Queerastronauts is my side but I'm putting this on my main

These are the notes on this post slightly less than a day after posting it.

This is really frustrating. Like genuinely so so so frustrating. If even half the people who had liked this post had reblogged it there would now be twice as many notes etc etc. I don't understand how this happened. What happened to Tumblr being... Tumblr?

I'm not even saying this post is like, a post for the ages. This is not going to be a Tumblr heritage post and I never thought it would. But it got those five reblogs immediately - because I sent it to a friend, who reblogged it, and then four people reblogged it from said friend! That's how the website works! And then not one person reblogged it from the second circle of reblogs.

My main grew its following from lots of small posts that got bigger and bigger because it was 2017 and people still reblogged things. My side has had a lot of small posts that stopped at fifty notes, but the book rec post for pride I made in 2017 or 2018 has several hundred notes - I think a little over a thousand? I'm not going to check - because it got reblogged by people. Queerastronauts is still a small blog with only a couple hundred followers. That post didn't get reblogged exclusively by the blog's followers. It spread the way posts on Tumblr are supposed to spread - one person at a time.

If you liked the post, why aren't you sharing it?

Hell, this is a recurring problem on this blog, where I have circa 3200 followers, well over ten times the amount of followers I have on queerastronauts. I often struggle to break 100 notes on a post I make now. The ones that do break that limit are ones that got reblogged! They don't have a 1:5 reblog to likes ratio!

I actively struggle to understand this, because I reblog so much that I had to start using a queue because otherwise I was hitting post limit almost daily. My queue still has to spit out 100 posts per day for me to not hit queue limit. Did y'all know that was a thing? I found out because I was reblogging so much that I hit it! It's 1000 posts! And then in a frantic attempt to empty my queue so I could keep using the site, I hit post limit again.

Maybe I'm just old school, idk. Maybe I'm reblogging too much? Whatever that means? I mean to me, I feel like I'm actively much pickier about reblogging stuff than I was in say 2015, 2016, cause nowadays I only queue about 50-150 posts per day depending on if I'm busy or not, so I wouldn't actually hit post limit most daysq if I wasn't using the queue. But I still believe in that basic tenet of if you like something on tumblr.com, what you should do is reblog it, because then other people can see it and also like it! I know, this is a revolutionary concept to some of you, but considering polls on this site consistently show that everyone has been here for a decade, WHAT HAPPENED??? Y'all used to know this stuff!

This is why artists are so depressed when they look at their notes. Like, I put zero effort into this post. This is a genuine conversation I had with my boyfriend that I screenshotted half an hour later cause I was still laughing about it. So if this crashed, meh. But I've received asks I spent hours answering to make sure I researched properly and got all the name and dates and facts correct that then died at 30 notes. The person who SENT the ask them often doesn't interact with the post at all. I don't mean just a like and no reblog or reply - I mean radio silence. So someone who's spent days, maybe weeks on a piece of art, something they may have poured their heart and soul into, and y'all refuse to even interact?

I just don't get it. It's just... Pure confusion mixed with a little bit of despair. This website will go down one of two ways: it stops working, or we stop interacting. And I really feel like many of us are already working on that second one.

And the wild thing is posts about reblogging do get popular and do get thousands of notes, so people clearly agree with this sentiment, they're just... Not putting it into practice.

Again. I'm just baffled.

I got the new Mario Party and Aries and I have played about 10 times so far. I haven't won once?? I'm not a particularly outstanding player, but we usually have a 1-1 ratio on wins (well, I'm a slightly worse player, so maybe it's a 1-1.5 ratio lmao). I have every Mario Party that's been released on Switch and play the old ones on N64, so it's a pretty reliable statistic.

But in Jamboree, each time I convince myself "this is it! I won (for once!)", something fucks me over. When I finally get stars someone lands on a fucking chancetime or someone gets an ally and gets four stars in two turns or some bullshit. (ARIES GOT THREE STARS IN ONE TURN. ONE.TURN.) And I lose to the computers all the time!!!!!

Anyway, it's game 10. I'm feeling good. I'm drinking mulled wine. I have two stars. And I think I might finally, FINALLY secure first place because I have an ally and Boo was coming up and I had 150 coins. But you know what, fuck me actually!!!! I land on a Bowser space, get a Bowser Revolution, lose an additional 20 coins through my ally, and then one of the computers HITS ME WITH A FUCKING CAR. So I was hit to the other side of the board, blowing right past Boo.

I was LIVID. I was seeing RED. I was going to KILL.

Aries looks me directly in the eyes, smiles, and says "No Boo for you".

I was going to call the wedding off. But I jumped across the coffee table to pummel him instead.

Hey, here's a little one pot rice cooker recipe that is really tasty and makes for an easy meal.

I'll show you the version I make first, then put explanations and variations under the cut.

Serves 1-2, depending on portion size

Ingredients:

-1/2 Cup Jasmine Rice -About 1 cup vegetable stock (I used homemade) -Approx 1 tablespoon soy sauce -Approx 2 teaspoons mirin seasoning -1 diced carrot (about a 1/2 cup) -Diced celery (about a 1/2 cup) -Frozen Peas (about a 1/2 cup) -Frozen Corn (about a 1/2 cup) -Diced bacon (add to hearts desire) -Shredded dried seaweed (add to hearts desire, mind amount based on how salty the stock, bacon, and soy sauce are) -Minced garlic (use to hearts desire, I used jarred)

Method:

Put 1/2 cup rice in rice cooker, rinse or not idc

Add in rest of ingredients. I like to add the liquids first then the dry ingredients

Cook in rice cooker with lid on (except for stirring occasionally to prevent sticking/burning) until rice has absorbed the stock, the carrots are soft, and the bacon is hot.

Explanations/FAQ/Variations I guess?

Q. Why use so much stock? A. The general ratio of cooking jasmine rice with water is 1:1.5. Meaning 1 cup of rice cooks with 1.5 cups of water. Ergo, half a cup rice needs 3/4 of a cup of water. The additional quarter cup of water is used to cook the rest of the ingredients. If I was using fresh peas/corn, I would probably add a bit more water.

Q. What can I use instead of these vegetables? A. Literally add whatever vegetables you want. You'll just have to adjust water content depending on what they are/how many vegetables you add. I recommend frozen veg, as non-frozen veg requires cutting up into small pieces so they cook through properly. But most frozen veg is pre-cut/already the right size.

This recipe uses about 2 cups of vegetables in it. That's about 4 serves of vegetables. So like, generally 2 cups veg total should be good. I dunno.

As for recommended vegetables? I dunno, I like broccoli so I'm planning on making it with broccoli in the future. Maybe cut up tomato?

Q. Its too salty? Why!? A. I used fresh stock, which has less salt in it than stock powders and bottles of stock. Either water your stock down, use less powder, or adjust your salty ingredients (such as soy sauce, seaweed, and bacon)

Q. What other meats/proteins can I use? A. I would recommend pre-cooked meat, as I don't believe the time in the cooker is long enough to cook through most meat unless cut very small. So I recommend meats such as ham, salami, bacon (although err on the side of caution with bacon!), pre-cooked chicken, etc.

If using pre-cooked meats (instead of cured), maybe add them in near the end so they don't dry out as much. Idk though, experiment with it!

Also, tofu would be tasty in it. Using firm: cut into cubes. Using silken, maybe stir in near the end.

Q. Do I have to use vegetable stock? A. No, you don't. Use whatever stock you want, just know different stocks will have different levels of salt, so you might have to adjust the recipe based on that.

Q. Do I have to use soy sauce + mirin? A. I mean, no. But I would recommend seasoning it in some other way, otherwise it'll probably be boring. At that point it won't be this recipe any more though.

Q. Do I have to use jasmine rice? A. No, could use any other rice. Again, will have to adjust water content depending on the type though. If you used basmati you could probably get away with using the same amount of water.

Q. Why share this recipe? A. It's the only hot meal I've had the energy to make the past 2 days. It has a good flavour, good amount of protein, carbs, nutrients, and veg. So like. It works. And it's quick + low on washing up (especially if you don't have to cut anything)

Did you expect that that would be so many kings compared to the other two types?

I had no idea the quiz would give King as a result so often upon initially making it, but in hindsight it makes some sense to me.

When I first made the quiz in nebulous 2020 summer months it seemed perfectly logical that people would mostly be aligned with an archetype that is stuck in a difficult situation with no other choice but deal with it, but back then the S/P/K ratio was about 1/3/6. As I'm typing this it's closer to 1.5/1.5/7 since, out of 3.7 million takers (that's an insane number, by the way. I can't believe it's real) there are 2.4 million Kings, and Poets and Soldiers are both in the 600k range.

I think my initial reasoning still works, to be honest! Kings have a broader relatability to them if you consider that the people taking the quiz are mostly teenagers and young adults becoming actors in an increasingly complex world. I know a lot of people expect Poet because it's nice and creative but the archetype actually has little to do with creativity (I PROMISE I'LL POST MY THINKING FOR POET BTW it just takes me a while to put together haha), so King being the absolute dominating archetype isn't that surprising all things considered. Also, when this was just a quiz for my friends, I would go back to see each of their individual answer and make a more personal interpretation based on that, and it gave a LOT of nuance to Kings which came out more often but with different sets of answers.

Jam (40 min)

I have to admit, I grew up a spoiled child. With a grandmother single-handedly supplying the entire town with jam, I never had to resort to the store-bought kind until long after she passed and all her stock was used up. Fortunately, she taught me well. And what better time to put the skill to use than in summer with a plethora of in season fruits at your disposal? The results of a few minutes suffering the heat of stirring in a bubbling pot are well worth the effort in my opinion. 

Equipment:

A large pot (and I really mean large, you don’t want this to be more than half full)

Clean jars and fitting lids

A timer 

A small plate / bowl that easily has space in your fridge

Funnel (optional)

Oven mitts or a dry kitchen towel

Damp cleaning cloth (or something of the sort)

Ingredients:

These are highly customisable. Depending on the type of sugar you're using, you’ll need up to 1.5 kg of fruit / 1.5 L of fruit juice per 500g packet of gelling sugar (essentially just regular sugar with pectin mixed in). The main difference regarding the sugar is its intended ratio to the fruit. The most common ones I’ve seen are 1:1, 1:2 or 1:3 (sugar:fruit). Other than the jam’s sweetness (obviously) the kind you use will influence how shelf-stable it is. The higher the sugar content, the longer you can store it. That being said, I normally use the 1:2 and I’ve never once ran into the issue of the jam going bad before it was all devoured. (That being well over a year when making a large batch. Some of my grandma’s have been forgotten in the cellar for almost 10 and they still were fine. Just trust your eyes and nose when opening up a jar. And label them with the date made.)

It’s perfectly fine to use frozen fruit. Just let it thaw before you get started. 

I recommend adding some lemon juice (about 1 lemon per kg). It helps with thickening the jam and is especially important when you’re using very sweet fruit. The gelling sugar usually has some citric acid added, but I find that adding the fresh lemon helps. Also it offsets the sweetness a bit.

Other than that, go wild! You can add spices, herbs, liquor (you might want to add that after cooking though)... Just make sure you keep the ratio specified on the sugar and you’ll be just fine!

Instructions: 

If you’re using fresh fruit, wash it well, pat dry and cut into small pieces. If you prefer a smooth jam, you can blend it. 

Add all ingredients to a large pot and mix well. Make sure it’s only about half full max. 

Now, most gelling sugar package instructions will tell you to let everything sit for at least a few hours, but honestly, I find that it doesn’t really make a difference to skip this step if you’re in a hurry. It won’t hurt to wait, but it won’t ruin your jam if you don’t.

Before you start cooking, you’ll need to sterilise the jars. (And don’t forget the lids either!) There’s many ways of doing this and a quick online search will give you many results, like putting them through a hot cycle in the dishwasher. Because I don’t have one, my go to method is to first give them a good scrub and then rinse them with boiling water from the kettle, leaving them upside down on a clean kitchen towel until filling. Getting them up to temperature now will also prevent any glass cracking when filling with the hot jam.

While stirring, bring the jam to a boil. The bubbling kind, you really want this going. Once it does start your timer. In most cases it will be 4 minutes, but check the package instructions for specifics. Make sure to keep stirring, you don’t want anything getting stuck to the bottom of the pot.

The jam might produce foam (hence the big pot). If you want to, you can remove it with a spoon, but that’s mainly an aesthetic thing. (Theoretically, the trapped air could contaminate the jam and make it go off faster, but I have yet to witness that happening.)

Once time’s up, reduce the heat to low and spoon out a little bit of the jam onto a plate and put it in the fridge. This is to check if the gelling worked. The jam should start to thicken quickly when cooling. If it’s still too runny, boil it a little longer. If it’s too thick, add a little water. 

When you’re happy with the consistency, remove the pot from the heat and start filling the jars. I do this holding the jar in one hand with an oven mitt (because this will get uncomfortably hot very quickly) ladling the jam in with the other. If the opening of the jar is very small, a funnel can be helpful (make sure that is also sterilised!). Fill it up until just about the brim. Now, if there’s any spills, wipe the screw-top clean. You’ll thank yourself later when you try opening it again. Tightly close the jar and place it upside down.

Repeat until you’re out of jam. I always have an odd amount left that isn’t quite enough for a whole jar. That’s fine though. Simply eat that first.

Allow the jam to cool for about 5 minutes before flipping the jars.

While the sugar content certainly plays a role in preserving, the most important thing is that all your utensils are clean. It’s a bit of work, yes, but ending up with mouldy jam would be worse, right?

Dionysus, 1.5 billion years after formation, 80 degrees north[1]. A radiokont fights off a roving Nannopraetorion in the foreground, while a much larger placotestan floats by behind it, unbothered by the attention of the roaming single celled predator.

To the casual observer, there has been no greater milestone in the history of life on Earth than the dawn of multicellular life. While the vast majority of Earth genetic diversity lies in its unicellular inhabitants, as well as the greater portion of its biomass, it’s the three clades of life to have achieved multicellular, macroscale sizes that dominate surface ecosystems. 1.5 billion years after formation, life on Dionysus achieves this milestone.

For many millions of years beforehand, the ecosystem of Dionysus was stuck in a series of wild swings. The first predatory genus, Nannopraetorion, developed out of a group of scavengers adapted to consume portions of dead cells, and rapidly ravaged the young, naive ecosystem, reducing the populations of passive chemosynthetic organisms that were relying on the constant rain of complex organics from the upper atmosphere. This was not a very potent source of energy, and so the local producers were simply wiped out by the predators, unable to reproduce quickly enough in the face of a supercharged, heterotrophic lifeform. These cycles of boom and bust continued for millions of years.

Recently, however, a new form of producer has evolved. Developing from a antecessor that lived in the very uppermost layers of the global ocean, for which they developed anthocyanin-like blue pigments for protection against UV rays, this group started to use these pigments to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. Initially this hydrogen was used to break down long chain and resistant organic compounds in a vastly more efficient manner, but it didn’t take long before a group of these started using the hydrogen to create simple sugars, though unlike sugars on Earth, these were based on 5 carbon furan rings. Now able to access a much more potent source of energy, these organisms were able to compete with Nannopraetorion. 

For a time, anyway. Even though the ecosystems had stabilized, the mortality rate on these early photosynthesizers was very high, creating a strong evolutionary pressure to develop further defenses against their predators. At the same time, rising oxygen levels provided both an additional threat, and an opportunity. 

Oxygen is a toxin to all life, even modern organisms on Earth. It is highly reactive and liable to break apart many chemical bonds, but that also makes it an extremely potent source of energy for those that can harness it. By a freak mutation, some of the early photosynthesizer cells didn’t fully separate when they split, but this helped both cells by reducing their surface area to volume ratio, bringing down the concentration of oxygen in the cells.

This initial, monumental achievement was rapidly developed, and within a million years a new clade had formed, the Protokonta. Protokonts are defined by having distinct “mother cells”, individual cells that are the only ones allowed to divide to grow the colony, which use chemical signals to inhibit division in other cells. At the opposite end of the group of cells, once sufficient size is achieved, a new mother cell develops, an event which triggers division of the entire colony.

The protokontan body plan was wildly successful, and so the clade would almost immediately split into two subgroups, the Radiokonts and the Placotestans. Placotestans have already radically altered themselves externally, growing two shells of xylan, a polymer made up of 5 carbon sugars. These tests are secreted in a ring around the middle of the colony by specialist cells, and once the colony reaches a set size, each cell detaches from the rest, ready to creat a new colony. 

Radiokonta is the more conservative group externally, as the only visible innovation is a series of radial spines that gives the group its name, but this hides the fact that radiokonts have developed significantly more extensive cell-to-cell communication methods, allowing them to link of the contractile elements of their cytoskeletons to coordinate their movements. This allows radiokonts to warp the shape of the colony in the face of danger, bringing their spines together to form an impenetrable defense. Their spines are derived from the same biopolymers as the placotestans, but each cell other than the mother cells excretes a spine upwards.

The Protokonts are still in the middle of their diversification at this point in the history of Dionysus, and indeed in very recent times a new clade of Radiokonta has emerged which is starting to lose its only newly acquired photosynthetic abilities, in favour of more predatory methods…

Ten Things You Didn't Know About Intimate Partner Violence • 24% of all intimate relationships experience some degree of violence.[1] • 50% of all intimate partner violence is reciprocated, meaning both partners abuse each other.[1] • More than 70% of all intimate partner violence is perpetrated by women.[1] • Even in reciprocated domestic violence cases, women initiate violence more often, and many women who seek help for domestic violence are abusers themselves.[1,2] • 36.4% of women and 33.6% of men experience some form of intimate partner violence in their lives, meaning men and women are about equally likely to be victims.[3] • Lesbians experience more intimate partner violence than any other demographic, with the exception of bisexual women, and gay men experience the least.[4] • Male victims of intimate partner violence often stay with their abusers for fear of losing custody of their children to a violent person.[5] • Male victims of domestic violence are unlikely to report it for fear of being disbelieved, ridiculed, told they deserved it, or being accused of perpetrating domestic violence themselves, and their experiences with police and DV services support this assumption.[6] • There are very limited resources available for male victims of domestic violence compared to what's available for women, and many shelters don't help male victims.[6,7] • Female aggressors are substantially less likely to be arrested than male aggressors, especially when their victim is male, and when they do get arrested, their male victim is often arrested with them.[8]

Men Who Seek Help for IPV Victimization Despite over 30 years of research documenting that men can sustain female-perpetrated physical, sexual, and psychological IPV, these findings remain controversial. Those that are especially controversial are statistics showing that women report using physical IPV at equal or higher rates than men, a finding that has been replicated in dozens of studies (Archer 2000). This finding of a high rate of violence by female partners has been challenged primarily on conceptual bases because it is inconsistent with the dominant theoretical perspective of the cause of IPV: the patriarchal construction of our nation (Ferraro and Johnson 1983; Marshall 1992; Miller and White 2003). This controversy may help explain why men may face difficulties when seeking help for IPV victimization. The literature on male helpseeking, in general, indicates that men are less likely than women to seek help and that men who do seek help must overcome internal and external obstacles to do so (Galdas et al. 2005). Men are not likely to seek help for problems that their larger community deems non-normative or determines that they should be able to solve or control themselves (Addis & Mahalik, 2003). When seeking help for any type of IPV victimization, one can imagine that the obstacles must be great, given our gendered notions of male and female roles in heterosexual relationships (Lye and Biblarz 1993; Sweeney 2007) and the framing of IPV as a women’s issue (Arndt 1982; Walker and Browne 1985). Qualitative research has documented the experiences of men who seek help for female-to-male IPV (Cook 2009; Hines et al. 2007). For example, Cook (2009) performed in depth interviews of 30 men who sustained all types of IPV from their female partners and tried to seek help. This work shows that men often experience barriers when seeking help. When calling domestic violence hotlines, for instance, men who sustained all types of IPV report that the hotline workers say that they only help women, infer or explicitly state that the men must be the actual instigators of the violence, or ridicule them. Male helpseekers also report that hotlines will sometimes refer them to batterers’ programs. Some men have reported that when they call the police during an incident in which their female partners are violent, the police sometimes fail to respond. Other men reported being ridiculed by the police or being incorrectly arrested as the primary aggressor. Within the judicial system, some men who sustained IPV reported experiencing gender-stereotyped treatment. Even with apparent corroborating evidence that their female partners were violent and that the helpseekers were not, they reportedly lost custody of their children, were blocked from seeing their children, and were falsely accused by their partners of IPV and abusing their children. According to some, the burden of proof for male IPV victims may be especially high (Cook 2009).

Abused Men: The Hidden Side of Domestic Violence documents the experiences of dozens of men who suffered repeated partner assaults, only to encounter disbelief, hostility, and outright rejection when they sought help. One director of a Washington shelter admitted, “Whenever I speak of male abuse, I am met with disbelief and, even worse, laughter… I notice in talking with other shelter staff throughout the state that this attitude prevails in the other shelters, too.”

One woman from Washington State recounts the experience of an abused male friend. The man “called the state’s Domestic Violence Hotline, the one MY tax dollars pay for, and because he is male, they told him he was probably a batterer and a liar.” One study documents the experiences of 190 abused men who sought assistance from a hotline. One man reported, “I called 11 different numbers for battered women and got no help.” Another man called a “helpline” to locate couples counseling services, only to hear thinly veiled accusations that he was a batterer. The supervisor subsequently confirmed her agency’s dismissive attitude: “Why would a man call a helpline if he were not the abuser?”

[8] Predictors of dual arrest for offenders involved in heterosexual domestic violence arrests

Finally, the most important finding of the study was the effect of prior domestic violence victimization on the dual arrest outcome. Again, if a man had contact with police as victim in previous domestic violence arrest, this increased the odds of a dual arrest by over 300 percent ( p ¼ 0.00). This suggests that police officers possibly view male domestic violence victims differently than female victims and may not take their victimization seriously. Research reports approximately 40-46 percent of male intimate partner victims use the police as a formal help-seeking mechanism (Ansara and Hindin, 2010; Douglas and Hines, 2011; Drijber et al., 2012). However, when male victims utilize police, many do not find it useful and are discouraged from calling the police in the future because of the negative police response (Drijber et al., 2012). Specifically, Drijber et al. (2012) described how a male victim of domestic violence reported that, in spite of the police determination that his female partner was the predominant aggressor, police stated it was “silly to arrest her” because she was a woman and he was a man (p. 485). In contrast to men’s histories, neither being a victim or a defendant in a prior domestic violence case affected the odds of dual arrest for women. This is surprising, as prior research indicates that women arrested in dual arrest situations are more likely to have abuse histories (Houry et al., 2006) and having prior contact as a victim supports the “fighting back” claim. Women arrestees in this study are fighting back; in fact, almost 16 percent of the dually arrested women had been victims in a prior domestic violence. 10 Years Anniversary

PART 3

The bad memories

For 10 years I can tell many stories where I was the center of controversies with scandals and all that shit but two stories stand out among trivial ones with their unique meaning for me.

I have angered many people through the years, I am the Asshole after all, and from very early phase I got used to the flexibility of the followers counter. I wondered what the ratio is so I start counting manually who unfollowed me. Yes, I know your names... for the stats. I stopped around 2017 and for my first 3000 followers there were around 1000 unfollowers.

And this was long before the TV series drama.

Today is around 1.5-2 to 1 ratio probably. The record is around 100 unfollowers for 24 hours. But this is not the point. I never considered being unfollowed/blocked as "bad memory". You might be impressed if such numbers happen to you but I got used to that behavior to be normal. Nobody is obliged to follow me or to stay. What I feel is pity which is not for me, but for the people who unfollow/block. Like, imagine seeing all this amazing content of great fan posts, art, memes, etc., one of the best places for WoT fans for exploration and to decide to shoot yourself in the foot. Because why not handicap yourself to prove how angry you are. And do not get me wrong - everyone has the freedom to choose what to do.

So about the stories that I want to share today.

For the first one we have to go back to 2015 when there was created a Skype group chat for WoT fans from Tumblr. At that exact time by coincidence I was in my biggest controversy where pretty much the whole active UAF ganged on me and I was left alone to defend myself as nobody wanted to get involved. I won't get into boring details why and what happened, not because I am ashamed or something but as this is completely irrelevant for the point of this story. So because of the drama it was out of question for me to be member of that Skype chat group. But the Pattern had other plans. By pure accident I got access to their chat logs. I want to be very clear - I did not pretend or lie to be someone else, nor I asked someone to pretend or lie for me. I did not plot it to trick anyone, it just happened.

At the time of the scandal basically this chat group acted as tool for coordination for my opposition on what and how to attack me in the scandal. They could not suspect anything so you can imagine how free and safe they were in slandering my name without any hesitation. I read amazing speculations and many various labels about myself. It was surreal and brutal experience to know what exactly was going on in real time. I do not recommend anyone such revelation. Especially if you cannot handle people to speak your name in bad faith. This is not the first time where I tell the story as I have talked about it here and here.

And I make this reveal not to play the victim or to play the creep. You can imagine that by having this priceless information this was dangerous “weapon” for me as well as for the people involved. For many of you this is nightmare and you probably start imagining various horrible scenarios of cyber harassment.

I wouldn't tell this story if such was the case. No one was threatened, hurt, stalked, harassed or whatever action by me. The only thing that truly angered me was how third completely innocent parties got involved and slandered for nothing. I did not care for myself. At the end after time I had chat with some of the members of the Skype group. And with one of the members I even got to be on friendly speaking terms.

The point of the story is not to tell you how badly I was treated in that hidden chat but that while I was in my lowest point in the fandom, reading all the shit about me, knowing who told what - after the drama I did not hold any grudge and I wanted to communicate. And I did communicate and no one can come out and show disrespectful DMs of mine because of what I have known.

And while for the first story I succeeded to not be bothered what false lies strangers on the Internet tell about me, the second one broke my heart and hurt badly my state of mentality.

For four years I considered and treated a group of people on the Internet as my close friends. Yeah, huge mistake. Do you know what the feeling to be betrayed by friends is? Better not finding out. It did some damage on my mental stability for quite a time as I haven't ever been betrayed at such severe degree before.

I got backstabbed in the heart with no warning out of a clear blue sky. And I stand by these words. I have not talked on my blog about it in the last 2 years but for the purpose of this post, I will tell some of it. No one can come out and say that I did something inappropriate in public or in private. At the end I got betrayed for being "potential threat". This accusation could fly if I was some newbie. But after 4 years? For 4 years of constant communication any real evidence couldn't be found? People couldn't look with their own eyes that 4 years I have never been a threat for anyone despite having admin position to do so much? On the contrary, my introverted ass was constantly pushing around to connect with people and push for the community to be active. I have not changed for these particular 4 years and I have not changed till now. For 10 years as I am on Tumblr no one can come and tell real story of harassment or bullying. With the generic exception of the usual "he is an asshole" because I challenged their opinion and did nothing else.

But again. The point is not making myself victim, or how badly it affected me.

The point, as with the first story, is communication. I am still here. I am still willing to talk with people who do not share my views. We are all different after all. For many of you it may seem impossible and you will forever live in fear and pain.

It doesn't matter how badly I was treated, there is always a bigger goal. I may live in fear, suspicion and pain from all the bad treatment. But this cannot compare to the bigger disaster and the bigger pain watching the superficial manipulated division in the fandom. If we do not want to communicate and talk through our differences, no one else will do it.

Do you know who I credit for my mentality to go through the blur of pain and to still willing to communicate with the people who wronged me? That's right.

(Major spoilers/foreshadowing) Ch 104

Return of the cut

Chapter 104 is VERY unusual in that it's almost a 1:1 adaptation with its kkp novel chapter. Since season 2, the pace has quickened to be about 1.5-1.8 novel chapters to 1 manhwa chapter. I presume, from the producers/editors to get to the more interesting parts quickly since the series isn't popular enough to get a slow 1:1 adaptation like some other big name series (the lower the adaptation ratio, the more they're milking the series). Who knows? Anyways, that very obvious Rupert-leaning-in-to-kiss and being lost in his own world to not notice Tory is manhwa-original. He's so focused on Lari and in the mood that he doesn't even notice TORY staring from the background. And of course, Lari, coming to her senses, shoves him off panel where he's probably fuming and annoyed as he watches Tory and Lari talk amongst themselves ^^; (In the novel, after getting close to her, he walks out and then Tory pops in) --- An interesting bit the manhwa focuses on is the green ribbon that Lari gave Tory in chapter 62, and how Tory says "she still likes Lari". It's been 3(?) years already, yet Tory ONLY wears that one, and we see this chapter that it's worn ragged. Is it worn because she's worn it so much? or is it saying how her missions are dangerous? Another thing is - why did she remove it? Is it because she just returned from a mission and had taken it off because she didn't wan't it to get dirty, OR did she take it off because she hated it/Lari. In these volumes, Tory does that quite a bit. One moment she says that she hates Lari, and another she says she likes her. It's mentioned that her personality was eventually warped by the nature of being an alchemic doll, so she probably does feel both at the the same time: She likes lari, but she also hates her. Readers can make your opinion on that.

---- So Lari is finally now at the abandoned palace (formerly of Akan I). She finally has a chance to access it, since the Crazy Emperor is dead (although she didn't quite get permission from Rupert lol). It's interesting when you think back - she learned of this palace's existence from Viscount Coen, who told her to explore it to find her origins, yet she uses it to look for Rupert's real birthday (+ Tory's). We find out later that it's intentional - Lari CHOSE to ignore the flags about her birth, because she was happy enough with her current/situation life and didn't want to mess it up with seemingly unrelated information that could hurt her more. so she CHOSE to explore the palace to look for something more useful - Like Rupert's birthday, because she wanted to properly celebrate it with him this year ;_____; The information she learned about Eva's past... is different than what Trash dad told her in chapter 55. This recollection in the diary... is the real truth. The "Truth" we learned back in season 2... was half a lie to fit Trash dad's agenda to fool Lari. Such Trash.

I found it VERY interesting the panels they decided to adapt/change. It was very optimized since they couldn't exactly post whole paragraphs, but they omitted the part that when Eva came to Vellnelni, Tory was her young aide.

Basically the history the manhwa gives is that Akan I and his empress were very kind and frugal rulers that chose peace above all. But Crazy Emperor wanted to completely possess Eva, so he initiated a rebellion + the support of the people because he was a war hero with a lot of power behind him. During the rebellion, Akan I and his family went into hiding with the help of his close aides, and in that time Crazy Emperor had trapped Eva in the palace, and she had already given birth to Rupert (so the abuse had started years ago). Unfortunately, Crazy Emperor still managed to find Akan I and his family hiding in a room somewhere, and killed off the Empress, and their two children. There was also a baby there... but because of the situation, the baby died soon after birth at one point. In the end, the imperial family was wiped out. But of course, this is officially recorded history at that time, and no one is there to give the whole truth.

-- It's definitely a foreshadowing moment. IN terms of being kind and frugal, Akan I and Lari are very very similar. They both were unable to break ties with ppl they trusted (Crazy Emperor and Riche/Amelia/Belois), Akans died, and TL1 Lari was ignorant, but as we see from the recent developments, we know that TL2 Lari won't walk the same path, because her motivation now is to ensure Rupert's happiness. I have to say it again - Now, Lari wants Rupert to change, because if he doesn't, he's doomed to be sad and lonely for his whole life as Emperor. She wants him to be happy! (LARIIIIII T_T)

I have done these a few times now and I think I've found a good ratio. These are not desert, more like a fun sandwich.

2 apples

2 eggs

2 tablespoons chia seeds

1-1.5 dl cottage cheese. I normally just go for the best portion-size thing is on campaign. It's a bonus if it has a flavour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1.5 dl flour

Cinnamon

Rolled oats (probably 3-5 dl)

Grate the apples

Add everything except the oats to a bowl and mix. Trust the process

Mix in as much oats as is needed for it to be kinda dough-like

Put baking cups on a tray, put the dough in the cups

Put the tray in the oven. I normally do 225°C but I'm not sure my oven works how it's supposed to, so idrk. Just keep an eye on it, you'll figure it out

If you want to switch out the apples, I think bananas should work, since they're more commonly used in this type of baking. I don't like bananas though, so I haven't tried. I have tried raw grated potatoes though, which was like a solid 3/10, can't recommend it. I could imagine boiled potatoes or a small zucchini be good though, but I haven't tried so I'll update you if I do.

The cottage cheese can be switched out for yougurt or a plant based version. A pudding or creme fraiche probably works too. I have tried a vegan yougurt, but i got the ratios a little bit wrong (I had a 3 dl pack and still the same of some ingredients), so it turned out a little bit spongy, but still tasty.

You can obviously add more or other seeds. The cinnamon isn't necessary if you don't want that, it still tasted good (especially if you have flavoured cottage cheese).

To make it gluten free, just switch out the flour for a gluten free alternative, and make sure the oats are without risk of having gotten in contact with gluten.

Overall Impression: Pluem and Kevin, bro they were soooooo fucking cute just unbelievable I was cheesing throughout so many of their interactions. they really felt like people who liked each other and also just bounced off each other so well. Idek how I feel about the last 1.5 eps because in terms of writing, I have some qualms but like Kevin and Pluem are so cute that I can’t even think critically. Also, I love the deliberate choice of using you/I so much and what it means when it’s used vs not used (meung). The ghost stuff was intriguing and I’m glad they didn’t somehow make them come back or anything. I wish we got some more background in terms of how things actually worked and some more lore building but I’m still generally okay with the way it went, combining the comedy and sadness.  I wish we had more of the GL rip

Also cheeky Yok coming over to Dan’s station at the end

When Nuea sulks or gets hurt by Toh’s carefully put on callousness or uncaringness (ep 3 him being annoyed that Toh keeps saying shit! everytime they met, 3-4, 5-3, 8-3 Nuea sulking at Toh insinuating Nuea might wanna break up in the future, 9-3 when Nuea’s upset that Toh didn’t say they were faen to the girls and told them to join what was gonna be their date, 13-3), it feels so real like the feelings really matter to Nuea and that he can be hurt by the lack of reciprocation.

Fave Scenes: 3-1 when Nuea visiting Toh’s dorm to see the photos he took, 3-4 when Nuea comes to Toh’s room to ask about why he left the event early and sulks and there’s hurt from both ends because each think the other doesn’t care T.T so good, 5-3 Nuea/Toh lip kiss because of the Kung King game and Nuea being so sad that Toh had no reaction and was brushing it off and saying it was just a game, 8-2 their little heart to heart after confessing in the last part about why Toh takes photos, 10-4 just friendly friends playing games, 13-3 when Toh’s collection is revealed and Nuea’s reaction to Toh insinuating their relationship will end and them baring their souls to each other

Overall Impression: saw a few clips of the show on tiktok and was thinking of watching it through these tiktok vids but now that I’m anticipating Bed Friend even more after the trailers, I think I’ll watch their parts on actual weTV lol. They made them both friendless, annoying losers who don’t have friends bc their classmates don’t like them but they still have money and get girls; it’s like two opposing tropes in one. Thought it was interesting that Foie was basically open about really liking Tan from after the kiss but he didn’t think they’d be good or that Tan was serious, so didn’t pursue anything. The car crash was a useless decision but the asking to be bfs scene was cute, though they disappeared from the story after that lol. Overall Impression: Definitely enjoyable and also different from other BLs I’ve watched because this was a lakorn that had a huge component of Tian being gay but the actual romance took up very little screen time. Very dramatic, gives me Indian serial vibes. The acting, characterization, occasional action were all good. The focus on women, even though they were mostly fucked in the head, was also a welcome change in the midst of all my BL consumption.Yang and Tian’s brotherhood was everything!!! I love siblings and sibling bonds so much T.T Yang/Pin were also freaking adorable!! Tian and Jiu were not the biggest part of the story, didn’t really even have much interactions before ep 7 but they were sooo romantic.

Overall Impression: When Mek-Kim were cute, they were cute but there were some poor choices with their writing that made it boring sometimes or just lacked sense, like with the separation. Park-Lee my lovelies who call each other ‘ter’ and propose at the same time and are physically affectionate and have feelings like insecurity or jealousy. Bomb and Bear were so cute in the beginning but then became :< sad in the end but it felt like something that could happen with wonky work-life balance. Tim and Mai were sooo rancid and passive aggressive in the middle, I was liking it but then the confession was anti-climactic and then they fizzled out. This show had a lot of heart. Don’t think I’ll remember much except Park and Lee but it was a fun enough watch while it lasted.

Overall Impression: my last piece of media watched for 2022! It was cute and tackled a few things (Punpun working to realize her idol dream, her relationship with Tim, Punpun’s dad’s approval, Punpun’s aunt and the guy who keeps breaking watches, along with plenty of other characters and scenes), it would’ve been so good as a 10 ep show, oof. now it was a cute watch but too short and speedy to really empathize with what the characters are going through beyond the initial ‘oh that sucks’. I liked the stuff it focuses on: girlfriends, chasing dreams, (complicated) familial bonds and looking out for each other, but it would’ve been better if fleshed out

Conclusion: Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Other minor differences deserve the plus sign. The Note 10's lack of a ToF camera is not a problem, but it may be something some people will regret. The Note 10 can only be purchased with 256GB. It's possible to feel uneasy about 8 gigs of RAM. But, with only 256GB of storage, we can see why some may be disappointed. It doesn't have to be. Let's get it out of its box and begin to find out if Note 10 deserves its name.

India's shortage of doctors is a harsh reality

The National Medical Commission Bill has been heralded as a watershed moment that will significantly advance the state of medicine in India. National exit test latest news is the National Exit Test will be mandatory for students who graduated from MCI/NMC approved medical colleges abroad also.

 Our nation falls well short of the WHO requirement of 1000 doctors per 1000 people. Only one of of India's eleven states adhere to the WHO standard, and no healthcare organisations do.

 In addition to a severe doctor shortage, India's health care system is also struggling with ineffective human resources and subpar infrastructure. India has had a large number of fatalities over the past few years as a result of a lack of medical professionals, particularly doctors in government institutions.

 Only 9.26 lakh doctors may be actively accessible for service, assuming 80% of the doctors registered with the Board of Governors/State Medical Councils/Medical Council are available. Since some doctors may retire, move into hospital management, or move abroad without having their names removed from the record, the correct data is never a match.

 With over 1974 primary healthcare facilities operating without even a single doctor, the nation urgently needs at least 3000 doctors. With approximately 5000 surgeons needed, there is a significant shortage in community health facilities in rural areas.

 In India, there are 15,700 basic health centres that only have one physician on staff. The predicted 600,000-doctor shortfall in India is expected to be resolved by 2022 if there is an increase in the number of beds available in hospitals.

 Differences in the ratio between states

 The WHO recommends one doctor for every 1000 inhabitants, although states like Kerala, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Delhi, Punjab, and Goa have more doctors than that. Despite this, the rural public health system lacks enough physicians. In the state of Tamilnadu, there are 4 doctors per 1000 residents. In Goa and Punjab, it is 1.3, 1.5 in Kerala and Karnataka, and 3 in Delhi.

 The majority of doctors from these states are wary of migrating to areas like Bihar or UP where there is a dire need for medical professionals. There is only one doctor for every 8000 or more people in Jharkhand, and per 6000 or more people in Haryana. There is just 1 doctor for every 3000+ people in states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

  According to a study that was published in the Indian Journal of Public Health, India will require 2.07 million more doctors by 2030 in order to reach the 1:1000 ratio. Our government has set aside just 1.3% of the GDP for this, compared to the global average of 6% for public healthcare. More people can wind up paying high prices in private hospitals as a result of the lack of government doctors.

 Are we capable of managing the COVID-19 crisis?

 The first step in the fight against coronavirus is to maintain the ratio of doctors to the 1.36 billion people in the world's population. Addressing the imbalance between supply and demand for healthcare infrastructure is urgently needed. In order to stop the infection from spreading, most hospitals have strict shift policies for their medical staff. Nearly every other day, new reports surface of doctors quarantining themselves after getting the illness.

 To address this unusual scenario, all states must comply with the fundamental healthcare criteria, including having enough doctors, nurses, and personal protective equipment (PPEs).

OH BOY DO I HAVE A RECIPE FOR Y'ALL

I used to have a pretty severe lack of appetite due to chronic nausea but I (and most people who've tried it) could easily scarf down three oversized servings of this good stuff. It doesn't even taste like you're eating vegetables and it's fairly easy to make with a lot of room for error and experimentation. It won't work for everybody but I reckon it's worth a shot.

Main ingredients:

- Mashed potatoes (home-made or from an instant package)

- Red cabbage with apple (combined in a glass jar)

- Ground beef

I like to get these in a ratio of potatoes : cabbage : beef = 1 : 1.5 : 1 (i.e., 1 kg of mashed potatoes, 1.5 kg of red cabbage and 1 kg of ground beef. you could probably try lower amounts at first but there's a good chance you'll regret this decision lol). Altering these ratios somewhat should be fine. I've tried ratios like 1.5 : 2 : 1 without issues.

Spices + misc.:

(I can't give exact amounts bc I mostly eyeball it)

- Salt

- Cinnamon

- Nutmeg

- Paprika powder

- Butter

- Optional*: onion, garlic, black pepper

Utensils:

- Oven

- Oven dish

- Stove/hot plate

- Pan

- Strainer

Recipe:

- Preheat the oven at 180°C / 356 °F.

- Prepare the mashed potatoes in your preferred way. Just add a smidge more water and butter than you normally would. It should be a bit soggy, but not runny. Set aside.

- Use a strainer to get rid of some excess moisture from the jars of red cabbage with apple. I like to press down on the cabbage in the strainer with a breakfast plate for a few seconds to speed up the process. Set aside.

- Fry the ground beef in a pan over mid-high fire until lightly browned. Add salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, and paprika powder (and black pepper, onion and garlic) to taste. Add plenty of salt and spices (esp cinnamon) – their flavors are supposed to be a bit overpowering at this stage. Set aside.

- Butter up an oven dish.

- Add the ground beef to the oven dish. Make a nice flat layer.

- Layer the red cabbage with apples on top of the ground beef in the oven dish.

- Layer the mashed potatoes on top of the red cabbage in the oven dish. Sprinkle some nutmeg on top of the mashed potatoes to make it look nice.

- Put the oven dish in the oven for 40-50 minutes at 180°C / 356°F until a hardened golden-brown layer has formed on top of the mashed potatoes.

- Aaand it's done!

- For the best eating experience I recommend mixing and mashing a serving together with a fork until it's a mushy whole, or at least combining all three layers in a single bite. Hence why your ground beef should be overspiced a bit: the flavours should be strong enough to spice up the other two layers as well.

*I had to start excluding these from all my recipes because they contributed to my nausea, but I assure you this particular dish is just as tasty without 'em. Besides, excluding onions and (fresh) garlic cuts down on prep time.

i mean this in the gentlest way possible: you need to eat vegetables. you need to become comfortable with doing so. i do not care if you are a picky eater because of autism (hi, i used to be this person!), you need to find at least some vegetables you can eat. find a different way to prepare them. chances are you would like a vegetable you hate if you prepared it in a stew or roasted it with seasoning or included it as an ingredient in a recipe. just. please start eating better. potatoes and corn are not sufficient vegetables for a healthy diet.

1. Do you daydream a lot before you write, or go for it as soon as the ideas strike?

A bit of both. I do my best thinking when I'm on the move. I get up every morning and walk for 1-1.5 hours. Just thinking. Planning my day. Then I do 35-60 minutes of moderate to intense cardio 5-6 times a week. Those are my daydream times. For shorter stuff, I might hit on a fic idea or come up with a terrible joke or imagine Kacy doing filthy things to each other during just one of these walks/cardio sessions, and then that's enough to come home and just start barfing words.

For longer stuff like Throw Pillows and now this Law School AU, I'm daydreaming constantly. Writing bits and pieces here and there. Organizing it all into a huge outline. I have started drafting, but this the daydreaming to winging it ratio is much high than the short stuff.

And then there are fics like 'Once You Pop, You Can't Stop' and 'Girls' Day' where I came up with the idea in my kitchen, spent a handful of minutes to map out the idea, and then put words down. So I wouldn't even call that daydreaming.

2. Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process?  How do you come up with titles?

During or after. My Slow 'Verse formula is just 2 random things mentioned in the fic with an 'and' tacked between. Canon smut is a kinda cringe, but also hot Kate line (The last fic had to deviate from that a bit cause the tone wasn't right for a line, but hopefully I'll be back with one for the 2x07 fic). I've done some song titles and also some random stuff. Gym, Work, & Boo and the Canon Smut titles are probably the only ones I'm proud of. The others are just 'this fic needs a title, so *barf* here's your title.'

3. What is your most self-indulgent posted story?

It's a tossup between 'Taste the Pain' and 'Forbidden Fruit.'

Taste the Pain is my Skucy fic. I knew there would be a limited audience for it. I knew my ask box would light up with complaints from people who can't read tags/believe that all fanfic must personally appeal to them & anyone writing something that doesn't fit their very specific needs is horrible and must hear about it 🙄 But I wanted to see if I could write bad, kinda fucked up sex. I can. So yay!

Forbidden Fruit was all about me taking my own terrible joke about pineapples causing tongue blisters and my own terrible (affectionate) headcanon that Kate is obsessed with eating pussy and turning it into a filthy crack fic. Nobody asked for it. But my brain wanted to write it. So I did. And I consider that to be incredibly self-indulgent given the other stuff I could have been writing at that particular moment.
