"Colombia’s congress has voted to change a law that allowed minors to get married with parental consent.

The proposal would make the minimum age for marriage 18, and seeks to protect the rights and development opportunities for minors. It still must be signed into law by President Gustavo Petro.

Currently, the country’s civil code allows person as young as 14 years old to get married with parental consent.

The initial proposal to reform the law – presented in 2023 – used the slogan “they’re girls, not wives” and aimed to prevent young girls from being forced to marry, to be subject to different forms of violence and to miss out on education and development opportunities.

“Minors are not sexual objects, they’re girls,” congresswoman Clara López Obregón said in a statement after the proposal was greenlit.

Child marriage remains a widespread practice worldwide and affects around 12 million girls per year, according to the UN’s agency for children, UNICEF.

But there’s been a global drop in child marriages over the past few years, according to the agency’s statistics. “Ten years ago, one in four young women aged 20 to 24 was married as a child. Today that number has fallen to one in five,” UNICEF said.

In Latin America, poverty is the main factor leading to minors getting married, according to UNICEF."

She's the only one so far who was introduced without a family name (it's curious that Shamrock is not called a Saint, but at least he was introduced as a Figarland). So either she was a commoner before joining the God's Knights or...

There's something about her power, how it "shows the trajectory of her future" but can also be used to influence other people's "futures" (the sleeping children) and how Imu has been responsible for the trajectory of the whole world, even if no one knows about it

As for why Imu would do this, idk man, it must be terribly boring to spend all day in a castle with nothing to do and only like 5 old guys to keep you company, so since no one can know of Imu's existence, why not a disguise working with the people who would probably see the most action out of the Celestial Dragons, ie be the most interesting

Imu also has a power that looks pretty similar to Gunko's, which he used to attack Cobra and Sabo at the Reverie

The title of chapter 1141, Older Woman (年上の女), means a woman who has lived longer than you, not just a generically mature woman (like a MILF), so unless there is a hidden giant somewhere who is magically older than Jarul, he is out of luck, since the only other person who may be older than him is... Imu (assuming they really are the Nerona Imu from the Void Century). And maybe Oda just named that chapter like that for shits n'giggles, but it would also be really fucking funny if it turns out that's how he was teasing information about one of the biggest villains in the series

It would also explain why Gunko's biggest fear is Nika (I've seen theories about her being a former slave and wondering why Nika didn't save her, but to me that would make her resentful, not afraid), since Imu at least has some pretty strong feelings about Joyboy's Haki, but also an all powerful being controlling the future of the world in the shadows would be terrified of the Sun God, Warrior of Liberation, come to not only shed light onto his actions but also to break the chains holding the people of the world captive, or something

The past few weeks have been garbage so I haven't really been able to sit down and write anything much to my dismay.

I shit you not, in one week alone I had to deal with my job being late paying me, my account going negative almost $100 because of this, unable to get my meds for a week, my pharmacy telling me my insurance no longer covers my meds, insurance finding a new manufacturer for my meds, and still having more bills coming while having a negative account.

Then on top of it all only getting like 3-5 hours of sleep a night due to the stress and anxiety orz
