#so this is really still sad (especially because they have three young daughters) but life and hollywood just seems to break up marriages

your swamp chicken stories, especially when jake is younger, always remind me of this post
https://www.tumblr.com/kaijuno/760150740737081344
(sorry for the clunky link i’m on mobile)
do you have any more of them in the middle stage? between getting out and when they gain the rest of their family, when jake is still a kid raising other kids. i would love to see a situation where jake fucks up, or lets his emotions get the best of him because he’s. a teenager. not even anger—his own sadness/grief, or like he indulges the kids for something they want and it turns out there’s consequences he didn’t foresee bc he’s a teenager…complicated hero worship from the kids and the guilt of being responsible for another human being from jake. delicious
OR someone (javy’s family or the grandadmirals?) showing parental concern and/or proving an ability to protect jake and he just. shuts down. brain does not compute. bc his mom gave him the former but not the latter and i want to see him process that there are people who have the capacity, power, and desire to give him both
AHHHHH!!!!! I’m screaming!!!! I’ve been rereading this all day! That kitten post is absolutely Jake!!!
We will be seeing more of the in-between too! It’s honestly really sad, because Jake doesn’t know how to be a parent, he was never taught. He fucks up a lot, but it’s relatively minor (he couldn’t really read until he was a teenager). He has two really big problems though.
One, he sees himself as a big brother, while the swamp chickens see him as a parent. And beyond that… for Mack, Joey and Bug, he is Daddy. Jake, for all that he has filled the role of a parent his entire life — will never say he has three sons and two daughters. He can’t, because part of him is still waiting their real Daddy to come out of the woodwork and beat him black and blue for it.
Two, Jake is terrified of becoming his father, but he is so much like his father that it gives him nightmares. Nightmares that lead him to the same vices that his father had. But as it turns out, no matter how much he drinks — he still never wants to hurt his kids.
OOOO yes, this is the real kicker. Jake reacts violently to being parented. He was so ridiculously parentified as a young child that anyone trying to parent him just feels like a joke or an insult. He scoffed and laughed when Javy’s parents tried, like offering someone an umbrella when they’re soaking wet, or trying to discipline an adult with a time out. Jake thinks he’s so removed from being a child that the idea of someone caring for him is ludicrous.
The moment one of the grandadmirals buys him a present, he unwraps it, smiles and hands it to one of the kids without breaking conversation. He gets handed a plate at family dinner, but serves the kids seconds off his plate instead of eating it himself.
He gets burnt while cooking? He doesn’t cry out or make a noise, he just tends to it himself quietly, quickly and if one of the grandadmirals tries to so much as hand him a bandaid, he snaps that he’s fine.
Their childhood left scars on all of them, but Jake most of all.

it’s not in the list, but it does feel unconventional, a Divorce AU for Javi/Amelia?
I actually like this idea— not sticking to just the list and sending any unconventional AU that comes to mind~
They had married young. Like really young, Amelia was twenty two, Javi was twenty one, something something young love, and college romance.
They had two kids, but shit got hard when Javi had to be away frequently, because of his tours, and Amelia started getting fed up.
It didn’t end good. They ended up dividing the custody of the kids, the son, Hazel, with Amelia, and the daughter, Adelyn, with Javi.
They also decided to never speak again, since they parted ways. The kids were small, Hazel being three, and Adelyn being one. They missed each other like shit, but a deal was a deal.
And they probably would never have, ever, again— especially with the both of them trying to move on with their lives, and the kids growing up, and life in itself getting busy.
Cut to more than sixteen years later, where you have a very keen, seventeen year old Adelyn, trying to drive, and an equally less keen Javi, yelling instructions at her, sitting there in half panic, waiting for the moment she’d crash into a traffic barricade or something.
She had spent her entire 16th year learning how to drive, and Javi had promised her her driving license for her seventeenth.
Well, fuck. She did pass her test, at seventeenth, and yes, now she was a licensed driver. And worse, she was taking Javi around on a tour of this new city they had moved to.
“TEN AND TWO ADELYN— THAT IS NINE AND SIX YOUNG LADY ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL— EYES ON THE ROAD— DON’T LOOK AT YOUR PHONE?!?”
As expected, five seconds later, Adelyn groans, “DAD CAN YOU SHUT UP FOR A SECOND—“ and it’s those five seconds, in which her car crashes against the one in front of theirs.
Javi’s smug “I told you so” smirk infuriates Adelyn as a young man, probably in his early twenties, emerges from the passenger seat of the car, and knocks on Javi’s window— no doubt, to argue.
So, while Adelyn is banging her head against her steering wheel, cursing the over the top, idiotic human being she calls her father, Javi gets out of the car, and politely talks to the young man, who is ready to come to blows with him.
Nobody disrespects Adelyn’s father, though, and she steps out of her car, to indeed, defend him, and punches the guy so now he’s lying flat on the floor— there’s a crowd gathered around them.
WELP.
Then another lady emerges from the other car, the one the boy was driving, and calmly— so calmly that it felt like she was about to pull out a gun and commit murder— she asks, “what is the problem”
Javi is Ready to defend his daughter from anything, and turns around to face the girl, and… is shocked to realise, its Amelia.
What are the chances—
The kids are still arguing but time seems to have stopped for Javi and Amelia. They’re just staring at each other, mouths hanging open, emotions overflowing, as they are reminded of all the time they had spent together, all the love they had felt for each other, once upon a time.
Too many emotions, worst of all, “I LOVE YOU. I STILL LOVE YOU. I STILL MISS YOU” in both of their eyes, a little sadness because of having parted ways with no intention to ever meet, hesitation for the lack of knowledge of the other’s life— did they get married again? Neither of them had, but the other didn’t know that— but the expression in their eyes, it’s almost as if they’re taken back an entire lifetime ago, when they used to still be in love.
Maybe they can come a little closer, maybe travel back in time just a little bit more…
The kids now turn to Amelia and Javi— the boy apparently being Hazel, Amelia and Javi’s son, and both children urging Javi and Amelia to say something, take their side.
What they don’t expect, oh course, is for the two supposed strangers to almost burst into tears.
“Javi?”
“Amelia—“
And imagine their confusion, when they see the older two coming closer, and almost leaning in for a kiss, before the bewildered kids interrupt, with a “WHAT THE FUCK—“
This was gonna be complicated to explain...
Bonus:
Once the explaining is done, Amelia does ask Javi out on a date.
Fervent opposition from the kids. “You can’t be serious????”
The kids hate each other, initially. “I have to be a sibling to HIM/HER?”
But as they see how Javi and Amelia are with each other, how happy they are, together, how they hold hands while they’re doing whatever work they’re doing with just one hand, and don’t let go unless someone actively points out, they realise they’re actually still so very deeply in love.
Or how Javi just gets lost in her eyes, when she’s talking about something.
Or how Amelia can’t take her eyes off of him, when he’s playing some song.
They find their parents old common friends— Olliie Akana and Aiyon, and Javi’s sister, Izzy, and her wife, Fern, and try to dig up what exactly went wrong between their parents the first time. They don’t want them repeating the same mistakes— they want this to work, they want their parents to be happy~
Hazel and Adelyn too, over time, grow tolerant of each other, in fact, working together to get their parents together again.
Yeah, no, Amelia and Javi are never splitting up again. Not if Hazel and Adelyn can help it. Even if it means having to put up with the new sibling’s obnoxious ass for the rest of their lives~
Thanks for the ask :3

7 More of My Favourite Horror (Adjacent) Movies and Why You Should Watch Them
(Not in any particular order or subgenre. TW are vague, spoiler free, and from my memory, but you should Google any of these before you watch them. Not all triggers are listed because it’s horror and stuff like death and murder is common)
Part 1 here!
1. Fractured
Tumblr media
A man waits in a hospital for his daughter and wife to return from some tests, but they seem to have gone missing.
If you like being sad and also confused (like me), then this is a great film for you! Don’t worry, the end will clear things up, but until then you’ll have a hundred of your own theories developing. Definitely a movie that you have to pay attention to, but it’s not difficult once the mystery begins.
Scary: 1/10
Gore: 2/10
Disturbing: 4/10
Psychological: 9/10
Actual genre: psychological thriller
TW: insanity
2. The House
Tumblr media
An animated anthology of three short films all centring around the same house.
Gorgeous animation, fast paced, and constantly off-putting. Each of the short films is vastly different, but they’re all very unsettling in their own way. The second was my personal favourite, but I’d say the first was the most disturbing. The third one is a nice way to ease you out of the absolute horror of the first two so you can go about your day without letting the film consume your thoughts.
Scary: 3/10, 3/10, 1/10
Gore: 0/10, 0/10, 0/10
Disturbing: 6/10, 5/10, 2/10
Psychological: 3/10, 4/10, 2/10
Actual genre: horror comedy
3. I Saw The Devil
Tumblr media
After a man’s wife is brutally murdered, he puts his life on hold to hunt down the killer and make him suffer.
As far as non-horror movies go, this is by far one of the most disturbing. The murderer is one of the worst you’ll see play an extended part in the movie, which would be awful if it weren’t for the fact that most of the film is the protagonist purposely letting the killer get away just so he can hunt him down and attack him again. The protagonist isn’t an objectively good character either, but there is something very satisfying about watching him take out his extended revenge.
Scary: 3/10
Gore: 7/10
Disturbing: 7/10
Psychological: 3/10
Actual genre: action thriller
TW: rape, sexual assault, graphic gore, cannibalism
4. Hard Candy
Tumblr media
A 14 year old girl decides to meet up alone with an older man she met on the internet and go to his house.
Elliott Page my beloved. One of his earlier works, but still amazing. I’m not sure if these one really qualifies as horror, as it’s definitely more of a revenge fantasy, but the first 20 or so minutes had me very worried. Definitely an unsettling atmosphere, but after the first little bit it’s absolutely amazing. Would recommend to anyone, but especially to women who are tired of seeing other women and girls victimized by the narrative.
Scary: 2/10
Gore: 2/10
Disturbing: 4/10
Psychological: 3/10
Actual genre: psychological thriller
TW: pedophilia, surgery, suicide
5. Last Night in Soho
Tumblr media
A young girl rents a room while off at college and starts dreaming of the life of the girl who lived there before her in the 60s.
This movie made me cry more than once (but in a good way). I genuinely forgot it was a horror movie for the first 45 minutes or so, and then was very rudely reminded. Gives off the same vibes as Coraline, but in a more adult sense. Absolutely gorgeous cinematography and the character arcs make me feel so many emotions. Also it has Matt Smith, and that immediately sold me on it. Another movie I would recommend especially to women.
Scary: 3/10
Gore: 3/10
Disturbing: 6/10
Psychological: 8/10
Actual genre: psychological horror
TW: rape, prostitution, suicide, insanity
6. As the Gods Will
Tumblr media
Every high schooler in Japan is abducted by aliens and made to compete in murder games to determine who is the most worthy.
Absolutely batshit insane movie with some of the weirdest… everything. Genuinely hilarious at times, but also immensely gory and occasionally heart touching. I urge you to go into this with zero expectations. Just have fun. Probably the type of movie to watch with your friends when you’re drunk, or alone at 3am when you’re sleep deprived.
Scary: 2/10
Gore: 6/10
Disturbing: 5/10
Psychological: 3/10
Actual genre: supernatural horror
7. Tusk
Tumblr media
A podcaster visits an old man’s remotely located home to interview him.
OKAY HEAR ME OUT. I know this made the rounds on TikTok for being awful, but it’s seriously one of my favourite. Also batshit insane, but with a perfect blend of comedy, psychological horror, and really creepy practical effects. There’s no one to root for in this film; everyone is awful. But seriously, a great movie to watch if you have no expectations. I’ve seen it 3 times. Also, oddly specific, but I feel like if you like Angel’s of Death for the psychological aspects, then you’ll like this too.
Scary: 3/10
Gore: 2/10
Disturbing: 6/10
Psychological: 4/10
Actual genre: body horror comedy

Just As Long As We're Together - Judy Blume
"Can you have more than one best friend?
Stephanie’s best friend is Rachel. Since second grade they’ve shared everything, good and bad. But now it’s the start of seventh grade and Alison has just moved to their neighborhood. Stephanie immediately clicks with her—she’s cool and fun and totally humble even though she’s the daughter of a famous actress. Stephanie hopes all three of them can be best friends, but the more she pushes Alison on Rachel, the more Rachel seems to drift away. Is it possible to have two best friends? Or is it true that two’s company, three’s a crowd?"
Read Date - July 2024
Length - 202 pages
Genre - Realistic Fiction, Coming Of Age, Contemporary
Rating - 7/10
Stars - ★★★★☆
Notes - This book being about middle schoolers is sweet, because I didn’t read when I was a teen. It’s like a little insight into the world of what could have been. The lingering plot line of the talking dog is one that is sweet. They’re all young, and they’re gullible (except for one of the girls) and they still have their youthful whimsy.  Bruce having nightmares about nuclear war is interesting and provides depth to his character. Them writing letters to the president was bittersweet, and its nice that his family helps out. The girls finding out that Stephanie’s mom is famous was another interesting scene because you see how the girls are so shocked by it, but to Stephanie, it’s just normal. There’s nothing extravagant about it for her. Alyson revealing that she lied to be friends with Stephanie and Rachel was adorable and it shows that-- they’re just kids. Kids having fun and navigating life. Rachel getting transferred to advanced math makes Stephanie feel like they’re drifting apart even though they’re still together. The reveal that Stephanie’s parents are splitting up was shocking and I wasn’t expecting that. Peter sharing his shampoo with Stephanie was adorable, and i think its a nice way to show interest between the two. The girls obsession with periods reminds me of my own friendships i had growing up with girls, where we all sit there talking about our future and what we want to develop. The mentions of weight are interesting but i’m unsure how productive they are. A lot of the times, when weight is mentioned in a book, it’s a bad thing. Stephanie doesn’t take it as a bad thing, and instead, uses it against her father. Stephanie lashing out at Iris is realistic to how children may react to new relationships in the family, especially this early into the separation. Steph still has hope for her parents, no matter how wrong she is about it. Bruce winning his position for the peace project was a smart way to write a solution to the nightmares that have been happening about nuclear war. Bruce wants peace, it’s as simple as that! Rachel and Stephanie growing apart is sad but makes sense, because sometimes you just grow apart as people. That’s life. The blowout between the two was a really good scene and i liked the way it played out if im being honest. Rachel pents up her anger until it comes spilling out of her. Stephanie getting her period on her birthday was a cute moment where she finally feels grown up. Them getting their first kiss the same night was also so sweet, and she really did grow up! Alison finding out her mom was pregnant was also a big twist that i wasn’t expecting! Her wanting to keep it secret makes sense, especially when Stephanie’s mom is friends with Alison’s mom. She’s worried that she wont be good enough as a daughter if her mom has a biological child, since she’s adopted. Rachel and Stephanie making up with each other was a bit rushed but it was a cute scene. It recreated the things they did as kids and its a nice call back. The cliffhanger was nice and didn’t cause enough tension, and you wouldnt NEED a sequel to exist (thought it’s set up for one).

Summer Post-Depression
It’s remarkably lonely coming out of such a crushing depression. Especially on the brink of change like this. Leaving the blanket of suicidal thoughts and the pillows of my prolonged girlhood is utterly terrifying. I, a girl who honestly did not plan to make it past the notable yet small age of thirteen, now have to pick universities, do my a-levels, wait patiently for exam results to know if my school will let me keep studying with them. My whole life is a painful and dreadful limbo now.
Summer holidays are always an end of an era in my life as my fall forsaken birthday comes closer yet again. This summer is decidedly my last as a girl and my first as a woman. Why? Because I finally don’t want to kill myself so badly that I need to make something of myself instead of just making sure the self survived. It clearly did as this is not a post mortem (although I may do one on my birthday, for the girl that will surely wither away for my more adult self). The past six months have been full of this, cramming the half of my classes I missed between gym sessions and fucking valorant matches has kept my mind occupied. Until now. Now I am sitting in the polish countryside, typing this on a sun warmed chair swing enjoying the last hours of silence before my aunt, her ape-ish husband and their rotund son come back. Nothing against my art of course, and every day I wonder what she did so wrong to be cursed with sons instead of daughters.
Either way, the peace will be over within the hour as my mother and her new boyfriend come back from their run. I’ve never met a man more loudly and confidently stupid. He is obtrusive. That is the only way I can describe him without being downright nasty and I’m really trying to stop doing that. Sadly after this holiday ad the following one in Paris with my father and his empty headed racist bimbo small-minded small-chested rotten in the soul wife I will be forced to live with my mother and her boyfriend in some sad new build house with his untrained poorly vaccinated dog and the fucking outdoor cat that I will be undoubtedly violently allergic to. Maybe I am a bit of a mean person. For context, my father’s wife forced me out of my own house (after having plunged me into living with her for a year, the attempts made during that year and the memories from that time are long forgotten) and my mother acts like a complete fucking retard as soon as her boyfriend is involved (for example, forgetting I exist, fucking off for two weeks at a time after my beloved childhood dog passed away, and most insultingly letting him call me ‘scary’). I had planned for this blog to be profound and not just a rant.
Circling back to the end of my girlhood and my subsequent rebirth as a woman (or just a teenage girl, god knows what kind of metamorphosis I will commit to). To simplify the goals of this transformation for myself, I’ve made a simply list.
• Get a boyfriend
• Go to school for at least 4/5 days of the week (I only did one full week of school last year about halfway through the spring)
• Fuck previously stated boyfriend (I might be scared of sex but I’ll totally get over that if he’s hot enough)
• Maybe get a girlfriend instead because dick is gross
• Go to the gym three times a week at least
• Plot some kind of cosmic level revenge on my sister who went fucking crazy and refused to do my hair before my school dance.
A very achievable list of goals for the summer and the following year of my life.
Back to the summer. I’m attending a wedding where there is apparently a very rich young man a year or two older than me that’s just finished studying at a boarding school in Switzerland who I’m supposed to be meeting. And he’s supposed to be handsome on top of that. What a catch (I’ll update you to weather he’s actually handsome or not). Perhaps a decent candidate to lose my ‘hold hands romantically’ virginity to. It is very hard being old and an ex-ugly still kind of strange neurodivergent woman. And now I sound like a social justice warrior.
Anyways, unbothered silence is over as is my writing session this fine morning. So I hope this serves as a half- decent introduction to my summer and my blog. Sorry that this is all over the place, I’m not good with introductions.

Day 10: Farmer's market
Pepper was running around her parents as fast as her little legs allowed her, every now and then running up the the more colourfully and brighter decorated booths or stands.
“Pepper, honey, please be careful, you wouldn’t wanna get lost!” She heard her mom yell from somewhere behind her while she was admiring the various vegetables, fruits, and other things that she didn’t quite know the names of. Especially greater and greener vegetables with a bigger number next to them grabbed her attention and she lifted them though not without an effort.
“Mommy, daddy, look,” She ran back to her parents clumsily, and presented her findings, “lettuce!”
“It sure is lettuce.” Her father smiled.
“Can we buy it?”
“I’m sorry, but we can’t,” Her mom apologized and patted Pepper on the head. Seeing her daughter’s questioning look she added, “Your dad doesn’t like lettuce.”
“Ohhh.” Pepper hummed and then frowned. “Aww, but it looks so cool.”
“Hey, hey,” Her dad crouched next to her, “no sadness allowed, young lady.”
“But I want it!” Pepper folded her arms and pouted ruefully.
“Well, sometimes we can’t have certain things in life even when we really want them, but do you know what the solution is to such things? One that works each and every time?” Her father put his hand on Pepper’s shoulder making her look him in the eyes.
“What’s that?” She looked back and forth between her parents.
“Laughter!” He took both lettuces from Pepper’s hands and held them against his face in the place of his eyes making Pepper laugh. “See? Even if we have nothing, we always have laughter."
Pepper nodded with a smile on her face. "I see it."
“Alright you two, enough of that, let’s give those two lettuces back,” She said while smiling fondly, “we can’t take those back without paying…”
“Why not?” Pepper perked up.
“Well, it’s just a bad thing to do.”
“Ohh, okay.”
The three of them started walking again with Pepper's mother carrying the bags while her father held the two lettuces and waved at the man from the booth who was observing them. While he was busy talking with the seller Pepper turned to her mom.
“Can’t we just give this person those green, paper things like everyone else and get what we want?”
“It’s not that easy, honey." Her mother smiled and hugged her from the side. “One day you’ll understand. For now, we’re going to buy some carrots, cucumbers, and potatoes. You like those, yeah?”
“I guess they’re alright.” Pepper shrugged. “But we were eating those yesterday, two days ago, and three days ago too I think!”
Nonetheless, they purchased the mentioned vegetables and made their way back home. Just in time it seemed, because once in front of it, a sudden chill made itself comfortable enough in the air to cause Pepper to shake in her boots even as she ran through the doorstep.
After her parents took care of the groceries, her dad noticed his daughter rubbing her eyes and yawning.
“Tired?”
“Yes, I suddenly feel so sleepy. Can I sleep for a while?”
“Of course, come one, you had a long day.” He picked Pepper up and carried the little girl to her room, next lowering her onto the bed and covering her with the thin blanket. “All good?”
“Mhm, still kinda cold though.” Pepper clutched the blanket and tried to wrap it tighter around herself.
Her dad went quiet for a while and then went out of the room, returning back with a bigger blanket.
“Here.” He wrapped it around Pepper’s small frame who smiled. “How about now?”
“Better.”
“Great, keep it for the night as well, it’s getting colder with each day.”
“Yay! …But I thought this was your and mom’s blanket?” Pepper looked up at the towering person.
“It is, but don’t worry, mom and dad will be fine, we have another one in the closet.” He kissed her forehead and after making sure she was comfortable, turned off the lights and closed the door.
“One day you’ll understand.”
And she did. One day it came to her, it came to her that her dad actually really liked lettuce, that her parents didn’t have an additional blanket in the closet, and that radiators being turned off during colder seasons weren’t the case in most houses.
However, she also remembered one more thing.
“Come on, you can do it,” She whispered to her reflection in the small backstage area.
“And now, a new, very young and aspiring stand-up comedian will take her place on the stage. Don’t let her age deter you, folks, she has already performed a few times and never disappointed - Pepper Clark!” She heard from the stage and after taking one last look at herself to adjust her hat and suspenders smiled and got out in front of her audience.
“Welcome ladies and gents! I guarantee you a performance full of amusement and remember, even if we have nothing else to make us feel better, we always have laughter. Now, how about we start with a classic?” She eyed the glances from the audience, some curious, some sceptical and revealed her rubber chicken.
Outside, Pepper eyed the priceless papers clutched tightly in her hands and hugged them to her face, her breath still not quite slowing down. She felt tears gathering in her eyes that she immediately wiped away.
She set off once she gathered herself a bit, her grip as strong as ever.
The night was already in full swing when she arrived in front of the small house, but even when shrouded in darkness she could admire its details. Details that not so long ago were much uglier, the doors that not so long ago the house residents barely managed to close were now gone, replaced with new, sturdier ones. She grabbed their doorknob and went inside.
“Mom, dad, I got us some money again!”

THE PRINCESS WEI YANG - 164 PART 1
CHAPTER 164: Ten Thousand Vermin
It was late in the morning, and the Li Residence was still silent. Li Wei Yang slowly walked down to the dungeon. Zhao Yue said in a low voice: "Miss, General Sun has been interrogating them all night, and they refused to explain anything."
After all, General Sun was born for the battlefield, and he had countless fierce soldiers under his command, and his ways of torture were also extraordinary. The fact that these four people could endure his methods for so long should not be underestimated.
Zhao Yue glanced at Li Wei Yang's expression and said: "Miss, I think it's better to just kill them, why bother?"
"There is no clam shell in this world that cannot be pried open, and there is no mouth that can never speak. They are much more useful alive than as corpses." Li Wei Yang replied with a smile, and went down the steps. This is the second time she has come to the Li family's dungeon. The last time when she dealt with the Jiang brothers here, it can be said to have been a great success. But this time, she was not facing a general who became famous at a young age, but a group of murderers. No matter how vicious people like Jiang Hai are, they all want to save face. Once their ideological defenses are broken, they can be completely defeated psychologically. But these secret guards are a group of people with no self-esteem and no bottom line. No matter how you humiliate them, they won't be moved, so it's very difficult.
General Sun, whose real name is Sun Chongyao, was a famous and valiant general. Although he is over fifty years old, he is still strong and imposing due to his long military career, and his movements are majestic. But at this moment, his expression was extremely ugly. When he saw Li Wei Yang arriving at the dungeon, he couldn't help but said: "Princess, this is not the place you should be." Although his tone was serious, there was a hint of concern in his eyes. It was obvious that he felt a young girl like Li Wei Yang would be frightened if she saw the blood stains in the dungeon.
Li Wei Yang glanced at the four people hanging on the wall to one side, smiled slightly, and said: "Is there no progress yet, General Sun?"
After working hard for so long, General Sun caught these people. He originally wanted to torture them and kill them, but Li Wei Yang said that keeping them was still useful, so he patiently stayed with them for so long! He wanted to get some useful information from them. He had interrogated hundreds of spies in the army, but he had never met one who was so stubborn. After struggling all night, he didn't even managed to find out their names, but he had already used all the available punishments. Yet, these people not only didn't speak, they didn't even raise their eyes to look at him, causing him to use all his methods in vain, and he was so angry that he didn't know what to do.
"My men broke three whips. Unfortunately, no one would reveal a word. Name, age, identity, nothing." General Sun said honestly.
Although he was not as emotional as his wife about his daughter's death, he still suppressed huge grief in his heart. Sun Yanjun had been the apple of his eye since she was a child, with an innocent, lively, kind and selfless temperament. Because of this, he was really worried that she would suffer a loss outside, so before she got married, he had given her countless instructions to be cautious. Speak, don't do things you shouldn't do, and especially listen to your husband's instructions to avoid getting into trouble. Who would have thought that something like this would happen just after she got married? If he had known this earlier, he would have refused his daughter's request and married her directly to his lieutenant, keeping her safely under his eye for the rest of his life.
Li Wei Yang looked at General Sun's white streaked hair, feeling slightly sad in her heart, and said: "General Sun, I have my own way to deal with these people, please leave them to me."
General Sun was surprised and said: "Princess, aren't you afraid?"
Li Wei Yang's tone was very light: "I'm afraid, I'm afraid of blood, I'm afraid of screams, I'm even afraid of the dust and rats in the dungeon, but when I think of Yanjun's death, I'm not afraid of anything. So, please leave these people to me and let me do my part for her."
General Sun was stunned for a moment, then said: "Okay, I believe you."
Li Wei Yang smiled and said: "Then please go out and rest first. I have already ordered my servants to prepare the side room. When you have rested, my father said that he would like to treat you to tea."
General Sun nodded. When he arrived at the Li Residence, it was impossible for Li Xiaoran not to know since he made such a big ruckus. The most likely reason was that he felt guilty about Sun Yanjun's death, so he deliberately sold such a favor to himself, and even secretly cooperated with him. Since he was being so polite, he naturally had to pay a visit to the master of the house. Thinking about this, he said: "Then I will leave first. If you need anything, call me at any time."
After he left, the dungeon became quiet again.
Li Wei Yang turned around slowly at this time and carefully looked at the four bloody people hanging on the wall.
General Sun obviously hated them to the extreme. After one night, they were basically covered with whip marks. Li Wei Yang smiled and looked at the man with the scar on his face, and said: "I'm not interested in anything else. I just want to know who insulted Sun Yanjun."
None of the four people responded, and did not even raise their heads to look at Li Wei Yang, as if they didn't care about her existence.
Li Wei Yang sneered, as expected, they are all hard boned.
Standing next to them were the executioners specially left by General Sun. Seeing that they refused to answer Li Wei Yang's questions, they immediately whipped them hard. The four people groaned at the beginning, and finally their voices gradually became lower and silent, but they remained motionless and refused to speak.
Li Wei Yang looked at them calmly and said: "I have many ways to make you speak, but I don't like those cruel methods. I will ask you questions carefully now, and you will answer them properly. Wouldn't it be nice to die peacefully?"
Among the four, it was the scarred man who suddenly took the lead to raise his head. He slowly stared at Zhao Yue next to Li Wei Yang, and smiled silently.
Zhao Yue couldn't help but tremble, and she whispered: "Miss, I know him. His name is Jing Zhe, and he is a first-class secret guard."
"Oh, Jing Zhe. Look, once you are familiar with each other, don't we count as acquaintances?" Li Wei Yang smiled softly.
Jing Zhe sneered and said something in a low voice. Zhao Yue didn't hear it clearly. She frowned and leaned forward to listen again, but she heard Jing Zhe smile and say, "You're just a little bitch, you don't deserve to know my name."
Zhao Yue was furious and said: "Miss, this dog dares to scold you! Let this servant kill him!"
Li Wei Yang spoke unhurriedly. Looking at Jing Zhe's face, she slowly said: "The tongue is meant for talking, you scolding me is not wrong. The reason why I let you live is not because of my heart is soft, but because I want you to know that sometimes, living is more painful than dying. Believe it or not, it will soon be your turn to beg me, beg me to kill you."
Her tone was gentle and her expression was very peaceful. These four people saw it and treated her with great contempt. During their training, in order to test their loyalty and endurance, they had been subjected to all kinds of torture. How could they take Wei Yang's trivial tricks seriously?
Li Wei Yang ordered someone to prepare a chair and serve hot tea, obviously intending to keep watching. Seeing the disdainful looks on the four people's faces, Zhao Yue couldn't help but sneer in her heart. "You underestimate my young lady. You will know later what it means to be miserable."
Li Wei Yang ordered: "Get what I ordered."
Zhao Yue followed Li Wei Yang's instructions and fetched a jar of coarse salt. Then Li Wei Yang looked at the jar of salt in her hand and sighed: "Do you know, Sun Yanjun just got married and was dreaming of spending her life with the man she liked."
Then, she raised her hand and ordered people to rub salt on Jing Zhe's body. Immediately, Jing Zhe let out an earth-shattering scream as salt was sprinkled on his wound. It was even more brutal than the original whip attack. Jing Zhe's face immediately turned pale, his forehead was covered with cold sweat, and he almost fainted from the pain. However, the person next to him had already pierced the acupuncture point in his ear with a steel needle, and he was not allowed to pass out, so he could only bear this kind of torment. It felt as if ten thousand knives were cutting his flesh at the same time.
Li Wei Yang sighed and said in a low tone, "Not only that, she was also pregnant and happily told me that she will be a mother soon."
Jing Zhe was still screaming loudly, and Li Wei Yang laughed softly: "She is not your enemy, she is just an unarmed woman, and she is also pregnant. I really want to know, when you take action, don't you have a moment of pity?"
Jing Zhe spit out a mouthful of blood. Although the pain on his body was unbearable, he still sneered. But the other three people looking at him had frightened expressions on their faces. Because at this time, the executioner followed Li Wei Yang's instructions and actually took another jar, scooped out honey from it and applied it on Jing Zhe's body. The closer to the wound, the more he applied, and the yellow crystals condensed on Jing Zhe's skin. His whole body was mixed with the smell of blood, sweat, and sweetness, which was so unimaginable strange.
Jing Zhe and others had no idea what Li Wei Yang wants to do. Applying salt will naturally make people go crazy with pain. What's the use of honey? Is it to sweeten him to death? Jing Zhe suppressed the severe pain and laughed loudly: "Are you at the end of your game? You'd better run away as far as you can and stop putting on an act in front of me."
Li Wei Yang lowered her head, smiled, and said: "I was sitting too close, and I could smell the sweetness."
They didn't know what she was talking about. At this moment, the executioner came over again, carrying an iron bucket in his hand. Jing Zhe and others didn't take it seriously at first, but when they saw clearly what was in the iron bucket, their expressions changed.
"I heard that ants, reptiles, and mice like the taste of honey the most, and I also added molasses to the honey. The taste must be great." Li Wei Yang said quietly, with a somewhat innocent look on her face. It seemed like she was seriously discussing whether the animals in this tin can really enjoy these flavors.
Before Jing Zhe could react, the executioner had already emptied the iron jar over his head. In an instant, ants, reptiles, and rats were crawling all over his body.
"Ah-ah-ah-" Jing Zhe's scream made everyone stunned. Especially the other three people who had been indifferent to the torture. They looked in horror at the dense ants on Jing Zhe's body, the black reptiles the size of thumb caps, and even three gray mice biting his wounds. Jing Zhe was covered in wounds, the skin and flesh were split open, and the pain of being bitten by insects was worse than being sliced with a knife.
Li Wei Yang's voice was very calm: "They've been starving for a whole night. The insects eat the gallbladder grass that grows in the mountains. Their saliva itself is venom, which will make the wounds all over your body extremely painful and swollen. As for the ants...I guess I don't need to tell you, are they very itchy ?"
In a matter of moments, Jing Zhe's body began to swell and fester, and even his eyelids were covered with ants. The pain from his wounds was doubled and it was unbearable to the bone, making him truly understand what it meant to live worst than dying, and he fought hard. He screamed for his life. At this moment, the ants smelled the scent of honey mixed with blood, and crawled darkly into his eyes, nose, and ears, making his whole body tremble violently.
Jing Zhe let out a shrill scream, as if he had fallen into the deepest pit of hell.
These secret guards now know that Li Wei Yang's punishment are more cruel than any torture they have ever experienced, and this kind of unbearable method will make people completely crazy. Half an hour later, the skin all over Jing Zhe's body had festered, and ants had burrowed into his internal organs. He could no longer say a single word.
Li Wei Yang smiled slightly, looked at the three people next to him, and said: "In another hour, his skin and flesh will be eaten up by ants. Do you also want to give it a try? It's really interesting!" The sweetness in the voice was laced with malice and it made the other three people tremble in their bones. Suddenly, Jing Zhe's screams stopped, as if his tongue and vocal cords had been bitten off by ants...
The person beside him no longer dared to resist, and was the first to speak, saying: "The person who raped Sun Yanjun at that time was Jing Zhe, he was the only one! I didn't do it! I really didn't!"
The other person was also afraid of falling behind: "Yes, it's all Jing Zhe! The one Princess Anguo trusts the most is him!"
Li Wei Yang looked at the other silent person. If she remembered correctly, Princess Anguo called him Hui Nu last time and said, "Oh, is that how it is?"
At this time, Jing Zhe's entire body had been overwhelmed by the terrifying ants and reptiles. There were no screams or breathing sounds, only the sound of animals squeaking and sucking flesh. Only Hui Nu's face flickered, and he finally said: "I...I don't know..."
Li Wei Yang's smile deepened, and she ordered the executioner to bring the remaining ants in the iron bucket closer to Hui Nu: "You know, I never like people who lie. I will be more cruel to those who lie than those who don't speak."
Before the thing came close, Hui Nu screamed and said: "The one who ruptured her heart was Jing Zhe, the one who raped her was the two of them, the one who cut her stomach was Princess Anguo... I, I am responsible for leaving her in that alley——"
Oh, I see. Li Wei Yang turned to look at the other two people: "So, you are both lying? You really disappoint me." She waved her hand and said, "Throw them inside the bull pen until they die." It's was said very casually, but the implication is very bloody and terrifying. Everyone knows that once bulls go beserk, they don't distinguish between male and female, and they will even end up with their stomachs ripped open or trampled by the hooves of the bull. The two people became more and more terrified, struggling with all their might, but Li Wei Yang ordered someone to cut the tendons in their hands and feet, and had them dragged out.
Hui Nu looked at Li Wei Yang in fear. He had never encountered such a terrifying woman. Princess Anguo liked to torture people, but she didn't have such a terrifying method. He really didn't know how she came up with it! It's so strange and cruel!
Li Wei Yang sighed and said: "Are you curious how I came up with such a strange method? It's not unusual. There are many ways to torture people in the places I have stayed, yet I have survived them all. But you couldn't survive it, which shows how incompetent the so-called secret guards are."
Zhao Yue heard this and looked at Li Wei Yang strangely, not knowing what she was talking about. In fact, life in the cold palace is not limited to the punishment of the imperial family. Those perverted and twisted eunuchs can think of all kinds of method. The only difference was that they would show mercy and not cause any deaths, but this way, the torture would be doubled.
"Hui Nu, do you know why I left you alone?" Li Wei Yang asked.
Hui Nu didn't dare to look at the person next to him who had been eaten by ants and was now only a skeleton wrapped in skin. He tried hard to focus his eyes on Li Wei Yang's delicate face, but the effect was too weak. He couldn't speak at all. Li Wei Yang waved her hand, and the people next to her immediately disposed of Jing Zhe's body. She said calmly: "Speak now, and remember to be honest."
After seeing the terrible fate of the three people just now, who would dare to be dishonest? Hui Nu nodded in fear. The executioners on the side had their heads lowered and did not dare to look at Li Wei Yang. However, Zhao Yue was very satisfied. There was countless blood on the hands of these secret guards. They did not just perform tasks, killing has become their habit. In their spare time, they even compare who has killed more people. Many of their victims are innocent, old, weak, women and children. Such people deserve to die.
Hui Nu said: "I don't know why you left me alone, but no matter what you ask me to do, I will do it. I just want you to give me a quick death."
Li Wei Yang smiled and said: "As long as you take this medicine, I will let you know what you should do."
Hui Nu took one look at the red pill that Zhao Yue brought to his lips, raised his neck and swallowed it.
Li Wei Yang's voice was extremely gentle: "If you are so obedient, I will naturally not kill you. There are still many places where you can be used. However, after taking this pill, you must take the antidote every ten days. Otherwise, I'm afraid your pain will be a hundred times worse than that of Jing Zhe."
Hui Nu lowered his head, gritted his teeth and said, "Hui Nu has met his master."
Li Wei Yang disdained the use of such a cruel method to convince the secret guards, but they killed Sun Yanjun and used such brutal means. There was no humanity at all from the beginning to the end. To deal with such people, being soft-hearted will only encourage their arrogance. In the final analysis, these murderous killers are despicable at heart. If you say it nicely and bribe them with money, they will still look down on you. Only if you let them realize that you are more cruel and ruthless than them will they bow to you. Only a strong person can make others fear and admire him. Of course, this method varies from person to person and is not suitable for everyone.

Faye Wong's first post-birth appearance (2006)
Since she gave birth in Beijing in May of this year, Faye Wong has rarely appeared in public. According to sources, Faye Wong took her young daughter Li Yan who was born with a congenital cleft lip to the United States for treatment, along with Li Yapeng.
Faye Wong's daughter Dou Jingtong stayed in Beijing to study. Although the Hong Kong gossip magazine "Suddenly Weekly" went to the United States to follow up and took photos of the hospital where Li Yan was to undergo surgery, they still did not get any photos of Faye Wong.
Recently, the author of a blog called "You Never Get Tired of Watching" posted a photo of Faye Wong in the United States. This blog was updated on July 15th, US time.
According to the description by the blog owner, he discovered Faye Wong's family by accident. When the blog owner was shopping, he ran into Li Yapeng pushing a baby stroller at the entrance of a store. Later, when he entered the store, he immediately saw Faye Wong wearing black sunglasses. "Oh my god, this is so cool!" the blog owner couldn't hide his excitement when he wrote in his blog.
Then the blogger continued to follow Faye Wong's family and took a "very precious" photo. Since the blog is private, this photo was not revealed until today, a full three months later.
Since Faye Wong announced her retirement from the music industry, and especially after the news of her young daughter's illness was exposed, her fans tried their best to search for news about her. With the exception of Li Yapeng's three blog posts that mentioned Faye Wong in a few words, there has been very little news about her in the media, and fans' yearning for Faye Wong is still undiminished. Although this photo was only revealed today, I believe fans who like Faye Wong can get temporary comfort.
Faye Wong in Li Yapeng's blog:
Woke up in the middle of the night and was not able to fall asleep. It wasn't because of jet lag or because of endless debates on the Internet, but because my wife said before going to bed: "What should we do about this matter now? Let's forget about the media, we should give an explanation for those well-meaning friends."
After this soft appeal, she fell asleep immediately. She is really lovely in my eyes, even that little bit of good-natured sadness. After being cute, I couldn't allow that bit of sadness to exist in her heart, so I got up and went to the desk to write a blog post. Used this method to solve this little "sorrow".
*****
My wife is bathing Yaner, my mother is preparing breakfast, and I am walking in the yard. It's not that I'm lazy, it's just that they dominate and never give me a chance to intervene. My mother suddenly said with emotion: "It's not easy for you two, you have encountered so many things..." I squinted and looked up at the sun in California: "This is the wealth that God gave us in life." My wife gave me a blank look and said "酸" at a glance. I turned to look at her, she smiled, and I could understand the meaning behind it. I gladly accept it.
*****
The local time in Los Angeles is still September 27th, which is the benefit of jet lag. Yaner wore a beautiful little dress and the English words on the front said "Daddy's Little Princess". I asked what "princess" meant, and my wife said, "Stupid, it's princess." Oh, this is really the best birthday gift I have ever received.

2k12 Shredder - Okay this one imma specify him talking about his kids in the Foot Clan AU because I wanna hear him have general issues with his kids xD
| Talking about family
Tumblr media
"......." He narrows his stare your way a moment "fine I'll discuss my children."
Send 👶 for my muse to talk about (one of) their child(ren)
Angel : "She is the youngest of my three, originally not considered at all when I went to the orphanage that first day. She really was no more than a condition to get her brother. Kids being adopted together is already rare. Casey made it more unlikely he be adopted on his own it just also ruined Angel's own chances of adoption due to his over reactions at the thought. Being younger and more protected from what was going on she was easy to condition into her new life being younger and having Casey focused on making sure to keep their new home. If anything she became leverage to ensure Casey would listen. Outside this? I do tell her stories from my youth and make sure she is entertained with toys. She always has guards with here and trains. Not to the same extents her siblings did at her age. But i'm not trying to polish here skills like with them."
Dad of the year clearly, I started with Angel because sad as it is she sort of has it best out of the three of them. Angel is mostly used to keep casey and even karai in line. The latter being unexpected but he dose make use of it. And because of this Shredder dose sort of in a sense baby Angel. Angel may train herself but it never as harsh as what her older siblings went through. She kind of soiled and given all kinds of dolls. Which seeing how she creepy and rips their heads off might be for the best. Not only dose this sort of help put him in her own favor it can kind of be said she is in his since shes a good tool to use against the others. Compared to her older siblings she has it a bit easier, And seeing how they both watch out for her as well? Yeah she was very much and unexpected advantage.
Karai: "My daughter and by right heir to the clan, so she is held to higher standards. I have been polishing her skills since she had the motor skills. She is all that remains of Teng Shen so I do all that I can to ensure she isn't snuffed out too soon like her mother was. Karai displays perfectly what it is to be of the foot clan. She may go out on her own at times but she has the foresight and skill to back out of any trouble. Though she still isn't ready for solo missions in my mind and has a long way to go when it comes to her future role. Karai dose show she has the potential to be the ruthless leader I am fostering her to become. Her weakness just need to be dealt with, funny for everything I love of her mother is what holds Karai back from what she could be. She is still young there is time to eliminate that all"
Like in cannon, Shredder took Karai and gaslit her into believing he is her father and that Yoshi/ Splinter. And has manipulated her, her whole life. Froced her to basically work out her humanity. Tang Shen was a kind hearted women who easily cared for others and it's pretty clear Shredder tried to get rid of that in his daughter trying to turn her more cold. Likely why despite her skills he never fully let's her have full control on anything feeling she still got work todo. He for sure favors Karai out of the three simply for who her mother is but it's a bit shallow connection seeing how he isn't above using Karai as a pawn when need be. Especially when learning the turtles willingness to help her out. Being favored never really protected her though she just able to get away with a bit more and takes advantage of this when she can. She may not be his blood I'm reality but she has learn a lot of his ways and traits. Sadly she's far more kind hearted and it's seen as weakness. Her vaule to him really is only to to her mother is why in the au where she was killed it saved Casey because killing her would be losing teng shan all over again for Shredder. It break him and make him unable to do the same to Casey who is now all he has left of karai.
Casey: he sighs loud and clear. "I heard word of a trouble making child so I went to look into it and that was when I found him, such a angry child I recognized the anger in him. And I knew they would only try and diminish that anger in him if he stayed there. He was easy enough to bring to my side, tell him he is right tell him I would take both him and his sister which meant Casey fear wouldn’t come true. In that child’s eyes I was his hero. And sure it seemed to help as I took the two in Casey listened best he was able to. Between him and Karan I had two of my best, but praise wasn’t the correct way to motivate Casey. Setting the goal further and further away from his reach no matter how hard he tried always moving the goal line and un ending stretch? That was the best way to handle my son and worked for year. HE craved the validation so much it made it so easy to control him with that. Something so rare he would do just about anything to earn the smallest bit of my good graces just to have it. Until I gave him that mission. Kara I was too much a risk for it, that side so much Ike her mothers was a worry so why not use my son who wanted my praise more than anything? There was an advantage with the fact he wasn’t known by the turtles either. It should have been easy even for him it was fool proof. Until my good for nothing son turned his back on the whole of what this clan stands for! What I stood by for years! Throwing away everything I had planed to finally end that fool Yoshi take everything away from him just when he started to rebuild his life. It would have broken him but my son tarnished it all! All for Raphael.”
Of course I put Casey last XD I also did this is age order/ assecensing order but still xD wellll as we know Shredder views all his kids basically as tools for his own use. Angel mainly severs to be used against her older siblings why she kind of gets a bit more of a eaiser life so to keep her favor. Karai is basically Shredder wanting to take what wasn't his and make it his/ him. Turn Karai into a mirror of himself. That leaves Casey, meant to be purely a weapon. Shredder got his weapon and casey got cheated out of a childhood and well his own will even. Casey is less than a person to his father nothing more than an weapon to be used and follow orders. That what Casey was shaped to become.like tempering metal to form shape. But no one can really tell Casey much of anything seeing how Casey couldn't prevent falling in love with Raohael and that starting a chain of rebellion for Casey ;3; Shredder will still try to reclaim his weapon. Even with Casey going against him sadly Casey won't be free Shredder is died.

Your ending is near!!
You broke me and I let you
I continue to stay broken because it’s nothing new
You continue to believe you have all of the control because you do
No idea how to gain it back
In so much pain it just might cause a heart attack
You stole my innocence and my youth
You abused me and there was nothing I could do
Every time I caught you in the act
You pretended it was me that couldn’t do simple math
Psychologically taking full advantage
And then expecting me to self soothe and self bandage
I was just a child you stupid prick!!!
The things you made me endure were beyond sick
I was confused because I had never known real love
You took that and ran with it and made me believe you were enough
Finally I grew strong enough and wise enough to see
You never really care, you never gave a shit about me
So I made you move out and live with your dad
Just because you were horrible to me didn’t mean I was not sad
There were times I gave into the lust
Mistaking it for love and honest trust
You kicked me further down each time that the thrill was over
It came to a point I couldn’t function if I was sober
For three years this went on and our baby girl was in the mix
You never loved me or her it was always about that power fix
Because as soon as you had an advantage over me
You took me to court knowing full well you’d win and I’d have to hand over Aubrie
When you took me to court I had finally gotten fully over lusting after you
Our chapter was over and I know that you knew
So one last time you went for blood
And guess what? You won and threw me in the mud
You took the only thing that was keeping me afloat
It was an act of desperation in attempt to sink my boat
Guess what you won. In court and between us
I’ll never forgive you, even though I know I must
I just can’t let go what you did to me
I can’t fathom how someone could want that for even their worst enemy
You did all you could to ruin my entire life
But our daughters back is really where you placed your sharp knife
I’m an adult and I have better understanding in life
She’s just a child, none of this is right!!!
You’re destroying her entire mental state
But you’re too oblivious to consider that it’s you that’s causing the ache
Was it not enough to ruin me and my life
Did you have to hurt my baby? You and your arrogant wife?
I know I’m not perfect maybe not even all that good most of the time
But I do know for certain she wouldn’t be so broken if she were all mine
I cannot wait until she’s grown older, you see
You were always the problem!!! It was honestly NEVER even me
I don’t know where you got your knack for lying
You’re good at it, impressive even, you don’t even care who might be dying
As long as you’re okay and you maintain that perfect picture
Even though it’s all a crock of shit, I’d just rather not bicker
There’s no telling you anything if you’ve already decided on an opinion
Especially since the only thing you surround yourself with is your personal hand picked minions
No one will ever tell you you’re wrong because you’ve got them all scared
Truthfully, you’ve taken everything I’ve ever loved so for your well being I’ve never cared
I’ll stand up to you, your minions and your bitch of a wife
I’ll tell you all how pathetic you are and how you should get a life
I’ll go to jail for aggravated assault gladly with a smile on my face
I’m a lover not a fighter but, you made me this way
Because of you I have so much hatred piled up
There’s a heaviness inside of me no matter what
It’s all because of you that I don’t want to wake up every day
I promise you some time you’re going to repay
You owe me for all of the years that you took
I’m so pissed off heaven, he’ll, and everything in between will be shook
The day I decide to get my revenge
Just make sure you’re fully prepared for a full soul cleanse
I’m going to work with Karma and my own personal spells
Because right now while my baby is still young and in your care I don’t want her to rebel
So break you down slowly from a distance with my witch craft
You won’t suspect a thing because when it’s smacking you in the face you still need a map
Dumb as a box of rocks, I guess that’s why I always have you the benefit of the doubt
I’m ashamed of myself for always believing your foolish mouth
Those days are long gone honey
You’ve made me into a beast that won’t take nothing!
When I come back swinging harder than ever before
No one better get in my fucking way, especially your stupid whore
You both have it coming and I’m glad to convey
The message you both need to get is a long time delayed
Get ready because a few more years you’ve got
I don’t care what the consequence is. I want you to flop!
I’ll make sure that the light will prevail and you and your evil darkness will continue to drop

Chapter 13 ~ Migration
Interview with an Immigrant
Tumblr media
The person I interviewed on their experience immigration story was my younger cousin, Loa. Loa, short for Loany, is one of my only cousins who was born outside of the United States. She’s lived in the U.S. for about 8 years and I realized that I’ve never asked her what it was like for her to immigrate to the U.S. As a child, it wasn’t anything that I was curious about but as I got older, it’s something that I began to wonder about. She immigrated with her family from Honduras when she was 10 years old and started a new life just like that.
Loa’s dad started the process to immigrate to the United States before she was even born. They did a lot of work to be able to move to the United States and didn’t hear anything for over a decade. In the meantime, Loa’s dad started his own car wash and her mom became the head accountant at her office. They were well off and Loa even had a nanny for a long time while growing up. She told me about how in Honduras she lived a very pampered lifestyle. There was even a time when her mom flew to Guatemala for a business trip and got her a toy that was sold out in Honduras. This is something that she looks back on and sees that she was quite spoiled during her childhood. Especially since she grew up seeing children as young as 4 years old working to eat or begging on the street for food. When Loa was 10 years old they were told that they had the opportunity to become US residents. At this point, her father had lost his business and her mom was pregnant with another child, which would be difficult for her since she has health problems. They saw this as an opportunity to start over and have better opportunities for medical assistance in the U.S.Loa’s dad went before everyone else to find a place to live and a job. He would call them when he could and would send them pictures of what he was doing. Loa told me about a time when her dad would send them pictures of sewing his work shoes back together to save money. After getting settled in Virginia with one of his cousins, Loa’s dad finally sent for his wife and daughter to join him. Loa says that her last day in Honduras was very sad because she was saying goodbye to her friends and family. It was particularly saddening for her mom since she was leaving her whole family behind. They left with whatever could fit into their suitcases. Loany was excited to see if the United States fit her expectations. She imagined it to be a modern and futuristic country. When she arrived she was surprised by how much greenery there was mixed with the cities. In Honduras, the majority of the landscape is mountainous, so cities are compact and rarely have lots of plant life. Loa says that when she was driving from the airport to her new home she was shocked to see trees and cities so mixed while driving down the highway. When she finally got to her new home it was midnight and dark, no one was there waiting for them. They lived in a house with several family members. The three of them moved into a small room with barely enough room for a large bed. When Loa’s brother was finally born, her dad moved into a small shed in the backyard. To make room for the crib, they stacked all their belongings in a corner. It was very different from the life that they lived before but it was in the hopes of a better life. She was also intimated by the large number of cousins she had in the United States. She tells me that at the time she was really shy and didn’t know how to interact with us. That quickly faded because she found us to be welcoming and inclusive. She tells me that it was easy talking to me since I could converse with her at her level in Spanish and understood what she was saying. Although not everyone could speak perfect Spanish, they all still tried and that’s what mattered to her.
Loa started the 5th grade in the U.S. and found the curriculum easy since she was learning stuff she had already learned in Honduras. However, it was difficult for her to express her intellect because of the language barrier. Luckily she was provided help to help her learn the language and get her work done. The problem came when her classmates started bullying her for not speaking English and for being from another country. Once the baby was 3 months old, Loa’s mom began to work at Mcdonald's during the night, which was a big shift from her desk job in Honduras. This meant that Loa, at 10 years old, was in charge of her 3-month-old baby brother. Fortunately, she lived with 4 other cousins that helped her take care of her little brother. Although the oldest one was only 15, they all learned together how to take care of the baby and each other. Loa said,” we were kids taking care of kids.” because that’s all they could do with their parents all away at work. As time went on, Loa’s parents got more job opportunities, like her dad who got a well-paying job in construction that hired immigrants with residency. This allowed her family to finally get an apartment for themselves.
They moved into a one-bedroom apartment with a den, which became Loa’s room. Her parents also had two jobs at this point to save up to buy a house. Loa was in middle school by then and was spending a lot of time alone with her brother. She says that this helped her become independent because she had to cook and clean for herself. I asked her how she felt about going from being a girl who had everything done for her to someone who does everything for themselves. She says it was a very humbling experience but it helped her become independent. She was also able to get away from her elementary school bullies since she started middle school. She found more kids that could relate to her in her ESOL classes as well. They understood the struggle of learning a new language and what it was like to be seen as different because they were born in a different country. By the time she was in 8th grade, Loa was able to assimilate and even made more, of what she calls, US-born friends. Even though she was assimilated, that doesn’t mean that she could completely relate to her peers. She tells me that as she moved into high school, she found it hard to relate to her peers who liked expensive, fashionable items, like the latest iPhone or the newest Jordans. This is because she didn’t see these items as priorities, like her peers. She saw what it took for her parents to get what they had, so she didn’t want to put any more pressure on them. She told me about how there were many things she would love to have but her relationship with money made her prioritize her needs over her wants. After 3 years of living in the small apartment, her parents were finally able to get a house.
They currently live at their beautiful home and Loa graduated from high school early with the class of 2022. She is now in the workforce and working towards getting her college education. While working she was able to buy a new car all by herself. I asked her how she feels about being an immigrant now and she told me that she is very privileged because she isn’t an irregular immigrant. The fact that she is a resident gives her more opportunities than her friends who are irregular immigrants. Her family can buy a home or look for good job opportunities because of their legal status. She tells me that because of that “privilege” she doesn't see herself as a fighter because she doesn’t struggle with simple things like finding housing or going to school. Although she doesn't see herself that way, I do. Loany is a fighter because of the growth she had to go through at such an early age. She did what she had to do to support her family in any way she could, even if she was struggling herself. I am so proud of the person she has become and hope that her future is bright and successful.

You just need to feel it
Pairing: Natasha x Fem Reader
Warning: Language, fluff, angst
Summary: Being hidden away from the Avengers definitely brings curiosity when you are accidently discovered by one of them.
Word count: 5.6k
⸻⸻⋙☸⋘⸻⸻
Being one of the most rich people in the world daughter, definitely has its own benefits along with flaws, one of them being that when people heard your surname they instantly think you are the most spoiled kid on earth, when in reality you practically don't even know your parents.
People think you overexaggerate, like how can you not know your parents? But it's the truth, at a young age you have been practically given up to Tony Stark, he is intelligent and has his weakness when it comes to sponsoring his businesses to which your parents agreed to with one condition.
That Tony takes you as they never had time in the world to babysit you, so Tony became the father figure you always lacked. He taught you many things along with his passion of building, with each lesson you become better which is why you are currently working for Tony.
You practically have the same knowledge as him so when he is busy or needs another person's perspective he asks you to help and you do it with gratefulness.
When your parents noticed that you are starting to become a potential, they asked Tony to keep you discreet but would regularly check up on you, not that they would even try to interact with you but you didn't really care.
You were fine with Tony being the only father figure, soon when Pepper came into Tony's life, she was like the mother you always dreamed off, she always supported you and loved spending time with you when Tony was busy with his meetings.
Since you were stuck in the same place at all the times, you wanted to explore but you were forbidden from doing so, you knew no one could find out about you or Tony could get into big trouble with your parents.
You heard of the Avengers and their work, but you and Tony were behind the inventions so they could succeed against enemies three times their size.
It would've been one of those days where Tony would disappear from the team and spend some of his time with you, catching up or helping you with studying.
You was sat at your desk, the room was connected to the lab where you and Tony would come up with creations, the lab had a window that was tinted so only the person inside could see outside of it which was useful, as you could watch people walk past and no one would know you are even there.
The room of course was filled with things that could never bore you but it did bore you. You couldn't leave anywhere because if there was a picture leaked, your parents would be furious, so you were basically locked like Rapunzel but you couldn't escape.
"How are you, kid?" Tony asked as he walked inside the room, taking a double look in the hall to make sure no one saw him.
You nodded as you looked at him "Like any person who is locked inside a room their whole life"
He laughed a little as he made his way towards you "I'm sure it is very entertaining"
"Yeah, I'm so entertained as you can see" You pointed towards your books.
He sat on the desk as he leaned over to see what you were studying "Biology? What's so fascinating about that?"
You rolled your eyes, you would think someone like Tony would be somewhat interested in facts about science "It's interesting, like the human body has 12 systems. Don't tell me this isn't impressive?"
He smiled at you "You need another hobby, kiddo"
You playfully rolled your eyes "And you need to let me explore this building"
His smile fell a little, he knew that this is inhumane to keep you in a room locked and no one could find out about you "Under different circumstances, that would be possible"
You stood up from the chair as you kept your gaze on him "I know, it's okay though, as long as you keep hanging around I'm sure I will be fine"
He nodded slightly with a sad smile "If it only was up to me, you would be able to just walk freely"
"I don't understand, why don't they just let you adopt me, they barely even talk to me, you have been more of a parent to me than they ever were"
He looked at you, he always cared about you, even if you weren't his daughter by blood, he always considered you as one along with Pepper "I wonder that as well.."
The silence started to settle but he cleared his throat, throwing one of his famous smiles and pulling you into him with his hand over your shoulder as he walked towards the lab "I started to come up with this prototype and then I noticed something and I wanted to ask you about it"
⸻⸻⋙☸⋘⸻⸻
The time with him went by so quickly, he didn't even notice that he was gone for so long, he gave you a hug which was something that was so foreign to you until he took you, you still wasn't used to it especially since you barely received them but you grew fond of them.
The team started to get suspicious of Tony's disappearances, at first they thought he was sneaking off to see Pepper but that went out of the window when she walked into the Avengers tower and asked about him, indicating that she had no clue where he was.
They wanted to find out what he has been doing all that time, they checked every room they could possibly think off, but it came back short. They even asked Friday but that programmed thing always gave the same answer 'It's confidential' which only just fuelled the team.
Correction; Most of the team, by most that was Sam, Bucky, Thor and Natasha and the rest didn't really care until the four never came up with any explanation to why Tony had to disappear.
Steve only took interest when Sam really insisted and came up with some theory that Tony has a second woman on the side with a whole family, obviously there was no evidence to support that.
"I still think Wanda should look into his head" Thor came back with some sort of drink in his hand as he reclaimed his seat.
There was a slight laugh "There is no way I'm doing that, I respect that man too much, you guys are on your own"
All of them looked towards Wanda who heard Thor and they just sighed knowing that she won't do it, no matter how much they would beg.
"Natasha is a spy, can't she like follow Tony one day and just see where he always wonders off to?" Wanda asked as she sat down next to Steve who was scribbling something down on his notepad.
Sam and Bucky looked at each other with a slight smirk as they both looked at Natasha, who already knew that there would be no way out of this "Natashaaaaa..." Sam dragged her name out in an attempt to get to her " The witch is right, just follow him, you are like a super sneaky spy."
Natasha rolled her eyes as Thor spoke up again after taking a sip of his drink "That could save us a lot of time"
Natasha looked at Wanda who had a small smirk across her lips "You welcome" The witch mouthed which caused a glare to be thrown her way from the Russian.
She eventually agreed, especially when they would follow her everywhere, annoying her until she would crack. The famous black widow for once didn't threaten her team mates since she was as curious as them.
⸻⸻⋙☸⋘⸻⸻
She has been following Tony all day, sneaking around, hanging from the ceiling and just watching his every move, she was close to giving up but that's when she noticed a door appear from the wall, from the outside it looked like any wall but that's where you would be with Tony all the time.
Tony looked around and walked inside and then the door disappeared. Natasha, feeling of satisfaction washed over her, had a smirk across her lips, finally that's where he has been hiding all this time.
She expected, some embarrassing place where Tony stored away his secrets that she could tease him about, so when he walked out again couple minutes after, she took the opportunity and snuck inside the room.
She was slightly disappointed when she just found a lab but her eyes caught a movement from the opened door, across from where she was, she quietly made her way there as she looked around. It was just a bedroom with a lot of fun stuff.
She observed you as you was sat on your bed with a book in hand so she decided to speak up "Now who can you be, gorgeous?"
Natasha never failed to notice how attractive you were, the way your hair would be pushed behind the both of your ears, in her eyes you looked young but old enough.
You jumped up from the unfamiliar voice, eyes fixated at the redhead in front, you knew this was bad, she shouldn't be here and now that she has seen you, this will only be a big problem.
Just like you jinxed Tony walked in and his eyes widen at the sight of the redhead "Romanoff what the hell are you doing here?"
She eagerly span on her hill as she faced him with a smirk "So that's where you have been hiding out"
"How did you even get in?" He narrowed his eyes as he looked at you, you looked clueless as well.
"The door closes too slow, I just walked in. But who is that?" Natasha simply explained but her attention changed towards you with a smile.
He stood in front of her as he covered you "That's not your business, you shouldn't even be here-"
Natasha walked around, making her way towards you as she extended her hand towards you "I'm Natasha but you can call me Nat, sweetheart"
Her attempt at flirting with you only irritated Tony "Romanoff, I swear if you don't take a step back from her, you'll regret it" He tried to stick to his threat but Natasha knew him too well.
You looked at Tony "Dad, does that mean am I in trouble?"
Natasha's eyes widen as she repeated what you said "Dad?!"
Tony rolled his eyes and looked at you with a small smile "Of course not" His eyes darted back to Natasha "But she will be"
You would be lying if you didn't think that some of the Avengers were pretty good looking, you never was in a relationship for obvious reasons but there would be times you would imagine yourself in one, not that you knew much about them but the films and books seem to give you some sort of an idea.
Natasha mumbled as her eyes narrowed "Maybe Sam was right about you having a secret family"
"Secret family? Have you guys been creating some sort of theories about me? What the hell are you guys doing?" He sounded more than irritated.
"Does Pepper know about you having a secret daughter?" She asked with her arms crossed.
Natasha might have been viewed at scary and unlovable for not more than her body but that doesn't mean she didn't have her own view on some subjects, she just never voiced them.
"She knows-" He paused as he huffed from irritation "I don't have to explain myself to you"
You watched as your eyes darted from one to another as they spoke so you decided to interrupt them "I'm trying to read..."
Natasha's gaze fell on you, she had a small smirk playing across her lips "You know that bed looks more than comfortable-"
"Out!" Tony shouted over Natasha as he pointed towards the exit, she finally given in and with a smirk she walked out and Tony followed but not before he sent you an apologetic look.
They both made it to a private room, out of hearing from anyone. Tony leaned on the door as Natasha stood not far from him, he sighed with a defeated look "Can you keep this to yourself? I will pay you or something"
The redhead with a hint of genuine emotion "You don't have to pay me, I will keep this to myself you don't have to worry but"
He dread that 'but', he knew there was a catch, Natasha continued "Who is that?"
He pushed himself off the door and sat on the table as he looked at Natasha "It's not my place to say, but her parents decided to give her to me and here she is, no one can know so just make up a lie or something"
He seems upset in a way and just like that walked out of the room and went back to you, Natasha's eyes followed him as she felt a little guilty for invading his privacy.
⸻⸻⋙☸⋘⸻⸻
Everyone from the team apart from Tony were waiting for Natasha to return with some hopeful news. She wasn't expecting literally everyone to be tuned in.
She was taken back as she made it into the living room, they were waiting with excitement written all over their faces "So?" one of them spoke up.
The redhead crossed her arms as she raised her eyebrows perfectly "You guys just sat here and waited for me to come back?"
They shrugged and just said 'yes' which just made Natasha shake her head at their nosiness "Well I found nothing, he was busy with his meetings all day." She paused as they all groaned "Maybe there literally is nothing"
Wanda tilted her head at Natasha, she knew she had an advantage over the team, especially if they tried to lie, so when Natasha excused herself the witch took the opportunity to follow her.
"Wait up, Natasha" Wanda spoke from behind her as she caught up to her.
She turned to face Wanda as she raised her brows at her "What's up?"
Wanda looked around and with a swift motion, pushed them both into a room that wasn't familiar, from the sudden move it caused Natasha to slightly gasp from shock as this wasn't what she expected.
"What the hell Wanda!"
Wanda looked with an innocent smile "Sorry, I just wanted to be out of range of everyone"
"Why?" Natasha simply asked, not sure to why Wanda suddenly wants to talk.
"What did you find out?" The witch didn't beat around the bush, she came out with it straight away.
"I'm not sure what you are referring to?" The Russian tried to play dumb.
Wanda rolled her eyes "You might be able to fool them but remember I can still read your mind"
Natasha sighed as she crossed her arms and leaned on a little table that was behind her "Not much, there is hidden room where he keeps some girl who claims to be his daughter, the thing is that is definitely not his daughter. You can't say anything, he asked me not to and I'm only telling you because I don't want you to go inside my head"
Wanda liked the fact that she was somewhat feared by the Widow, she powerful but she would never try to hurt her team mates; scrap that, her family so she just nodded.
"We have a new addition!" Wanda clapped her in excitement "If you need help or anything, I'm here"
Natasha smiled at the witch and nodded and thanked the witch, they both went back to what they were doing; Natasha coming up with a way to find out more about you and Wanda went back to pity the boys.
⸻⸻⋙☸⋘⸻⸻
It was one of those days for the team, where there would be no missions as Stark had a lot of business stuff to take care off with his company. He needed someone to keep an eye out for you, he would've asked Pepper but she was busy for that day so the only person that popped in his head was Natasha.
He walked into the area where everyone had their own get together to just relax after a chaotic week, he spotted the redhead sipping on beer "Looks like everyone is getting comfortable today"
They looked at Tony who was in a suit rather than something more comfortable "Shame you can't spend it with us" Steve spoke first, he was the only one who wasn't exactly drunk but he wasn't sober either.
Tony shook his head as he smiled "Well, nothing I can do unfortunately. Which reminds me, Romanoff I have a mission for you actually"
The team groaned at his words, Natasha was really liked as she would be able to drink so much and not get drunk, she would barely even reach the drunk state, so having her attend a mission made the team a little moody.
She nodded as she finished off her beer and stood up to follow Tony, she remembered not having any missions, she always double checks so she is never behind anything.
"What mission?" Those were the only words that left the Russian.
Tony sighed, knowing that this is the only way out "I need you to keep an eye out on that room"
The redhead crossed her arms as she listened to him "What do you want me do?"
He handed her a card "I want you to be causation, in case something happens and I'm not here. Do not go in there and disturb her, she has some stuff to do"
Natasha nodded as she looked down at the card "This is to open the door?"
He nodded and smiled at Natasha as he reached for her shoulder and squeezed it "Good luck"
Natasha watched Tony disappear and sighed, she never was the one to break rules but she really wanted to hang out with you, there was something about you that pulled her in and there wasn't a waking second that she wouldn't want to spend with you.
⸻⸻⋙☸⋘⸻⸻
The Russian did as she was told, she kept an eye out for the room and observed it in a distance to make sure that everything was okay, it was quite boring, but she had her phone to occupy her time, she received some messages from Steve and Sam, showing her what she was 'missing'.
She was going to reply until she heard footsteps, she peaked and saw you with a hood up, waiting for the elevator to come, she smirked as she leaned on the door frame "Where do you think you're going, gorgeous?"
You didn't jump this time, you looked over at her and rolled your eyes as you whispered "Are you stalking me or something?"
The Russian crossed her arms, she knew what to do "Wouldn't you like to know!"
You raised your brows at her shouting, it would attract attention of people close by, meaning you would be spotted, so you marched your way towards her as you walked inside where she was camping out to hide.
"Can't you be quiet?" The way you spoke to her as if you knew her would straight away be a death wish for you but somehow you wasn't scared of her.
She looked out to see if anyone was coming and closed the door behind, trapping you inside with her "I could've been if you were nicer"
You sighed defeatedly as you looked down "Right, I'm sorry.." by the time you were done speaking, you looked up at her as she was analysing you.
"Where were you going to go?" She asked with no hesitation in her tone, she was a little different to the people you met, she wanted to find out why you did what you did rather than punish you straight away.
"I wanted to just leave that room, I never have the chance to do that and I thought today was my chance but" You paused as you eyed her "Clearly not"
The redhead felt hot as you eyed her but she hid it well "Okay, come with me"
You raised your brows at her but smiled as you put your hood up and you followed her like a puppy, you didn't know the place and if the worlds most deadly assassin was going to take you around, you knew it would be best to stick with her.
The two of you made it to the roof top, you never went anywhere your whole life, always stuck in that room or met your parents in some plain white meeting room to discuss what would be best for you.
As you stood near the door, you looked around to see the city and how beautiful it was, it was the first time you saw anything that pretty, usually you would only stare at one view from your room and that eventually got boring.
The Russian chuckled at you and made her way towards the edge of the building, placing herself on the floor, you did join her but sat a little further away from the edge.
You looked down and saw multiple cars go by but from far they looked like toys, the way you observed everything melted Natasha's heart, she never witnessed anyone being so happy whilst looking down a huge tall building.
Natasha shook her head a little with a small smile which caught your attention "What you smiling at?"
She looked at you with the same smile "I never seen someone be so happy whilst looking down to potential death" She teased a little.
You looked away from her and bluntly responded "If you were locked inside a room for your whole life, things like this would amuse you as well"
There was a pause in between, the Russian tried to come up with something to say without wanting to invade your privacy "How did you not go insane?"
You laid down on your back as you stared at the stars above "Hope"
You replied with one word which only interested Natasha even more "Hope for what?"
"For this.." You pointed up at the sky and she understood. You hoped one day you'll be able to just walk around.
She took a deep breath as she laid next to you and looked at your side profile "Why are you not allowed to leave that room?"
You looked at her, meeting her eyes trying to embed into your memory the way her eyes looked at you "Because that's my life"
"Surely Tony wouldn't be this cruel to not let you leave his side" She spoke trying to crack you a little bit more.
You chuckled "No, Tony is the best father figure you could ask for. It's just that my parents have a tight hold over him and if I mess that up, they will literally lock in inside a prison or something"
Natasha's eyes never left your face, it was like she was in some trance "So Tony isn't your biological dad?" The redhead asked, she knew that he wasn't but she wanted to know more from you.
You shook your head from side to side "I wish, he has been more of a parent to me than my own ever were"
"You don't have to tell me anything you don't want to" Natasha stated softly, making sure you didn't think she was forcing you.
You gave her a smile "I know, but you seem like you want to know unlike everyone else"
She frown at your answer "What do you mean? People don't listen to you?"
You shook your head "Nope, no one cares either"
"I do" It was the most quietest 'I do' you ever heard.
"You are the only one"
She was quiet as she was processing your words, so you continued "My parent's never actually cared about me, but I don't really care, what I care is that they locked me and don't allow me to do whatever I want"
"You talk about your parents as if they are really powerful, who are they?" She asked curiously, not to be nosy but to know more about you.
You looked away, scared about the judgement from her "My name is Y/n Y/l/n"
She looked at you with disbelief "So you're the spoiled kid of the Y/l/n family?" She asked with a surprised tone.
You knew this would happen, the news never shut up about you and your weird disappearance so you nodded and she sat up from the disbelief "That's bullshit, you don't seem to be spoiled"
You raised your eyebrows at her "Am I not? Have you not seen my room?"
She rolled her eyes "Well do you expect to be locked in a room with just a bed and couple books? I think that's a reasonable room for someone who has been forced to stay in it"
You sat up as you listen to her defend you as if she knew you, so you simply smiled "Thank you"
She looked at you as her emotions were quick to cool down "For what?"
"For taking me here and listening to me, I never had friends before, to be fair I never met anyone near my age" You nervously played with your fingers as you admitted it to her.
She smiled as she stood up and extended her hand towards you so she can help you stand up "Well we aren't done.. that's if you still want to hang with me"
You took her hand as she pulled you up "Please, anything to not spend another minute in that room"
She smiled as the both of you slowly started to walk towards the exit of the roof "If you want, there is a small get together with the Avengers, we can tag along with them"
You looked at her side profile this time, if you didn't have to reply to her, you would most likely be speechless by her beauty "Do you think they will know who I am?"
She waved her hand dismissively "Don't worry, I will put them back in their place if they say anything rude"
⸻⸻⋙☸⋘⸻⸻
And that's how it started, you both attended the get together, you met wonderful people and for the first time in your life you tried alcohol. The team was more than happy to have you in their circle and shortly they learnt who you were, it wasn't possible to hide anything from them plus you were on the news practically all the time but they never judged you but more opposite, they loved you.
Thor even called you Lady Y/n and you really liked it, they treated you like any other person and you could've been more grateful for that, Natasha walked you to your room and stayed until you fell asleep, she stayed to ensure that you would actually fall asleep but also to watch as you slowly relaxed every muscle in your body.
From that moment, she only started to fall for you even more, the more you opened up the more she was in awe at how brave you had become but it was the moment when you stood up to your parents in front of her that she realised she really likes you.
It was one of those days where she sneaked inside your room and you loved it, the two of you would spend time watching movies that she loved and movies that you loved, or watch movies the both of you hated and just made comments on it.
You gotten comfortable around Natasha and she respected you like you respected her, you wasn't sure whether what you felt was friendly or romantic, your heart would always skip a beat when her arm would brush against yours or when she laughed so hard at something you said and she gripped your arm or hand it just made you miss her touch after.
"I don't understand why they even go towards that stupid sound, I would turn around and just walk off" You commented as you were irritated at the scene on the TV.
The Russian chuckled slightly "That's because you are a wuss, of course you would run away"
You rolled your eyes at her as you looked over "Please, as if you wouldn't. Just because you are THE Black Widow, it doesn't make you less of a human"
She looked over at you curiously "So you're saying everyone would be scared?"
You nodded confidently "Oh for sure, if someone just barged inside here, you would jump for sure"
And that's what happened, someone DID barge in but it was someone you didn't expect, the way you gripped onto Natasha's body as if she would somehow make it disappear and the way Natasha held onto you as if she could make that disappear was more adorable.
"Y/n Y/l/n! What do you think you're doing!" The voice spoke that was familiar yet at the time not really.
You felt a blush across your cheeks as you realised you were still holding into Natasha, you let her go and looked at her, she had a slight blush as well but she quickly looked away from you to mask the blush.
You stood up from your bed and walked over to where the voice was, it was your mother, she stood there with her arms crossed and that's when Natasha came out from behind you, she crossed her arms as she narrowed her eyes at the woman.
Your mother held the phone out as it displayed your newly social media "I don't see what's wrong Mother"
She huffed "You are unimageable disrespectful!"
Natasha raised her eyebrows at her, she understood what you meant now but you continued "No, I'm being respectful, it's you who barged into this room throwing a fit over a picture"
"You are doing this on purpose, you are trying to ruin our imagine! You must delete that now, this is unacceptable" She looked at the phone and at the picture, it was you with the team, the next picture was with Natasha as she leaned on your shoulder and made a cute little kissy pose.
You shook your head "No" it was all you said which caught Natasha off guard but she felt proud, so there was a smug smile across her lips as she observed the woman in front of her.
"Unbelievable" She paused as the redhead finally caught her eye so she pointed towards her "You are the one who corrupted my daughter"
Natasha's smile was gone as those words left her mouth so she decided to speak up "If she was your daughter you would treat her better"
You looked over at Natasha, the way her gaze was on your mother so firmly, make your stomach do flips "She never corrupted me, she was always here for me" She looked down at you with a smile that met her eyes, you looked at your mother "Unlike you or Father"
Her mouth dropped opened at your words, she never expected you to ever talk to her like that, so you continued "I'm old enough to decide for myself, so I'm no longer your daughter but Tony's, he adopted me and I will happily call him my dad and Pepper my mom, they deserve those names so if you don't like it, leave the same way you came in"
She was boiling inside as Natasha chuckled at her expression, she huffed and walked out not saying anything back, you let out a breath that you didn't even know you was holding and turned to face Natasha, a squeak came out of your mouth as you jumped into Natasha's arms.
She held you so tightly but you quickly pulled away realising what you did, you were still in her arms but just facing her "Oh god! This is bad, she will take revenge"
Natasha's voice always seemed to calm you "Hey, hey. She won't do that, Tony won't let that happen and frankly I won't either"
You always seem to be oblivious to Natasha's feelings towards you, she wasn't very open with them which is what caused your obliviousness. The both of you were scared of rejection but something with the way Natasha comforted you and held you tight against her, making you look down at her lips.
She caught on and with every courage that was left in her body, she leaned closer, before her lips reached yours you looked into her eyes "Thank you Talia"
She smiled as she kissed you, she finally did what she always wanted to do, she felt as if there was fireworks going off, the way butterflies would grow just at the touch of your lips, she loved it and she was intoxicated.
You were the first to pull away, resting your forehead against hers "I like it when you call me that"
A grin broke out on your face "Talia, Talia, Talia-"
She kissed you again, this time with hunger as she backed you into a wall, you tangled your hands into her hair as you matched her pace in the kiss.
Even if it wasn't long since you knew each other, the want and the need was stronger than self control for Natasha, especially when you did things like this.
"You really don't want to walk tomorrow" The way her voice was low and her eyes would fill with lust just at you teasing.
"I'm not sure I understand what that means"
Natasha smirked as her lips made their way towards your ear "You don't have to.."
"You just need to feel it" her lips latched onto your skin within seconds, causing a moan to escape your lips.

Harry's journey of taking care and raising his daughter Rose as a single father.
Tumblr media
Ever since Harry became a single dad, his life had been anything but easy. When his daughter Rose (named after his rose tattoo) was a baby, her mum completely left them, saying she didn't want to be a mother yet and it was a mistake to have not used protection. Especially when it was a one-night stand and that person was a celebrity. She had Rose (not finding it in her to go through with an abortion) and days later gave her baby to Harry, and that was the last time Rose ever saw her mother and Harry ever saw his baby's mama.
When Rose was a baby, Harry was the one that got up at all hours of the night to make her bottles, beings she had no way of breastfeeding. Most of the time on the One Direction tour bus because that's where he and his bandmates stayed while on the road touring. He'd also burp her and change her dirty diapers. Rub her little tummy when it ached. The rest of One Direction didn't always like being woken up to a crying baby, but at the end of the day, knew how special Rose was to Harry and supported him through everything.
His bandmates would often babysit Rose when Harry had to go into the recording booth and record his parts of their songs. Louis was the one who acted as a mother figure in her life (beings he grew up taking care of his younger sisters), like doing nightly feedings when Harry was sleep deprived. Or give Rose a bath in the little baby tub they bought for the bus when Harry was just busy in general. Niall being the silly guy, loved to make Rose laugh when she was being a bit moody. And Zayn and Liam were the protectors and kept Rose out from harms way.
When One Direction went on hiatus, Harry didn't have all the help he once had when living with four other people. At that point, Rose was three so it wasn't as hard to take care of her as it was when she was a baby, but still quite difficult for him being a single dad. She was potty trained and eating all regular foods. Though she'd sometimes still wanted a bottle of warm milk to help her fall asleep at night.
Harry would make Rose breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the two of them each day. He'd give her baths and washed her curly hair, sometimes making a soap Mohawk from the shampoo just to make her laugh. He'd read Rose bedtime stories and sing her lullabies. And though Harry tried to enforce Rose to sleep in her own bed like a big girl, he'd always cave in when she gave her daddy puppy dog eyes and a wobbly lip, as though she was about to cry. So often Rose ended up in her daddy's bed and Harry held her close, loving the feeling of knowing his daughter was safe and sound in his embrace.
Years went by and Harry sent Rose to kindergarten. Much to his disliking because he'd miss being with her through-out the day. He'd get up with her every morning and styled her hair to the best of his abilities. Sometimes not being able to accomplish what Rose requested and feeling terrible. Times like that was when he wished Rose had a mother or mother figure. Harry would pack Rose a lunch to take to school and help her with her homework when she got home at the end of each day.
Harry went to every school play Rose was in (she loved preforming just like her daddy) and every PTA meeting the school held. Though he juggled being a international popstar, Harry always put his daughter first no matter what. He helped her with any school projects she'd have and Harry even went and chatted to the principle when Rose complained that some kids were being mean to her. He was a super dad, doing it all.
When Rose turned ten, Harry decided she was old enough to go on tour with him. He hadn't properly toured since One Directions last tour (just doing local gigs here and there) and that had been years from that point in their lives. Harry wanted to wait a few years and give Rose somewhat of a normal childhood with stability, hence why she attended public school in her adolescents.
Harry hired an on-the-road teacher to have as Roses homeschooling teacher that'd stay on his tour bus as they traveled. His number one priority was making sure she got her education over anything else. Harry paid for extra security guards to protect Rose when she went out, beings some fans went a little crazy. Harry had his assistant watch her when he was busy in the studio or doing interviews. Life was hard at times and yes Harry wished Rose still had a mother, but wouldn't have traded his life experiences of being a single dad for nothing. It truly helped him mature faster and appreciate live to the fullest.
Two years later at age twelve, Rose became a women. Well she started her period and matured like a women. Because all she'd ever known was living with her dad and not really having many women figures in her life, telling Harry she started her period wasn't that bad. Rose was fortunately home when her period had started and walked into the living room where her dad was sipping a glass of wine and informed him she was menstruating.
In the twelve years of Roses life, Harry knew that that day was coming. The day she'd start her period. He was only regretting that day because his little girl wouldn't be so little anymore, but wasn't hoping that day wouldn't ever come because he knew how important it was for a women to have one. Harry grew up with a house full of women so periods were a natural and easy topic to discuss. He hugged Rose, congratulated her, and immediately drove her to the local pharmacy to purchase some pads and tampon (and chocolate + a heating pad).
Between the ages of twelve and Roses current age of sixteen, life went as well as it could have gone for Harry and her. Unlike most teenage girls, Harry raised a good and respectful young lady. Rose doesn't like to go out and party like some of her friends do. She'd much rather stay at home and spend time with her dad. She's a daddies girl after all. Rightfully so because to her, her dad was the only one who truly loved her and cared for her, unlike her dead-beat mother.
As for Harry, he's still single. He's had a few flings through-out the years and a couple one-night stands, but he hasn't meet anyone that felt like a keeper. Or someone who he felt would love his daughter the way she deserved to be loved and treated. Harry doesn't tour as much anymore because of his age (not due to fan loss because he still has millions of fans. fans that love to call Harry a dilf.) and Rose is back attending a public school in London. They often visit her dad's ex bandmates and Rose loves them all dearly. They helped raise her as a baby and feel like secondary father figures to her.
Sometimes Rose wishes she still had a mum. A women in her life that she could have womanly conversations with and chat about her love interest to. Even just to say she had a mum because when her friends chat about their mums, she feels left out and sad. But truth be told, she almost thinks her life was meant to turn out like it did. Her and her dad Harry make a great father/daughter duo and she wouldn't trade the connection they have for anything in this world. Even if it was for a mum that loved her.

Hello! First of all I’d like to thank you for the work you do here, your blog is very refreshing among the hostile man-hating subtext of most online spaces I’ve been in lately and I’m very glad I’ve discovered it.
I’d like to vent about an issue that’s been plaguing me lately. So, I live in Ukraine — a country where a war has been going on for a bit over three months at this point. And since the very first day of the current invasion we have a law in effect that outright forbids any men aged 18-60 y.o. from leaving the country with very few exceptions. Like, they are legally not allowed to cross the border unless they are severely disabled (we have different degrees of disability legally, don’t know how it works in the US), are a primary caretaker of a disabled relative or have a special permit issued to go to a certain event abroad as a politician, athlete, musician and so on. Thousands of families have been split because of this, men were forced to leave their wives and children at the border for them to go into the unknown alone and so on.
It’s a tricky situation because of the war and stuff, officially it is justified as “the country needs her defenders which is every man’s duty”, but since military recruitment centers report they have more than enough experienced combatants willing to join the army and have no need for people who have never seen a gun in their life and don’t want to fight, some male activists started to push for lifting this ban.
And what infuriates me the most is the reaction of many so-called “feminists” to this situation, who see no issue here and state that “this is what men get for centuries of oppression”, “they earned it” and “women suffer the most from war-related violence anyway”, most of them sitting in the relative safety of the EU obviously. One even went as far as claim that “women being able to leave the country is actually a part of their oppression and discrimination, like free housing and food for inmates”. Even the most civil and sand ones usually say “it’s a male issue, so men should be the one to solve it. We are focusing on women’s liberation, so it’s not our problem.”
I just… I just can’t with those people. I was pretty sympathetic towards feminism before but that blatantly misandrist attitude has turned me into an anti-feminist overnight.
Hi! I'm glad you like it! 😊
And wow, I hope you're doing okay (or as okay as you can be). I can't imagine that.
It's so sad how, like you mentioned, families have been separated. I believe I remember seeing a video where a man was saying goodbye to his daughter.
>  And since the very first day of the current invasion we have a law in effect that outright forbids any men aged 18-60 y.o. from leaving the country with very few exceptions.
I’m kind of surprised they would have 60 year old's fighting. I mean I know there are fit and healthy 60 year old’s but I would still think the number would lowered just a bit. But I dunno.
>  It’s a tricky situation because of the war and stuff, officially it is justified as “the country needs her defenders which is every man’s duty”, but since military recruitment centers report they have more than enough experienced combatants willing to join the army and have no need for people who have never seen a gun in their life and don’t want to fight,
See and I think that’s wrong. I don’t think they should be forcing all the men within that age range to fight. It doesn’t make sense why it’s happening anyway if, like you said, they have enough who are willing to join. I see no reason why it just has to be the men. that are forced. I mean, I don’t think it should be forced on non military people period but why not just just have men and women from a certain age range (if they really felt like they had to do that)
Also, I can’t imagine how scared some of those people might be suddenly getting thrown into that, especially those young ones (18--early 20s).
>  And what infuriates me the most is the reaction of many so-called “feminists” to this situation, who see no issue here and state that “this is what men get for centuries of oppression”, “they earned it” and “women suffer the most from war-related violence anyway”
I don’t understand that mentality. I really don’t. No compassion whatsoever
That is what contributes to the idea that feminists doesn’t care about men’s issues (which then has them questioning why people don’t think they care!)
Stay safe out there!

Tumblr media
The world felt as if it were shattering around you, crumbling beneath your feet like the rapture was upon you. Honestly, if the world did come to an end right now you’d be elated. At least you wouldn’t have to deal with your broken heart anymore.
You sat against a wall in your room, wallowing in your own self petty. It’d be three days since Lee Bodecker had broken things off with you. He had said that you were hurting his campaign, that he still loved you but needed a woman of power to help him become sheriff of this godforsaken town.
Lee had taken you out in the same field he took you to every time y’all made love. He kissed you so passionately, held you so closely. If you weren’t so caught up in the way his hands felt against your bare skin, you would’ve noticed how distraught he was the entire time he made love to you. It was his way of saying goodbye before he actually said goodbye. After he’d broken up with you, you felt disgusting and violated.
You’d never felt like that with Lee. He was your deputy and sinner in disguise. He was your rock and your soft place to fall. When the tears finally fill, the most empty feeling you’d ever felt emerged in your gut. One day you thought you were gonna be Mrs. Lee Bodecker. You daydreamed constantly of your wedding day and sharing a bed with the man you loved for the rest of your life ‘til you were old and gray. To know now that dream will always remain a dream.. that’s what hurt the most.
After Lee drove you home, you sat in your room for three days straight, not even coming out for supper. Your momma tried to convince you to eat and it worked once on the second day, until you threw up right after.
She didn’t understand. She’d never been in love, not really. Not love like you and Lee had. People told y’all all the time how rare and beautiful your love for one another was and you agreed. Just looking back on those memories made you sick. You listened in awe of how beautiful your love was not knowing Lee would only break your heart days later.
Today was Sunday, the lord's day, and usually you never wanted to go to church, but today you really didn’t want to go. The whole town, including Lee and his new arm candy, would be there. It’s the first time you’d be seeing Lee since he dropped you off. It was too soon, especially since you knew he’d already moved on.
As you sat with your head between your knees, your momma barged through your bedroom door.
“Jesus, girl. Why aren’t you up and ready to go? Church starts in an hour and you aren’t gonna make me late again.” She stomped over to your closet and shuffled through your dresses.
“Momma.. I- I’m not ready. I can’t see… him with her. I just ain’t ready for that kinda humiliation.” You sighed, trying to reason with your Bible-thumpin momma.
“Oh, no. You’ve embarrassed me enough this week. Disappearin’ for three whole days over a boy? You’re pathetic. You know, back in my day, we didn’t get to sit around and sulk the days away. No. We had to carry on like everything was fine and that’s what you’re gonna do. Now, get dressed.” She threw you a dress, one of your favorites actually. It was a teal blue, babydoll dress that you usually saved for special occasions, but you weren’t feeling very special at the moment and now you were just pissed off.
You stood and came face-to-face with your momma, “I’m not going. You have no idea how I feel. You can’t. You’ve never felt love the way we had it, Momma. No one ever loved you or me the way I love Lee. You couldn’t possib-“
Just then you felt a sharp sting against your cheek as your momma slapped you across the face.
“Not. Another. Word. You will be dressed and waitin for me at the car in ten minutes. No poutin’ and no sulkin’ in the pews. I don’t wanna hear another word about that boy.” She turned to exit your room but turned around to give you one last dig to the heart, “And, honey, a man in love would never have done what he did to you. Remember that next time you wanna preach to me about love.” With that she left your room. Your cheek still stung from the unexpected hit to the face. Your momma was cruel but she’d never hit you before.
The slap, in a way, was kind of refreshing. For a split second you’d totally forgotten about Lee. Only for a second, though. His crystal blue eyes and cheshire lips never leave your thoughts completely. You shook your head in defeat, trying to erase him from your mind. It didn’t work, but you took a deep breath and began getting ready.
//
The church parking lot was full when you and your momma pulled in. Rickety old trucks to brand spankin new, brightly colored cars littered the dusty lot. You spotted Lee’s car immediately, thankfully he was already inside.
The whole town came to this church, which wasn’t that many people. Nevertheless, everybody knew everybody and, even if you didn’t care, everybody knew everybody’s dirty laundry. Old Man Karl got pulled over last week for a DUI, Nancy from the library cheated on her husband with his brother and.. oh yeah, Lee Bodecker dumped his long time girlfriend for the mayor's daughter.
Lee and yours breakup was the talk of the town. You were the fresh, new gossip in this boring as hell town and there’s nothing you could do about it.
You couldn’t get two steps into the church without being bombarded by women you didn’t want to know but also knew too much about, asking if you were alright and that they’d pray for you on this ‘beautiful, glorious Sunday morning’. Yeah, same shit different day, different person.
One woman stayed to chat with your momma, so you went to find your seat. Your usual spot was next to Lee and naturally that’s where you headed, only to be greeted by Lee and His new girlfriend, Laura-Jean Mancon. She was one of those girls who’d been pretty her whole life. Blind hair, blue eyes and a huge rack. Everybody thought she’d go into modeling or start an acting career but she never did. Instead, she stayed and was now going to marry Lee. In your eyes, that’s the best path she could’ve taken. You’d take her place any day.
“Mornin’ Y/n.” Lee cleared his throat, unable to make eye contact with you.
“L-“ You went to say his name but found you couldn’t. It was only one syllable, only three letters and it pained you to even think about, let alone say aloud. You cleared your throat, “Laura-Jean, nice to see you again.”
Laura-Jean said nothing in return. She just hummed, waiting for you to talk away.
“I guess I’ll go.. find me a new seat.” You took a deep breath when you felt the tears welling up in your eyes, again. Lee stared straight forward the whole time you stood there, too cowardly to even look you in the eyes. Some Sheriff he’ll be.
You scanned the crowd of people and found your momma in the front row, of course. You made your way up the aisle and took your seat next to her. The chorus sang their hems and the preacher clapped his way in on the last versus.
“How are we doin’ on this fine Sunday mornin’?” he drawled to the crowd. He got an assortment of greetings in return.
“I said ‘HOW ARE WE DOIN ON THIS BRIGHT N’ SHINY SUNDIE MORNIN’?’.”
“GOOD” the people shouted in return. You could hear Laura-Jean giggling over something but you wouldn’t dare look back. Lee always made church bearable, making wise cracks at the preaches expense.
“Now, today I’d like to talk a little bit about love. Of course, we’re always talkin’ about love when it comes to our lord and savor, Jesus Christ. But just for a moment, it ain’t about him. No. This mornin’ I’m preachin’ to you about young love.”
Here we go.
“It comes and goes so fast, but when you have it, it’s one of the most beautiful things this world can offer you.. especially when you put a little Jesus in it.” The church laughed. You knew where this was going. Your stomach churned as you sunk down into the pew.
“I’d like to ask the newly engaged folks in the crowd to come and join me up here. You know who you are, soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Lee Bodecker.”
Your heart felt as if it were going to explode, a tear escaped through your lashes and you quickly wiped it away.
They walked up hand in hand, smiling for cheek to cheek. How could he be so happy, so calm after only being broken up for less than a week? Did he ever love you? Really love you. Like you loved him. Obviously not because you could never, in good conscience do this to him. You couldn’t stand on a stage wrapped arm in arm with another man while Lee sat, just as you were now, devastated and totally distraught.
“So tell us,” the preach beamed. “When’s the big day.”
Lee looked at you with a pained expression as Laura-Jean answered the preach.
“May 21st”
Your breathing heavies at the reply. Turning to your momma you whispered, “Momma, that’s in two weeks.”
“I know that. Now, hush.” She side eyed you with a full smile still pressed to her lips. Even your own mother didn’t seem to care about your feelings. You sat there, listening to Laura-Jean go on and on about their ‘big day’. Tears streamed down your face and you let them. You’d given up on trying to hide how hurt you really felt. When you looked up, Lee stared straight at you. He wasn’t crying but his pain ridden face told you everything. One look at him and you couldn’t breathe anymore. You stood abruptly, all eyes were on you and Laura-Jean had stopped talking.
“I- excuse me.” You said before booking it out the back door. Lee hollered out, asking you to wait. It was too late. You were half way out the door and couldn’t stand to be in that room for another second.
Your feet stomped against the grave, dust clouding up in your wake as you made your way to the road.
“Y/n!” Lee called out after you.
“Go away. I have nothing to say to you, L- fuck.” You cursed, trying desperately to get away from him.
“I said wait, goddammit.” He growled, capturing your bicep in his large hand.
“Let go of me!” You whined sounding out of breath.
“Not until you listened to what I have to say.”
“What, Lee? What could you possibly have to say?”
“I- I.. dammit. I know I put you in a tough position but-“
“A tough position?” You repeated.
“Let me finish.” He sighed and released your arm from his grasp, “I know I hurt you. I can’t even begin to tell you how sorry I am, but, doll, this is it. This is my only chance at becoming Sheriff. You know how hard I’ve worked to get here and you’ve always been so supportive of my dream. I- I just thought.. out of everyone you would understand.”
Your skin burned as you imagined smoke blowing from your ears. Did he really just say that? That you should understand the break up and go on with your life like nothing happened like he is? You stood there frozen, breathing heavier and heavier as your brain tried to come up with a coherent response while trying to also remain a lady.
“I- I still love you. You know that, right?” He asked, bringing a hand to your cheek and wiping a stray tear away.
You flinched at his burning touch and slapped his hand away, “Don’t touch me. Don’t you ever touch me again. I don’t love you anymore. I can’t love you. Shit… seeing you was the best part of my day and now I can’t even look at you without feeling like my heart is being ripped out of my chest. I can’t even say your name anymore. Everything about you, now, fills me with so much pain and dread. So if that’s what your love is, keep it. I don’t want it anymore.”
“Doll,” A tear ran down his cheek, you now being the one who’s breaking his heart. “I never meant to hurt you. I swear.” He sniffles.
“Well, you did. I’m in so much pain.” You sobbed, “I’m in so much pain and I have no one to go to because you were my person. You have left me completely empty and utterly alone.”
“Y/n, I-“
“Save it, Bodecker. I’m done talking to you.”
Lee didn’t chase after you this time. He let the tears stream down his face as he watched you walk away. He was just as heartbroken as you but couldn’t show it., not when he was so close to winning this election. He wiped his face with the back of his hand and headed back towards the church. He knew you just needed time and that he’d still see you around town.
Seeing you today took his breath away. You wore your favorite dress that he bought you for your birthday so long ago. You didn’t have on any makeup, which he loved. You were so naturally beautiful and he did still love you with every piece of his shattered heart. He’d eventually come up with a plan to get you back, but for now he would respect your space.
//
Once you’d gotten home and shut the door, you couldn’t help but scream at the top of your lungs. Hoping for some sort of release from all this heartache you felt. Telling him you couldn’t love him was the hardest thing you ever had to do. You sat on the floor in the same position you were in before you left; head between your knees and sobbing like a baby.
There was no escaping him in this town. There was church and the grocery store and the diner you worked at part time. He was everywhere. He’d come in every morning you worked to have coffee with you. He had been a part of every little thing you do in your daily routine for as long as you can remember.
There was never a time you weren’t together. It was always just you and him. He was the one who held you when you were sad, but where was he now when you needed him most?
To you, there was only one way to fix this; get the hell out of here. Completely leave town and start anew somewhere else. You have an aunt that lives right outside of town. You can stay there until it doesn’t hurt anymore.
Wiping the tears from your eyes, you got up. Your aunt agreed to the plan and said you could stay with her for as long as you needed when you called her. You packed a small duffle bag and waited for her to pick you up.
When she did finally pull up out front, you hopped in the car and she drove off, leaving the dusty ole town you called home for so long. You took in a deep breath as you drove towards your new life. No Lee, no momma, no worries.

Voice Sweet as Caramel
Pairing: deaf!Katsuki Bakugo x gn!reader Genre: fluff, slight angst? Warnings: none Summary: You meet Dynamight and don’t know that he’s deaf. Luckily for him though, when you find out, your quirk comes in handy Word Count: 5.1k words A/N: I did a lot of research to make Bakugo’s experience seem as real as possible. If there is smth that I did wrong, worded incorrectly, etc., please don’t hesitate to inform me. Thank you and enjoy!
Tumblr media
It didn’t really bother him at first. Being deaf, I mean. He didn’t have to listen to a bunch of nonsense all the time, he could sleep in peace, villains trying to goad him on and agitate him didn’t work anymore, and so on.
It didn’t take him long to realize just how many downfalls there are with that though. He started to fall behind in class because he could no longer hear his teachers. He wasn’t able to hear plans of attack or hear an enemy sneak up on him.
He can’t hear your voice.
He became deaf in the middle of his third year. It happened in the middle of a fight with the league of villains and he didn’t really have time to panic about it at the time. When school let out and he became one of the top heroes, he tried not to be bothered by it and for the most part, it worked. His other senses heightened as time went on but that doesn’t mean it made the reality that he’s deaf any easier. There were still the setbacks that will always hold him back from reaching top potential. Because of this, he’s the number three hero, right behind Deku and Todoroki.
That’s what really crushed him.
He never shows anyone, heroes, friends, and villains alike, that being deaf is a struggle for him, even when he gets used to it. He wants to hear the villains he defeats beg for mercy. He wants to hear his friends laugh when someone does something stupid. He wants to hear the praise of civilians when he saves them.
He wants to hear your voice but he’d, obviously, never tell a soul that.
He didn’t meet you until a year after he graduated.
You showed up when he was fighting some villains, and he’ll never admit that he was struggling a little bit. Somehow though, villain after villain suddenly couldn’t see him and they panicked. They’d run into buildings and each other before Bakugo beat them all to a pulp.
Seeing as how you’re the only one else there with a hero costume on, he assumes you had something to do with it. As he hands the villains over to the police, you come over with a warm smile aimed directly at him. He stares at your lips as you speak, his ears ringing with the silence that he’s grown used to.
He doesn’t really understand why you’re trying to talk to him, seeing as how everyone knows that the great hero Dynamight is unable to hear. So, why are you wasting your time trying to talk to him? Maybe you think he can read your lips. That is, after all, a common misconception about deaf people.
Without a word on his part, he turns and walks away from you. He doesn’t hear you stop in the middle of congratulating him. He doesn’t hear how you scoff a bit. He doesn’t see you frown at how rude he is.
Tumblr media
You walk into the building with a bright smile already on your face, excited for something you literally do every day of your life. It doesn’t matter how many times you do it though. This will always make you happy. Plus, you just came to Japan from America a couple of weeks ago. You haven’t been here in years. You are excited to use your improved quirk to help others.
You greet the lady at the front desk as you grab your sticker name tag that the staff makes for you every day. You then go to your first stop, gently knocking on the door and coming in once you get the go-ahead.
“(Y/n)! You’re back!” the little girl squeals, a large smile coming to her face. Your smile stretches out further as you walk over to her.
“Hi, Keiko! How have you been?” you say as you move your hands slowly for her to read. She watches them attentively before perking up, her mother beside her smiling softly at the interaction.
“I’ve been really good! I’m glad you're back!” she says happily, her ‘accent’ coming through more now that she’s calmed down and isn’t shouting.
“I’m happy to be back too,” you agree, your hands moving with your words.
“(Y/n),” the mother says, grabbing your attention, “Thank you for coming back. You have no idea what this means to me. To us. After the villain attack...” Her eyes are watery as she speaks, her hand coming up to pet her daughter’s head.
You smile softly at her, coming over to sit in the empty chair by her bed. “Don’t even mention it, Mrs. Suzuki. It’s an honor to be of use to you and your daughter,” you reassure. You then look to Keiko, seeing her body impatiently wiggling around as she waits for you to work your magic.
You chuckle as you raise your hands, her eyes widening, despite knowing what you were doing. She turns to look at her mom as she shouts, “Mommy! I can hear again!” You read her lips and smile as she wraps her arms tightly around her mother. You watch with a soft look in your eyes, trying to ignore your oncoming sadness that will come when her hearing comes to an end again.
“Keiko, I noticed that you are getting better at JSL. You must be studying so hard!” you praise, watching her chest puff out at the praise.
“You bet I am! It’s so easy and my tutor says I’m really good at it!” she brags while using her hands for you to read, a chuckle escaping you at how proud she is. She has every right to be though.
“That’s so cool! Can you show me what else you’ve learned?”
You stay with the girl and her mother for their hour before slowly taking away her hearing again. She doesn’t seem to mind though. Even at her young age, she’s grateful for the opportunity that others don’t get to have and she knows that you can’t let her have her hearing back forever.
You walk down the hall and walk into the next room after knocking. “Daiki? It’s (Y/n),” you greet softly, not wanting to spook the teen. He perks up at the sound of your voice, a smile coming to his face as he turns to face you.
That has to be the best part of your quirk. You bring all of these smiles to these unfortunate people whose lives were changed at the hands of villains.
“(Y/n)! I’m surprised to have you come back so soon!” he greets, holding his arms open for a hug. You happily accept it, returning his sight as you pull away. He brightens up more as the life returns in his eyes, your eyes catching the sight of his gums showing from how big he’s smiling before your own vision goes dark.
“I’ll never get tired of seeing your pretty face,” he playfully flirts, making you chuckle as you take a seat by his bed.
“You’re such a flatterer.” When visiting Daiki, he prefers to use his time wisely. He likes to memorize the faces of loved ones, read, watch tv, and other things that he can’t do.
When his time comes to an end, he sighs as he closes his book he was reading, a sad smile on his face. “You really are my hero, (Y/n),” Daiki says softly, his eyes roaming your face to now memorize it without your knowledge.
“I’m just doing what anyone else would do with my quirk,” you reassure, giving him a sad smile as you slowly take his sight away again. He sighs and picks up the same book from before but with braille instead of typed words.
“Still. See you next week?”
“You betcha,” you say softly before kissing his cheek and leaving.
Your quirk allows you to eliminate or heighten the five senses. You can only do one sense at a time though. You can do it in increments too, meaning you can completely eradicate or heighten a sense, or you can do it partially. For example, you can increase someone’s smelling to 100% and they can suddenly smell ten times better than a bloodhound. Another example, if someone is getting a headache by a smell, you can remove someone’s smell by 50% and leave them able to smell but not as strongly as they normally would be able to. Also, when you use your quirk, that sense is completely removed from you but only while you’re using it on someone. You also can’t use your quirk on yourself.
It’s when you’re leaving the RCV, the Recovery Center from Villains, you notice the fight between a hero and multiple villains. You raise your hand to one of the villains, removing his, and your, sight. When you hear a loud explosion and a cry of pain, you turn off your quirk to find the villain you used your quirk on laying on the ground. You repeat this process with the other villains until there was none left standing.
When the hero hands them over to the police, you run over with a grin. “Hi, I just wanted to say that you were incredible! I know you probably didn’t need my help but I just wanted to-”
You cut yourself off with a scoff when the blond suddenly walks away from you, a frown coming to your face as you watch him go. Well, that was rude. Especially after you just helped him take down four villains!
“Excuse me. Were you the one to help Dynamight?” an officer asks. You give her a kind smile as you nod your head, turning to face her now.
“Yes, ma’am. I have a senses quirk, so I eliminated their sight so, uh, Dynamite could get the upper hand,” you explain. She smiles at this, becoming more fascinated by the second as you explain what happened. You answer any questions she has, noticing the sun is starting to go down.
“Well, it’s getting dark. I’ll let you go! Have a great day—oh! What’s your hero name?”
“It’s Esthesia,” you say before saluting and walking away.
On your walk home, a guy gives you an unseemly smile as his eyes flicker up and down your body. “Hey, baby. Where you going?” You give him a bored look as you raise your hand, taking his, and your, sight away as you continue to walk straight. He begins to panic, your ears listening as he runs around frantically before crashing into a brick wall. When his body hits the ground, you return both of your vision with a smirk.
“Have a nice night!” you sarcastically call to his groaning figure.
Tumblr media
The second time you meet Dynamight—you learned from the news how it’s actually spelled—it was under pretty much the same circumstances. You stay by the sidelines, appearing as a civilian to everyone which is exactly what you wanted.
You raise your hand and remove the villain’s sight, listening for signs that the villain is defeated. When you return your vision though, you find a villain coming from above to attack Dynamight.
“Dynamight!” you shout in warning, pointing up for him to see what your warning is for. He never looks at you though, allowing the villain to attack him from above. You quickly remove that villain’s sight, hoping that you weren’t too late. Why did he just ignore you like that? Is he that stubborn?
When your vision comes back, you find that he has taken out all of the villains again. You charge towards him once you see this, coming up behind him. “Why did you ignore me? You could’ve been killed!” you shout, afraid for the hero’s life. He keeps his back to you though, his eyes moving from villain to villain to make sure that they will stay down. “Hey!” you shout as you lightly shove him to gain his attention.
“Hey!” he copies as he catches his balance and spins around, his eyes alight with an inferno that’s normally directed at villains. When he sees it’s you though, that inferno shrinks to a flame. “What is your problem?” he screams.
You scoff as you cross your arms over your chest, a glare of your own staring right back at him. “My problem? My problem is that you keep ignoring me! I was trying to help you back there and you didn’t even turn to acknowledge me! You could’ve avoided that attack altogether!” you shout right back, your eyes moving to the wound on his shoulder that he received from that villain. Your eyes return to his face when he huffs and looks away from you.
And just like before, he walks away from you, causing your jaw to drop open. “Hey! You don’t get to do this to me again!” you shout, running to stand in front of him. You notice that the police have arrived to take the bad guys away, which Bakugo also notices.
“Get out of my way,” he snaps, moving to go around you until you just block his way again.
“No! This is the second time I’ve helped you! You can at least thank me!” He doesn’t react to your words. He doesn’t even have an expression on his face anymore. He, again, just moves around you and walks away. This time though, you let him go.
“Fine! That’s the last time I help you then!” you declare.
It’s not.
He just seems to have an invisible sign that you can’t see that says, “Come attack me! I’m alone! Please beat me up!” You don’t understand why he never has backup. Well, besides you, that is.
After helping out several times though, you finally come across him in battle with another hero. About time. Where was he the last six times you’ve helped him?
You watch from afar, only helping if one of them seems to be struggling a bit. You notice that the other hero acts differently around Bakugo. Their body language is different and he never calls out to him. Does he not like him? Cause you sure don’t.
After the fight is over and the police have escorted the villains away, the heroes leave after interacting with the civilians for a bit. You notice that no one talks to Dynamight though. How is he the number three hero but isn’t popular amongst the civilians? That makes his situation even odder to you.
When they finally leave, you quickly catch up to them. “Hey! Hi, sorry! I just wanted to say that you guys did a great job!” you congratulate with a grin, not even looking in Dynamight’s way.
The guy with flaming red hair, named Red Riot you believe, gives you a toothy grin. “Oh, thanks! You’re Esthesia, right? I’ve seen you on the news with Bakubro a couple of times.” You raise your brow at the nickname but realize he’s talking about Dynamight.
“Oh, yes! It’s nice to meet you! You’re Red Riot, right?” At this, his smile gets even brighter, if possible.
“Sure is! You can call me Kirishima though! This is Bakugo,” he introduces. It takes everything in you not to scoff.
“Yeah. I’ve saved his ass a time or two before,” you say as calmly as possible. Kirishima looks to Bakugo and finds that he’s not even looking at you.
“Sorry about him. He can be so moody.” You raise your brow when Bakugo doesn’t come to his own defense, seeming to just take the playful blow.
“That’s one word to describe him. Anyway, I don’t want to keep you guys up. I just wanted to congratulate you,” you explain with a warm smile.
“Oh, it’s no problem at all! It was nice to finally meet the hero who has saved Bakugo’s ass so many times! Say, how about we meet up sometime? It’d be great for you to meet some of the other heroes. Your quirk is really useful!” You blush at this but nod nonetheless.
“Oh, that would be great! I love helping where I can!” You pull out your phone for Kirishima to put his number into your phone, this finally grabbing Bakugo’s attention, but he remains quiet.
“Super! I’ll text you when some of the others are free. We can all get drinks or something,” he says as he hands your phone back to you.
“Can’t wait! It was nice meeting you!” you say cheerfully before you leave the duo to go to the RCV, which is where you were heading before you stopped to help.
About a week later, you get a text from Kirishima asking if you’d be free Sunday night. You agreed to meet him at a restaurant and you couldn’t help but grow excited at the chance to finally meet other heroes in the area.
Sunday night came in a blink of an eye it seemed, your heart beating faster with each mile you get closer to the meeting place. You park your car and double-check that your outfit is in order before heading inside. You look around for spiky, red hair, and it only takes you a second to find him.
“Kirishima!” you call as you near the table. Everyone but a certain blond turns at the sound of your voice. His eyes look at his friends before finally looking at you. You make eye contact with him for a moment before looking at Kirishima.
“Hey, (Y/n)! You look great!” he greets, standing up and pulling out the only empty chair.
“Thank you,” you say with a blush, slowly taking the seat, to which he pushes the chair in for you once you’ve sat down.
“Everyone, this is (Y/n). (Y/n), this is everyone,” he introduces playfully as he takes his own seat. Once he’s settled, he properly introduces you to everyone, to which you happily greeted them all.
“And finally, Mr. Grumpy-Mc-Grumpy-Pants over there is Bakugo, which you already know,” he says as he taps Bakugo’s arm. Bakugo turns to look at Kirishima before following his finger to you.
“It’s nice to officially meet you,” you greet with much sarcasm. He, like always, remains silent and looks back down to his menu. You huff and decide to open up your own menu, trying not to be bothered by being shot down by the handsome male.
For the rest of the evening, weird things occurred. Kirishima always taps him when someone says his name, Bakugo’s eyes roaming the table until he focuses on the person speaking. Kirishima taps him again when it’s his turn to order. You’ve seen people talk with their hands, both literally and figuratively, but these people really seem to get into it, making wide and crazy gestures.
It wasn’t until your waiter came to your table with your food that you finally realized what was going on.
“So, (Y/n), tell us about your quirk. Bakugo hasn’t shined any sort of light on what your quirk is and Kirishima seems a little lost at what your quirk actually is,” Mina says with a smile.
Before you can reply though, your waiter and another worker bring your food to the table. “Who got the kung pao chicken?” the other worker asks, looking around the table. Kirishima was checking his phone when the question was asked, Bakugo not letting the waiter know that it’s what he ordered.
This is when it hits you.
The tapping. The blank, bored look. The quiet replies. The crazy gestures.
He’s deaf.
God, you’re such an idiot! You work with deaf people all of the time! How did you not realize until now?
“He got it,” you inform with widened eyes, your eyes staring at the blond. His eyes squint at you for pointing at him before realizing that you were just showing the waiter where his food goes. Once everyone has their food, you clear your throat.
“So, um, Bakugo is deaf?” you shyly ask. This causes everyone to pause and stare at you for a moment.
“Uh, yeah,” Kirishima answers, “Sorry, I assumed you knew…” he apologizes.
You shake your head, turning your gaze to Bakugo as you continue. “But why does he act like that?” you ask.
“Like what?” Kaminari asks with a furrow to his brows.
“I work with deaf people all of the time. A lot of them are decent at reading lips to some extent and most know, or are learning, JSL. Bakugo seems...like he doesn’t care or that it doesn’t bother him? Does he know JSL?” you explain quietly despite the fact that the man you’re talking about can’t hear you.
Kirishima sighs as he sets down his chopsticks. “Bakugo has been deaf for about a year and a half now. He knows JSL and uses it when necessary, but for the most part, he doesn’t like using it or when others use it to talk to him. It makes him feel....belittled, if you will. Like he has to have special treatment or something. I do my best to help him but I’m not perfect,” he explains, the last part being directed at what just happened.
You slowly nod your head as you take this all in, a small frown coming to your face. “So, you guys don’t know what my quirk really is, right?” you ask softly, a smile starting to come to your face. They all look confused in your change of subject but nod along anyway.
“Yeah, I was asking you about it before our food came. Kirishima says you can make people blind, or something?” Mina pipes up. You confuse them more when you begin to grin, all of them sharing a look amongst themselves.
“Do you want to see something amazing?” you ask, your eyes flickering over to Bakugo.
“Please don’t make me blind,” Denki begs, starting to ramble about needing to be able to see pretty girls. Jiro shushes him and then focuses back on you again.
You raise your hand to Bakugo, taking a deep breath before slowly giving him the ability to hear. Everyone looks to him when he drops his chopsticks, his hands shaking as he stares wide-eyed at his plate. His chopsticks landing onto the table is the last thing you hear before your own hearing is gone.
“I’m confused. What happened?” you read from Sero’s lips. You remain quiet and just keep smiling, your eyes focused on Bakugo. Bakugo’s eyes snap to Sero when he speaks, something seeming to lodge in his throat.
Before he can stop it, he’s tearing up.
“Bakubro! What’s going on?” Kirishima worriedly shouts, looking between you and him. “(Y/n)! What did you do to him?” Kirishima asks worriedly. At the mention of your name, Bakugo finally looks at you.
“I can hear,” he mutters, his voice barely being heard from how thick his throat feels. When everyone starts to say that they didn’t hear him and to repeat himself, he rubs furiously at his eyes and takes a deep breath. “God, I forgot just how annoying your voices are,” he complains, trying hard not to smile.
Everyone freezes at this.
“What?”
“You can hear?”
“What’s going on?”
“My voice is just fine, thank you!”
Everyone starts talking at once, bombarding him with their voices. A small smile comes to his face despite his best effort, looking at all of them fondly. He looks to you again, eyeing you up as the others continue to chatter on.
“Well, you being able to do this would’ve been nice to know a long time ago,” he grumbles. You stare at his lips, doing your best to read them. The average deaf person can only understand about 30% of what someone is saying based on just their lips though.
“Sorry, can you use JSL?” you ask politely before picking up your chopsticks to begin eating.
This causes everyone to freeze once more.
“Huh?”
“But why?”
Seeing their confused faces, you realize that you never explained your quirk. You give them the rundown before finishing with, “When I use my quirk on someone else, I lose the sense that I’m taking away or giving. So, in this case, I gave Bakugo hearing so now I can’t hear. This is all temporary, of course.”
The table vibrates with Bakugo’s hit, making your eyes widen as you look at him. “Take my hearing back away,” he demands, not using JSL despite your wishes. Your brows furrow at this, luckily understanding what he said anyway.
“What? Why? You were so happy just a minute ago,” you reply confusedly.
“No, I wasn’t! I’m perfectly fine being deaf! I don’t want your pity!” he shouts, grabbing the attention of nearby customers. With him talking so fast, you weren’t able to catch what he said. This is when an idea comes to mind.
You simply look away from him and down at your plate, starting to eat without another word. “Hey! I’m talking to you!” Bakugo shouts, realizing too late that, duh, you can’t hear him. “Don’t ignore me!”
Ah, the irony.
The others eventually get him to calm down, bright and warm smiles on their faces at seeing him act like his old self. Don’t get them wrong, he still acts like this all the time but there’s this...new fire to him that hasn’t been there in a while.
When he finally lets it go, you all start eating. The others use JSL to talk to you, seeing as how they all learned it for Bakugo, despite the fact that he didn’t want them to use it. It was a nice dinner, really.
When the night comes to an end, you all stand up and walk out of the restaurant together. “So, when will Bakugo lose his hearing again?” Kirishima asks curiously, signing out the words for you.
“Well, I can only use my quirk for so long before it starts to become dangerous, just like when you guys use your quirk for an extended amount of time. Because I use my quirk so much though every day all day, he could stay like this all night. I’m assuming we are all going our separate ways though…”
“Oh, okay. Well, we all really appreciate what you’re doing for him,” Kirishima signs with a kind smile. You smile back at him, not seeing Bakugo say ‘I don’t.’
“It’s no problem at all, really. I just wish I knew about it earlier, so I could help him sooner,” you apologize, turning to look at Bakugo now. By the look on his face and the way his mouth moves, you’re assuming he scoffed.
“Do you think we could hang out again soon? I think it would be good for Bakugo to-”
“What’s with that crazy idea? I’m going home,” Bakugo snaps before turning to leave. Seeing him leave, you slowly raise your hand and switch both of your hearing back. You bite your lip when he stops, the sounds of cars going past on the road and the chatter of people nearby suddenly going silent for him once more.
He almost feels like he’s going to be sick.
He turns back around, wondering how he can get you to give his hearing back without actually saying he wants it back. His eyes widen in surprise when all of the sounds come back, a small smile coming to your face.
“Not everyone has the opportunity to get their hearing back, even for just a little while. So, be grateful.”
Tumblr media
It took a while for Bakugo to finally warm up to you but after a month or so, he finally accepted your presence. It took him three to actually refer to you as a friend. It took half a year for Bakugo to admit to himself that you’re his best friend; he’d never tell you or Kirishima that though. It’s been a year and he still can’t admit to himself that he likes you more than as a friend.
Bakugo takes a bite of the food you made, his face scrunching up in mock disgust. “What did you put in this? Rat poison?” he jokes. It honestly didn’t taste half bad but he wasn’t about to admit that out loud to you.
He watches you dance to the music that he can’t hear, your lips moving as you sing. He wishes he could hear it. He watches you stop and turn to look at him at his insult, your mouth showing your scoff.
“Do you want to die?” you ask as you swipe your thumb across your neck. He smirks at you as he makes a show of taking another bite. He doesn’t hear you hum but he watches as you sign, “Yeah, that’s what I thought, chump.” He’s the one to scoff now, his eyes rolling with his annoyance.
He’s told you time and time again not to use JSL but you never listen. He secretly appreciates it because he doesn’t have to piece things together when you use it. He still acts peeved when you do it though.
“I’m not a chump. You’re the chump,” he snaps. You set your food down before walking over to the big speaker on your kitchen counter that is currently playing one of your favorite songs. You stand in front of it and place your hands against it before raising your other hand over to Bakugo.
His ears are suddenly greeted with the sound of the music, a frown coming to his face as he looks at you. While he appreciates being able to have his hearing back, he hates that you lose yours in the process. He’s pulled out of his train of thought when you start singing, his eyes becoming wide. You use the vibrations emitting from the radio to keep tempo, singing in sync with the artist.
Talking without hearing was easy for you but you’ve never tried singing without your ability to hear before. This shows as you softly sing, your voice shaky and out of tune at some points.
It’s the most beautiful thing that Bakugo had ever heard.
Your voice is as sweet as caramel. He watches you with a soft smile on his face, not even realizing that it’s there. When the song comes to an end, you bring your food over to the speaker and eat while your free hand remains pressed against the speaker to ‘hear’ the music.
To his surprise, one of his favorite songs comes on after a couple of minutes and you grew so excited when you realized this. You belt each word with immense confidence, not a sign of hesitation or worry in your voice.
This is when he realizes that he’s in love with you.
