me worldbuilding: there are some little bunny-people that are well known for their lovely gardens.
they were literally made for war and even though it has been centuries since they were under the thumb of the evil wizard that created them, their society still reflects this, being highly stratified and highly conformist.
occasionally, some jackass will think that the sweet lil bunbuns will be easily bullied off their valuable farmlands, and gets his ass kicked to a pulp for trying.
#they've got forward facing eyes with slit pupils like cats#and their tails are much larger relative to their bodies#than actual rabbits#bc they use them to counter-balance#so they walk bipedally#they do have a very high birthrate#but with extremely high infant mortality to match#their laws consider children too young to walk#as property and not people

the biggest battle in this dungeon is with the humidity
But there are some benefits
#treecko#skitty#pokemon doodles#original art#Fluffy creature#There are pros and cons to having fur#Anyway here’s skitty as a pastry#Also reminder that treecko walks like this#Because they apparently couldn’t decide if it was bipedal or not#So why not both?#At least the walking is better than the idle animation#Just T-posing and bouncing in place

We've discussed how too many "universal therian experiences" posts are just canine or otherwise generally mammalian but now we should talk about how many "exclusively human things/humans all have this weird thing!" posts are actually just talking about something that animals other than caniformes do
#like ''how come humans think it's weird to want to play fetch >:( '' idk man I'm a bird and I also think it's weird. maybe just a dog thing#''the way humans will get so offended if you take some of their food like aren't we a pack!'' no and I'm biting you#+ any and every mention of the words bipedal or plantigrade#''ugh i hate how HUMANS walk on two legs just wanna be an animal am i right my fellow therians'' 🐦⬛ wjat#''the therian urge to toe walk because stupid human bodies are plantigrade and it's not animal enough'' 🦡 huh#alterhuman#therian

So i had a dream last night which wasn't a nightmare and i even remember most of it! which is super exciting. I barely ever remember dreams that are just simply that so this is a fairly rare occasion for me.
It was weird tho
But it was.. i don't even know what it was so let me ramble about it in the tags a bit
#there was this bioluminescent and also biotoxic creature in a city at night#it was bipedal sort of humanoid shaped but with definitive deep sea features#it had that transparent skin and flesh and body with bioluminescing highlights#which i have no idea how it worked because the entire dream took place in a city enviroment on very much dry land but it's a dream innit#the face was definitely not human more a jumble of fishy features#it was gorgeous btw in a humanoid monster sort of fascinating way#it had this weird feel to it that it's something very old that should not be here now.. some sort of reminiscence of a bygone era#i might try to draw it but i don't know how successful i'd be to be honest#anyway so i was part of a group (don't know what kind exactly) and i never seen any of them i just knew they existed#and there was this innate knowledge that the creature was kind of hunting or more like luring us but we also were hunting it#i don't know if it did something to us before or we just had this unexplainable pull towards it but we definitely were fixated on it#and it was supposed to be a big threat even just by existing and walking around but also would have been bad if it was dead#but i don't know why was it so bad because the “toxicity” of the creature wasn't lethal it just made you stuck in a blissful delirious stat#just by being too close to it and which in most cases would fade when it moved away so the other alternative felt way worse#cuz if it would die something else would have gotten loose which would have been worse than the delirium#it was some sort of unstoppable deadly madness i think.. at least that was what i felt the dream eluded to#and i think we wanted to neutralize it somehow but we had no idea how to avoid disaster that surely would come if it dies#but it would have also revitalize nature on a basically divine scale by giving it's body back to it so there was this dilemma the whole tim#but none of us would have any answers so we just followed this inner draw regardless of the uncertainty#and the entire dream was basically us lureing the creature somewhere but simultaniously it was somehow luring us in as wel#to the same spot#it was a vast moonlit fieald outside of city bounds surrounded with tall dark trees and the sky was littered with stars#and a sharp cliff to one side#so we arrived there and we were standing on opposite sides and look towards each other#but looking into the creatures eyes literally woke me up#there was a noise it made and i know i understood it as words inside the dream but i can't remember what it was after waking just the noise#and that was it#it wasn't long i think tho it felt that way

I haven't finished the main storyline of No Man's Sky yet (it's my second-most played game on Steam, after an idle game that I keep open for most of the day in the background; I started playing it in late July). But this feels like the thesis statement of the game, and I love it.
The world is ending in 16 minutes (16 weeks, years, lifetimes, millions of years, who's to say). Nothing here can be saved. What else matters?
Your experience of the world you have. What you make of it.
#no man's sky#primary gripes with the game:#I wish the animal generation were weirder and more unpredictable#I wish oceans went deeper#I wish terrain wouldn't regenerate in bases....#I wish there could be a higher limit on objects you could have in a base#maybe some more dramatic terrain#...the first two are the big ones I'd really petition for though#I want animals I don't expect and after a while you rarely run into those#the repeated plants and rocks bother me less but the animals....#idc if they move weird#have you seen those stupid bipedal bearcats?#(idk what else to call them#they're like bipedal bearcats and sometimes they have wings and they walk SO STUPIDLY)

One of these days I’ll stop making OC pairs and I will make more side characters or just one OC at a time BUT THAT IS NOT TODAY (see tags for more I don’t like cluttering the post)
#my art#my ocs#okay so regency romance BUT#mythical creatures walk about in society#most non humans will be obvious but dragons#dragons hide in a human disguise to protect the fact that they do have a treasure hoard stowed away#but whoopsie the girl covered in freckles found out her neighbors secret and now they are at odds instead of realizing that#they like each other lmao#idk what else to do with them tbh I just wanted a monster regency romance that wasn’t like…focused on smut but actual emotions#but monster fucker books DONT YOU EVER CHANGE#we just need more monster romance/fluff stuff too#OH also dragons can shift into three things#a big large dragon#a person sized bipedal dragon#or just a person

do u think spamton misses his cungaderos like a person would miss their pet if it was taken away from them. i think about it every day
#i think they still sell cungaderos perhaps under a different brand name like they did with the big shot bowtie in color cafe#just another reason for him to absolutely go off his shit#i imagine him going out on the street and seeing someone driving a cungadero and they both look at eachother during a red light#but spamton looks so different by this point and to an extent is a shell of his past self and the car doesnt recognize who he is#im upset about cars#spamton#deltarune#watever#im going to sound insane in the tags i have a silly headscanon the cars are sentient in a way hence walking around like bipedal creatures

i think mursharna are supposed to be bipedal but it looks weird to me so i took that away from ophelia sijsjdjdjdnndnd
#green talks#‘’bipedal’’ in the sense that i dont think they ever walk or anything but they clearly ‘’stand’’ on two legs while floating#and#uh.#i think the shape of munna is so perfect….why did they take that away from her when she evolves………#so if you see me draw ophelia and think ‘’shes shaped wrong as a musharna’’ yes she is and also i dont care#i grew up watching epicguitar's flipnotes and always admired the fact that guitar would draw pokemon differently...#so im trying to have that type of...confidence...is it? style...?#trainer bebop

i wonder if theres science behind bioware choosing to make all but 3 bipedal races digitigrade as opposed to plantigrade
#esp bc biologically speaking being bipedal to begin with is a fucking disaster#it plays hell on the spine and internal organs in a way being quadrupedal doesnt#so i imagine walking on your toes makes that worse#crit.txt

if humans were made in gods image it must’ve been solely out of spite
#built different [horribly]#not-so daily reminder that humans are the only animal with arched feet specifically so they can walk standing straight up#facultative bipedalism would’ve been a much better option impo#:0

[ID: an orange and white cat seated in a loaf position and looking at the camera. End ID]
Absolute biggest bipedal fuck-up is that we can't lie down and look forward comfortably.
Dogs and cats and cows are out there lying down in the grass and just seeing everything and what do we have? Lie on your stomach and fuck up your neck? Lie on your back and shove 400 pillows under your head? Lie on your side and just accept everything's fucking sideways? I hate this fucking evolutionary form
#bipedalism is great in so many ways but the drawbacks are HUGE#ever wonder why humans have so much more trouble giving birth than most animals? a combination fo bipedal pelvis structure and#our massive fucking brains#also part of why our babies are born so helpless! if they were born any later their heads wouldn't fit through the birth canal#partially because of the limiting bipdeal pelvis structure#i would need to dig up old textbooks for more examples but god bipedalism has drawbacks. huge ones#i wouldn't want to change it because i love walking upright and using my hands for tasks#but never let it be said that evolution makes things perfect. evolution makes things good enough.#specifically if it doesn't help you pass on your genes evolution doesn't give a shit#anthropology#human evolution

worldbuilding is truly a hell of your own making bcus i am struggling so much making this one reptilian race bcus i refuse to do the “crocodile/lizard mishmash with upright posture” that u see all the time
#i suffer so much for caring more about this than any sensible person would but also not being enough of a nerd to just know some stuff#like i want them to be capable of walking bipedally so yeah. i could just copy theropods. but i already have a theropod race#and i want them to feel substantially different so initially i was like okay theyre more lizard/croclike#but making one of those guys just stand upright and calling it a day feels lame#like its doesnt make sense theyre not built for it physically and also bcus i love making myself suffer why eould#they become bipeds from an evolutionary standpoint. fuck it lets recreate triassic dinosaur hip evolution#does this matter for the story at hand absolutely not but its important to me that it makes sense at least a little#even if its not rigorously scientifically accurate. if i just made these guys lizards i would get bored of them so fast#*rigorous whatever#chatots

Spirit Time! - Daílaki and Lakielos
You guys are getting a character time post AND a new post about spirits? Hell yeah!
Because my keyboard does not like me, Daílaki will be spelled Dailaki. Very sorry 'bout that.
Dailakis are small, rabbit-like creatures with upright ears, glowing white eyes, and no mouth or visible nose. They are completely indistinguishable from shadows, being a complete absence of light, with the exception of their eyes. They have short, pointed tails that more closely resemble a spike than anything on a living animal. It is curled up slightly. Dailakis have no fur, but a faint fuzz that is as thick or thin as the spirit wants it. It is heavily debated on whether or not this fuzz is even a solid part of the spirit, or simply magic that feels solid. They are on the more peaceful side for spirits, choosing to avoid conflict where they can. They do not feed on physical food, and therefore see no need to hunt. It is said that they are fueled by magic. You will never find a Dailaki alone, as they are always with Lakielos or a balance (a group of these spirits) of the two species.
While Dailaki and Lakielos are widely regarded as two different different spirits, many people speculate that they are one in the same, with Lakielos being blessed by a goddess. This is incorrect.
Lakielos are also small, rabbit-like creatures, with floppy ears, and their eyes being a void of inky nothing. They have sharp teeth resembling those of a shark's, and no visible nose. They hide easily in the day, looking like pure light bunny-ified. They have sharp, pointed tails that often has a jagged crook in them, making the tails have a lightning bolt shape. It is turned downwards. Lakielos have no fur and tend not to have the fuzz their Dailaki counterparts have. While they are typically peaceful, they are more prone to violence than Dailakis. They do have mouths, but they are rarely used for anything other than attacking. Lakielos have the ability to eat solid food, but do not require it to survive. They tend to lead around their Dailaki, but if they get too harsh with their guiding, fights break out. These spirits are evenly matched and there will be no victor.
No Dailaki or Lakielos can assume a more human form with the exception of J and R. J and R were, in fact, blessed with these forms for purposes that I am not getting into here. Both of them have traits that remain in spite of this, with them having to hide their lengthy ears and stubby tails. Though the tails practically hide themselves.
#spirit time#dailaki#lakielos#i forgot to mention#theyre both bipedal#these things walk on their giant rabbit back legs#do not ask me what their bones look like#do not assume these things have details#they look like a vague outline#the only sharp points are tails and teeth#no claws#no real defined features#the eyes are ovals#plain ovals#the paws are all rounded#not quite cartoony in nature#but its comparable#pretty round looking things if i say so myself#j#r
