All the Valois are catpeople because most of history didn't have the option of interbreeding, just coexisting. Something something sterile hybrids because chromosomes.

"Most of history" because recently they scienced up ways to get around it, so there are catperson/human hybrids, like Gil and Zeetha (Klaus is human, Zanta is not).

Klaus is kinda glad Gil has cat ears bc this makes people automatically assume he can’t be the dad even if they realize it’s technically possible.

This means Agatha gets her boys.

The human (Lars), the hybrid (Gil), and the cat (Tarvek).

Anevka's initial robot body doesn't have the cat features just due to the fact that Tarvek was aiming for Bare Minimum, and then when he added them in later she decided she liked being able to pick when she had them.

Alex helped me through the screen when I fell off my bike (yes haha, a 21-year-old one took the wrong brake) and I try to make it work when she's busy with uni but we have a shift. So I think we're a great team and that's why I picked this au.

Also, I adore her so much, I probably expressed that once in a gc already but I'm saying it again.

Ten, the master that learned Renjun how to portray his muse, is now standing next to Émi, the young woman returning in each painting of Ten. Never had they stood next to each other: artist and muse. Never had they consciously smiled at each other. Never had they been real. Until now. Immortalised on the canvas, Ten hugs his Émi, they might both be droplets of paint with a shadow, but behind the canvas Renjun bids farewell to his last painting. Why: because Émi and Renjun are both my muses in life and writing, creatively but also in daily things. I proclaim my love for Émi a lot but that never takes away how genuine it is, because I genuinely love her and sometimes it seems so surreal that she's in my life. Sometimes I'm afraid that she's a dot, a droplet of paint that will fade by time until I have no more remains of her. But however long we have left, I will cherish and love her each day just like she loves Ten (isn't that a sad love story, I literally cried for like five minutes after this 😂)

would def do the most just to upgrade all of his items but he’d do that just so he can fly everywhere and move faster. yes he would want to use his glider everywhere even when he doesn’t need to use it he uses it.

skipping over the part where she almost tried everything from arts, music etc. she finally found her passion ( and even roxy herself was surprised ). figure skating. she didn’t know what drew her in, she couldn’t explain it, she tried it and it felt right. roxy always describes the feeling as finding a soulmate if she feels extra dramatic that day. 

unsurprisingly, she was good at it. not that kind of good at something she was at all the other things she tried before, but that being good at which stemmed from genuine interest. maybe, that is why she managed to get so far. and it didn’t take too long that people even started to call her a figure skating prodigy. 

at this point at her life, she had it all, spinning the stars on her fingertips ( or warning bad pun ahead: spinning on the ice ). until, well, her parents company was in some crisis and they had to cut corners in the meantime. also oh so ‘conveniently’ roxy lived at the arse end of nowhere and getting to her practices was now even more difficult because as mentioned before they had to save their money for more necessary things. of course, there were more things , small and big, which totally threw her off ( which i am too lazy to list rn).

roxy tried to work part time, but a) the money wasn’t enough b) she didn’t want to cut more hours of training she managed to get. AND well, here comes the turning point and roxy thinking she was oh-so-smart without realizing that it would cost her career. oh-so-smart roxy came up with the idea to , well, just steal some stuff. after all, she trained with many other wealthy peers and she could just sell off their stuff or something. 

at the beginning she only did it to afford certain things she needed, but soon it somehow became an addiction. she felt in control when everyone else in her life was an utter mess. however, the more she took things away from others the more she felt comfortable, doing it more often and sometimes taking things which weren’t even worth that much. it was only a matter of time until she was caught. and as if she was lucky for too long, the person who caught her pressured her into either giving them a hefty sum of money (which she didn’t have) or to quit figure skating. she decided for the latter.

well, here she was and her sudden departure was quite a shock. but she had no choice and stated it was for personal reasons. 

skipping over her being devastated over it, etc. her parents managed to save their company (whatever this company is) but at this point it was already too late and roxy was accepted into holloway.

okay i’ll keep this short bcs i wrote way too much for her background story. but to sum it up, roxy kind of has that perfect girl facade.  considering how many friends roxy has and how social she appears to be it is odd that no one seems to be able to describe her.  roxy doesn’t want people to know who she truly is, and she keeps her distance as she actively avoids conflicts that might cause her to say something wrong and exposes herself. 

she shields her feelings by only presenting polished version of herself, the facade of the perfect girl: kind, hard-working and polite. someone whose life is easy and someone who looks like she doesn’t have any worries. it doesn’t mean she isn’t anything of that, but it’s not as if her kindness has no bounds or that she doesn’t need to put effort into the things she does. nevertheless, she believes that she must be perfect in order to make people like her. and while, she is pretty good at masking her emotions and smile along, as soon as someone threatens to see past the illusion, she will become defensive and won’t hesitate to lie in order to preserve it.

best friends: although roxy pretty much keeps her distance from everyone else, this person had always stood by her side. maybe they knew about roxy’s sudden wannabe-thief phase ( which she is still in ) and well tried to talk her out of it ( which obviously didn’t work ). also adding some drama here and maybe they had a big argument over it and distanced from each othr because of it. however, my angst ass doesn’t want to ruin it and they’ll rekindle their friendship. they might meet again at holloway and it’s awkward at first, maybe they even have some arguments but they’ll get over it because everyone loves a good rekindled friendship story.

annoyance: someone who gets under roxy’s skin.seeing past the perfect girl face and constantly calling her out on it. maybe they just have fun annoying her and want to see what she really likes or they just don’t like roxy , thinking that beneath all of this act, she is a really unpleasant person. perhaps, they’re even doing it with good intentions and want to show her that she doesn’t need to hide who she is. whatever it is, they’re determined to expose to the world who she really is.

She can easily lose her sense of self this way, especially if she feels like she’s emotionally dissatisfied with something no matter what she does about it. 

Having a Libra moon can be very beneficial for someone, especially in an artistry career. With a Sun in Leo and Moon in Gemini there’s a need for performance and self-expression in entertaining people. There’s also a sense of accomplishment in connecting to others around her and learning/striving to grow bigger through her network and performances. 

Leo Sun natives can be shy, but there’s a sense of honorability to them that’s ingrained in their self-confidence. They sway people through just being themselves, and often people look up to them and respect them for standing up for themselves/others no matter the circumstances.

Bomi’s Leo Sun is particularly fiery considering it’s co-ruled by Mars/Aries. Unlike typical Leo Sun natives, Bomi’s much quicker to react to situation and often uses her influences to help those around her as well. If something is not to her standard/wrong she’ll immediately bring it up to attention and confront the situation. 

Aries decan doesn’t like leaving things to ‘later’ -- they’d rather confront it now and often instigate activities between people around them. They’re the type to see a messy situation and go ‘ok, let’s handle this’ and gather everyone around them to see how to solve the problem.

Gemini moons are communicative, and although they can have short attention span they are often very entertaining to be around. Since her Moon is fueling her Sun, her ability to communicate rapidly with multiple groups of people and come across harmoniously (Venus influence) amplifies her self-confidence and sense of self-expression (Leo Sun) -- she can tend to be a bit more competitive because everything in her chart is so reactive. 

When air fuels the fire, the flame rises higher until it burns something. Bomi has to watch out that her sense of self-confidence doesn’t switch from Leo/Sun to Mars/Aries and that she doesn’t overdo the very delicate balance between Venus/Mars she has going on right now since her emotional response/coming across well can’t save her every time when her sun is involved.

Gemini moons also have a sense of not exactly knowing who they are inside since they’re rapidly moving from one group to another all the time.

She has an amazing Leo Sun AND Moon in 3rd Decan. God knows she probably fights with Bomi alot, since they’re so amazingly similar. 

Since her Sun and Moon is ruled by Leo, her sense of self is exemplified, she feels the most comfortable on stage when she can perform and give it her best shot. Rather than just acting or varieties, Eunji truly loves performing and singing. 

She’s highly competitive as well, since they’re co-ruled by Mars/Aries. There’s this childish energy about her that endears the other members to her, her sense of self is so expressive and full of confidence it’s impossible not to like her.

Since her sun is also in her moon, they’re intimately linked towards one another. Leo Moon can tend to be abit more reserved, and they show the lighter trait of Leo Suns. 

They’re sensitive people, who often gets their feelings hurt when others close to them criticize their integrity and sense of self-expression. They just want to make other people happy, and when they can’t they’re much harder on themselves than they are on others.

God her beauty is understated, even with all the gossip about plastic surgery going around, Naeun’s chart has always had that emphasis on Venusian quality tied to her sense of self, so whether she choose to do it or not, it’s completely benefiting her anyways and if it makes her feel more comfortable with herself? That’s great!

In fact let’s just chat about this controversy for a little bit. Naeun has her Aquarius sun in the 3rd decan which is ruled by Libra/Venus. Although she has a unique look about her, an independent and strong women who takes pride in her individuality and freedom of self-expression. She has a keen sense on style and aesthetic that fits her. She knows what’s good for her. And often times, it’s not going to follow the trend. If she did have plastic surgery, it would’ve been contemplated over many times. Because if there’s anything an Aquarius hates more than anything it’s following the trend and being stamped as looking the ‘same as everyone else’. Naeun choosing to do it, she would’ve had full control and artistic direction on what exactly she wants and how it’s going to enhance her. It would’ve been progressive, she took a trope of looking exactly alike and flipped it on it’s head. And the result? Well the public fucking loves it. No matter what kind of press is happening, Naeun’s decision (IF she did the plastic surgery at all-- which to be fair? it’s not a big deal?) ultimately resulted in multiple people falling head over heels for her. That’s some fucking strong Aquarius/Libra influence right there.

She knows herself so fucking well it’s amazing. Aquarius are progressive thinkers, and she shows this. Outdated ideas just doesn’t have a place in her life, and if she could have it her way, in no ones life at all. 

She’s so freeing to be around because she just stick it to the patriarchy, personal or social conditioning is lost on her once she fully realized her Aquarius potential. She could be a beauty queen, but why would she put herself in the box when she can be so much more? Gosh, she’s part of the reason why Apink probably survived to this day honestly. 

With her moon in observant, she’s really fucking smart. Especially since it’s working in tandem with Mercury/Gemini (2nd Decan) -- she can easily let her feelings/opinions be heard and accepted by a large variety of people. 

Air moons needs a lot of mental stimuli, particularly inside of themselves (Aquarius Moon) and then from the people around them (Gemini Decan) it becomes a cycle that they use to inform their ideas. Instead of being more in-tune with her emotions, she tends to have a harder time even slowing down to think about how she feels at all.

Unlike Libra’s influence that often knows how they feel compared to Gemini/Aquarius counterpart, Naeun probably has to sit down and think about how she feels for a few days before she can even begin to properly form sentences to describe what it is she’s feeling if at all. It can be taxing for reactive signs like Eunji or emotional sign like Chorong to deal with this-- but since all the members have such strong Fire-Air going for them, it’s most likely that the mood of the team usually isn’t so dependent on heavier substantial emotional talks between the members. 

It’s very action oriented, and socially oriented. She’s very good at getting people to help her or understand what she wants. 

Naeun probably uses her Aquarius influence on alot of things, mostly Aquarius energy can be as determined as Eunji or Bomi. But unlike how competitive they are, Naeun’s Aquarius is so fixed and argumentative it probably won’t back down from an argument unless she really has to apologize. 

Also Aquarians are so fucking intelligent. Naeun knowing Chinese and being able to land multiple roles in dramas and MVs isn’t a fluke or charm. It’s her intellect and coming across professionally (see: Hoseok, Seulgi). 

She’s such a strong independent women inside, that people often underestimate her constantly. But she uses that vice to the best of her abilities and turn it around into being so impressed by her-- they had to hire her. She’s not a fool. 

Kim Namjoo  April 15, 1995 (Seoul, South Korea) Aries Sun/Libra Moon

God Namjoo calling herself ‘beyonce’ is such an Aries/Libra mood honestly. 

Aries sun has this childish, youthful charm to them. They’re energizing to be around, even when they’re not doing anything at all. Often times they’re pretty laid back people around close friends/families, they love activities since it enriches their ego/life-- but they love doing activities with a group of close friends instead of larger associates. 

Aries sun are so endearing because they’re so honest and forth-wright with you, if they think something is wrong they’ll say it. Often they’re very supportive and feels ‘fired up’ when they hear wrong-doings that happens to others around them. 

Sure they can be abit ‘me’ centered, but it doesn’t harm anyone. In fact that’s how they come across as a bit ‘dramatic’ -- if you just let them be, they’ll eventually solve itself. With Namjoo being 2nd youngest, she probably takes this opportunity to use the ‘2nd youngest’ card on the unnies alot. 

Namjoo’s Aries moon is tied to the 3rd decan which is ruled by Jupiter/Sagittarius. Most likely, her ‘tantrums’ have some limit to them. She can appear to be so wise and a stabilizing advice giver in private to the unnies. 

Sagittarius influence makes the Aries energy calmer, it’s really good balance since Sagittarius are abit more introverted than Leos/Aries as well. She might be tired, a bit more light hearted, cracks jokes and enjoy calming time with the members alot more behind close doors. 

Combined her Aries sun with her Libra moon, it’s no wonder she’s good at impersonation. Aries sun doesn’t have the same qualms or shyness that Leo possesses, they have no shame (Sagittarius decan) - in fact, her Libra moon is influenced by Aquarius which makes her want to stand out. Being able to do impersonations? No problems. Making a fool of herself? As long as it’s not at her expense (too badly) she’s fine with it too. She’s all in for the sake of entertainment, in and out of the industry honestly. 

Having a Libra moon makes one really adaptable to others around them, honestly it’s kind of like Chorong but inverse? She’s sometimes confused about what she wants but she won’t push it on others. Outwardly she’s sure, calm and confident. Not really prone to thinking much about stuff? She’s made entirely out of Air and Fire placement that are healthy for her. She doesn’t really have anything much to worry about when push comes to shove-- she’ll come through it well enough with minimal burns too. 

Oh Hayoung July 19 1996 (Seoul, South Korea) Cancer Sun/Virgo Moon

Ok so you know how she’s good at guessing/intuition? It’s because of her sun-- her Cancer Sun (Moon ruled) is influenced by Neptune/Pisces which have dominion over the subconscious/intuition. 

It’s similar to Chorong, but Hayoung can show this better because of her Virgo moon. She knows herself and she knows how to showcase stuff about herself-- it feeds her self-confidence/ego better because she has streamlined communication between her head and her heart.

With Cancer Sun influenced by Neptune/Pisces, she feels the guess inside her soul sometimes. It becomes sort of a six sense, something she can feel palpably in her being instead of just ‘guessing’ or ‘feeling out’ the guess. This is because it’s in her sun, the core of her being, her hard wire. You sometimes don’t have to feel/know your sun to know it’s there, but ultimately it’s a part of you that makes you work like you.  

Her mature appearance is all due to that Cancer/Virgo influence. If you think about it like this, her Cancer sun rules her face and her Virgo moon rules her eyes. Your sun/moon comes through on your face no matter what sign it’s in. 

Cancers are nurturers of the zodiacs, they’re called ‘the mum’ because their sister sign Capricorn is ‘the dad’ -- it’s all gender-bull to be honest I don’t even like that stuff, but its based on the idea that Cancer rules the 4th house which talks about the home, family life and often childhood/mothers/women in our life. Hayoung has that feminine caring look about her, and her Virgo moon adds the maturity to her face. 

With Virgo moons it can be one of the harder placement to have since earth-signs moon tends to take on their experience and show their age through whatever it is on their face. Capricorns often have that sober look in their face/eyes because of this. With Virgos-- they’re hard workers. They’ve been through alot, but ultimately they’re not downtrodden by the world yet. They’re mature and sophisticated women, they’re classy and simple-- an elegant classic. Combined with her Cancer appearance it makes her look like a reliable and older lady who has her life together. 

This doesn’t necessarily mean it’s true. In fact, Virgo moons often have to face hardship on their own. Virgo wants to do good for the world, they’re a mercury sign and they’re more communicative than any other earth sign out there. Often times Hayoung probably brings up good practical solution, has alot more patience and listens to her unnies before suggesting a good solution to all their problems. She’s the ONLY person in the team who has an earth-sign in her Sun/Moon-- and that affects the overall dynamic and temperament of others a lot.

Since everyone else is either ruled by Air or Fire, having an earth moon can be slower moving and stabilizing for the whole team. The unnies probably adore her, because she has this sense of stability in her? It brings security and stead fastness, if someone (Naeun/Chorong) needs to be with someone she’ll be there. If someone needs someone to supervise them or check their ideas (Eunji/Bomi) she’s the person to go to. There’s something just so dependable in earth-sign moons it really helps settle the external environment around them.

With this said, it can be hard on the person who has the Virgo moon themselves. Virgos are notoriously self-decrepitating and harsh on themselves. If they feel like they aren’t accepted or validated by the world or people close to them, they become cripplingly vulnerable to themselves. 

They often need to be reassured that they’re appreciated by others, that their work has paid off and that their efforts are working out the way they want it to work. 

They’re tireless workers, and often times they won’t stop until they reach that emotional satisfaction where they’re like ‘ok now let’s see the results’-- they need it to be overwhelmingly positive. 

She has to watch out not to overwork herself or place too much pressure on herself this way since it can do more harm than good. Moderation and regulation is the key here, as well as learning how to enjoy the lighter things in life -- her unnies can teach her that.

He’s tall as heck (second tallest ego after Dark, tallest of the Septics) and kinda lanky, suprisingly badly coordinated when not doing his hero-y things

He has a lot of scars from past fights and accidents. Also some birthmarks, and stretchmarks on his tighs, hips, chest and back.

He’s less “super muscular comic book beef-man” and more agile and wiry and yknow. built like an actual person

Never cared much for the green hair and let it go without any fuss (egos can choose whether to keep their hair colour or let it change when their human counterpart changes it too). He should really get it cut now tho bc it’s getting Long and Bothersome

His eyes squint a lot when he smiles and it’s v cute

When not in his hero gear, he just looks like a Big Nerd. He wears flannels (or giant hoodies) and glasses (the rim of which is the same blue as his mask) and is a p shy and v friendly guy. He also loves comics and his favourite hero is Spiderman

His mask is enchanted to substitute for his glasses

He doesn’t actually have any superpowers and the only superhuman thing about him is that he’s an ego and thus he’s more resistant to damage and way harder to kill than a regular person. He gets around via parkour and a grappling hook and fights using a “homemade blend of martial arts” (- Krista). He doesn’t like weapons (tho he has a knife for emergencies bc Marvin and Anti begged him to carry one), so the most he’ll do in that regard is use a pole/staff or utilise the advantages the environment gives him.

Stubborn as fuck sometimes and would probably bleed to death before asking for help bc he didn’t want to be a bother (Marvin keeps trying to get him not to do that. They’re working on it)

He’s trans and yet to have any sort of surgery bc he hates the thought of being out of comission during the healing proccess. Instead of T and birth control, he takes potions made by Marvin bc they’re cheaper, easier to get and more convenient. Their only downside is that they don’t stop his periods completely bc Marvin is too scared to magically mess with the functions of a whole set of organs too much for fear that he’d cause a lot of damage.

He’s gay (as in, proper full rainbow not just “not straight”)

He knows how to sew and to properly operate a sewing machine, bc he just found it an interesting and useful skill to learn. It came in handy when he made his suit mostly by himself (well, his current one. The first version was just cheap spandex) (Marvin did the magical aspect of things and most of the concept art)

Since he can’t wear his binder while out and about doing his hero things (bc one should never wear a binder while exercising!) his suit is enchanted with minor illusion magic to make him look flat-chested anyway. It also helps him blend into the shadows better despite his bright colour scheme.

He’s dating Marvin btw I just realised that I should probably mention that just in case. They live together in a Big treehouse (yknow the ones that are just. actual houses in trees) and both have their own room but still share a bed a lot

He likes to curl up to make himself comfortable or when cuddling and thus he can look deceivingly small

He’s a v insistent cuddler, even more so when he’s asleep. Even if he falls asleep not clinging to the person nearest to him (including anyone who’s next to him on the couch during a movie night, not just Marvin when they’re sharing a bed) he’ll grapple for them and gravitate towards them in his sleep and just not let go of them if he can help it

His favourite place to sleep is on Marvin tho and it’s highly beneficial to both of them bc Jackie gets his much needed dose of physical contact and comfort (and gets to listen to Marvin’s heartbeat as he sleeps, which is apparently p good against nightmares) and Marvin also enjoys the closeness as well as some good good pressure stims (and a lot of kisses)

Loves flowers! There’s a lot of plants in the house (and under it on the ground), and he knows the meanings of most flowers as well

Besides Marvin, he’s probably closest to Schneep but tbh he gets along well with anyone. He strikes up short-term alliances with Anti and/or Chase every once in a while to mess with Marvin (sidenote: Anti, Chase and Marvin are the Inseparable Disaster Trio)

Likes video games tho doesn’t play nearly as much as Chase or Marvin (or Seán ofc) do. He mainly likes story-heavy games or soft, light-hearted ones like Slime Rancher, but will play other games too for the sake of playing with his friends

His biggest fear is not being able to protect his loved ones from danger (let it be him being captured and used as leverage against them or them getting hurt directly). Another v big one is the idea that “you either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain” bc he obvi doesn’t wanna die young but he’d also never want to be the villain. In the end, if he had to choose he’d probably choose to die young

He has anxiety and PTSD due to the general traumatic events of being a hero, but he’s v intent on getting better so he takes his meds and tries to seek out help whenever he needs it

He’s v open about his thoughts and emotions and isn’t afraid to cry (and cry he does esp over movies. Also over TAZ when he listened to it with Marvin)

Has a big soft spot both for animals and children. He instantly got on well with Varjú (Marvin’s pet crow/familiar) when he entered the scene, and he adores Chase’s kids (who in turn adore their Uncle Jackie who’s an Actual Hero and always up for playing cool games with them or telling them stories)

He speaks French on an intermediate level, tho he’s p rusty. He could still manage if he needed to, probably

I swear he gets his life energy from positive reinforcement or something

Hates being the centre of attention for long (or amongst a lot of ppl) tho or being thanked too much for something he sees as a simple deed. He gets awkward and nervous really quick and will find the quickest way out possible

His bed is a big comfy double bed btw with like three blankets and okay only two pillows but at least ten stuffed animals (who are moved to a chair and the floor when Marvin also sleeps there, bc if not then they will end up being pushed off on accident)

He likes cooking and baking and bakes when he’s anxious

He’s also p good at drawing but unlike Marvin he doesn’t really pursue that hobby aside from a stray doodle every once in a while

Neither him nor Marvin can dance for shit but that doesn’t mean they don’t enjoy it

The later it is the more cheesy and sappy and Gay he gets and he rambles a Lot. His pick-up lines/flirting/compliments to Marvin reach the level of coherence as those made by neural networks (if you don’t know what I’m talking about I highly suggest you look up those posts bc they’re Hilarious) but Marvin finds it v endearing

As a proper Tall Person, he sometimes teases others for being shorter than him and exploits his tallness (which includes him literally just picking Schneep up, who’s the shortest Septic ego, and just putting him aside when he’s worrying about something too much)

FAST FACTS / BIOGRAPHY

grew up with two sisters and a brother in a two - story home with his parents for eighteen years of his life. his sisters ( carmen & liana ) were twins that were five years younger than him and his brother ( caine ) was seven years behind him. lachlan was the oldest, so he was always in charge when his parents went out or away.

he wasn’t the best student and kept to himself during most of his years in school, growing very interested in computers as he got older. 

when he was around ten, his family inherited his uncle’s mansion  ––  a relative his family was fairly close to and they moved to london to live in it. the mansion, at the time, didn’t have the best security and wouldn’t until tragedy struck the munzert family when lachlan was about seventeen.

during one of the weekends his parents went away, lachlan threw a party at the family’s new mansion and hundreds of people showed up. he didn’t know half of the people there and his siblings stayed at their friends’ homes during the night, but he thought he was in the clear because he’d hired people to clean up the next morning. all went well with the cleaning crew and his parents never suspected a thing when they got back.

his gullibility at seventeen was what got the family robbed the following weekend of the party. six different men and two women ended up breaking into their mansion, making the family well out - numbered when they arrived. they’d made imprints of the keys the previous weekend at his party and took note of pretty much anything they could in the house, and lachlan still refused to tell his parents about the party, even that night. 

lachlan, caine, and their two sisters were all tied up, and lachlan didn’t know where his parents were the majority of the night ( the house was huge, there was no way of really knowing ). it left him to protect his siblings all alone while the intruders searched for the one thing they came for : money from the family’s safe in the basement. 

long story short, lachlan made some bold decisions that night, which included doing anything he could to ensure the safety of his siblings while his parents were nowhere to be seen. because he was seventeen and not the best with assessing situations realistically and logically, he tried to play the hero. his heroics resulted in witnessing his brother’s ten year old neck being snapped right before his eyes and his twelve year old sisters being dragged off somewhere, never to be seen again. the burglars seemed to think lachlan would suffer more if he was kept alive and responsible for the deaths of his siblings from trying to save everyone. it was one against eight and he was never going to win. 

he found out later that his parents tried to fight back, too, and they were killed upstairs before he had the chance to try and save them. the cops were called when the criminals left, but none of them were found at the time and they sent out a search for his sisters that would go on for years and years later.

----- ❀ fun fact: i intended for ebony to be an adjusted version of a character i already had, and planned to mould her around the skeleton and the setting and whatnot, but....... that just didn’t happen ??? ebony came to me very quickly & i wasn’t even expecting her lmao ? so a couple of details are based on That Other Character, but the rest just kind of happened ?? me, playing a brand new character in a rp ???? sounds fake ??? what can i say my dudes the skeleton got me good 

----- ❀ her label is the libertine, meaning her item she put n the time capsule was the watch ! long story short, it was her dad’s, who died unexpectedly very close to the time of the carnival. he claimed the watch to be a family heirloom, but they found out after he died that that was bullshit, and it was worth nothing, and since he lied about it, the sentimental value was gone, too. not to be emo but the watch broke as he fell, so the hands are stuck at the time he died ( well, he didn’t die instantly, but it sure as hell wasn’t long after ) so that’s.............fun. fixing it would cost more than the watch was worth, so they didn’t bother. ebony’s parents had fought just before he died, and he’d been kicked out their home, so his parents blamed ebony’s mum, and ebony’s mum blamed herself, too, but she was so angry about the watch that ebony didn’t let it out of her sight ?? just in case her mum smashed it or threw it away. so when they went to the carnival, eb just kind of ???? had in on her ??? and she didn’t intend to put it in the time capsule it just sort of.................happened ?? but even though she was only seven at the time, she hasn’t regretted it ? like looking back on it now as a messy as fuck adult, it was the right thing to do ? he never took it off, so having it in the house would just be a constant reminder of ‘hey, your dad’s dead ! and he was a liar, too !’ so allowing her seventeen years to mourn his death and come to terms with it, and then getting her hands back on the watch, was smart ? obviously she didn’t think that far ahead at the time, but. 

----- ❀ she’s actually back in town because of the time capsule. ebony is always full of surprises, and anybody who knew about the watch, whether they put something in the time capsule too, or she just told them about it on her travels, might be surprised she’d go back to lorfield for a broken watch ? she,,,, cannot commit to anything ?? let along a tatty old watch ?? and when things get too real, or too tough, she just.........ditches. she just can’t deal with stuff, it makes her feel trapped and claustrophobic, and she just cannot deal with it ?? sometimes she just ditches hangouts and friend circles, and sometimes she’ll skip town entirely, it really depends. but anyway, the watch had lost some of it’s detail in her memory in seventeen years, and that alone is enough to give her a reality check, like how long it’s actually been, how important things can be, how she’s actually quite glad to  have the watch back ? she always thought it’d be bigger, too. like it’s a little bulkier than what she’d choose if she was just.............buying a watch, because she’s got thin wrists, but because she was only seven, she just ??? always thought the watch was bigger ???

----- ❀ anyway, her label. the libertine is defined as ‘a person who behaves without moral principles or a sense of responsibility, especially in sexual matters.’ on the main, and ‘a person, especially a man, who freely indulges in sensual pleasures without regard to moral principles.’ on the ol’ google. for ebony, it expands from just sexual immorality, into immoral everything, but including sex. she drops everything at any given moment, and does so with ease; she has no responsibilities and will own up to none of them even when they do become present. and morally she’s just.......... wrong ? she knows what is morally right and what isn’t, she just can’t allow that to influence how she does things ? she doesn’t  think before she does anything, which means that half the shit she does is on impulse, and is then regretted. she doesn’t think ‘the libertine’ is a very flattering label, tbh ? not because of the sexual attachments to it, or because of the flakiness, but mostly just because it’s true. 

----- ❀ personality wise,,,,,,,, she a mess. like i said, morals ? she doesn’t know her !!! she’s hard to be understood, doesn’t like anybody trying to understand her, but wants somebody in her life who does understand her. the problem is, she doesn’t even understand herself.  she really doesn’t mean to be selfish, she genuinely doesn’t, but she is ? but on the other hand, she’s kind ? pretty gentle ? very forgiving ? expels all kinds of confidence that she just does. not. have ? but she’s selfish and flaky and craves things she doesn’t let people get close enough to have ?

----- ❀ she changes her appearance quite a lot tbh. might take a hot minute for some people to recognise her at times, depending on what she looked like when she knew them ? 

----- ❀ tbh i can see a lot of the people she knows / used to know being all kinds of annoyed with her ? like it’s very much a case of, you think everything is fine, you’re getting on great, but then the real shit happens and oh look ebony’s gone. she just can’t ???? deal with anything ???? so she doesn’t ??? it’s infuriating, especially as a person who she may have ditched at some point ? and it’s so clear WHY she disappears. she thinks her problems will be left behind, but they just catch up to her eventually and she just won’t admit that maybe that means she’s the problem, and that she can’t just abandon everything all the time and expect that to fix things. there are so many things in life she can’t control, and it’s just so overwhelming to her, so when she can control things, like where she stays and who she’s with and who she wakes up to in the morning, she does ? and when she is called out on her bullshit, she’s so casual about it that it’s believable ?? and she knows she can’t be like this forever but owning up to it and putting a stop to it means having to admit it, and some things are buried so deep that it’ll take work to put them right or to deal with them, and it’s just so much easier for her to ignore it.

So today my period started, and it’s like...sigh. Bc my last period was two weeks ago. This all probably explains why I’ve been such an emotional wreck the past two weeks, but it doesn’t really explain why I’m having so many periods.

I’ve always had kind of fucked up hormones, likely linked to the POTS, and have always had really bad hormonal symptoms. The POTS is worsened whenever I’m having my period, for obvious reasons, but also like severe mood swings, intense pain, inability to keep down food, and like. Honestly back spasms that are so bad that I can’t breathe, I vomit up pills, just cannot function. It’s the upper back, so it ends up affecting my diaphragm/breathing and ability to swallow and it’s just!! Not good!

But historically speaking, every time my doctor tries to give me any kind of hormonal treatment, things just get worse. See: birth control, hormone injections, etc. About 9 months ago, my mom convinced me to try a new hormone specialist and I did and I got some hormones put in me and BOY HOWDY did they fuck me up! The mood swings I’d always had around periods got to really frankly dangerous levels (against myself; just huge fits of anxiety and depression that lasted for days before each period, and frankly, I was probably a danger to myself for a few months there), I got additional physical problems (I have had acid reflux for literally eight months straight and if I don’t take medicine for it religiously, it gets so bad that I lose my voice and start getting flu-like symptoms), and it’s just generally been…shitty. It’s been a little better since I came off the hormones (though some were implanted so they took forever to run out) but though I kept hoping my body would just return to its previous state, it really has not.

Long story short, I’m still really sick because of those hormones, I’m still having really bad symptoms, bad mood swings, back spasms, etc. It’s exhausting because  I know that a lot of my recent anxiety attacks are just hormone fueled (and lead me to get really upset over some stupid things) but that doesn’t actually mean I can make them stop. I’m just really tired. I guess this is a vent. These past 2-3 weeks especially have been really, really bad.

At any rate, I have to go back to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota soon to get myself looked at. I put it off for as long as possible, but. It’s the place that diagnosed me with POTS, and they may know the best way to try a hormone treatment that can work with whatever’s wrong with me + the POTS. Also, I need to get tested for EDS, which is probably also a thing I’m currently dealing with. I’ll probably be going there at the beginning of next year, and I am super not looking forward to Rochester in the winter. Again.

Plus, just... I don’t talk about it much anymore, but I spent the entirety of my teenage years getting experimented on. Dozens of tests, years of experimental treatments and I just. I’m so tired of being a pincushion and taking medicine that only makes me sicker. So the idea of going back to the big Mayo, though they were by far the kindest and most effective hospital I’ve ever been to, is just... idk, maybe I’m not handling it well. Put that with all the familial stress and exhaustion I was dealing with during my dad’s visit and. ugh. ugh.

So when I first read it (like….. 4 or 5 months ago??? I was really late to the game) I hadn’t read twilight in a long time so I didn’t notice all of the similarities that are there. I actually really like it despite that and the Edward/Beau Edythe/Bella ships give me life. The ending was what it needed to be so that Stephanie Meyer wouldn’t get like hounded to make more.

I love the books for generally being better than the movies but I love the emotional impact of the movies and their soundtracks so I gotta say movies which is an unpopular opinion because the books are definitely better but…. SOUNTRACKS MAN…..

Probably Renesmee but like AFTER they got the real actress for her and not the CGI baby monster thing they had going there. Also SETH and LEAH I love them so much. Also Jasper and Charlie, both are so pure I love them.

Pretty much all of the Cullens lmao but probably Carlisle the most. Peter Facinelli I love you but you’re so old and it makes me forget that Carlisle is like stuck at, what is it 23??? And Esme like… I love Elizabeth Reaser too but again they both look like they’re in their mid 30’s and it kind of takes away from the effect of them looking out of place and being in a strange situation by adopting all of these (supposed to be) teens. Also I don’t really like Taylor Lautner when he’s supposed to be just a normal kid bc again he seems too buff even thought he really wasn’t but as beefcake Jacob he’s great. I’ve been thinking recently about what about the saga I don’t like the most, and what I could change that would make the most impact and I feel like if the moral of the story was something healthy and actually something suitable for the young adult/teen audience that it’s meant for then that would change a lot about it. There’s always something to be learned from a story and something the author is trying to show society and if there was a bigger focus on a healthy lesson like self love, experiencing trauma but then healing properly and growing from it, or the way humans need platonic, nonromantic relationships and not just a hyper focus on romantic relationships to be happy in life, then the series would’ve been VERY different.

Well if Carlisle’s theory holds true and a gift is supposed to be an amplification of some trait one had when they were human (except for Benjamin and Kate like… what???) Then mine would have to be something related to music/singing. Invisibility would be really cool but also a very very insane ability to have. I’d have to think really long and hard before I gave a concrete answer to that.

Yeah I’d be a vegetarian because I’m a not so secret hippie and I don’t like the idea of killing people OR animals, so I’m fucked but I’ll just lower my morals a bit and probably not hunt those poor animals unless i HAD to. As in I’d stretch out time between hunts until it wasn’t a good idea for me to be doing that anymore. Also I don’t really know how I would spend my life, probably just doing the equivalent of watching t.v. and hanging out. Maybe if some dogs liked me then I’d adopt a few but like… short lives. I’m generally against the idea of living forever because I don’t think i could be entertained for that long ever.

 MARY  +  MAGIC   :     as  we  know  mary  is  capable  of  some  form  of  magic .     what  the  full  extent  of  her  magic  is ,  however ,  we  don’t  know .     things  mary  has  been  shown  to  have  done  include  but  are  not  limited  to  giving  objects  sentience  (she’s  done  this  with  jane  &  michael’s  toys  & ,  in  the  stage  version ,  statues)  as  well  as  moving  objects  with  but  a  snap  of  her  fingers  (some  kinda  telekinesis  i  guess  is  what  you’d  say  that  is) ,  flying  (via  help  of  her  umbrella  usually) ,  speaking  to  animals ,  creating  solid  structures  from  clouds  (she’s  sitting  on  a  cloud  the  start  of  the  movie  &  in  step  in  time  creates  stairs  to  the  sky  from  a  smoke  stack) ,  bringing  drawings  to  life  &  going  inside  them  as  well  as  bringing  others  with  her  into  the  drawings ,   &  transporting  to  fantastical  worlds  (bit  more  of  stuff  like  that  in  the  books) .     also  one  of  the  most  wild  accounts  of  her  magic  is  (and  i’m  not  making  this  next  part  the  fuck  up)  in  the  stage  version ,  in  the  second  act .     mary  returns  to  the  banks  household  where  they  have  replaced  her  with  mr.  banks’  old  nanny ,  ms. andrews :  a  cruel  &  horrid  woman  who  threatens  to  harm  the  children  for  running  away  &  feed  them  disgusting  medicine .     mary  has  a  sort  of  nanny  face  off  with  her  & ,  without  moving  from  the  stairs ,  mary  somehow  controls  ms. andrews  to  chug  the  entire  bottle  of  her  own  disgusting  medicine .     afterwards  the  lights  go  red  as  a  large ,  human-sized  bird  cage  rises  from  the  floor  (or  comes  out  the  wall  depends  on  what  version  you’re  seeing)  with  smoke  also  coming  out  beneath  it  &  mary  controls  ms. andrews  to  go  inside  the  cage  then  the  cage  sinks  back  into  the  floor  until  it’s  gone  along  with  ms. andrews  shrieking .     again ,  mary  never  moved  from  the  stairs  during  this  she  controlled  ms. andrews  entirely  with  her  mind .     so ,  yeah ,  shit  i  guess  mary  can  physically  control  others  with  her  mind  as  well  as  fucking  ...  damn  people  to  hell ?     because  i  literally  don’t  know  what  else  you  would  call  that ?     point  is  while  mary’s  magic  is  usually  used  for  fantastical  &  fun  purposes  . . .  she  is  powerful  &  i  suggest  you  not  mess  with  her .     from  all  that  we’ve  seen  she’s  done  it  can  be  assumed  that  mary  possess  potentially  reality  warping  magic  or  something  close  to  it  &  she  has  very  good  control  over  it .

 MARY  +  ORIGINS  :     where  did  mary  come  from  &  what  is  she  are  questions  that  have  haunted  me  for  years .     she  has  family .     in  the  book  she  states  that  uncle  albert  is  her  uncle  though ,  as  many  people  refer  to  him  as  uncle  albert ,  it’s  unclear  whether  that  is  simply  many  people  refer  to  him  as  their  uncle  or  if  he’s  an  actual  relative  of  hers .     he  is  shown  to  have  some  sort  of  magic ,  though ,  as  he  floats  when  he  laughs  &  can  cause  others  to  do  the  same  & ,  in  the  book ,  he  makes  a  mention  to  mary’s  mother  saying  that  she  would  befriend  cows  which  shows  that  uncle  albert  is  close  to  her  family  &  it  suggests  that  mary’s  mother  had  magic  as  well  &  talked  to  animals .     mary  possibly  comes  from  a  line  of  people  with  magic  though  she  seems  to  be  the  most  powerful  &  in  control  of  them  all .     i’ve  read  a  description  once  on  a  disney  website  that  said  mary  was  “a  good  fairy”  yet  in  the  book  she  does  give  some  sort  of  explanation  to  her  powers  saying  that  all  children  are  born  with  magic  like  hers  but  as  they  get  older  they  lose  that  power  &  forget  about  it  but  she  simply  never  lost  hers.     in  effort  to  mesh  these  together  i’ve  come  up  with  the  idea  that ,  yes ,  all  have  magic  at  birth  but  only  the  rarest  few  can  retain  it  after  childhood  &  that ,  in  mary’s  world ,  those  people  are  what  came  to  be  known  as  faries .     those  who  have  kept  their  magic  outside  of  childhood  are  thought  to  be  faries  since  they  were  able  to  do  that .    so ,  while  she  doesn’t  directly  call  herself  it ,  mary  is  a  good  fairy .     she  also  has  a  distinct  connection  with  the  wind  as  it  seems  to  direct  where  she  goes  &  when  she  leaves  ...  i  don’t  have  anything  for  that  perhaps  it’s  just  being  her  so  in  touch  with  the  world  &  magic .     she  also  seems  to  have  been  doing  her  nannying  job  for  quite  sometime  &  has  wisdom  beyond  her  physical  age .     with  that  i’m  going  with  that  if  you  manage  to  retain  a  considerable  amount  of  your  magic  into  adulthood ,  your  lifespan  is  expanded .     not  immortal ,  but  expanded  so  that  you’re  younger  longer  as  you  age  slower .     so  who  knows  how  old  uncle  albert  is  or  if  her  mother  is  still  alive  &  how  old  she  is  &  mary  is  much  older  than  she  appears .     because  that  makes  sense  to  me  &  i  like  it .

 WHERE  I’VE  TAKEN  HER  FROM  :     after  the  story ,  &  probably  then  some .     she’s  helped  the  banks  &  gone  to  other  homes ,  wherever  the  winds  take  her ,  &  now  the  winds  have  simply  blown  her  here  &  they’re  not  changing .     therefore  mary  believes  this  is  just  where  she’s  meant  to  be  though  this  is  the  first  time  the  winds  have  simply  brought  her  somewhere  with  no  job  to  do .     with  no  charges  to  take  care  of  she’ll  still  find  her  own  things  to  keep  her  busy  but ,  for  once  in  her  life ,  she  doesn’t  quite  know  what’s  going  on .

 mary  knows  she’s  supposed  to  be  here ,  as  this  is  where  she  was  taken  to  by  the  wind ,  but  doesn’t  really  get  why  there’s  no  specific  nanny  job  for  her  to  do  here .

 WHAT  BERT  IS  TO  HER  :    bert  is ,  easily ,  the  closest  to  mary .     there’s  still  a  lot  he  doesn’t  know  about  her ,  as  she  does  her  best  to  keep  him  at  arm’s  length ,  but  he  does  know  her  more  than  others  &  is  who  she  spends  most  her  free  time  alongside  when  she  can .     however ,  the  more  time  she  spends  with  bert  the  more  she  finds  herself  becoming  fond  of  him ,  far  more  fond  than  she  is  of  most .     while  she  won’t  admit  it  bert   has  earned  a  special  place  in  her  heart  &  she  looks  forward  to  those  second  tuesdays  off  when  she ,  no  children  by  her  side ,  gets  to  see  him  &  spend  the  day  with  him .     she  limits  herself  to  only  those  second  tuesdays  to  have  this  personal  time  with  him ,  though ,  because  any  more  time  &  sentiment  may  just  muddle  her .

 MARY’S  NEVER  PHASED :     she’s  literally  never  shocked  or  surprised  or  lost  for  words .     there’s  only  a  few  things  that  could  possibly   be  capable  of  rendering  her  speechless .     VERY  few  things .     this  isn’t  just  because  she’s  the  most  perfect  person  alive  but  also  because  she’s  honestly  seen  &  been  put  through  some  SHIT .     she’s  a  nanny  for  troubled  families  &  not  all  those  troubles  are  limited  to  things  like  a  father  who  ignores  his  children ,  is  run  by  the  stress  of  his  job ,  &  has  no  time  for  his  family .     whatever  mary  is ,  she  is  surely  a  saving  guardian  angel  to  some  children  out  there  who  she’s  been  to .

It's time to take risks....

Well its about time I decided to write. I started this blog with one intention in mind but didn't have the motivation or the slightest idea on how to start this thing but with what I've been going through lately I finally figured it out.

Before I get started I thought I'd let you guys know upfront that I am in no way shape or form a writer. I actually don't like to write unless I'm really inspired to and well...here we are.

Now that we've got that out the way let's get started on how I got here.

For the past few weeks I have been going through this off and on depression but couldn't understand why it was. In the past I have had my bouts of depression but this was different because usually when I would fall into a depressed state it would only be for a short while and then I'd snap out of it. This time I couldn't for the life me figure out why I still felt stuck and couldn't drag myself out of it. Fortunately by now I figured it out: Birth Control (BC).

Now I'm not really a big fan of BC but I take it because I have a very abnormal menstrual cycle meaning I don't get my menstrual often. Some would be jealous of this outcome, but believe me it's not a good thing. I used to take BC before, but stopped taking it and then ended up pregnant, but that's another story for another time. Years go by and I go see my doctor because I didn't get my menstrual for some months now and long story short she prescribed me what she considered the lowest dosage of BC. Unfortunately I ended up getting some very bad side effects due to this BC: depression, anxiety and fatigue. It was bad for me because it put me in a very bad head space and it got to the point where I didn't want live and that's not me at all. So I asked to go back to taking the BC I was originally taking before I got preggers, but this is not the point of this post.

I said all that to say that while I was in my bout of depression it made me realize some things; that I'm not happy with my life. Yes, I have people in it that make me happy and that I love dearly but I'm not happy with me. I'm not happy with where I am in life right now. I'm a receptionist at a decent paying slow paced office with good benefits which seems like the perfect job for me but it's no longer what I want neither is it financially enough for a mom in NYC and with that I know there are some decisions I have to make.

At the age of 28, many people have gone places, figured out their purpose in life but as for me I have neither. I would find a passion and stick with it for a very short while then lose interest and this has been a pattern for quite some time. In a sense I am still passionate about those things but I don't know where to began. Like for instance I am passionate about two things: makeup and helping people, (I mean I am passionate about my child too but what caring mother isn't?) but that's not the point of this post either.

I may not know what is I want to do yet but one thing I know for sure is that I don't want to work at my job anymore. I'm not happy here. Granted, the people I work with are great and my job is very easy but I think I need a challenge. I always thought having a 9-5 with benefits was the life but when you are a young mom living in NYC where they make it impossible for you to make a living unless you are rich, well becomes a burden yet also hard to let go. Oh, did I also mention that I only have a HS diploma and very little college experience? And let's not forget that I'm also African American. Yea. So that means I'll need to work harder to get where I want to be. Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind the need to put in work to get where I want to be because I've done it before but when you don't even know where it is you want to be it's quite frustrating. I also have a child to take care of so quitting my job just doesn't seem like an option. So what is a girl to do? Well so far I started looking into jobs I can do from home and yes this seems quite a risk and a stretch but for me it would be a start. The only issue is that once again, I am a young African American mother in NYC. That alone is a struggle, but I have to start somewhere.
