Yoga Burn Review & Results After [90] Days..
Yoga Burn Review & Results After [90] Days
.Wow it’s been 90 days since I started the Yoga Burn program and so much has changed.
In thiIn this post post I am going to share my story as well as my results and tell you everything you need to know about the Yoga Burn program.
Update!) There are now several very helpful Yoga Burn reviews posted here for you to read!
This post has an estimated reading time of 5 minutes so if you’re in a hurry then you can skip to
my Yoga Burn before and after pics by clicking here
.
You know the best thing about hitting rock bottom is that the only way from there is up.
So when my boyfriend of 8 years left me I was angry with him at first but after a while it forced me to take a good look at myself.
When we met I was slim, healthy and fun to be around.
But over the years I gained weight and began to look like a completely different person.
The more weight I gained the more my confidence went down.
And I was tired and cranky all the time.
So looking back now I don’t blame him for leaving.
In a way it was probably for the best because it made me realize that I needed to make some changes if I was ever going to find happiness again.
What I really needed was to lose some weight and get healthy.
So of course I went online and started reading weight loss reviews.
And that’s when I found this post recommending Yoga Burn and Phen24.
Yoga Burn is a home workout program based on yoga.
It has a lot of good reviews and so many people were talking about how much weight they’ve lost with it.
And Phen24 is a diet pill that gives you energy, curbs your appetite and burns fat.
I’ve always wanted to do yoga and combining it with a diet pill that had lots of good reviews sounded like a good idea.
So I bought them both.
Yoga Burn is instant download but I had to wait a couple of days for Phen24 to arrive.
Before I got started doing Yoga Burn I decided that I had to make a few lifestyle changes if I was going to lose weight.
That meant;
No more junk food so I got rid of it all.
Eat less and only eat “real” food such as meat, fish and vegetables.
And stick to the Yoga Burn program.
I knew that if I was ever going to lose weight then I really needed to dedicate myself to following a system.
So that is exactly what I did.
I found Phen24 to be wonderful at boosting my energy and after taking it I didn’t feel hungry for hours afterwards so I never snacked on junk food.
And the extra energy really helped me with the yoga.
Maggie even wanted to join me..
By the way when it came to doing Yoga I was pretty bad in the beginning but gradually I got better and better.
I found that the yoga workouts made me all sweaty and I felt great afterwards so I knew I was doing something worthwhile.
I’m so glad that I stuck with it all the way.
I’ve been eating less and I haven’t snacked on a single piece of junk food in months.
And now I feel like it’s all paid off because in the last 3 months I’ve lost over 30 pounds.
My Yoga Burn Results
I honestly feel like Yoga Burn has really helped me turn my life around.
It’s gave me a simple plan to follow and it works.
I wake up in the mornings with more energy and I never feel lethargic anymore.
Plus I feel like losing weight and improving my health has really helped boost my self esteem and confidence.
I’ve also been a lot more social lately and generally having more fun.
Maybe I’ll even find a new man soon.. 🙂
Anyway I’m now a lover of yoga and I think I’ll continue to do it for the rest of my life.
If you want to lose weight and feel great then I think the Yoga Burn system is fantastic and you should give it a try.
I combined it with Phen24 and together I found them to be a wonderful combination.
You can buy Phen24 here and you can buy the Yoga Burn program here.
Put them both together and you’ll be amazed at how fast you start to lose weight!
What is the Yoga Burn program?
It’s a 12-week yoga program for women that you can do in the comfort of your own home or wherever.
It’s good for women who want a proven plan to follow that will help them get in shape through yoga.
It’s creator is a woman called Zoe Bray Cotton who is in much better shape than you or I but she’s very likeable and a good teacher so it’s ok. ?
The goal with Yoga Burn is to burn fat and get in shape so you can tone up and look great.
Since the program was released in 2014 over 100,000 women have now purchased and followed this program to change their lives and improve their health.
A recent poll of 1,083 Yoga Burn customers found that 97% of women who followed the full 12-week program ended up losing weight!
This is a system that anyone can follow to lose weight and get in shape, even if you’re completely new to yoga.
In her program Zoe teaches what’s called “Dynamic Sequencing”.
What is Dynamic Sequencing?
Well, when you do the same workout a few times your body starts to get used to it and adapts to it so it becomes less effective.
With dynamic sequencing, just as your body is getting used to a workout you start doing a completely different one so that your body never gets a chance to plateau and adapt.
This means you’ll always be making progress, burning fat and toning up!
The 3 Phases of The Yoga Burn Program
There are 3 phases in the Yoga Burn program containing a total of 9 different workout videos.
Phase 1: This is the beginners phase. You’ll learn the basics and the foundations that you’ll be building upon over the next 12 weeks.
You’ll be doing proper yoga workouts that will help boost your metabolism and lose weight in the beginner phase but it won’t be as advanced as the next phases.
Phase 2: This will get a little bit more advanced here as you start to learn new poses and combine the poses you’ve already learnt into flow sequences.
I.e. you’ll be moving from one pose straight into another.
Phase 3: By the time you reach phase 3 you’ll have been doing the Yoga Burn program for over 8 weeks and will now start to put everything you’ve learned together into some incredible fat burning yoga sessions that leave you feeling amazing and refreshed.
The 12 week program: The entire program lasts for a total of 12 weeks.
Each phase lasts 4 weeks and each workout is 15-minutes long but loops 3 times so the workouts last for around 45 minutes each.
Here’s an example workout plan you can follow;
Monday: Phase 1, Workout 1.
Tuesday: Go for a jog.
Wednesday: Phase 1, Workout 2.
Thursday: Go for a swim.
Friday: Phase 1, Workout 3.
Saturday: Tranquility Flow.
Sunday: Rest
(Note: you don’t have to jog or go for a swim but on those days there is no yoga why not do some more exercise?)
Repeat this schedule 4 times and then move on to “Phase 2” of the Yoga Burn program.
Here’s a short clip of Zoe teaching a yoga pose:
Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some answers to questions you may have.
I’m a complete newbie to yoga, is this for me? I would say YES! If you’re completely new to yoga like I was then you may suck at first but Zoe teaches how to do modify the poses so anyone can do them.
Gradually you’ll get better and better as each session goes by.
How long do the sessions last? Each DVD lasts for around 15 minutes and loops 3 times for a total of 45 minutes.
Do I still need to diet? If you want to lose weight then reducing your calories is a must. I wrote a section about it below here which you may find helpful.
Is there a guarantee? Yes, when you purchase from the official website you are covered by their 60-day money back guarantee.
If you have any more questions then feel free to ask in the comments section and I’ll answer as soon as possible.
The Pros and Cons of the Yoga Burn program
Cons
Not for advanced users: If you’re an advanced yoga practitioner and were looking for something to push you to the next level then this isn’t it.
This program is for women who want to lose weight through yoga and who aren’t very advanced.
Still need to diet: If you don’t diet and reduce your calories then all the Yoga Burn program will do is leaving you feeling toned and refreshed.
You must reduce your calorie intake if you want to lose weight.
Pros
Anyone can do it: Even if you’re very overweight and have never done yoga before, as long as you give it your best effort and show up for every workout you make progress.
Doesn’t require much space: All you need is enough space for a yoga mat and you’re good to go.
Digital + Physical: It comes with a digital version so that you can get started right away and a physical version that gets sent to your home.
Works for 97% of women: 97% of women who follow the program for at least 12 weeks find that they lose weight. So, if you make a commitment to stick to the program then you can expect to see amazing changes in your physique and the way you feel.
Easy on the joints: Yoga is low impact so it’s a safe workout for anyone to do.
60-day Guarantee: It comes with a no questions asked money back guarantee.
The Benefits of following the Yoga Burn program for 12 weeks.
So why would anyone follow this program anyway? Well, here’s what you can expect to happen after 12 weeks.
More energy – Yoga just seems to unlock an energy inside of you. The more you do it the more you’ll start to feel alive and vibrant.
Clearer skin – The Yoga Burn workouts help you build up a nice sweat regularly which does wonders for clearing out the pores.
More focus – When you do low impact workouts like yoga it is amazing for the brain as it gets the blood flowing all around the body without completely tiring you out like other workout programs do.
You’ll find that after a yoga session you seem to have more focus and less brain fog throughout the day.
In the past I used to get this awful brain fog in the afternoons where I would find it hard to concentrate but as long as I’ve done some yoga in the mornings I don’t really get this anymore.
Better sleep – You will find that yoga has a calming effect on the mind and body and when it comes time to sleep you drift off faster and get a more restful sleep.
Weight loss – The Yoga Burn program will help boost your metabolism and help your body to burn more fat for energy which will help you lose weight faster. You should also follow a calorie deficit too.
More toned – According to this WebMD article on yoga it helps to work out all areas of your body so you’ll look more toned all over.
The article also says that yoga is good for anyone who has;
Diabetes
High blood pressure
High cholesterol
Heart disease
And it also helps build strength and flexibility as wells as improve alertness and awareness so it’s great for the brain.
The WebMD also recommends combining yoga with aerobic activities like walking, biking, or swimming.
That’s why in the schedule I shared above I do stuff like swimming and jogging in the off days.
More confidence – When you begin to tone up and feel healthy you’ll be amazed at how much more confident you start to feel and it feels great to wear nice clothes again and look good in them!
Happiness – I find that yoga just makes me feel happy and refreshed and I always finish up with a smile on my face.
When you follow the Yoga Burn program you can feel happy knowing you’re on the right track and doing something good for your body.
Tips For Getting The Best Results
Hot room: If you can, try and turn up the heating in the room that you’re doing your yoga in as it makes the session more intense and you’ll sweat more.
It’s no biggie if you can’t.
Morning sessions: If possible, try to do you Yoga Burn sessions in the morning on an empty stomach. You’ll have less energy so your body will have to dig deep for fuel and will start burning more fat.
Fat burner: I recommend trying a fat burner supplement as it will help boost your energy, burn fat faster and suppress your appetite.
Don’t worry so much! If you’re finding that your yoga sessions are sloppy and you’re struggling then try not to worry about it. Just do your best and forget the rest!
Keep at it and you’ll get better.
Diet And Calories
To get the best results possible with the Yoga Burn program you should combine it with a calorie deficit and a low-carb diet.
Why low carb? Because carbs are for energy and are your bodies main source of fuel. When you lower your calorie and carb intake your body will quickly burn through the stored carbs and then look elsewhere for energy.
It will then begin to burn fat for energy. So, by combining the Yoga Burn program with a calorie deficit and a low-carb diet you are forcing it to burn fat and you will see results fast.
How many carbs though? I recommend creating an account on myfitnesspal.com and logging what you eat. MyFitnessPal will tell you how many carbs, fat and protein you are consuming.
Try to get;
30% or less of your calories from carbs
40% from protein
30% from fat.
Don’t be afraid of eating healthy fats, they’re good for you!
So that’s diet out of the way, now let’s move onto calories.
How many calories should I consume to lose weight?
I recommend eating 750 calories less than your body needs each day to lose weight on the Yoga Burn program.
To do this I recommend a FitBit watch. You wear it and it tracks how many calories you are burning each day.
Then to lose weight you just eat 750 less than you are burning off.
Example: If your FitBit watch track that you burned off 2,000 calories on Friday then on Saturday you will eat 2,000-750 = 1,250 calories worth of food. (Remember to keep it low carb though!)
You can then go to MyFitnessPal and log everything you’re eating and make sure you don’t go over 1,250.
If you find that you’re not losing weight fast enough then you can reduce your calories by 1,000 per day but I don’t recommend reducing it any more than that.
So that’s how you know exactly how many calories you need to eat in order to lose weight on the Yoga Burn program.
Low-carb + calorie deficit + Yoga Burn = a new, slim and healthy you!
Is The Yoga Burn Program Worth Buying?
If you’re already in good shape then I feel like this program won’t be challenging enough for you.
If on the other hand you are looking for a program you can follow that tells you exactly what to do in order to lose weight, tone up and feel great then this is the program for you.
Over 97% of women who followed this program for the full 90 days found that they lost weight.
I feel certain that if you stick to the program and show up for every session and you follow my advice on diet and calories then you will get life changing results.
In a few months from now you will be looking at yourself in the mirror in amazement at how amazing you look and feel.
And don’t forget you’re also covered by a 60-day money back guarantee!
The Yoga Burn program is fantsastic and I have a feeling you’re going to love it just like I do!

The UKCAT
There are 3 admissions tests commonly used by medical schools as part of the application process for Graduate Entry Medicine: • UKCAT • GAMSAT • BMAT
The three tests are different to each other and have their own individual aspects that make them unique to one another. This is the first of two videos where I will be going through each of the tests, and hopefully by the end of the two videos you will be more informed as to what each of the tests involves and whether or not you would be willing to apply to a university that uses each of the tests. It is worth mentioning that the UKCAT and BMAT are used by some universities as part of their undergraduate application process and as a result, you may already be familiar with these tests. I personally have the most experience with the UKCAT, however I did take the BMAT in 2013. I do not have any experience with the GAMSAT, so unlike the other two tests, I won’t be ale to provide any of my personal advice or tips.
a) Basic Information The UKCAT is a test that takes approximately two hours. It is taken at a test centre, the same place where you sit your driving theory test. It is a computerised test, divided up into 5 sections, each with different numbers of questions and therefore each section is timed separately meaning you can’t spend more time on say the quantitative reasoning section if you have spare time left over from decision making. The different sections with their individual timings are:
• Verbal reasoning – 22 minutes to answer 44 questions • Decision making - 32 minutes to answer 29 questions • Quantitative reasoning – 25 minutes to answer 36 questions • Abstract reasoning – 14 minutes to answer 55 questions • Situational Judgement – 27 minutes to answer 68 questions
The questions are multiple choice and you have one minute to read the instructions at the start of each test.
The cost of the UKCAT is £65 pounds but the price increases to £85 if you want to take your test after 1st September. The last date you can take the test is 3rd October and the earliest you can take the test is 3rd July but registration closes on 19th September 2017 The dates and prices do vary from year to year, so make sure you check the Official UKCAT website. You can only take the test once per cycle so make sure you don’t book it too early. Also, you must take it every year you apply (if applying to universities that require the UKCAT) as your score from a previous year cannot be used more than once or for the following year.
b) How to prepare for the test The official website states that PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE! There isn’t really any other way to prepare for the UKCAT. It can seem quite repeptitive, but after a while, you can start to enjoy it (in a weird, geeky sort of way!).
Everybody will prefer different books and website, however here are the resources that I (and I know many others would recommend):
Get into Medical School - 1250 UKCAT Practice Questions. Includes Full Mock Exam by Oliver Picard This book is extremely good and in my opinion is the best book to help you prepare for the UKCAT – it has plenty of questions and full explanations to the answers as well as a full mock exam! It is currently up to date and the author does update the book regularly so I would highly recommend it! Make sure you get the most up to date version, as the previous editions It also has detailed information on each section, along with tips and techniques that you may want to consider using to help you. Some people may say that it is not representative of the difficulty of the actual exam, but whether or not that is true, I believe does not make any difference, as any practice is good practice!
Score Higher on the UKCAT: The expert guide from Kaplan, with over 1000 questions and a mock online test by Brian Holmes This is also a good book, however is not as good as the 1250 UKCAT practice questions book. This is a book that I would recommend if you don’t’ have any experience with the UKCAT and nee something to ease you gently into preparing for the UKCAT. There are lots of questions to practice and there is also a mock online test, unlike the printed mock test in the book above. It is also cheaper which is always an added bonus! That being said, this book is slightly out of date, but is still good nonetheless.
Medify UKCAT Online Course Words cannot describe how good I found this website to be. Offering more than 4000 questions, multiple full mock tests as well as mocks for the individual sections, this is the most comprehensive preparation package I can find. Being online, the layout is extremely similar to what you will use on the test day and this is more useful than you expect, especially when it comes to using the on-screen calculator! If you don’t believe me, you can access a demo to the site to see if it is something that will help you.
The Official UKCAT Preparation Free Resources The UKCAT website has a preparation section which includes a question tutorial, practice questions and full mocks. I personally do not find their resources to be enough on their own, however they’re excellent for getting used to the layout on the screen and getting an idea of the difficulty of questions that you will experience in the actual test. Personally, I saved these practice tests for the week before my test, however it is obviously personal choice, and you may want to do it at a completely different time!
There are so many other resources, both books and websites, so have a Google and see which ones you like the best! There are courses that claim to be really good at preparing you! They can be REALLY expensive, and although they are good to an extent, they can only prepare you so much! I did an course, and although it was useful, in hindsight, I’m not sure it was worth the money, and I could’ve saved a lot of money and bought loads of books as well for extra practice questions! They’re not completely a waste of money, but I’d consider it carefully – anything they teach you can be found online or in books, so it does depend a lot on your personality and how you learn best!
c) My top tips for the test: 1. Get a good nights rest and an early night the night before your test! It’s a long and mentally exhausting test so you need to fully refreshed! 2. Book your test for a time that suits you – don’t book your test for 9am if you rarely get out of bed before 11am! Also remember that the test is two hours, so if your brain is best at 2pm but you know that tiredness hits you at 3:30, maybe try to book for about 12:30-1pm so that you’re not too exhausted at the end of the test. Also, be cautious of eating times, and factor that into the time that you book your test. 3. Avoid social media/your phone/any screens before you take your test. You want to try to be as calm as possible, and make sure you don’t tire out your eyes before your test! Having dry, itchy, tired eyes when you’re trying to concentrate is not helpful at all! Also, you want to be in the right mind set and catching up on the latest gossip is not what you need to be thinking about when you have a test that day! Your friends will understand! 4. Not quite a test day tip, but important! Do mock tests in proper exam conditions – that includes no music, sat at a desktop computer (or laptop with mouse and keyboard), a4 paper and marker for rough workings, and no using a physical calculator, use the onscreen calculator! 5. The day or two days before your test, try to go and find your test centre and work out how long it will take you to get there. You’ll be able to get an idea of the traffic too so that’s always helpful! 6. Aim to get there at least 20 minutes before your test is due to start! You don’t want to be stressed whilst sat in traffic!! Also, the ID checks that take place can take a little time so you don’t want to stressed about that either! 7. Make sure you have all the correct identification with you on the day. The name and date of birth on your identity document must exactly match the name and date of birth you provided when you registered for the UKCAT and the ID you provide must be from their approved list. The list can be found in the emails they send you when you’ve booked your test so make sure you bring the correct things! 8. Start preparing early enough, but don’t’ start too early! UKCAT say 30 hours however personally I prepared for at least 3 hours a day for 4-6 weeks before my test, increasing it to at least 6 hours in the 2 weeks before my test. Obviously this varies from person to person, so make sure you do what’s best for you! 9. Try not to bring too many things to the test centre when you go to take the UKCAT. They will provide everything you need, including an A4 booklet and marker for you to do rough workings on, so don’t worry about bringing any stationary! Just don’t forget your identification! 10. Don’t stress! It’s easy to tress about the UKCAT, especially given how much your application relies on the test, however getting stressed will not help your performance!
I hope you’ve found this information on the UKCAT useful! Feel free to message me on Twitter or on Instagram!
See you soon!

July 19, 2020 AsktheBuilder Newsletter
Ahoy Matey! Welcome aboard! You’re a new subscriber, aren’t you? I’m glad you’re here. A hearty welcome to our loyal crew as well! Remember when you had to either swab the deck or were able to lay in the sun on a comfy first-class reclining deckchair? No, this isn’t a newsletter about sailing or boats, silly! This will all make sense in just a moment.
You might have been a subscriber long enough to remember the column I wrote about why low-quality retaining walls tip over so easily. CLICK or TAP HERE if you don’t want that to happen to your new retaining wall.
This Issue’s Music
I really love listening to music, especially as I create this newsletter. I felt this week’s music selection was perfect as it sets the tone for a massive project I’ve just started on the AsktheBuilder.com website. Using that clue, and the introduction paragraph above, can you think about what I might be listening to? I think you’ll enjoy it. CLICK or TAP HERE and see if your little gray cells were right!
TV Commercials
I know this sounds crazy, but I love watching certain TV commercials in the hour I spend gazing at the flatscreen before surrendering my body to the four-poster bed.
For example, there’s one where Mike Lindell is hawking his new My Pillow towels. He does a side-by-side test pouring colored water into two towels. As the crap towel fails, he says while pushing it off the counter, “You could use this one for a pool liner.” BWAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA” So funny!!!
One night last week, I saw this very smarmy (my opinion) commercial about the Fuller Brush Full Crystal magic window washing product. I almost fell out of my chair.
I say this because I had the good fortune years ago to interview the presidents of the top two window-washing companies in the USA. These companies wash windows in massive skyscrapers all across the great USA. In other words, they know the absolute BEST way to clean glass.
The next morning, I reached out to Fuller Brush on their website requesting a sample of this purported spray-and-walk-away magic Full Crystal product to test. SO FAR I’ve heard NOTHING.
Normally, a company would be all over a request from a syndicated columnist who might give them some FREE ADVERTISING. When they don’t respond, it sets off the klaxon alarm in my head. CLICK or TAP HERE to hear it. This alert klaxon plays in the background of my cellphone voice mail message.
My question to you is: Have you purchased and used this product? Did you try a side-by-side comparison to see if washing the windows as I describe in this column produces a BETTER result?
Please let me know if you’ve used the Full Crystal product and how it worked for you.
Attic Fans, Phoenix & Your House
Terence wrote to me right after reading last week’s newsletter. CLICK or TAP HERE to read what I said about attic fans. I’ve taken the liberty to HIGHLIGHT some keywords in the email that Terence sent to me. They should put your head on a swivel.
Here’s what Terence wrote:
Love your advice. Phoenix, AZ was 115 yesterday. We have a long-time remodeling contractor who has a radio show and advice website. Here is his advice for Phoenix attics.
5 | Don't hook up a fan to try to cool off your attic
The only thing an attic exhaust fan will do, whether it is solar- or electric-powered, is create negative pressure in the attic. That will cause the air-conditioned cool air inside your home to be drawn up into the attic. Ultimately, you will be increasing your demand for cool air downstairs. And if you use electricity to run the fan, you will be shocked at how much that fan running all the time can add to your bill. A homeowner told us that when he put a power ventilator in an attic on the gable end of his house to get rid of the hot air, his electric bill shot up $100 a month.
This is a fantastic example of the erroneous or FALSE information you might run into on the Internet. It’s clear to me this remodeling contractor didn’t pay attention in high school physics or he was out sick for a few classes.
Allow me to BUST this remodeling contractor’s MYTH.
Air will come into an attic from the place of LEAST RESISTANCE. If your house has abundant and CLEAN continuous soffit ventilation openings AND a clear pathway from the soffit to the powered attic fan, air will flow into the attic via the soffit, not be sucked through the tiny openings in interior wall top plates. This is one reason why your mouth opening isn't as small as a cocktail straw.
How much electricity does something in your home have to consume to spend $100 in a month? Here in NH, I pay a staggering 14 cents per kilowatt-hour plus a $30 monthly service fee. Let’s set aside the service fee for sake of discussion. It turns out this statement about $100 would be accurate for me. A standard powered attic fan rated at 8 amps running CONTINUOUSLY for a month would burn up 714,240 watts. It took me just two minutes to do that simple math. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS DO THE MATH for your home using YOUR RATES - Don’t just blindly trust what you read at a website. Always engage your critical-thinking skills and verify what you read or see.

I’ve started to publish full transcripts of my 650+ videos to make AsktheBuilder.com ADA compliant. It’s not necessary because my company is so small, but it seems like it’s a good thing to do and I can accomplish multiple goals doing this.
YouTube provides a very rough transcript via voice-recognition software, but there’s no punctuation and there are mistakes in their version of the transcript.
In addition to the accurate transcript I produce, I’ve added helpful RELATED LINKS to each page as well as GREAT PRODUCTS you can buy that I mention in the videos.
Each week, I’ll be listing for you the video pages I’ve transformed. Here are the ones I transformed in the past few days:

Several weeks ago, I shared how I’d deployed a product at the edges of my lot to thwart mosquitoes. The mosquitoes in New Hampshire have the reputation of being the inspiration for the US Navy’s F/A-18 Super Hornets. I had the rare chance to fly in one for an hour so I know this to be true. CLICK or TAP HERE to read about my F/A-18 flying experience. But I digress.
Ed’s a subscriber who lives in Cincinnati, Ohio - my hometown. Oh, how I miss visiting there to get all sorts of prizes, not the least of which would be a Skyline 5-way and an Aglamesis two-step hot-fudge sundae made with mocha-chip ice cream!
Here’s what Ed sent me last week:
Tim:
I purchased the Mosquito Eradicator that you mentioned in a previous newsletter. It works great.
Thanks for the recommendation.

Ed
Indeed it does work well. I did another test myself several days ago just before sunset. Normally, when I’d walk behind my truck where the woods start, I’d be attacked by many mosquitoes. This time only one was flitting about.

Wasp and Grasshopper
Speaking of flying things, check out this photo I took while eating lunch out on my deck a few days ago. This wasp had captured a grasshopper and was FLYING AROUND with it like an airplane with a bomb under it! The wasp must have gotten tired and decided to land near me. Pretty cool, eh?
That’s enough for a blistering HOT Sunday here in NH. This could be the HOTTEST day of the season. 94 F is forecast with a dew point of 72 F. I guarantee you I’ll be swimming and cooling off in the refreshing clear water of Loch Winnisquam.

How to learn new skills online
Put your glasses on—it's learning time. (GaudiLab via Depositphotos/)
There’s a lot wrong with the internet, but one of the best things about it is how easy it is to learn new skills. It’s actually one of the big reasons I have this job: I taught myself photography and photo editing, and I got my break writing about it. There are hundreds of thousands of videos out there teaching pretty much every skill imaginable, so if you want to learn something, there’s almost certainly someone teaching it.
However, there’s a reason most colleges haven’t done away with face-to-face classrooms. Learning by yourself has its own set of challenges—you can’t ask questions, there’s no feedback, and you have to be totally self-motivated.
But people still overcome these caveats and teach themselves everyday—and you can be one of them. If you want to learn how to sew, cook, or take a decent photograph, here’s how to do it well.
Have a reason to study
It’s easy to get excited about learning a brand new skill, but it’s much harder to stick with it once that rush fades. Before diving in, think about why you want to learn what you’re trying to learn.
“Have an end goal in mind when you’re learning,” says Aaron Nace, founder of Phlearn.com. “What do you want to do with this information? How is it going to improve your life? If you don’t plan on using any of the skills you learn, there is little chance you will retain the information.”
Even if you just want to do it for fun, come up with a cool project you can’t do without learning the skill. It’ll give you something to work toward.
Find the right instructor
How will you ever know what all these things do without a good teacher? (Belchonock via Depositphotos/)
The most important part of learning anything online is to find a teacher who’s right for you. One instructor might move too slow, another might move too fast, and maybe the third one has an annoying voice that distracts you. But don’t worry—there’s definitely someone you’ll find who’s just right, Goldilocks.
My big break came when I discovered Nace. I’d watched tutorials from other photographers before, but they’d all fallen a bit flat with me. Nace was different: his Photoshop lessons were unbelievably thorough but never boring. He was personable, fun, and an incredibly good teacher. For me, learning from Nace was super easy.
If you’re trying to learn a new skill, dedicate some time to look around and see what courses are available. Don’t just go with the most-viewed video on YouTube—check Skillshare, Lynda, Udemy, and any subject-specific websites, like Phlearn or Masterclass. Also, take advantage of any free lessons they offer, watch the introductions to their classes to see if they fit your skill level and speed, and check what other courses they’ve done, too. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to have the same instructor take you from a total beginner to a near-expert.
Don’t binge
Much like a good show on Netflix, watching online tutorial videos can get addictive. But don’t let it—you’re trying to learn something, not get distracted for a few hours. If you watch too many tutorials in a row, you’ll stop taking in the information.
How long you’ll be able to study depends on a few factors—the density of the subject and the amount of information in each video matter a lot. For skills like coding, web design, and data analytics, where big things happen in just a few lines of code, you’ll probably have to slow down and pause each video to follow along. It’d be impressive if you could retain all the information after more than one 20-minute video.
On the other hand, longer, more repetitive subjects like photography, photo editing, or cooking will feature less information in significantly longer videos. You might find you’re able to watch two or more hours of lessons in a row and come away with a good grasp of what’s going on.
Similarly, how much you already know about the subject you’re learning is also important. If you’re already at a high level, you’ll find most videos easier to watch—while beginners are trying to take it all in, you’ll only be learning a few new tips and techniques. I can now watch Photoshop tutorials at double-speed for hours because I know all the mechanics, but when I was starting out, I could only sit through a lesson or two in a row.
Time matters
Choosing the time also means shoes are optional. (Alexander Raths via Deposit Photos /)
Another important factor is the type of time to dedicate to learning, but also to resting. First, pick the right time for you—catching a couple of lessons after a long day at work definitely isn’t the same as doing it when you’re fresh, first thing on a Sunday morning.
Maybe you learn better with your morning coffee, or maybe your brain absorbs more information late at night. But whatever the time of day, it’s important to consider a couple of breaks during your learning sessions—this will give information time to set in.
“Ideally, you should rest when you feel yourself getting tired or you notice you are not able to pay attention,” says Nace. “Our attention span changes throughout the day.”
The only way to find out exactly how much you can get done in a day is trial and error. It’s different from person to person, subject to subject, and instructor to instructor. However, Nace recommends erring on the side of less.
“Don’t try to push yourself and ‘cram’ a lot of information into one session,” he says. “Try to learn over multiple days and allow time for everything to sink in.”
Follow along and take notes
Taking notes will prevent you from having to watch a 30-minute video to find the keyboard shortcut to the crop tool. (GaudiLab via Deposit Photos/)
Most online courses provide you with the sample files the instructor works with: use them to follow along. The best way to learn is by doing and practicing, not just by watching.
You have two options: watch the lesson through once, then go back and watch it again while following along, or follow along from the start. If you’re totally new to what you’re learning, the first option will make it easier for you to follow along, since you’ll already know where the lesson is going. Once you’ve got the basics down and you’re learning higher-level skills rather than simple mechanics, you can follow along as you go.
Also, take notes. Write down any important steps, handy keyboard shortcuts, or tips and tricks. Video is great for in-depth learning but it’s terrible for a quick-skim refresher. You don’t want to have to sit through 20 minutes of footage just to find out what tool you were meant to use next.
Practice on your own
At the beginning, it’s good to be able to do something following along with someone else, but eventually you’ll have to take off the training wheels and put things into practice.
Once you’ve learned a new skill, try it out for yourself. You’ll almost certainly make a few mistakes, and that’s totally okay. If you go wrong, review your notes, but otherwise just keep going. You’ll learn a huge amount from your own early errors, rather than just mimicking someone else’s work. And if you get lost, you can always go back to the original lesson.
When you’re starting out, I’d recommend turning the video off and working with the provided exercise files, as you can then compare your final results to the instructor’s. However, learning is not about memorizing a series of steps, but knowing when each step is necessary. So, as you get better, you’ll need to go on your own.
“I suggest students work on their own projects that are similar to the lessons to see how this new information integrates into their current workflow,” says Nace.
Revise in the background
Once you’ve learned something, you need to keep refreshing it to make sure it sticks. The best way I’ve found to do this with online lessons is to throw them on in the background when I’m cooking, photo editing, cleaning, or otherwise semi-occupied.
Actively watching a lesson you’ve already sat through once (or even twice) is pretty boring and, unless you’ve totally forgotten everything, completely unnecessary. However, by having one on in the background while you do other things, you can tune in and out as you go. It’s a great way to keep your skills strong.

After five years of living in China, and two years of This Beijing Life, things have changed. I left my job as a college counselor in China, and now I’m living a life on my terms. I’m my own boss, I travel when I want, and live where I want. I’m FINALLY living my dream of location independence.
I hope you’ll all follow me along on my new journey: The Freedom Life.
Pin Me!
What I Was Up to This Fall
As you can see, I was a bit slack on the Monthly Recap front last September but it was for two very good reasons. Firstly, I was traveling with my parents all around Vietnam during that time, and secondly, I launched my first online course!!!!
This monthly recap is going to be a big one, so get ready!
Lang Co Beach near Hai Phong pass!
Where I Went in September + October
Hoi An
Ho Chi Minh City
Hanoi
Ha Long Bay/ Lan Ha Bay
Hue
Danang
Hoi An Old Town lookin’ nice
Highlights
For the most part, these last two months were really great! From traveling all around Vietnam with my family to FINALLY launching my course, to days of straight sunshine (until recently), I don’t have much to complain about.
I Launched My Course!!!!!
YAY!! I’ve been hinting at this course for a solid year now and working on it practically full-time for the last 7 months, and it’s FINALLY DONE.
In case you didn’t see on social media or via email, I launched a premium course and community called the Teach Abroad Squad! The whole goal of the course is to make teaching abroad in China easy. Find an incredible high-paying job, learn how to actually teach to Chinese students, and survive in China once you get there.
Basically, I can’t go back in time and give myself a better first year in China, but I CAN be there for other new teachers. I made this course to help people have an incredible first year, avoid all the scams and not-so-great deals, and arrive in China feeling prepared to teach to Chinese students. Basically, everything I WISH was in my TEFL and then some.
I’m honestly so proud of this course, and I couldn’t be happier that it’s FINALLY out in the world. I just had my VIP launch in the last week of October, and I’ve already received a ton of great feedback. While the VIP launch is over, the plan is to open back up again at the beginning of 2019!
If Teach Abroad Squad sounds like something you need in your life, I highly suggest signing up for my FREE Teach Abroad Mini Course where you can learn some awesome basics (for free), and then you’ll be the first to be notified when we open back up again!

Enjoying a food tour in Hanoi!
My Parents Visited Vietnam
In early October my parents flew down to Vietnam for a 2 week trip to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Hue, and Hoi An! I had a great time showing them around, and it was fun to visit many of the places in Vietnam I didn’t have enough time in the first time around. Seriously, when I lived in China I’d been to Vietnam TWICE but only for a week each time!
It was especially fun to show my parents around Hoi An. We had some fun clothes tailored, went to all my favorite restaurants, relaxed on the beach, and rested after a busy trip!
Chris relaxing on the top deck
Fancy Ha Long Bay Cruise
One of my favorite moments of the trip with my parents was the fancy Ha Long Bay 2-day cruise we took with Mon Cheri cruises! The ship went through Ha Long and Lan Ha bay, where we had the opportunity to kayak through caves, swim in the bay, and have some fancy egg and coconut coffee while admiring the view!
This was my THIRD time in the area, and I definitely recommend Mon Cheri if you want to do a fancy overnight cruise without dropping a ton of money (we got a good deal on Booking.com). Previously I’d done a cheap day trip cruise from Hanoi (don’t recommend it), and a multi-day trip to Cat Ba island where I went rock climbing and kayaking (my go-to budget recommendation, it was amazing!).
Next time, I definitely want to spend more time in the area. I’ll do the 3-day 2-night cruise with Mon Cheri, and then spend some time on Cat Ba island to do some more adventure kayaking!
Elliot loving the trip!
Motorbike Ride Around Sun Peninsula
Last week my fiance Chris and his brother’s family and I took a motorbike trip around the Sun Peninsula just near Danang. We rode our bikes to Danang, which is only about 30-45 minutes away, grabbed a cheap central hotel called San Marino with an ice cold, but very beautiful rooftop pool (only $40!), and then embarked on a motrobike adventure that next morning!
The group of us took our bikes around the peninsula, seeing the famous pagoda and Lady Buddha statue, all the way down to the Heritage Banyan tree. The views of the coastline were INCREDIBLE, and we had such a good day.
Sure, my motorbike’s back tire exploded while going up a steep hill, but that’s part of the adventure right? Thankfully there was a handyman literally 5-minutes push away (suspicious…) so we were able to get our bike fixed after waiting our turn since we apparently weren’t the only ones having flat tires in the area. Is someone putting tacks in the road or something??
Now I can take tons of these shots!
YUM
Challenges
While these last two months were really fun, there were a few major mishaps too!
No Phone For Almost a Month!!
So.. my phone battery randomly exploded a few weeks ago. I grabbed my phone out of my bag and the entire thing was swollen to the point that the screen had started coming off.
Long story short, I was told to go to Danang to fix it. Couldn’t find the Apple authorized store anywhere because we were given the wrong address by Apple (thanks). After 2 hours and multiple taxis we finally found it, waited for another hour, and then were told that my battery wasn’t an Apple battery and they couldn’t replace it.
Cue a huge argument with Apple, who had told me to get a new battery a few months back when all the iPhones were having battery problems. The guy at Apple told me to go to a Staples because they were out of batteries at all of the Apple stores up until I had to leave the US. What he didn’t tell me was that it would void my warranty. Cool. Good service strikes again.
So after approximately 5 phone conversations with Apple, I was out of luck. I needed to buy a new smartphone, but they’re all at least $200 more expensive in Vietnam compared to the US. Since my parents were coming in 2 weeks, I decided to hold out and wait for them to bring me one.
With the new iPhone announcement in the US, I was able to get the iPhone 8 for over $300 less than I would’ve paid in Vietnam. I just had to go without a phone for about…. 3 weeks. It was awful.
For those of you wondering, YES I did look into other brands. Samsung is even more expensive and doesn’t have an international warranty (aka if it breaks I have to mail it to the US), and I didn’t love the other cheaper Asian brands like Huawei, especially not for all the social media, photography, and work stuff I do on my phone.
So, long story short, I love my new phone but I kind of hate Apple.
My parents relaxing in Ha Long Bay
Trying to Launch My Course RIGHT After My Parents Left
Once upon a time, I made a deal with myself that I would launch my course in October 2018. This made sense, because I wanted to avoid the holidays, and get everything done with my course before heading to Australia.
However, with my parents visiting in early October, this meant that I needed to get almost everything done before they arrived, so that I could launch my course 2 weeks after they left. Talk about stressful!
I was working all day every day trying to put the finishing touches on a 12-module course with 25 videos, plus 4 bonuses. My course is also hosted on its own website (too much of a control freak for Teachable or Udemy), so I had a lot of tech stuff to do as well.
Once my parents left, it was a mad dash to launch day! AHhhhhhhHHhh
Thankfully these guys took me on a motorbike trip to distract me
My 5-Day Launch: Stress City!
For those of you who don’t already know, I took a program called Create Awesome Online Courses to learn how to create the most epic course ever. One of the things they teach you in this course is how to create a 5-day VIP launch to get the ball rolling.
In this process, you have a free 3-part video series (some of you may have seen this), and after a week you open up your cart for ONLY 5 days. This means you spend that time doing a lot of promoting, and then you wait with bated breath to see how many people join.
In my head, I thought I needed to get everything done before the cart opened, including pre-scheduling all of my emails. So during the 5-day launch, I had nothing to do but obsessively refresh my email every 5 minutes.
Of course, as is typical, everyone signed up at the absolute last minute. Which meant for the first few days I had ZERO signups. I was totally depressed. Every few hours I’d check my email and see nothing. After a solid 7 months of working on this course pretty much full-time, I was basically having an existential crisis.
While I really love my blog and will always keep writing and sharing, I wanted this course to be my full-time job. I really do enjoy teaching, and love helping people achieve their goals and dreams. I also love being creative and designing something completely my own, so creating an online course has been one of my major goals for a few YEARS.
Thankfully, sales started rolling in on the last two days. Thank god, because I was really two-seconds away from heart failure. We now have a cozy tight-knit group over in our private Facebook group, and I can’t wait to add more teachers to our community in a few months!
Here’s a nice photo of cao lau
Food Poisoning On a Plane
On the day I was set to fly from Hanoi to Hue, I woke up feeling REALLY sick with some form of food poisoning. I knew it couldn’t have been the food from our food tour the night before since we all had the same things, so I’m assuming I touched some bacteria and then ate something with my hands? No idea. But whatever it was, it was BAD.
I tried making myself throw up, but couldn’t get anything up. I tried taking Imodium, drinking tea (I couldn’t get it down), but no matter what I did, I couldn’t get out of bed at all. My parents and Chris were all pacing around my bed trying to figure out what to do. Should I just miss my flight, forfeit my hotel in Hue and then pay for another night in Hanoi??
Eventually, I made it out of the house and into a taxi to the airport, but seriously… I was not okay. I felt like absolute death at the airport and almost threw up in front of security. I also almost keeled over on the packed bus to board the airplane, and literally almost died as people shoved me out of the way to board the plane.
When we got onto our budget flight, it wasn’t much better. Chris gave me the window seat so I could relax, but the flight was so crammed, I honestly couldn’t handle it. Thank god it was a short flight because that was the most miserable transit experience I’ve ever had (and this is coming from a girl who literally pooped her pants while waiting for a bus in the Philippines).
When we finally got to Hue I slept for the rest of the day while my parents took in the sights. The lovely owners at Hue Riverside Villa even made me plain porridge to eat that night! Thankfully I was well enough the next morning to go on our countryside motorbike tour. I only had to miss out on the famous salt coffee and most of our lunch.

Hello Danang!
Stressing About Money
This last month was the first time in my entire life that I couldn’t pay off my credit card in full. I know most of you are rolling your eyes right now, but I’m pretty conservative with my money, and I love having my credit card fully paid off every month.
While I do have a few thousand dollars, it’s all in China, so I can only access it via ATM here in Vietnam. I usually have all of my blogging income paid into my US account or Paypal, which is what I use to pay off my credit card. But with a bunch of travel, international flights, and investments in getting my course set up, my bill has been a bit too large these last two months to pay off fully.
While the interest isn’t too bad, this is definitely NOT a habit I want to get into.

I’m a little obsessed with the traditional Vietnamese ao dai dress. Not only is it super flattering, it’s also comfy with flowing pants underneath! Fun Fact: in Vietnam most high schools require girls to wear the ao dai to school on either Mondays or Fridays (or both). One girl I met in Hue said that a major reason she became a teacher was so that she could wear an ao dai to work a few times a week!

Travel Product I Can’t Live Without
Not necessarily a product, but a travel SERVICE I can’t live without is my travel insurance with World Nomads! I realized when I was sick in Hanoi that my insurance had actually expired and I’d forgotten to renew it, otherwise I could’ve actually stayed in my bed and skipped out on that horrible, horrible day of flying where I almost threw up all over everyone a hundred times.
Seriously there are a million reasons you need travel insurance when you go abroad. Remember when Chris broke his arm and we almost missed 4 flights, or when I stepped on a sea urchin in Cambodia and got blood poisoning? Yeah.
I personally use World Nomads which covers both getting sick abroad, and other important things like stolen phones (they reimbursed me for mine!), missed flights, lost luggage, and more!

WHO AM I?
Hi, Mosh here.
I’m a 30 year old Internet Entrepreneur.
For years, I struggled to make a single cent online.
Let Me Ask You Something.
Have you ever bought an online product that promised to make you a lot of money and insanely rich overnight with little to no effort and in minimal time?
Did you get the results that you were promised, or did you struggle and fail miserably?
Unfortunately, a lot of the methods out there that promise BIG money for doing little to no work, just don’t seem to work like they say…
I know when I was starting out online a few years back, I wasted A LOT of time and effort and a lot of money on such products.
I was always burdened to the core with information overload.
Do You Ever Get Information Overload?
In fact, I remember this one time I saw this online posting for a secret traffic loophole that would put $20,000 per month into my pocket with a more free secret methods and just minutes of work per day with a few clicks of the mouse.
Of course, this sounded pretty good to me…
I clicked the “buy button,” and anxiously waited for my download to arrive.
After refreshing my inbox a few times, it was there. I opened up the email, downloaded the training, and went through everything right away, making tons of notes in the process and brimming with pride and happiness.
After doing everything the training course told me to do, I sat back waiting for the money to start flowing my way…
I waited… …and waited …and waited.
Nothing ever came.
“What Had I Done Wrong?”
I wondered…
After doing some thorough research and background check about the method, I eventually realized that the method was not only outdated, but others were struggling to get results too…just like me…
This “get rich quick method” just wasn’t going to give me the promised results.
I remember thinking to myself back then…
“Forget making millions of dollars online…
If I could just make a consistent $50 – $70 per day online, it would change everything for me.”
Now I am a proud business owner and make around $8,000 a month.
But instead of $50 – $70 a day…
Now I Make $100 to $120 per day like clockwork from FREE TRAFFIC!
But I always felt that making money was not enough because I wanted to help other people make money too.
So one day when I was jogging and I was on mile 3 of 7 and I was overcome with this desire to HELP people…
And show them what I had learned.
So, I literally stopped and found a spot under a tree and hashed it all out.
I talked to my iPhone for the over TWO HOURS and it was then that Instant Commission Profits was born.
So if you would like to make $100 to $120 per day just like me, then keep reading.
AFTER A LOT OF STRUGGLING AND FAILING, I STARTED TO MAKE MY FIRST EVER COMMISSIONS
Everything was going good until one day, all my commission machines were gone… dead.
And my dream of scaling up was left hanging. And it was frustrating watching all my hard work go down the drain.
I quickly realized what I had done wrong…
BUT I COULDN’T GIVE UP JUST YET
Do you spend way too much time trying business models that don’t work?
Do you make your “make money online dream” more difficult than it should be?
Are you always on a lookout to exploit the latest loopholes or tricks but end up being broke?
Do you always wonder how the 4% people on the internet are making the 96% of the money?
Do you think that an extra $3000 a month could help with a few things around the house?
Look, I have been a poor guy and I have been a rich guy and if someone gives me a choice to be one of the two, I’ll always choose to be a rich guy.
WHY?
BECAUSE MONEY SOLVES ALMOST ALL THE PROBLEMS
And it takes away a LOT of worries and anxiety about bills and putting food on the table. It TRULY makes life easier.
LISTEN

Drop Everything: My Beauty Boxes have Landed! | AD
I wasn’t actually intending to keep these amazing beauty boxes under wraps for quite so long – there were supposed to be lots of cheeky little hints, advance-warning teasers, annoying “I have a secret announcement coming up but I can’t tell you what it is!” videos. But life got in the way and I only managed minimal amounts of nudging and so here we are, on the launch day with a hint, teaser, annoying announcement and “reveal” all in one. (I expect some of you, if you’re anything like me, will be mildly relieved to be getting it all in one hit.)
But I digress, as usual: let’s get straight to the point. Do not buy any presents, especially beauty presents, until you have read this post. In fact, if I may be so bold, do not buy any beauty whatsoever until you have read this post. (In all fairness, the likelihood of you suddenly clicking away to buy an emergency cleanser whilst you’re madly engaged in my excellent writing is low, but just in case you have some sort of compulsive beauty-buying habit: stop. Put down the mouse.)
I have launched two new beauty boxes with Feelunique and they a) have amazing things in them and b) are incredible value for money. They are my very carefully considered edits of The Best In Beauty; one – the Rescue box – is a sort of beauty “SOS” kit for time-poor, results-driven people, the other – the Indulgence box – is a beautiful collection of the most decadent treats. The Rescue box is worth £70 and costs just £30, the Indulgence box is worth a huge £105 and costs just £45! Either – or both – would make the most perfect gift, whether that’s for mother’s day (it’s next Sunday!) or a birthday or for a friend of relative who’s had a new baby…
Oh, I forgot to mention the baby thing! The whole idea for the boxes actually started almost a year ago, when Baby Ted was just a newborn. In my addled, harried state, I got to thinking that it would be a thing of great convenience if there was a beauty box that pulled together the kind of hard-working, visible-results products that new mums need. Skin soothers, face brighteners and perhaps something for fixing crazy, flyaway hair.
(Sadly my Colab Dry Shampoo, which is a staple for pretty much anyone with – er – hair, couldn’t be included as it can’t be shipped worldwide. But you can get it here if you fancy a little box add-on. It’s £3.50, smells amazing and doesn’t leave any white residue.)
And so the Rescue box was born, closely followed by the Indulgence version, which is basically a fabulous, relaxing treatment session in a box. Everything you need to unwind and reboost.
It has taken almost a year to put these beauty collections together and make sure that they represented what I initially wanted them to be – I do hope that you love them as much as I do. I’m going to do a full breakdown of what’s inside each box below, but if you’re keen to grab one (or two) before the rush then you can find them at Feelunique here. There are limited numbers, so get them while stocks last!
The Rescue Box (£30, worth £70 – buy it here)
This is the SOS beauty kit of dreams – fast-acting, hard-working products that don’t require any real thinking and are completely faff free.
I’ll start with the Balance Me Restore and Replenish Cream Cleanser, which was one of my favourites when I was pregnant with Angelica. It’s soothing, gentle but removes makeup well and can either be removed with cotton wool pads or with a flannel and warm water. The box contains a full size tube worth £18.
Then there’s a full size tub of the excellent Glycolic Fix exfoliating pads from Nip & Fab, worth £14.95. These little discs of acid-soaked wonder help to brighten skin overnight with just one quick wipe. They’re like the world’s fastest facial, really, and this version – the new “Gentle” formula – is great for more sensitive, temperamental skin. If you’re postpartum and wondering what the hell to do with your knackered, dull, blotchy face then these might just be your wonder fix.
More good stuff for tired, dull, compromised skin: a full size tube of L’Oreal’s Revitalift Cicacrem, worth £12.99, which helps to soothe and repair whilst doing the anti-wrinkle magic at the same time. It’s a great cream to have to hand when your skin feels tight and just a bit battered and raw. (Again, wonderful for postpartum skin, if you’re a new mum or you want to find a good present for new mums.)
Then for the lips, what is possibly one of the most effective lip balms in the world: Lanolips 101 Ointment. This forms a very hardy barrier over the skin and is almost unbeatable in terms of long-lasting moisturisation. Use on cuticles, dry patches, chapped lips – the version in the box is the Strawberry one and is worth £7.99.
There’s a little bonus “skincare” item in the Rescue box, and I have to say that I was sceptical about it before I tried it out. It’s the Magnitone Wipeout microfibre cleansing cloth, which promises to remove makeup with just warm water. And does it? Er, yes! It’s nothing short of miraculous and a massively convenient thing to have next to your sink or inside your travel bag for quick, easy makeup removal. I am a stickler for a proper cleanse, but sometimes when time is short (or supplies are lacking) it’s fine to cut corners – I’ve actually been using the Wipeout cloth to remove my makeup (especially eye) before I go in with my proper cleanser! I’m a total convert.
And then one rather spectacular product for taming wild, uncontrollable hair. (Or just hair that is normal, but you’re useless at styling it. I’m with you.) The One Minute Transformation Cream from Colour Wow can be worked through damp hair before blow-drying to give a sleek, smooth finish, or added to the ends of dry hair to tame flyaways and frizz. In what is quite the extra perk, it can also be used on dry hair and then blow-dried in, which means that you can refresh hair that’s not recently washed. A true multipurpose hair rescuer. There’s a 30ml tube in the box, worth £9.
So, you can see that this is a brilliant gift for anyone who lacks the time to make sensible beauty decisions, or needs comprehensive, no-nonsense products that work quickly and easily. I’m so pleased with this box – it’s a proper little emergency number!
Buy the Rescue Box here
The Indulgence Box (£45, worth £105 – buy it here)
This decadent collection of luxury beauty will have you cancelling all social engagements (ha! what social engagements?) and barricading yourself into the bathroom.
Start by winding your hair into the Aquis Turban (worth £30); whether you’ve applied a hair mask and want to let it soak in, or you just want to keep your hair out of the way whilst you do your skincare routine, it’s more comfy than a shower cap and doesn’t feel all sweaty and rank. It’s actual purpose is to help to dry hair after washing, because it wicks away a load of moisture and dramatically reduces drying time, so this is the sort of indulgence you can use again and again. A useful indulgence. A usedulgence. An indulful. Shut me up.
Then light your incredible NEOM Tranquility Candle (worth £16); the scent will have you completely relaxed (if not asleep) within minutes. This one-wick candle is a great size for travelling with, if you like to “take your scent with you” (I used to do this in the days when I stayed in hotels constantly and didn’t fall asleep the minute I lay on the bed) and the smell is so powerful. In a small bathroom space, you only really need to light it once a week to have the room constantly scented.
More aromatherapy from the brilliant Aromatherapy Associates: I’ve featured these Bath and Body Oils so many times over the years that it is a great joy and privilege to be able to include them in my Indulgence box. This is the Essentials trio (worth £28.90) that has the Revive oil, De-Stress Mind and Deep Relax – all of them incredibly potent. Just a capful into the bath, or patted onto skin pre-shower and you have an instant spa experience!
And then to skincare and two luxurious treats. The first is the Darphin Rose Aromatic Care, a glorious little oil that softens, smooths and hydrates. Massage it in before moisturiser for plump, dewy skin – I also like to apply a little before foundation if I want a beautiful, natural glow.
The second treat is the 48HR Moisture SOS Rescue Mask from NUXE. This packs hydration into the skin, whether you leave it on as a thin layer overnight or apply a thick layer whilst you’re enjoying your aromatherapy bath… Non-greasy, nice and soothing, this mask is too good to save for treat days – I’ve been using it almost daily since the weather turned cold. (Which was, when? 1988 it feels like.)
So there: the ultimate indulgence package, worth over a hundred pounds, yours for £45. You can find it at Feelunique here. Run, run, run like the wind! And if you want to hear me chatting through the boxes and saying things that potentially make me look slightly unhinged, my “reveal” video is below!

My 21 Day Juice Cleanse Experience & Weight Loss Journey So Far
In January I stepped on the scale and was overwhelmed by the numbers that stared back at me. What I saw was a reflection of all of the stress, bad eating and lack of consistency in the gym that I let myself drown in. Even knowing those things, I stood there and wondered how I'd let myself get to that place. 45 pounds later, I've realized that it was because I stopped putting myself first. Not prioritizing my health resulted in years of me doing the minimum and crying wolf when I didn't see the results I wanted.
Well as they say I was "tired of being sick and tired" after seeing the highest numbers I'd ever seen on the scale and It was the reality check I needed to finally put myself first again. So, how did that result in a 21-day juice cleanse? I wanted something different and drastic to jump-start the new lifestyle I knew I needed. I came across the documentary "Fat Sick and Nearly Dead," and was hooked after seeing the key benefits juicing provides. First and foremost it's a great way to detox your body from all of the many toxins we stuff it with and simultaneously feed nutrients to help reboot it in the best way. To simplify this I thought I'd breakdown my experience in three categories; the good, the bad, some tips and what I did after the cleanse to keep the weight off. So here we go:
The Good
Improved Digestion- This was the benefit that really got me on board to do a juice cleanse because I've struggled with good digestion for awhile. Because your body isn't working as hard to break down so much food, it is able to reset during a juice cleanse. I've seen great improvements in this area since the cleanse.
Energy Boost: Because your body isn't working so hard to digest whole foods, it disperses that energy elsewhere. I got the BEST sleep I've ever gotten in my life. I didn't need a full eight hours of sleep to feel refreshed and well rested. I'll admit that I'm usually dragging myself out of bed but during that cleanse I was up at least an hour before my alarm and didn't feel tortured by it at all.
Glowing Skin: While one of the detox symptoms I experience was small bumps on the side of my face, once the symptoms passed my skin glowed like never before. It also may have been due to getting great sleep for once but I definitely experienced skin that looked alive and dewy.
Weight Loss: I put this last because it honestly was just a benefit on top of everything else I experienced. Even though I started the cleanse to drop weight, the stuff I learned about my body made the weight loss itself seem small. By the end of the cleanse I dropped around 15 pounds.
The Bad
The good definitely outweighed the bad for me and everyone's detox symptoms are different. But I want to be transparent and share some of the negative side effects I experienced during the cleanse. My symptoms during the first week of the cleanse ranged from intense cravings, minor acne, mucous, coated tongue. All are signs of toxins leaving your body. Check out this video for a breakdown of different detox symptoms.
Tips
- Don't think you have to do 21 days to see the great benefits of a cleanse. I'm still trying to figure out how I made it to 21 days but what I do know is that I was eager to challenge myself. I'm not opposed to doing another cleanse but It definitely wouldn't be that long again. I'd personally recommended doing at least a week because that's when I started to experience some of the benefits.
-The week before you do a cleanse, prep your body by adding more veggies and minimizing how much meat you eat.
-I drank around Drink 96/126 ounces a day and was never hungry. I tried to drink as much water but most days I drank around 96 ounces of water as well to help flush everything out.
-Go vegan or vegetarian for at least a week after the cleanse. This will help your body readjust to whole foods again, instead of shocking it with a burger which can hurt all of the progress you've made.
-Social life? Not that I've really had one myself (lol) but when I did go out during my cleanse, I just drank a juice right before and drank water all night. It was a struggle in environments where I was clearly the soberest person there but in the end, it was worth it. Just hold your glass of water and try your best to pretend it's your favorite drink. (more than likely you'll remember it's just water)
After The Cleanse
It has been six months since I ended my juice cleanse and I've not only managed to keep off the weight but I've lost another 30 pounds. Like I said before, the cleanse was simply something I did to jump start a new lifestyle I knew I needed. I don't want to leave the impression that it should solely be a way for you to lose weight. If you don't have the right mindset you can easily fall back into past traps. I knew once the cleanse was over I needed to focus on consistently going to the gym and eating as clean as possible.
Working Out
Have I been perfect? No, I've missed maybe two or three weeks in the gym during the last six months (because life happens) and a box of Popeyes has made its way onto my lap a few times (because It's the best chicken). But because my mindset is different, I no longer let moments like those stop me from pushing. What I've tried this time around in the gym is going to a variety of group classes which I highly recommend for gym newbies. I now take cycling, tabata, pure strength and insanity at XSport. I also give myself mini challenges, like in July I aimed for 31 days of movement, where I'd do at least thirty minutes of some form of exercise a day. Though I only made it to 28, that was a win for a girl who has struggled with consistency in the past.
Eating Clean
Because I'm very mindful of my digestion issues, I'm implementing less meat and more veggies on a more consistent basis now. I've also become a meal prepper which I believe is key to me sticking to a healthy eating routine. With that said I don't have a fridge full of bowls, I just plan out what I'll eat for each meal during the work week and cook as I go. With that said, I still make it a point to have cheat days beecause I'm a #foodieforlife.
Self Care
This will forever be a work in progress but stress was one of the main factors that played a part in me eating a big beef from Portillos one too many times. How you feel mentally is a key player in you staying motivated to do pretty much anything in life. Working out has played a huge role in relieving my stress but now I try to stay more mindful of how I handle stress and things I can do to de-stress. Right now, reading, writing, working out and blogging, and even as an introvert socializing helps me destress. Finding things that make you happy and doing it will keep you on track with your goals in life. When you're consumed by the stresses of life it's easy to find yourself stuck in a non-progressive rut.
Takeaways
If you made it this far in the post, hopefully, you've realized that there's no real magic trick to losing weight. It boils down to moving your body, watching what you eat and finding your groove with those two things. Hopefully, you've also realized that it starts with a mindset. Maybe you only try a 3 day cleanse, or just start to work out twice a week. Just do what's best for you, challenge yourself and be mindful of your mental health as much as your physical health.
If you have any other questions about reaching your weight loss goals, I'd love to hear them in the comments!
