Request:with kie with a like super rich kook SO and bringing them to meet the rest of the pogues and they all expect to hate them but then not

Kiara had never liked you.Well, she had never reallly met you.She kind of just assumed you were a bitch.You were what Sarah Cameron thought she was, you came from a ridiculously rich family.

Your mother was a brain surgeon and your father was a famous actor so that obviously meant that you were ridiculously rich.Kie had done a lot of research on you, finding your name on your fathers wikipedia page and from there finding your blog where you posted videos of him behind the scenes and personal interviews with him on your youtube channel.

She was up for 16 hours straight watching all of your videos, memorising your intro song.You had a good one million subscribers, posting a lot of blogs and videos showing things that you had found on the beach.She would blush and giggle at your little comments.

“Hey, beautiful people!Its your bitch and today im gonna show you guys my new surf board because my old one got broke on an accident.I mean, my wrist also broke so if you were gonna comment on it, trust me.I definitely noticed.So before I get into this video I just want to talk about mental health really quickly.”You paused to take in a quick breath, speaking a bit too fast.

Theres a new suicide game and its getting across social media really quick so please do me a favor and stay safe.It doesnt matter what the problem is now, its only temporary and suicide is a permanent solution.I linked some suicide hotlines and free therapy sources in the description so please just keep yourselves healthy and happy for me, okay?Okay, cool.”You licked your lips, calming down from the quick rant.

“Also drink some fucking water!Its hot out and I almost passed out the other day and make sure you get a snack because this video is already fifteen minutes long and im probably gonna be ranting for another hour.”You grinned at the camera.

Kiara bit into a carrot stick, her knees on her chest as she sat in the recliner of her living room. “Watching another documentary?”Her mother asked, noticing that her daughter hadnt moved in hours.Kie shrugged, focusing on you as you dropped your surfboard. “This is exactly how I broke the first one-fuck!”You laughed, picking it back up.

Eventually the boys started to spam her phone, interrupting her binge watching.She left her house with a sigh, walking out to the dock and waiting for the pogues.Thats when she heard your voice.It was quiet as you walked, wearing white jeans and a light blue button up shirt.

“So you guys always ask me to show you the beach that I find all of my seashells at so thats what we’re-”You paused, looking over to Kiara.She quickly looked away, pretending to be busy on your phone. “Sorry guys, I just saw a really pretty girl.”You whispered to your phone, continuing your walk.

From there she finally worked up the courage to talk to you.She couldnt simply message you on instagram, you had hundreds of thousands of followers so her dm would get lost with all the others.

So she found her prettiest outfit and walked to your house, knocking on the door.You looked at her through the camera of your doorbell, knowing that you had seen her before.You set down your lap top as you were editing, going to answer the door.

“Hi...um...hi.”She laughed, not planning on getting this far. “Hi, um...what’s up?”You cringed at your words. “Nothing much.I just live a block away and I just thought id say hi...im sorry.”She laughed again, becoming more anxious.

“Its fine!So um...I dont know, do you wanna maybe hang out sometime?”You asked, leaning against your doorway.She licked her lips, trying her best not to blush. “Yeah, yeah ok.Um...could I get your number?”She asked, holding her phone.

You nodded, giving her your phone number and telling her to text you whenever.Once the door was closed and she had left you were a squealing mess on your couch, recording.

“So you guys know that pretty girl I was talking about that I saw?Yeah so I just got her number and im low key freaking out-oh god lets just hope she doesnt watch my channel!”You laughed before finishing the editing process, uploading it to youtube.

Kiara got the notification while she was washing her face, watching the video and absolutely losing her mind.She buried her face in her pillow, squealing before deciding to text you.

Unknown number:hey!Its Kiara.Do you wanna hang out tomorrow?

You smiled, letting out a sigh.You screenshotted it, knowing that it would be fun to look back at in the future.

You:Sounds good!Do you want to come over and we can get coffee or lunch or something?

Kie:Okay!!12?

You:Works for me :)

Kie:Okay!

You were anxious the whole night, trying to figure out what to wear.You couldnt decide, posting a poll on your instagram.They decided that you’d be wearing a dark green romper and sandals.You went to bed early since you’d have to wake up before afternoon, heart pounding.

When you woke up it was eleven and you were already behind, hopping in the shower quickly, drying your hair and brushing it, trying to get it to a soft texture.You didnt want to look like you were trying too hard, deciding not to use all of the hair products you’d usually put in your hair before a meeting or a date.

You got into your outfit quickly, pinning your pin back with bobby pins so you could moisturize your face, grabbing your box of beads and parting your hair.You braided the two groups of hair that framed your face, intertwining the beads along the way, securing it with an elastic.

You sighed, twisting a golden flower ring onto your pinkie before going down stairs to sit in your large living room, waiting for Kiara.Your doorbell alerted you to motion outside, getting excited when you saw Kiara walking up to your front door.

She was wearing a pink tube top, light washed jeans with her hair half up and half down, bracelets hugging her wrists.You got up, answering the door the second she rung the bell. “Hi.”You smiled, phone in your pocket.

“Hi.”She smiled back, looking up and down at you.The two of you got into your car, you driving as you started your drive to a cafe. “So how are you?”You asked, realising you knew nothing about her. “Im good, what about you?”She asked, hands in her lap. “I was up all night editing which obviously sucked but you know, it is what it is.”You replied, biting your lip.

She smiled, knowing she’d end up watching the video. “Editing what?Like an edits account on instagram?”She asked, cringing at how stupid it sounded.You shook your head, slowing down once you got to the main road, searching for a parking spot.

“No, I have a youtube channel.I kind of just post random shit and hope for the best.”You answered, pulling up next to the cafe.She nodded, turning to look at you. “That’s cool, what kind of stuff do you post?”She asked, resting her chain against her palm.

You bit your lip, glancing over at the cafe. “I post a lot of interviews and random videos of my dad and sometimes he’ll take me to a set with him and i’ll take videos with the cast.I got to meet Scarlet Johannson so thats cool.”You replied, unbuckling your seatbelt.She grinned.

“Thats fucking awesome-were they in a movie together?”She asked, wanting to hear you talk more. “A show thats coming to Netflix soon, its kind of like a murder mystery meets greek mythology and my dad plays Zeus.We should watch it together.”You answered.

The car was cool but you felt hot, probably because her eyes were focused on you.She nodded, liking the idea of hanging out with you more. “That’d be awesome.”The two of you went inside, the barista grinning at you.

She had always liked you and liked showing up in your vlogs when you came in to get your coffee with boba.She looked to the unknown girl beside you, a small pout on her face. “What can I get for you ladies?”She asked, already preparing your coffee.

“What do you want, Kie?”You asked, moving aside so she could see the menu. “Uhhh….whats a green frappe?”She asked, squinting at the menu. “Oh-its like a blended matcha latte with like mint and vanilla.It's really good.”You explained.

The two of you sat with your drinks, Kiara laughing as you stabbed the boba bubbles at the bottom of your cup. “You know whats cool?These straws are made of hemp plastic so its-”She cut you off before you could finish.

“Biodegradable?”She asked.You nodded, glad someone finally knew what you were talking about. “Yeah!And the company is awesome, they have like 10% of sales going to help the Amazon rain forests and another 10% going to help clean the ocean.”You smiled, taking a sip of coffee.

The afternoon had ended with the two of you on the beach, taking photos of eachother discretely while you finished your drinks, searching for sea glass and watching the sun set.Kiara was freaking out on the inside, knowing that she was pretty much dating a celebrity.

It didnt take long after that first day for her to start showing up in your videos.You held your camera as you two walked down the beach, her hand holding yours and twirling you every once in a while, flashing a smile to the camera.

“So we’re currently on our way to a place that Kie will not tell me about because shes rude.”You spoke, turning the camera to face you.Kiara simply laughed, placing her chin on your shoulder. “Uh...no its because im good at planning surprises.”She answered, grinning when you gasped.

Two surfboards were on the sand along with a blanket and a basket full of fruits, veggies and sandwiches.You cut the camera, giggling and pulling her into a kiss. “Love you.”She grinned, giggling.

“Love you too.”You replied, looking down at the boards.It didnt take long for the two of you to be in only your swimsuits, grabbing the boards and heading towards the water.You clipped the camera to your board, making sure it was secure before stating to film, catching a few good waves on camera before focusing more on Kie.

“There she is, showing off for you guys.”You zoomed in on Kiara as she rode the wave, twisting her body to get a beautiful spin on the dark blue wave.She disappeared under the water, resurfacing with a smile and hair on her face, swimming towards you.

“Did you see that?”She asked, a proud smirk tugging at her lips.You nodded. “How could I miss it?”You asked, earning an eye roll from your girlfriend. “Shut up.”She splashed you, letting out a loud laugh when you splashed back at her.

Turning off the camera, laying on your stomachs against your boards, holding hands so you wouldnt drift away from eachother.It was heaven. “So...ive been thinking lately.”She started, a nervous look on her face.

You raised an eyebrow, waiting for her to continue. “And I think I want you to meet my friends.”She tapped her fingernails against your surfboard, waiting anxiously for your answer.She had told the boys all about you.

About how you had a huge following on youtube, how your dad was an actor and how you lived in the biggest house on figure eight.She had tried her best to tell them that you werent like the others, that you were fantastic and humble.

But of course they didnt believer her and ‘would believe it when they saw it’.She knew that if she didnt end up introducing you to them sooner or later that she’d lost the chance to introduce you at all.

You nodded, considering it. “Yeah, okay.When?”You asked, hoping you’d at least have time to think about this. “Tomorrow.”She replied, wincing when you let out a small shout. “Tomorrow?Shit-Kie, im not ready!”You exclaimed, covering your mouth when you realised how loud you had been.

“Babe, chill.Let me pick out your outfit and it’ll be fine.”She insisted.You gave in, the two of you paddling back to the sand, wrapping up in your towels and sitting on the blanket, eating some cutie oranges.

She spent the night at your house, holding on tight to you even though the two of you were in a king sized bed and she had more than enough space to spread out like a starfish.

The morning came too fast, Kiara raiding your closet for something appropriate for the occasion, pleased when she came across a black bathing suit and a yellow shirt along with some jeans, tossing them at you.

“Babe, you gotta get up.”She told you, already dressed and ready to go.You groaned, finally getting up a few minutes later, slowly changing and not even bothering to pick up your pajamas.You were still sore from last night, stretching your limbs as you pulled the jeans up your body.The boys were spamming her phone, making her annoyed.

She ignored their texts, turning off her notifications and sending you a quick smile, promising to get you an iced coffee on the way.You were half asleep in the passengers seat until she handed you a french vanilla iced coffee, slowly becoming awake.

By the time you had finished your coffee she had pulled into John.B’s drive way, hand on your thigh in attempts to calm you down. “You’re gonna be fine, babe.Everyone likes you, they just havent met you yet.”She grinned, getting out of the car.

You squeezed her hand, following her into the house.The boys were all sitting on the couch, looking up once the two of you had entered.JJ immediately looked you up and down, raising an eyebrow.You felt a bit insecure, trying to figure out what he thought of you.

“This is (Y/N).(Y/N), these are the boys.Thats John.B, thats JJ and thats Pope.”She pointed to each of the boys.The tension in the room was ridiculous until Kiara pulled you into her lap, the boys looking between eachother. “So whats it like having a movie star as a dad?”JJ asked, the first one to speak up.

You bit your bottom lip, pulling at the skin on your hands. “umm...its really cool sometimes.Chris Hemsworth is a family friend so thats cool but like...I cant go anywhere with him when he’s home without getting followed around and there was this one teenage girl stalking him once and she was climbing our house and was watching me sleep.”You answered, relieved when you heard Pope chuckle.

“Wait, actually?Thats so scary.”He replied, the two of you beginning to calm down a bit.You, John.B and JJ were all conversating about Chris Hemsworth, all of them asking a lot of questions.

“Wait-who else have you met from the Avengers?”John.B asked. “I met Scarlet Johanson and Chris Evans.”You replied.Kiara smacked your leg. “You met Christ Evans and never told me?”She asked, outraged.

You rolled your eyes, pulling out your phone to show them the vlog that Chris had made an appearance in.Kiara was just confused as to why she had never seen it before you informed her that it was private.

“Ew-ignore my face.Just wait a few seconds.”You told them, the phone between the circle that had ended up forming. “Oh my god!Its Chris Evans!”JJ shouted, staring at the phone.Chris had leaned over your shoulder, saying a quick ‘hello’ to the camera before Scarlet stole it from you.

“This is Scarlet Johannson and I have decided to take over my new role as (Y/N)’s mom.Im sorry (Y/M/N) but they’re mine now.”She smiled.Her hair had been dyed a light blonde, red lipstick and light eyeshadow.

You had been freaking out the whole time. “Wait-will you ever see her again?”JJ asked.You hummed, sure that she’d be making an appearance for a Christmas Party. “Can you tell her I love her, please?”He asked, face red. “She reaches my vlogs-do you guys want to be in one?”You offered, remembering that you had your camera in your bag.

They all agreed, excited as you took out your camera, Kiara holding onto you. “So Kiara introduced me to her friends today and JJ has a special message for Scarlet.”You grinned, pointing the camera towards him. “Marry me, please.”He winked, giggling.

Pope flashed a peace sign at the camera, John.B sticking out his tongue and doing finger guns. “This is John.B and this is Pope, and then we have Kie as always.”You pointed the camera at her.She bit her lip, winking at the camera and making you laugh.

“Oh my god- what is this vlog.”You shook your head, turning off the camera.When you had posted the vlog that night you were spammed with comments demanding JJ’s instagram and of course you had to give the people what they wanted.

JJ was more than happy to have a ton of pretty girls hyping him up in his comments, Pope getting a lot of attention as well.Scarlet had made sure to let you know that she had watched it and to tell JJ that he was too young for her but she was flattered by the offer.But then your instagram was being spammed.You were being tagged in dozens of edits of you and Kie along with one of you and JJ.But the comments on that one were so funny.

I finally figured out how to send asks on mobile :D Got any headcanons for how Illumi, Hisoka, (plus gon and Killua if it's not too much trouble) would decorate for Christmas? I just think that would be kinda poggers UwU

YESSSS I DO ACTUALLY! CANT WAIT TILL CHRISTMAS GUYS! I decided to just pin this post until the end of December so if anybody else wants any Christmas headcanons I’ll just add it here and I did put extra characters/headcanons because of that reason and if you want me to add anybody else just send in a request about it! (also dont mind the random juiceboxes I just left them out bc I don’t feel like adding new ones when adding random hc’s.) THANKS SO MUCH FOR REQUESTING! 🧃 he’d be the one to act like a mom saying “stupid I’m not buying that it’s too expensive!” and then you wake up with it under the tree- “you thought you weren’t getting it didn’t you?” I stg he is literally EVERY SINGLE MOTHER ON EARTH and it’s not even funny.

🧃 he wants to go play in the snow and make snow angels but he won’t say anything until you say something

🧃 hc that his ears and nose turn kinda red when it’s cold

🧃 he’s literally cooking a red velvet cake and there is no point in stopping him

🧃 he probably isn’t a morning christmas guy, he’s all for around 11-12 gifts so then you guys can bake cookies and play in the snow a ton because you got some energy stored up

🧃 this mf wants chocolate robots for Christmas and probably at one point in his life asked Santa for a new family but he didn’t deliver ig. (Illumi probably wrote him a fake Santa note saying that his family was better than everybody else’s.)

🧃 his parents forced him to go sing those fucking Christmas songs when they know damn well those kids sound ratchet.

🧃 he ALWAYS ends up under the mistletoe with somebody. Even if it’s unintentional it always happens.

🧃 a giant fan of wreaths for some reason? He puts one on every door.

🧃 his favorite holiday is Christmas so ohhh boy this is gonna be magical-

🧃 red green and white colors. you cannot change his mind literally that is what colors are in his head as soon as he hears the word Christmas.

🧃 the tree’s gonna be HUGE and he’s gonna want to decorate every room in the house. The bathroom, your room, his room, and yes he is that one neighbor with the fucking big ass lights outside-

🧃 he is a firm Santa believer he doesn’t take criticism.

🧃 literally is going to wake everybody up at 6 fucking am to open gifts and everybody is gonna do it because can we really resist his pouty face? no.

🧃 the joy on his face opening any gifts make it a fucking can of baked beans makes it all worth losing about 3-4 hours of sleep :,)

🧃 he probably wants toys for Christmas, I get he’s 14 but hxh doesn’t exactly have too much social media so he wouldn’t be trying to grow up too fast

🧃 he would get matching sleepwear for everybody except for some fucking reason it actually will look cute and he won’t just settle for a ugly ass tight suffocating elf sweater.

🧃 he believes Christmas is about spending time with your family and probably donated his old toys to a center so kids who didn’t have toys got some :)

🧃 he’s gonna make sure everybody has a good time, like every single person. it’s a main protagonist thing I guess but I mean I applaud him for it.

🧃 doesn’t quite ever end up under the mistletoe with anybody but if he happened to he’d giggle and kiss their cheek in a friendly way.

Leorio

🧃 he’s gonna reuse the same fucking plastic wrinkled tree he’s been using for 12 years because the tree prices are “insane” even on sale.

🧃 he would be the one a Walmart ringing the little bell and forcing kurapika to sing with him because he needs the money.

🧃 his house is the one with rainbow colored little balls and it’s so ghetto but at the same time adorable

🧃 he is literally that one neighbor who gets the most snow and it’s the snow that’s basically ice and will take around 6 good days to shovel up.

🧃 maybe wont shovel out the snow too early because he wants killua and gon to have fun.

🧃 he wants money for Christmas and nothing more, but kurapika tells him money isn’t a real gift and to ask for something else

🧃 even not being a morning person, he LIVES for morning Christmas.

🧃 probably eats snow.

🧃 he would try to cook and it might work actually

On Christmas eve he would literally sit down and watch movies with killua and gon for exactly 2 hours while leorio waits outside because kurapika wants him to sound like there’s somebody on the roof and kurapika can put the two children to bed and get a break for the rest of the night to finish gift wrapping and food making

hi babe! gosh, i dont even remember when it was that you sent me this ask. i’m so sorry. this isn’t exactly what you asked for, but i hope you like it nonetheless!

Gigi squints, finding something odd about Crystal; maybe she got a new haircut? No, that’s not it, her curls are still barely above her shoulder. Maybe she got another tattoo? That’s not it either, all of her tattoos are the ones she’s already seen. There’s nothing new about her — she’s just sitting in the couch, eating cereal as she watches trash reality TV programs, while Gigi tries to study for her upcoming exams in the other side of the couch.

And then, it clicks.

“Is that my shirt?” Gigi asks, when the realization dawns on her. Crystal shifts her attention from the TV to Gigi, and she doesn’t look the least bit phased.

“Uh, yeah,” it’s all that she says, as if it’s no big deal. “I asked you if I could borrow a shirt today in the morning, because I haven’t done any laundry and I don’t have clean clothes anymore. And you said yes,” Crystal says, matter-of-factly. Gigi squints.

“Did I? I would remember,” she says, though it’s practically a lie. Gigi can’t remember anything that doesn’t concern her exams, and it’s very probable that she wasn’t even listening to Crystal, just agreeing on whatever she said to make her shut up and let get go over her text book in peace.

But she obviously doesn’t tell her that.

Crystal cocks a brow, setting her bowl of cereal in the small coffee table they got on a sale for $20, when Gigi moved in and they saw each other a lot more.

“Would you though,” Crystal inquires in a high pitched tone, scrunching up her nose. “I asked you if you could do the dishes the other day, you said yes, but I ended up doing them myself,” she points out, and Gigi bites the inside of her cheek.

Okay, so what if she hasn’t paid attention to Crystal that much in the last… Couple of months, weeks? She was very upfront with her when she said she’s not the best at remembering things, and her schedule was a bit of a problem when it came to helping around the apartment. Crystal had accepted, desperate to find someone to split the rent with and didn’t think much about it.

So really, it’s not her fault. And she tells Crystal as much. Crystal rolls her eyes again.

“I think you should learn to relax, Geeg. We’ve been living together for six months now and I barely know anything about you, and that’s ‘cause all you do is studying and working,” Crystal says, and Gigi clenches her jaw. Shit, she’s right.

Crystal scoots herself closer in the small couch, tucking her legs under her body as she intently stares at Gigi. And then Gigi notices she does have something new to her — a nose piercing in her left nostril. It suits her, she thinks.

“C’mon, Geeg, you can talk to me!” She insists, and Gigi bites her lip, tapping her nails against her text book. She’s losing studying time. She’s about to protest when Crystal continues, “The only things I know about you is that you’re majoring in fashion, you work at a boutique downtown, you bleach your hair every two months, you drink ungodly amounts of coffee, you’re a lesbian…” Crystal lists, and it takes Gigi a moment to realize what she said.

“How’d you know I’m a lesbian?” She asks, coming off more defensive than she meant.

Crystal cocks a brow with a shit eating grin.

“I have an amazing gaydar,” she begins, winking at her, “And you have a pin with the lesbian flag attached to your backpack. I’m no genius, but I can put two and two together,” Crystal retorts, snickering as she sees Gigi’s embarrassed expression.

“Oh, right. That pin’s been there since my senior year in high school, I’ve never bothered to take it off,” she comments with a shrug. Crystal laughs wholeheartedly, and Gigi thinks she has a nice laugh.

“Well, this is a start! Wanna tell me more about yourself, Miss Goode?” Crystal inquires with a toothy smile. Gigi is about to speak when her stomach grumbles, remembering her that she has yet to bring herself to make any kind of dinner. “You hungry? There are some leftover enchiladas that I did for dinner, I can heat them up for you,” she offers enthusiastically, and Gigi cocks a brow, amused.

“You know how to cook enchiladas?” She asks, following Crystal to the kitchen.

“Yup! My abuelita taught me, because my mom can’t cook, so you know it’s extra spicy.” Crystal winks at her, rummaging through the refrigerator, and Gigi wants her to never stop talking.

I'm curious about online shops. Got any general information / details that might go missed?

i am a dumb dumb that has inhaled too much information the past couple weeks trying to learn so take what i say w/ several grains of your preferred salts

this all goes for etsy/shopify/whatever you use for e-commerce. the levels of serious you take it and get into it i think depends on how far you want to take your online shop... or how much you make. google the hell out of your states sales tax laws and apply for a sales tax permit in your state before you sell a damn thing. ill go over the stuff i think really needs to be highlighted for anybody mulling over starting a legit shop, esp artists who want to make a living selling their stuff.

this will be how you feel when youre 2 hours into logo trademarking research

1. hm..

if you make, or plan to make, over $400 in sales, then most states consider this going beyond a hobby and being self-employed. so accept the fact you gotta pay a self-employment tax on your income.

also... gotta pay federal and state income taxes on your sales. even if your online shop is technically considered a hobby, not licensed as a business and you dont make over $400, still gotta report/pay income taxes on it. i know a lot of ppl dont take that seriously but it might bite you in the ass if you let it go on too long.

2. register sole proprietorship so i know its real

registering in your home state as a legit business entity is likely a solid route to go if you really plan on fleshing your shop out and building it up for the future. most artists starting an art shop or craft shop file a SOLE PROPRIETORSHIP type of business- meaning the business isnt a place or a group of owners, its just lil ole you. you file under your own name or a “Trade Name”/DBA (Doing Biz As) with your state. but beware, this trade name isnt trademarked or federally protected. and since you ARE your business, any tax trouble means the IRS is auditing you personally and holding you personally liable.

its relatively affordable to file, but take your bookkeeping seriously... be careful because the IRS eyeballs sole proprietorships’ reported taxes and expense deductions hardcore, since the lines between business and personal expenses get really blurry and sketchy. the more you need to save, the more you need to log as a deduction, and the more you deduct the more likely they’ll try to audit you and catch a mistake. so keep your books right and tight. that being said, IMMEDIATELY OPEN A BUSINESS ACCOUNT AT BANK/CREDIT UNION AND KEEP ALL BUSINESS RELATED PURCHASES/SALES ON THAT ACCOUNT and not your personal one!!!

3. bite the hand that takes your income away!!!

sole proprietorship means your business income = your income, aka “pass thru entity” where profit in your business passes thru and adds to your personal taxable income. it used to be that your business income was just taxed at the same rate as your personal income bracket and thats it. BUT LISTEN UP! NEW 2018 TAX LAWS ADDED A STANDARD 20% DEDUCTION TO TAXABLE INCOME FOR PASS-THRUS WITH LESS THAN $157,500 REPORTED INCOME. that's auto-subtracted along with your business expense deductions etc, before it’s taxed. what does that mean? it can knock your taxable income down: if you’re single and make $38,700 you get taxed $3.7k instead of $4.6k. If you make $82,500, you get taxed $14.5k instead of $18.1k. And thats not even accounting for other deductions before being taxed.

applying sooner than later for sole propriety/”pass through entity” can really help because of BUSINESS EXPENSE DEDUCTIONS. if you keep careful itemized records and your books clean, you can report tons of business related expenses and get your taxable income at the end of the year lowered. that new tablet, paints, software you bought on the business-only card? the gas you put in your car to get to your anime con, the hotel you stayed at? take it even further: shipping costs, wholesale costs, promo merch for advertising (stickers & swag) and even fees from hiring an accountant can usually be claimed. there’s a LOT that can be claimed.

dont skimp on the research because just logging and reporting expenses can make or break your shop. [heres another link] applying to be a business entity early means more of your start-up costs are logged and claimed as expenses.

and you know what happens at the end of the year when you report your income and claimed expenses? the expenses are subtracted from your total reported income, and youre taxed on whats left. so if you make $50,000 by the end of the year, but you spent $10,000 in approved business expenses, you’re only taxed for $40,000- but wait! 20% deduction= $8k, which drops your taxable income to $32,000. you just dropped from a 22% tax rate bracket to a 12% and you end up only paying $3,840 in taxes. that is only 7.6% tax on your 50k income!! and you could probably pay even less with all the other tax breaks you can score.

make sure you read up on the IRS website on this stuff too. look up youtube videos and stuff to make sense of anything that confuses you. and dont forget to crawl your state’s own websites and see if they have any tax breaks or incentives for start-ups, artists, etc!!and now the worst part. im so sorry.

4. the ugly seven-headed demon of sales tax and online shops....... stay with me plsthis is the biggest thing and becoming a super hot topic these days with states wanting to cash in on online sales to their residents

first things first: NEXUS. think of your sales tax nexus as the physical irl presence of your business, in a state-by-state basis. customers in states you hold nexus in? gotta charge them sales tax. customers from states you DO NOT hold nexus in? no sales tax for them! (for now... ill explain later)

you have nexus in your home state, obviously since you are your biz and you live there, so you’ll need to charge sales tax on anybody buying from you in your home state. BUT.... if you contract someone in another state to do design work for you, unfortunately that means you also have nexus or “presence” in their state, too. if you have a warehouse storing inventory in another state, yep, another nexus and another state wanting to cash in on sales tax. getting enamel pins made in yet another state and they drop-ship your orders for you on your business’s behalf? yeah, likely another state to report sales tax to.

collecting sales tax isnt a big problem- nearly every ecommerce site like etsy, shopify, bigcommerce and the like automatically configure sales tax in U.S. states you set up as a nexus for your shop. the problem comes around when you’ve got to apply for a sales tax permit in every nexus state, and then keep track of all the filing deadlines. every state is different. just four nexus states to report to means there are four permits to apply for, four reporting/filing schedules/deadlines to keep track of... and each state has different schedules, you could have two states requiring you to report annually and two states quarterly. it can be really hairy and a lot to keep track of if you’re not careful.try to keep your sales tax nexus in ONLY your home state, if at all possible. use manufacturers in your state to print/drop-ship orders.if theyre out of state, have them send the finished product back to you before you mail it off to customers, so you can avoid creating a new taxable nexus.

still with me? this is the ugly part sorry:

the other big problem with having multiple nexus to report is how much sales tax varies- not just state by state but by city, town, county, even jurisdiction !

one state can have HUNDREDS of different sales tax rates to report, and you have to clearly report each individual one you collect sales tax in.

for instance, over a year you sell to multiple people in your nexus state-- in the same exact county, under the same sales tax ordinance. they live near a bunch of schools so their county has an added jurisdiction sales tax that goes toward education programs. the report you file has to clearly define how much tax $ you’ve collected from them so that state knows exactly how much is going back to that jurisdiction, so they can divvy it up for that sweet sweet education funding.

now imagine that multiplied across counties, cities, and then doubled with another entire state... and thats why keeping your nexus low is a huge deal for someone who’s running an online store solo.

thankfully, you probably wont have to input all that data yourself.

MAKE SURE you find a good website to settle into- that, at the very least, compiles this information for you to make it less of a headache to file in the right format, with the right info. there are upgrade auto-file options built into most ecommerce websites, so you dont even have to worry about it or think about missing a deadline... but that monthly fee might be too expensive to manage at first. that would be one of the FIRST things i’d do once i could swing it, to eliminate any chance of late fees, getting audited or having my sales tax permit suspended for that nexus state.

5. IMPORTANT!!: even if you make absolutely $0 dollars in sales from any nexus state, you STILL HAVE TO REPORT IT AND FILE BY THE DEADLINE. don’t get a $50 fee over literally nothing.

ANIME CON OR CRAFT CON ARTIST/VENDOR? BEWARE!

always research the convention’s home state/city sales tax regulations before registering (or blowing money making merch) for a con. it varies great and wide and has been changing a lot so always recheck before cons. some states supply simple time-limited permits, some states dont require sales tax at all for 2/3 day vendors, and some states will qualify a single physical sale as creating a permanent nexus. dont overlook that stuff or you’ll regret it when you get home to do business as usual with your shop and you have to start charging/reporting sales tax for every customer from that state!!

6. but wait ore.. you said something ominous about no sales tax for non-nexus states...... “for now”..?

yeeahhh... there’s a big national reform going on currently and it boils down to: Jeff Bezos ruined ecommerce for everybody. fuck you greedy bastard!!

a slew of states are jumping on a bandwagon to snipe up more sales taxes and create “Economic Nexus Laws”. this may not really apply to you at the start of your shop, but its something you need to be aware of for future ref.

basically states are passing laws that say, “If you make more than $XXXX or do more than XXX transactions selling to people here, that creates a state nexus and you need to get a sales tax permit with us.” which, is not ideal. the good thing is, most sales thresholds in these states are between $10k - $500k, so its not a problem you’ll face right off the bat. transaction numbers might be the one to watch out for, though. once you hit a few hundred transactions in a state it might create a nexus and you’ll have to start charging sales tax.

the problem is this: 1) every participating state has different thresholds, rules, and sometimes tax deductible/exempt items. thats a lot of fine print to go thru and toggling options on your shop, and a LOT of sales tax bookkeeping, filing, reporting, managing. 2) some ecommerce sales tax plugins and clients havent caught up yet to be compliant and convenient for online sellers, its a big job to program and categorize all these variables. when choosing your website host, be sure to vet their built in sales tax clients and see that they’re updating and streamlining capabilities ASAP. it may not be a concern now, but you wouldnt want your shop to boom and have to shut down, lose money and switch hosts to be eco-nex sales tax compliant.3) for successful solo start-up shops, this almost makes it impossible to file your own sales taxes once you pass those thresholds. this is like 30 states! youd spend so much time doing paperwork, its just not feasible. there will be a rising cost of economic nexus management and auto-filing services that you just cant run your business online without.

last night I dreamed that I was an archeologist tortoise and I was looking at dozens of “human” skeletons in Buckingham palace that was also my backyard. the skeletons all looked like combo human and turtle because the whole torso looked basically like the first google image result for sea turtle skeleton. then my sister woke me up, giving me a comforter and telling me my mom need help with some things. cleaned up around the living room and did some laundry and boiled some eggs and made meatloaf and swept the floor. the meatloaf turned out surprisingly good, idk what I did differently. I evemtually went back to my room and tried to remember what I wanted to do today. last night as I was falling asleep I told myself that I was gonna clear off my desk so I could finally use it, so I moved some stuff around and set up my laptop. I havent been able to sit at a real actual desk in SO LONG and its SO NICE to have just like a space where I can sit down and work and have a chair that will support my back instead of sitting cross legged on my bed or laying down while doing stuff on my laptop. it almost makes me feel productive even I'm just playing the sims. I feel especially cool when im just typing out whatever bullshit because it makes me feel like im at an office job typing up ~important documents~ :) idk man I think quarantine has changed me lmao. if im getting this many emotions from just being able to sit down at a desk and do ANYTHING idk how im gonna handle collage. I keep calling whetever im doing (playing the sims, scrolling through Tumblr, typing up this summary of the day) work because it just. feels nice sitting at a desk and typing. even if it’s dumb bullshit!! idk how to describe it I just feel amazing. it makes me feel like im writing a paper with all the horrible parts like research and thinking. the sound of typing on my MacBook makes me feel like im in school again, but without the horrible stressful parts. idk mn I know I've been going on about this desk and stuff for too long and im gonna hate it if I eventually read back through these daily logs but I just feel so nice. ill change topics anyway. I hung up my calendar again! I literally didn't have any open wall space aside from maybe the wall behind my bed but why the hell would I put a calendar where I can't see it. instead its kind of hanging above my closet. I pinned it to the wooden board in the “doorway” (idk what other word to use) where there would normally be sliding doors that open and shut if they hadn't been taken off YEARS ago. I also played a lot of the sims 4, juggling aspirations for 5 sims. I quit because I got frustrated that all my sims are dumb and the ai Is buggy and doesn't let me do what I want them to do. I also plopped in a house on my family’s old lot and spent some time adjusting the colors and the trees and adding those paper craft cieling things that can either have stars or leaves or snowflakes that came in the free winter holiday stuff pack and holy shit as soon as I found those I think they became my new favorite decoration item. I threw them everywhere but eventually took down most of them, leaving some leaf ones in the bedroom. I was gonna move in a family of a bunch of young adults and children to help with the first kid’s serial romantic aspiration and one of the twin’s social butterfly aspiration, but I ended up not doing that in favor of just decorating more and playing with the family some more. one thing I realized while playing is that there are fucking MICE in my CIELING. well not really in the cieling, in the attic, but I can hear them chewing on shit and its sucks. I would turn on a fan to drown out the noise but my room is fucking FREEZING. I threw the blanket back over my window hoping that it would keep heat from escaping but I don't think that really did anything. so after freezing my ass off I got fed up and put on fluffy socks under normal socks, wore my owl onesie as pants over my shorts, put on my comfy (oversized hoodie), and threw a fluffy blanket over my shoulders. thankfully I was pretty cozy after that, but as I type this after taking off the cosy and blanket, I can feel my toes getting cold again. damnit. ANYWAY after quitting the sims for the night I ate some salad and got a heart shaped crouton :) and I scrolled through Tumblr for a bit. then I decided to finally work on the paws my friend wanted. but I couldn't find the pattern so I instead worked on the brown paws instead. I could only work on them so much, since I still have to finish the lining before I can do much else. I attached the backs of the fingers to the back of the hand. I didnt get much down but what matters is that I did SOMETHING. I'm gonna keep an eye out for that pattern that I need, and if I cant find it, I'll just make a new pattern. tbh I think thad’s be the better way to go anyway since I wouldn't have to figure out how the fuck the old one goes together and I can also have a pattern that perfectly fits the foam underneath. also tbh i have mixed feeling about the white paws my friend wants. I like how dextrous they are and how easily you can emote and move your fingers, but I dont like how ovular I made the paw pads and the hints of black thread peaking out where I sewed the pads from the back. I WOULD just remake them with the free curl works pattern im using for the brown paws but I figure I might as well finish this pair since there’s already one done and the foam interior is already made. whatever. I dont wanna think about it too much. I also dont like the head that goes with the paws, it was a fish job in comparison to my first head and I kinda hate it. but I think I'll eventually get some longer fur for the neck and a hair poof and cheeks (maybe) and do a little refurbishing and give it to my friend if she ever wants it, since it matches the paws and all. I have lots of plans for my 2 WIP heads but not all the materials/motivation. plus I just need to let the ideas stir before I do unything, making sure they’re goof before I act on them. I'm exited that I can shave down fur relativey easily and evenly without an electric dog shaver, which opens up a lot of opportunities. anyway as I was working on the brown paws I had TAZ on in the background and it still baffles me a little bit how different griffin and Matt mercer operate as dms like holy shit. its really funny. and it got me thinking about how I wouldn't mind dming for my friend group if he chance ever arose. I DO have the forgotten realms campaign setting book. I haven't actually looked at it but I assume it has a few pre-built quests and plot lines n stuff in it. I'll probably take a better look at in the morning when it’s not 1:40 am. dang now I'm thinking about my Minecraft dnd idea again. I think the real problem keeping me from being a dm is that I CANNOT keep a straight face when doing improv/roleplaying, so I dont know how well I could hold together a world for them to play in. I would love to give it a try tho. not with the Minecraft idea at the same time, fuck no. I would need to do like. a classic vanilla dnd experience the first time, maybe even using our tiefling family characters since I'm at least a little familiar with them. can you dm and also play your own character? is that fair? is that a think you can do? I think that could be fun but also hard to juggle and also maybe kinda suck because you’d already know all the answers to all the puzzles. meh. actually now I kind of really want to look through thet book tonight instead of in the morning. also I mentioned overnight oats a few days ago I think, and the first morning it was kinda gross, the second time I ate it was still a little gross texture wise, but I finished it off tonight and it was pretty good. maybe next time I'll try it without the banana and a little less milk and maybe slice up an apple into little cubes for texture. hell yeah peanut butter apple cinnamon brown sugar overnight oats. that sound pretty dang good actually. I'll try that some time, but I dont think I can right now because I dont think we have any apples in the house. phooey. I should also probably put this oatmeal cp in the sink before it becomes impossible to clean. holy shit how long have I been writing? SEE THE DESK MAKES ME JUST WANNA KEEP WRITING AND WRITING FOREVER I FEEL SO PRODUCTIVE EVEN IF IM NOT DOING ANYTHING PRODUCTIVE!! I love just typing and typing forever its so soothing just hearing the tapping of the keyboard and getting my thought out without actually having to think that hard about it. goddamn im never gonna read back through this this is a nightmare lmao. no paragraph breaks no capitalization no nothin. I dont even wanna stop typing even though my arm is starting to hurt a little but from leaning the edge of the desk. now im thinking about the movie soul again and the cat as it rides on the escalator to the great beyond and how that dude in the band was the main characters student and how that scene with the girl trying to quit music and then immediately changed her mind didnt make any sense. like what the hell I dont understand that scene at all. also thinking about the transition where he’s like “ok repeat after me” as he’s in the cat and the camera goes over the mom’s shoulder and it’s just him talking, I like how they did that instead of doing dialouge between him and the cat. idk man. I think maybe I should stop typing now since my body is starting to hurt. sorry for putting this H U G E wall of text on your dash but I just like typing out my thoughts :) goodnight!

edit: OH I forgot to talk about something else!! last night I was thinking about valentines day and how cute it would be to have a little overall dress in the pattern on one of my childhood blankets, its like a light pink with white hearts on it so I looked up some fabrics and none of them were the right pattern. I also looked up a sewing pattern that I think would look nice and its on sale right now! I totally want to try and make it, but fabric is expensive so I think I might look at dollar tree for fleece baby blankets because I know they have them there, I bought a few a while ago for some plush sewing projects. they’re decently sized so I think I could do it.idk how many I would need to buy tho. or I might go to goodwill and look for a pink sheet? I have a thin pink blanket that could theoretically work but I want to use a planet im not attached to. or even just find a few big shirts in the same shade of pink? then I could maybe line it with something. I have red purple and white satin but that’s literally the worst fuckin fabric in the world to work with. my first experience with sewing was trying to make plushies out of satin and holy hell idk how I did it. anyway even though I literally never wear dresses I think it would be a fun project to try and make myself a cute little valentines dress. :) I could even give myself POCKETS >:)))

hello! i am a singaporean artist as well, and hope to venture into merch making. i was wondering if you could tell me where you got your acrylic charms and enamel pins printed! and also, if you dont mind, some advice on boothing at cons! i really love your work aaahhhhhh;;

Hello!! Thank you so much ;v;;;; I hope this reply wasn’t too late orz I’m really glad!!! I got my acrylic charms from Vograce and my enamel pins from yyyproducts! Contact them both directly and talk to the service reps if you would like to order from them :) Just be aware that when it comes to sharing merch sources, companies can be overwhelmed with orders and make the quality of their work go down.

As for advice on boothing at cons, is there anything specific you would like to know? If not I’ll just lay out some very general pieces of advice that I think are pretty important!

Smile, be friendly, don’t push people to buy your work, but also engage with them if they seem like they’re interested! Boothing can be scary at first because it is very much a social job, but the more you do it the more you’ll come to recognise social cues from potential customers. Try not to seem too disinterested or be on your phone all the time!

Don’t undersell your work! Check prices of what other people are selling and try to match for something similar. Keep in mind the production price of what you made and make sure you make some profit. Sometimes I see people selling merch for EXTREMELY cheap and this only hurts fellow artists.

Don’t overestimate how much you can sell. It’s easy to think it would be better to order merch in bulk because the more you buy the cheaper each product is, but it is more difficult than you might think to sell every piece unless you are already a popular artist. What will happen is that you will end up with a stock of merch you just can’t get rid of gathering dust and taking up space in your house. For example, for prints, 5-10 of each design for a con is already enough.

Don’t be disappointed in yourself if you don’t make as much as you expected or if you didn’t sell much of an item. Although we follow market trends such as selling artwork of popular subjects (popular anime, cute cats and dogs), it can also be difficult to predict exactly how well something will sell. It’s not necessarily the fault of your artwork. Plus, if a market is too saturated with a certain subject matter, it can also make things more difficult! It’s good to keep up with trends but don’t rely on them. Nowadays, they change too quickly.

Make friends with other artists! Give yourself some time during the con to walk around and say hi to other boothers. It’s a good way of putting yourself out there, gaining new followers, and even trading some merch. (Art trades typically happen within the last hour on the last day of the convention.) We all want to support each other! I especially love supporting small artists as much as I can.

Booth together with other people! It is so much easier to handle boothing when you are working together with a partner. I often group together with around 1-3 other artists and we help each other when it comes to setting up, making sales, and packaging up merch for customers. It also won’t be as boring during the lazy parts of the day when traffic is low.

Boothing is more tiring than it seems. Sure, you’re just sitting around all day, but with the amount of people coming and going it can be quite draining. Prepare yourself to be spent once the day is over. This is probably a given for any event but be sure you get enough sleep the night before!

Wow, that was a lot more than I expected to write! It really depends on the person but for me, as tiring as it is, I love boothing and it is always so rewarding knowing that people are willing to pay money for your work. Sometimes I’ll see familiar faces and people wearing my merch and it just makes me so warm and fuzzy inside.

All the Little Horses Part 7

Week 20

You've got a heavyweight in your belly at 20 weeks pregnant (well, in baby terms, anyway). Your little champ weighs about 10 ounces and has a height, crown to rump, of about six and a half inches. Think small cantaloupe (and probably as sweet too). While your baby is definitely getting bigger, there's still plenty of growing room in there, which allows them to twist and turn (and allows you to feel those acrobatics!). You may find, a few ambivalent or anxious feelings you're even ambivalent about admitting (Me a mom? There must be some mistake!). Don't worry — and hang on. At some point in pregnancy (and usually once that pregnancy becomes a very visible reality) just about every expectant mother (and father!) begins to feel anxiety and fear as though she's on a runaway train — with enormous changes coming round the bend

I stood in the kitchen, cutting up an apple for breakfast, focusing intently on the crisp sound of the knife cutting through the fresh fruit. I’d gone to the store the other day, and had spent ninety percent of the time trying to convince Cal that we didn’t need half of the things he grabbed, and the other ten percent trying to control my desire to grab random things to make concoctions. Eating natural sugar was supposed to control my craving for other types according to my mother, but I still ended up eating ice cream at eleven at night only to groan in annoyance after a few spoonfuls and put it back. After a few minutes though, I would have the carton back out and a spoon in hand. Cal always found this little routine funny, but he constantly joined in, and told me that anything in moderation was fine. Besides, he’d tease, I was constantly walking and doing all the work outs that Ada had specified for me. At least those made me feel a little better about the massive weight that was sitting between my hips.

Cal chose that moment to leave the bedroom. He hummed to himself while he fixed his cuff links and pinned them together. I watched him out of the corner of my eye as he came up behind me and pressed a light kiss on my cheek. I chuckled softly, and set the knife down, before stepping around him to grab the bottle of ketchup I had left on the counter. He glanced at it suspiciously before saying, “You put that on your apples and I swear to God, I will break off our engagement.”

Smiling wickedly at him, I uncapped the bottle and dumped it on my apples. Cal looked appalled when I lifted one of the apples slices up and bit into it then, ketchup and all. I swallowed and then sticking my tongue out at him, I said, “Go ahead, break up with me.”

Turning away he grumbled something and I smiled as I leaned my lower back against the counter and finished my apple slice. I swallowed, and revealed in how good it felt to keep food down, even if it was the most disgusting combination the world had yet to see. As I went to grab another slice, my stomach did a rapid turn, and my hand flew to my belly, which had swollen to twice its size over the past month. Cal hadn’t noticed my movement yet, and I felt the baby turn again, and place a soft kick into my hip. I smiled to myself, and ran my hand along the spot where I had felt the movement, ignoring the pains in my skin from its growth.

Cal turned around from pouring his coffee and the minute he saw my hand, his eyes dropped to my stomach and he asked, “She moving again?”

“He is moving like an Olympic gymnast, maybe we should think about enrolling him in gymnastics.” I replied with a mischievous smile. Our baby certainly seemed up to the task. It had been tossing in my stomach for days now, kicking and making its presence known, mostly in the middle of the night when I was sleeping. And just like my mother had promised, sleep was getting harder to find. I had started pressing myself up against Cal’s back so that he could feel our child’s acrobatics, but also because I liked the support now.

Just as everyone had promised me, the first few weeks of my second trimester had been fantastic, I had felt amazing, but now, everything was starting to catch up with me. My new weight now felt like a hundred pounds when it was really only ten, my ankles were swollen, and my legs felt like they might seize up at any second. Other than those though, I felt like I was actually glowing. The baby wasn’t too much of a pain yet, and I could still enjoy it, but that was going to change very soon, and I knew that.

Cal stepped toward me and setting his mug on the counter next to me, he leaned down and cupped the back of my neck to pull me in for a kiss. I smiled around the touch and whispered, “Are you going to get off work early today?”

“Most likely, why?” He replied as he set his hand on my stomach and baby kicked out against his hand, making him smile. I set my hand on top of his and grinning up at him, I whispered, “Because I want to start looking at paint for the nursery, and what we might want to do for cribs and all that. My mom told me at lunch yesterday that we better start planning now, cause it’ll be here before we know it.”

Cal seemed to glow with happiness, before pressing a kiss to my forehead and whispering, “I’ll be home by six, and I’ll bring take out. Do you want Chinese again?”

I made a face and pulled away, shaking my head. He laughed and grabbed his coffee from behind me. “Alright, I call you and ask what you want when the time comes.”

With that he grabbed his jacket and was walking out the door. I smiled and waved at him, admiring how sure he seemed about this whole thing. Where I was stumbling around, trying to balance reading baby books, and blogs about pregnancy, he seemed to just have a natural affinity for the whole topic. It made me that much more settled though. Heaven forbid if he was in a panic about this whole thing. I didn’t need to see the mess that would come out of the two of us both panicking about this.

A couple hours later in the day, I had decided that Gisa was probably more prepared for being a mother than I was, and I was having my baby in less than five months. She had insisted on me coming with her to look at canvases and paints for the painting she was going to do for the baby’s nursery.

Walking ahead of me, her arms laden with art supplies, she called over her shoulder, “Maybe you guys should do like a jungle theme? I could come in and paint trees and animals all over the room.”

Laughing at how invested she was in a room that hadn't even been decided on, I said, “I’ll add it to the list of ideas.”

She turned down another aisle, and I followed dutifully, my eyes taking in the glittering paint and colored paper. Gisa simply turned and dumped everything in the cart I had and then said, “See, I need to know what you guys are doing ahead of time so I can finish the painting.”

Shaking my head I picked up a particularly loud shade of yellow and looked it over before putting it back and sighing. My sister was in front of me in seconds her eyes observant as she asked, “Everything okay?”

I simply moved her to the side and and grabbed another bottle of paint to look at. My sister would not be ignored though. She grabbed something off the shelf and then sticking her face back in mine she asked in a sing song voice, “Oh Mare, what are you thinking?”

I laughed at the hideous ceramic mask she was holding up to her face. She had probably seen it on the shelf and had grabbed after it to go along with her silly voice. Rolling my eyes at her as she danced around my back to my other side, I teased, “You’re weird, you know that?”

She set the mask down and then stuck her tongue out before replying, “Oh please, and you aren't?”

“No, I just hide it better than you.” I laughed as I put the paint back and turned to look at the other side of the aisle. Gisa didn’t let my tone fool her though. My charades had never been good enough to get past my astute little sister. She stepped up next to me again and then asked softly, “What’s on your mind?”

I glanced at her out of the corner of my eye for a moment, but she was busy looking down at the paintbrushes that were for sale. Surely I could tell my little sister what was bothering me? Gisa had a wisdom beyond her years, she had been gifted that from a young age it seemed. I sighed softly again, wishing I had that kind of insight, before whispering, “have you ever thought your were so ill prepared for something that you were going to ruin everything?”

She raised a perfectly kept brow at my question before looking at me with a worried expression. “Mare, I dont think you’re going to be a bad mother. I think you’re going to be a great one actually.”

“As nice as it sounds coming from you, that’s not how I feel. I mean honestly Gisa, I’ve never really liked kids, you know that.” I said quickly as I started to walk along the shelves, looking at all the items there. Gisa trailed after me, like a little ray of sunshine that was slowly being covered with clouds. “But its different when it’s your kid, I see the way you get when no one’s looking. You’re always smiling down at your stomach and whispering to it. You love your baby already Mare, dont you?”

“Of course I do,” I admitted softly, and then shaking my head I continued, “But it’s not about loving it. I just... what if I can’t handle it? How the hell do you raise another human being without actually knowing what you’re doing half the time?”

Gisa shrugged and then said, “Do you honestly think mom and dad knew what they were doing half the time with us. I mean come on, they raised the five of us, and we didn’t turn out too bad.”

I chuckled, and then gave her a tiny smile as I said, “No, I guess we didn't.”

“And come on, your parenting books that you keep reading? Don’t deny that you read them, I’ve seen you. They have to at least say something about the fact that parenting is faking it till you make it ninety percent of the time.” She said with a roll of her eyes before grabbing our cart and pushing it along side me. She titled her head to the side as she leaned against the handle of the cart and reassured, “Besides, you’re not going to be perfect as a parent, no one is, but your baby’s going to love you no matter how many times you mess up.”

“Maybe you should write a parenting book.” I replied with a laugh as I slipped my arm through hers and walked next to her. Her words had certainly been reassuring. Maybe I had been going about this all wrong, maybe I should be focused less on the future and what might come, and more one what was going on right now. After all, if my baby kept growing as fast as it was, I was going to miss everything while I was busy worrying about it. Gisa shrugged at my comment, pulling me out of my thoughts, and then flicking her fiery hair over her shoulder, she said, “It’ll look into writing a series of self help books after I’m done become a major fashion designer.”

I sank into the couch with my mug of hot chocolate, and then snuggled into Cal’s side, tucking my feet underneath me while I leaned my head on his shoulder. He was busy scrolling through a color catalogue and picking colors while I ate his leftover pasta. I sipped at my drink and then jumping to attention, I pointed to a gorgeous shade of baby blue and annouced, “That one, I want that one.”

“You can’t just pick shades of blue, Mare.” Cal replied with an annoyed huff, as he wrote down the name of the color anyway. I grinned at the fact that I was getting my way, and pressing a kiss to his cheek, I whispered, “Well, it’s a boy, so…”

“Why do you want a boy so badly?” Cal whispered, as if it were a joke, but underneath his teasing tone, I heard a hint of pain. Twisting my neck to glance up at him, I asked, “What’s wrong, why are you getting so defensive?”

“I’m not getting defensive.” He argued, but I could still hear it in his tone. Turning myself completely to face him side on, I replied, “Yes, you are, what’s going on Cal, talk to me.”

He slammed the computer closed before putting in on the table and standing up. My back straightened immediately and mug ace heated as he shouted, “I just don’t want a son, there’s nothing else to it!”

Gripping my mug tighter in my hands, I hissed, “No there is, or you wouldn’t be acting like this.”

His hands closed into fists at his side, before he threw his arms up and shouted, “You want to know why, fine. I don’t want a son, because I’m terrified that I’m going to be exactly like my father with him.”

I sat in stunned silence, confusion written all over my features. He sat down heavily next to me, and buried his head in his hands as he mummbled, “I just want my kid to be happy, to know that no matter what choices they make, I love them, and that it’s okay for them to not agree with me. But I’m so worried, because everyday I feel like I’m becoming more and more like my father.”

I set my mug down quietly on the table. Slowly I scooted closer to him, and wrapped my arms around his middle before setting my head on his shoulder. “Cal, why didn’t you tell me you felt this way?”

“You were worrying enough as it was, and I... and I figured this feeling would pass eventually.” He whispered as he slowly tried to pull away. I held him tighter though, and whispered, “You know, Gisa told me something really profound today.”

He snorted and then murmured, “She does that on a daily basis I feel like.”

“She’s wise beyond her years, thats for sure,” I replied, my lips pulling up in a solemn smile before I continued, “She told me that we’re not going to be perfect parents, no one can be, but no matter what happens, our baby will love us, and we will love it.”

Turning his head slightly to look at me, he said, “I doubt our kid will love me if I tell him how to live every aspect of his life.”

I set my chin on his shoulder and smiling I replied, “No one likes being told what to do, but I think we do what we think is right for the kid. It’ll be our job to take care of this baby and to help it so that it doesn't go through the same hardships that we went through.”

He turned his head slightly to press his forehead against my own as he whispered, “What would I ever do without you?”

“Probably nothing.” I replied with a light laugh. Inside of me, the baby somersaulted again, and I smiled even wider as I buried myself in Cal’s arms.

Life update 051717 **Trigger Warning**

So its been however long since i last posted mostly because i have no motivation. I went to visit my cancer ridden 6-9mos to live abusive mother for a month in march to help her move and sell the house that we both own that she could no longer afford so i could cut ties with her and gain some peace and closure and the money for school and rent. By help i mean, i found the real estate agent, i found the buyers, i cleaned the house, i helped mom sign the papers, i fed her and helped her to the bathroom and hospital and what did i get for my troubles?

NONSTOP 24 HOUR ABUSE

Nothing I did was good enough. I cleaned all 5 rooms full of trash that my mother had hoarded over the years and because i didnt have her look through every single thing i was just throwing things away. She though i threw away her bible so she threw a temper tantrum for days on end. she even threw her keys at me and hit me in the head but through all that i stayed. then when her friends came over to help three weeks into me helping her they got all the appreciation. She let her friends talk shit about me and call me the darkness and the devil because i wear black and i’m not religious. She probably had been lying about me for their entire friendship and i still stayed.

You would think that after all the stuff that she's put me through that she would appreciate me giving up basically pausing my life in order to help her. Instead I had the biggest panic attack I've had in a while. I was arrested and hospitalized again for having a ptsd fueled panic attack in public. Something that would have never happened if my mother had just driven me home instead of parking the car in the middle of the street as a show of control because apparently me having a panic attack was really me "bullying" her into taking me home.

She has never acknowledged my mental illness. Each time i was diagnosed she would switch doctors to someone who would tell her what she wanted to hear: "Theres nothing wrong with your child. She's just trying to get her way." No number of episodes or suicide attempts would change her mind because that’s the scenario that removes all guilt. She didn’t abuse me i abused her.

The worst of it is that now that my grandma has passed away there is no one to back me up, theres no one to tell her the truth of what she did. Now its just he said she said. All her friends know is what she told them which consists of her favourite excuse: “I wasnt the best mother but i tried my hardest.”

Personally i dont think its hard not to hit a child. i dont think its hard not to degrade them and erode their self esteem, i dont think its hard to not tell your child that they were a mistake and that they are a slut and worthless. I also dont think it’s hard not to blackmail the only parent they have into helping you cover up the abuse or pin the child down so they cant fight back. That isnt trying your hardest that is called being an abuser. That is child abuse.

Apparently the only way for her to take any responsibility is for me to actually take my life. And instead of this trip being a amicable separation between two adults, i just became her whipping boy again. Within a month of living with her again I started binge drinking and cutting and had panic attacks every day. two weeks before i left i drank too much and passed out and started convulsing and choking on my vomit. i was sent to the hospital for alcohol poisoning and hospitalized for a few days, then sent home to a mother who was furious that i had left her alone for the days i was in the hospital rather than the fact i could have died.the day after that i thought seriously about committing suicide but decided against it at the last moment.

This week culminated in me coming with my mother and her friend to pick up some medication at cvs, me asking whether or not she had signed the papers for the house sale and her raising her hand to hit me in the store. I, fed up by this point scream at her to hit me where everyone can see and her friend either blind to her actions or fine with them tells me to leave and that i cant get a ride back to the house basically stranding me at the cvs miles away from the house. I’m pissed and ask her why she’s doing this to me when i am clearly not the aggressor. I tell her that my mother has been abusing me for years and that this woman may have cancer but she had cancer almost the entire time she was abusing me. I blurt out that the night before i was going to kill myself because of the abuse and her friend told me that there is no way that she could abuse me because she is sick and that she was calling the police because i talked about suicide.

At that moment i was done i gave up. I had already been evaluated for the panic attack in the car incident and sent home because i didn't want to kill myself but this time i knew i wouldn't be as lucky so i had my friend Michael pick me up and i bought a ticket home for the next morning.

Since coming back i’ve felt much better. I finally have been socializing and have placed clear boundaries with my ex/roommate. I have also started dating some amazing people and am trying my best to get my life back together. Unfortunately i’m still having to suck up to my mother to get her to still help me financially which was all she was ever good for anyway. Each time i talk to her i have a panic attack and become self destructive. I cut myself again last week after a conversation with my mother in which she told me i didn't have her back HA! and that she was going to cancel the sale of the house and basically undo all of my hard work and have the house foreclosed on so i wouldn't get the money my grandmother left me leaving me penniless. And why? because fuck it. I was thankfully able to talk her out of canceling the deal and i even got the buyers to close escrow earlier and pay more.

At this point my life is just a roller coaster and i would kill for some easy coasting. The escrow should close on the 22nd but my mother still hasn't agreed to give me my half of the revenue from the house sale and if i dont get that money im fucked. I will be evicted and my and my roommate's credit will be ruined which my mother does not give a fuck about at all. If she was narcissistic before she is 100x more now that the doctors say she wont last long. I just have to sit here and wait to find out whether my life is ruined and if i pulled my roommate down with me.

TL;DR: My abusive terminally ill mother is a sack of shit and she still holds the key to my happiness and i hope she’ll give me the money my grandma left for me and die. If not i will be fucked and will most likely kill myself. YAY!!

Prompt: Talieh (My OC) and Cikatro Vizago run into Imperial trouble and are without a working hyperdrive. In the face of death what is left to do but confess ones feelings?

A/N: Have I mentioned how hopelessly in love Cikatro is with Talieh? Well it’s v much so expressed here. I shameless love these two with all my heart so excuse the cringe I actually started rambling at a lot of points but this was fun to write so I could care less

Setting: Somewhere in the Outer Rim, Lothal Sector, 6 BBY (Approximately 4 months before Rebels S1)

“Talieh, my sweet, if I didnt know any better...” Cikatro began with a big grin, his cheeks flushed slightly from the alcohol in his system. “I’d say you were drunk.”

His eyes were pinned on Talieh, who sat in the co-pilots chair. Per usual the Zygerrian woman leaned back comfortably in her seat, arms crossed against her chest while her boots were hiked up on the dash. The only thing out of the usual was this was the rare smile on her lips.

“Good thing you do know better, right Cikatro?” She quickly responded, followed by the traces of an amused giggle. She wasn’t drunk.. but she wasn’t quite sober either. What was she exactly?

Happy. She was simply happy.

Talieh felt her feline ears twitch slightly before falling into their relaxed default position. Never had she imagined herself being so comfortable with anyone. Yet here she was actually enjoying Cikatro’s company, more so than she’d dare to admit out loud.

“We should be arriving back to Lothal in two days time. Late afternoon I’d say.” He said, moving his eyes to meet Talieh’s.

For a moment the blonde Zygerrian looked back at him and felt her heart skip a beat. She blinked a few times before nonchalantly shifting her gaze to the view port.

“Good.” She sighed.

“Would be sooner, but I’m pretty sure we’re going to have to manually pilot through an asteroid belt.” He continued, his soft gaze lingering on her face.

“Sounds like fun.” She remarked, finding her smile growing wider for a reason she couldn't quite figure out. The fact that he was looking at her like that? Maybe.

“Yes.” He sighed contently and shifted his view to the stars. “Fun indeed.”

The past week had certainly been interesting. While Cikatro's ship, The Horn, was in the middle of some hefty remodeling, the crime boss got word of a huge shipment of Imperial weapons for sale on Plemarkens spot, a little space station at the edge of the Lothal Sector.

It ran rapid with pirates and smugglers alike. Vizago had a few contacts there. Contacts that were willing to hold those weapons for a few extra days for the right price. Despite his main freighter being out of commission, Vizago was a man of business, and getting these weapons would be great for business!

So as to not miss out on the Imperial shipment he purchased another smaller freighter; an investment, as he told Talieh. He shrugged it off to being a necessary business expensive, assuring himself that having a secondary smaller vessel was important for his rising smuggling operation. Albeit a fully functional YT-1696 light freighter, it was missing a lot of perks and functions that most folk would want in a ship.

A working hyperdrive being one of those missing perks..

If Plemarkens Spot was anywhere else in the galaxy this would be out of the question. However it wasn’t terribly far, round trip the exchange should take an estimated week tops. Or so that’s what he had told Talieh anyways.

Before leaving Lothal, Vizago had assured Talieh traveling without a working hyperdrive wouldn’t be an issue. This was partly due to the mans hope that flying in real speed would allow him to spend time with the Zygerrian and potentially fulfill his desire to earn her affections.. but it also had to do with the fact that he was absolutely cheap and refused to fork up money for a new hyperdrive until after he’d sold this new shipment of Imperial goods..

Whereas Talieh was somewhat irritated with the whole ordeal, she would agree to almost any job if the price was right. Besides, relaxing on the ship for a few days out in open space wasn’t too bad a way to spend her time. Especially since she was getting paid for every minute of it.

Things had gone very good through the entire trip. They arrived at Plemarkens spot a day ahead of schedule and gotten all of the goods loaded up on Vizago’s new freighter.

The two had honestly enjoyed each others company through it all. So much so, in fact, that upon finishing the transaction earlier than expected Cikatro had talked Talieh into stopping by the space ports cantina and enjoying a few drinks before they left. The Devaronian even purchased a few jugs of Corelian Whiskey for the trip back; deciding time might go by faster with a drink in his hand. And it had seemed to work thus far.

So far they had spent this day in the cockpit, flying in real time through space, each one with a drink in hand. High spirits, smiles, and even some flirting had taken place. This is exactly the atmosphere Cikatro had hoped for from this trip!

Everything was perfect! Perfect, that is, until an Imperial Star Destroyer appeared out of hyperspace not terribly far from their current position.

The flash of light from the hyper jump made both Talieh and Cikatro about fall from their chairs. Considering how their freighter was fairly small it was doubtful the Imperials had spotted them visually. But if they were scanning for ships they’d certainly be found.

“Why would the Empire be here, Cikatro?” Talieh asked, placing her glass of whiskey on the ground before looking back at the Star Destroyer.

He gave her a weird glance that expressed something along the lines of ‘How should I know? ' But Vizago instantly regretted this once he earned that angry growl from her.

It was easy for the man to forget that Talieh possessed little to no knowledge about the Empire. She’d always been very private about her past, never sharing too much information, which he respected. Everyone has a past, right?

She always explained her ignorance of anything Imperial off to the fact that she grew up ‘in a place where the Empire wasn’t around’. Cikatro assumed that meant Deep Deep Wild Space. But he really did not know. Now was certainly not the time to ask questions either.

“By the Moons of Gasgohl!” He adjusted the ships speed, directing full power to the thrusters. “I dont know, Talieh!” He blurted in frustration, his tone a little on the defensive side.

The sound of the ships engine speeding up calmed him slightly but he still felt the need to go on. “It could just be a coincidence... Imperials are not uncommon in this sector, you know. The Mining Guild is all the rage. First Lothal, kriff, t-they could be looking for moons to deplete of natural resources.” He paused. “It could be as simple as that.. or..”

Cikatro paused as he collected his thoughts. If he remembered correctly he had spotted a few civilian mining ships when they had first approached the large cluster. It wasn’t that uncommon for people to do unauthorized mining on asteroids in this sector; it was a good way to make a living if you knew what you were doing. With the increased Imperial presence on Lothal, Vizago wouldn’t be surprised if the Empire was trying to put a stop to it.

“Or what?!” She hissed, panic setting in.

“I dont know!” He reiterated, shooting her a stressed scowl. “Maybe they have every piece of merchandise in this ship suited up with trackers and this was a trick! Maybe they are just making a stop out here to monitor this asteroid belt for unauthorized mining.. I dont know, Talieh! It’s the Empire.. they do whatever they want even if it doesn’t make sense! But who cares about why, we need to get out of here!”

Talieh’s face easily expressed her irritation but she remained quiet. Her cat-like ears pointed down to further express her mood.

The Star Destroyer stayed in place, a good distance away from their transports current position. Considering that the Imperials hadn’t taken action against their little freighter it was likely they’d not yet been spotted. But that wouldn’t last, not like this. Without being able to jump into hyperspace they were sitting ducks.

“I dont think they’ve noticed us, yes?” Talieh grumbled in her accented basic. “Otherwise they’d have sent out a comm-message or ships to scan us?”

“It’s positive thinking.” Cikatro pursed his lips. “But I do think that’s probably the case.” He half chuckled, whether it was forced or not Talieh didn’t know. “Otherwise we’d be dead.”

Talieh nodded and stood up, her brows knitted as she stared out the view port. “Maybe if we pull off over there,” She gestured toward an especially large cluster of asteroids. “We power down everything on the ship.. They’ll think we are just floating junk.”

Though he didn’t say anything at first Talieh could feel the gears in his head turning into a confident direction.

“That could work.” He agreed, leaning forward to look at the power distribution on the ship. “Yes, this could work.” He repeated, trying to convince himself.

“It’s our best shot, Cikatro.” She headed out the cockpit. “I’m going to make sure all droids are shut down as well. Go ahead and pull over. I’ll be back.”

It took about eight tortuously long minutes to shut down all power to the ship. Fortunately in that time it appeared they still remained unnoticed by the Imperials. That was somewhat comforting..

Other than the starlight seeping in from the view port glass the ship was dark. Dark and quiet. Nothing but the sound of Talieh and Cikatro breathing and the occasional creak of metal of the ship. The silence was too intense for Cikatro so he decided to speak up.

“We are still alive. So it’s safe to say that the buckets did not come here because our haul was tracked.” His tone was that of relief, though there was still stress in his red eyes. “Probably just, uhh, an unfortunate coincidence.”

There was another long moment of tense silence where they just stared at the Imperial station. After a while the hatch opened a few small surveying ships started to go around and scan some asteroids. Granted those were all far away from their ship and seemed to be going in the opposite direction. However one of them did head towards one of the civilian miner operations.

A spark of hope emerged and the two glanced at one another. It seems all the Empire was doing was scanning the asteroids for valuable metals, at the very least perhaps intervening with the unauthorized miners. As long as they remained hidden they would make a clean get away!

“By the moons of Gosgolt, I think we will be fi-”

“Cikatro, no..” Talieh interrupted him, extending her arm to point back at the Star Destroyers ship port. “Look.”

A small ship exited the Star Destroyer and went in the direction of one of the civilian ships parked on a rather large asteroid. This new Imperial ship had a large blaster extended on the top of its point and seemed to be firing it up.

Within seconds the brilliant laser exited the canon and beamed out to the civilian ship. It erupted with light, blasting rubble in all different directions.

Talieh and Cikatro watched in horror at the slaughter. The Empire had just murdered those civilians without warning, by the looks of it no warning had been given to evacuate the premise. They just acted out of hate. Without justice..

The survey ship started to gather pieces of the asteroid that subsequently exploded with the initial blast to the miners. Meanwhile the canon ship went into another direction, only to continue blasting other asteroids. Fortunately no additional civilian mining operations were taking place but the sounds of the blasts caused tension in their own ship.

Talieh and Cikatro glanced at one another again, neither one too sure what the make of their current predicament. The Imperials were obviously here scouting the area for minerals but there were well armed and ready for a fight. For the time being they were safe enough, but if they came over in the direction of their ship.. that would change very fast.

Their ship which was filled to the brim with illegally obtained Imperial weapons. If they murdered civilian miners without bating an eye, what would they do to known smugglers?

Talieh and Cikatro watched for a long time, both too anxious to really say anything. After a while the ships only seemed to come closer and closer to their own ship.

“What do you think they’d do if they found us?” Talieh asked in a quiet voice, her pink irises glazing over as she looked out the window. Though the sheer gravity of the situation had sobered her up significantly, the Zygerrian woman's body could still feel the effects of the alcohol. She sat back, laying her arms on the rest of her chair.

“Kill us.” Cikatro said gruffly and without hesitation, turning his head to look at Talieh.

When their eyes met she didn't pull away but instead stared him right back in the face. A wave of warmth overcame her as she rested her gaze on his crimson eyes. She was silent but her feline ears twitched slightly, involuntarily expressing that she was deep in thought.

“But they wont.” The Devaronian finally added, reaching over to place a thoughtful hand on her wrist. Cikatro expected her to bat him away with a threatening response, as she usually did to his romantic gestures, but she surprisingly did not. “We are going to get back home and become rich off of this shipment. Talieh, my sweet-” The strain in his voice was fairly evident but he still charaded a smile. “You have nothing to worry about.”

Talieh’s gaze fell to his large hand and she considered him, taking her time with figuring out exactly what to say.

“Your words are warm and assuring..” She then placed her own hand over his, her small fingers barely even managing to cover his knuckles. “This is sweet. You are very sweet to me. But you do lie.. you do not know this is truth. Yet you sit here, lying to my face... but, you only lie for my benefit.”

Talieh used her fingers to affectionately trace small circles on the skin of his hand. “It’s not unappreciated. Far from it. I take note of all these things you do for me, Cikatro.”

Shocked at her actions Vizago just watched her. She spoke so softly and seemed vulnerable. He had never seen her like this.

She continued. “I really do not understand the this new world. The Empire. They do not seem to have an moral way of doing things.”

“And we do?” The Devaronian interjected. He forced a pitiful snicker, trying to be somewhat humorous to help ease this tense situation.

“Yes.. I do.” She whispered, gripping onto Cikatro’s hand in a way that actually made him worry. “The Republic was never perfect but it was better than this world you live in. There was a system of checks and balances.. Here there’s no order. It’s all random and dark! The Galaxy is out of Balance. The Jedi were the morale back bone of our society and now they are g-gone." Silence followed for a moment before she let out a shaky breath. "And what’s left? Stormtroopers hardly mature enough to handle their own blasters! Purchased officials and an Emperor with no light inside his heart!”

Vizago arched a brow as he listened to her. He really had no idea what she was going on about. The Republic? The Jedi? She sounded so scared and so desperate. It seemed more than their current situation that caused her panic.

Talieh looked back up at Cikatro and calmed down a bit, realizing she was actually beginning to shake with anger. It was not so much that she was afraid of the situation at hand. Talieh had never been afraid of dying. However, she was absolutely terrified of this unfamiliar world and this unkind Empire. What it had done to the world she had once known...

Even now the Zygerrian Jedi had no idea what exactly had happened to The Republic or The Jedi Order. What had happened while she was trapped in Carbonite all those years was beyond her knowledge. She had just recently started to come to terms with the fact that she would possibly never know.

Talieh told herself she didn't need to know those things. It was the past and she was still living. She needed to move on, right?

“Talieh?” Cikatro spoke up, giving her hand a squeeze. “You are shaking, please talk to me, my sweet..” His warm voice was soft and assuring. Despite his charade of calm Talieh could sense the fear within him. How he, too, was unsure on what would happen to either of them..

She heard him speak but could not seem to find her own voice. Instead her expression fell to a solemn one as she thought of Vizago, and what he meant to her. Cikatro had a life to get back to. His sweet little mother back on Lothal. His other employees.. They relied on him. All though he was not good in the way the Jedi had taught her to see, she sensed the good in him.

Talieh took in a shaky breath, suddenly overcome with emotion. Anger and nostalgia. Longing and contentment. But most of all she felt sure of herself and what she needed to do. She may not have known what happened to the Jedi but she knew about her life right here, and right now.

Her life on Lothal. Her life with Cikatro Vizago. He’d given her a job and invited her into his life without hesitation. And though she had always rejected his advances she was fully aware that all she need do was say the word.. and this man would be hers. Until this moment, she had never really considered saying yes because that was simply not the Jedi way.

But where were the Jedi now? Gone.

Here and now, the only thing she knew was she needed to keep him safe at all costs.

“I’m sorry, Cikatro..” She whispered. With a final tender squeeze the woman then pulled both of her hands away from his grasp.

“N-No, Talieh, my sweet.. You have nothing to apologize for!” He forced a toothy smile. His long devilish ears drooped slightly, expressing his concern. “I just want to understand..”

He really did. She knew that. But that didn't matter now. Not when his life was in danger.

“You do not need to understand.” She then stood up and reached forward to the ships dash. Talieh flipped the switch for partial power in the left port of the ship, where the escape pods were. “Just let me do this.”

Utterly baffled the Devaronian stood up and immediately pulled the power switch back down, reversing what it was Talieh was trying to do.

“Are you crazy?!” He hollered with panic, turning to face her. His brows knitted in a stern yet concerned way. “Do you want them to catch us?"

“No, just me.” She hissed back, glaring up at the taller man. “I just need you to keep the power on long enough for me start up the escape pod. If I can pull their attention on the other side of the asteroid field you can make an escape!” By the end of that statement Talieh had tears swelling in the back of her eyes. Tears that had been welling for years but had never fallen. “Once you're past this asteroid belt, they cannot chase after you!” Her heart was beating faster than it ever had.

“You...? Wait, Talieh, no!” Cikatro’s eyes widened as he processed exactly what she had just intended. “That’s.. just out of the question..” He crinkled his nose and shook his head slightly, overcoming his confusion and joy all at once. He was truly touched at the gesture but what Talieh wanted to do was impossible. There was no way he would let her do something like this.

“As you know I am perfectly capable of handling myself.” She spat, taking a step closer to him. “But the fact is, this situation is not looking too good for either of us, Cikatro. I can not just idly sit by and wait to be murdered." The tears hot salty finally rolled down her cheeks. "I cannot wait for you to be murdered.”

Talieh tried stepped past him, reaching for the switch only to have Cikatro grab her wrist tightly and yank her in front of him. He wasn't sure how he was supposed to react to this! On one hand the woman he loved more or less just admitted her love for him through her actions, but on the other he was fairly certain she wanted to go out and get herself killed.

“So what? You plan to just take the tiny little escape pod over and take out an Imperial Star Destroyer?!” He forced out the most mocking laughter he could, thinking maybe embarrassment would calm her down from this half baked question of heroism. “Talieh, my love, it has no weapons! No shields! You will die before you even get within a blasters shot away from it! And what, you’re doing this for me? Why would you do something that rash for a man you do not love?”

The sounds of asteroids being pulverized fairly closely caught them both off guard. The surveying squad was getting closer. Though both Talieh and Cikatro were alarmed by the approaching sounds, they stayed right where they were, glaring the other in the eye.

“I will do what I must t-to get you home... because you have a life, C-Cikatro!” She bellowed, all the pent up emotion of the past year suddenly and uncontrollably flooding through. “However it is you think I see you must be wrong because I see you.. I see the real you. The man who takes care of his mother! The man who-”

“-This is ridiculous, Talieh!” Vizago cut her off, his tone loud and commanding. “I will lock you in the brig if I need to. This is not negotiable!”

“You know that wont hold me.” She tried to wiggle her arm from his hand, but failed. Rolling his eyes Cikatro grabbed her free wrist with his other hand, holding her in place before him.

“Then, as much as it breaks my heart, I’ll have to use my stun gun.”

“You’d never use that on me.” She huffed, finally gaining control of her tears. She took in a deep breath and looked up at him, still maintaining the look of determination but when in actuality she felt small and powerless. For the first time in her entire life, emotions had gotten the better of her.

“You’re right.” He grumbled. Keeping the Zygerrian woman in place he stared at her helplessly. “So, this will have to do..”

Cikatro released both of Talieh’s wrist before taking a firm hold of her shoulders. The Devaronian took a leap of courage and ferociously pressed his lips against hers, hoping she wouldn't resist and would simply be carried away in the moment.

And she was.

Talieh was swept over by a sensation she was not familiar with. At first she just stayed still with shock and processed the gravity of the kiss. Her body felt cold and warm at the same time; but it was good. No, it was amazing. His lips were softer than she would have guessed..

After relaxing from what almost felt like an out of body experience Talieh closed her eyes and gave into her her feelings. Closing her wet eyes the Zygerrian leaned in, returning Cikatro's kiss with matching intensity.

Letting out a sharp breath from his nose, Vizago let his rough hands fall from her shoulders and down her arms. He took his time in letting the palm of his hands feel her fur and skin. Upon reaching her wrists he guided them to his head, and she wrapped them around his neck snuggly.

Talieh let out a soft purr as she let her hands caress the back of his head and the indentions of his horns.

Smirking into the kiss, Cikatro slipped his arms around the woman's waist. Reeling at touching of the indention of her hips with his own hands, he decided to be even bolder than he had already been.

He shoved his thick tongue into her mouth, rubbing against hers to create a friction he'd longed craved. Then he slammed her onto the dash, lifting her ass up to sit on the powered down buttons so that her legs were on either side of him. He leaned in close so their chests were touching and continued to kiss her.

Startled but willing, Talieh moaned loudly into his mouth. She let one of her arms trail down his shoulder to rub his muscular forearm. She'd long admired his muscles and being able feel them so intimately made her stomach feel tight and euphoric. Instinctively she wrapped her legs around his hips.

"Talieh.." He whispered in a husky tone, drawing his lips to her jawline to playfully nip. He bucked his hips into hers, his member hard against her stomach. He smirked at the sound of her desperate moans. Pressing his lips against the corner of her feline ears he continued. "I've dreamed of this for so long.."

The Zygerrian woman's face was flush with stimulation, her innocent body and mind feeling joyously overwhelmed with each new sensation. Her eyes fluttered open as Cikatro pressed his forehead to hers, a moment of genuine affection to gage her comfort level.

"Holding you in my arms.."

Talieh lifted her hand from his arm, to cup his cheek. She smiled softly but remained silent.

"Your legs wrapped around me.." He added, a dirty chuckle following his proclamation.

She averted his eyes, overcome with embarrassment, but her smile widened. She felt the same however lacked the bold confidence that Vizago had in abundant supply.

"I've held you in the most intimate place of my heart for a long time, Cikatro..." She whispered, daring to lock eyes with him.

With a dirty grin, the Devaronian pressed his lips back to hers.

For the next several moments the pair snogged deeply and let their desperate hands explore the others clothed body. That was until a sound could be heard.

Talieh's feline ears twitched and she felt her lust disconnect as her mind went into alert. She wiggled beneath him and tore away from the kiss.

"C-Cikatro, stop!" She cried, trying to get him off of her so she could look out of the viewport behind her.

"D-Did I go too far?" He inquired smugly, pulling away with a slanted grin. "It's hard to when I want to explore every bit of your bod-"

"Sshhhh.." She snapped, pressing her pointer finger over his lips to hush him up. Cikatro, albeit disappointed, stepped back and helped her off of the dash as she wished .

The pair then both gazed out the viewport to find that both survey and attack ships had returned to the Starcruiser.

"Talieh, I think they are leaving!" Cikatro exclaimed.

Blinking in disbelief, Talieh let a smile creep up on her swollen lips. He was right! With a flash of light the Imperial occupation of the sector was clear. After a moment of silently staring into empty space, the couple slowly looked at each other with big smiles, satisfied that they would indeed live to see another day.

Then, they both jumped into the tightest embrace as their lips met once more.

Talieh was the one to pull away first, bringing a hand to the back of his head to rub affectionately.

"We need to power up and maneuver our way out of here through that field, Cikatro. We can't possibly know if they will come back."

"That is the responsible thing to do." He agreed, however there was a hint of irritation there. As if he would rather be doing something else.

"It is." She stepped away and began to power up the ship. Business as usual. "Please get us back to Lothal in one piece. It seems... we have many things to discuss." The flush in her face turned brighter as she evaded eye contact.

"Yes, we do, my sweet." He plopped into the Captains chair and gestured for her to take her seat at his side. "So strap in."

Where i live the nearest shop is 30 mins away walking. My family need someone to do the shopping as we cannot keep going back and forth everyday. We basically starve some days as sufficient food is too heavy to carry. My father is very sick and has been for 2 years. Because the hospital is so far away he barely is able to go to his appointments. And finally i use the train to get to my university which im fine with but i get bullied everyday physically on the train. I am too scared to report this to anyone. Insurance agent won't write the homeowner's coverage she wants?

My fiance owns an old home in northern Ohio and was paying over $1,300 a year for homeowner's insurance until last year. She can't afford over $100 a month in premiums so I looked into trying to get a lower rate. All three agents that I contacted about the matter assumed a replacement cost for her house of around $157,000 which resulted in premiums of exactly what she had last year. The very idea of insuring her house for $157,000 is absurd for two reasons. The first is that I personally built a house in an upscale neighborhood which was almost three times as large and also had an attached garage. I sold that home for around $150,000 and made about $40,000 profit. The second reason that $157,000 is absurd is that any day of the week you can buy a much better house in the neighborhood for less than $60,000. I was able to find a lower rate of around $600 a year through the Ohio Fair Plan website by assuming a realistic replacement cost of $60,000 and not including such things as jewelry coverage (she has no valuable jewelry), and other coverages that don't make sense. Unfortunately, and after contacting several insurance agencies, not a one will write the coverage as specified. The gave me the flimsiest of excuses. It appears to me as if all the insurance companies doing business in our area may have colluded to lock in homeowner insurance rates far higher than is justified. The police officer was practically hiding in a dark, empty parking lot and came out of no where. I really don't want to make excuses for myself. I know what I did was wrong and I'll admit it. Farmers Insurance problem when changed from CA to OR?

Hi, I've had insurance in CA for 2 years and moved to Oregon recently. I had my insurance tranferred with an useless Farmers Agent in OR. The thing is I already paid my 6 months premium in CA which is covered me until 06/2009. I paid nearly $450 for until 06/29. I've had quite a few discounts in CA but the jug-head agent in Oregon, not shifted any discounts to Oregon automatically. I got a bill for next 6 months from that agent saying that I have to pay $1000, since I haven't lived in Oregon for long enough. Jeez!!!. It's almost a $600 rise in my insurance that too I haven't had any claims or ticket in my last 5 years. I went to meet him in person but he told that's all he can do it. He didn't look my CA policy/discounts too. Then I told him, I can get $500 insurance anywhere else. But he challenges me if I could get something like that. I haven't approached any other insurers yet. Is it anything like insurance history or something like that maintained nationwide or in Oregon? Does he threaten me based on somre record?
