it was @mrghostrat ‘s birthday and I don’t know them and they don’t know me but am such a huge huge fan of their work it has been incredibly inspiring and I was racking my brain on fanart and just couldn’t find the motivation at the moment but I did make a playlist for their fandom au fic (Big Name Feelings on ao3, it’s an absolute treat) and so that is my late birthday gift I hope everyone who listens likes it as much as I do, I’ll probably add more as the fic goes on okay I’m done rambling :’D

I'm just a bit younger than Carmen and George and I agree with you there is something about their pictures together that gives me the ick. It almost makes it feel as if they are recreating 'couple' pictures based off a description, there is something about it that just seems strange, I don't know. I get what you mean though about the pictures and the false impression it gives.

For me personally… and this applies to ANY couples photo on Instagram or social media, if neither person in the photo is holding the camera, there’s a 99% chance they’ve asked the person taking the photo to take that specific photo of them.

If you’re out with friends/family/anyone and two people you’re with are having an ‘intimate’ moment, I don’t think it’s in anyones first nature to pull a camera out and take a photo of it unprompted, so nearly all posts you see of any sort of ‘PDA’ are without a doubt staged. I think once you realise that, it’s hard not to see any of them as awkward, because they’re not natural?

As I say, I’m just a cynical person and I have a relative who is treading in influencer culture and so I’ve seen first hand just how different the realities of things can be to what makes it to the grid. It’s a type of content that just isn’t for me, because I just can’t take it seriously.

So, my favorite comedian after Bo (of course) is James Acaster. I actually had the privilege of seeing him live on Election night with @nicoleanell and @semivolatilegirl, and he was absolutely incredible and hilarious! 🙌🏼

If you haven't watched Repertoire on Netflix yet, I HIGHLY recommend it! He also has a special called Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999 that's on Vimeo—I consider Repertoire to be akin to what. and Cold Lasagne to be his Make Happy.

Anyway, he has a new book out now that I pre-ordered ages ago, and it finally arrived on my doorstep!

on the one hand I strongly feel it should be illegal for parents to post pictures of their children on social media.

on the other that way lays forbidding teens to post their own face on TikTok and I feel strongly against criminalizing young people for deciding things about their own bodies.

provisions such as "without the child's consent" are useless because a child accepting (or refusing) what their parent asks of them is meaningless, and because parents would lie and children would lie to protect their parents.

but DAMN do I think that it should be illegal to post pictures or videos of children on social media. Children have a right to privacy exactly like the rest of us.
