Due to Ashe being, well Ashe. You’d think she wouldn’t do dates or much romance, but surprisingly yes! Much preferring calmer and simple dates.

Has set up your private room at her base, [Whether you live there or just visit] so she’ll set up in there.

She has very little experience, but with you she tries, and often succeeds. Flirts a lot, but you get all her real attention.

During her Deadlock days she’s gathered a pretty penny, and she’s willing to spend plenty of that on you. Even if you deny her, it won’t stop her.

Absolutely adores when you cuddle up to her, holding you back and closer. All the while making sure both of you are comfortable before falling asleep herself.

Ashe’s day was rough, and returning to you made the world around her seen non existant. Able to fall into your arms and the many, many blankets. Tugging you closer into her arms as she got under them.

Quickly enough she noticed your breathing evening out, looking just in time to see your eyes shut. Only able to chuckle at that, she just arrived and you were already out like a light.

Leaning down to leave a gentle kiss on your forehead, pulling away, and in the dim lighting was barely able to see the mark she left. Her thumb brushed over it as she thought.

It didn’t take long for her to do it again. And again.

If he’s being honest here, he had and still does, no clue what to do. But likely he found something, and that was heading out for a drink and maybe some food.

Mostly takes you to some bars and a few pubs when hungry.

He tries, and comes off real smooth yet kinda awkward. (He hasn’t done this in a while.)

Has very little to his, nothing legally. So he won’t spend much of the little he still has, but he will steal anything for you. (Be the distraction, please.)

Still awkward, but now he’s calmed down a bit. He’ll walk you to your residence before asking for a second date.

“C’mon now darlin’, don’t let this old dog down.” There he went again. You weren’t sure what would happen if he had a few drinks, but definitely not a flirty drunk. But luckily enough he stuck with you no matter what.

She’ll adapt to what you enjoy, but if she was given the choice it would be a movie.

While she would prefer staying at home or base, wanting your time together to be, well together. Although she wouldn’t be against the movie theatre.

Has no experience. But throughout your time together and even before, she’s always learning, especially what you prefer.

It’s likely Winston finds out and gives her the money. Using that on snacks and tickets if needed. Otherwise most of it is spent on you.

Will walk you to your room before leaving, finding Winston or Mercy to talk about it.

“Echo!” Turning around to find Winston making his way closer, one hand was closed, holding something likely for her.

“Oh Winston!”

“I was informed about the date, and was able to gather these.” He dropped the things into her open ones, revealing plenty of money. Especially more than enough in notes to pay for anything needed.

“Thank you, I’m sure Y/N will also appreciate the help.” With that she floated off, on her way to your room. Now she had this, all she needed to do was confirm with you.

He’ll drag you to a nearby arcade. But if you’re up in Japan he’ll bring you to one he frequented as a child / teen.

Either place will be loud, bright and flashy. Unless you become uncomfortable with anything he’ll actually enough the kids.

Hasn’t really lost his spark, but due to his death and scarring he might need some help.

Has a bit more than needed, so he’s paying for the whole night. Please don’t try to argue with him.

Afterwards he’ll take you out for food, your choice.

Compared to the cold winds outside Genji’s metal hand felt warm, likely from your own heat. Never changing or letting go when you entered the arcade, only pulling you around the place.

And you’d think someone who fights for his life almost every day would be able to win at a basic claw machine, right?

Well you’d be wrong. You watched as he failed time after time before almost giving up, before he finally caught one. It was small and simple but he beamed at you while holding it towards you.

It was a cute [Favourite animal] that held a heart, and there were plenty of other animals inside. Once he realized, now not focused on yours, he was determined to have a matching one.

He’ll much prefer something calming but able to be sentimental, like painting together.

Depending on the activity you’ll either stay home or go to a private studio for the time.

Has very little experience, he tries by giving you gifts. (Please let him know it works.)

He will spend plenty of money on the tools and wood, willing to get anything for the date and you.

You’ll be walked back to your house / room, and when he gets back to his own he’ll place all your gifts onto their dedicated shelf.

The day was spent just silently hanging out together. He sat across from you doing his own thing, which used a few tools. All had been brought in a small bag. While you continued doing your own hobby.

About an hour goes by before he moves from his spot. Turning around to gain your attention, using his empty hand to open your own. As he did his face became red and he looked away slightly.

Only looking back to place the item in your open palm. Which turned out to be a small wooden bow that he just carved. But before you could pull your hand away he also placed a few more things next to the bow.

Revealing them to be smaller, also carved arrows. Each one had either your names or your initials engraved.

This man would be the death of you.

He’ll drag you into his workshop, whether you join him or watch he doesn’t mind.

As a criminal he can’t go very far, so you’ll stay in his workshop.

He fully believes he’s romantic, tries but ultimately fails. Has no clue what he is actually doing.

Jamison has almost none, but he can’t use it anyways.

Being secretive the whole time pays off, even if he almost blew it many times. Showing off his project while beaming.

For the first few hours you willingly stayed with Jamison in his workshop. But after a while it was clear he wasn’t going to let you see, so without him noticing you left. The rest of your time was spent sitting outside the room while you heard him working away.

Before you knew it he had left the room, almost rushing past you. Luckily turning around in time.

“Oi, why’d you leave?”

“Takin’ to long Jami.”

“Well don’t do that…” He started pouting while reaching into his pocket, pulling out a small box. Placing it into your hands.

“Go on, open it!” Which you would, except there was no way to. Spinning it around until you heard a ‘click.’ The lid opened revealing a small heart rising and spinning, made of scraps and crappily coloured in different shades of red.

“So?”

“I love it Jami.” Leaning over to give him a quick kiss.

She focuses on getting to know you rather than an activity or certain place, wanting you to do the same.

You’ll spend that with each other and away from the others, likely at her place or a nearby yet kinda private park.

Due to, you know, being frozen for years, she doesn’t have much experience, even before that but she tries.

The most she spends is on any food and drinks, but is willing to spend more if needed.

Not much, but she won't let you go until you accept the snacks she made for you.

It had been hours since you arrived at Mei’s place, and it was finally time to leave. But it was clear she didn’t want you to leave yet, though she wouldn’t stop you. Surely you have plenty of things to be doing.

As she watched you walk off she suddenly remembered her gifts, the cookies!

“Y/N, wait!” And you did, letting you grab what she needed before rushing out. In her hands were a container, only able to see when she got closer. It was full of cookies.

“I made these earlier, almost forgot.” She giggled as she spoke, flushing red.

“Thank you.”

She much prefers simple and calmer date ideas. Turns out building Legos is a good idea, one she should’ve done earlier.

She’ll have you both sitting in the living room, making sure you’re both comfortable as possible. With enough lightning and the tv as background noise.

Work has always gotten in the way of any romance she’s ever tried, so the only things she knows are from asking Ana. But she still tries, even if they cause her to flush red.

Is absolutely willing to spend plenty on different sets. She makes sure you can finish any set you want.

Helping you find the best placement for them. When you leave she takes pictures and sends them to Ana, fully prepared for any teasing from her.

When you entered the first thing you saw was another Lego set, it was from the botanical collection. Specifically the Orchids. All built and setting in a [favourite colour] vase. Footsteps pulling you from the scene.

In the doorway stood Fareeha, frozen while her face quickly became red.

“I can explain,” Stepping forwards as she spoke, taking your hands into her own. “I am aware we built some yesterday, but I saw these and they reminded me of you.”

Everyone assumes it’s a meeting, unaware (Except for Sombra) of what is really happening. Just you two spending quality time in silence doing your favourite activities.

He’ll have it set up in a private meeting room further down from the others, or invites you to his room.

Has plenty of experience (Had a wife) so he has learnt his love languages, being acts of service and quality time, although only with you.

Doesn’t need to spend any of his money but will buy anything you want or need for your hobby.

He’s a knitter, so before he leaves he’ll hand you the item he made. Please find him later for thank you cuddles, he will melt, literally.

A hand dropped onto your shoulder, if you weren’t a Talon agent it would’ve taken you down. But the metal claws gave away who they belonged to.

“Meeting room 6.” Smoke covered the area as he left, not wanting to stay around longer than necessary. Listening, you also left the area, everyone quickly became quiet.

The room's lights were off, the only light being a lamp behind him and the curtains pulled slightly open. Across the table sat Gabriel, gauntlets removed and thrown next to the yarn.

He was part way through knitting something, a stack of already finished squares. Just next to them sat the items for [activity], seemingly ready for you to start. And start you did, both of you sitting in silence for the next few hours.

She’ll spend a few hours setting up the perfect movie night, snacks, blankets and a selection of movies or shows.

All this will be set up in your shared bedroom so neither of you will have to walk far for any reason.

She’s aware she’s trying to be romantic, just unsure if it’s succeeding. (It has been for a while.)

The only money she’ll need to spend is on the snacks, buying all your favourites.

Likely one of you two will fall asleep during your bingeing, with the other following soon after.

You were both on your 3rd movie after finishing a while 4 seasons of an old yet interesting tv show. But by now your eyes started to hurt from all the lights, and your eyelids were starting to shut.

You knew you couldn’t prevent yourself from falling asleep, especially when you were so comfortable. Vivian had set up everything, so she was aware this would happen and was prepared.

She let you lean onto her, wrapping her own arms around you. And when your eyes finally shut, breathing evened out she leaned over and gave you a quick and gentle kiss. Finally following shut, letting the movie play as background noise.

He enjoys simpler date ideas, the chosen one being a walk in the park. Managing to find a quiet and pretty empty day.

While the majority of your time is spent in the park, he’ll take you to a nearby food place. Ice cream or anything else you might crave.

He doesn’t have as much experience as he lets on due to work, he knows what to do. Just a little awkward about it.

For the chosen dates he won’t need much but is willing to splurge a little during so.

If it’s late enough he’ll take you out to lunch or dinner.

The air gained a slight chill whenever it passed you, causing Jack to lend you his jacket, sticking close even then. Without realizing the end of the trail arrived, letting both of you stand outside the park.

He looks up before down at his watch, looking for the time. Apparently it wasn’t late enough to finish just yet, so he invited you out for lunch.

“How about lunch, I’ll pay?”

Of course you accepted, free lunch and time spent with Jack. A win-win situation.

She tries as much as possible to keep you away from Talon, so she takes you to a concert of your choice.

The stadium is large and unsurprisingly loud, but she makes sure you feel comfortable during all of this.

Is much more flirty rather than romantic, but can be romantic if either of you feel like it.

There’s no need for money when she has everything at her fingertips, although if you really want to she will.

She’ll ‘book’ you two a shared hotel room, putting off returning to Talon. Also wanting to spend time with you.

“Ángel~” Her voice would’ve shocked you if she didn’t already blind you with her hands over your eyes. “I have a present for you, and I know you’ll love it!”

The air became cold but only in parts around you. Although she didn’t move it seemed everything else had. The once silent air changed, people talking, walking, even cars were driving.

Her hands were removed revealing the new location. It was a stadium, but not for their normal sports game. Banners and posters showed your favourite band/singer, as they were playing here, today!

And Olivia brought you here, you needed to thank her somehow.

Ángel - Angel

She plans everything for a fancy dinner date, willing to compromise for something just as fancy but smaller for your comfort.

As long as the place is fancy to a certain degree and has food you both eat she’s willing to have a date there.

Her romantic won’t be noticeable to others, if so won’t be taken as romance. But she prefers acts of kindness, helping you with work and grabbing you things.

While she’s willing to spend a lot on you and your hobbies she does have a limit, although it is pretty high.

Afterwards she’ll have someone drive you both to your place, making sure you’re able to get inside before asking for a second date.

As the car slowed to a stop her hand lifted off yours, holding it during the ride. You knew not to open the door, quickly finding out her habit of opening it for you. Only doing it for you though, but neither of you would change that.

When the door was opened she reached for your hand, gently helping you out. Again, her hand didn’t let go of yours until you stepped inside.

“I hope you enjoyed tonight, as I want to ask for another.”

Of course you agreed.

She’ll take you to the movie theater to watch a movie of your choice.

Will go to the theater but also enjoys having home movie nights.

Often enough she’s interrupted by giggling, but she can and has been romantic.

She lets you see the amount, being enough for popcorn, drinks and the tickets.  Before surprising you by buying you both some candy.

On the way home she’ll be ranting about the movie whether it was good or bad. When you both get home she’ll continue on while making sure you’re listening, that’s by trapping you in a cuddle session.

“C’mon Love!” Her hand had slipped and was holding onto your wrist instead, but she didn’t let go. The line was surprisingly short, only being a family and a few teenagers so you got to the counter quickly.

“What do you wanna watch?” A quick glance at the options revealed a few good ones, except one stood out.

“How about [Movie]?”

“Yeah, two tickets for [Movie] please!” She continued ordering, getting popcorn and drinks. At first you thought she wasn’t going to get candy, only after she ordered everything else did she get some. Both of you getting cups to choose your candy.

“C’mon then, can’t miss any scenes!”

As she is a known criminal she won’t be able to take you very far, but will go stargazing with you.

The chosen hill is far enough from the Talon base but still safe enough, especially when with her.

She tries to be romantic, won't ever be the best due to her transformation but she tries for you.

For any date there won’t be any need for money.

If you’re not part of Talon she’ll make sure you get home safe, if so then she’ll walk you to your room.

The air has grown cold, but never becomes freezing. Staying at a comfortable kind of cold, the kind Amélie had grown used to over the years so it didn’t bother her. Yet it affected you, you shivered slightly as if trying to hide it from her.

You should know better by now, when it comes to you she won’t miss a single detail. Wrapping her arms around you, pulling you closer. When you shivered ceased she let you return to watching the stars.

And instead of doing the same her eyes never left your figure. To her you seemed to shine brighter than those stars.

Hanzo

He was very panicked because he got a text saying you needed help so he rushed to your house

He heard screaming from inside but didn't recognize your voice so he muscled the door open to get to you

That's when he saw your ex tearing up your house screaming profanities at you

No hesitation Hanzo grabbed your ex by the shoulder (nearly breaking it in the process) and dragged him out of the house

Hanzo then went over to where you locked yourself in the bedroom and quietly assured you your ex was gone

He felt terrible that you had to go through that and he doesn't leave your side for the rest of the day/night

Cassidy

Cassidy was driving to your house to pick you up for a date when he recognized your ex's car

Now, with much more desperation, he made his way to your apartment and used his spare key to get the door open when he heard yelling and crashing noises from inside

When he saw you, cowered in a corner with your ex screaming at you he immediately put himself between you and your ex

After forcing your ex to leave he dropped beside you to make sure you were okay

If you let him he's pulling you into a tight hug for a couple minutes

Afterward, you and him clean up the mess your ex made, and he tries his best to take your mind off what happened

Soldier 76

He'd already had plans to go spend time with you at your apartment but his blood boiled when he opened the door to see your ex screaming at you

He grabs your ex's collar and drags them away from you threatening them in a low voice

After your ex leaves Jack settles besides you on the ground and pulls you into a silent hug

He never leaves your side the whole time that you two order take-out and even when you falls asleep

He didn't know why but he felt a sudden urge to see you and he knew why when he pulled up to see your ex's car

He rushed to your apartment, filling the doorway with a terrifying presence as he towered over your ex

After successfully scaring them off, he drops beside you and makes sure you're not injured

After that, he basically carries you around for the rest of the time you two are together and does his best to make you feel comfortable

Junker Queen

She was fuming when you texted her asking for help but she wasn't mad at you

Whoever made you feel scared was about to get thrown out a window

When she arrived at your house she made Gracie in hand when she opened the door

Two seconds flat and she scared your ex away

Once your ex was gone, she went over to you to make sure you were okay

She insisted you two stay inside together that night and (after fumbling with the TV remote) she puts on your favorite movie before cleaning up the mess your ex made

Widowmaker

She had no hesitation coming to help since she remembered the horror stories you told her about your ex

She might not be as strong or intimidating as the other people on this list, but she is not afraid to snipe/fight anyone in her way of helping you

So after scaring your ex off, she silently sits next to you, pulling you into her arms in order to comfort you

She promises that with her around she won't let your ex near you again

Jack Morrison x Y/N x Slightly Genji Shimada

Before you leave in the morning, you go to the door of Jack's room. When you take a deep breath and are about to knock on the door, the door opens automatically. You see Jack standing at the door as if he knew you would come. When you want to speak, he pulls you into the room and hugs you tightly.

"I'm gonna miss you so much." Jack said.

"You scared me, bastard Morrison." You said with a smile.

"If anything happens, you must call me as soon as possible. I will definitely be there." Jack said.

"I know. Thank you, Jack." You say.

Jack let go of you, and you stepped back a little. Suddenly, the atmosphere is so awkward that you feel inexplicably nervous. Jack was suddenly quiet and didn't say anything. You were nervous and wanted to leave the room quickly.

"Then I'll go first..." You're ready to leave the room.

"Wait a time." Jack pulls you.

"Ah? What are you doing?" You said nervously.

"You must miss me when you go there. Don't think about other men." Jack said.

"Don't say that! It's so embarrassing for me!" You blushed and said.

"Hahaha, then I won't talk about it. Ummmm......" Jack hesitated.

"What's the matter?" You are curious.

"Can I kiss you before you leave?" Jack said.

"Ah!?" You are shy to say.

Jack raised your chin and asked you to look at him. You know he's serious. You close your eyes. He knows that you won't refuse him. He kissed your forehead and then kissed your lips. Your breath is very close, and you two enjoy the kiss. You put your hand on his shoulder and pull it closer to make the kiss deeper. After kissing for a while, you two slowly retreated and looked at each other.

"Wow, it's very enthusiastic." Jack said flirtingly.

"Shut up, bastard Morrison. Goodbye!" You said nervously.

"When you come back, I will love you well." Jack put his thumb on your lips.

Your heart is pounding. Why your boss is so tempting!

"I'll go first. Goodbye!" You leave the room.

You pat your face with both hands, and after you calm down, you start to go to the starting point.

Samoa————

It's already evening when you arrive in Samoa. After you check in at the target hotel, you go back to your room to think about how to get close to that person. You change your clothes and go to the bar near the hotel and sit at the bar to observe people. You feel the breath of someone next to you. You look at the empty seat next to you and ask.

"Do you have anything to do with me?" You ask.

"Wow, you still found out." Sombra appeared.

" It's a woman's intuition. Come on, it's definitely not a trivial matter if you appear. " You say it directly to Sombra.

"That's smart! The taboo of the former Talon , how your job at Overwatch now? " Sombra said.

"Very good, I'm full of all three meals. So what's the matter?" You say.

"It's rare to see old friends. Aren't you happy? But I kindly advise you not to act rashly. Someone is watching you outside. " Sombra said.

"In that blue car is Widowmaker." You look at the car outside the window.

"That's smart! So you all know! It seems that you haven't regressed!" Sombra said with a laugh.

"Sombra, stop it." You calm down.

"Okay, okay, I surrendered and said. Your target is Eddy Swarn, right? " Sombra asked.

"Let me guess, Talon and Overwatch have the same goal?" You say.

"Yes, I hacked the transporter's system and found that there were a lot of gold and guns in it. Talon wants to get those. " Sombra said.

"So why are you looking for me?" You are curious.

"I'll give you information, Overwatch sends you to take action, which means that it's just a reconnaissance and hasn't planned to take action." Sombra said.

"You misunderstood. I don't just want information, I also want the transportation there. None of them will fall into the hands of Talon. " You say.

"Hahaha, it's horrible~." Sombra said.

"But I will think about your proposal, and I will contact you." You get up and leave.

You walk to the blue car and knock on the window of the main driver's seat. When the window came down, you saw Widowmaker looking at you, and you noticed a sniper rifle in the secondary seat.

"If i was you, I would have shot ." You say.

"You know, if I shoot your old lover Doomfist, he will kill me." Widowmaker said.

"Wow, he still misses the old love so much. He is so sweet. But I'll declare first that I'm single. " You say.

"You are so cruel." Widowmaker said.

"You misunderstood. I'm just kind to him. I don't mean anything else. He misunderstood me and I can't do anything." You said with a smile.

"Wow... Then I'm curious. Have you ever really loved anyone? A cunning woman like you is really good at pinching men's hearts. " Widowmaker said.

"I think you're praising me." You said with a smile.

"Don't forget that the reason why you can leave Talon alive is that you are protected by Doomfist." Widowmaker said.

"That's right. Please tell him thank you for me." You turn around and leave.

"She is still as difficult as ever." Sombra said.

"Ha ha, it's tricky." Widowmaker said.

You go back to the hotel and sit on the sofa thinking. This task actually collided with Talon. It seems that it can no longer be a simple investigation task. You call Jack immediately.

"Hello? Sweetheart. Have you arrived at Samoa? Jack asked.

"Yes, I have something urgent to report. It's about the task." You say.

"Say it." Jack replied.

"I met the people of Talon, and they are also in Samoa." You say.

"Holy shit.... Are you all right? What have they done to you? " Jack asked.

"I'm fine. I just got some information." You say.

"What information?" Jack asked.

"Talon's goal is also Eddy Swarn." You say.

"Fuck..." Jack said.

Having lived in the undercity of King’s Row for most of your life, you were far more accustomed to the dark than anyone should be. Light became unfamiliar when you were recruited into Talon; in just a short amount of time, you went from a thief to an assassin. Lurk, strike, then leave without a trace—that was how you were taught to carry out your missions. That was what your commanders expected of you. A swift slash from your blade then you’re back in the shadows, prowling the night from the rooftops.

Though you were also taught not to form any attachment or bonds, it was difficult to ignore how alone you were.

There was no camaraderie in Talon. All you had was yourself, and even then, you didn’t always trust your intuition. You couldn’t rely on Doomfist and Reyes out of fear, and you couldn’t rely on Widowmaker because she’d grown cold over the years. You had no one, and that was exacerbated in your last mission when you were presumed dead and thus abandoned.

You’d never felt more alone.

You supposed that was a fitting punishment for you. After all, you’d done the same thing to others countless of times, even those that were meant to be your loved ones. Where those people had hopes and dreams and love, the only thing you had was duty. With your failure in the last, there was nothing left. Bleeding out on the ground, you’d accepted that this was your retribution.

Dying alone, uncared for, unfound. 

You were within arm’s reach away from Death itself, but when you woke, you were no longer in the rubble. Instead, you were in what seemed to be a hospital room, all cleaned and bandaged up with countless tubes and wires attached to your body. And when she stepped in, you finally realised where you were—within the territory of those you were meant to eliminate.

Dr. Angela Ziegler had stepped in with a smile, pleased to see that you were conscious. You’d been out for weeks, she said. When you asked her if she knew who you were, she replied that she did, the smile never leaving her face. It confused you. Why would she go lengths to save an enemy? A threat?

Of course, you weren’t going to be let go that easily. Soldier: 76 came to interrogate you as soon as you were able to speak again. You had nothing left to lose. You were dead to Talon, and Overwatch could grant you the mercy that is death the moment you stopped being useful.

And just like that time amid the destruction, it never came. 

They’d given you a choice. A chance to live your own life, away and unaware from it all, or to join their ranks in helping the vulnerable. Neither was a good option. Even if you were freed, you didn’t have a place to go, or a place to call home. You thought you’d only be a burden as their agent as well. You weren’t trained for doing good. You were trained to kill, be a dog on a leash, not save the world. But there was a glimmer of hope deep within your chest. This was your chance of atonement.

After an arduous silence, you took it.

They had you start small, do light work while your body recovered. You assisted Mercy and Winston in the laboratory, helped Pharah take care of the firearms. Then, when the pain finally eased, you moved on to more strenuous tasks—aim training with D.Va, close combat with Brigitte. It frightened you how easily you seemed to fit into Overwatch, overwhelmingly so, and instinctively, you closed yourself off. You were expendable, just like you were to Talon. It was for your own good not to get close to anyone, no matter how friendly some of them were to you.

A part of you craved to be one of them. You wanted to return Tracer’s cheery smiles. You wanted to spend hours at the arcade with the younger agents. You craved for a semblance of friendship and normalcy, but that was a luxury you thought yourself undeserving of.

It was a quiet night, much like it had been on your last mission. The glow from the holograms illuminated the path as you made it to the training range. The headquarters was mostly asleep, but you weren’t one of them. Phantom pains in your chest kept you awake and hot flashes kept you from relaxing. You thought you could take your mind off of it if you were shooting at something. The moment of solitude didn’t last long; the cyborg ninja—Genji—slipped into the room, nearly scaring you out of your skin.

“You couldn’t sleep?”

“What do you think?” you replied dryly, cocking the gun again. “People like me aren’t meant to rest.”

He approached you, quietly watching you shoot down another target. 

“If it’s restitution or closure you want, you’re looking for the wrong person,” you stated. “I can’t help you get in touch with Reyes. I’m dead to them.”

“That is not what I’m here for.” He leaned against the wall and crossed his arms over his chest. “You… are different.”

You blinked, putting down the gun as you tried to process his words in confusion.

“There is much on your shoulders.”

“Not sure how that makes me different. Everyone has their own baggage.”

“You were made into a weapon, just like I was,” Genji said. “If it is atonement you seek—”

“Let’s spar,” you interrupted, wanting to divert the topic off of you. “You can’t sleep either, can you?”

He seemed surprised—as surprised as he could look, what with the metal plating on his entire body—at your offer. Loosening his shoulders, he nodded. There wasn’t much talking after that; only grunts and the sounds of movement could be heard, but your fists spoke more than a thousand words.

Things seemed to change for you after that. You felt less stiff, more… free. You felt lighter. Suddenly participating in group activities didn’t feel as daunting as it used to. You started to welcome the playful banter from other agents. Training with Genji also became a part of your routine. You weren’t the only one with burdens, you knew just from one look at him. It seemed to be a temporary solution—a refuge—for both of you. You found yourself letting your guard down around him, finding yourself more talkative than you used to be. 

He felt familiar. Where everyone was a stranger in Talon, those in Overwatch felt like a friend, even a family. You were veering into unfamiliar territory and it scared you witless. You could lose it all at any second. People like you were meant to be alone and someone else’s to command, but somehow, it felt different with them—with him.

You were friendlier to the other agents, sometimes more willing to tag along in D.Va’s antics, but Genji was something else. It was as if he understood you to your core, able to empathise with you easily. He’d only told you a little bit about his life, about the fateful duel between him and his brother, about his reconstruction. About how it had taken him a long time to be able to accept himself as he was and how you reminded him of who he was in the past.

In turn, you felt you were understanding him better as well. Eventually your time spent with Genji wasn’t limited to only sparring. You spent your time off sitting in comfortable silence with him as he polished his armour. Fighting alongside him was fun, exhilarating, and you felt more and more drawn to his presence.

A positive outcome would usually scare you. What if you lost everything right now? What if they all left you for dead, just like your previous comrades did? You told yourself it was an irrational concern and that you shouldn’t worry about the outcome, but the anxiety in your stomach kept growing. Still, it all seemed to melt away when you were with him. He was a kindred spirit, in a way. You felt seen and heard, like someone truly saw you for who you were instead of what, and it was more relieving than you’d expected.

You plopped yourself down on the floor, chest heaving as you tried to catch your breath. Genji, on the other hand, looked unaffected by the hours of sparring, leisurely standing in his spot.

“It’s so unfair,” you complained lightheartedly, “you’re more durable than I am. I feel like I’m running several marathons.”

He chuckled. “Perhaps we should train your endurance next.”

“You mean what Brigitte and Zarya are putting me through isn’t enough?” You raised your eyebrows. “Way to treat your friends, Genji.”

“We’re friends?”

Your blood ran cold and you paled. Were you moving too fast? You parted your lips, stammering for a bit. “Well, I mean… sorry, I just assumed—”

“I am happy to be your friend.”

“What?”

You could hear the smile in his voice. “It’s nice to see you be carefree. I was afraid you would break me when we first met.”

“You? Afraid?” You laughed and elbowed him softly. Relaxing your shoulders, you glanced back outside the window where the sky was painted in hues of blue and orange. “I don’t know. I guess it just feels new. You guys treat me like a person, not an asset. I didn’t get that treatment with Talon. For most of my life, I always thought I’d end up alone… Dying alone like I almost did that day.”

As he fell silent, you continued, “Thanks for being patient with me, Genji. You didn’t have to, but… You did, and I won’t forget that.”

“I feel we are more similar than we expected,” he said. “It was difficult for me to accept others’ kindness too, but it’s important for us.”

“Yeah,” you agreed quietly. “It really does change you, doesn’t it? I don’t remember the last time I felt this… comfortable with someone.” You glanced at him. “Do you really think I’ll absolve myself one day?”

“I do.” He turned his head towards you. “I myself am doing the same thing. We can walk down this path together.”

You smiled softly. “Yeah. We will.”

When you showed up one day he honestly didn't believe it at first

One you confirmed you weren't a ghost he pulled you into a hug and you could feel his tears dampen your shoulder

He begs you never to leave him again he doesn't know what he'd do without

He can barely process what's happening when the building blows up with you supposedly inside

Everyone else in panicking but Cassidy can't move and he's barely breathing

His mind is in utter turmoil for the next week or so as he tries to convince himself you're fine and probably just got lost or something

And once you come back you barely get a word out before you're tackled by Cassidy

He doesn't say anything just clings to you and takes in your warmth and familiar and comforting smell

Widowmaker

When the building blows up she stays silent and emotionless on the outside but inside she wants to just curl into a ball and cry

Over the next week, she becomes even more monotonous than normal and she never seems to be actually looking at anyone

When you return and walk into her room that's when the tears finally fall

She can't help it and doesn't want to let go when you hold her

Eventually you end up staying the night in her room so she can just hold you

Sombra

At first she was absolutely devastated and shut herself in her room alone

But when she started searching the internet she found records on you recently being treated for major injuries but more importantly you were alive

So she waits patiently for you to come back to the Talon base

When you do she gives you a knowing smile but doesn't spill your secret

Soldier 76

He doesn't say anything doesn't show any sort of emotion until the door to his room closes

He slides down the back of the door and quietly sobs into his hands

He can't believe he lost you

He barely sleeps because it feels to cold without you there

When you return he acts professionally in front of everyone else until you two are alone

You can hear the sobs in his throat as he speaks to you and tears start running down his face

Eventually he gives up trying to hold it together and accepts your embrace as he let's out all his tears

Junker Queen

After you 'die' she becomes much more irritable and does more work than what is deemed healthy

She's just trying to distract herself from having to go home to an empty house

She finds herself not sleeping simply because she can't without you there

So when you return and you and her are finally alone she grabs your shoulders and demands you never scare her like that again but her voice cracks near the end and she can't hold it together any longer

This is the first time you've ever seen her cry and she just holds you close to her as her shoulders shake
