Additionally, it is probably more effective if more folks blocked tags/users they don't like and/or find morally repugnant because it will dampen engagement on these tags.
If you don't want a bunch of shit u dont like always being constantly recommended to you on site algorithms, producing/supporting more content you DO ENJOY will help combat the shit u don't.
Btw this is just advice for ppl who want to do smth themselves about solving Shitty Feed Syndrome^TM. Ultimately, wider alienation/discourgement of either illicit or [to put it bluntly] Creepy-o shit would require systemic change in the form of stricter mainstream TOS for socials.
The whole line of "but if you kick them off of 'X' Social Media sites, then they'll just become more radicalized!" is a proven bs arguement. Its the same ones Nazis who're scared of deplatforming use bc it ALWAYS kills their careers.
You can't be offered multi-million dollar contracts doing minstral shows if you're not allowed on the platforms that most effectively propagate genocidal rhetorical. At most, your rumble show will get you the odd conservative coffee sponsorship.
The same logic applies here.
Modern fandom went awry when people stopped learning how to avoid content that upsets them and instead starting actively seeking it out.
I mean this in the kindest, most loving way possible, but babes you'll be so much happy when you stop focusing on what other people are doing and instead focus on what you like.
You'll never be able to stop people from liking what you hate, and the best way you'll find any peace of mind is properly utilizing blocking, blacklisting, and muting tools. Take it from someone who used to run a shipping discourse blog, fandom is supposed to be what you enjoy, stop focusing on things that upset you.
