Instead of Boycott Stranger Things, I want a campaign to get this show to raise the rating to R and take it out of the teen show category on Netflix. Give this show back to the OG fans - The adults who actually like it and understand what is happening. Teenagers don't get to dictate what happens on any show, let alone a show that was never made for them. This fandom isn't theirs. They just harassed everyone out of it and it's not ok.

Generally Kaiba has to make the first move to invite Jonouchi into his life somehow (usually as a friend), as it is very difficult to convincingly shift his worldview without significant time and energy.

Because of this, there are various scenarios that are concocted to trigger this change in his life.

1) Mokuba hangs out with Jonouchi

Mokuba is developing an ongoing friendship with the main cast, with Jonouchi being a close friend. This causes Kaiba to constantly interact with Jonouchi at a consistent rate.

This is the best way to get a healthy relationship going between Kaiba and Jonouchi. Kaiba may try to push Mokuba away from the group but is likely to adhere to what Mokuba wants.

Jonouchi can start to learn more about Kaiba as a person and start to understand him. Kaiba will likewise learn about Jonouchi via Mokuba and eventually may open himself up to him.

Can get Jonouchi acting as an older brother too towards Mokuba.

For extra drama, could get Mokuba to have a one-sided crush on Jonouchi for a while.

2) Kaiba is prescribed friendship

Kaiba’s mental health is declining in some way (e.g. depression, manic episodes, etc) which is notably affecting his work. His psychiatrist/doctor/therapist recommends seeking out friendships and developing a trust system (Note: I am not a doctor - this advice is made up for the scenario).

Kaiba, who is taking this seriously and is now determined to improve himself, is now a bit more open to inviting Jonouchi (and the rest) into his life - especially now that he is making an effort it.

Can possibly even have Jonouchi be the perscriber, although that can make for an unhealthy doctor/client relationship.

3) Kaiba gets his coffee from the cafe Jonouchi works at

Kaiba gets his daily coffee from the Kaiba Corp coffee shop that Jonouchi works at. This opens up interactions with Jonouchi in a frequent manner.

This does, unfortunately, have the problematic ‘boss dating subordinate’ situation.

This also assumes Kaiba likes to get his own coffee. Maybe he uses it as an excuse to take a break from work?

4) Kaiba is an alcoholic

Kaiba is in a situation that leads him to alcoholism (not helped by Japan’s work drinking culture). A drunk Kaiba at functions can often lead to different scenarios, especially if Jou is a bartender or waiter.

Darker narratives can extend this to drug use.

5)  Kaiba starts recreating other duelists in VR using AI

This can be a space for him to safely explore his sexuality, or even to just open himself up to said AI (since he has complete control over it) 

This can sometimes lead to Kaiba simply settling for the AI and not the real person, although that in itself can make for some decent drama.

Can also explore narratives around the ethics of misusing AI based on real people.

6) Mokuba has left Domino City

Mokuba has decided to do his own thing in America (either extending Kaiba Corp or his own dream). This can intensify Kaiba’s loneliness, and thus he becomes more chatty or a bit more open to more interaction in his life.

The amount of distance between the brothers can vary. Could have Mokuba leave on a bad note and never communicate at all, or could have him chat to Kaiba every other day online.

For darker narratives this may result in the aforementioned alcoholism and/or declining mental health.

7) Kaiba is broke

Kaiba has become broke, his company has tanked, or the company has been taken from him in some way.  This can even out the wealth gap between Jou and Kaiba and have them on a similar playing field.

Jonouchi could offer him a home, and can teach him how to be thrifty (should Kaiba needs to learn)

Depending on Kaiba’s mental health, he can either be driven to climb his way back, or be in despair and lose all hope.

Bonus points if Jou is a key factor in helping him get back ahead.

8) Kaiba is having dreams about Jonouchi

This can be sexual, intense or just very personal. Reasons for this happening can vary, but sometimes there doesn’t need to be a reason

This can cause Kaiba to try to figure out why he is having these dreams, and what it may mean (if he has mellowed in his dub-version’s skepticism).

Thus leading to observations and potential interactions with Jonouchi. (Or alternatively attempts at avoidance, which Jou picks up on and bugs him about)

9) Kaiba’s new bodyguard is Jonouchi

This allows for a lot of interaction between them, however does mean Kaiba has power over him as an employer.

Potential to have Jonouchi rescue Kaiba or get injured trying to protect him - thus providing potential hurt/comfort scenarios.

Can increase drama by having high stakes scenarios with big injuries.

10) Jonouchi’s dance/singing/performance impresses Kaiba

Kaiba attends a concert and finds Jonouchi performing (dancing/singing/etc), and is impressed by the performance.  Lots of potential threads here.

Kaiba could become a secret hardcore fanboy

Kaiba could be seduced by the performance (either intentional by Jou or not)

Kaiba could sign him on to Kaiba Corp events, leading to more interactions

Can lead to private performances, and/or Kaiba listening to Jou’s music in his spare time.

11) Kaiba is in a coma / deep sleep / can’t wake up

Often attributed to faulty VR tech. Mokuba/Kaiba Corp creates some technology to allow Jonouchi to enter his mind and pull him out.

This has the benefit of Jonouchi being able to see the true Kaiba inside his mind - which can allow Jonouchi to understand and empathise with Kaiba much more.

This can lead to angst / dark narratives if unveiling some of Kaiba’s more twisted mind.

See hospital scenario for when tech can’t help.

12)  Kaiba is stuck in VR

Very similar to the coma one, but he can now access digital technology so can interact with the outside world should he need to.

Also Jou would not be delving into his mind directly but simply into the VR world to retrieve him.

Could utilise glitching for humor and/or drama.

13)  Kaiba decides to experiment with his sex life

May go out to a gay club undercover (where Jou goes/works), or go to a private sex work company (which could also be where Jou works).

In the case where Jou does sex work, could either have Jou and Kaiba meet there by surprise, Jou try pretend that he is someone else (in the event Kaiba does not realise he works there) or could have Kaiba specifically choose Jou (to Jou’s bewilderment).

14) Kaiba is competing with a rival company (that Jou works for)

Kaiba finds there is a rival company making their way into his territory and are making a name for themselves. Jonouchi, ideally, is involved with this company professionally.

This can elevate Jonouchi to a level that he can interact with Kaiba on at a professional level.

15) Kaiba discovers and befriends Jonouchi online

Can be done with VR avatars or random screen names, leading to drama at the reveal.

Bonus points if Kaiba has no idea it’s Jonouchi, and/or vise versa. Can lead to drama on the realisation on who each other are.

Alternatively, Kaiba may be a fan of Jonouchi streaming and become a bit of a fanboy (without Jonouchi knowing)

16) Kaiba sponsors Jonouchi as a professional duelist

This can lead to many potential interactions.

Main issue is the boss/employee relationship dynamic - Kaiba has significant power over Jonouchi.

Bonus points if Kaiba loses a duel to Jou at some point, causing drama.

17) Kaiba is recovering from a recent breakup

He may seek a rebound, or possibly Mokuba may seek Jou to help Kaiba recover.

Can enter into dark/abuse narratives with the ex.

Main difficulty here is getting Kaiba to trust anyone ever again after having his heart broken.

18) Kaiba is injured and is currently in hospital

This can either be for major injuries (e.g. gunshot wound, head injury) or minor ones.

This allows people to possibly visit him (like Jou). Depending on the injury he may or may not realise they are visiting (e.g. coma).

19) Kaiba wakes up, after having fallen for and started a relationship with Jou in a dream

For when you want a quick start to pining but don’t want all the setup

.A bit of a cop out, but it does the job.

Darker Narrative Scenarios

These are the more angst/dark/disturbing leaning scenarios. These are ok for large hits of drama and angst but often ends up changing Kaiba’s personality significantly depending on how his mental health goes.

1.) Mokuba has died

This would be a very traumatic event for Kaiba, so this will nearly always lead to a dark narrative often with mental health breakdown.

Can lead to suicide scenario.

Can lead to major personality shift

2) Kaiba has become suicidal

There can be a variety of reasons that lead to this.

Often the story has Jonouchi be present should Kaiba nearly attempt, opening the door for Jonouchi to help him.

This dark narrative may end up overburdening Jonouchi if not careful.

Mokuba often needs to be out of the picture somehow, or something to distance him from his brother.

Mokuba could be the person to bring in Jou and the gang to help.

3)  Kaiba is kidnapped / trafficked / trapped

Jonouchi helps to rescue him and so Kaiba feels indebted to him. This can open up interactions.

Generally it’s Mokuba who seeks out Jou to help.

Kaiba may attempt to avoid Jonouchi afterwards, depending on what state he was in when Jonouchi rescues him.

4)  Jonouchi has recently died, but has come back as a ghost and is haunting Kaiba

Usually a bittersweet scenario, unless a way to bring Jonouchi back to life is construed. Alternatively could eventually have Jou live in VR world a la Noah.

Kaiba may start to suffer from being haunted, depending on the nature of it.

Can have many ghost shenanigans such as: ghost commentary,  Jonouchi voyeuring Kaiba, awkward moments where Kaiba can’t respond because he is in company of others, and various attempts to communicate should Kaiba not hear him

Can reverse the scenario so that Kaiba is the one who has died, and Jou is being haunted. Often here, headcanoni is that Kaiba is either in denial of his death or is desperate to find a way back to life.

5.) Jou sacrifices himself for Kaiba or Mokuba

Bittersweet in that Jou is already dead. Could have an affect on Kaiba’s mental health.

Bonus points for combining with the ghost scenario

Fellow 6 ENP here. How did you finally decide between 6w7 and 6w5? It seems like, being a 6 and a Ne-dom makes it hard to figure yourself out. :(

That, it does.

I had toyed with the idea on and off before, but the online information (as usual) messed me up, because there was so much emphasis on 6w7s being the funnier, warmer, and more entertaining of the 6s that I had to identify with that because it is true -- but actually, that is just 6. Especially sp6, who uses warmth and humor to ingratiate itself with other people regardless of the wing. It was, again, focusing on external behaviors and not the fear motivations behind it. Reading Claudio N’s 5 description, I alternated between cussing because I felt ‘nailed’ by it and feeling enormous relief that I am normal after all.

It also helped to know some 7s and see how different our thought processes in addition to our behaviors were. They are far more impulsive than I am, even if they are just a 6w7. Their instant reaction to things is ‘leap into the world’ and mine is to ‘go home and analyze this.’ They over-spend with glee and no guilt; I 5ishly beat myself up for being gluttonous and buying things I don’t need, unless it is for my sp (the sp5, cutely, is the most “my house is my castle” 5; they will quite happily build themselves a comfortable home space, as a cave to hide out from the rest of the world, and make it comfortable to themselves. Which is soo me. My home is my refuge).

Once I realized a lot of the humor and whimsy attached to a w7 is also present in Ne, I could let 7 go and see that “how I screw up my friendships” is ALWAYS through a w5 tendency toward “detaching” the instant I realize this friend is not willing or able to be part of my 6ish support system. If I cannot count on them, there is this part of me that just “hangs up on them,” even if I am still there. I’m there, but not present. Around, but a ghost rather than flesh. Not fully 6ishly invested in them anymore. Furthermore, my own jealous guarding of my resources and unwillingness to share drives my friends nuts. It is not a literal unwillingness to share (you will always find me a thoughtful and generous host), but an emotional unwillingness to share.

Friends have complained I am too distant, too logical, and too cold. They have been angry and frustrated with me, when I could not just ‘drop everything’ and go on an expensive adventure with them. They have been frustrated when I have wanted to consult my day planner instead of just impulsively agreeing to see them in a couple of days (yes, but... I need to know what else is happening this week and if I think I’ll be ‘up’ for seeing them; because no matter how much I like someone, at the end of 3 hours with them, I am TIRED). They have been baffled when I have turned down trips to exciting places after listening to them talk about it (almost all of them, I realize in hindsight, involved massive crowds). I have the limitations of the w5 -- an easily drained inner tank that needs a lot of down time, that hates crowds despite being an extrovert, that likes to know where we are going and why, how long we will be there, what we will do there, and when I plan to leave, since 5s like to plan these things out in advance in order to store up the energy reserves they know they will need. w5 explains why social interaction is so draining / tiring for me, and why I am so exhausted at the end of a afternoon of writing -- my w5 is tiring itself out, getting my elaborate literary fantasies out of my head and onto the page. w5′s low energy level and need of solitude also explains why everyone thinks I’m an introvert who spends time with me in real life and why I have often thought I was one.

So, it’s always a process of being honest with yourself and reading everything -- ignoring the minor things that don’t fit or realizing they are wrong (a lot of the online ‘discussion’ about what 6w5 vs 6w7 is about, is misleading) and especially looking into Beatrice Chestnut’s variants, which she adapted from Claudio’s teachings, because she really does ‘nail’ people with them. Sp6 is extremely me, soc6 is also me; sp5 is a lot like me, and soc5 is also a lot like me (the soc influence on my wing is why I have done all this research about MBTI and Enneagram and am generously sharing it with all of you ;). You can Google and find them. Chestnut, plus the variant you want, plus your number. Sp and soc 7 on the other hand? Sound nothing like me.

Look for evidence. Make it ‘sensory.’ Use your Ne to look backward and fit all the puzzle pieces together about why you did that, when this relationship imploded, what was that? Just as an example, 5s detach to self-protect. I have spent years wondering WHY this or that happened, in a very Ti-ish manner, without ever being Ti, which I now realize was 5 attempting to THINK THINGS OUT, to solve them like a puzzle, to need and want every little piece to fit EXACTLY, rather than actually either feeling the hurt or anguish of what imploded. It’s like I have taught my brain to flip a switch off above “feel” straight into “why the hell did that just happen? what neurosis caused this, you need to figure it out!” to self-protect rather than 7ishly re-framing it (”oh that person was toxic anyway, this was a valuable lesson for me, I need to move on”).

To find their wing, head type intuitives must make their thought process ‘concrete’ by linking it to real events. You won’t realize what an ‘internal’ and ‘lost in your thinking process’ person you are until you actually do that. If your instant response to everything is think-think-think... you are a head type. But what you do next determines your wing. Do you shift into ‘image’ protection because you are a 5w4? Or into 5ish withdrawal to protect inner resources like a 6w5? Or into visceral gut-reactive ‘push-back’ like a 7w8? It takes time, but you need to read the numbers adjacent to your main type completely and not just rely on vague wing descriptions, because they are far more entwined in your every day ‘reactive’ process than you may realize.

Questioning and Reflections on Educating Gen Z and Gen Alpha: Changing systems, Structures and Interactions.

Who are the Gen Z?

Gen Z are those individuals who are born between 1995 and 2012.

Who are the Gen Alpha?

Gen Alpha are those individuals who are born between 2012 and 2025.

This article does not cater only to the privileged, to those who can afford schooling and to those without disabilities. I’m going to consciously try and cover how and why our system needs to change for the present generations in the schooling system and the next set of them.

A global pandemic was enough to provoke me into thinking what we really need to start changing in the way we deliver information and how we do it.

Our present system consists of educational boards for the so called normal functioning child. For those children with sensory impairments, specially-abled, gifted, and intellectually challenged, our educational and service providers have a set of activities, fundraising campaigns, trainings and vocational opportunities which only help in functioning to a certain extent so as to make one independent. Have we really invested resources to enable inclusivity into understanding what a person with a certain challenge could be going through in a global crises, has there been a deeper understanding and research as to what a person with emotional and physical challenge needs in order to fight a battle such as this. What does it mean to be self sufficient and independent then?

The “real” question everyone asks ‘what are we preparing our children for?’

And the “real” answer that is often given is “We are preparing them for life”. While we are in a middle of a crises our education system caters only to a handful of people who go into becoming experts in scientific research and solution finding. While we ace in being heavily populated we are definitely falling far behind in providing opportunities for the masses in order to help the masses in turn.

While we constantly emphasize on the fact that children are the future, then how come none of the children are finding any meaning in the system of our education? What future can they possibly even dream of when opportunities are only for some and not others?

The two generations after the millennial’s are the one’s that we need to focus on, in order to save lives and add meaning and not just prepare them for life.

The RTE Act, the rule of having a special needs child in a mainstream school is not what we should be proud of, we can only be proud when inclusion is achieved as an unsaid law and prepares children into inculcating basic qualities and values such as helping, empathic understanding which can then be utilized in a progressive manner where children are encouraged to think and reflect critically. By this I mean using some useful core values and applying the knowledge base towards a healthy and meaningful lifestyle.

Our present structure consists of teacher-student, facilitator-student, guide-student and so on. The role of the “knowledge” provider remains in a position of someone who is experienced and in a place to educate. When a structure based on hierarchy and power exists there is a passive killer that is constantly being built within the psyche of the child which is DOUBT.

As adults most of us have ideas and novel plans on bringing about change in our own ways, but why is it that only a small percentage of us can actually execute it? It’s mostly because we are dependent on an authority for approval and validation on whether it’s right or wrong. But then the reality lies in the fact that risks are involved either way, then why not follow our instincts? And this self doubt mostly occurs because the system in which we are taught and raised makes one doubt themselves FIRST even before standing up to speak and express. Although I do want to emphasize that there is a thin line between thinking twice and expressing, which should also be role modeled at a very young age.

Research in child psychology has shown and proved that children at the age of three onwards have the capacity to absorb any information that is exposed to them repeatedly or instructed. In my work with children of that age group I have observed firsthand, the levels intelligence and their capability to reason and resolve conflicts with their own age groups and even with adults given the freedom to express and listen. If we do have such a wonderful opportunity, then why not expose children to an environment that is real, authentic and free of self-doubt.

The brain of a gen z and a gen alpha child is much more hyper stimulated due to the changing lifestyles of adults and exposure to increased levels of screen time radiation. Where our educational structure and interaction is based on books and exams the ever evolving brain thirsts for something more meaningful. When there is no rationale and logic behind some of the most relevant questions that children constantly ponder over and ask, a bigger passive killer is built within the psyche of the child which is loss of interest. It can arguably be said that children are curious by nature, I do not disagree, but what does concern me and should concern all of us is that they begin to get curious about things that don’t hold any meaning and purpose.

Here I give you some of the questions that children between the age of 6-13 have asked me.

 ·    Why do we need exams?

·    What is the point of carrying so many books every day?

·    Why do we have such limited classed of PE?

·    Why don’t we have an option to exercise choice in how we want to learn and study?

·  Why should we study so much and some of us have to sit at home after marriage?

Honestly I wish I’d told them that it’s all a money making racket and a business idea to run schools, and that no one really cares about what they do or who they become after a given point. But again I’m one of the passive culprit who was also put into the system from the age of 3.

Although to most things I told them that I do not have a definite answer and that I’m still in the process of figuring it out.

In our ways of interaction with children of the gen z and the gen alpha, (I mean all children irrespective of any medical or psychological condition) our education system and training facilities have a long way to go in their ways of interaction which can only start by not repairing the roots but by growing new roots.

Soon after the pandemic hit every country, some of the schools in India were converted into hospitals and shelter for those who need to be quarantined, some institutions have gone out of their way to help students and provide classes online, then again the online classes in India only caters to a handful of them and here again, we do need to question if that’s what education means and if that’s what is important as opposed to providing mental health and physical health services for every child.

I posed this question to a few children in the present schooling system and here’s what they had to say.

 Question:

 How do you think your education system could have prepared you to battle a global pandemic?

Washing our hands , putting our elbows front while sneezing and all other safety precautions should not only be told when such pandemic arrives it should be mainly put in education curriculum because if we learn this from childhood then itself we can apply it strictly when such pandemic arrives.

It should be taught each and every citizen of the country should strictly follow the rules put up by the respected country (during lock down some people were unnecessarily out without any reason)

Education system should also be prepared for online classes before itself so that studies will not be disturbed.

Education system should bring awareness in the schools of rural areas to help them build up their immune system.

Our education system should have some practical experiments in the lab showing the importance of washing hands and being hygienic, and the explanation of it and the consequences and result could have made us aware of all the diseases. The education system should have seminars regarding self hygiene, and how these viruses spread and become a global pandemic affecting people. They should have at least had soaps in the washrooms so that children have some impact on cleanliness. Though there are some chapters in the children’s books but not much importance is being given to hygiene. Our system should teach children basics about viruses and bacteria. The higher grade students know much about it and they are aware of things and it has helped them to stay safe.

 I think the education system should have emphasized how viruses and illnesses spread and how important it is to stay home and take precautions against it. I feel like there are people in my school and community who do not understand the seriousness of the coronavirus pandemic and think it’s ok to keep going out unnecessarily.

We should have been taught about previous outbreaks in the past and how we as students can help slow/stop the spread of viruses.

As for what my school and education system has done as an effect of the coronavirus, I think they are doing the best they can. Our school district quickly implemented an online learning system for us so that we can still hopefully graduate on time. Although many school events got cancelled, the teachers, principal and counsellors at my school often offer support for students during this time. Many of my teachers and even the school principal are very understanding.

Our school district even gave away the districts laptops to students who don’t have their computers at home and offer WIFI hotspots. There are a lot of things that are unknown at this time such as whether or not my class will even have a graduation and whether or not we will ever go back to school again, but I certainly feel that my school has done the best they can despite the circumstances.

However, we should have been educated on what to do and how not to panic during a pandemic, which my school is also trying to do through online classes.

Summation for Emerging Multimedia Technologies

Sometimes I ask myself why I’m back in school. I’ve been working in this industry for over 25 years and that should be enough. The fact is that you never have enough experience or training to fully master digital designing and development because it is constantly growing with emerging technology.

When signing up to this class, I truly had no preconceived notions of the details. I entered the course with the same mindset I use for all classes at DeVry, no expectations, because I realize no two professors approach teaching in the same manner. Some may adhere closely to the syllabus while others may deviate due to the course materials becoming antiquated, which can happen very quickly when discussing technology advancements. I knew we would discuss and most likely utilize some of these advanced programs, or at least learn about the status of its research. I did expect to discuss AR and VR technology, mobile apps, and social media; however, some of our weekly discussions surprised me and had me think more critically about how much of my own privacy I give up as I introduce new technology into my daily tasks.

Weeks one and five introduced me to capabilities I didn’t know Google could provide; however, as we learned to use these tools and develop projects for class, I got ideas on how to utilize these tools after this course. With the Google maps, I envision recording our family trips to high end restaurants such as Jaleo, Morimoto Asia, and Art Smith’s Homecomin. We can create a walking tour and, with each spot we visit, my family and I can upload our foodie photography while giving a summary of the meals. This would be a useful tool that I could share with my fellow food allergy friends because they can then plot out their vacations and have that first hand knowledge from someone they trust.

Professionally, Google Drawing grants some wonderful abilities for me to collaborate with my colleagues in a visual manner. Both company employees and external contractors typically have a Google account and, thus, can access a shared “playground” area where we will share concepts for new layouts and designs. At this time, there is no Microsoft equivalent for this type of collaborative work and therefore Google would be a great resolution.

Weeks three and four, involving QR codes and 3D printing, are technology that I’m familiar with in theory but never actually sat down and tested in Adobe. I enjoyed learning how to develop QR codes using InDesign, and the next time I’m asked to develop materials for company summits or meetings, I think I will recommend using them to create a more interactive occasion by linking to videos or other online materials. The 3D printing capabilities of Photoshop is also very interesting but a little unnerving because of the security factors and terrorism. As someone who suffered a loss during 9/11, I do tend to view some advances in technology from the negative aspect, and the idea of people creating weapons with 3D technology scares me. On the more positive side of this technology, I’ve also read how 3D printing of bones help a person to regrow and gain the ability to walk or move their arms again. Thus, I feel this advancement is a double edged sword and we should all keep a close eye on how it is utilized.

My favorite week was when we developed our own version of an AR screen and explained how it would work. This is a fun advancement that would definitely interest me in the future because I like the idea of being able to access “how-to” videos and/or knowledge while I am doing something such as cooking a traditional Shepard’s pie or folding origami. To load a tutorial into a pair of glasses, put them on and then accomplish a task is an amazing method of training people. When we analyse the campaign, it is important to understand the meaning of cultural capital. According to Bourdieu, cited in Ihlen.et.al (2009), cultural capital is a kind of accumulated labour. In the video of the campaign, when the producer asked grownups to run 'like a girl' or to fight 'like a girl', people always showed signs of weakness and shyness. It looks like the society considers girls' with only powerless images. However, when the producer asked the little girls to run 'like a girl', they just run like themselves, trying their best. In my view, it confirms Bourdieu's viewpoint that cultural capital could affect the action and concept of people. Little girls have not contacted with the society too much, a fact that allowed them to keep their own opinion about things in some ways.

The campaign is very meaningful. It tried to change the concept of cultural capital of people they had previously known before. Once the video of the campaign is produced, it began to spread the message and encourage females to rethink about their location in the society. Females are encouraged to exhibit critical thinking and cast doubt the message they receive from their culture instead of simply accepting everything that they were told.

Meanwhile, it makes people realize that using the phrase 'like a girl' to describe someone who did something bad is an insult. The campaign changed the public's awareness and transformed the way how people think about the phrase. It is another way to change the culture that people achieved. According to Ihlen (2009, p72), Bourdieu's work showed that the values and relations of social space are passed on from this generation to the next. Cultural capital always has this function. On the one hand, gender gap shows the natural difference between the two sexes. On the other hand, the gender gap focuses more on the behavior that the two sexes express. The connotation that females are weaker affects the occupation and education of females. The factor results in the low hierarchy of females in society. Our culture has constantly told us that females are not suitable to take part in competitions. Occupation belongs to males and as long as woman marry the right man, their lives are satisfactory and guaranteed. Therefore when some jobs are believed that they are more suitable to men, women might give up their confidence and choice. The experience from the outside shaped the thoughts of people. If modesty and shyness are the necessary characteristics of females, women will suppress themselves in lots of social places according to the social expectations of females. Hence, self-awareness is not only important for the individual, but also vital for social place of women. Women, even some of the most well-education ones, were always limited by traditional labels in the past. The real opposite aspect of women is not male, but the traditional social expectation of the role of women deeply rooted in their minds. Females got used to see themselves based on the male-biased conceptual scheme. Hence, their personal right is also limited. It is limited to make their dreams and wishes come true. It does not mean after the campaign, every girl can regain confidence and do everything they want to do without any limits. The campaign just opens a gap, providing females opportunities to be themselves. They will not be shameful because they are females. On the contrary, they should be proud of that. In young girls' minds, girl should be strong, powerful and successful. They tried their best to do things that the producer of the video asked them to do. Just like a girl said in the video, we can run like a girl, fight like a girl, even wake up like a girl. That is not something that we should be ashamed of because we are girls. If we do things like a girl and still be the first, then no one would say 'like a girl' is a bad thing.

Adding on to Tragic-obsession’s post, I know that there have been times I have been talking to people and I think ‘eh, they are my age’, then they say they are like 16, and I am extremely surprised, because they don’t ‘act’ their age.

Again, as said on that thread, in my opinion, it is good for different age groups to interact, as long as it isn’t in a NSFW manner, as it teaches younger groups how they are usually expected to act as they get older, and allows the older age groups to feel younger.

But if we start labeling everyone (which I saw when everyone was going ‘no labels, we are all human beings!’, and now everyone is back to ‘label everything, put every person in individual boxes!’) with their age groups, it just makes it much more awkward to have normal interactions.  Older people tend to act ‘differently’ when they know someone is a certain age group, and the same goes for other age groups as well, when without knowing, you treat them as they present themselves. If they present as a younger group, then they are often treated like that, while if people knew that the person who likes ‘role playing’ is actually 30, then their perceptions would change from when they thought they were ‘just a young kid enjoying role playing’.

I have already looked at cooking shows specifically in stop motion, but it was recommended to me to watch live action ones to understand the key features, so that I can accurately recreate them. 

Jamie’s Perfect Roast Potatoes

Jamie (one of the most recognisable chefs alive) gives the impression of a very trustworthy recipe, sharing how he has been perfecting it for years and endorsing certain ingredients (in this case a Maris Piper potato), so much so that is has become a ‘classic’. The video shows the recipe preparation through a montage (mostly close up shots), and turns basic steps into a continuous, laid back sentence. He then starts to list options with the recipe so that viewers can experiment themselves and find their own taste; such as olive oil, butter, or goose fat (each a step up in the richness and crispiness of the recipe). Cooking videos almost always use phrase with ‘key’ or give bonus tips to step up the recipe and separate it from the basics/ what you already know. Learning new tricks is exciting and keeps viewers returning. Some can be unusual, so Jamie always says, ‘bear with me’, building trust in regular viewers. He is quite loose with his timings, saying everything is to personal preference so to wait for the desired colour and crunch (this invites the viewer into the conversation). As always, it ends with a taste test to show and hype up the result, and Jamie classically and lovingly calls the potatoes ‘babies’. This video shows how even a basic dish, or a side dish like roast potatoes, can create an interesting and interactive video on its own as there are so many tips and variants.

Again, it finishes with an embellishment and a taste test of ‘the only’ carbonara (creamy without cream!), before trying to share it with crew in true Italian fashion. When learning recipes, it is always best to learn from someone from its originating country for authenticity before experimentation.

If the original recipe is disgusting or too simple he would then try to make his own version, but this one (despite the size and heat) was a success. Babish’s videos are a wonderful mix of entertainment, education, and science, with an explanation behind the process and need for each step. The recognisbale camera shot shows his torso and a clear view of the food without his face, keeping the focus on the cooking. There is often a cross section at the end as a sort of ‘food porn’.

The creator and chef have a conversation throughout the film, which reveals secrets and gives them an opportunity to talk about their lives and the importance of food.

I watched this show when I was little and loved it because it had elements from a variety of different shows. There are charismatic presenters, bedtime stories, cooking, singing, and education. It also mixes live action, CG, and 2D animation. When aimed at kids, these sorts of show put more focus on the narrative: reading a story, learning who they’re cooking for, going on an adventure to find the missing ingredient, learning where food comes from, and solving a problem. The idea isn’t for there  to be technical recipes for the child to actually try making (and if they do want to, it is always recommended for an adult to help), but to introduce them to new foods (or get them to eat their vegetables) in a simple, entertaining format.

From this research I can gather that cooking show often mix tropes from various genres, and they follow a pretty consistent pattern: introduce self and recipe, show ingredients, shows steps, taste test. The main aims are to educate and entertain. Common features are: having prepared dishes to move quickly to the next step, special tips and tricks, giving the explanation behind the chemical reaction of adding a certain ingredients, alternatives for ingredients/ flavours, ‘food porn’, and claiming that your recipe is the best one. The format is repetitive yet relaxing so viewers will return and start to trust certain chefs more. It is also a short form format so cost effectively fills gaps in channel timetables.
