They say that when you're giving a cat scritches, you should also take the opportunity to squoosh their pad paws, fiddle with their ears, make them do little dances, etc. to whatever extent they're willing to tolerate without distress, because working to build positive associations with being handled in this way will make medical examination and treatment much easier in the future. How fortunate, then, that this is exactly what 90% of cat owners are instinctively driven to do anyway.

'can we normalize this'
'we need to normalize that'
can you all shut the fuck up for a minute and reconsider how constantly demanding normalization only retrenches the moral position that weird = bad?
like no you're not actually going to be able to normalize a lot of stuff, because it's statistically unusual or aberrant. you can't normalize shit that is not by any definition normal.
what you need to do is fucking stand up for the weirdos, freaks, and deviants, and remind everyone who is normal that their position just makes them normal. not good, not right, not correct, not better, not perfect, not beyond reproach or improvement.
being weird isn't bad. stop normalizing that, already.

"How am I supposed to tell the difference between an autistic child asking for clarification and a defiant child challenging my authority?"
You're not.
Wanting to be treated like an authority is inherently harmful to autistic people. And that's true no matter how many autism textbooks you read.
When you expect someone to obey you, you're naturally going to look for ways to interpret everything as disobedience.
And when you misinterpret something, no one is going to correct you. Your autistic child will not know how to explain things to you because their autism makes explaining things difficult, because they're a child who never had the chance to figure out how to do that, and because they'll be punished for arguing if they phrase something wrong. Other adults will most likely also be authoritarian and will agree with you. Other children will most likely be afraid they'll get in trouble too if they don't stay out of it. And when no one corrects you, you'll naturally use that as evidence that you're right.

I genuinely think there was no greater insight into the modern Christian mindset than when the Pope said he very much hoped Hell was empty and he was absolutely hounded by both Catholics and Protestants outraged at the idea of a man who wanted a place of infinite suffering to have nobody in it.

My name is Mohammed Ayyad from Gaza. My wife, children and I were displaced quickly since the first days of the war on Gaza, leaving behind all our wealth and dreams. We are forced to leave our home and live in the south of Gaza, Rafah.
A few days after we left the house and went to the south (Rafah) we announce our tactics to our home with ease our beautiful next and destroyed everything we owned. Everything we had went with the wind, we are now working in hell (the tent) suffering one from collecting wood to cook food which is clearly difficult to produce from the water that was spread and is polluted by the cursed war and our work we lose our source of livelihood.
I became a desperate refugee and dug into a very small tent, without water and food life became horrible and sad with the disappearance of the need to survive. It is a struggle for survival.
Because of the continuous bombing and the difficulty of living with the high expectations our life is security our life is peace, we ask generous people to donate to service our planes. Our lives are threatened at any time, and everyone is exposed and death is not. We have never been safely moved to a place until war, and we have never lost our lives at any moment. Every little contribution counts, and your donation, small and big, makes an impact and helps improve safety and compatibility.

Please don’t skip 🍉🇵🇸
"I am Khawla from Gaza, 34 years old. I stand before you as a person trying to support her family of 5: Me, my husband, and my three children: Muhammad, who is 5 years old; Sham, who is 3 years old; and Ghazal, who is nearly a year and a half old. In our terrible conditions, My son Muhammad contracted hepatitis from drinking contaminated water, and both he and Sham are deprived of their right to register in kindergarten, daycare, or other educational institutions. Additionally, due to the circumstances and lack of income, necessary benefits like milk are not provided to baby Ghazal.🫂💙🥺
With that, my husband's livelihood ha been completely destroyed since we are no longer entitled to work; and we expect to live under miserable conditions in tents in Mawasi Khan Yunis. It is difficult for me to find the words to describe what we face every day in Gaza; with no food, no medicine, no clean drinking water; with oppression, helplessness, psychological pressures, doubts, and daily traumas caused by everything around us and inability to care for loved ones. the fear of danger, disease and death never leaves us🍉🫶
Now, I find myself in this difficult situation, and humbly ask for your help to save the lives of my family, especially my children, by getting us out of Gaza or helping us have money for medication or other necessities we may have access to. Asking for help is not easy, but we were left with no choice because we want to survive and we strive to rebuild our broken lives. We are very grateful for any help you can provide, no matter how small, as your help will contribute greatly to alleviating our suffering. I hope you will share my story with your family and friends."🍉🍉💙🇵🇸🇵🇸

Urgent Appeal: Help My Family Before the New Year
My name is Ahmed, and I am asking for your help. My family – my parents, brothers, and sons – are in a desperate situation after our home was destroyed in an airstrike in Gaza. We are now sheltering in a flimsy tent, exposed to the cold and rain, with no food, clothing, or shelter to survive the coming days.
My sister-in-law is nine months pregnant and is severely malnourished and anemic. She is weak and vulnerable, and we have nothing to prepare for the baby due in a few days.
We urgently need to raise $15,000 by the beginning of the new year to provide us with the basics: food, warmth, and a safe place to stay.
Your support, no matter how small, can make a life-changing difference. Together, you can help my family and start the new year with hope and dignity.
To donate:
Your kindness today may bring us safety, warmth, and a chance to heal.

A Story of Struggle: A Mother’s Battle in the Time of War and Displacement
In a life filled with pain and oppression 😔, in a time that has taken everything from us 💔, we were forced to flee our home 🏚️, leaving behind our memories and sense of safety 🥀. Now, we find ourselves facing a new reality full of endless challenges 😓. Amidst all this, my wife stands like a rock 🪨, defying the harsh winds 🌬️, turning pain into strength 💪, and ashes into hope 🌟.
She sits in front of a handmade clay oven 🍞, in a simple place that doesn't protect us from the cold ❄️ or heat 🌞, baking bread for us with patience and love 🧡. Despite the harsh conditions 😣, and the war that has destroyed our dreams 💥, she continues to fight to provide for our children 👶👦👧. Her hands, worn out by hard labor 🖐️, have never stopped giving 💖, carrying in every loaf a story of endurance 💪, struggle 🌱, and renewed hope 🌈.
These photos are not just fleeting moments 📸 — they are a testament to the daily suffering we endure 🥺, and to the strength of a woman who bears more than she can handle just to keep her family alive amidst all this devastation 💔.
sorrow 😔, but also with faith that kindness still exists in this world ✨. We are in desperate need of your help 🤲, of someone to stand by us in this ordeal 😞, someone to lighten the burden of this life that weighs us down 🏋️♀️. Any support, no matter how small 🥺, will have a huge impact on our lives and bring hope back to our hearts 💖.
May these words reach those who have compassion and humanity in their hearts 🌍💓. Help us continue to live 🌱. Be our support in these harsh days 🙏.

Dear Kind Soul,
Life has a way of testing us, and for me and my family, it’s been a test of survival. As we navigate the aftermath of a devastating war, our world has been reduced to uncertainty, cold nights, and endless struggles to find stability.
I’m Ghazi Al Amoudi, and I’m reaching out to you not for luxuries or dreams, but for the most basic human needs—safety, shelter, and hope for a better future.
Due to unforeseen issues, I had to pause my previous GoFundMe campaign and create a new one to ensure all support reaches us without any obstacles.
Here’s the previous link (now paused) And here’s the new link, where you can continue supporting us
Our goal remains €70,000. Thanks to incredible generosity, we’ve raised €3,957 so far—almost 6% of the way. But with €66,000 still needed, we have a long road ahead.
Your support, no matter how small, could mean the world to us:
A €10 donation can help provide clean water for a day.
A €20 donation could bring warmth to our freezing nights.
A simple share of our story could connect us with someone who can help.
🌟 Please join us in this journey of hope: Donate here
Each day, your compassion keeps us going. Your kindness is not just a donation—it’s a lifeline, a promise that better days are possible.
Thank you for being a beacon of hope in our darkest moments. Together, we can turn despair into possibility.
Almost 6% of my long-term goal Reached!
€3,957 out of €70,000

⏹️ Hello,, I hope you are well.
🔹Unfortunately, gfm deleted my campaign for the second time, and I created a new campaign on chuffed.
🔹 A feeling of helplessness, cold, illness, pain, and fear of tomorrow. I do not know how to describe the condition to you, but it is oppression in the truest sense of the word.
🔹What I ask of you is to stand by us in this difficult time in which we are exposed to all kinds of danger.
📍 Every support makes a difference, and if you can't, share.
✅ My campaign is No. 219 in Hussein's document.

Hello friends, supporters, and EveryTumblr, Today I have tragic news I want to share with you. We started our day with new evacuation orders for our displacement area 💔 This will be the 13th time of evacuating and fleeing from a real danger with my family, and everytime is harder than the previous one I almost can take my breaths, to bear a new displacement!!! Even the tents are worn out and cannot be dismantled and installed in a new place!! I really feel suffocated from this situation, and need your support to start over in a new place I appeal to the whole world to hear my and my family's mournful cry in Gaza. We need the helping hand that reaches out to wipe our tears and build a bridge to safety
We are really tired. I am making a great effort to convey my voice to you, and your donation is not a simple thing, it is a chance of new survival for my family Amplify me by reblogging and donate if you can, please 🙏🏻

This is a very fun fact! I didn't realize all of this was known/found out about his jacket, & I also didn't know other companies started making this style.
Thank you so much for sharing your insights!
There's a new thrift store that opened up near where I live, so I went to check it out today. It didn't have a lot of stuff since it's so new, but I did find a few things that were really cheap & cool.
As I'm heading to the register, the sleeve of a jacket caught my eye, & when I pulled it off the rack to look at it, I nearly SCREAMED because:
It looks almost EXACTLY like II's old jacket!!!
I'm still in total disbelief guys, like how tf?? Unfortunately, there's no label or brand name on it (it just has a super small tag that says the size on the inside), so I have no clue who made it, but it's so similar to II's I'm betting it's the same company.
And the most insane part: it was only $5! Obviously I had to buy it at that point, & it looks absolutely bitchin' on. I have no clue where or how often I'll wear it, but I couldn't pass it up
