An ALNST Theory/Hypothesis/Over-analysis/Interpretation of events
AKA: Me slowly descending into madness over an animated web series-
(Btw this is mostly just for fun, don't take it too seriously lol)
(TW: Death, Blood)
Long post warning:
I assume we've all seen the newest posts that Vivinos has put out on their YT community tab (or wherever you get your ALNST updates), and the one that everyone is obviously talking about is the post titled <CURE>
Tumblr media
And.. yeah, of course, just goes to show that Round 6 is just around the corner (I am screaming internally) and the attention is going to be focused on Ivan and Till, and how their story will progress (or end, depending on if someone's gonna die, which seems likely, unfortunately).
But the post that really caught my attention.. was this fucking post:
Tumblr media
When I first saw it, in my mind I thought ''Haha, how cute and goofy! This is exactly how I saw their dynamic!'' and went on with my day.
But after thinking about it for a while, my brain decided to think up this wonderfully awful thought:
''What if Hyuna (unintentionally) had a hand in what happened to Hyun-woo?''
Now, at first, this sounds fucking crazy. The general consensus (from what I've seen) is that Luka killed Hyun-woo. But I do see some parallels between this post and the incident in Round 5 which might help explain what actually happened, but first:
Why I don't think Luka would have been able to kill Hyun-woo:
Luka is DEFINETELY not known for his muscles or strength, I mean look at him:
Tumblr media
He's like a sickly Victorian child, not to mention his asthma, chronic migraines and heart disease. I don't believe Hyun-woo has any health problems (not that I know of anyways), so I feel Luka would have a hard time trying to push Hyun-woo over so he'd fall onto a rock. To put it simply, Hyun-woo could most likely beat Luka in a fight, unless someone interfered in some way...👀
Luka's ''fighting'' tactic:
With the parallels between The Trio doodle and Round 5, I've noticed there's a pattern with how Luka gets rids of his ''opponents'', be it on stage or outside of it (*cough* Hyun-woo *cough cough*).
He initiates the attack, it being mentally or physically depending on his opponent. He's subtle about it however, the only one being aware of his antagonism being the one he's antagonising, preserving his perfect, can-do-no-wrong persona.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Obviously, the opponent retaliates. But, of course, Luka expects this, it's what he wants, after all. He knows he'll be seen as the victim by onlookers. How could anyone hurt such a precious, weak, defenseless little guy??🥺🥺He doesn't even bother to fight back at all (may be too weak to).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. A stronger force, seeing Luka in ''distress'', steps in and takes care of the attacker (the opponent), avenging Luka, who they see as the victim. He isn't the type to do it himself, letting others do his dirty work.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, let's apply this to the flashback in the All-In MV..
What may have happened to Hyun-woo:
Luka may have said something to Hyun-woo that deeply distressed/angered him, or perhaps Hyun-woo knew about what Luka did to Hyuna.
Tumblr media
2. Angry, Hyun-woo attacks Luka.
Tumblr media
(I'd also like to note that in this frame, Luka looks more like he's just had someone pulled off him, rather than he's just attacked and pushed someone over onto a rock.)
3. Hyuna finds Hyun-woo attacking Luka and, naturally seeing Luka as the victim, tries to break them apart (which would have been hard if Hyun-woo was super pissed). There's a struggle, and.. well...
Tumblr media
Hyuna accidentally kills Hyun-woo, which doesn't bother Luka. Just means his opponent has been eliminated. As far as he's concerned, Luka wins.
Final Thoughts:
Does this theory leave a lot of questions? 100%. For example, if this theory was true, why would Hyuna be so angry at Luka? Does she later find out about his manipulative nature? How? On the stage perhaps? I find this unlikely, however, since I don't believe Hyuna ever went on stage and escaped beforehand, due to a post Vivinos made a while back:
Tumblr media
Can this theory be easily debunked? Oh, ABSOLUTELY (I hope it is debunked in canon, to be honest lol). But it does give ideas for some angsty fanfics, I believe hehehe-
For real though, Alien Stage is all up to interpretation. Some questions may never be answered. It leaves room for different ideas, which is one thing I love about the series. <3
Thank you for reading my batshit little ramble/theory!! Hope ya'll have an awesome day/night!

So I was reading about the first Oscars ceremony, and it had a division between Outstanding Picture and Best Unique & Artistic Film, where Unique & Artistic was apparently meant to be an equal to Outstanding Picture but dedicated more for prestige artistic works. The next year, the two categories became one from then on, and Outstanding Picture was the only top prize. (If any of that is wrong, blame wikipedia.)
If the split had remained, and there was a more commercial-y movie top prize and a prestige art top prize, what are some notable movies that suddenly pick up wins?
okay wait........ this is a brilliant question and i am ashamed to say i’ve never really given it much thought until now.
idk if you’ve seen wings and sunrise but they’re both pretty great and they do represent wildly different kinds of filmmaking. while it’s safe to say Wings is the more commercial film, it has great craftsmanship behind it and it very clearly created the template for accessible, capital-i Important, and well-made best picture winners to come.
and, full transparency, sunrise is one of my, like, top 15 favorite movies, so i’m hella biased, but that movie is a gorgeous and strange and thrilling piece of work. the title “unique and artistic film” is impossibly vague, but watching sunrise makes it very, very clear that it fits that bill for that category. and while we’ll, of course, never know what might have happened if that category had continued, it’s tempting to think that all the winners in unique and artistic film would be of sunrise’s calibre, but knowing the oscars... that’s clearly a fantasy, lol. while sunrise is a wildly inventive and artistic film, it’s important to remember that it was fully on the academy’s radar -- janet gaynor won best actress in part for her performance in the film, and it also won best cinematography. so while it’s tempting to think the academy would always recognize a truly unique and artistic achievement every year, in all likelihood, they probably wouldn’t stray too far from the movies that were already on their radar.
so for this thought experiment!!
it’s probably safe to assume every best picture winner has to go in one of the two categories. there are only a handful of winners that stick out as maybe missing out on the big win in this new system, but only a handful.
so uh. this is way more than you asked but i got hooked. here’s what i think might have happened if the two best picture categories had stuck around. as i was working through the years, it became clear to me that, unfortunately, in a lot of years, the unique and artistic film would likely end up going to the more overtly “prestigious” films, such as the song of bernadette or the life of emile zola, while their far better and more commercially viable rivals (casablanca for bernadette, the awful truth for zola) would win outstanding picture. the actual best picture winners have an asterisk next to them. what’s also interesting to consider is the importance of the best director category: most of the time, a split in picture and director will tell you what’s clearly the runner-up. those years, usually, give you a good sense of how the two awards would shake out.
Outstanding Picture / Unique and Artistic Film
1929: The Broadway Melody*; The Divine Lady
1930: The Big House; All Quiet on the Western Front*
1931: Cimarron*; Morocco
1932: Grand Hotel*; Bad Girl
1933: Little Women; Cavalcade*
1934: It Happened One Night*; One Night of Love
1935: The Informer; A Midsummer Night’s Dream (** this is one of the few years i think the actual BP winner, Mutiny on the Bounty, would miss out; The Informer was clearly the runner-up for BP with wins in director, actor, and screenplay, while Midsummer was seen as THE artistic triumph of the year, and with its historic write-in cinematography win, there was clearly a lot of passion for it)
1936: Mr. Deeds Goes to Town; The Great Ziegfeld*
1937: The Awful Truth; The Life of Emile Zola*
1938: You Can’t Take It With You*; Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs or Grand Illusion (** this one’s tough... Grand Illusion made history as the first non-english movie nominated for BP, and it clearly had a lot of support, but Snow White was such a monumental moment in Hollywood, and the academy clearly acknowledged that with its honorary award)
1939: Gone with the Wind*; The Wizard of Oz (** this is one of the first years with a clear runaway favorite for best picture, which makes guessing the way the other award would go very difficult! i’m leaning towards Oz purely because of its technical achievements, but i’m not confident about that choice at all.)
1940: Rebecca*; The Grapes of Wrath
1941: How Green Was My Valley*; Citizen Kane
1942: Yankee Doodle Dandy; Mrs. Miniver*
1943: Casablanca*; The Song of Bernadette
1944: Going My Way*; Wilson
1945: The Bells of St. Mary’s; The Lost Weekend*
1946: The Best Years of Our Lives*; Henry V
1947: Gentleman’s Agreement*; A Double Life
1948: The Treasure of the Sierra Madre; Hamlet*
1949: All the King’s Men*; The Heiress
1950: All About Eve*; Sunset Boulevard
1951: A Place in the Sun; An American in Paris*
1952: The Greatest Show on Earth*; The Quiet Man
1953: Roman Holiday; From Here to Eternity*
1954: The Country Girl; On the Waterfront*
1955: Marty*; Picnic
1956: Around the World in 80 Days*; Giant
1957: Peyton Place; The Bridge on the River Kwai
1958: The Defiant Ones; Gigi*
1959: The Diary of Anne Frank; Ben-Hur*
1960: Elmer Gantry; The Apartment*
1961: West Side Story*; Judgment at Nuremberg
1962: To Kill a Mockingbird; Lawrence of Arabia*
1963: Tom Jones*; 8½
1964: Mary Poppins; My Fair Lady*
1965: The Sound of Music*; Doctor Zhivago
1966: A Man for All Seasons*; Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
1967: In the Heat of the Night*; The Graduate
1968: Oliver!*; 2001: A Space Odyssey
1969: Midnight Cowboy; Z
1970: Airport; Patton*
1971: The French Connection*; The Last Picture Show
1972: The Godfather; Cabaret
1973: The Sting*; The Exorcist
1974: Chinatown; The Godfather, Part II
1975: Jaws; One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest*
1976: Rocky*; Network
1977: Star Wars; Annie Hall*
1978: Coming Home; The Deer Hunter*
1979: Kramer vs. Kramer*; All That Jazz
1980: Ordinary People*; Raging Bull
1981: Chariots of Fire*; Reds
1982: E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial; Gandhi*
1983: Terms of Endearment*; Fanny and Alexander
1984: Amadeus*; The Killing Fields
1985: Out of Africa*; Ran
1986: Platoon*; Blue Velvet
1987: Moonstruck; The Last Emperor*
1988: Rain Man*; Who Framed Roger Rabbit
1989: Driving Miss Daisy*; Born on the Fourth of July
1990: Ghost; Dances with Wolves*
1991: The Silence of the Lambs*; JFK
1992: Unforgiven*; Howards End
1993: Schindler’s List*; The Piano
1994: Forrest Gump*; Three Colors: Red
1995: Braveheart*; Toy Story
1996: Jerry Maguire; The English Patient*
1997: Titanic*; L.A. Confidential
1998: Shakespeare in Love*; Saving Private Ryan
1999: The Cider House Rules; American Beauty*
2000: Traffic; Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (** this is another year where i think the actual BP winner, Gladiator, might have missed out. it was a tight three-way race going into oscar night, and if there were two BP awards, i think this consensus might have settled, leaving Gladiator to go home with just actor and some tech awards.)
2001: A Beautiful Mind*; Mulholland Drive
2002: Chicago*; The Pianist
2003: Mystic River; The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King*
2004: Million Dollar Baby*; The Aviator
2005: Crash*; Brokeback Mountain
2006: The Departed*; Babel
2007: No Country for Old Men*; The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
2008: The Dark Knight; Slumdog Millionaire*
2009: The Hurt Locker*; Avatar
2010: The King’s Speech*; The Social Network
2011: The Artist*; The Tree of Life
2012: Argo*; Life of Pi
2013: 12 Years a Slave*; Gravity
2014: Birdman*; Boyhood
2015: Spotlight*; The Revenant
2016: La La Land; Moonlight*
2017: Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri; The Shape of Water*
2018: Black Panther; Roma (** again, i think Green Book gets bumped out in this scenario, i think Black Panther is precisely the kind of movie that benefits from an award that’s seemingly more ~populist~ while Roma easily snags the unique & artistic prize)
2019: 1917; Parasite*
2020: The Father; Nomadland*
but of course i have no idea at all, and most of these are just my gut reactions lol. what a fun question!

Post-trip round-up, integration, thoughts (cut for length & some Heavy Shit)
WOW I needed that and I am so glad I realized I needed that. It has been well over ten years since I last took LSD, and my reluctance to indulge in psychedelics again was rooted in a long and complicated history that I don't really need to hash out here, but doing a mild dose of mushrooms last weekend gave me the confidence and conviction that I was ready.
Would it have been wiser to take a less bonkers dose for the first time in a decade plus? Probably! Do I regret a single moment of it? Not a whit! It's tough to overstate just how powerful, therapeutic, and restorative a good acid trip is, even an occasionally intense, uncomfortable one. I do not recommend eating multiple tabs of extremely good blotter on your first rodeo, but Adam's even more of a veteran psychonaut than I am, so I was 1000% well cared for, totally safe, and in a comfortable, familiar environment. In that setting, and in a positive frame of mind, acid is not going to throw anything at you that you are not equipped to handle. I would love to make this an annual or biannual thing.
The cool, funny, wacky delightful stuff:
Put it under my tongue at 10 AM-ish. Went to go listen to some music and doodle until it kicked in. I forgot that the come-up is like, do not make any fucking plans involving hand-eye coordination LMAO. I was trying to doodle Bowery Ballroom in an old sketchbook, and that devolved quickly. The markers were old so some of the caps were really stuck on there, and I wound up devolving into fits of laughter from the absurdity of pulling the caps off with my teeth.
Ink stains on my hands started writhing and trailing and were very cool. That was the first thing I noticed. I got very sad that I stopped drawing and making art, which was something I did all my life and almost went to school for but stopped doing as an adult. And then I realized I could start drawing again any time if I wanted to, and I didn't have to be GOOD at it or a proper artist for it to be worthwhile and fun. Felt immediately happy again.
Adam decided to watch Lethal Weapon???? I was like, Don't Like That. Even though he had headphones on and I couldn't hear anything. I am ambivalent about screens at best when I'm tripping, and at worst I don't even want to be in the same room with them. Guns and violence seemed comically, brutally stupid. Turned my back to the TV and continued drawing and writing until I could no longer hold a pen. Eventually Adam got on my wavelength and was like yeah, this is too much! (He took like, twice the dose that I did. I have no idea how he was even able to talk to me, but he managed!)
Felt the need to message Liana while peaking, picked up my phone, and saw that she had already sent me this:
Tumblr media
I thought that was HILARIOUS (tbh it actually was, and it was not just the acid talking)
For the first few hours of teeth-grinding, reality-shearing intensity, Adam and I mostly lounged in bed with the shades pulled all the way up and the window open, cuddling and petting Ernie. Fantastic bonding experience for the whole fam.
Looking at every surface in the apartment became like looking at a stained glass ceiling, or an infinite mandala, or the muddied rainbows in oil-slicked puddles. It looked like Ernie's fur was breathing and someone had colored all over the white parts of him with a highlighter. Adam agreed with this assessment. Formica on the kitchen counters was bananas. So were the trees outside, rippling like celluloid and brighter green than I had ever seen them.
The two of us spent a good 15 minutes doubled over with laughter because Adam suggested a contraption for funneling Fancy Feast directly into Ernie's mouth, kind of like shotgunning a beer
Adam: "I can't believe I used to to this and get on the subway and try to do things with people." Me: "What? How did you even figure out how to get from Point A to Point B?" Adam: "I mean, we didn't, really. We usually got lost. It was fine, though." Truly, it's about the friends you make along the way!
The second half of the trip, when things are starting to mellow out a bit, is when you become a real rock star. I went outside for a walk around the neighborhood, and to sit in the park with my headphones on while watching kids play on the playground, and it was ECSTATIC. I was just overjoyed. My face still hurts from smiling.
Forgot that I needed money to realize my goal of obtaining a popsicle, so I had to detour back into the apartment and explain all of this to my husband before resuming the popsicle quest. He thought it was very funny, but sympathized.
Fresh air, popsicles and San Pellegrino on acid. On another level! 100/10.
Bathrooms still universally suck, LOL. -10/10. Not a fan of that bathroom while tripping face! Every time I had to pee it was like WELL here we go again into the Pink Squirming Hell Chamber (I am making this sound like more of a big deal than it actually was)
15 HOURS. 15 HOURS Jesus Christ lmao I did not stop seeing weird shit on screens and surfaces until like 1 AM. And even then, if I stared long enough, funky colors and patterns would re-emerge. It's a commitment. I feel happy and refreshed, but also totally exhausted. Definitely have to budget a full weekend of No Plans for any future trips.
The Heavy Shit:
There is some Cronenberg-level body horror right before the visuals get super rainbow-stained and stereotypically psychedelic, which sounds bad, but I promise it isn't. It's watching the veins pulse under your skin and change into very saturated colors, pores and hair and scars become very defined and wiggly, and as someone who has so much bodily anxiety related to my alopecia/IBS, it was weirdly... freeing? You get to experience all this stuff in an entirely new frame of mind, shedding judgment and old thought ruts. I remember thinking, "I do not need to feel shame about my body," and letting go of so much baggage.
At some point mid-afternoon I decided to retrieve my phone from the drawer again, and saw that I had a missed call and a voicemail from my dad. I decided to play it back, and he was just phoning to tell me that he was listening to a live version of "Sally Simpson" and Keith was doing this thing where he wasn't even touching the cymbals, and had I listened to that specific performance before and noticed the same thing, and wasn't he truly the greatest drummer that ever lived? "Anyway, no need to call me back, just wanted to let you know. I love my bubbie!" (His term of endearment for me.) And I went to go sit in bed and weep for a straight 15 minutes, the most cleansing, purging cry you could possibly imagine, while Adam hugged me and rubbed my back. I was overwhelmed, overcome by this feeling of cosmic Love and Connection with my family and my husband and all of my friends.
I had been sitting on and burying so much fear and distress from the past 18 months, the chronic, low-grade trauma that was worrying if COVID was going to kill my father, my best friend and closest confidante and the one person on earth who I feel truly Gets Me on a spiritual level, and all of that came out. Fully processed and released every ounce of grief. What replaced it was the absolute, unshakable faith that no matter what happens — including my greatest fear, which is inevitable, no matter how far off it may be — he will always be with me, and a part of me, in the music we both love, and I will never, ever lose that.

also, soz this took so long. i’m done with exams so the stress isn’t making me write fast anymore. ):
...
To have it all just out of arm’s reach.
On Monday, Joohyun wears a pastel pink cashmere pullover over a grey jersey tank top and a pair of work slacks. Tuesday, she leaves in an elegant Vetements body-con dress with red-bottom heels. Day-off Wednesdays are for late morning coffees and messy hair buns on the way to the park after last night’s dinner with friends, and she sports a matching Adidas tracksuit; different colour every time. Although it’s undeniable she looks best when she dons her baggy black Balenciaga Political Campaign hoodie, sweater paws and all, with charcoal sweatpants, pin-rolled at the cuffs. Weekends are superior by far.
The pain is beautiful.
Every Sunday night, she steps out in washed-out flip flops, crinkled pyjama bottoms and a fuzzy hood draped over her head. The crease in her brows, the crinkles in the corners of her eyes and the upturn of her mouth gives away crystal clearly how she feels about taking the rubbish out to the bins. Her friends take up most of her free time, be it picnics under the shade of the mammoth oak tree just outside her apartment, sneaky ice lollys after a hard gym session, or a shoulder to cry on and a heart-warming smile. It is obvious Joohyun goes out of her way to make time for the people she cares about. Selflessness, grace and compassion frame her better than any painting in the Louvre.
The lament; absolutely gorgeous.
Her little quirks are too adorable to ignore; the way she’s her cosiest when she’s curled up with her nose in a book, knees pulled up to her chest and folded neatly into herself. It’s so cute the way she hides her flustered smile behind her palm, when she hastily wipes tears away after a devastating tv episode, her rose quartz blush when she spots a random couple kissing by the corner of the street. She’s her happiest after a warm shower, when she gets to put on her favourite Champion hoodie fresh out the dryer. She spends the rest of the day intermittently burying her snout into the tunnel of her sleeve and taking the deepest breaths she’s seen a person take, ever. Joohyun has a downright thing for good smells.
Speaking of good smells…
She breezes by the park bench sometimes, and the scent of minty vanilla crawls beneath her skin. Her laugh has every bone in her body aching with cherry blossoms and sweet cyanide; bright, airy, full of mirth. Her voice; soft-spoken. To press chaste kisses to strawberry macchiato pouts, to spend each day gazing upon ethereal features, to watch eyelashes flutter when she kisses her once again for good measure; she wants to adore absolutely everything about her. Seeing Joohyun upset and not being able to catch every crystalline drop out of those twinkling eyes twists the clamp around her heart several notches tighter. Doing everything at once or nothing at all, she’s endearing, and she finds herself willing to gamble everything she owns for a chance to get to know the woman behind the smile. The woman who’s had stars sewn into her soul by the galaxy itself. Even in the dead of night, Joohyun bathes her in her dazzling golden rays. Dilated pupils observe her world through rose-tinted lenses.
Seungwan glances down at the recycled notebook in her hands, gently flipping through the mindless doodles; some rushed, some immaculately detailed, depending on how long she was out for that day. Each sketch is labelled with bendy arrows and bullet notes, like a sloppy year 7 science poster; her outfits, colours, the weather, and several weeks’ worth of scribbled down medium espresso orders from the local coffee shop. Eyes roll fondly at that one time Joohyun mistook the salt for the sugar, sheer disgust and embarrassment stencilled onto her pretty features as she proceeded to order another one. So cute.
“Just waiting for my girlfriend,” she blurts absently, not actually having heard what the man passing by had asked her but churning out one of her automated replies out of habit. It was usually what they wanted to know, so it was usually the right answer. Some of the faces, the older ones, she recognises. They’re regulars at the park she sits at, probably getting their steps in.
Only half of her dreadfully practiced response is true, but Seungwan can’t bring herself to see why that’s a problem.
Because it isn’t.
Yes, watching Joohyun hurts her in ways unimaginable, but every day Seungwan sits across her residence, she is one day closer to figuring out how she’ll slip herself into Joohyun’s life. She’s already equipped with a handful of possible scenarios, all that’s left to do is pick one and strike when the iron is hot. So, till that day comes, she is more than content to just be here, park bench or not, rain or shine, and watch her do it all over again.
As pastel hydrangea clouds eclipse the sun, she concludes another chapter in her self-written bible of everything there is to know about the woman who’s yet to know her.
She inhales, slow and deep, imagining the vanilla mint fragrance stroking her lungs.
Joohyun is a waiting game, and Seungwan will wait as long as she needs to.

What was the last thing you threw at someone? A piece of meat for my dog to run for. Well, walk and sniff around for. He’s an old guy and doesn’t run anymore unless we’re taking him out for a walk. Do you follow recipes? I always certainly have to, since I don’t have any one dish memorized. I’ll start off with a collection of recipes for sure, but I’m hopeful that I’ll be at least a decent cook over the next few years. Where's the last place you had an itch? The area behind my knee.
Do you look people in the eye when you talk to them? It’s always important to have eye contact to show you’re paying attention so yeah. But I know it can get uncomfortable for most people at some point – and me – so I’ll give my eyes a break and look at their forehead, their nose, the space between their eyes, etc. When you look into someone's eyes, can you see their pain? Uh no, I don’t look that intensely lmao. And even then, I’ve learned over the years that most people are very good in hiding or playing off their true emotions that even if I try to find something off, I’ll likely turn up with nothing.
When was the last time you sneezed? Midnight today. How do you act under pressure? It will depend on how much there is to do and how much time there is left. I don’t have one permanent behavior for every time I feel pressured, which is pretty often. Who did you last say "I love you" to? My dog. Do you ever call people just to hear the sound of their voice? Yes, back when everything was normal I’d sometimes call my girlfriend just to drop by and say hi, and also because our schools are a little far apart and I’ll miss her in the middle of the day. School usually stresses her out so I do that as a pick-me-up for her. When was the last time you used a glue stick? January maybe? Our profs always ask us to submit index cards with our contact details and a 1x1 photo at the start of the semester, so there’s a good chance I asked to borrow glue from someone to paste my photo onto the card. What was the last startling noise you heard? Some dipshit on my Twitter feed decided it was good fun to share a jumpscare disguised as an innocent, cute video at 3 AM. I was mad about it then and I’m still mad as hell about it now lol. Do you ever look back at your yearbooks? I did this a lot as a kid. Idk why, I found it interesting to get to know the people in my school and read their write-ups I guess. I stopped looking back on them precisely because I did it too much when I was younger. Do you ever want to be prom queen/king? No. I did not give a shit about prom at all. I really would’ve happily skipped out on it but my school is a complete killjoy and made both attendance and bringing a date mandatory for everyone. No stags, can you believe it? It’s like when Captain Holt from Brooklyn Nine Nine said “Have a good time, I specifically requested it” lol Are you tired? Tired of this quarantine, yes. But I took a nap not too long ago so I’m not feeling to sleepy in that sense. Have you ever ran from the police? I haven’t done anything for them to have to do run after me, so no. Are you afraid of clowns? Not really. I was never exposed to them much so I always just saw them as people in heavy makeup that do balloon animals and other funny tricks. Have you ever written on someone's face in your yearbook? HAHA yes. When my sister and I were kids we bickered a lot, and in one of our fights I thought it’d be funny to doodle on her kinder portrait. She didn’t think so and she started wailing - just in time, I heard my mom coming home and I had to think fast so my sister a) stopped crying and b) wouldn’t tell on me. So I did the stupidest thing and also doodled on my own prep portrait to make her feel better. She calmed down and my mom never found out. When was the last time you made dinner? I *helped* my dad make dinner a few months ago. I haven’t completed a meal myself. Do you have any special plans coming up? They’re gonna be mellowing down the lockdown rules in my province by the 15th and I’m really hoping to see Gabie soon. Realistically I doubt it would happen as I don’t think both our parents would agree to it, but it’s still nice to keep hoping. Did you just lose the game? Yep, but I really only found out about this game from Reddit a few months ago and I didn’t grow up having to play it, so I’m never all too pissed off or like emotionally invested in general whenever I lose it haha. What is a class at school you are interested in taking? There are global studies electives that I was unaware of until someone told me to take them after I enrolled for my last sem in collefge. There are courses on Turkish culture, global gastronomy, and they also had past courses on ‘Diversity on Perspectives on Peace and Conflict,’ ‘Cultures of Disasters,’ and ‘Cultures and their Global Entanglements.’ They all sound right up my alley and am disappointed no one told me sooner. Do you hold on to your dreams? Some of them, the ones I know I have a chance of attaining. Obviously I’ve had to let some go, like wanting to go to the moon or becoming a firefighter. Do you follow rules or break them? Follow. I don’t like getting into trouble. Is there someone you are dying to see? A lot of people. Who do you want to be buried next to? I’ve given this zero thoughts. Are you double-jointed? Nope. Did your dream last night involve blood? It didn’t. I’m not even sure what my dreams were anymore. Who was the last person to yell at you? My mom, probably. How do you feel about the new president? I wouldn’t call him new, he’s in the latter half of his term now. I hate him and I hope he dies soon. Do good things come to those who wait? Sure, it can happen. What is the last song you played on iTunes? I haven’t used that in a while. The last one I listened to on Spotify was Sudden Desire by Hayley Williams. Petals For Armor is still on loop, surprise. What is the last thing you looked up on youtube? I was showing my sister the hilarious Vine of Beyoncé where she thanks a talk show host who tells her “You are Beyoncé,” as if it was a compliment looooool, so I looked up “you are beyonce thank you.” When is the last time you went to the grocery store? March 9th. What is your favorite fish? Tuna or eel for raw fish, tilapia for cooked. What kind of calendar do you have? A digital one. Have you ever been two hours late for school? Oh hell no. I’ve been late before, but if it’s as dramatic as being an hour late I usually just cut class to save myself the embarassment of having to do the walk of shame entering the class. What is your favorite stuffed animal that you own? I don’t have any stuffed animals. Who did you hang out with yesterday? My family, as has been the case since March. Has anyone stolen your heart yet? Yes. Have you ever won a gold medal? No. I’ve won first place before, but they didn’t issue out gold medals. Do you have any trophies? Also no. Do you work out? I don’t. When you introduce yourself, do you give hand shakes? Sometimes, but tbh I just picked it up from Gabie who’s a big hand-shaker. I preferably wouldn’t cause it seems so formal to me. Is there a limit to how many best friends you have? Yeah, like I wouldn’t want to have a lot; I like keeping my immediate circle small. I’m more than content with my two best friends. When's the last time you went to a dance? 2016. What grade are you in? Soooooooooo unbelievably close to graduating college. Are you in a band? I’m not and haven’t been. Have you ever been in a talent show? No thanks. Have you ever won a contest? Competitions, yes. Contests, no. How do you feel about germs? I’m quite particular about them. I don’t like sharing clothes with people; I pick which friends get to eat off of my spoon or sip from my straw; I’m super iffy about touching someone else’s keyboard; I really don’t like having to touch other people’s hair and with that is also the fact that I never borrow or lend hair ties. Holy shit so I’m more germaphobic than I thought and all I had to do was list these things down......................... Do you like screamo music? Not really. What does your wallet look like? Pink and a lot thinner now that I haven’t been given an allowance since they stopped school. Do you have any hickeys on you? No. At this point, I really wish I did lmao Would you rather have money or love? Money. I love love, but I won’t deny that I also love being able to afford the lifestyle I want to live haha. Do you have any family pictures hanging on the wall? Not on the wall, but we have several frames lined up on the first few steps of our stairs. Which do you prefer: bath or shower? Bath after a long hard day. Shower most days. Do you have a lamp in your room? I used to, but I removed it after realizing the light just keeps me from falling asleep faster.
Do you have windows vista? No. Do you have the strength to say goodbye forever? I’ll deal with it if I had no choice, but I’ve never handled goodbyes well.

Tom and Kristiane - 1,7, 19, 21, 22, 27 and 35 DETAILED HEADCANON TUMBLR MEME. (Gaahh sorry if it's too much, but you know how much I love this couple, so I just want to know more about them! Lots of kisses to you, sweetie!) -Maizie
I’m so about this, Maizie! Thank you. I’m hoping that this will encourage my inner writer to come out and play again. She’s been missing for too long.
*wiggles fingers* Here we go! Tom and Kristiane
1. What does their bedroom look like?
This is difficult to answer because they do have different bedrooms (even in my head). They still live apart. So I’ll do my best to describe.
Kristiane’s bedroom is very small. She lives in Hell’s Kitchen in Manhattan, so her entire apartment is tiny. Her room is probably no more than 9 by 9 and a perfect box. It doesn’t suit her at all, so she did as much decorating as she could to make it look unique and not so square. She’s strewn white fairy lights haphazardly along the ceiling perimeter. Her double bed that takes up most of the real estate in the room sits directly under the single window.
She uses plush sheets and plush pillows and plush comforters, so that her bed looks like a great big marshmallow that she can fall into and disappear. But it wouldn’t be white... more soft feminine colors.
She’d also have musical poster cards on her wall, that aren’t meticulously framed or measured. She sticks them up when she’s inspired to do so, and they’re from shows that she hasn’t done, only ones that she goes to see. Les Miserables is one of her favorites that she’s never done, and Wicked and Phantom of the Opera.
She also has mementos from some of the shows that she’s done. She’s got a leatherbound stationary folder from Daddy Long Legs, a pair of pantaloons from her run as Belle in Beauty and the Beast, her bonnet from playing Martha Jefferson in 1776 and her satchel handbag from playing Squeaky Frommer in Assassins... among other knickknacks.
Her closet is also tiny, and tends to overflow, busting at the seams. She’s also not necessarily the tidiest of people. She doesn’t like things too organized, she likes the look of it lived in and cozy.
Tom on the other hand is almost the complete opposite. He likes things neat and tidy and there’s a place for everything. His bedroom is large, and more the shape of a rectangle. Hes got a king sized bed dressed in masculine tones. His entire flat was designed by a friend from university.
Tom bought his place with his Thor paycheck, and for the most part away for most of the move-in. He needed someone to do it for him, so he hired Ava to manage everything. She did if for cost as a favor and to boost her portfolio.
It’s more sparse, to calm Tom... so he doesn’t have to think about it or worry about it. It’s more of a place to go to unwind than a place to spend any kind of time. Very few pillows, crisp, clean linens, immaculately made. Long blue curtains to accentuate the tall ceilings. Symmetry rules. The bed is balanced with matching nightstands and matching lamps on either side of the bed. About the only thing in the bedroom that’s personal to Tom are the two full bookcases.
His walk-in closet is organized for his ease. Suits and jackets and all are color coordinated. His entire layout looks more like a hotel than a home, but he likes it that way so he doesn’t have to do much but maintain it.
7. Favorite way to waste time and feelings surrounding wasting time
Neither wastes time actually. They’re both dedicated to their careers, so they don’t get a lot of time to waste. Obviously they know how to have fun and fill in the hours when they’re not in rehearsal or on stage or filming. Kristiane takes part in the sports teams for Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids. She does bowling during the winter, and softball in the spring. She keeps active with her dance classes and voice lessons. Even if she’s doing a show, she’s auditioning or lending her voice and talents to readings of upcoming musicals. There’s always something to do in New York City, and would rather not waste time.
Tom is the same. He doesn’t waste time. He’s always reading, because there are too many books, and not enough time to read them all. He’s always looking for the next project (movie/television) to show interest in. He does fancy a go down at the pub with his mates. Drinking and games at the pub is a way to blow off steam.
Both of them know how to fill their time, rather than waste it.
19. What do they think about before falling asleep at night?
As cheesy as it may read, each other. Although they sometimes don’t get on, they are both so deeply in love with the other that it calms them. Even when they’re apart, knowing the other is out there living and breathing... that’s enough.
21. Turn-ons? Turn-offs?
This is another easy one. Talent and intelligence turns them both on. Artistry and accomplishment turns them on. Ambition and charisma. They both get excited by application and the ingenuity of progression in life and art.
Turn offs would be wasted potential, laziness, and negative energy. They don’t like pessimism or evil intentions.
Turn ons: the smell of baked goods, dessert/pudding, a beautiful melody, philanthropy, breakfast in bed, a day off together.
Turn offs: betrayal, disloyalty, spoils of wealth, garbage/sewage, the smell of petrol
22.  Given a blank piece of paper, a pencil, and nothing to do, what would happen?
Kristiane would scribble lyrics to her favorite songs, like Don Quixote from Man of La Mancha or It’s Your Fault from Into the Woods. Or she’d dream cast herself into roles that she’d never have the opportunity to play. Matilda in Matilda because she’s too old. Eliza in Hamilton because she’s too ingenue. Elphaba in Wicked because she’s more of a Glinda.
Tom would doodle, like Loki or Thomas Sharpe. Maybe a creature that he would imagine being part of the Star Wars universe or a new generation of dinosaur in Jurassic Park.
27. What is their biggest regret?
For Tom, it’s leaving Kristiane, and breaking up with her in the way he did. In hindsight, he would’ve be selfish and kept up the long distance relationship in order to keep her in his life.
For Kristiane that’s a little more complicated because I haven’t posted that part of the story yet. But she unintentionally insulted Tom when she took a vacation to see him. That will make far more sense when I actually post it. She didn’t mean to do it, and she also didn’t realize she’d done it until much later.
35. What activities do they enjoy, but consider to be a waste of time?
Tom enjoys table tennis, reading, and creating characters. Kristiane enjoys parties with friends, harmonizing and creating characters. Again they fill their time rather than waste their time.
Woooooo!!!! That was a lot of information! I think I ran out of steam there. LOL  I hope this informs the characters a bit more than I wrote into the stories. Thanks for the questions!

rosenmarille’s embroidery tutorial
Tumblr media
hey anon you made my entire week and i love you
Let me preface this by saying that I’m in no way an expert and I’ve literally only been doing this for less than a month, so most of what I do is making it up as I go along. hopefully you find my tips helpful though!! <3
I wasnt sure which part you wanted to know about so i made a rundown of everything from start to end
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1) List of things you’ll need:
Embroidery frame (I just went to the nearest crafts store and got them in two sizes. Theyre quite cheap and sometimes also come in plastic or different shapes)
Fabric (the less stretchy the better, though if youre planning to decorate clothing I think it really depends on how determined you are. what ive got here is some leftover polyester fabric from cosplay and other sewing projects. you can even sew different pieces together if one isnt big enough for the frame but in that case you need to iron the sewed piece flat or else it will be very difficult to keep straight and neat)
Embroidery yarn (see pic) (theres two types, and ive only used pearl yarn (top) so far but the other one allows for more precision since you can pick how many strands of yarn you need)
Needle (see pic) (properly pointy, not like the crappy one above. I mainly use that for crochet things because it actually bends and that’s NOT what you want here)
Scissors and a pencil
Tumblr media
2) Sketch: Pick an image of what you want to do. I’ve found that at first, practicing with basic shapes and colours is a lot easier to get used to the whole thing, it helps give you a feel of how the yarn ends up looking stitched to the fabric. So far I almost only did screenshots, and I didn’t have to draw something up myself. In mobs case, I based it off a doodle I did in class and added a little colour to it
3) Pick fabric and yarn: That’s mainly up to you, depends on what youre going for, but as a fair warning, very light fabric colours will show the stitches and leftover yarn from behind, so you need to tuck them behind the main body of your embroidery later on
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4) Apply to fabric: 2 ways, both pretty much self explanatory, only heres where the stretchiness of the fabric comes into play. As you can see ive developed a fool proof technique, ive had tape stuck to the top of my laptop for weeks now, im not about to waste it? (use more than one tape, this is an old pic i took because the concept was hilarious in the moment) Pro tip: don’t draw your sketch on paper advertising dnd game sets because youre gonna have a hard time seeing the pattern through everything and youll curse yourself for doing that instead of paying attention in class  Pro tip 2: dark fabrics demand a white colour pencil, you literally wont be able to see anything else
5) Stitches: heres a LINK to the page I use to find all the different stitches I could possibly use. Practice makes perfect, i spent about two hours trying each of these out on an irrelevant piece of fabric to see how theyd work and how difficult they are, and still use that bit as ref to consider how a stitch would look on my current piece. Of these, ive only used about three in my finished broids, since theyre mostly for decorative things I think. Don’t let that stop you though, get creative and use the things im too lazy to incorporate!! (ill be using these terms for the rest of the tutorial, so if you dont know a word its probably in there)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
6) Outlines/shading: Start by outlining your sketch with a few backstitches to get a feel for where everything needs to be. If theres shading then itd be useful to do those lines in the other colour already, or youre going to have to fix all that later and itll be a huge pain and make you want to stop altogether. It happens
Im not sure if that’s how its supposed to work but I fill in the shades first, it gives me a good sense of what direction the main colour stitches need to go to make it look dynamic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
7) Fill in mains: This is where all those handy dandy stitches from that library probably wont help you too much if you want to do something relatively simple. Ive only used normal satin stitches to fill in colour so far, though what the link doesn’t mention is that it wastes a shitton of yarn. Yarn is expensive, so what you can do is come up for point 3 not back next to 1 but instead next to 2. Warning: that does warp the way the yarn lies though, so use that one accordingly (for example: I do Not use it when doing small delicate places, or things that need to be detailed in general)
Mob was fairly simple as far as that went since i didnt add a lot of pattern, but ritsu is a little more complicated. Like i said earlier, adding shade before the main colour helps because now i know where the folds in his clothes are and how the fabric would bend to accommodate it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
8) Add details (like faces!):
Again, here I cant tell you exactly how you need to stitch to get everything looking good, just try to follow the way a face has its dynamics. Is it a long face, make lots of long vertical stitches, is it a round one, try to stick to the edges (but don’t spiral)
Facial features are a little more difficult because its hard to make a round nub or dots for pupils on something very small but its better to try 5 times and get it right the 6th instead of leaving the 1st try (i took ritsus entire face apart at least 3 times and t b q h i still think it doesnt look good but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
9) Background: Get real fancy on that shit, heres where you can try out those cool rose shaped stitches from up there in the link, go wild lol
10) Lastly: PATIENCE
I cant stress this enough, this WILL take a loooot of time, the first ritsu I did took me a literal week, while the second one took me roughly four hours in total (and that was a rather simple design).
Accept the fact that it wont look as good as you imagined it. That may sound harsh but for me that’s been my main issue, imagining how a string would lie exactly and then looking on in disgust when that doesn’t work out. You’re not drawing, the medium doesn’t exactly translate, but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing! Try to figure out what methods work best for embroidery exclusively.
Don’t be afraid to undo, be careful about it though. I use those big scissors and it’s a bad idea, don’t do that. Unpicking from the back to save the yarn also works but it gets difficult (and at some point impossible) once the strands start getting woven together on their own
And there you have it, a finished piece of embroidery!!
Tumblr media
You can now either hang it up in its frame and cut away the excess fabric at the sides or tie it around a piece of cardboard like so. it’s a little hard to get right at first but practice amiright
I hope i could be of help!! if you have any more questions feel free to come to my ask anytime!! ^^ <33
