Can we talk about Sofia’s perspective in the relationship? She gets with his guy, who’s this charming, sweet man, but she can tell he’s hiding something. It is like he is wearing a different face around his friends to when he acts alone with her. And this boy has grisly rumours tied to his name and his legacy, but she doesn’t believe them because she’s fallen in love with him. He’s whisked her away into this kook fantasy, but he shies away from commitment. She’s his “friend” not girlfriend despite nearly two years of being together. But she gives him the benefit of the doubt time after time. But when he says she’s just a hookup, a pogue he wouldn’t live with, she thinks enough is enough and enacts her revenge. But that’s when he says he doesn’t care what she did, he wants to be with her unconditionally, and a weight is lifted off her shoulders. He’s told her to quit her job and move in– and she does. She loves him and he loves her. But then her fiancé, her future husband to be, calls her, his voice uncharacteristically callous. Groff told him about her involvement, her mistakes have come back to haunt her. She’s frozen, scared how Rafe will react. But then instead of talking with her, begging her to explain– he just ends it. “Pack your shit and get out of my house.” He’s never spoken like that to her before, so casually cruel. Then he ends the phone call, not letting her speak once, leaving her jobless, heartbroken and guilt-ridden. And the worst thing is, she thinks it’s deserved.

i stumbled upon the fandom wikipedia of outer banks, and they already added sofia as rafe's love interest, and apparently, she's going to be 16. and i know anyone can edit the wiki page and well, we are pretty much only feeding from rumors (or at least i do, haha) so who knows what's true and what is not. however, if sofia is really going to be 16, i feel like that's kinda icky... i mean rafe's almost 20. and i thank myself everyday that i wasn't confident enough to hit that 20-year-old kid up when i was 15-year-old, because looking back (now that i am twenty), i know that shit would have left me traumatized af.

As a 25 y/o, I feel like that 16-19 age group when it comes to dating is out of my range to have a strong opinion on. I literally see that whole group as age mates so while I do understand the ickiness with him being almost 20, I wouldn't bat an eyelash if I saw a 17 year old and 19 year old dating because to me they're in the same dating group and the jump between 16 and 17 isn't significant enough to me to categorize the two as wildly different in terms of maturity. In my mind you have younger teenagers and older teenagers and I think younger teens should date younger teens (13-15) and older teens should date older teens (16-19).
