to fall properly is more important but it's not like they can get more dead. so.

unless they go to the afterlife or something i guess? interesting stakes, especially with the lady from the end of the episode who's looking for them. also the scene hanging outside the window was very sweet, with edwin promising he won't let them get separated. at this point i think it could go either way whether that was to establish their dynamic or to foreshadow, so we'll have to wait and see if the promise holds, but either way very touching moment

crystal my girl crystal!!!! i love her so much holy shit she is so messy!!!! i love love love her getting angry about her shitty situation bc. yeah! that's scary as hell having amnesia bc ur literal demon ex stole your memories and she's got no one except the boys, one of whom very openly doesn't want her around. that's really rough and i Love that she blows up at them about it in a moment of extreme stress instead of being unnaturally chill about an objectively awful situation like many mystical characters (especially when they're women)

anyway i think crystal should get a knife and stabbing privileges. she'd for sure misuse them but i think it'd be funny

edwin is so real for the 70 years in hell thing. girl if i was in the torture dimension for SEVEN DECADES i'd be awful to everyone, it's actually impressive that he restrains himself to being a petty bitch. good for him tbh, i think he's earned the snark. don't get me wrong it's unhelpful and sometimes downright mean, but it's also funny so i'm letting it slide

I have a feeling that Noel would hate it due to her not being able to really physically control her darling as much as she wants to and that even if the darling were to give in at some point , it would still irk her not as much as before. But her knowing that there’s a possibility that her darling could overpower her if she really wanted to.Would always be in the back of her head.

But with Atalanta idk if she would care bc I mean she has security guards but they can’t be around 24/7. And that there will be times where she just wants her darling to herself. I have a feeling she would just drug or heavy restrain her darling so that wouldn’t be a big issue.

Yeah Noelle is honestly really small and kind of frail and she doesn't really eat or sleep, she would NOT be able to overpower her Darling in any capacity (But by god, she will try, she is not afraid to fight even if she'll get her ass kicked; she is not letting you go without a fight). If you wanted to leave, you would have to physically fight your way past her, probably having to hurt her a good bit before you get out the door. BUT as Atalanta's treasured personal assistant, she has protection too. The bodyguards rotate with shifts at Noelle's place too, and if you run away, they will simply bring you back because that's what Noelle wishes and they follow her wishes. And then you will catch shit for beating her up and running away. It absolutely bothers her that she can't control you like that. You should stay inside where she told you to stay, but if you really can't control yourself, she will get some sedatives to calm you down. You'll spend the day peacefully resting and then you can spend time with her when she gets home. You already don't have permission to leave so a nice sleep won't interrupt your plans, haha. Behave better and you can spend your days awake. Rest well, Darling.

Atalanta is actually pretty jacked so Darling would have to be absolutely ripped to overpower her. However, she literally can have bodyguards with her at all times. They take up shifts 24/7 outside of the apartment and just rotate, but there are always at least 2 there to protect both Atalanta and you. The apartment is on like the 16th floor so you're not getting out any other way but the door and they will stop you well before you get to the elevator. Ata isn't one to drug her Darling, she wants you to be happy and coherent in case she suddenly decides she needs you at work or she wants to go out to lunch with you, and has the guards escort you to her, so she mainly works with rewards and punishments. If you're behaving well, you can take the guards and go wherever you want, you can watch/do whatever you want in the apartment, you can have friends and enjoy your life as long as you come home to her in the evenings and on weekends. If you're behaving badly, you lose privileges like being able to go out/hang with friends, sometimes if you're really bad, she will lock you in the Reflection Room for up to a period of 8 hours (with her or a guard there the whole time in case of emergency). But life with Ata really isn't bad, it's only a little rocky at the beginning of the relationship before you earn her trust so if you can push through that, you'll be golden.

(and quite hairy?) i said this before, but one of the best things about nyc shows is watching artists brim with pride — nyc brings out the 15-year-old dreamer in them that they used to be, you can see the "holy shit i really did it" in their eyes... never gets old!!

i think people would typically approach this question one of two ways: you want to meet the people you really, really love no matter what or you want to meet the people you really, really want to know more about. those two things can overlap, but sometimes a person you adore has already shared so much, written so many books, created so much, done so many interviews and answered so many questions that you might feel it's a greater privilege to see behind the door of a fiercely private person instead, if forced to choose. stephen fry and simon amstell are great examples of people i've loved so long, respect so much, find endlessly funny and interesting and inspiring — but they've been so generous with their lives and thoughts that there are other comedians & writers i'd never know 1/100th as well even after a three-hour dinner and their undivided attention, and i may selfishly, desperately want to. i say "may" because i don't really blame anyone who would prefer to live in ignorance about their favourite comedians & writers and just enjoy them through their work. sometimes i think that's how i feel about victoria; she's so witty and so smart and represents so much of what i respect about women in her industry that i love her to bits, but because her opinions can be so strong and even acerbic i'm intimidated by the reality that we may clash in some of our ways of thinking — and, selfishly, i don't necessarily want to face that. anyways—

if we were having dinner all of us together, i think it'd be nice to pick 3 people who are friends and would have a lot to talk about amongst themselves — since i'd mostly be there as a voyeur, or to ask a question to spurn on more stories. there are also comedians i'd pick in this scenario because they'd do much better amongst their own kind than a one on one with a normie...

i think for a group dinner i'd enjoy so much seeing catherine tate, lee mack, and david tennant. how epic would be that? the oldest of friends, who used to be in a group on the circuit as kids, and the long-time colleagues and icons, who have ruled tv culture with their talent and their charisma; three open, warm people, all legends in their own rights, with endless stories, who may not otherwise show lower-key sides of themselves. i'd sit at that table forever, i think, learning about the comedy scene, the acting scene, television and movies, how the industry circles have overlapped and evolved and helped and hurt. i could sit at that table forever, i think.

as for one on one dinners, it's too difficult not to say david mitchell (is that so predictable ╥﹏╥ ), who is someone who feels close but far; i think — apart from his love of history — he's offered many more scratched surfaces than deep dives, and i deeply appreciate the spectrum of his career and interests. i couldn't keep him too long because i don't think he appreciates going on and on about himself, and i'm sure i couldn't be too interesting, but man what an experience that would be no matter if it was just a short tea! otherwise, i would say sean lock and...as a kind of wild card...richard osman. i think a lot of people will relate to sean, just wanting to see him again, just wanting a moment of his humanity, his great balance between accepting the harsh and coping what we can. richard is a strikingly fascinating person — the younger brother of a famous rockstar and a massive comedy nerd who went on to become one of the richest comedy tv producers and now a crime author? talk about containing multitudes. he's been around for so long but really hasn't given much of himself away — i'm so curious about his life! and he seems such a polite, gentle, intelligent, insightful person, i think the conversation would just be so enlightening!

as you can imagine i have about 15 other people i'd be dying dying dying to have dinner with but i stuck with the prompt!!! sorry i was so word vomit about it >.<

the thing is julian has 0% dad energy — what he has is INTENSE rich childfree aunt energy. she’s gonna come around for dinner once in a while and wear that fake smile around the kids that makes it very obvious she’s not into them but is happy for you and talk about her recent trip to paris and after about two hours she has to leave 1) to go to the theatre but mostly 2) for her own sanity. as for lucy and sam, i saw an amazing exchange (i think on tiktok?? idr) discussing the quite serious difference at the foundations of james acaster’s and sam campbell’s comedy, since they’re being often erroneously compared, and someone made a point that went more or less like this: “the basis of james’ comedy is the fact he is a deeply angry, self-loathing and mentally ill person. sam is just a toddler who has had way too many lollipops.” and…that’s it. older sister lucy and younger brother sam have had too many lollies — you can even find some in their hair 🍭🍭

Like a sanctuary I can get lost within. Everybody sees them as the eyes of a monster, but I see them as eyes of the most gorgeous being I have ever witnessed. Had PRIVILEGE witnessing. And while most of (normal) people would get creeped out if these pair of eyes gazed at them at any time, I personally would never feel safer than with Sephiroth watching over me, as I sleep, do anything, or just be in his presense. Big hand, not a nick or a single scar on that beautiful, smooth skin, pale like moonlight. He has no hair on them. Fingers slender and elegant, but not too long. He feels cold under the touch, but very soft. Purple and green veins that decorate his milky, thin skin... Others would be worried that its kind of too thin layered, and that there are so much veins visible. But I personally find it beautiful, because I have very thin skin myself, and many veins visible through my wrists, palms and knuckles. They're much bigger in size than mine, of course, He basically swallows my hands whole when he holds them🥺 (i have baby hands, im serious.). There are three lines across his left palm, two paralel, and the third slicing over them on the opposite direction. He has four on the left, all paralel.

Because Sephiroth almost always wears leather gloves, I like to slip my hands inside and just feel his skin with my finger tips... He lets me most of the time, but when he wants to break away, I don't let him, and grab his wrist closer to me😩

I adore kissing his knuckles, tips of his fingers and wrist the most. I also like biting his fingers sometimes, jokingly. And I like to trail the path of his veins when I doze off or, just bring his hand close to my face, lean into his touch, to SHOW him who I am devoted to. JUST him.

but yeah when it comes to her resolutions and her looking forward moments i feel like i dont really follow where her brain goes, it sometimes feels like she just ends up back where she started. and she doesnt play with gender and sexuality much, which is a shame because i feel like she could do it well?? idk maybe its fear, maybe shes cis and straight and those themes just dont resonate with her idk.

i also feel like shes almost choses stories where she wouldnt be forced to confront those topics? like little women has always had the same conclusion, she certainly did add her own artistry to the story but its not like she would have been expected to explore queer experiences there. and the same is true for barbie, barbie isnt exactly known for being a space that plays much with gender, and i highly doubt mattel would have approved a story that included too much queerness bc theyre trying to tell toys to conservative moms right? idk sorry this got long, your comments on gerwig just got me thinking

yeahhhhh exactly like. i am not a huge gerwig fan (not that i dislike her or anything; i'm just pretty neutral towards her as a director) + i only watched ladybird back when it first came out + barbie now. have never seen little women but based on what i know of the book yeah i imagine it's not like a movie where you'd expect lesbians lol nor was i expecting any particularly insightful exploration of queerness from barbie (although i do think it's nice that many people have been able to find meaningful aroace readings of the film)--and like i don't think it's gerwig's responsibility to explore such themes if they are not things she relates to or has an interest in exploring!

i feel like this is moreso just a problem with reception when any certain artist or work of art gets venerated as like....the pinnacle of representation for 'womanhood' or 'girlhood,' which is a category much of gerwig's critical reception seems to fall into. bc there is no single monolithic experience of 'womanhood,' the cultural consensus about what representations set the standard for such experiences always tend to privilege certain experiences (white, straight, cis, etc), oftentimes at the expense of erasing others. and this has been a particular aspect of some of the barbie praise that's grated on me; i've seen a lot of people talk about how it so perfectly encapsulates 'the female experience' and as a gnc lesbian i'm just like. alright then lol. think the treatment of queerness by the film as a whole was also just like....odd. generally speaking. honestly still parsing thru my thoughts on it but sometimes the framing of the movie made it a little difficult to tell whether i was being laughed at or laughed with tbh

You deserve my support and much more! Lacklustre updating schedule or not, everytime you leave is a very.. compelling and deeply emotional piece of art. I say deeply emotional because when I read it, I feel every emotion that’s written in a very raw and deep way, as if I was actually living it, and so, to be able to even read it and have access to more chapters, is a really big privilege for me.

I think by showing us the present first and then going back to how it all began and showing how y/n and Yen developed their deep bond is pretty amazing, it makes it hurt yes 😂 but also makes it feel real and more intimate bc now we know how truly intricate and deep their feelings are for each other and how much weight their past together has on the events that are occurring in the present and will happen in the future.

I can also tell you love writing for it, idk how to explain it really, but you can see it’s written with passion and love and that every little detail matters. So actually, thank you for creating such an amazing story and I will always look forward to any chapters you put out! 🖤💛 I’m glad my little ask made you feel happy also 😊

oh wow, love, i'm incredibly touched that you feel that way about it!! and that you consider it a piece of art. it's hard to try and see it from your perspective sometimes when i'm so deeply involved with it from a writer's point of view and can't read the chapters with a fresh mind, so hearing you say that actually filled me with joy and motivation.

and thank you so much for saying that! it means i accomplished what i intended to do. i always prefer to write with a heavy layer of emotion clouding my characters. emotions drive us, fuel our fears and define our actions. whether they're morally grey or relatable, it will help reach a level of understanding and hopefully help connect with the story. having to watch the characters battle both inwardly and outwardly before getting whatever their heart desires is just so much more satisfying.

going back to the past felt like a bit of a gamble at first. i was afraid i would confuse or lose some readers who probably desperately wanted to read what would happen at sodden instead, but now that i'm in the middle of writing those early days with yennefer, i realise it was the best decision i could have made. it will explain why they held off on their feelings and so much more. there are many subtle ways i can show their bond slowly forming, or how and why certain beliefs and insecurities will keep resurfacing simply because they were so intricately woven within them. by writing their story from the beginning, i feel like i've started to understand it even better. i don't think i could've properly taken the story forward the same way if i hadn't made that decision.

oh, i absolutely adore writing it. it slithered into my mind years ago during christmas break and it hasn't left me since. i never write anything just for the clicks or interactions, but especially not this one. i just had to write it all down, whether i would later on post it or not. i have notes upon notes everywhere and whenever an idea pops up while i read the books or play the game, i scribble it down. i still don't know how i can find clarity in the chaos (no pun intended). you can always come and talk to me about the story in my dms or asks, please don't hold back. i'd love to hear your thoughts and see if you've caught certain easter eggs, double meanings, symbolisms or foreshadowings (the flower on tissaia's desk is a nod to the bond she'll have with yen and y/n, for example). and as a writer, it's always interesting to see how certain things have landed with readers!

i feel like to a lot of people, me included, henry felt like the essence of the series, the glue holding it together. i get why people are frustrated he's no longer in it, and that the adaption has been absolute shit as well, but i honestly love the world of the witcher too much to not cling to every new bit of media they give us (and i really want to support the other actors). my story is a mix of the series and the book and will at one point stop following canon, since yen doesn't have her arc with geralt or ciri in this. i write yennefer with all of the different versions we've seen of her in mind, so i hope she doesn't feel too ooc for people who've only watched the series, played the game or read the book. but since this story doesn't exist in canon, we also don't have anything to compare her possible actions and reactions to with the things that will happen in everytime you leave, so i think i'll be fine 😊

hey i watched and finished 911 lone star this week, so imma bring uo something that is very old(s1 or 2) but that impacted me A LOT

And that is the first(second? one of the first) tarlos fight, about Carlos telling his parents TK was his friend. I understand and feel for TK, especially after being fresh from a traumatic break up from a relationship in which he was clearly more invested than his partner(fuck u alex).

But I feel so much for Carlos. I am brazilian, like Rafael, and I feel like i live in the Reyes household, when Carlos was young. I am Carlos at 17, coming out, being hugged, being loved, and then having that part of himself be pushed under the rug. I will never come out to my extended family. I may take a while to transition medically, or never transition, not because I live with especially close-minded people, but because I live with humans that are sometimes afraid of what they don't know.

When Carlos said "I don't wanna rub their noses in it" I felt that, because I can't even talk to my mom about Lone Star without telling her that what drew me to it was the queer rep, esp the trans rep. Lat time I talked to my mom about a show like this, it was Star Trek Discovery, and she said "Wow, are there only gay people in these things you watch?". Needless to say, I tend to refrain from mentioning characters that arent cishet now.

I will have to cut contact with most of my family when I come out, if I wanna get married, get my name changed, etc.

When TK said "I thought they were nice people" and Carlos said "They ARE nice people. But they are not perfect" I felt that because I love my mom. She supported me though all of my crazy dreams, and my depressive episodes, my autism diagnosis. But she doesn't see her son when she looks at me, and she can't say my name. I have complicated feelings about my father, because he is a cheater w anger issues, but he calls me his son. He sends me articles on trans rights here in my town. He wants to see me become whatever I want. But he also left.

What I wanna say is, I never realized I needed latino rep in my media until I got it, especially queer latino rep. I am white passing, though both my grandmothers are/were black, so I always thought I was ok with seeing characters that were brunettes, like Hermione, or Belle. But seeing Encanto, and now Lone Star I actually saw my family there, with the mess and the thousands of tios and tias and primos, and the catholic guilt and the good food.

What I'm saying is Rafa said "The fact that we [Ronen and Rafa/ TK and Carlos] can just walk into your living room without your asking? Yeah, that brings me joy" bc ls is not a queer show.It's a show about first responders, and some of them happen to be queer. It's not next to RuPaul's drag race on the straming catalogue, but next to action shows. And it reminds me that people think that is "shoving it in theur faces". Because they feel queer rep, and queer PEOPLE should come with a warning, because they ferl they have the right to simply ignore out existence. Sometimes ut feels like simply existing is "shoving it in their faces" and I'm tired.

I am very privileged in my country, being the child of university professors, even though both of them grew up very poor. I am middle class, with fairly open parents and a queer sister, and for that I am grateful, and I realize that my situation is better than a lot of people's. I am not denying that. But it feels nice to see a story that looks like mine, not just a face. A story in US media, that I grew up watching and worshipping, far more than the relatively conservative media from Brazil(especially the novelas, jesus christ, someone save us from globo, recodrd and band and sbt), with a boy that reminds me so much of myself. With a trans male character for fuck's sake, that has to deal with the mess of dating as a trans person, of navigating your family and your transition. These people showed me that I am not alone.

Also Rafael is from my town and ever since I foumd that out I have been giggling internally, you guys have no clue 😅😅

Oh well, another rant no one asked for but I delivered anyways. I am very depressed, very disphoric and very hyperfixated on 911 ls, so...sorry, not sorry?

I just felt very upset at how it seemed like no one who’s friends/aquatinted with watcher really backed them up (which, I guess they didn’t want the drama to travel over to them) when all this shit went down but try guys got so much praise that I wanted to rant but I didn’t think about how it would effect you! I’m sorry! 😞

No no need to apologize I'm glad you agree that this is indeed kinda fucked up that watcher got dragged by the mud and people acted like they did a crime and try guys are praised for it by everyone in the industry and even official youtube account on insta congratulating them. This is white privilege at play, and them sucking up to bigger players in the game (they are still very friendly with youtube and praise and praise dropout ceo) yet being deadly silent on watcher going first and doing the same thing as them but still poking fun at their expense. I think that's pretty bad and shows us who are the greedy ones.

It's especially interesting bc as you said watcher feels genuine and passionate about their videos. They want perfectionism and that costs money but you can see where it goes (ghost files is really good and it feels like I'm watching an indie movie. Like the production value is blowing me away and what made me stay after watching the first ep I didn't know about them before). From what I've seen of try guys? Like okay yeah some cooking tv shows, maybe the production goes on like food ingredients and having celebrity guests as judges but It overall it's pretty much youtube videos content. To me it doesn't feel like the argument of "high production value is justified" something that was seen as bad with watcher is now a praise for them. I simply don't get it except I do, it's the racism and seeing people of color as having malicious intentions for daring to say "hey please give us money so we can continue doing what we do". The message is the same but the medium is different.

That said I hope watcher succeeds and blows us away with their new shows. Sometimes quality over quantity matters and I'm happy to support them wherever they go from here and whatever they decide to do.
