Toronto, Ontario (Sonique Solutions) – The diligent team at Epic Events, which is known for its seamless execution of corporate and multi-cultural productions, has once again delivered with the recent inaugural installation of ‘The Epic Lifestyle Event’. 

The Toronto-based event production company is highly regarded for raising the standard of how Caribbean & North-American events are viewed and delivered via its signature events ‘Friends & Family Out Back’ (FFOB) and the end of summer affair entitled ‘The Cooldown’.

The organization is also considered to be the go to collaborator for several local and international brands.

Epic Events kicked off the Canadian summer with a bang with its latest initiative which brought a unique, diverse event to the Durham Region of the Greater Toronto Area.

The Epic Lifestyle Event was geared towards promoting simple, practical and effective health and wellness lifestyles as well as all-round community engagement.

The outdoor event took place at the scenic Millennium Square at the Pickering Waterfront.

Even with less than sunny weather the lifestyle affair garnered an audience of eager participants and passers-by who were greeted to a variety of dynamic health and wellness showcases.

Attendees of the event were able to not only embrace exercise (in both the traditional and non-traditional senses) but also therapy, culture and dance via the assortment of breakout sessions.

Featured at the event were segments by professional instructors covering Yoga, Zumba, Cross Fit, Animal Flow (a ground-based movement program), Socasize, etc.

Keeping the atmosphere vibrant was the music and turntable talents of the event’s resident DJ.

  In true, distinct Epic fashion, the Lifestyle Event was preceded by a series of video segments which were aired on social media and featured the participating instructors.

This was used to engage viewers, create interest and promote community involvement through lifestyle tips and personal stories.

Epic Events’ Darryl Branker shared, “Our goal was to gather all the participants of the series, their clients, followers, supporters and community members at a diverse health and lifestyle event that fostered community participation. We certainly achieved this with the first edition and we look forward to growing even larger for 2020.”

What Programs to offer at your Dance Studio

Most Studios have a number of Dance programs to offer! Moving forward in starting up your own dance studio, you need to brainstorm what programs you would like to offer. Here is a list of programs you can offer at your dance studio:

Non – Recital Programs

Non-Recital Programs are 30 minutes to an hour of dancing per week. This program is ongoing, the instructor of the class will create a 2 minute routine by the end of the session. Pictures and costumes will not be included in this program because there will be no Recital. The routine created will not be performed. This program is great for beginners and participants who are often timid in front of large crowds

Recital Programs

Recital Programs are 45 minutes to an hour of dancing per week. This program is ongoing. The instructor of the class will create a 3 minute routine by the end of each session. Pictures and costumes will be included in this program as well as an “end of session” Recital. The routine created in the session will be performed at a theater that has been chosen by the owner of the studio. This program is excellent for new and experienced dancers who would like to build more confidence in the performing in front of large crowds.

Competitive Programs

Competitive Programs are 2 – 6 hours of dancing/training per week. This program is ongoing. The instructor of the class will choreograph 1 or more 3 minute routine by the end of each session. Pictures and costumes will be included in this program, as well as an “end of session” Recital. In this program the dancers will also compete at 3-5 Dance Competitions per session or season. This program is perfect for experienced confident dancers

Drop in programs and Workshops

Drop in and Workshops are one day programs that are not ongoing. Drop in classes and workshops can be 1-4 hours I length. In this program the participant will learn a style of dance during the given time frame, or participate in a dancing form of exercise.  These programs are paid for on entrance. Examples of workshops and Drop in programs would be: Zumba, Socasize, Mommy daughter Dance, and Father Daughter dance.

Last but not least!  You want to make sure that you also provide safety! Make sure the facility is safe for all types of dance and safe for all programs that will be provided within your dance studio. (Calhoun, 2016)
