It occurs to me that “in fairly neutral amounts of pain today” is a statement that probably should not be taken as the “overall, pretty good!” I intend it as, even if I suspect the person I said it to will.

#chronic pain #disability #like it’s a three? maybe four? and I had surgical incisions in the last month and a connective tissue disorder that mean it’ll heal slowly?#so you know by those standards it’s fine my PT is hypermobility trained he knows what we’re here for #but yeah the idea that people’s baseline level of pain is zero just sounds fake to me #how do you maintain bodily awareness without the constant background hum of minor aches?
