LIKE !! they are so academically smart (academic weapons !!) with their scholarships and degrees and phds and promising futures that something as mundane as love is what stumps them??? i imagine their denial to be quite strong at the start, to the point where anything in mere relation to you sets them off. of course, you take this as him having a very strong dislike for you for whatever reason it is, and respond in kind to his perceived hostility.

this, unfortunately, only makes him even more confused. why are you ignoring him? no, actually, why are you picking a fight with him? it takes him a little while to actually come to terms with and accept the fact he fell for you, and he finds himself acting in ways unlike himself — most of which being the soft gazes, shy brushes of hands (when he feels particularly bold, that is), memorising your schedule for some "coincidental" meet-ups, etc.

personally, i just think that them being like this makes the confession after the asshole i mentioned last ask breaks your heart that much more !!! more !!!!!!! collapses. just imagine everything he bottled up, all the things he wrote down on paper only to scrap it and repeat time and time again in hopes of conveying his thoughts and feelings, finally coming to light as he spills his heart out to you in that dark, rainy night under that flickering lamppost, the rational possibility of catching a cold if you were to stay out here any longer having not appeared in his mind, for it is filled with only you, you, and you.

I have the best boyfriend. For my birthday, he got me the most beautiful card, and wrapped around the outside was this little plushie of two animals in winter clothes holding hands... ;_;.

And then he got me stuff from Lush (I fucking love Lush, ok), a really nice (and expensive) PERFUME AND LOTION SET AND IT'S GUCCI AND IT SMELLS LIKE HAPPY AND PRETTY AND ASDFSHJFKL. Some awesome stuff from Sephora. And then lots of my favourite chocolates.

Suffice to say: I am the luckiest gal ever. Seriously.
