sombra is so interesting as a character. she's playful and cunning (also a little bit of a chismosa) but what i find the most endearing about her is her fondness towards the elderly. there's her whole deal with sigma (they have over 4 voicelines together, isn't that crazy?), but there's also her inviting ana to a trip to tulum free of charge and begrudgingly helping reinhardt with his phone. it's such an interesting part of her that hasn't been explored much yet but i'm excited to see where it comes from

‘Given the breadth of domestic and international crimes you’re currently on the run for, I think I can forgive you assuming I was a guy. Can you be here in the next half hour?’ Because she plans on being gone before then. From the sound of things, along with the speed with which Sombra sussed her out, Emily’s either gotten a direct hit on a nerve or is so far out of her element that she’ll be dead in ten minutes, rather than thirty.

Either way, this feels like an actionable situation. She takes the one fake she’d messaged the hacker on and puts it in another pouch, standing from the sunburst on the floor with a sense of finality. She might be far from Sombra, but she doubts she’s far from one of the freelancer’s cronies. Time to ditch.

Emily grimaces slightly to herself. She hopes that the staff don’t get taken down too hard over this, but there are going to be consequences for any maneuver this brazen. Halfway down the stairs, she rethinks taking the burner phone with her.

‘Catch me if you can.’ And with that, it’s dropped in a water feature and Emily starts moving in earnest. Hopefully she can get to the airport before anybody gets to her.

Sombra's quick to text a message out to Talon operatives, and it's the same message she sends to Emily in this moment. It's so script kiddie, so basic so 2000's internet hacker. Just a string of numbers - her IP address - but for a little flair of style after she was so intensely styled on, also an actual physical address and a name.

'Is that a dare? I've never been asked out like that, idk it's kind of hot.' It's not, she's mad, and she'd rather fight anybody right now than play nice over text with someone who'd essentially doxxed her as much as anybody could really - whatever her actual identity was (Olivia Colomar, dead approximately 14 years ago now), it was dead long ago.

All that was left as rage, so much rage, 'cause actually she'd given up so much of her life, so much of her self, to be untraceable. To be undone was an outrage, a sin against her very sense of self. God fucking damn it. Fuck. She was so stupid.

The hacker ducked into a Talon transport ship and she only grew more pissy as Talon high command came into touch with her. They demanded of her, like - how could she, the best hacker in the world, be bested in any way? It grated against her very being to admit that even she was human and could get drunk in Tulum sometimes.
