ik it's naive and unrealistic and ignores the complexity of real life and people and time and stuff but I wish marc and vale could be fine. like they loved each other. I watch old races and old podiums and old press conferences and they liked each other so much

platonic or romantic i really don't give a shit but they were so similar. they're in a sport that's so scary and insane and they are so exceptional and they found someone so similar to themselves and they're soo far apart in age and somehow they got to race at the same time and they admired each other and they had fun and they were friends and they were too similar and it was inevitable but they loved each other

i just can't get over that Valentino was marcs greatest idol and Valentino told him to tell him if anybody was giving him trouble in the championship and they liked each other so much and they would never have even considered another course than what they did bc they're so similar and winning will always come first

anyway sorry for being sad in your asks I just watched a race and the parc ferme made me ehhhhhhh

ik this is all just fandom and were just speculating and doing this for fun and entertainment but regardless of the nature of their relationship they had one that was so beautiful to be able to witness however briefly and I'm just in my feels about how im so privileged to be alive at the time to be able to witness such titans exist s mi simultaneously in a sport I love so much

i think it’s very normal to look at those guys and be like. why are you as two grown ass men one of whom is no longer competing in the sport (and who is now on good terms with all his OTHER rivals?? and who was never very directly competitive against marc ANYWAYS??) still so publicly hung up on a beef from almost nine years ago that was deeply and foundationally delusional in many ways. like this is kinda the question that this blog has been attempting to investigate since uhhhh last october
