in this au i think yuu would be a barmaid eventually turned Regular Maid lol. the first time she encounters the matsunovs its closing up and walking home and everyone (but especially choro) gives her the Stare from the shadows of an alleyway while shes just like 🚶‍♀️💨

they keep having Almost Interactions in the dead of night and it kind of freaks her out. finally choro cant take it anymore and drops off a letter at her door... yuu finds it in the morning and its a call for a live in housekeeper........! the specifications are pretty vague - whoever sent this is just looking for someone to keep the place clean while the owners take a trip overseas for an extended period of time. seems a little sus but the pay is well over twice what she makes at the bar AND no more close calls walking home in the middle of the night?! so she's like lmaooooo bye and packs up her stuff and arrives at... matsunov manor.

just like the letter said it appears there's nobody here - but it does look lived in so it probably wasn't a trick...? since there's no one else there it's pretty easy to finish her chore list every day and still have time to go out to town for a few hours every day. falling into a daily routine comes easily, and she sleeps soundly enough at night that she doesn't notice the sounds of someone (or something) moving around at night... but it does bother her that sometimes she wakes up and things look like they've been messed with overnight. but that's just her imagination right? her pay always arrives on time, and the manor has nice amenities, so she can't bring herself to quit... she keeps trying to convince herself that she's definitely here by herself...

they all blame it on choro immediately lmfao. he steps out from a dark corner in the room and sheepishly explains that he wanted to get to know her better, totally not eat her, and he couldn't think of a better way to do it since he can't go out in the daytime 🤦‍♀️

the whole scenario is so unbelievable all yuu can ask is "so the owners aren't away traveling?" and the matsunovs are like erm... we're the owners. this is our house. He snores really loudly and he gets up a lot of times during the night: first he might wanna get a midnight snack, then drink some water, then go to the toilet, then go open the window 'cause it's hot, and the list goes on. Yes, all that in one night.

Those endearing moments where you catch your partner sleeping and they just look so cute? Yeah, never happening with Martin, he's either up or snoring. He also sometimes uses words the wrong way 'cause English isn't his first language.

Harley loves to just sit and talk with people, especially her lover. So her pet peeve would be when she wants to talk but it becomes a monologue 'cause her partner just stares at her and answers with monosyllables.

When Harley and her partner have planned to do an activity, and her partner keeps saying they're about to go get dressed so they can go, but it's been 3 hours and they still haven't done that.

She's an early bird. Say her s/o accidentally wakes up at 7:00 am, they'll find that Harley has already left, made coffee, left a a cute note saying

and bought groceries. They'll fall back asleep and wake up an hour later and Harley would have come home, wrote a song about how cute her partner is when they sleep, and bought them a bouquet with their favourite flowers.

Echo will stay up the whole night playing a video game, watching a series or reading a book, their partner will go to sleep and wake up to find her in the same position. There comes the question: has she slept at all?

The answer is no.

She'll even try really really hard to convince her s/o to stay up with her so they can be together.

Echo will also literally terrorise her partner, she loves sneaking up on people and she's such a try-hard about it. She won't just sneak up on people, no; she'll even use her abyss powers to teleport behind her s/o and scare them.

Bad hygiene, especially bad breath/ yellow teeth. Bad communication, like his s/o giving him the cold shoulder after they had a disagreement.

He's a workaholic, if he can work on a book he's writing, research a specific type of affinity, or read a book about magic theory, he will. This man doesn't know how to relax, his partner will have to force him to sit down and chill together.

He is also probably addicted to playing chess on his phone, if he isn't working or spending time with his partner, he's on the chess.com app. Specifically, the 3 minute long matches, which he'll lose anyways 'cause he forgets he only has 3 minutes and he'll spend an eternity before making any move.

All this 'cause he watched one (!) episode of The Queen's Gambit (didn't have the time to watch the rest, he says).

• I count when I’m going up/down stairs so I can focus and not trip lol. My clumsiness is real sometimes.

• Speaking of clumsy, I have twisted, sprained, torn ligaments and had a stress fracture in the same foot/ankle at least 5 times. Ole lefty has seen better days.

• Maybe this contributes to the clumsy but my eyesight is terrible. I blame Levar Burton and Reading Rainbow for my obsession with reading even in the dark when I was supposed to be sleeping (Extra fact: I had a serious crush on that man lmaoo). I started wearing bifocals in 1st grade. I had the real thick ones 😅🤓 and I’m grateful every day for modern technology to make lenses thinner. Is there a fic you regret writing: Not really, I mean I'm embarrassed of some of my writings, but it just shows that I've learned and I can write better now :)

Favorite thing you've written: "When I..." A long fic about a suicide attempt and it was very comforting to write, but then I think I've written a few good hurt/comfort fics. There's like very small bits of the stories that I absolutely love, and loved to write

What do you like to write: Hurt/comfort and just sad things, I feel like I'm good at it. I like descriptive writing too and I've been trying to work on it lately

What do you do when you wake up: Turn off my alarm if it's on, then I go through the notifications on my phone and just lay there doing random things before I gotta get up. Usually reading actually if I have enough time and oh, always listen to a podcast/music

Morning routine: What I just mentioned, but when I get up, I drink water and take my meds, go to the bathroom, brush my teeth. If I'm going somewhere I pack my stuff, and then dress up. If I'm not going anywhere, I usually start watching something and drink coffee in peace and then change clothes

Evening routine: I shower, wash my face, sometimes eat something and change into pyjamas. Mark stuff in my calendar, do my journaling and then I get into bed. I usually read before sleeping, a book or fanfic.

Do you like your neighbors: I don't really know our neighbors 👀 except the ones I dog sit for. Oh at least one of our neighbors thinks I'm creepy. (Literally steered their kids away from me while I was coming from school.)

How many languages can you speak: Two (actually three but I'm really bad at the third one) I picked french for next year tho :)

Summary: YN has been living with Mason for nearly a year. She isn't a good sleeper, sometimes she kept her mind busy, other times she just overthinks.  Fluffy overall

It was no secret that you were a night owl. It’s not like you didn’t like the mornings, you loved every second of the day you could enjoy. But at nights your mind just went crazy. A lot of ideas ran thought your mind the second you lay on bed, it didn’t matter how tired you felt, your brain wasn’t cooperating. It was nice some days, getting some inspiration for birthday presents, outfits, paintings…just anything. But when anxiety hit you it wasn’t that fun, sometimes you weren’t able to convince yourself that they were just thoughts. 

That was one of those nights you couldn’t stop waggling in bed. Mason was next to you, peacefully sleeping, completely external to your thoughts, to your feelings so late at night. You preferred it that way. You told him when you started dating, but that didn’t stop him to ask and almost beg you to move in with him a year ago now. What could you say? You were over the moon, extremely happy, after dating him for a couple years there was nothing you wanted more. 

So that night, you got out of bed carefully, being extremely quiet trying to remember the creaky pieces of  the wood floor, until you could reached the door, close it, and illuminate the corridor with your phone, not daring to turn on the lights until you got to the ground floor. 

You reached the kitchen and stayed there for a minute, silently watching the clock. It was louder now that everything was silent. You could hear every second of your time passing by as you poured some cold milk in the glass. Only milk, no sugar, no saccharine, no honey. It reminded you so much of when you were little that now, after so many years, it made you feel calm, it made you feel home. 

Mason knew it. He wasn’t a big fan of milk, of course he drank some but not in every chance he got like you. That didn’t stop him from buying so many bottles of milk you were actually embarrassed when the deliveryman brought your groceries home. Mason always found curious how a simple drink could make you feel so homely, wondering if his niece would feel the same a few years later as she, like you, was always with a bottle of milk in her tiny hands. 

You decided one glass wasn’t enough. Two won’t do the job neither, so you grabbed the whole bottle and headed to the settee. 

You remembered refusing to put your toes on the settee even if you were barefoot during your first days living there, but you gave up that idea a couple of days later. Mason celebrated that gesture of yours like one of his victories, finally seeing that you were starting to feel his home as yours, loving how you, little by little, got comfortable in the place. 

Like a baby learning to walk, first you needed to crawl and then walk to finally start running. Now, after a year getting used to this new life with him, you were feeling like if you were ready to run a marathon, and it just made you feel calm knowing that Mason would be there cheering for you. 

So there you were, on that settee that looked even bigger when a single person sat on it, with your sweatshirt’s hood over your head. It was actually Mason’s, but you wore it all the time, so it was now yours as you tried to explain to him so many times before, but he still refused.

The fluffy blanket was covering your body, you only had your hand outside holding the bottle. You truly looked like a mad man, resting the head on the back of the settee as you looked to the ceiling before looking to your right, hearing footsteps. 

You always thought Mason was the kind of person who were quiet. Not quiet when it came to talking, but quiet when it came to walking around the house in the middle of the nights or in the early mornings, being extremely careful when he opened or closed cabinets or closets. You could’t’ve been more wrong. The boy was loud, always. At first it annoyed you so much, but now you couldn’t do anything but laugh at his clumsy steps echoing the house, hearing them coming closer as he shouted your name in the middle of the room. You were literally in front of him, but it wasn’t until you lifted the bottle of milk over your head that he realised you were there, finally turning the lights on.

“Mason!! Turn the lights off, my eyes hurt!!” You groaned trying to cover your eyes with the hood of your sweat. 

“What are you doing here???” He asked with a sleepy voice, completely ignoring your demand. He sat next to you, lifting the blanket himself so he could cuddle underneath it too, resting his head on your shoulder.  He You didn’t need to answer his question, just showed him the bottle one more time and it was enough “you alright?” He was already familiar with your kind of nights. More than once he woke up to an empty bed in the middle of the night. Sometimes you were in the guest room, where you had your desk, your drawings, books, notebooks… other times he would find you in the settee. But it didn’t matter where you were, you always had a glass of milk, or the whole bottle, beside you. 

“Yeah, I’m fine. Just the usual” you unworriedly said placing your arm around him. “Go back to bed, you have training tomorrow morning, Mase” you said, knowing your words were useless against his stubbornness. 

“Nah, I’ll stay here” he answered kissing your shoulder and cuddling more into the blanket. So you stayed there, thanking your lucky stars for that sleepy boy next to you.

“Thanks” you didn’t doubt a second in placing another kiss at the top of his head. Then you moved your hand to caress his hair, knowing that actions spoke louder than words.  

“Mum always did that when I couldn’t sleep at night” he softly groaned feeling at ease, you immediately knew he would be asleep in a second. “Maybe I should do it to you too so that yo—”

“Don’t you dare touch my hair, Mason” you threated him, not even letting him finish. He let out a soft laugh that melted your heart even more. He was aware you hated when someone touched your hair just because it was curly and it turned into a frizzy mess easily. Mason always asked if he could massage your head when you couldn’t sleep, but you denied it for that same reason, and he would get mad. But in the morning you would joke about touching his after he spent a good 10 minutes trying to get it together and the tables turned. “Let’s go back to bed” you got up, placing the bottle on the coffee table as you walk away, a sleepy Mason following you. 

“You sure you don’t want to stay longer here?” He hugged your waist form behind not completely convinced of your decision “or talk about it”.

“Tomorrow. Now I just want to finally sleep” you said placing your hand on top of his, letting him kiss your neck as you guided him through the dark house.

Mason didn’t let you go for the whole night. He always had some kind of contact with you, whether it was his hand on your waist, your fingers intertwined or touching your feet with his. When you woke up next morning his hand was still around your waist, just in the same position you fell asleep. 

He woke up before you did, he needed to leave for training. You were used to that, you were used to him. It was always the same routine, but that didn’t make you like it less. 

He turned off the alarm, mumbling something you could never understand. He woke up and headed directly to the shower. If you were lucky enough, he had already prepared his bag the night before; if not, the involuntary slams would wake you up. If the slams didn’t wake you up then the next step of his morning routine surely did: he always sent a voice message to the group chat of his family while he got dress.

Mason started speaking softly: ’I’m sorry I’m speaking this quietly, YN is still sleeping here’ he always said. But then he would end up the message shouting or laughing about something he just said himself anyways. 

After, he moved next to the bed, where you were laying acting as if you were deeply asleep, though he could perfectly tell you weren’t. He leaned into your side, placing a soft goodbye kiss on your cheek. You would wake up abruptly, getting your hands out of the comforter in an attempt to scare him. It worked the first few days. Now, after a year, he was just waiting for your move to share the first laughs of the day together. You grabbed his neck and pull him closer to kiss him properly on his lips. If he was ever late was because that step became something more. Then he would just leave the room while you shouted as loud as you could with your sleepy voice to drive safe and drink loads of water. He would laugh, groaning about not wanting water but food and how much he hated to eat his breakfast in the training grounds, where the staff kept an eye on his cereal choice and the amount of coffee he drank, and same with lunch.

Then the worst part of your day came. It wasn’t saying goodbye to your dear boyfriend, but gettin up from the bed. And so your day started. 

After a few hours (better said the whole day) it was time for just the opposite, your favourite time of the day, and this time it was related to Mason. It’s not like you missed him much during the day, you had work to do   and that kept you distracted. Besides, he always sent you photos. He was drinking water in most of them, letting you know that he remembered your words. ‘The lads wanted joined’ you laughed watching the last picture he sent, a selfie of the whole group drinking water with their thumbs up. If you didn’t know better, you would say they were psychopaths. And then you phone buzzed again ‘on my way’. You didn’t stop what you were doing until you heard the car outside. 

“I’m home!!!!” He shouted. More than a call, it was a statement, or so was what you thought. You were always by the entrance when he came in, but he still shouted.

“Hi hello!!” you greeted him with a hug before he moved his face in front of yours, closing his eyes and making a kissy face demanding a well-deserved kiss. And so you did, you kissed him and he kissed you without even breaking the hug. “Hungry??” He didn’t answer, just showed you that naughty look that still made your cheeks warm. “I mean for dinner, idiot!!” You almost shouted hitting his chest in a playful way. 

“I know, I know” he laughed toeing off his shoes. “We have left overs”.

“Yep. I’ll heat them, you go change” 

“Yes miss” he got up and stayed still in front of you, doing the military salute before heading upstairs.

You were still looking for the food in the fridge when he came down again, wearing much comfortable clothes. He came directly to you, kissed your neck, cheek, lips and forehead and headed to set the table, not even saying a word. You just laughed as you kept looking for the ramen.

“Is it hot??” He asked, both of you already at the table ready to start your dinner.

“No it’s not” you answered. But still, he waited for you to try it first, just to make sure you weren’t lying.

After a delicious dinner, it was movie time. You needed to pick everything up and clean the kitchen, but Mason wouldn’t let you do it. He insisted you should just wait in the settee, and you didn’t fight back too hard neither. So there you were, sitting on the large couch listening to your boyfriend off-key voice. It was actually scary.

He was fast coming back and sitting next to you, completely ignoring your groaning about the TV: he was already comfortable in the settee but hadn’t turn it on. “I want to talk” he looked at you, letting out a giggle when he saw your shocked face, expecting the worst. “Nothing bad YN, I swear” he tried to calm you down and he achieved it. “I just wanted to know what happened yesterday night?? I know your a night owl, but you were here and not in the guest room. And it’s kinda silly, but you always chose that room when you want to read, draw or whatever and this” he said patting the settee “when you just can’t stop thinking” you were about to star talking, but he cut you off “You don’t need to tell me anything, I just want you to know that I’m here, you can tell me if you want. I just want to help” And there you have it. Another reason to love him, you collected so many during the last years  they didn’t fit anywhere anymore. 

“I was just thinking, that’s all” you smiled at him, placing a comforting hand on his knee as he nodded.  “I just- I don’t know. Sometimes I feel scare that we found each other so early, so young”.

“You think we’re moving too fast??” He tried to pull the threat, but sight relieved when you denied it with your head. 

“No!! We dated for a couple of years, this was the next logical step. It’s just like… I’m scared of doing this because the sooner we start the sooner we finish. Do you get what I'm saying??” You asked concerned trying to make him understand perfectly what you meant so that he didn’t misunderstand your words. “I want it, I want everything with you, I want a house, a dog, a family…everything, we already talked about that and I haven’t change my mind” you tried to reassure him. “But I’m scare that it ends” he hummed as he thought on the words you just say. 

“I see it the other way around, love” he talked placing his hand on top of yours. “The sooner we start, the more time we have to enjoy it. Because this is not going to end, never YN, it’s you and me, forever. That’s it”  if he wouldn’t know about how serious your late night rambles were to you, he would be laughing his head off at the face you showed when he said it. Sleepless nights thinking about it and he, in just one second, made you look everything from a different perspective. 

“Okay” you nodded relieved after hearing his words. 

“Did I convinced you???” He asked with his eyebrows drawn together and you didn’t answer, just nodded quicker than before. “Good, because I can’t return the ring now” he said between giggles as he got up.

“What ring?? Mason??”  You asked panicking after hearing his words. 

“I’m not going to ask you now, but yes, I already have it” he winked and left smirking. And there you go, another reason to keep you awake at night.
