i recently saw someone use the term "domestic sweetness" and i can't get it out of my head. i've been thinking about dancing in the kitchen. i had a dream where i was writing poetry, and it didn't make sense to anyone else; i said, "it doesn't make any sense to you now, but it makes so much sense to me. you'll understand later. it always starts that way." and i think that's how life goes, in general. nothing makes sense for a long time, but then all of a sudden it clicks and you understand why you couldn't end it all when you were 18. one day it makes sense that you're still here and you realize that you have always been worthy. the ache is still there some days, but it's not as heavy as it used to be. and you learn that love is the whole point. to love and to be kind is the whole purpose. i may not know what i'm doing, but i think i'm figuring it out. everything is okay. i finally feel alive.
