I won’t even defend this one with a cool caption guys.
#sighhh chaos duo#from the drafts#shingeki no kyojin#aot#zeke yeager#anyways my opinion on pieck&yelena is that while pieck gets why things went down as it did she’s still totally salty at yelena for#her part in massively exemplifying zeke’s already existing issues and making the anti-marleyean league and her zealotry#imo she and zeke were ABSOLUTELY like a spark to a flame. rwo halves of a whole in the worst way possible. yelena needed to believe in#something and zeke needed someone to believe in him#these two finding each other truly was the worst case situation but i think they were fond of each other. filling in the gaping hole in your#heart with whatever you can find type vibes. divinely ordained mututal worsties.#aot yelena#snk#snk yelena#zekelena#attack on titan#zeke jaeger#zeke x yelena

Hii ^_^ Could you write some Yelena (AOT) headcanons pls?? Any type is fine :P If u can then thanku‼️
▹ Yelena AOT General Headcanons ᡣ𐭩ྀིྀི₊ ⊹
Hiii! I’m sorry for taking so long, but it’s finally here! Thank you so much for requesting!
warnings: season 4 spoilers
Disclaimer: Everyone is welcome on my page and I will not turn you away. However, it is your fault if you’re uncomfortable or peeved with my writing because I give multiple warnings prior to my content. thanks!
❥ Yelena has a very dry unsettling sense of humor. She’ll make deadpan and cryptic jokes that make people wonder if she was joking or being serious. Like, if you were to come complaining to her about someone, she’d be like “let’s kill them” with a straight face and you wouldn’t know if she was joking or not.
❥ Yelena’s entire life revolves around Zeke’s plan. She views him as a Godly figure and has internalized the idea that she is part of something greater than herself. So in order for her to like you even the slightest bit, you have to like and worship Zeke as well.
❥ Her love language is acts of service. She thinks actions speak louder than words, so she doesn’t say “I love you” very often.
❥ Is definitely a scissor sister. She idolizes Zeke as an otherworldly figure that saved her life, but that does not mean she likes him romantically. I just don’t see her as someone that could ever be with a man.
❥ Despite her scary and stoic demeanor, Yelena enjoys simple tasks like cooking or cleaning. She sees no point in her dishes being overly fancy, so a good bowl of homemade soup is enough to put a smile on her face.
❥ If you’re Yelena’s partner and something comes up where she had to choose between you or Zeke, she would choose Zeke. Her loyalty towards him is unwavering. With Yelena, it’s hard for me to differentiate whether or not she loves you or if she’s using you. She is a very complex character, but people just weren’t ready for that yet.
❥ Has a superiority complex.
❥ She is a perfectionist. She’ll tweak out if a fork on the table isn’t placed in the right spot.
❥ Yelena has a hard time forming genuine bonds with others. She sees most people as pawns in her game and stepping stools to get to where she needs to be, so when someone takes the time to actually try and get to know her personally, she doesn’t know how to react, though it’ll be easier for her if they already see the same visions she does.
❥If you’re simply just an ally, she would not hesitate to betray you, whatever the situation is. But if you’re someone special to her, she’d try and make a way to keep you out of whatever she’s gotten you both into.
❥ Everyone is scared of her and she takes pride in it.
❥ Relies on psychological warfare and guns because she is weak and cannot fight for shit (as we saw Magath HANDLE her). I doubt she’d be getting into any physical fights anytime soon.
❥ I also believe that Yelena is not emotionless. I see a lot of people say because she’s stoic she doesn’t “care” or “feel”. She cried when Zeke died and I truly do believe if she were to find the right person, she would love them and do anything for them, just like she did with Zeke.

Out of curiosity, Do you think Cody would still keep in contact with Gwen? And is Ezekiel doing better now atleast?
(me shamelessly asking a random question before asking abt my favorite character to not look suspicious /j)
like in canon (or, at least taking Christine Thompson's word for it..), Cody's attraction to Gwen fizzled out after World tour ended. sure, they kept in contact for a little while after but eventually that came to an end as they naturally moved on with their lives
this was from another ask that's now invisible in my inbox (probably due to the account that asked being deactivated - its pretty much on me for not answering what's in my inbox sooner/being put off trying to put each ask into a coherent order, deepest apologies for that), but it's mainly Cody that constantly wonders how the other TDI contestants (except the ones that he already still sees personally) are going, I guess more as like a passing thought.
(also, yet another retcon, hopefully the last one for a while - I mentioned in an earlier post that Cody was close friends with Sierra, who co-writes for his celeb gossip blog.. well the blog is still a thing, but has long since been abandoned. it was more of a side project Cody did during his 20's, with Sierra occasionally writing some stuff for it here and there. one day however, something clicked in Cody's mind - something that should have clicked long ago, and he stopped spending as much time with Sierra. hell, he probably hasn't seen her in years at this point, probably for the better..)
as for the Ezekiel question... oh man, I was sort of dreading when I would bring this up, since this idea has been stewing in my mind for a good while now, and admittedly, from one Zeke enjoyer to another, this will not a pleasant thing to reveal, but there needed to be a reason for Total Drama to be cancelled in this au, other than to needlessly justify why all newer generations of TD cast members are much younger than they are in canon
Ezekiel's dead. when he fell into that volcano in the World Tour finale, he didn't end up making it out (I mean, dude was submerged in BOILING LAVA - I get its a cartoon but its far from believable that someone could survive that). some say he was put out of his misery, others think it was a perfect example of how greed could ruin a person, but all in all, it was fucked. it was not a pretty death, and the fact that Chris and the TD production crew still had the AUDACITY to keep footage of and broadcast someone's death on international TV was enough to get the show cancelled immediately and get the shit sued out of Chris. at least now he can't terrorise anymore teens, sucks to be him...
#noco family au#noco lore#yea this is kinda dark but I mean.. it makes the most sense to me#sorry for the drastic tonal shift#we'll be back to our regular scheduled programming shortly

Season 4 Levi Ramble
I realize I have the free will to complain about anything on here so I shall. I don't really know the majority opinion on this, but I was thinking about Levi getting blown up by Zeke. And, I think it was kind of out of character for Levi to do something so damn stupid.
First of all, just what??
I don't really understand the reason why he would put a literal explosive that could kill him near himself for any reason, especially if there was even the smallest possibility that Zeke could cause it to explode.
We've seen Titan shifters heal from the craziest bullshit on the planet... and you want to test those regeneration powers out? All he had to do was keep cutting his limbs... as he was already doing.
I don't believe that Levi was "clouded by emotion" or some bullshit because he has dealt with horrid situations while hanging on to his rational mind. Any major fight of his is an example of this. Kenny vs. Levi, Levi vs. The Female Titan, Levi vs. The Beast Titan.
As he led his assault on the Beast Titan, he knew most of the Scouts would die. Levi still managed to be strategic while being pissed off. He destroyed the arm, cut the eyes, and moved on to immobilizing the Beast Titan by cutting his Achille's heels, which caused collapse. Those aren't just some blind hits. Also, he waited to kill Zeke solely because someone could be saved by the titan serum. So, clearly, he can be rational in these types of scenarios.
The other example would be his fight against the Female Titan. He lost his squad and saw their dead bodies after they were brutalized. He is pissed. Still, he immobilizes her and retrieves Eren without attempting to slaughter her, even after what she did to his squad.
Maybe I need to rewatch or something, but, at this moment, it seems kind of out of character and like he needed to be pushed out of the storyline.

Levi never Glorified Violence and Never needed to be Taught a Lesson that Violence is Wrong:
Nothing makes me want to rip my hair out more than when I see clowns saying Levi was "blinded by revenge" over wanting to kill Zeke, that he was "too violent", and that's why he got blown up by the thunderspear.
It's such a deeply, fundamentally WRONG understanding of why Levi wanted to kill Zeke, and also, of why he ended up getting blown up. I've already spoken about the strategically sound reasoning behind Levi's actions, which you can read here, if you're interested: https://www.tumblr.com/cosmicjoke/746918499422781440?source=share But to summarize, Levi hooking Zeke to the thunderspear made perfect, logical sense within the context of Zeke's own actions and behavior up to that point. Zeke was someone who until then had engaged in tactics of deception and double-crosses, who had only killed others while at a safe distance and within the cocoon of his Titan form. Decidedly the actions and behavior of a coward. Levi had no, good cause to suspect Zeke would be willing to blow himself up to also take Levi out, and so his reasoning that the thunderspear would act as insurance against Zeke escaping while Levi was preoccupied with driving the cart back to the capital was a reasonable and logical conclusion for him to make. It wasn't a decision blinded by rage or an action taken in hast. Just like it was reasonable for Zeke to assume Levi would rather die than cut down his own comrades, because he knew of Levi's compassion. Both of them underestimated each other, and both of them paid for making assumptions about the other.
But further to the point, this whole idea that Levi was being "punished" for his violence is the stupidest shit I've ever seen. Because it basically posits that Levi glorified violence, and so needed to be "taught a lesson" that violence was wrong, when he's the one character in the story who NEVER did that. He never reveled in violence, he never tried to frame it as something good or desirable, or even tried to justify it. He always spoke about and treated violence for what it was, a means to an end and nothing more. He never tried to moralize it or excuse it. He was always completely objective about it.
Compare, for example, the matter of fact way Levi explains violence and killing to Armin and Jean, versus how Zeke frames his own actions of violence. Zeke calls his murder of people a "mercy". He frames it as a positive action which results in a positive, better outcome. He has a totally warped view of killing and violence because he tries to justify it and moralize it to himself and others. He tries to frame his violence as something which makes him a hero. Levi does no such thing. He tells Jean and Armin that he doesn't know if it's right or wrong to kill, only that if Armin hadn't killed that MP, they would all be dead, and that Armin can't go back to the person he was, because he's now taken human life. He isn't justifying it, or moralizing it, he isn't trying to spin it into something positive or good, or even into something bad or wrong. He's simply stating an objective truth and then telling the 104th that they need to make their own choice about what they believe is right and wrong in any, given situation.
Or compare the way Levi approaches torturing Sannes to how Hange does. Hange goes into that situation gung-ho at the idea of torturing Sannes, because she wants revenge on him for killing Pastor Nick. She thinks she'll enjoy torturing Sannes, and attempts to enjoy it by taking it to an extreme, only to realize she's getting no satisfaction at all from her cruelty. By comparison, Levi never does or even attempts to take pleasure in the act of torture. He approaches it as a means to an end, something he has to do in order to obtain the information they need to overthrow the current government. There's no justification in his mind, no excuse he tells himself to make himself feel better about it. He already knows it's horrible and ugly. He already understands perfectly the wretched reality of violence. Again, he's the ONLY character in the story who does, from start to finish. It's why Hange is so rattled and upset after torturing Sannes, because she thought it would be fun, only to learn it was anything but. Levi never thought it would be fun, he never expected it to be, never wanted it to be, and he never tried to convince himself that it was anything better than what it actually was. It's why we see his shocked expression when Hange engages in unnecessary cruelty by ripping one of Sannes' teeth out. He's always been the most objective character when it comes to violence. He's never labored under any belief that his violence made him a hero, and he never tried to glorify violence to anyone or told them they were heroes for killing.
It's also why Yelena says to him what she does, during the final arc, and the battle at the docks. Because she knows that he knows, better than anyone, the inherent violence of the human condition and the ugly reality of it. Yelena is trying to again push her fanatical belief in Zeke's antinatalist philosophy, by pointing out that people are always going to kill and be cruel to each other, and she makes the point to Levi specifically, because she knows Levi is the only one who'd already long ago understood and accepted that truth.
So this idea that Levi is this ultra-violent, revenge-obsessed lunatic that needs to be taught that "violence is bad" is fucking moronic, and I am SICK TO DEATH of seeing people perpetuate that bullshit take. I want to tell everyone who does to just shut the fuck up already, because they're actively damaging the perception people have of Levi's character every time they spew that garbage.

Dancing under the Moonlight | Prologue
Bradley Bradshaw x OC Reader (Nickname Honey)
Summary: After the Uranium Mission, Bradley Bradshaw decides he wants to settle down. Maybe even start a family at some point in time. But he felt so tired (and old) to be in the dating scene. That's until he sees a beautiful new bartender at The Hard Deck. Not only that; turns out she's Penny's niece, Beatrice. They both hit it off amazing, but for some reason, Beatrice isn't letting her walls down yet. But Bradley is going to get to the bottom of what Bea's big secret is.
Warnings: Swearing, angst, drinking, mentions of past abuse, fluff, eventually smut 18+, age gap (24 & 35)
Check out the Masterlist
You’re hiding in the closet in your bedroom. Scared for your life, trying to cover your mouth so he doesn’t hear you. You suddenly jolt at the sound of someone knocking on your door. But you don’t answer it, you stay inside not wanting to be found. A few minutes later you hear the door creak open, your whole body is pulverized with fear. You hear footsteps all around the room. But you finally hear someone call out for you.
“Bea…Beatrice, are you here?” you hear a female voice. You come to realize it’s you, Aunt Penny. You let out a gasp and start to let out all the waterworks from your body and start to sob uncontrollably. You hear her footsteps padding her way to the closet. She lets out a gasp of her own. Seeing you curled up with your knees to your chest, seeing the healing bruises on your arms and legs. She kneels and takes her hands and puts them on both sides of your cheeks, so she can fully see you.
“Oh, my honeybee. You’re safe now. Nobody is gonna hurt you ever again. Okay? I won't let that happen.” You just let her hug you. You miss having a warm embrace with you. You miss that motherly love and affection. You missed the one person who truly believed in you, and who wanted you to succeed in your dreams. You missed your mom.
You just simply nod, and let more tears run down your face, but you feel your aunt wipe away those tears, and give you a gentle kiss on your forehead. The next thing you know, you’re gathering all of your stuff that you can fit in Aunt Penny’s car. Including some of your clothes for work and some shoes. But before you went out the front door you ran over to where the TV stand was, untape your necklace that was on the back of it. You knew Zeke would look for anything worth anything to you and pon it off. But you would never let him take this away from you, your mom got you a necklace with a honey bee-shaped charm on it for graduation.
You took everything you needed and went off with Aunt Penny to Fightertown U.S.A.
(Bradley POV)
You were walking into The Hard Deck like any other normal night. You’ve been at this whole routine since the mission was a success. Ever since then, you haven't been able to sleep. Not being able to sleep alone for that matter of fact. You've always wanted to have somebody, somebody to come home to. To have a warm body next to you, someone to have a conversation with, actually talk about something other than work. Instead of walking into an empty apartment, falling asleep with no noise, slowly diving into an abyss of nothing.
But now, you’ve found a group of friends that you can talk to, hang out with, and find a connection with people you haven't had in a long time.
All of the squad was there, including Mav. We were all having a good time playing pool and darts, drinking, and making jokes with everyone. Until we see out the window, Penny pulls into the parking lot super fast. Then we all look over at Mav a second later when he gets a phone call from Penny.
“Hey, Pen-” He stops talking, getting cut off by her, we can actually kind of hear her through the phone. “Hey, Hey… slow down hon. Okay. Okay, I’ll be right out. Bye, hon.” We all look at him in a confused state. Something wrong Mav?” Phoenix asks with a little bit of curiousness in her voice. Then all of us asked but with only our facial expressions. Then, he just gives us a confusing stair. Not knowing what to say after talking With Penny. “Rooster. Walk with me for a minute?” he asks looking at me. I just nod and leave the group to see what he’s looking for.
“What’s up, whaddya need?” I ask him with the same curiousness in my voice. “Penny…Penny’s niece is here, and she doesn’t want to go back to the house. She doesn’t want to leave her there. So, is it possible for you to just help me bring her into the back?” He asks you. You're just trying to wrap your head around your head the crazy information you've just heard. You just agree and walk out with him.
You both are out of the bar and slowly make your way over to Penny. When you do, you see her talking to someone. That must be her niece that Mav was talking about. you think to yourself. You see both of her legs on the seat, pulling them close to her chest, just looking out the passenger window staring into oblivion. You can see a little bit of the fading bruises on parts of her legs. You’re starting to put your fists into a ball, almost making them turn ghost white. Not a lot. Just a little though.
When you see Penny go around to the other side to collect her from the passenger seat, you see her cling to Penny, almost like she would disappear if she had let her go. But Penny just whispers to the girl sweet nothings and tells her everything is going to be all right. Then we walk both of them into the bar.
When we get in, the group looks at me and Mav. Wondering if we had any answer to what was happening. We just look back, and keep walking to the back where Penny’s office is.
Once we get back there Penny sits her down and just wraps her in a hug and kisses her on the forehead. I start to daze out for a second, I can’t help when I see someone giving someone/thing else affection.
It always brings me back to when someone close and important to me. My mom. She would always make things feel better, and she would always make sure I felt safe, loved and cared for. When I lost her, I felt so alone, and like I had nobody else in the world to love and take care of me. Sometimes I wish she was still here.
But I snap out of my daze and focus on the situation before me.
(Back to your POV)
The only thing I can keep my eyes on are the pictures hanging on her wall, and some framed on the shelves. Some pictures were of my aunt and my mom when they were young. God, she looks so pretty. You thought to yourself when looking back at the same honey-colored eyes that you inherited from her. Others were of you when you were a baby, all the way up to a teenager. Graduation day, sleepovers with your best friend Chantal, and holding your baby cousin Amelia with her drool falling onto the front of your shirt. Even though you thought it was so gross, but you didn't care. You just wish you could just close your eyes and go back in time. Going back to when you were younger. When your amazing mom was alive. To when you were the most happy.
You just wanted to be left alone, curl up into a ball hide away from the world, and never be seen again. Not only were you embarrassed that you were about to start crying like a fucking maniac, but you look up for only a second, and you see a really cute mustached guy standing across from you. You’re on a fuckin’ roll Beatrice!!
You see Penny crouch down on the floor to talk to you. “Hey Honey,” she said with a warm smile, I just muster up a half-one because you were feeling so tired and worn down. “I have to go back out just for a little bit, but I have someone who can wait here with you. Is that okay?” You don't answer just yet, but again you look up and see the cute mustache guy is still there. He smiles and gives a simple wave, not seeming too scary. You simply nod and she kisses you on the cheek “I’ll be back in a little bit Honeybee, if you need me, or anything just call out for me. Okay?” I just give a quiet “okay” and then she gets up to leave.
Both your Aunt Penny and the other man walk out the door to go back to work. Just leaving you and the Mustache guy alone. With nothing to do. “You speak up to him “You don’t have to stay with me if you-” he cuts you off. “Even though we’re not talking, it’s nice to have some company. Especially if it’s not with Bagman annoying the shirt out of everyone,” he says. I let out a little chuckle, but my smile fades a little bit when he tries to shut the door. “C-could you keep the door open… please,” I stand up and say a little loudly. He looks back at me and I cower back in the wheely chair. “Hey, hey it’s okay if you want to keep the door open. We’ll keep it open, we're playing by your rules. Okay?” a little bit of tension leaves your body, and you let out a big breath. Not knowing why you were holding your breath. You look up to him speaking again.
“Is it okay if I can sit next to you? I mean, on the floor if that’s okay with you,” he says pointing to the floor tile next to the chair. “Oh no, I don’t want you to sit on the ground,” you say wanting to put up a fight. But also kind of knowing you would lose because you couldn’t say no to this attractive, cute, and tall man. Snap out of it. You just met him, get your mind out of the gutter stupid!
“Don’t worry, it’s not a problem, I’ve been cramped in an FA/18 for hours. Sitting on the floor in a small office is a piece of cake,” he says while kneeling and taking the spot next to you. You wanted to giggle a little bit because of course your aunt has a small office, and you look at this man that’s as tall as a fucking oak tree trying to sit on the small, maybe a little bit dirty floor. Also seeing him scrunch his long legs close to his body. Trying to get me to think he is living his best life right now.
“I’m sorry, but I know for a fact that you are so uncomfortable right now,” you say to him, and starting to warm up a little bit. “Oh come on, I am living the life right now. Somebody get me a margarita.” he quietly yells out the front door. That has me leaning back in my chair laughing, which leads him to laugh with me.
After your laughter dies down a little bit, you both fall into silence, only hearing the rowdy patrons from the bar. You see him stick his hand out and start to speak. “I’m Bradley by the way. Bradley Bradshaw at your service.” You giggle a little bit more when his other hand comes up to his forehead to salute you. You were a little hesitant at first. Not wanting to fall into another trap. But for some reason, you feel sort of different around him. You feel a type of warm, and sweet comfort from him, you want to believe in yourself .He doesn’t seem so bad. But you try so hard to shove warm and lovey-dovey thoughts in the back of your mind. But you just can help it.
Just when he was about to drop his hand back down to his side, you put your hand out too. “Beatrice Benjmine. Also at your service.” You also offer the fake salute, then you hear him chuckle and take your hand to shake. His hand feels so warm, and calloused against your small dainty ones. You could also see a big size difference in your hands too, wanting to know what was also big about him. OH MY GOD BEA, What are you doing!!!
You snap out of your mind and come back in the moment. You both are still looking at each other. Hands still together and shaking. But you both drop each other hands and fall into a light conversation until you hear Aunt Penny coming into the office telling you it’s closing time and heading home. You and Bradley both decide to get up so he can walk you and your Aunt out to her car.
When all three of you were outside and walking to the car you heard Bradley speak up and talk to you. “It was nice meeting you, Beatrice. Hopefully, I will see you again,” Once again putting his hand up to salute you. You start to giggle. “It was a pleasure meeting you too.” you salute back. After that he walks past you to get the passenger door open, you give him a warm smile and get into the seat. When He closes your door you see him through the window smiling at you and giving you a small wave. You wave back when Aunt Penny starts to pull away, but you can see him in the rearview mirror walking over to a blue car and getting in, maybe going home himself. But you just stare back out the window watching the waves roll to the shore with the moon sparkling over the waves.
You want to believe Bradley is a good guy, that he wouldn’t hurt you like Zeke did. But you have a sense of love and protection he would have for his other friends he was talking about earlier. You wanted to trust your mind, but you couldn’t just yet.
Even though you just met him that night, you wish you could form a good and happy friendship with Bradley. But being your usual crazy self, thinking in the back of your mind. Only to hope it can turn into something a just little more.
I hope you all like the prologue for this story. I have a big story line for Beatrice and Bradley.

15 Day BL Challenge 2024 (PART 3):
Last part of this challenge. Again a special thanks to the creator of this challenge.
11 - Breakup that should have stayed broken up :
I can’t remember any breakup that should have stayed broken up from any series of 2024, but I remember how Zeke and Fifth were in Our Story, the sequel of Your Story. I will never forgive this series for what they have done to this couple. They are the perfect example of a couple who should never have gotten back together.
12 – Wedding you wish you had an invite to :
I think of two weddings I wish I was invited to. The first one is the wedding of Oye and Cher in Wandee Goodday. I was really rooting for them and this wedding was clearly something that matters a lot to them. The only bad part was that it wasn’t the wedding I envisioned for them. I could have helped them have a better venue and design for them. I know just the right people for this !
The second wedding, I would have loved to be invited to was the one of Fueang and Krom in City of Stars. I found them so sweet and cute. I’m sure their wedding would have the same feeling. I also believe a celebrity wedding must have a different vibe than any other weddings.
A special mention to Anop and Sin in My Love Mix-Up thai version. Don’t tell me there were no wedding for this two and if there weren’t, I’m sure they are thinking about it and I need to be invited to witness this moment.
13 – Give 5 good boys a gold star :
In no real order, these are my 5 good boys who clearly deserve a gold star.
Fueang (City of Stars) : He was a prime example of someone who fell hard and keep on falling harder each time. He was doing his best all the time and was really good at communicating with his lover. I was truly impressed by him, when he finally found the courage to tell the press about his sexual orientation and his story with his ex before everything escalates. He knew it would damage his career, but he did it anyway.
Taishin (Takara No Vidro) : I know he was sometimes a bit too naive, but I fell like he is the epitome of a sweet cinnamon roll. There is no malice in Taishin. I like how cheerful he always was and he tried very hard to understand things. I even thought he was kinda good at communicating, but in a very weird way.
Moo (Only Boo!): I love everything about this character. He was serious when it matters, but he also was happy, kind, honest and he had a playful side. In addition, he is a very caring boyfriend, son and friend to those around him that matters.
Yu (I Saw You in My Dream): I will just let you read what we (@putterphubase and I) said about him right here. I think you can find all the reasons why I believe he deserves this gold star.
God (Monster Next Door): He is a nice person that is really considerate about others. When his future lover set boundaries, he knew how to respect them. He tries very hard to make sure Diew is comfortable. He cares about others and never try to change them.
A special mention to Jane (The Trainee), Sahashi Toma (Comestic Playlover), Luna (23.5), Teerak (Your Sky)
Day 14 : Top 5 Most Sad Boy :
Namping (Every You, Every Me) : If you’ve seen the series, you know why. I’m still not over what happened to him. The few rays of sunshine he got at the end was not enough if you ask me.
Lee Do Hoe (Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo): This poor guy suffered from transgenerational trauma and it cursed his life for a long time. He may have gotten his happy ending, but he suffered so much.
Keito – Haoran (Happy At the End): His past is heartbreaking and unsettling and his present life wasn’t easier. He was an abandoned soul who found another broken one and they created a bond that was like no others.
Jiang Tian (the On1y One): He was a very lonely person before Wang became his “brother”. He isolated himself because of his family. He always kept his luggage ready to leave because he never found a home before where he wished he could stay.
Non (Dead Friend Forever): His life was a nightmare and he didn’t deserve what happened to him. His family, his friends, his lover… almost everyone abandoned him at one point. Even the revenge his brother did on those who wronged him, won’t change a thing. He had a very sad life.
15 - 5 bestest besties :
Fueang and Kor (City of Stars) : Kor is the best friend everyone wished to have. He always adds a bit of comedy, but when it's needed he can be serious and defend his loved ones. He was the best wingman to Fueang. Their close bond was witnessed by everyone.
Plawan and JJ (This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans) : It's not easy to be Plawan's friend, but JJ always knew what to say and how to help his friend. The dynamic of their friendship was one of the best points of the series.
Pan and Khem (Deep Night) : I will never forget about how Khem showed Pan that there is always a solution for every problem. You don't want your lover to feel sad and you have wet dreams about the other guy he loves ? Why not trying to be a trouple ? Only a true friend would be bold enough to tell you this!
All the friendships in We Are: There were several groups of friends, but I really keep in mind the OG group of friends made of Peem, Chain, Pun, Tan and Q. They were my favorites.
The group of friends in Caged Again: They are endearing and I like every moment they spend together.
#blchallenge2k24#ql series#ql drama#my thoughts#day 11 to day 15#I just noticed that there is a sequel to this challenge!

Choosing the Bear - Part 3 (Zeke x Bambi)
Shifter Paranormal Romance Supernatural is a Secret 2 of ???
Inspired by the Man or Bear in the Woods question/meme.
Bambi Barker never anticipated having to run for her life from her ex, Duke Walker, through an Appalachian forest. She also never thought she’d run into a white (polar?) bear in the middle of the god-dang forest, either.
Being stuck between a bear and a man, Bambi is about to get answers to questions she didn’t even know she had.
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚
Part 1 - Part 2 - Masterlist
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚
Zeke took a step toward Bambi, closing the space between them. His fists balled at his sides and seriousness pinched between his brows. “You can’t tell no one, y’hear?”
For a breath, Bambi stared up at him, surprised. Did he think she was so vapid as to go blabbing about this to the town?
“What would I tell them? Who would believe me?” Bambi shook her head, giving a bitter snort. She noticed how Zeke still held his shoulders, stiff with tension. Leveling a look at him, she bit out, “Most people didn’t even believe me about Duke.”
Though still wary, Zeke’s shoulders sagged a little bit. He cocked an eyebrow, tilting his head toward her. “What’s goin’ on there, anyhow?”
“I split up with him a couple years back, got custody of the kids, but he’s not lettin’ it go.” Averting her gaze, staring off into the darkness of the forest, Bambi sighed, “This time, he took it another step farther.”
“What are you gonna do about it?”
Her attention snapped back to Zeke, a frown creased at her lips. He stood there with his arms crossed over his chest, head cocked and that infuriating masked expression she couldn’t even read back in high school. “What can I do? He’s a Walker.”
Under his beard, Zeke’s lips thinned before he gave a nod. “And the Walkers got the Barfield cops on their payroll, so reporting the harassment and stalkin’ and kidnapping ain’t doing much.”
“Pretty much.” Bambi rolled her eyes and threw her hands in the air, frustration making her movements sharp. Silence fell after her short rejoinder. Heaving a sigh, she shook her head and crossed her own arms as she leaned against a tree. “Enough of my sob story. What’s going on with you?”
“Same old, same old.” He mirrored her body language, still facing her but also leaning back against a tree.
“I think I would’ve noticed a hulking white bear trawling through Barfield High, Zeke.” Her nose scrunched as she shot him a cheeky smile. A part of her realized how strange it was to be joking about this supernatural happening, but she couldn’t find the energy to care.
The familiar sour expression pinched at his face, bringing further amusement to Bambi’s lips. Her smile faded away when Zeke growled, “Drop it. Forget that happened.”
“Fine, whatever.” A familiar little ache shot through her, a frown overtaking her lips. Of course, he wouldn’t trust her. He didn’t trust her back in high school either. Hell, he didn’t seem to trust anyone. How in the world he ended up with a kid, she didn’t know. But she supposed one didn’t need to trust someone they fucked.
An owl hooted overhead and something scuttled in the bushes far to her left, reminding Bambi of her current situation. “Can you give me a lift back into town? I’m a little underdressed for a hike.”
“Can’t. I was out here foraging for the sanctuary. Gotta get back and take care of the animals.” Zeke rocked forward, off his tree and half-turned from the human woman. “If you head north, you’ll hit the highway in a little while.”
Bambi, on the other hand, hadn’t moved an inch. She did stare directly at him, her face frozen in an impassive expression. She was fairly certain he could see her in the dark better than she could him and he seemed to falter, seeing her lack of movement. “You expect me to go through the forest.”
“Yes,” he replied, his shoulders visibly tensing.
“In the dead of night. With my ex stalking the mountainside for me.” Now Bambi finally moved. She stepped closer to him, inclining her head and raising her eyebrows as her tone became steelier. “Not to mention mountain lions ‘n other bears or – Lord save me – other men out hunting for prey.”
She paused, conspicuously eyeing Zeke as she amended, “Well, human men.”
Pinching the bridge of his nose and closing his eyes, Zeke sighed. “Alright, fine. Stop the guilt tripping. Let me drop Mercy off at home and check on the animals, then I’ll take ya’ home.”
“Thanks, Zeke.” Tension that Bambi didn’t realize she’d been holding oozed out of her as her shoulders sagged.
His expression didn’t melt at her gratitude. “I ain’t bein’ kind. You gotta pay for gas by helpin’ with the animals.”
“Fine by me.” Bambi shrugged, undeterred by whatever chore he might have set his eyes on for her.
“Wait til you see what I’m gonna have you do.” In the dark, she caught sight of him grinning wickedly in the moonlight. It was probably meant to unsettle her or put her off, but it only served to get Bambi to meet his challenge head-on.
“Oh, by helping the animals, did you mean I’d be helping you—“ Her words choked off in a yelp as Zeke suddenly swung around, boxing Bambi against a tree.
As he leaned close, Bambi had to remind herself to breathe. Heat radiated off him and her nose filled with the scent of the woods and dirt and something wild. Zeke’s voice dipped low, a gravel to his words as his hot breath brushed over her cheek, “Don’t go sayin’ fool things, Bambi Barker.”
Covering up the effect he had on her, Bambi gave a slightly breathless laugh. “Aw, and here I thought I was talkin’ your language, Zeke Clements.”
When he pushed away, she caught the corner of the corner of his lip twitching upward under his beard. With a sigh that covered his amusement, he shook his head and turned away from her. “You’re just as impossible as I remember.”
“You’ve been thinkin’ of little ole me? How sweet.” Bambi fell into step behind Zeke, stepping carefully. With the adrenaline draining out, her legs were starting to tremble. Or that’s what she told herself. The aches of running around the forest were certainly catching up.
“You ain’t so little anymore.” Zeke scoffed, ducking to miss a low tree branch that Bambi didn’t even need to stoop for as she passed.
“Excuse me?” A flare of manufactured outrage made her forget of the pain in her feet.
He spun toward her so fast, she ran into his front. Before she could pull back and apologize – all offense forgotten with her own faux pas – warm hands squeezed her sides. She yelped, her hands going to Zeke’s forearms and leaning back as he leaned closer. His warm breath played over her shoulder as he taunted, “Packed on the pounds yourself. You even said so.”
Bambi swallowed down another inelegant sound when he squeezed her sides. A mish-mash of annoyance and fluster tangled in her gut. Before she could snap at him or mumble some sort of reply, Zeke’s nose twitched. His face tilted down and she heard another, deeper sniff.
“Where’s your shoes, Bambi?” He didn’t even look up at her. His voice had taken on the dangerous smoothness of a riptide.
“Duke took ‘em. Thought I wouldn’t run without ‘em.” Memories fluttered through Bambi, remembering the times when Zeke had previously taken on that voice. Usually, it resulted in a bully getting a walloping, whether it was a peer or even a parent.
He was madder than a hornet’s nest being used as a pinata. The thought knifed through Bambi, imagining what he thought. How pathetic she’d gotten since graduation. She’d heard enough about her failings from Duke.
Excuses lodged in her throat when Zeke suddenly scooped her up, one bulky arm under her knees and the other at her back. She gasped and instinctively looped an arm around his neck. “What do you think you’re doin’?!”
He’d already started walking again, sticks snapping under his heavy soles. He glared off into the distant night. Bambi thought they looked darker than they had a moment earlier. “Yer feet’re all cut up. I can smell the blood.”
“You didn’t have a problem with me walkin’ earlier,” Bambi shot back, her accusatory tone harkening back to his original plan to let her trek through the mountainside forest.
“Didn’t realize the blood I was smellin’ was yours.” Again, Zeke didn’t look down at her. He just continued glaring into the dark. Though Bambi thought there was an edge of guilt to his words. It was probably her imagination.
There wasn’t much to say in response. Her tired mind had gone to mush, anyhow. With her weight off her feet and the hypnotic rocking of Zeke’s walking, it was becoming harder for Bambi to keep her eyes open. The warmth radiating from the man and the steady thrum of his heart fought against the aches and pains in her body, as well.
Held by the bear of a man – true in more ways than one, Bambi deliriously thought – she slowly lolled off to sleep on that dark, dark mountainside.

Attack on Prime Incorrect Quotes: The Saga Continues
Main Story
Part Whenever
Hanji: I'm tired.
Optimus: You slept for three hours last night! Why are you surprised?!
Hanji: I'm not surprised. I just wanted to complain about it.
==
Levi: I want you to know that I’m judging you
Megatron: Don’t you always judge me??
Levi: Yes, but you’ve been extra quirky today so I have to let you know that it hasn’t gone unnoticed.
==
Hanji: Would you rather kill Eren, or—
Megatron: Yes, kill him.
Armin: They didn’t say the other option.
Megatron: I don’t need to hear it.
Eren: …I’m feeling a little unsafe.
===
Zeke: I can't believe you assassinated the Commander of Marley!
Megatron: Well, 'assassinated' implies it was politically motivated. I killed him because he was a dick, so technically I murdered him.
Zeke: That's not better!
===
Survey Corps: Can we ask you for a favor?
Optimus: I would literally die for you but continue.
Levi: We have got to talk about you starting sentences that way.
==
Beloved Timeline
Optimus: What am I supposed to do all day while you're off in Marley?
Elita:...I don't know? What do you normally do when I'm gone?
Optimus *Sniffing and tears up*: Wait for you to get back.
==
War Timeline
Hanji: We have fun, don’t we, Doc?
Ratchet: I have never been more stressed out in my entire life.
Jack: Wow, Miko, looks like you've been dethroned.
==
Armin: I...I think we have to kill Eren.
Megatron:
===
Pieck: So...how did you two meet?
Optimus glancing over at Megatron: ...You know, we actually legally can't answer that.
===
Beloved Timeline
Elita: Go on! Shout, scream, say something! Stunned as Optimus puts his servo on her cheek.
Optimus to Elita: You're as beautiful as the day I lost you.
Survey Corps:
==
Megatron: I don’t think you apologizing to me is a good idea.
Armin: Uh…why?
Megatron: Because when you do that, I inevitably feel bad and forgive you, and I really want to be mad.
Armin: But why would you want to be mad? I hate being angry, it ruins everything.
Megatron: Exactly. Ruining everything is kind of my thing, I can’t lose it.
==
Peaceful Timeline
Maria: Oshern, can you do me a favor?
Oshern: Of course, mo leanbh (my young child). Always.
Maria: Cool. Can you stop denying your feelings and tell Mama (Ymir) you love her — like love love her in that kind of way so the two of you can stop pining?
Oshern, spit-takes
Optimus: Maria, what?
Maria: Focus, Papa. This is important.
===
Megatron: I need help.
Levi: Two words.
Megatron I bet they won't be helpful.
Levi: Your. Problem.
Megatron: I was right.
===
(Based on a prompt of Hanji experimenting with dark energon and seeing Unicron)
Unicron: Hey, I bought your soul last month and-
Hanji: No returns.
Unicron: Please, it’s making me sad.
===
A million years later after the Dark Timeline Epilogue
Optimus: You're worth every tear I've cried since you died. You've always been.
Megatron: Optimus...
Optimus: *almost crying* So don't tell me you're not worth my tears, because you are. You're worth the tears of relief, and, and happiness. I missed you everyday.
Megatron: *hugs Optimus*
Optimus: *crying* I missed you, I'm happy, these are, these are tears, they're—
Megatron: *holds Optimus tighter* Happy tears. I know brother. I know now.
===
Arcee: Where's Buckethead?
Hanji: Don't worry, I'll find him.
Hanji, shouting: Optimus sucks!
Megatron, distantly: How fragging dare you!
Hanji: Told you he still cared about him.
====
Optimus dealing with another death/respawn situation: What's up guys, I'm back.
Hanji, crying: What the- you can't be here. You're dead. I literally saw you die.
Optimus: Death is a social construct.
====
Eren: I'm not traumadumping.
Eren: I'm telling you my villain origin story.
Arcee: That's fragging worse!
====
Levi: Someone will die -
Hanji: Of fun!
===
Random Marleyan: Wait, you're gay? Are you fucking serious?
Optimus: I'm bisexual, actually. And yes.
====
Peaceful Timeline
Ymir: ...You came...
Optimus: You called.
===
Megatron: The dwarf is telling me I'm going to die.
Armin:...Are...are you sick?
Megatron smirking: No, he just doesn't like me.
Levi: IMMA FUCK YOU UP ON TUESDAY!
===
Hanji: You are, of course, wondering why it is I have brought you here tonight.
Optimus: Actually Hanji, after all these weeks, I just sort of go with it.
===
Eren: Arcee, I just realized something. I had a bad childhood.
Arcee: Yeah, I know.
Eren: What do you mean you know?
Arcee: Look at you.
Eren: What do you mean look at me?
Arcee: Look at how you stand! People with good childhoods don't stand like that.
===
Arcee: *speaking Cybertronian*
Eren: I know, I know.
Wheeljack baffled: You speak Cybertronian?
Eren: No. I just know the phrase, 'this is all your fault' in every language.
===
*at Megatron and Eren's funeral in the Dark Timeline*
Armin: Optimus...it... it was a beautiful service.
Optimus: *staring up at thunderclouds* I'm glad it didn't rain. They hated the rain. *reaches up to wipe away tears* Why do I feel this way Armin?
Armin: Because you loved them, Optimus.
===
Hanji to Optimus: You are my best friend! If I'm dying, you're dying with me! Ain’t no choice!
===
Peaceful Timeline
Megatron to Maria: I was never afraid until you showed up.
===
Eren: When have I ever done something rash or irresponsible?
Optimus channeling his inner archivist: I keep a list. It’s alphabetized.

spoilers for the last aot episode?
Zeke as a character means so much to me and it's disheartening that he isn't talked about so much even in his death - if only in the context of Levi fulfilling his promise to Erwin.
He suffered his entire life. No one really loved him for who he was. To him, existing in that cruel world was meaningless; if all people die in the end, what's the point? Everything he ever cared about, he lost. His last hope - Eren - betrayed him, and though he'd doubted Eren's words from the beginning, he still chose to hope that maybe Eren will share his pain. That he'll understand, that he, too, was damaged by Grisha. The prospect of being alone in his suffering was too terrible for Zeke to accept, so he kept hoping, even when Eren told him outright that he was wrong. Of course Zeke lost in the end. He always loses. Life is meaningless and there is very little to cherish in a world as dark and terrible as theirs.
But then Armin helps him understand; perhaps it's not so bad after all. If only he could keep playing catch with Ksaver, Zeke would be glad to be born again and again. If only he could be young again. The simple act of throwing that ball back and forth could keep Zeke happy forever.
And it's just so touching and so terribly devastating to me that Zeke only came to see the beauty in the little things seconds before his death. It was such a good send off though; the same man who had always believed in the euthanasia plan helped stop the rumbling because he finally accepted that life was worth cherishing, even if just a little.

thingies about gortash from a big post i deleted but still wanted to keep somewhere
challenges in relationships?
considering the fact that i believe that gortash never cared for making genuine “friends” or staying in a relationship that wasn’t entirely manipulative and a tool to further his goals, this is a hard one for him. this is gonna be awful but i’d say the biggest challenge for him would be enduring spending his precious time with lesser creatures. i’ve said this before as a joke (‘allophobic gortash’ lol) but i think he has an especially low opinion of people like jannath who let themselves be used by him to sate their carnal lust. i have this sentence of his in my head ‘i do not concern myself with the perversions of lesser filth’ that describes his feelings on this pretty well. he still goes through with it of course, as he’d do anything if he deems it necessary, but i’d say that this is his biggest challenge in those relationships—so yeah how does he overcome it? his ambition lol. he sees what use someone could be to him and he will use them until they aren’t needed anymore.
do they believe in love at first sight? does physical attraction play a part?
i think from my “what zeke and i experience is greater than those foolish emotions these inferiors experience and cannot be described as love or hate or with any language created by mortals” posts you can tell that gortash has a very detached view of love. it’s not something that he experiences. maybe something like ‘love at first sight’ does exist for the cattle, but he does not concern himself with the concept any further. utterly beneath him. as for the second part of the question, i don't think gortash is 'attracted' to anyone, especially physical appearance wise, so no.
views on his own body
gortash views his body in very peculiar way i’d say. actual beauty standards don’t mean shit to him. like, said this before, but i don’t think all those posters of him in the game look different because he is vain and insecure about his advanced age, he’s just aware of the general public more likely leaning towards someone who’s 20, 30 years younger than he is. again, he will do what’s necessary and so on, but he’s not a fan of it by any means. if anything, he’s proud of his age, the signs of decades of long, hard work for the city. he views his body as it is as mainly another tool in his arsenal to use. (which is also why the only ‘problem’ he has with aging is a general decline of health, though he will do everything to prevent that as much as possible) but also. i think according to him the ‘correct’ way to look at his body is as if you’d look at something like an ancient religious mural. endless reverence rooted in endless fear of the divine. (and of course the only one who ever really does meet these expectations is zeke, if unwillingly :/)

Looking For Feedback: Updated Prologue Chapter of Supernova Initiative
I mentioned I was looking for feedback for this chapter of Supernova Initiative, and after some feedback from my friends and mutuals, I did some editing and am going to post the new version here now!
Please give me feedback on this new version! It's still not the final one!! 💕
Important Context: The Prologue chapters take place around ten years before the main story of the WIP takes place. Those chapters serve to establish character backstory and showcase how the MCs became the characters they are in the main story - which takes place almost ten years later, where all the MCs have become famous outlaws. Each backstory chapter follows important events of the MCs past, and establishes who they used to be before. (However, only the Jack & Cassie backstory chapter is a part of the prologue, all the other backstory chapters are peppered throughout the book). In this backstory chapter Jack is 15-years-old, Cassie is 8-years-old and Deimos 16-years-old. (In the Main Story, ten years later, Jack is 25, Cassie 18, and Deimos 26)
SUPERNOVA INITIATIVE
We’ll Make It to the Other Side
CETHEA III - TEN YEARS AGO
One could say Jack Tithus was having a bad day - in fact, he had been having ‘a bad day’ for the past couple of years. Good salaries were a far-gone illusion that Jack, and pretty much everyone else who called this broken moon a home, had long since forgotten. Right now, Jack took what he could get - and as things grew dire, started accepting gigs and odd jobs from lowlifes and mobsters of all kinds, having long since been familiar with their moon’s bustling, and cutthroat underworld. Yes, he was an errand boy for criminals, but at least it put food on his sister’s plate - and on especially lucky days, on his too.
Today was not gonna be either of those days, apparently.
“Hey, what the fuck?!” Jack counted and recounted the pitiful amount of units Zeke, the thug sitting leisurely on the swivel chair across the grimy desk, had tossed to him. He could not believe his eyes, and it took every ounce of self-control he had to not lunge across the desk and strangle the smug right out of the guy’s face here and now. He didn’t even get a quarter of the price they’d settled on the day before.
Jack hit the desk with his hand, rattling the cheap metal in his anger. “I did the job. It was so fucking dangerous, but I did it. Got the merchandise past those stupid guards at the Station. You said you’d pay me in full.”
The man across the desk burst into laughter. “And you were stupid enough to believe me?” Zeke mocked, lighting a neon-blue cigarette and leaning back on the chair “I just needed someone desperate and gullible enough to smuggle those parts to my clients. You fit the bill like a glove.”
Jack fumed, staring daggers at the man. “Oh yeah, Zeke? Well, I think maybe a broken nose would fit your face quite nicely.” His words came out with a bite to them and he closed his hands into fists “You sure talk a lot of game for someone who needs a teen to do your dirty work.”
At that, Zeke’s eyes turned dangerous. He took one slow, long drag from his glowing cigarette, letting the cyan smoke billow from his mouth lazily. At a motion from his head, two figures stepped out from the shadows behind Jack, seemingly out of nowhere. “If I were you,” Zeke began, coldly “I’d be grateful for the scraps and call it a day before you find some real trouble. You’re treadin’ on thin ice here, being this mouthy on Onyx Striker territory.”
The young man didn’t move, but he could see - from the corner of his eye - the guns glimmering on the duo’s holsters, ready to be drawn. The unspoken threat caused his bravado to falter - he swallowed nervously. Jack couldn’t afford the risk, he couldn’t leave Cassie all alone in the slums. Kids didn’t last long on their own around here, and when they did, it was at a cost. He couldn’t get himself killed for something stupid, as much as his pride told him to fight.
Thanks to the Junction, Jack and his sister, Cassiopeia, hadn’t had the concept of a ‘home’ or ‘money in a long, long while. And that as the basic reality for most of the mismatched families that managed to make it in Cethea III - the third and most forsaken moon of the frozen planet, Ivion, below. A Junction mining colony, where poverty and crime run amok, while the government strips their supplies dry day by day. Pride was a luxury most had to abandon early on in this place.
Swallowing his anger and all the instincts that told him to stand his ground. One last time, he tried to bargain, but this time more controlled. His attention didn’t leave the two thugs lurking behind him. “This isn’t enough, you know I have a sister -”
Zeke cut him off. “Eh, cry me a river.” The man took another drag of glowing smoke, and Jack instinctively held his breath - out of anxiety and rage combined “Fuck if I care, that ain’t a problem of mine. The brat’s yours. Ain’t none of my business and I ain’t wasting even more money on you.” The man dismissed him with a scowl, waving to the door vaguely. “Now scram, kiddo, before I change my mind and take back those units we already gave ya. I’m growing bored.”
Jack took in a sharp breath, instinctively clutching the small pouch of coins tighter, knowing they could be taken away at any moment. He glared at the thug for a moment longer, before relenting. “... Fine.”
He didn’t wait for an answer, instead turning around and pushing past the two men stationed behind him, storming out of the greasy and now smoke-filled office. “Stingy fucker.” Jack mumbled, mind racing faster than a hoverbike, a million thoughts a second. He didn’t look over his shoulder nor slow down his pace until the mob-owned building was far behind him.
As he trudged through the dusty, bustling streets and alleyways, he scrambled to figure out what he was going to do next. 5 units wouldn’t even be enough to pay for half a meal in the greasiest, cheapest diners of this settlement. It wouldn’t even scratch the surface. Jack wanted to curl up and die at the thought of telling Cassie they were gonna have to skip dinner tonight. Again.
He ran a hand through his hair with a drawn-out groan, trying to come up with good enough excuses that wouldn’t sound like blatant lies to a genius 8-year-old. The best he could come up with were excuses he’d already used a million times before. Which didn’t help at all.
Turning a corner around a quieter part of the slums, he made his way to the local junkyard. He knew the path with his eyes closed by now. Cassie loved the place - to her, it was like a playground where she could build as many bots as she wanted, and to him, it was a safe enough hiding spot for when he had to leave her unattended. He hoped to all the stars he knew that she had stayed put for the past seven hours like he told her to. She usually did.
Climbing over the broken chain fence wasn’t much of an effort, nor was finding a way to maneuver through the assortment of scrap metal and broken spaceship parts. After a minute or so of walking, he spotted a familiar head of blue-dyed hair barrelling toward him, as small arms wrapped around his waist tightly.
He let the resentment and anger he’d been feeling before wash away for a brief moment, thankful that his sister was here, and that she was okay. With an arm still wrapped around her shoulders, keeping her close, they began to make their way out of the junkyard.
Jack avoided the pressing subject of dinner, pushing it to the back of his head after giving up looking for solutions where there were none. He could feel his blood still boiling from his interaction with Zeke, and it took almost everything he had to hide the frustration and slip into his usual doting, brotherly role. Jack never wanted Cassie to be upset about things he should be able to solve. So, meanwhile, he asked something else, voice practicedly happy and calm, a complete opposite of the annoyance he was still feeling at the mob. “Did you have a good day, Cass?”
The girl, who was skipping along beside him, holding onto his arm, nodded. “I did, I think. Got bored after a while because you were so late, so I went for a walk in the city. Was pretty fun.”
Jack bit back the knee-jerk instinct to berate her for wandering into that settlement alone, “Yeah?” He hummed instead, in a kind tone, injecting optimism into his answer despite his every thought “That’s good. A bit risky though, but sounds fun indeed! Did any of the other kids give you any trouble?” They stopped by the broken fence once more, and Jack gave her a boost to get over it, before following suit with ease.
Once on the other side of the fence, standing once more at an alley, Cassie answered, holding his hand “Not really. Some older kids were being loud and causing trouble at a pub. Didn’t go near them though.”
Jack sighed in relief, “Good,” He nodded at her “You did the right thing, never get involved with those sorts, ever. They could hurt you.”
He wasn’t sure if Cassiopeia was listening, as she seemed pretty focused on following the cracks on the concrete, walking over them like someone tracing a line on the floor. Jack found it cute and didn’t bother repeating himself at the moment.
They wandered aimlessly for a while, taking the ‘scenic route’ - if one could call anything on this heap of space rubble scenic - around the settlement. Jack was in no hurry to find somewhere to stop, as it would mean facing that subject, so he simply let Cassie ‘guide’ him around town.
Eventually, after crossing a tight street, weaving their way through passersby, vehicles, and robots alike, the siblings reached one of the city’s few ‘plazas’. Calling the place ugly and unsightly would be an understatement, but at least it allowed for freer movement than the cramped alleyways behind him.
However, a commotion drew their attention, and Jack skidded them to a halt. An armored Junction airship was landed in the middle of the square, surrounded by officers in their tight, grey uniforms. A man, who seemed in his mid-thirties, could be seen struggling against the soldiers, clutching some kind of bag in hand. He must’ve stolen something - and by the looks of it, that something was food. A quick punch from one of the Sentries ended the struggle, and as the man doubled over in pain, his arms were quickly restrained in cuffs, the bag swiftly removed from his grasp as the officers pushed him towards the vehicle.
Jack felt his heart tighten in sympathy but began walking in the opposite direction, gesturing for Cassiopeia to follow quietly. The last thing he wanted was for the Sentries to turn their attention towards them, once they were capturing that poor man. Jack knew how Junction Sentries functioned - and he knew you didn’t have to do anything wrong to be put under their aim. You just had to be born here - that was enough to earn their disdain.
Once the commotion was out of sight and the sounds of sirens gave way to the familiar buzz of the city’s center, with voices overlapping, cars flying past and a myriad of other familiar sounds filling their senses, Jack muttered bitterly, under his breath, to no one in particular “I can’t wait for us to get outta here. I hate this fucking place.”
Still holding onto his hand, Cassie seemed to have caught onto his words, despite all the background noise. “Mhm.” She hummed in agreement, nuzzling closer to his arm. Before he could reply, she skipped a few stones on the ground as if she were playing hopscotch, each jump punctuating her words, “Got us some snacks though!”
Jack couldn’t believe his ears, blinking rapidly at the concept “You… you did?”
Cassie didn’t look over her shoulder, still skipping stones “Yep.” She answered simply, apparently unaware of the importance of what she just said “Saw some folks at this fancy eatery-place throwing out a box of tarts because they didn’t sell the week before. It’s a bit stale but tastes good enough.”
Jack could sob in relief right now - in fact, he almost did, barely holding onto his composure by a thread as he let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. He stopped walking for a moment, simply basking in this moment, watching her absentmindedly skipping around ahead of him after basically saving their night. After a second, he caught up to her once more, playfully ruffling her hair.
She giggled, batting at his hand and combing down her now-tousled hair. Jack smiled down at her. “You’re the best, Cassie. Did you know that?”
Cassiopeia looked up at him with bright, mischievous eyes. “Mhm. I’m pretty amazing.” She beamed, proud of herself.
Jack laughed, nodding “That’s the Cassie I know.”
As they continued walking down the empty, Cassiopeia always skipping and running ahead, Jack enjoyed the feeling of a weight lifted from his shoulders, for a split second, before the feeling returned tenfold once they walked into another alley. There were droplets of what looked like blood splattered on the concrete - and before he could tell Cassie to slow down and get away, she’d already turned the corner. That same corner. The one with the blood.
His heart skipped a beat, “Cassie, wait!” He yelled as he ran after his sister, ready to yank her away from whatever was waiting for them in that alley, but stopped in his tracks once he turned the corner. There, hidden behind a metal trashcan and broken containers, was someone. Someone around his age, who looked a little more than worse for wear.
“...Is he dead?” Came his sister’s blunt question, shaking him from his shocked ‘trance’. Jack watched the strange kid intently for a moment, tilting his head to the side as he tried to gauge whether or not the other was dead or alive. The boy didn’t seem quite completely conscious, but they didn’t look dead either.
“I…” Jack stammered. “I, um, I’m not quite sure myself.” His answer was as unsure as he himself was right now. Every fiber of his being screamed for him to grab his sister and get them both away from this place and this random person right now. But another portion of him seemed to claim that it wouldn’t be right. His conscience, apparently.
“Maybe we should just go away…” Jack said, tentatively trying to ignore his better judgment, tugging on Cassie to come back near him. The eight-year-old looked outraged and sad at the same time.
“But he’s hurt!” She protested, pointing at the limp figure near the wall “He needs our help. We can’t just leave.” Then she added, with big, sad eyes, like a puppy “You always say we should be kind to others. That we should help those we can help,” By the looks of it, and the sound of her voice, she knew exactly what she was doing. And Jack hated that it was working.
“Ugh, don’t you turn my words against me,” He complained, rolling his eyes and crossing his arms over his chest. She continued staring up at him, and there was a long moment of silence - Jack didn’t want to budge, and neither did Cassie. Eventually, her puppy-eyes won. Jack groaned. “Fine, fine. But if I get stabbed, I say it’s your fault” He says, half-heartedly poking at her, to which Cassie answered by sticking out her tongue at him and making a face.
Moving toward the other teenager, Jack could see a bit more of their appearance - they weren’t human, that much was clear. Bright blue skin, long ears, dark blue hair. Peeking their mouth, which hung slightly agape, Jack could see a row of small fang-like teeth, as he closed the distance and knelt down beside the stranger. From what he could tell, this kid was a Zatrian - a species native to the tundra deserts of the planet below - who had somehow ended up battered and bruised on a grimy alleyway in Cethea III. Someone else was also having a very bad day, it seems. That level of irony wasn’t lost in him.
Jack, hesitantly, reached forward, giving the figure’s shoulder a gentle nudge. Deep down he didn’t know if he wanted the figure to stir or not - he knew it was a selfish notion, but years of ingrained survival instincts told him a situation like this was often a perfect setup made by a gang looking to mug whoever intended to play the good samaritan. It never did them any good to help someone they didn’t know. Still, a small, shy part of him, for reasons he could not quite comprehend, hoped that this kid - whoever they were - would respond.
At his nudge, the other boy whined softly in discomfort - but didn’t seem to rouse.Jack frowned, growing unsettled with this alleyway more and more with every passing second, wishing for this to be done with as soon as possible. He tried again, with slightly more strength “Hey, can you hear me? Hello?” Jack asked as he shook the other’s shoulder a few times. It seemed that the figure would remain unresponsive, but when Jack was about to give up, the boy finally stirred, eyes blinking open with a groan of pain.
Grey eyes, first glazed over with pain and confusion, then filled with a look of sheer dread and panicked rage that Jack knew all too well, met his. Before he respond or do anything really, the boy stumbled backward with a sudden jerk, which caused him to hit his head on the wall behind him. “G-Get back!”
The alien yelled, followed by a cat-like hiss that took Jack off-guard. He pushed himself further and further into the corner between the trash can and the wall, curling into himself as tightly as he could, pressed against it, The figures’ eyes flitted between Jack, who was still kneeling near him, and Cassie, who was standing a few feet away, with her brows furrowed in a puzzled look.
Unsure of what to do, Jack withdrew his hand, instead raising it in a placating gesture. “Hey, hey, hey... Take it easy” He said, in a clear voice, backing a feel inches away himself - fearing that the kid may lash out. Those claws, a detail of the alien’s hand that Jack had only just noticed, looked sharp. “We’re not here to hurt you.”
Apparently the gesture was anything but calming, as when he backed away and raised his hands slowly, the boy cringed way with a violent flinch, hugging himself and pointedly looking away for a moment. As if expecting to be hit, Jack realized. That reaction alone said more than words ever could, and despite himself, Jack felt his walled up heart thaw a little bit.
Finally, after a drawn-out while that felt like an eternity, the alien boy realized nothing was going to happen, and looked up once more. There was a sharp look of distrust and paranoia in his eyes, one that Jack knew all too well - he often saw that same look reflected in the mirror. Much to both of their surprise, the boy spoke.
“...What do you want with me?” His voice was weak and fearful, carrying a sharp accent, though it seemed he tried to inject as much venom into the words as he could “ His face scrunched up into what was supposed to be a menacing look, but he only looked more anxious.
Jack answered, using the same calming voice as he used when Cassie had nightmares. It usually worked, and though he wasn’t quite sure of why he was even doing any of this “We want to help.” He gestured to himself and then to his sister, trying to muster a reassuring smile but still eyeing the boy anxiously, as if waiting for something to go wrong and for trouble to begin. Cassie waved at the other boy, who seemed even more confused, before Jack added, trying to provide some much needed explanations “Look, we kinda…stumbled into you - not literally, but y’know what I mean - and you looked like you needed help. You seem pretty hurt…”
At that, Jack’s words trailed off. He saw a deep, crimson stain pouring from the torn up sleeve of the boy’s shoulder, and noticed how the other nursed that arm protectively, holding it to his chest, face scrunched up in a grimace of pain. He was no expert, so he couldn’t quite tell if it was a stab or a gunshot wound, but thankfully by the looks of it, whatever had caused it had only grazed the arm.
Better than the alternative, Jack guessed. Though it must still hurt like hell.
Jack opened his mouth to say something, but the other boy was faster, cutting him off as he spoke instead. “Ha. As if someone like you would want to help someone like me.” His breathing was labored, pained, but even then, Jack could feel the resentment and sarcasm in his voice “I know… I know your kind. It’s all just a big game. And I won’t go back to that place -” The boy’s voice cracked, but he steeled himself with a growling, bitter chuckle “You can’t trick me like they did. I won’t fall for it.”
Jack tilted his head to the side ever so slightly, cocking an eyebrow in confusion, trying to make sense of what the other meant. “Who said there was any trick? Why would there be any?” He asked, genuinely, glancing over his shoulder slightly to check on Cassie. She gave him a shrug, just as lost as he was, “We have no clue who you are, my guy - we only just happened to find you. By accident. And you look like you need help so someone” Jack nodded towards Cassie “convinced me to come check on you. And that bleeding arm of yours only confirms that yes, you do need help. So let us help.”
Jack wasn’t quite certain if he wanted to help this guy they’ve just met. It could very well end poorly. Very poorly and very bloodily. But he already started this, so he might as well commit to the whole thing now.
Meanwhile, the boy seemed torn between giving into relief or succumbing to fight-or-flight instincts and trying to dart away. Jack was certain that, if it wasn’t for the exhaustion the other must be feeling, that kid would have run away the second he woke him up. Instead, he narrowed his eyes, looking at Jack suspiciously. “Leave. Me. Alone.” The boy hissed, punctuating every word in that sentence, a jaded, tired look in his eyes.
Jack facepalmed slightly for a moment, dragging his hands down his face in frustration, before taking a deep breath and collecting all the patience he didn’t have to continue this conversation. This dead-end conversation. In a shady alleyway. With someone he did not know.
“Look, let me be open with you real quick: I don’t want to be here, and she doesn’t want to be here, in this exact situation and place, either. So I think if we could move the topic forward a bit that would be great.” He said, gesturing vaguely to the other in hopes that he would develop the conversation a bit more. When the kid remained seethingly silent, waiting for an answer Jack sighed, “Okay, then.”
He pinched the bridge of his nose. After a second more of silence, his patience wavered and Jack stood up, dusting off his clothes and turning to Cassiopeia with a shrug. “Eh, fuck it. I can’t deal with this right now.” Jack gestures for her to follow him, but his sister won’t budge. He groans in frustration and stops in his tracks. “We tried, Cassie. Kid’s hopeless, and if he’s keen on being a sitting duck to a mugger, let him. This alley looks wrong in all the worst ways.”
He tried to reason with her, hand outstretched waiting for her to grasp it. For a moment, it looked like his sister would agree, before instead of taking his hand she sauntered over to the blue-skinned alien still curled up near the wall. Jack stared at her silently, a mix of tired frustration with deadpan disbelief as she crouched down close to the other kid. “You’re from Ivion, right? The planet this moon orbits?” She asked, innocently, head tilted to the side. Surprised, Jack could hear it in her voice that she was going somewhere with this, so he just watched, ready to yank her away in a second if he sensed any danger. The alien boy didn’t move for a moment, curled up like a statue with big, fearful eyes, before silently nodding. Cassie continued, “If so. Um. How did you end up…?”
He saw Cassie gesture vaguely to their bleak surroundings and then to the boy himself, the absurdity of their situation painting a clear enough picture on its own. Much to Jack’s surprise, who half-expected the other kid to just shut down or worse, straight up push her away, he saw Deimos, slowly, ever so slowly, uncurl himself from where he was pressing up against the wall. The boy fiddled with what looked like a colorful string bracelet for a moment, pensive, but still seemed tense like a string ready to snap. His eyes seemed distant, confused and terrified at the same time, and Jack instantly knew that, whatever the answer was, it wasn’t going to be anything good. And he briefly wondered if he should let Cassie stick around to hear it.
“Bad people. Raiders.” There was a quiver to his chin, and his words are less coherent, sentences cutting off sharply, as he painfully struggled to put his thoughts into words “There was so much blood. So much. Raiders said they would sell me.” Deimos started to hyperventilate, trying to catch his breath as he hugged himself tightly “... I don’t remember… I don’t remember how I escaped. I- I don’t know anymore -”
The other kid’s words had a slightly…broken edge to them - a sound that born out of desperation, panic, rage and all things in between. He noticed that Cassie seemed slightly concerned - and anxious, if the way she tugged on the strings of her backpack was any indication. Startling even himself, Jack felt his legs move of their own volition, gently pushing past from where he was standing next to his sister until he was once more kneeling at arms-reach of the kid.
The boy seemed tired - too tired to keep arguing, too tired for anything anymore, like he was giving up, looking up at him as if he simply didn’t care what happened next anymore. Jack didn’t need a full explanation to get the picture, to understand what the boy was feeling. He felt it himself almost daily.
Without saying a word, Jack pulled the other boy into a hug, for reasons he could not comprehend - and it seems that was an action that surprised both of them. The alien stilled, frozen like a board for a moment, too shocked to move. Meanwhile, Jack himself was confused out of his mind - he’d never trusted people like this. Usually, he would have suspected any story like that was a lie. But somehow, this one felt different. Likely it was just his ‘big brother instincts’ taking over, or maybe, and that thought surprised him even more, he hoped this day could get a little bit… ‘less bad’.
The concept was almost laughable, given all of their circumstances
He thought for a second that the alien boy would surely push him away, but then, he felt two skinny, long arms wrap around him, hesitantly but surely.
The boy melted into his hug, and Jack realized that was probably the first kind physical contact this guy had felt in a long, long while. Tears wet his shirt, and Jack was unsure of what to do, but he let the boy hold onto him for as long as he needed. After a few minutes, Jack let go and put his hand on the other’s shoulder “I’m sorry for what happened to you. Seriously.” He turned to look at Cassie, who was looking at them with a mix of confusion and awe. She gave him a thumbs up, and Jack chuckled. “So, this is gonna sound really weird, but what do you say we stick together?” He stretched out a hand, waiting for Deimos’ answer.
The alien gave him a puzzled look.
“Whatever do you mean?” He asked, tilting his head sideways, trying to analyze him.
Jack shrugged. “Well, I dunno” He sat cross-legged on the floor, tired of crouching down “You’re all beaten up, we’re starving, and there’s no one to look out for kids like us. Maybe we could… stick around each other and see what happens? Look out for each other maybe, just maybe…”
He could not believe the worlds coming out of his mouth. Either this day had driven him mad or he was really looking for trouble. Jack almost cringed, but even have the energy to care anymore, he just waited for an answer.
As the alien boy seemed to mull over the offer in his mind as well, Cassie piped up, slinging her arms around Jack’s shoulders a tad too suddenly. “...We got food!” She said, like someone tempting a cat, pointing to her threadbare, butterfly backpack. Somewhere, in his mind, Jack was digging himself a grave and giving up on life. He regretted even saying anything. He regretted all his life choices including getting up from bed today. Nice going, Cass. Now we’re definitely getting mugged.
Jack immediately craned his head to protest Cassie’s offer, a million rebukes at the tip of his tongue - that was their food. Her food. Food they needed so badly and couldn’t afford to share it with someone else they’d just barely met… Before he could even say anything, however, the words died in his throat - he saw the hopeful glint in the other boy’s eyes at the prospect of dinner. He recognized that same, desperate hoping without hope, look - he knew how much a ‘no’ hurt in that situation, when one’s far beyond caring for pride and only wants to survive. It killed a part of him he could never get back, everytime something like that happened to him.
Cassie looked at him expectantly, and he hated how, instead of standing his ground and saying ‘no’, he relented with a sigh. “Alright, alright” He said to her, playfully sharply. “It’s fine. You win this round.” His voice was fondly resigned.
She gave a joyful, enthusiastic hurray, at that. To Jack, that almost made up to the fact that they were going to have to share their already limited dinner with another kid they barely knew. Just almost.
As Cassie sat down beside him, swinging her backpack from her shoulders and unceremoniously plopping it down on the dusty ground, Jack spoke, pinching the bridge of his nose again and willing himself to have patience. “So, you heard her. We’ve got… ‘dinner’.” He said that word with air quotes to emphasize his point “Are you going to join us or is The Corner too comfy to move away from?”
He looked at the other boy, waiting, impatiently, for an answer.
A bit too slowly for his liking, the alien slowly peeled himself from where he was basically cosplaying as a wallpaper, and sat down closer to them, mirroring their crossed legged positions. “...Yes. Let’s.” He said in a small voice, plainly. The kid’s mouth seemed to water at the simple thought of food, and Jack couldn’t help but feel sympathy for the fellow.
While that transpired, Cassie had already opened her backpack, placing a dented and slightly stained cardboard box in front of the three of them, opening it quickly. “I think its cheese tarts” His sister said bluntly “I think. It tasted a bit funny.”
Jack knew that was Cassie’s attempt to make some small talk but cringed inwardly just the same at the implications. He hoped their new ‘friend’ - who was still essentially a stranger whose name they didn’t even know - didn’t mind.
There were a few of those pocket tarts in the box, a jumbled assortment. They looked like they would have been tasty, fresh off the frier - though now they looked like they’d be tough to chew on. Luckily though, there seemed to be enough to divide it between the three of them equally - something Jack considered a rare treat, given that someone else was eating with them. He couldn’t help but think about how the snack might’ve lasted longer if it was just the two of them, but quickly suppressed the thought.
Without wasting a second, the trio got to eating the now-cold, fried morsels. At a first bite, Jack immediately understood what Cassie had meant by ‘it tasted funny’. The pastry was chewy, but not in a good way. In an insistent, sticky way that was hard to swallow. It seemed to have absorbed some of the plastified cardboard taste, and that… didn’t make it tastier, to put it shortly. Still, it was better than nothing. Much better than nothing.
And it seemed that their new alien ‘friend’ agreed, given how he absolutely devoured all three of his tarts in record breaking speed. If Jack hadn’t been feeling just as hungry, he might’ve even have been a bit astonished. As it stood, Jack didn’t think twice about it.
Sooner than he would’ve liked, the cardboard box was empty, with nothing but a few scattered crumbs, crumpled napkins and oil stains littering it. His stomach seemed to still need more, even though there were none. At this point, Jack was just grateful that this day hadn’t gone from a ‘bad day’ to the ‘worst day’. Small wins, but still wins.
Wiping off his fingers on one of the napkins, and then straightening his clothes, Jack stood up, stretching himself a little bit.
The weight of this entire day - which was, quite frankly an ordeal after the other - was catching up to him, and quick.
After adjusting Cassie’s backpack on her back and making sure to dust off her clothes properly, he turned to the alien boy once more. “So.” He started, a bit awkwardly, trying to come up with the words he needed “We had this… moment. Ate together and all that. I think an introduction’s in order: I’m Jack, and she” He gestures at his sister, who was admittedly giddy for some reason “Is Cassiopeia, my sister. I call her Cassie for short. What’s your name?”
He gave the boy his best friendly smile, and hoped that after all that the guy would finally start to open up a little and help break the awkward ice. If he didn’t, Jack was almost 70% sure he would implode out of frustration right then and there.
Luckily, the other kid, who was still nursing the wound on his arm, spoke up after a few seconds “...Deimos.” He answered, a bit too under his breath, before quickly adding “My name, is Deimos Soll. My full name.”
He seemed shy - looking torn between his fight-or-flight reflexes and giving two strangers a chance. Jack could understand how overwhelming that felt - after all, he was taking a similar gamble by helping him.
Still, ignoring his best judgement entirely, he reached out a hand to Deimos, hoping to help him get to his feet so they could get out of this filthy alley once and for all.
Swiftly and without a second thought, Deimos grasped his hand, latching onto it like a lifeline. Somehow, despite this being a random kid he just met, Jack felt as if a silent pact, was being made. He didn’t know why and it was one hell of a strange feeling, but he preferred it over the alternatives. Though it is far too early to even consider calling… whatever this strange ‘truce’ is a friendship, Jack definitely was glad that this interaction ended up amicably.
Jack helped Deimos up, hauling him up from the floor with considerable effort. As he helped the other maneuver into standing, Jack realized just how much taller Deimos was from him - he’d met few people who’d reached that height before coming of age. Supporting him to the best of his abilityuntil he was sure the other had gained his footing, Jack said, “Alright, since we’re apparently gonna do this, we need to get that wound” He gestures to Deimos’ free arm, the one who isn’t wrapped around his shoulders, “Fixed up. I think given our recent ‘feast’ you can tell we don’t have the funds for that” Jack adjusted his grip on the taller teen, as Deimos’ legs faltered slightly. “We can shoplift some supplies, but that would imply risking getting caught by those prim and proper arseholes in armor and that we’ll need to be lucky enough to do everything right. Or…” Jack muttered a swear word under his breath “I can cash in a favor. But it isn’t gonna be easy. I know a retired mobster lady who owns a tattoo shop and has some - and I mean some - first aid knowledge, but she always asks something in return.”
Deimos looked at him, befuddled. “Why are you helping me like this?” He asks, this time not judgemental, but genuinely curious, “I don’t think I quite understand.”
Jack stammered to find an answer. He didn’t quite understand what or why he was doing this either. “Well…” He trailed off for a moment, “I’m not quite sure. You were hurt, my sister convinced me to help you. We had a snack together. Kinda feels weird to not help you now, I guess. Plus, its the right thing and all that. I hope.”
The young alien seemed intrigued, but was satisfied with this answer for now, it seems. Or simply just didn’t have the energy to ask any more questions, which wouldn’t be surprising given his state.
With his free hand, Jack motioned for Cassie to follow.
Once she saw that Jack trusted the other boy, for some reason, Cassie came running towards them, tugging on Deimos’ shirt and almost making him lose his balance. She had a bright, kid-like smile on her face. “Hi! I’m Cassie. Jack told you already, I saw, it’s nice to meet another kid! Why do you look blue? Are you made of ice? I heard that Ivion is made of ice, are you too? I like the winter, winter’s nice…” Her endless string of questions continued into almost unintelligible rambles. Deimos looked at Jack as if asking for emergency help in handling whatever that was, Jack chuckled, starting to walk slowly so that the other could keep up with him. “Get used to it, haha,” He said playfully “There is oh, so much more where that came from.”
Deimos keened slightly “Why am I already reconsidering our partnership?” He said, this time with a mischievous smirk. Jack knew they were on the same page, and chuckling, continued walking them both out of the alley, as Cassie rambled on ahead of them about her knowledge of planets, stars, and constellations.
Her ramble paused for a moment, as she heard their little conspiratory quip. She turned around, little arms crossed over her chest - she wanted to look angry, but given her entire style and age, she just looked more adorable. “Hey!” She protested in a playfully berating tone, imitating authority “I heard that, mister alien-guy. Just because, I’m gonna talk even more now!” She chuckled after her mock ‘scolding’ and went back to skipping stones and rambling even faster about an assortment of different and increasingly unhinged topics, just out of too much spite and sass on the same small package.
Keeping a close eye on Cassiopeia ahead of them, Jack began maneuvering Deimos down the alley. Well, all things considered, this bad day actually ended better than most of his usual days. They ate something serviceable, met someone new who did not want to kill him, and got to unwind a bit. Overall, not quite such an awful day as it had started out. From there, they walked to Madam Cyrax’s tattoo parlor, where, with luck and a bit of smooth talking, they could get that wound fixed up half-nicely.
Though he knew that this might just be yet another debt to pay in the future, he found it worth it to help this unusual ‘friend’ they met.

I swear to god, if I see one more person say Levi wanted to kill Zeke for "revenge" and blubber on about how revenge "blinded" him and that's why he got caught in the thunderspear explosion, I think I'll throw myself off a cliff.
It had nothing to do with revenge, or a desire for self-satisfaction. It was an entirely selfless pursuit, undertaken in the memory and in honor of his fallen comrades, the ones who gave their lives that day in Shinganshina. I've been over this so many times, I'm not going to go over it again in detail here. But anyone who doesn't yet understand that is, I'm sorry, fundamentally flawed in their understanding of Levi's character. This isn't an interpretation. Levi explicitly states that the reason he wants to kill Zeke is to prove his comrades deaths had meaning. He says it. Not only is the idea that Levi wanted Zeke dead for revenge and that he was "blinded" by that desire fundamentally flawed in its understanding of Levi's character, it also completely lacks logic. If Levi was really "blinded" by a quest for revenge, he would have just killed Zeke at the first opportunity he had, regardless of the consequences. He would have killed him in Shinganshina. He would have killed him in Liberio. He would have killed him in the forest. And yet, he didn't, specifically because he wasn't blinded by his need to kill Zeke at all. He had a calm and rational mind about it the entire time, one he continued to exercise to the very end.
And this idea that Levi getting caught in the thunderspear explosion was some sort of "comeuppance" for his violence or his blind desire for Zeke's blood is equally illogical and absurd, and again, completely misunderstands the source of Levi's rage in that moment. Anyone who claims so is engaging in some serious, holier than thou moralizing. Levi torturing Zeke in the cart on the way back to the Capital had nothing to do with his vow to kill him. Levi was grieving, and in a massive amount of emotional distress, because Zeke had just forced him to kill nearly 30 of his own comrades. Men and women Levi had, as with all his comrades, sworn to protect and people for whom he was directly responsible. People that posit this idea that Levi somehow deserved to "pay" for his anger in this moment are essentially claiming that it's always "wrong" to hate or be angry at someone when they've brutally wronged you. That we're always supposed to be "the bigger person" and "forgive" them and "turn the other cheek" and all that moralistic bullshit, and if you don't, then you deserve every bad thing that comes your way. Get the fuck out of here. Levi had EVERY right to be as angry as he was in that moment, and I'm sorry, but anyone who denies him that right is an asshole, and a hypocrite, because there's no such thing as anyone who wouldn't have been viciously, violently angry at someone who had just forced you into slaughtering your own friends and colleagues. Taken especially within the context of who Levi is, with the understanding of how driven he is by the need to protect life and help people, with how much value he places on people's lives, it puts into perspective just exactly how cruel it was what Zeke did to him. How exactly was Levi meant to react? Are we meant to judge him for being as angry as he was? For resorting to violence? Is anyone really going to sit here with a straight face and claim that they wouldn't have felt and done exactly the same in his shoes? I don't buy that for a minute. Most people wouldn't have even possessed Levi's level of restraint. They would have simply killed Zeke, and to hell with the consequences.
Further, Levi's very words to Hange about not understanding how prepared Zeke was to die show that he wasn't purely fueled by anger either, in this moment. It was a rational choice on his part to hook Zeke up to that thunderspear, insurance against his attempted escape, because he believed Zeke wasn't prepared to die, something I've talked about before, here: https://www.tumblr.com/cosmicjoke/746918499422781440/one-thing-i-dont-think-people-really-consider?source=share
Further still, if Isayama had intended for Levi’s desire to kill Zeke to be interpreted as revenge, and all the negative connotations of that, he would have had Levi realize the foolishness of his actions immediately after nearly being blown to Kingdom Come, and shown him remorseful and regretful in that moment over wanting Zeke dead, since, supposedly, him nearly dying was meant to be his lesson and punishment in the foolhardiness of revenge’s pursuit, according to these people. Yet Levi showed no such remorse or regret for wanting Zeke dead, only for him not understanding Zeke’s willingness to die. And Isayama himself wouldn’t have spoken about one of the reasons he didn’t kill Levi being how Levi’s journey wouldn’t be complete without him fulfilling his vow. Levi’s desire to kill Zeke was never framed in a negative light for a reason.
This total misinterpretation of Levi's motives with regard to Zeke is the source of so many of the negative and hateful views about his character that we see floating around, and yet it's continually perpetuated by people, over and over again, and I'm sick of it.
Levi never wanted revenge. He only ever wanted to ensure his comrades didn't die for nothing. It was a noble goal. Revenge isn't noble. But wanting to honor your friends and comrades memories and lives is. Levi never deserved to be punished for that, and honestly, fuck you to anyone who says he did. It takes a particular and acute lack of self-awareness and arrogance for anyone to make such a sickening and cruel claim.

Heist Highlights and Late Nights
When Tina grows up, she ends up being a writer. She loves writing her erotic friend fiction and romance novels, but as her day job she's a journalist for the Seymours Bay newspaper.
Zeke works in the restaurant with Bob and when he comes home he always has to make sure Tina isn't overexerting herself. Especially on days like today, when she's investigating a local heist and the leads for the story she's been working on have run dry and she's still up at the table sorting through her notes when he comes home even though it's later than he'd normally get in.
"Come on T-Bird, just take a break for a lil while and eat something with me."
He'd sit and listen to all her theories and help her sort through them, making sure she ate what he assumed was her first meal since breakfast since she never took care of herself during a story like this.
Tina would be at her wits end with all the different rabbit holes she would have traced the heist down, and we all know that Bosco and the other detectives were useless.
Someone had staged a robbery at the Wharf Arts Center during a huge gallery showcase. But nothing from the show was actually missing. The real heist had been the old painting in museum storage that were worth millions. There was little evidence, and fewer reliable witnesses. But something just wasn't adding up.
Tina had had too many misadventures with Lousie over the years to not be suspicious of the shady arts dealer that had been on the scene during the night of the gallery. The woman was too suspicious and no one had seen her at the end of the night, leading Tina to believe she had staged a robbery to distract from her true hesit: the older paintings in museum storage.
What felt like hours later, well into the middle of the night, Tina finished her ramblings about her suspicions of the woman to a tired Zeke who was barely keeping his eyes open next to her at the table.
"Well it sounds like you've got yer story Tina. I knew you'd solve it."
Relief washed over her with his words. Finally, she had cracked the case and could rest, knowing that in a few hours she'd need to be up and in the news office to write up her story.
Tina gave him a content, sleepy smile and rested her head against his shoulder. Zeke chuckled, picking her up from her chair and taking her to their bed. He loved how passionate Tina was about her work and knew she'd write a great story about the heist. For now, his girl needed some rest.
