Tephra used lava plume!

Artfight piece for @leavingautumn13 ! I really wanted to paint her interpretation of Camerupt and Maxie, and it seemed only appropriate to place them on the slopes of Mt Chimney and add some volcanic flair (I'll take every chance to, you know I will). Mixed media, primarily acrylic inks and gouache, and a wee bit of coloured pencil.

#really had a lot of fun with this #I want to practice with adding backgrounds and painting full scenes #it's a lot harder and more time consuming but definitely rewarding when everything comes together #I wanted to make the lava more glowy but alas I couldn't get it quite right #probably would have had to save some of the white paper background there to get that glow naw well it's good enough #When I saw Autumn's drawings of camerupt a while back I just knew I wanted to draw one of those #so when she uploaded her version of Maxie with his team on artfight I started sketching immediately haha #traditional art #avanii's art #artfight #pokemon #fanart #team magma #camerupt
