Dedicating an entire chapter to things surrounding Maester Walys only to find out that according to the wiki he was already dead by this time. Oh im going to scream so loudly, you wouldn’t even believe
#sorry for minor spoiler but this has changed my life for the worse lately#I CANNOT GET WINTERFELL’S MAESTER SITUATION TOGETHER#so walys died before or during 283 and luwin was his successor#and luwin assisted during robb’s birth down in riverrun in 283#why was Luwin down in Riverrun if he was already Winterfell’s maester#ned had no reason to bring his maester south when he went to war as that would leave winterfell without one and that would just be stupid#because the castle and the north still need to be operated as usual since no battles took place there#WHO’S GOING TO KEEP TRACK OF TEMPERATURE AND WEATHER CHANGES TO DETERMINE WHAT CROPS TO GROW??? BENJEN???#why would he bring his maester south and leave him in riverrun? riverrun already had a maester#and if luwin was not yet winterfell’s maester why was he in riverrun as maester and later went to winterfell? grrm answer me im going insane#so anyway something happened in this au that made walys live longer. ned and cat meeting in harrenhal changed something for him :)#if someone has answers please i need them
