@vikjaycecodex exists for a reason. people will always act stupid but jayce/vi was hetcrack and they were depicted as piltover friends far more often than they were seriously shipped: Vi, at time of launch, came with a shitton of exclusive special interactions and game stats just for Caitlyn - at a time where League basically didn't have any of those for majority of the roster. here's a 11yrs video reporting them. Caitvi was by faaaaaar the main Vi ship, vi/jayce was either ppl being extremely heterobasic or purposefully homophobic lol.

Years later, they reunite after Viktor talks Jayce off of the roof of his apartment building. They rekindle their friendship, try to be each other's safe space, but both have since gone through hardships that impacted them significantly. Read along as they reconnect, share their pain and ultimately fall in love. Angsty, hurt with a lot of comfort. They do fun stuff a lot, too, so I feel like there's some lightheartedness in there too. I have posted up to chapter 6, but have written up until chapter 10 already and will post over the next few days!

Survivor's guilt and a talisman: https://archiveofourown.org/works/61098436 Takes place after the ending of Arcane. Jayce and Viktor survive their ordeal, but not without their struggles. Viktor cannot seem to get over what he has done. Luckily, Jayce is there to pick up the pieces. I mostly wrote this when I first finished the show because I could not accept the fact that they died (still can't). This was my first time writing these characters, so it was also partly an exploration of their characters. I just think it's a disservice to Viktor's character to just have him live on and go about his business without any guilt. This one is also angsty and has hurt and comfort. And a happy-ish ending. It's kinda open-ended but you'll get what I mean when you read it.

A Christmas to remember: https://archiveofourown.org/works/61467895 Takes place during the S1 timeskip, before it all goes downhill. Jayce loves Christmas, Viktor is ambivalent to it at best. Jayce is determined to make their first Christmas as a couple memorable. Viktor is intrigued to see what he has in store. I wanted to write a stupid, silly, tooth-rotting Christmas fic because I wasn't looking forward to the holidays myself lol. It's just them being in love, nothing more.

I have so many fanfiction ideas, it's insane how much I love these two and how they inspired me to start writing again. I just find it difficult to get the ao3 algorithm on my side, so I'm promoting my own work, as egotistical as that sounds. But if you have nothing better to do, maybe check them out!:)

I hate Act III, sorry. All the second season was too rushed and some characters that didn't deserve a happy ending got it, and those who have been suffering got the worst ending.

Acts I and II were good, but III is the worst.

I still think Arcane is one of the best shows we've gotten and will get for a long time, the art, animation, soundtrack, the characters...I love Arcane, that won't change. And that's exactly why I'm so critical with the second season, because I expected more and better, I know it could have been better. Maybe they only needed another season to not rush all the plot lines, or even discard some of them.

WTF Caitvi sex scene IN JINX'S CELL, RIGHT AFTER SHE LEFT. That's so disrespectful and stupid, Vi wasn't in the right state of mind, as much as I love Caitvi, putting that scene there was a mistake

I'm sorry but I also hate Timebomb (I'm a Lightcannon shipper, which is funny because Lux doesn't even show up in Arcane, but one can dream through fanarts)

Jinx surrendering (why we didn't even get a flashback scene?) and being imprisoned like a dog. Yet the enforcers were never punished

Vi not listening to Jinx telling her MULTIPLE TIMES to get out of there, and because of her, Jinx sacrifices herself (yes, I know she's most likely alive. But that brings my next point:)

Jinx not getting a happy ending at all. She lost everyone, right when she was about to get rehabilitated, Isha dies right in front of her. And we didn't get any Sevika dialogue with her, not even trying to save Jinx (Sevika surely didn't know, but at least a scene where she looks for Isha and Jinx???)

The final scene where Vi is only seen with Caitlyn. Yes, I knew they'd end up together and they deserve it, but what about everything that happened? Losing all her family? Learning to fight just to lose everything and everyone? Ekko not talking to Vi at all after the war? Vi not mourning Jinx?

Why make Jayce and Mel be together if they were going to forget about it and act like it didn't happen? (I prefer Jayvik, but that's another story)

Jinx saving Caitlyn, but apparently that didn't matter at all. Jinx killed her mother, yes. But enforcers killed countless of people, including Jinx and Vi's parents. Even if Jinx surrendered, why put her in that isolated jail? That was Caitlyn's grief acting

Honestly I don't know why Isha had to sacrifice herself, I feel it was too unnecessary, just to traumatize Jinx even more and kill Warwick again.

I wanted to see more of Vi, of her life in prison and before their parents died (besides Vander's memories). But they put too much focus on Caitlyn and the Caitvi. As if Vi's entire character is being Cait's girlfriend

Caitlyn (and every enforcer) didn't get punish at all for their crimes. Caitlyn became a dictator because Jinx killed her mother, but countless of children saw their own parents be murdered in front of them, and now they're the bad guys for attacking back? Mind you, at least Jinx aimed her weapon to the Council, the people who oppressed them.

But Piltover kills civilians like nothing, putting CHILDREN in jail. At the end, they end up like the good guys, giving Zaun a seat in the Council. When they should have fought for it, making Piltover pay for everything they've done. Which brings my next two points:

Zaun is never set free, it's still part of Piltover

Following the previous point: Caitlyn becomes a dictator, Viktor a cult god who almost destroys the world. But Jinx is so unredeemable???

Vi accepting Cait immediately, as if act I didn't happen. I understand they wanted to make Caitvi canon, but it was too rushed.

The 'good timeline' being like that because Vi died???? WTF the enforcers wanted a name, ANYONE to put the blame on, so the Council could 'make an example'. And now suddenly everything is okay? The abuse from Piltover is gone? But even if that were true, it's sad it would take Vi's death so peace could exist

Cait put Jinx, a traumatized, suicidal and schizophrenic girl in an ISOLATED CELL.

In a more relaxed note, I hate the design of Powder in the other timeline. I have to admit I absolutely love Jinx's design, with her bang and long braids but damn I expected a Powder with a single braid and a better sense of fashion xd

I understand Ambessa was behind everything, she was using Caitlyn recent grief to manipulate her. But she never apologized, her actions can't be erased, she said it herself.

Jinx giving 'her blessing' to Vi to be with Cait. Jinx has been feeling replaced by Cait since season 1 and right when we thought they could resolve this (before Act III), they do this. If anything, they confirm Cait replaced Jinx and that Jinx had every reason to feel like that

Jinx sacrificing herself (yeah, we know she isn't truly dead, but I'm talking about the symbolism) WASN'T REDEMPTION. IT WAS SUICIDE, A TRAGEDY. Just a few hours ago Jinx tried to kill herself five times, she just saw an opportunity to do it again and not making Vi fight for her, because Jinx feels she doesn't deserve Vi. It wasn't heroic, it was a suicide

Singed getting his happy ending. HIM, OF ALL PEOPLE. He created the Shimmer, made it a drug and created addicts in Zaun just so he could keep experimenting.

Dude, I get it, you want your daughter back, but at that point you should've just accepted she's gone. Vander is gone, Vi and Ekko are left alone (which brings my next point), Jinx killed herself, Jayce spent days, weeks or months alone in an apocalyptic world, Zaun is still under Piltover's power...And HE gets his happy ending? No consequences? No punishment for experimenting on dead bodies/potentially having killed them, for being in Ambessa's side????

Following point 7, why Vi is only seen with Cait at the end? Ekko is truly alone now, and Vi only has the enforcer who betrayed her and never apologized for her actions with her and Zaun. I get it, they wanted to please Caitvi's shippers, but shipping is not the only thing here (which why I hated Timebomb in the alternate timeline)

The whole Noxus thing. It took away the Piltover-Zaun conflict, and it felt too big to make it fit in the second season

Heimerdinger's death. It was so unnecessary and stupid

As I said in point 3, I hate Timebomb. But I expected they'd go this route. What I didn't like is how they made Ekko focus so much on the Firelights just to make it about Powder in the alternate timeline. As far as we were shown (in Arcane only, not counting LOL), Ekko maybe had a crush on her when they were kids, and since Powder went with Silco they were separated and even fighting.

Maybe it's just me, but it doesn't make sense to me why a childhood crush was so important that in the alternate timeline he doesn't hesitate to be with her. Why he doesn't look for the Firelight members, see if they're okay? AND HIS TREE???

Other fans say Ekko loves both Powder and Jinx, but I don't see it that way, even when he came back, he almost calls her Powder again. When he was the one saying she's Jinx now (back in season 1).

They didn't show the conversation after Ekko stopped her five suicide attempts, and even if the creators and writers say they did, I don't like when they don't show it but we have to make the scenes out of what they say afterwards.

Even if it's hinted in LOL, in Arcane there was not enough development to make it believable.

There are so many skipped scenes. Sevika went from leaving the room (not even saying a word, she didn't get any dialogue past Act II) to fighting along other Zaunites and Firelights against Ambessa. No reunion scene between Jinx and Sevika, no Sevika asking where the kid is, no them bonding a bit over the loss.

Maddie being a spy. I knew something was off with her in her first scene, but I feel her traitor reveal was so empty and meaningless.

As I said in other post: I liked how she was presented at first: a (probably) new and naive enforcer who wants to do better, who admires Caitlyn and because of that, she makes wrong decisions such as supporting Ambessa and the Martial Law.

The whole “everyone’s turning on the jayviks” thing going on(on twitter of course) is so petty to me. Because yes there are a lot of horrible Jayvik fans but acting as if it’s every single one is stupid. But even beyond that, no one is going to care. Most people actually have lives and do things they enjoy instead of praying on the downfall of someone for enjoying a ship because you group them up. This applies to anything in the arcane fandom but I am bringing it up here specifically because it is part of my point. “They do not actually care about Jayce” just say you don’t interact with the fandom? Because yes there are a lot of fans who don’t care about Jayce, but then there are more who he is literally their favourite characters. Jayce is personally my favourite character and I do more than enough complaining about how he is treated, but then acting like it’s all of them is stupid. So many people think more about things they don’t like than things they do. Some of you genuinely need to go outside for a walk or something because this is just stupid. “Clocking them <3” and it’s just saying all Jayvik shippers should die? Because people should obviously call out posts that are stupid, disrespectful, misogynistic, racist, and just incorrect, and I agree it is baffling how many people are like that in the Jayvik fandom. But saying everyone who ships it is horrible, or taking one post and going “see they do this that and this” and not even saying “some” or just “this person” seems like do you nit have a basic grasp over anything. I’m sorry nobody who is mentally stable and leaves there room to go be an active member of society does this. Oh boy…. being a Jayvik shipper is hard (especially on twitter)

I can understand if people see them as platonic, romantic,… but brothers? When I and my sister heard that ppl see them as brothers, we looked at each other with disgust (we’re not the only one). And everytime I see post on tik tok or twitter that is aimed for shippers, there is ALWAYS at least one comment that says “oh but they’re like brothers” (if u see them like that, then ok it’s your opinion idc, but if you proceed to argue about it NON STOP with the shippers, calling them stupid and delusional, then something’s wrong with you, if you can’t even respect someone’s opinion)

AND they always use these same arguments whenever they can:

Argument numero uno: “but Jayce said he’s like his brother”

like yeah we get it, he said it, but what was the last time he called him that ? In season 1.

He stopped calling him that after.

(And it happens in real life too, you can change how you see someone after some time)

Number 2 “but writters said they aren’t canon”

when did they said that? (I’m genuinely asking)

How can I be so obsessed and in love with jayvik, but not have a single fanfic idea for them, usually I do but now just nothing. They get placed in characters too hard to write pile. Like even the most basic idea feels annoying if I were to try...I don't even publish my writing anywhere so this is double stupid to write. Fuck it, little (very basic) scenarios I haven't yet seen in fanfic although I would like.. (it might be just me not having patience to look.)

Post-canon Viktor and Jayce talking how Jayce couldn't let him die after the bombing. Much tears, Viktor most likely thinks Jayce should have let him die and Jayce talking him out of the mindset.

Jayce talks Viktor into coming some Kiramman party but everything goes wrong.

Pining! Jayce! And only one who realises that is Mel, maybe Cait.

In general sibling dynamic with Jayce and Caitlyn is something this fandom needs. (Like Vi and Jayce being himbo idiots together is fun fanon, but wouldn't canon be more Cait and Jayce losing their brain cells when they're together?)

Please for half a second remember that the WHOLE point of the end of JayVik arc was Jayce being like “hey dude. You’re not broken. I always loved you how you are.” If the writers of arcane REALLY hate disability, why then redeem him with someone who Loves Him Completely, Pain And All? Jayce didn’t try to fix him at the end, he didn’t come back from the magical space-verse healed from all his disabilities. (Which would probably be. A little ableist)

The arcane writers COULD be writing disability poorly or being ableist in other ways. Frankly I don’t care enough to sit and evaluate all that right now. But in Victors case at least, you have to consider the broader picture of the story before you decide he must be written in an ableist way. Christ. Some perspective please.

I don’t usually feel the need to rant about these Bad-Media-Literacy posts. This is the bad media literacy website, after all. For the most part I even agreed with the post, and I feel there ARE some ways Victors story could’ve been made more true to the disabled community. I am in no way saying men can't play the game, but THEY themselves are saying the female protagonist in a WOMEN CENTERED GAME, should be turned into a MAN or be removed entirely for yaoi. That's completely defeating the point of the game considering the creator himself said he made LADS because women had no good games to play. It's MISOGYNY because it's acting like a game made for women isn't good enough already because it's not centered around MEN, when WOMEN are the whole point!

If they said something like "I would love a Yuri version of LADS", now THAT wouldn't be a problem because Yuri is women centered content. Yuri can be consumed by women because it would be ABOUT women. Yuri also lacks in content DRASTICALLY compared to yaoi. Fujos complain for absolute bullshit that they don't have stuff made for them when that's literally the biggest lie of the century. Fandom LITERALLY revolves entirely around them. Homophobic comments are stupid as fuck and gross but that's not gonna change how BL constantly dominates spaces and many fujoshis are misogynistic. Fanfiction and fanart is dominated by yaoi. Fujos have manga, manwha, danmei, anime, tv-shows, western comics, BL Otome games and etc. Oh, and they also come up with mlm ships out of thin fucking air, so they literally never run out of content. This is like asking for more shit when you already HAVE said 'more shit'.

Reading yaoi as a woman also does not make you some super feminist. For a queer multishipper the entire Caitvi vs. Jayvik conflict is the dumbest thing imaginable. Not only because these ships can coexist, but also because it's based on something that's not even true.

I'm talking about the idea that m/m pairing is or can be more popular than Caitvi because of misogyny and lesbophobia. I don't know what even started it. I've seen some Jayviks saying their ship is the most popular, and I've also seen Caitvis complaining how their ship is less popular because people prefer m/m. Meanwhile, Jayvik is not even more popular than Caitvi, and I don't think that the reason others have for shipping is misogyny.

Both ships existed in the fandom for years before Caitvi was canonized, and while Jayvik wasn't small and was confirmed to be written as queer-coded, Caitvi has always been the more popular ship. Going by the "logic" of this stupid beef, it must have been because of homophobia and misandry. After s1, Jayvik was still far less popular than Caitvi, which proves that fans didn't only start after s2 because it was a m/m ship, but because of the writing and the story. Even now, Caitvi is still more popular. If you look at any other platform and polls made among the general Arcane fandom, Jayvik gets around 10% of all votes, Caitvi around 20%, and Timebomb sweeps them both with 65-70%. The order from most to least popular is Timebomb, Caitvi, Jayvik, and then the rest. Those are facts. Jayvik had a huge influx of fics and fanarts and perhaps is more popular on Tumblr, and currently on AO3, but that's just because the fandom is very active. In terms of popularity among people and sheer numbers of shippers all polls prove that Caitvi is only behind Timebomb and that Ekko and Jinx are the 2 most liked characters in the series. Most post s2 popularity polls end with Jinx vs Ekko.

I don't think that Timebomb shippers should be attacked just because they're bigger and overshadowed the rest either ! Everybody should enjoy whatever they prefer, which means that naturally, some things will be more popular and some less. Any beef based on popularity is stupid. Still, the idea that the second-biggest ship has a problem with the popularity of the smaller one and that there's a beef between the second and third for popularity and overshadowing when they both are far far behind the first one is simply idiotic. Neither of those ships is the most popular anyway no matter how much they might want to deny it. Something like that could have only happened in the Arcane fandom.
