NEWEST MUSE LIST 07-05
*** doubles as an interest check so like this and i'll cook up a starter! highly suggest specifying muse(s) for this one! i will be focusing on them more between drafts!
jackrabbit ‘ines ortiz’
Civilian occupation: hacker. Marked position: techie. Ability: body temperature manipulation. Part of The Marked ( lore here ). A bit too proficient with technology that’s starting to crosses over into biotech. Implemented a way for overseers to see health status of active members (and alerts healers when conditions are critical ). Likes to stir up shit just ‘cause. Doesn’t like talking about the past and doesn’t like to be alone.
rem ‘alon galvez’
Civilian occupation: hacker. Marked position: handler. Ability: hypnokinesis. Part of The Marked ( lore here ). Reborn to calmly knock everyone off their asses, forced to babysit most of the problem makers. Usually divvies out the more complicated hunts and helps newbies picking easier ones. The only person that can handle Ricochet. Has the vibe of smoking at least six cigarettes at the same time. Glossy shoulder length hair — no, you can't touch it. Isn't usually one for spite, but has induced chronic insomnia on people that have crossed him.
the unnamed
once a normal girl turned into a fragment of saul's liminal world. she spoke to an aspect of void and made a trade of names. thus, erasing hers while also being in ownership of the void's own. said void fused with her, stamping an archaic spiral symbol at the base of her throat and causes a never-ending hunger in her gut. her true form blurs into a soft darkness that tricks the eyes. only the feeling of fuzzy static comes from making contact with her. she dares not speak in fear that the void within her will consume parts of the other person like it had done to her. crime verse is pending.
bishop 'cain roth'
Civilian occupation: journalist. Marked position: scout. Ability: soul manipulation. Part of The Marked ( lore here ). One of the few that were exposed to the supernatural prior death. Keeps close tabs on the hunter group he was raised in and betrayed. Swears to hunt down the corrupt creature that granted his wish in trade of half his soul. Has to live with the repercussions of having reaped what he stupidly sowed. Tries to befriend the other Marked, but honestly doesn't hold it against them if he's disliked.
caesura 'chiru sato'
Civilian occupation: TBA. Marked position: wheelman. Ability: door manipulation. Part of The Marked ( lore here ). Flighty, little thing. Doubles as a honeypot for high threat hunts, but would much rather make a quick escape rather than fight. Almost always with a partner on any job. Arguably the most in tune with her emotions. Often sought out for deep conversations or quiet companionship.
soothsayer 'saraj cai' .
Civilian occupation: stenographer. Marked position: advisor. Part of The Marked ( lore here ). Mother of this local sect, does dote on pretty much all of The Marked but in her own semi-strict way, has prosthetic eyes, it’s ok to accidentally make a pun or two around her — she does it too ( no, the irony of of her saying ‘i see’ or being titled as an overseer isn’t lost on her ), prefers to use a cane, has her way on keeping tabs on everyone.
amant taylor boudreaux
just a guy that's been obsessed with harborview's happenings. he's dedicated his life to accurately detail not only it's citizens but also the mysterious people that return from the sea. is the author of the harborview codex. would 1000% try to get nasty with someone just to lowkey research them. brainrot on god ( aka oram, even if he doesn't know that weird soggy man is the sea god responsible for all sea creatures )

Note
Hey soggy man, it's Séra. Cay asked me relay some messages cause they're resting.
Kieran & Erika are gone
@researchercase
If you’re trying to organize a search party, I’m probably the worst person to ask.

A lot of places are named after historical events, battles, and people, so keep that in mind. God/Goddess names tied to your world also work well. Places are also often named after things that the area is known for, like Georgia being known for its peaches.
My brain was fried by the end of this so feel free to add more!
I hope you find this reference helpful and good luck world-building!

Rule The World | Prologue
CHARACTERS — Adrien X Chiron
CONTENT — Nothing to see here, yet.
PLOT — The introduction of Adrien and Chiron.
Inspired by the song, Cell Therapy X Goodie Mob.
NARRATIVE — The slouched figure sitting at the chipped table dominated the space of the midnight diner as groups of local college students whispered, waitresses winked and even the lingering prostitutes dared to glance at him instead of keeping a close eye on the brick of money resting between their fingers.
Disregarding the stares the deep earth-toned male aggressively scraped his fork against the aged plate as he chomped down on the soaked waffles and thin hash browns. Wearing a prominent scowl refusing to reveal his gaudy slugs or show any satisfaction from the breakfast filling his stomach Chiron stayed quiet as he ate. Concentrating on his food the silent man exhaled as the quiet night and almost dull scenery helped the tensed male forget about the adamant sins he had his team committing while he detoxed.
Taking away from his underlining stress the slow diner eased Chiron’s mind as the setting distracted him from the imprinted vision of wiping the crimson blood dripping from his glock while the deep aroma of coffee replaced the poignant smell of marijuana.
Drowning his thoughts with the bitter taste of coffee sliding down his throat Chiron exhaled and rolled his shoulders once he attained a level of content. A level where he could tolerate the punishing outcome from his ruthless decisions without being in an alternative state of mind. Clenching his teeth against the silver fork, Chiron chewed on his soggy waffles before he heard a distinct chime followed by an abrupt gasp echoing throughout the southern restaurant.
“—breaking news, there are reports of multiple gun shots fired at popular nightclub, Mansion Elon. We are now receiving word that we have channel 2’s Monice standing outside of the club right now.”
Silencing the diner within seconds Chiron turned his head towards the point of focus and stared silently at the television as the news reporter hinted at one of his intimidating tactics gone wrong.
“—yes, Vivian. I’m outside and as you can see from behind, the ambulance is here assisting those injured and the police have blocked the entrance to the club.
“—and as of right now we have learned that there were four gunmen involved and that there are two casualties reported at this moment.”
While he vaguely listened to the news Chiron quickly slid his vibrating phone out of his back pocket before unlocking the device with his thumbprint. Tapping on the lime icon he watched as the messages continued to vibrate his phone. “—shit.” Black exhaled roughly, before he continued to spit out harsh curses.
Attempting to get information about the coercion Black didn’t register the adamant bell of the diner’s door opening before the obnoxious clacking of heels and chatter filled the southern restaurant. Lifting his eyes off of the phone for a second Black quickly took notice of the mahogany beauty sitting at the barstool with her attention captured into her own phone. Clad in a black dress he observed the material stretching over her curves, but just as his eyes began to travel further down to glance at her plump ass his phone vibrated again with an update to the shakedown.
Immediately looking back at his phone Black read the latest messages from his second in command, Dolla before he abruptly felt his repressed mindset switch back into the murderous temperament.
The character that became completely enthralled with unloading a clip into someone’s child, the man that thrived off of the taste of the backwood hanging from between his lips and the individual who became enamored while he watched digital zeros appear and double up as money flipped through his machine.
With his heart thumping intensely in his ear Black abruptly stood up creating a loud screech as his chair slid across the faded tile. Disregarding the nosy looks shot his way the alarmed man reached into his wallet and threw down more than enough money to cover the bill before making his way around the table and heading towards the exit until the low revelations coming from the counter caught his attention.
“—bitch, I told y’all that nigga looked crazy. If we woulda dipped earlier like I said so we wouldn’t of had to duck from dem’ bullets in the club!”
Halting his footsteps Black listened to the women’s conversation before they absentmindedly confirmed that they were at the same club as the shooting.
Approaching the counter Black cleared his throat making his presence known as all four women talking instantly flicked their eyes towards him. “—we’re y’all at Mansion Elon tonight?” He questioned, as his eyes fixated on the angelic face of the brown beauty.
Hearing the studdering replies from the women until the one sitting closest to him timidly nodded Black began to press for information. “Did y’all just so happened to see who was the nigga shootin’?”
With the question lingering in the air Black watched as the women shared a puzzled look with each other before the anonymous beauty spoke. “Why should we tell you? So you can stalk us or toss our bodies into Lake Lanier or a dumpster? Nah, play boy.”
Cocking his head to the side Black watched as she bought her glass up to her lips with a smirk tugging at the corners. Keeping his eyes fixated on hers Black heard her friends apologize for her response, “Adrien can be critical at times, but we swear she doesn’t mean any harm.” they elaborated, making Adrien scoff at their apparent bullshit and bluff.
Watching her scrunched facial expressions Black chuckled lowly at her answer before slowly brushing his palm over her mouth. “No, babygirl here is right. Y’all don’t know me from a hole in the wall and I understand, so y’all be stay out here aight.”
Timidly shifting away from the countertop Black maintained his gaze with Adrien leaving her with a look of hesitant before he turned towards the door.
Only footsteps away from the entrance Black heard the annoyed tone of voice call out to him. Showing off a glimpse of his grillz he paused his movement before turning around and seeing Adrien swiveled around in her chair with a smug smile on her face.
Huffing out she began to detail the self-proclaimed shooter, “The man was wearing a tan shirt with these big ass rocks in his ears. Oh, and he had a baguette pinky ring.” She winked. Faltering in his footsteps Black was surprised that she knew her diamonds.
“How do you know it was a baguette?” He asked, hands still pressed against the handle. “I know my jewelry.” She smiled, before steadily licking the top row of her teeth showing off the small shiny gems.
Raising his eyebrows Black nodded his head in gratitude before yanking the door open and maneuvering through the second one.
Making Adrien frown, she watched as his broad shoulders bounce until his figure escaped the dim lights of the diner. Feeling herself began to wheeze from the loss of his presence Adrien let her curiosity get the best of her and before she could even blink she was fumbling out of her seat disregarding the calls of her girls and jogged out of the restaurant before spotting Black and calling out to him.
“—hey, you! Wait up.”
Watching the brawny back pivot around Adrien caught the amused look on his face before she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. “Ahh, now look who’s stalking who.” Black mocked, failing to hold back his grin. Poking her hip out in her stance Adrien scoffed before smacking her lips to say, “Nuh-huh don’t get smart with me baby, I just came to see what’s your name, damn.” She asked, with a tilt in her head.
Smirking at the agitated beauty Black chuckled in her face before saying, “Your cute.” before turning around and walking back to his all black nineteen seventy-eight Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme.
“Cute? Nigga I’m a dime, please.” Scrunching up her face Adrien flipped her ponytail behind her shoulders before twisting around. Walking off with the clapping of her heels hitting the pavement trailing behind her, Adrien heard the baritone voice answer, “Chiron.” making the brown woman instantly turn around.
Nodding her head she repeated his name before saying, “Hmm, I like it.” She cheesed. Still smirking she began walking backward as she continued to talk to the enticing man, “Aight, well I’ll catch you around Chiron.” She spoke, as her eyebrows quirked. Seeing the cocoa colored man faint dimples reappear under the hazy post light Adrien heard him call out, “—be safe out here babygirl.” before ducking into his car.

The Best Beach Bars in the Caribbean

Caribbean Beach Bars: Sunny Days and Lively Nights
Photo via Pexels
Beach bars are the epitome of the mellow Caribbean vibe, a distillation of sun, sand, rum, reggae, and the untamed personalities that make island life the best. Here's some of the Caribbean beach bars we think should be on your travel itinerary — heck, maybe even the point of your visit in the first place!

The Soggy Dollar, Jost Van Dyke, BVI
© Soggy Dollar Bar
For decades, BVI boaters have been wading ashore on Jost Van Dyke with pockets full of sodden cash to seek refreshment at the Soggy Dollar Bar, famous for inventing the Painkiller rum cocktail. Down a couple of these nutmeg-sprinked concoctions and suddenly that ring game either becomes a cinch or the biggest challenge since trigonometry, depending on how the buzz hits you. Best to grab a bite to eat while you are here (three meals are served daily), and if you overindulge you can ask about a room at the adjoining Sandcastle Hotel.

The Bomba Shack, Tortola, BVI
© Gail Frederick via Flickr
Constructed largely of driftwood and other odds and ends, the Bomba Shack is held together in part by a collection of donated bras, panties, and other “unmentionables” from guests past and present. Yes, this Tortola bar is an adults-only place, and the party really gets going on nights when the moon is full and Bomba's (possibly psychedelic) mushroom tea starts flowing. Rum, dancing, live bands and Bomba himself add to the fun.

Foxy’s, Jost Van Dyke, BVI
Many of the best Caribbean beach bars are named after their long-time proprietors, and that's the case with Foxy's on Jost Van Dyke, where owner Foxy Callwood is not only omnipresent but also provides the entertainment (on guitar and vocals) and concocts the libations (homemade rum and four varieties of microbrewed beer). Foxy's is famous for having the Caribbean's best New Year's Eve party (known as Old Year's here), but you can drink, dance, dine and lime at this British Virgin Islands bar anytime — but especially on weekends where they get their big barbecue going.

Cow Wreck Beach Bay, Anegada, BVI
© Cow Wreck Beach Bar
A shipwreck that spilled a load of cow bones onto this beach on Anegada gave the Cow Wreck Beach Bar it's unusual name, but that's hardly the only odd thing that's washed ashore to suck down a Cow Killer punch or three from the honor bar. This being the BVI, the beach of course is gorgeous, and the Cow Wreck may be one of the few bars in the world where you can go surfcasting and catch your own dinner (or keep it simple and order the delicious conch fritters or lobster). If you overindulge or just can't get up the will to depart, you can rent one of the Cow Wreck's oceanfront villas for the night.

Iggie’s, St. Thomas
© Bob Curley
Located next door to the Bolongo Bay resort, Iggie's is the best beach bar on St. Thomas and also quite convenient to the hotels of Charlotte Amalie. This is a bona-fide restaurant as well as a bar, featuring an excellent Caribbean buffet during the weekly Carnival night that includes moko jumbies, fire walkers, live calypso bands, and more. But Iggies' real claim to fame is that it hosts live music every night of the year, ranging from local acts to surprise guests like Stevie Wonder.

Sunshine’s, Nevis
Sunshine's is the most famous bar on the quiet island of Nevis, a focal point for local nightlife as well as a magnet for visitors, including those staying at the luxurious Four Seasons Nevis Resort next door. Sunshine's is far from posh — the main building houses a restaurant where you can plop onto a weatherbeaten couch and order a burger or some local fish, and there are several covered pavilions to provide shade when you want to sit closer to the water and sip on one of Sunshine's famous Killer Bees, a rum punch made with local moonshine. Have a few of these and you'll be sleeping on the beach — not a bad thing, since Pinney's Beach is Nevis' longest and prettiest stretch of sand.

Shiggidy Shack, St. Kitts
Frigate Bay in St. Kitts is home to a cluster of lively beach bars — all within walking distance of the St. Kitts Marriott Resort — but the most famous is Mr. X's Shiggidy Shack, known for its grilled lobster and lively mix of college students, expats, tourists and locals. The shack is open daily from 10 a.m. on, but heats up at night with a Thursday night bonfire, live music on Fridays, and karaoke on Saturday nights.

Le Petibonum, Martinique
© Bob Curley
Chef Guy Ferdinand — a.k.a. “Chef Hot Pants” — is the main attraction at the rare beach bar where the food, not the drinks, are the main draw. That's not to say that you can't get a good drink here: after all,Martinique is part of France, so of course the wine list is fabulous, and there's also local rhum agricole and Biere Lorriane to consider. But that's just a prelude to fine French dining on the beach, from escargot to filet mignon to the freshest local fish and lobster. All served under a simple canopy in the sand and just steps from the bar's private beach chairs, cabanas, and the crashing surf.

Sundowner’s, Roatan
© Sundowner's Beach Bar
People travel to the island of Roatan (off the coast of Honduras) to truly get away from it all, but when you want to get away from it all ON Roatan, you head to Sundowner's. Located on Half Moon Bay Beach on Roatan's West End, Sundowner's has most of the attributes you want in a beach bar: cheap drinks, good food, mellow waters, plenty of room to spread out to work on your tan, and character galore. Settle under a palapa and sip a frozen Monkey Lala while the sun sets over the Caribbean, surrounded by friends old and newly made, and you'll be channeling the true spirit of the islands.

Castaways, Antigua
© Castaway's Beach Bar
This Jolly Beach hot spot is known for its great burgers and sundowners after a day spent lolling in the sand. If you are an early beach person, Castaway's serves breakfast daily, and while you'll find plenty of Caribbean food on the menu, they also serve Chinese cuisine some nights. Take in the spectacular sunset and settle in for a laid-back evening of fun Antigua style, including the weekly Friday bonfire.

Da Conch Shack, Turks and Caicos
© Martin Lingnau, www.PenguinOne.com
Cracked conch is the speciality of the house at Da Conch Shack, a Turks and Caicos gathering place that has managed to maintain its authentic aura despite the rapid development of Providenciales in recent years. This Blue Hills Beach bar and restaurant serves a mean rum punch alongside off-the-boat fresh seafood — well worth the drive out to settle in on one of the picnic tables in the sand for lunch, dinner, or just people-watching with drink in hand.

Basil’s, Mustique
If you want a “see and be seen” experience in the Caribbean, head to St. Barts. But if you want a chance to rub elbows with celebrities where nobody really cares who you are, visit Basil Charles' laid-back beach bar on Mustique in the Grenadines, where everyone from Mick Jagger to members of Britain's royal family have come in for a toot over the years. The place may not get as wild as it did in its '70s heyday, but on the bright side the food has gotten better, and you can still drink and dance above the waves into the wee hours. The annual Mustique Blues Festival, held at Basil's and featuring performers like Julien Brunetaud, is the event of the year on this tiny, tony island.

The Dune Preserve, Anguilla
© Bankie Banx
Lots of beach bars have live music, but the Dune Preserve in Anguilla is one of the few in the Caribbean that qualifies as a bona fide concert venue. Owner Bankie Banx is a renowned reggae artist in his own right, and the annual Moonsplashcelebration brings in diverse acts from around the world. You can walk here from the CuisinArt resort (or after a round of golf at the neighboring Temenos course) and settle into the ramshackle, open-air bar and restaurant for a Duneshine or rum punch. If Bankie himself is performing there's a cover charge, but usually other entertainment is free.

This bright and cheerful beach bar in theOut Islands of the Bahamas is a wet and wild experience with two big beachside pools, a lively tiki bar, and hopping dance floor. The weekly (Sunday) pig roast is a can't miss, and if you're lucky you'll be in town for one of the semi-annual Barefoot Man concerts, a true “only in the island” happening where a local musician rounds up his buddies and thousands of fans flock to a tiny cay to hear the show.

The Pelican Bar, Treasure Beach, Jamaica
© Dubdem Sound System via Flickr
You can see the beach from the Pelican Bar — but from the water side, not the shore side. What may initially appear to be a pile of woody debris washed up on an offshore sandbar near Treasure Beach is in fact one of the most unique bars inJamaica. Call in your lobster lunch in advance, then hop onto a rickety boat for the short ride out to the bar, where owner Floyd will take a break from dominos to serve you some cold Red Stripes. You can mellow out on the dock or hop into the water (it's only a few feet deep around the bar) to do some snorkeling. Since you've made it out here, be sure to leave some memento of your visit on the walls — carved initials, a license place, articles of clothing …

Take the free ferry from the busy West Side of Grand Cayman to laid-back Rum Point, and the picnic tables at the Wreck Bar are as about as casual as it gets (other than the beach hammocks, of course). Want a break from all that Caribbean rum? Order one of the famous Wreck Bar mudslides to go along with the surprisingly sophisticated pub grub (there's a gourmet restaurant attached to the bar).

Elvis himself — OK, not the “Love Me Tender” one — tends bar at this popular beach bar in Sandy Ground. Elvis Beach Bar is appropriately built from an old boat, and Elvis' gets especially lively during NFL football games (there's a big screen TV to watch on). You can step out of the shade at the boat bar to the roof deck to work on your tan, Elvis' specialty rum punch in hand.
