Has Omega ever been hacked into before?

In the span of his short life in the story? No, the little guy has only been online for a couple months at this point. Though I'm sure Donnie went through EXTENSIVE testing to make sure that he could not be easily hacked by either the Krang or the last of the human settlements. It's likely he did simulations with Stockboy in the early stages of Omega's creation to be sure.

Aside from Donnie himself, there was only one other person who might have had the skill to hack into Omega, but they're long gone now.

Jinloe dropped the teaser for their Thai adaptation of Addicted Heroin... and as someone who's neither read the novel nor watched any of the other adaptations* I actually think it's surprisingly good? I'm keeping an open mind and I'll at least check it out.

*well ok, I watched the first adaptation but it didn't really leave much of an impression.

Necromunda time! Now that I've tried out my Cawdor gang and I have a better understanding of how they work, I decided to go back to my Skaven-Cawdor backlog and build more models for the rest of my gang. A lot of the bits I had were from an ebay lot, including a bunch of the Cawdor bodies made out of resin??? I think that's how you would get them if you ordered them on Forge World way back when. I've been dreading building them since resin just sucks to work with but I'm motivated and I didn't want to buy more models.

The resin bits lot is kinda cool because this combat shotgun isn't in the plastic upgrade sprue, and I just love the bayonet strapped to it.

That ebay lot also had a bunch of Cawdor Redemptionist bits, but no bodies, so I took the opportunity to convert them with the extra resin bodies I have. I'm pretty happy with how these guys came out.

Especially this guy! Love that flamethrower chainsaw!

While I was working on these guys, I went back and updated some of my older models. I updated my Cawdor leader to have a Greatsword, and I gave him a crusty bolter and bolt pistol from my Death Guard bits. I also gave him a nice pile of trash and candles for him to stand on.

I also updated one of my Gangers into a Specialist with Long Rifle. And I gave him the most important addition ever, I put a little Rat on his shoulder to help him spot enemies. This is some of the tiniest sculpting I've ever done to give him a little rat paw!

These are only a handful of my Cawdor models, I have another 20+ Gangers but I'm not taking pictures of all of them. Now that they're all built, I can try painting them again!

Also shoutouts to @thewenglishwarlock, they also made a Skaven-Cawdor gang that looks beautiful! It's been super inspiring, be sure to check out all of their painted minis, they're great!

some DA F/F crackships I have Contemplated:

Josephine/Minaeve. Cooped up together in that small, cold office in Haven, two women from completely different worlds. Minaeve a bit skittish and defensive, just wanting to protect the sliver of her world she has left. Josephine, curious and gentle but out of her depth, cognizant of her lofty point of view but never having really challenged it. Slow burn territory, + angst and/or hurt/comfort if Minaeve is injured or killed in the attack on Haven

Svarah Sun-Hair/Celene. Pure thirst ship tbh BUT! Consider a second draft of Svarah's bumbling abandoned letter addressed to Orlesian merchants, a solo-ruling Celene trying to strike a trade deal for those furs and leathers and getting a lot more than she bargained for. A demonstration? Many possibilities + the the duality of woman leadership and freedom and whatnot. Extremely For Me

Briala/Merrill. Aside from the Eluvian connection, Briala looking to recruit the Dalish elf who stands for the alienage in Kirkwall into her spy network could be a thing. Do I think they would actually get along? No, but it'd be one hell of a rebound (rivalmance?), with Briala having freshly dumped Celene and if Merrill is still pining for Hawke

Harding/Charter. Cool that this is somewhat torpedoed by Charter having a girlfriend in the comics, but these two growing close over long scout-spy expeditions together... it's real. It's cold out there in the field! Bring back the Blanket Scenario 2k24!

Harding/Maryden. It would just be cute and like. Maryden could teach Harding to play, Harding could teach Maryden to dance... you see

Calpernia/Vivienne. I have not been granted a clear vision of what exactly is swirling in my brain for this, but *touches gently* something's in there

What is it that the Rat Grinders actually want exactly? Or at least, what does Kipperlilly want since she's the one we know the most about.

At the top of the season it seemed like she wanted to Be The Best at school and Be Recognized in a very Tracy Flick/Sara Berry kind of way and was just going to crazy lengths to get there because this is a world where you help a dragon kidnap girls so you can be Prom Queen and life goes on. But now we know that the Rat Grinders are a part of Porter's larger plan and one of the major steps of that plan is completely abolishing Aguefort as an institution.

It's clear what Porter gets out of this. He gets to be a god and he gets to continue his imperialistic family legacy. And I would maybe get what Kipperlilly would get out of this is she were the Cleric/Paladin of the plan. She'd get to be the new god's champion, like she was gushing to Lucy. That's maybe worth something to an achievement hunting, Type A individual.

But she's not gonna get to be the best student at Aguefort if Aguefort doesn't exist anymore. Hell, Elmville won't really exist anymore. Is Porter planning on opening a new Adventuring School in Rage Elmville and she gets to be the god Principal's pet? Does she think he's gonna make things "fair" for her somehow? How? Retroactively killing her parents? Does she want to use the powers she cheesed from the easy XP he drip fed her to be a renown adventurer? Kinda hard to pull that off when everyone knows you were part of the plan that doomed the town. Maybe she thought they were going to get away with it without being implicated? Does she literally not want anything other than a chance to kill the Bad Kids? Or even pettier, to just to be stronger than Riz? Is that worth it to her? To damn the whole town just so she can say that she beat Riz once? Did she want something concrete at one point but at this point she's just lost in the sauce and doing whatever the next task is without knowing what she'd even do with a victory if she got it? Did she already get what she wanted in the free XP and now she's just paying her end of the bargain?

I'm just very unsure about what her version of a happy ending is here.

Inspiration Saturday 🍂

I frankly don't think that I can finish this one before the new season airs and in that case it might just get scrapped entirely (because of new wips and changing canon events) but I hope I get around it before that, because it would be such a great exploration of characters and just an abundant source for angst and fluff and eternal domesticity. Anyway, here's a snippet that'll probably be heavily revised later on if I actually end up working on this.

Buck got up abruptly and started pacing up and down, covering the tiny length of Eddie’s kitchen two strides at a time. “Buck, calm down.” Eddie rose from his chair, his eyes following Buck’s every step with concern. “What the hell am I even gonna tell him when he asks about his parents? How do I explain any of it?” “Woah Buck, slow down there, he can’t even talk yet, let alone ask questions. You’ll have plenty of time to think about that.” Eddie put a hand onto Buck’s forearm, halting his movements just by the table, then he guided Buck back down to his chair with gentle force. The warm tips of Eddie’s fingers were a solid comfort over Buck’s stress-cold skin as he squeezed his arm lightly, leaving goosebumps in their wake. “I-I’m sorry.” Buck sighed. If he was apologizing for flipping out just a moment ago or for bringing this to Eddie in the first place; even he wasn’t entirely sure. “Look, I get that this wasn’t the plan when you decided to help them,” Buck opened his mouth to cut in but Eddie pressed on, “but this is what’s happening now. So you’re just gonna have to take it slow and deal with it one thing at a time. Okay?” “I… Okay.” Buck closed his eyes in defeat, desperately hoping that when he opened them the next time, he’d find the strength he needed to go through today; though he was aware that the chances of that were slim to none. But funnily enough, when he finally opened his eyes and his gaze landed on Eddie’s face, something shifted. Eddie was looking at Buck with an expression that told him everything he needed to hear without words, his eyes were glimmering like amber in the bright morning light and the creases between his eyebrows seemed softer than before. Eddie was the embodiment of everything Buck ever wanted and needed — and in remembering that, suddenly the sight of him was enough to find the strength Buck was looking for.

Look, I don't know much about how these "get X notes and I'll do Y" posts are considered on here, or how likely it is I'll get any notes at all, but what I do know is I need a push to do this, so:

I got my brother into reading rote and he's devouring the last fifty pages of Royal Assassin right now. He calls me everyday to talk about the books and it's so fun to relive them through another set of eyes. He's convinced Chivalry was Witted. He said Burrich reminded him of a dog right from the get-go, and thought the Fool was sided with Regal. He also thinks Molly left Fitz for another man when she said she had something bigger than her to care for.
