⭐️ || Zoro becomes one of the few privileged people to become Thea's nap buddy. Whenever they happen to cross paths for longer than a day, she will gladly curl up beside or on top of him whenever and where-ever he settles down for a nap. It's usually that she uses him as a pillow, but he's welcome to lay his head on her lap or stomach if the mood strikes. There's something to be said about her willingness to doze out in the open as long as Zoro is with her.

Hello darling!! *gives you a kiss on the cheek* 😙💚
May I please request scenarios for Law, Ace, and Zoro (separately) finding out that their female S/O is the result of a forbidden romance between a pirate and a Marine? Let's say Alvida and Admiral Akainu??? (sorry it's the only unreal ship I had in mind lol) You know, when they were young and they didn't really know each other's identities and fell in love HARD and after knowing, it was too late cuz: PREGNANT!! AND everyone was like HOW??? And because of the pressure of people and their jobs, they decided to keep the baby but with the father cuz it's more safe (but at the same time not really overflowing with love). Their story is a very famous one, but no one really knows who's the child? But eventually s/o become a strawhat much to the father's anger and have a lot of trust, love issues.. and kind of a lot of mixed feelings for her parents cuz she doesn't know if she has to be grateful for just being born and raised in such good conditions (marine privileges) or hateful cuz they never gave her love, attention or just a proper explanation of the whole situation..
That's it!! I hope it's not too long or too detailed! Feel free to ignore the ask if you don't want to do it! 👌
Also i don't remember how scenario works so if you accept just one character, could you do Law please? Thank you! and have a great writing session! 💚💚💚💚
hello, hello 💖 so sorry for the wait, it came out longer than expected so i stuck to law instead <3 it's probably a little more angst than you bargained for, but c'est la vie.
1.8k words, fem reader, sfw (shocking, so shocking), tons of angst (ur welcome), lying (obvy), there's other stuff that idr but it's gonna be a good time i promise 🥴
as usual, fate refuses to be on your side. the realization of this keeps you up night after night, your body barely holding up throughout the week. it’s better to be away from the others—to be away from him, really, the distance a chilling reminder. you’re running out of time. so, you pace around your cabin, bite your nails and pull at your hair—the strands floating down to the floor as moonlight filters in, frustration pouring out of your mouth; small rivulets of bitterness and anger. nothing fucking works.
several newspaper clippings curl up into each other—the frayed paper weathered and crinkled, a stark contrast against the dark wood of your desk. the headlines are bold, sassy, yet impersonal; there are more speculations on the identity of admiral akainu’s child.
it never fails to make you question exactly why they want to know so badly; who even cares, right? apparently there are enough curious minds that the news publications can’t stop reporting on it. for a few years, there’s a lull in interest—but once the whitebeard pirates clash with the navy at marineford, there’s a dire, bubbling need to know.
your stomach turns at the thought.
you let out a distressed sigh, flop onto your bed, and sink into the mattress lazily, as if your world isn’t currently aflame. the lies get harder and harder to keep up with as the years go on; they flow with ease as you improvise, but then people ask questions—and more questions, and follow up questions, clarifying questions, inquisitive but vague questions; questions you aren’t ready or sure of how to answer just yet.
just the thought of that—of dealing with the weight of your lies and your absolute cowardice, brings a sour taste to your mouth. you’re not sure if this is how things are supposed to be, but you certainly don’t like any of it.
in theory, your plan makes sense. your father is well-known—a ruthless, self righteous, imposing force of nature that looms menacingly, an inescapable storm, casting judgement as if he is the sky and his words are destruction—attacking like bolts of vicious lightning, the worst kind of threat to unsuspecting pirates and criminals. you should love him, you should be grateful that he’s protected you the majority of your life, you should keep to yourself, not get into trouble, not cause him trouble. but you don’t. none of it matters to you.
a marine’s life is one that’s wrought with danger, uncertainty, and obligation. you’re not a marine, but admiral akainu wants you to be. and god forbid you don’t do as your father says. he sets an intricate plan for your life; elite schooling, physical training, strict curfews, no wiggle room for play, friends, love. to covet a father’s love is to sit in darkness, praying for a glimpse of sunlight—artificial or natural, it’s all the same to you.
you try your best; get good grades, have impeccable manners. under your father’s roof, there is no room for sentimentality, no room for forgiveness, no room for mistakes. except…you are the one mistake that he cannot erase, the truth coming to light in the form of a carelessly discarded letter that your mother sends to him on a bleak, winter morning. she never signs her letters, but you’ve memorized her handwriting—you can spot it anywhere. the heartache doesn’t hit you until the holidays, where you’re forced to endure the cheer and joy of others, where there’s celebration in marineford town—various holiday decorations strung up, the townspeople joyful, boisterous, obnoxiously content with the lives they live on that insipid island.
akainu never makes it home for dinner, rarely sees you at breakfast, so you stew and you plan, biding your time for the ‘right’ moment. it’s because of your connection to the navy that you’re privy to more information than you should be—and because of that your disdain for the powers in charge, for the world government, and yes, even your father, grows exponentially. the war leaves you torn—the absolute carnage left behind from the fighting, the distasteful way your father brutally murders ace, the bravery of a certain straw hat wearing captain leading you to finally take the plunge.
your nights are plagued by nightmares, voices hidden in the shadow reminding you to act. so, naturally, your rebellion blindsides everyone.
the pirate life isn’t ideal, but, like your father, your quest for justice is much bigger than life itself. you go by a different name, cut your hair short and dye it. you drop your pleasantries, forced politeness, and instead let your true blasé attitude shine through—the one that you were unable to use in public or at home. when you show your capabilities, when luffy sees how determined you are to make waves in the world he accepts you willfully and with purpose.
the others are wary, but regardless they respect their captain’s decision.
because of the wily, untamed nature of fate, you meet trafalgar law and his band of equally zany crewmates. you don’t expect a connection, but it happens, strangely enough, and your nights suddenly aren’t so terrifying anymore.
it takes convincing, but you do eventually leave the straw hats—law pointing out that it makes absolutely no sense why you’d stay with them when you can be with him. your true nature is not to be a pirate, but a purveyor of justice and anarchy—a good mix in law’s most humble opinion. after years together, you learn that it’s impossible to keep hiding things from him, that at any given moment you’re clawing at your throat ready to just scream and tell him everything.
but that never happens, does it?
a coward through and through, a dismissive letter from akainu—now the current fleet admiral, to your dismay—informing you that your ties to him are no longer needed. you did what he could not—and just like that, your father ups the bounty on your head.
the idea of being a wanted criminal isn’t an issue, it’s that you forgot to burn the letter and carelessly left it on your bed. when law finds it, things start clicking for him. your reluctance to talk about your past, your fidgety and flighty behavior, the way you constantly seize up whenever the admirals are mentioned, the panic attacks at the sight of the warships. it all makes sense now.
so he waits. and waits. and waits.
he waits so damn long that it hurts to look at you; he doesn’t return your embrace, nor does he talk to you as fondly as he used to. there’s a hardened edge to his words—clipped, terse, nearly unsympathetic as he tries to bait you into a confession.
it’s when he finally corners you in his office that you tell him everything. it feels so good to get it off your chest, but each minute that passes only makes his heart close off to you more and more. you reach a shaky hand his way, the tears you’ve held onto for so many years causing you the worst kind of agony; it’s not your father’s indifference that guts you, it’s law’s.
resistance is a bitch to cultivate.. an unshakeable urge creeps over him, one where he wants to stroke your hair, dry your tears, drop kisses along your face to make you feel better. but he doesn’t. he refrains, because if there is one thing he is absolutely skilled at doing, it’s depriving himself of any semblance of happiness he thinks he doesn’t deserve.
so this works as a double punishment—one for you, and one for him.
he looks at you coldly, his voice monotone, aloof, void of any emotion as he tells you the one thing you don’t want to here.
“get the fuck off of my ship.”
even as you plead, beg him to see reason—he doesn’t budge. it’s not often you feel regret for your actions, but you wish you could turn back time and try again—the proper way. you should’ve told him sooner, you know that; but it still hurts.
the island they leave you on is relatively well-known, but you’re not given an opportunity to say goodbye, nor do you have it in you to chase after him. he hates tearful goodbyes, and this one has him locked in his room, throwing things indiscriminately as his rage takes eons to settle. his crewmates let him be, and while he might want to forgive you a little, he can’t help but see red whenever he thinks of you being akainu’s flesh and blood. it’s ridiculous, he should absolutely hate you. but he doesn’t—he can’t bring himself to. and maybe one day he will, and maybe one day you’ll hate him too.
but that day won’t come for a long, long time.
fate really dislikes you, but it takes pity one morning when you find yourself on the beach, an unknown ship approaching the shore. you’ve grown accustomed to searching for the polar tang, the hope that maybe he’ll turn back around and come find you burns fervently in your chest. your heart is a pitiful thing, you know that better than anyone, but still you keep going.
the ship in question is ludicrous, a shocking splash of pinks and reds and other colors that don’t make sense to you—and when they anchor nearby, when a tall, slender woman saunters off of the ship, laughing coyly at something someone says, recognition dawns on you.
you know that face. you’ve dreamt about that face. she is your face. foolish, you’re so very foolish. you run through the sand, tears welling in your eyes as you approach her, out of breath and sweaty. she recoils instinctively, a dismissive look on her face, but pales when she takes in the shape of your nose, the fine hairs on your eyebrows, the startling resemblance to herself.
“y/n…?” she asks cautiously, a small, forced smile on her face. when her crewmates inquire about who you are, she simply shrugs, a shrill laugh tumbling out of her mouth, and says, “she’s not anyone too important.” they laugh and leave you two alone.
you swallow back your retort, but her eyes soften as she finally takes you in. “sorry about that, y’know how it is.”
the desire to tell her that you actually don’t know how it is almost has you voice that very opinion—but you learned quite a bit from your father; bide your time, wait for the opportune moment, and then strike.
she offers for you to travel with her, the thought of taking you under her wing grows stronger; she knows how much it’ll piss akainu off, and you’re inclined to indulge her. and by the time law does actually turn back around, frantic to find you and make you explain yourself all over again, you’re gone. the people from the island describe the ship that was seen only a week prior, and his heart drops.
little does he know, you’re on a quest to find him too—to make things right, to try again with him. your story isn’t a heartfelt fairytale, but there’s a possibility of redemption and a glimpse of happiness in the end.
#fic request#it's finally done; i actually like this one so thank u anon#trafalgar law#one piece imagine#one piece x reader#one piece x y/n#trafalgar law x y/n#law x reader#law x y/n#law is so dramatic but sometimes he's right#‘i can change him’ 🥴#can u tell how much i h8 akainu? but he's such a compelling character

Chapter One
There must be something there that wasn’t there before.
‘It felt like she was dreaming.
For the last eight years she’d been living in sheer hell. Hope was a foreign concept when hers had been gunned down right in front of her eyes. At ten years old she was forced to grow up and take on the role of protector that Bellemere had previously played. Freedom became a legend she could no longer afford believe in.
Still, Arlong would offer it to her; keeping it just barely out of her reach so she’d obey his every order. If she drew enough charts, if she saved enough money -she could save her village. There was only a slim chance that she’d be successful and it would take a long time - but she didn’t care. She would do it. She had to, or else her mother would have died for nothing.
Her future looked bleak, with only the tiniest pinprick of light shone at the end of the tunnel. Then... A teenager with devil fruit powers quite literally fell into her life bringing with him an explosion as bright as the birth of a star and suddenly - she was free. For the first time ever, somebody had showed up to defend her; to slay the monsters she never could.’
Nami sighed quietly, leaning one of her shoulders against the alley wall, observing the party her villagers had thrown to celebrate. The last time they’d felt joy like this she had only been as tall as Genzo’s knee, and their family was still whole. It felt indescribably wonderful to know that she would never have to worry about her home again. The Arlong pirates had been defeated and the prison she lived in destroyed. ‘She was safe now.’
Her gaze swept along the crowded street from face to smiling face until they landed on Luffy.
‘Luffy.’
Her heart surged into her throat like it did when she thought about Bellemere. How could she ever hope to express to him how grateful she was for what he did? ‘He would probably say, just buy me lots of meat.’
Nami’s lips quirked into half a grin. Luffy was so noble, and brave - and yet at the same time he was the goofiest human being she’d ever met. He made her smile. He’d protected her when she thought that the only person capable of that had been killed a long time ago. She didn’t have to fight alone; she’d never have to fight alone again so long as she had her friends.
‘Her friends… She had friends now.’
The navigator searched for them. She spotted Usopp standing on top of one of the tables near Luffy with his hands on his hips. He seemed to be spinning one of his less than truthful tales to entertain anyone who would listen.
She found Sanji a little way further doting on Nojiko who looked amused. Her head shook side to side but she was grinning to herself.‘So typical of them.’
Continuing her search, as there was one more crew member that she hadn’t seen since the battle, she frowned when she couldn’t find Zoro. ‘Maybe he was still being treated… He had been injured pretty horribly before he even got to Cocoyashi-“
Nami winced when the memory of her socking him in the gut and stomping on his chest flashed through her head. The look on his face, and his labored coughing as he doubled over... He must have been in an unimaginable amount of pain. ‘But that hadn’t stopped him from fighting with every last ounce of his strength to save them. To save her.’
She should apologize…
The navigator went to snag a bottle of sake from one of the tables laden with food and drink, then made her way towards Dr. Nako’s infirmary. The doctor probably didn’t want him drinking but it would make the swordsman happy – and she loved to see him smile.
***
Zoro was resting his eyes when he heard the clinic door open, but paid it no mind since he assumed the old man had come back to check on him. He listened to the footsteps as they crossed the room, but they were a lot lighter than the doctors. Click-clack, click clack, click clack.
‘They sort of sounded like heeled sandals.‘
“Zoro? Are you awake?”
‘Oh. It was Nami.’
His stomach did a little backflip, and his heart thundered just a bit faster. But he couldn’t let her know the effect she had on him or else she’d use him like that stupid cook. He pretended to be sleeping deeply but she didn’t leave. ‘Maybe he should say something mean to make her go away-‘
“I brought you a present.”
Now he was interested. Zoro cracked one eye open to see what she had for him and then grinned stupidly. “Sake!”
“I knew you were faking it,” she wrinkled her nose, lowering herself beside him on the mattress as he sat up to take the bottle from her. Almost instantaneously he cracked it open and gulped a couple mouthfuls down. “Jeez, would you have acknowledged me if I hadn’t brought you booze? You damn alcoholic.”
He narrowed his eyes at her because she better not have only come here to pick a fight with him – sake or not. “Don’t you try and guilt trip me, woman- hey!” Zoro yelped when Nami pinched his cheek, though it didn’t really hurt. He grabbed her hand and yanked it away from his face. ‘Knock it off.”
“I was only teasing you, dummy.” Her eyes shifted to his bare chest and traced their way down the length of the freshly stitched wound that crossed his entire torso. She still couldn’t believe he’d fought so valiantly in this condition. Sometimes the intensity of his ambition and determination were almost frightening.
“Do I need to put a shirt on, Nami? You look like you’re getting distracted.”
The smirk that dressed his face was so arrogant that she wanted to pinch him again but when she went to move her hand – he was still holding onto it, ‘Why did that make her feel like there were butterflies fluttering around inside of her?’ Nami turned her head to the other side as her face flushed with heat, hoping some of her hair would hide it.
Zoro gave her a quizzical look before he noticed his grip on her fingers. ‘Oh, shit. He was such a fucking idiot.’ Clearing his throat and bringing the bottle to his lips, Zoro let go of them hastily. ‘Just pretend it didn’t happen,’
“So… Why’d you come all the way over here to give me this, anyway?” He asked to change the subject, leaning towards the side table and setting the sake onto it.
Nami clasped her hands together in her lap, not yet turning her head because it felt like her face was getting hotter. “Well… Um. Actually…” she peeked at him, and he had one eyebrow cocked, “I came to say I’m sorry.”
“…..Sorry for what?”
‘Was he being serious?’ Nami finally looked at him and his expression was still stumped. “For punching you! And…” Her head bowed in shame, shoulders rounding as she went on, “And stomping on you, while you had an injury like this,” a deep frown began to settle into her mouth and forehead, “I should have known better, I should have guessed that you were injured pretty badly-”
“Nami.”
“-you were covered in bandages, after all, but I was so worried that they’d kill you if they thought we were friends-“
“Nami.”
“-so I hurt you to make it seem like I didn’t care about you, but I shouldn’t have hit you so hard, maybe if I’d been gentler you wouldn’t have been in so much pain-“
“Nami.” Zoro cut her off firmly and grabbed her shoulders, shaking her in a delicate manner and pulling her towards him. She finally lifted her head back up and looked him in the eyes, but hers were welled with tears that she was trying desperately not to shed. A sharp pang stabbed all the way through his heart. ‘Was she really crying because she felt so bad about hurting him? Did… She care about him that much?’
“It’s fine,” he murmured, sliding his hands down to her triceps and squeezing them tenderly as if to reassure her, “I’m fine, okay?”
Nami didn’t believe him for one second, but she didn’t have the energy to argue. Especially not when he was gazing at her with so much genuine concern written into his brow line. It surprised her. ‘Did he care about her so much that he was lying about the pain to ease her guilt?’
A tidal wave of intense affection crashed over her entire being. “Oh, Zoro-“ she cried out and tossed both of her arms around his neck, hugging him as tightly as she possibly could. Her chin found a perch on his shoulder. Tears squeezed out of her blinking eyes to clear her vision and dripped down her cheeks onto his skin.
Zoro sat there, frozen, having not at all expected her to do something like this. When she didn’t let go of him - he curved his arms around her waist, pressing one of his palms against her upper back. His head bowed slightly. and he leaned the side of his face on her hair, eyelids slipping closed. He wasn’t very good at comforting people with words, but he knew how to be a warm shoulder to cry on thanks to Luffy and his occasional night terrors.
For a few minutes no one said anything… They just held each other. Until Nami whispered something in a voice so quiet that he almost didn’t hear her. Almost.
“You’re my hero.”
His heart started to beat unevenly and his stomach did a double backflip. ‘Why was he so nervous all of a sudden?’
“…Nami,” she started to pull away from him but stayed close enough to rest her elbows on his trapezius muscles. His fingers splayed between her shoulder blades and pressed into her shirt. For some reason his voice rumbled like thunder when he spoke, “I’m not a hero...”
“You are to me.”
“……” The way she was looking at him stirred up far too many feelings for him to account for. Zoro’s gaze flickered down to her mouth then back to her eyes. ‘She was such a beautiful person. Not just her face, but the content of her character. Her soul. Kuina had been beautiful like that, too.’
Even though he knew he probably should, he didn’t want to let go of her. A burning flood of passion captivated him with the urge to kiss her. ‘Wait - kiss her?’ His heart jumped into his throat. ‘What?? Had he turned into the damn cook?!’
She was sitting so close to him, closer than she’d ever been in the past. He could count each of her freckles and draw constellations on them. If he tilted his head down, they’d knock foreheads. And she smelled so sweet… ‘Like freshly peeled tangerines.’
Nami watched his expression shifting steadily from one emotion to the next. ‘What was he thinking? Why hadn’t he pushed her away yet?’ Not that she wanted him to. Quite the opposite, actually. Her gaze darted to his lips when he wet them, then moved back up to find his eyes half-lidded. He unconsciously bumped the end of his nose against hers.
“Nami, I…”
Was... He going to kiss her?
“I..”
It certainly seemed like he wanted to. ‘Did she want him to?’ Nami shivered but not because she was cold. She’d never thought about kissing Zoro prior to this moment but now that she was… ‘She kind of wanted to kiss him, too. She kind of wanted to kiss him a lot.’ All he had to do was lift his chin a few more centimeters.
He closed his eyes and started to, slowly...
WHAM! The clinic doors burst open followed by a shouting voice they both recognized.
“ZOOOOOOOROOOOOOO!”
Nami shoved herself off of her crew mate and the mattress at the same time that he practically ripped his arms from her torso. She took a step back just as their captain came bounding in holding a large plate piled with food.
“Oh hi Nami, why’re you here?” Luffy noticed her standing somewhat awkwardly beside the bed but his gaze shifted to Zoro and he forgot all about it. “Oh yeah, look Zoro!” He beamed at his first mate, scrunching both of his eyes closed and holding the plate up, “I brought you meat.”
The navigator chose this moment to slip away. Her heart was beating so fast that it felt like a hummingbird was trapped in her rib cage. ‘What had just happened! Well - what had just nearly happened?! Were they about to kiss?? If Luffy hadn’t run in, would Zoro have kissed her?!’ It had happened so slowly yet so quickly at the same time.
‘But they were just friends… Right?’
Question after question danced through her head until she shook it violently to clear it. She told herself that it must have been the sake that made Zoro act the way he did, because they were just friends. If he had another chance to kiss her she was certain he wouldn’t take it.
‘And yet… A small part of her wanted to give it to him anyway.’
***
Zoro had trouble settling down after Luffy left him to find more food(he’d eaten almost everything that he originally brought for his first mate.) He just... Couldn’t stop thinking about Nami - about what he’d almost done. ‘What the fuck had come over him? He’d never wanted to kiss her before tonight, so where the hell did he even get that idea from?’
“I’m drunk,” the swordsman said out loud to the empty building, like he was trying to convince himself, even though he knew it took at least two bottles to get him tipsy – and he’d barely drunk half of the first one. “I’m drunk,” he repeated, glaring at the foot of his bed where Luffy had left the mostly empty plate. All that was left were a few tangerines.
‘He and Nami were friends.’
Zoro picked one up and held it in front of him, expression unreadable.
‘What had happened tonight was a fluke, and there was no way it would ever happen again.’
With only a few rays of moonlight seeping through the curtains above his head, he could just make out the normally much brighter orange sheen of the fruit’s skin.
‘They were just friends. But… Was that all he honestly wanted them to be?’

Part 24: Anniversary
- "Come to Buu!" Moria cheered. - "No Mamma!" Hancock clapped her hands. - "You gotta choose, Pappa." Shanks shouted from the side.
Mihawk sighed loudly.
They stood in a row just waiting for Perona release Zoro. She had come up with the idea while they waited for the rest of the people to show up to their little gathering on a beach she had gone a lot to with her husband. Mihawk had thought it was a stupid idea, have a competition like this of who was Zoros favourite grandparent. It was demeaning to call him like a dog so he took no part other than stand there. Everyone else had gotten excited by the idea. They had actually bet on who was the favourite. Most money went onto Mihawk since he spend the most time with him, but Moria was a close second.
- "Ok, Zoro. Just go to your favourite grandparent." Perona softly whispered to him and released her hold of him. Zoro toppled forward and looked at the cheering adults. Then he started to walk. Morias and Hancocks cheers got even louder whilst Mihawk rolled his eyes. Zoro walked and then he turned and walked away from all of them. Everyone held their breath. He walked a bit forward and then stopped. He looked around confused.
- "Where are you going idiot?" Ace ran to Zoro and turned him around to face the adults again.
But Zoros pride had gotten hit and he sniveled. He ran straight back to Perona and hugged her. Everyone pretty much laughed. Zoro had inherited his bad sense of directions from his father.
- "Zoro just got distracted. He's got a lot on his mind." Perona hissed protectively. - "Did anyone bet on Perona because she is clearly the winner here." Shanks laughed loudly.
Everyone shook their heads and Shanks laughed even louder.
- "Just me then. Okay, pay up."
Mihawk glared at Shanks. Even if the thing had been stupid he should have bet on him.
- "Sorry, Hawky. Nothing personal."
Muttering people paid up. Hancocks sisters drove to the parking lot. They had picked up Chiffon, Lola and Absalom. Absa rushed out of the car as quickly as he could, followed by Lola. She would have chased him around, but was stopped by Chiffon, who just shook her head. The two Boas were visibly bothered by the car trip. Another car drove up. From the passenger side stood up Cindry. She rushed off to hug Perona who had let Mihawk take Zoro from her. It had been awhile since the last time they had seen each other. Her acting career was sky rocketing at the moment so she was very busy most of the time. From the drivers side stood Law which surprised Perona.
- "Oh, you know Law?" She wondered outloud. - "Yes, but we're just friends. I was gobsmacked when he told me you two had gotten into contact." She looked at Perona and petted her hair slightly. "Are you jealous?" - "Of who?" Perona looked at her in a bit of disbelief. - "I came here with a dashing male and you wont even lift a brow." She smirked. "Quite cold." - "Well I came here with a dashing male as well." Perona tilted her head towards Mihawk. - "Perona, I didn't know you were into dilfs." Cindry gasped dramatically. Perona laughed and shook her head.
- "Seems like everyone is here. Let's head to wards the beach." Hancock announced excited. - "Is that the Empress?" Cindrys eyes glittered and she headed towards Hancock.
- "Hey." Law came to Perona. - "So you and Cindry are friends?" - "Sort of." He smirked. "She didn't seem too excited of our relationship." - "There is no relationship, stupid." - "Oh we aren't friends?" He was amused. - "I didn't mean it like that." Perona snarled and blushed slightly.
Law patted her head and started to go down to the beach with the others. Absa came to Perona quickly.
- "Why is he here?" - "We are friends. I've been messaging him this spring." - "I don't really like him." - "Because he is not a womanizer like you?" - "Ouch. But he definitely is one. He's just sneaky about it." His face went a little disgusted. "Not very sure if he's even trying to hide it." - "Well good thing I'm not planning on a romantic relationship with him." Perona huffed. "He's ok if you get to know him, just has a little bit of a jerkish side to him." - "Jerkish is mildly putting it."
- "C'mon you two! Don't keep us waiting." Lola shouted loudly.
- "In a bit!" Perona shouted to her, before looking back at him. "You need to turn her down properly." - "I've tried." he groaned. - "Not in a joking banter way. Proper sit down way." - "Yeah, I'll try." he sighed and started to moved down to the beach.
Perona looked the scenery over and sighed. - "Is there a beach like this where you're at?" She wondered in her head as she trekked down
----
They were sitting at a small wooden dock with their feet in the water. The tadpoles nibbled their toes. There was a gap between them, large enough for a person to sit between them with ease and maybe a little space to spare. Anxiously he kicked the water and looked at her coyly.
- "I- Can I hold your hand?"
She looked at him wondering. Any other guy she had dated had never asked permission for such a thing. But he was shy and kind.
- "Why?" She teased him. - "I don't know- Or I do but- Aargh!" He blushed and covered his eyes with his hands. "I've been thinking all day how pretty your hands are."
She blushed slightly. He couldn't even look at her. What a cute and sweet boy.
- "Never mind. I don't think I'd be able to. You're too much for me. Gotta built up my resistance." He looked far into the ocean.
He set his hands on his side. What she could see of his face, was deep red in color. She slowly inched closer to him. He was shaking. He knew she was moving closer, but didn't turn or say anything. She took his hand into hers and he started shaking uncontrollably. He curled into himself. His face was even deeper red.
- "Horo horo horo! You're so cute." He looked at her in agony. - "You're the cutest!"
She too blushed and looked away. It must have looked silly to a passerby. Two people barely holding hands and dying out of embarrassment.
He was the kind of guy she never imagined she would fall in love with.
----
That day was a bit cold and she stood on the same dock as they had been years earlier. She had wished for a finer weather, but you couldn't choose it in advance. At least it wasn't raining or awfully windy. Maybe it might get warmer as the day progressed. Mihawk walked to her only wearing a white dress shirt and long dark pants. She had to wear a cardigan over her shirt not to feel cold.
- "What are you doing here by yourself?" - "Just reminiscing the first date." - "What did you do here?" He looked down at the murky waves thrashing against the poles of the small dock. - "Just sat and talked. You know he was awfully shy back then. Couldn't even hold my hand properly." - "Sounds like him." Mihawk hummed.
They stood there on the dock and for a moment it all was serene and calm.
- "The others have set the things already. They're wondering where you are." - "It's a bit... suffocating." She sighed "To be there surrounded by so many people... Dunno. Maybe I'm just being sensitive today."
Perona started to swallow tears. The idea had been so good, but right now it felt weird. Weird to be happy and talk of all the memories of her husband. After all it was the day he had died a year back.
Mihawk pulled a tissue from his pocket and offered it to Perona. Grateful she took it and blew her nose. At least Mihawk knew how she felt and even if he didn't, he was there and that mattered the most.
- "Please." She whimpered and moved towards him, lifting her hands as a sign for him.
He met her halfway and closed his arms around her. She grabbed onto his shirt and sniveled. Heavy tears fell onto his shirt as she pressed her cheek against his chest.
- "Let's go back to the others. I don't think he would have liked us to wallow in grief like this." - "He probably wouldn't have." Perona snorted squeezing against him. - "No, he would have." he let out a short bitter laughter. "I've told you how much he was like Hancock. He would have died of a broken heart."
Perona separated from Mihawk and looked at him. How could he say such things?
- "He was stronger and better than me." - "Well he was better than you in many ways, but..." Mihawk slightly brushed her cheek. "He could have never been as strong as you have been. Such mental strength doesn't run in the family. I hope Zoro got some of that strength from you." - "But I've been leaning onto you all this time. You've lend me your strength." she insisted.
Mihawk shook his head. He had quickly found it to be quite the opposite. He lend strength from Perona more than he wanted to admit. He turned and started to walk away.
- "Let's head back."
She rushed to his side and took a hold of his hand, but he shook it off. Perona pouted unhappily.
- "Just today. Please, Mihawk." - "I don't want people to make false assumptions of our relationship." Especially one certain red head." he scoffed. - "So mean." Perona huffed and tried to grab onto his hand again. - "I'm not your personal comfort pillow." he grunted, "Didn't you invite that Law-guy here for that?"
Mihawk hadn't meant to say it. It just slipped. He didn't understand why he felt so angry and jealous thinking about that man. When Perona had said they should invite Law too, the surge of pure hatred, that filled his heart, was unreal. He didn't know this man enough for such hatred to be righteous, though he could remember what Absalom had said of him of him during Christmas and it had been concerning.
- "I've told you there's nothing going on between us." she frowned at him. - "Sorry, I'm just worried that's all." - "Ugh, don't be. I can handle myself."
She took a couple of skips to make some distance and went to talk to other people, some of her husbands friends were there too, which was nice considering how they hadn't really been in touch the past year aside from the funeral. Law was the only one, so Mihawks reaction just angered her more. Stupid old man, she can handle herself just fine. Didn't need him sticking his nose to everything.
Zoro rushed to Perona and demanded to be picked up. The amount of people was starting to tire him and Buu or Mamma were not as good as Mommy. Perona lifted him up and sat down at the table. Law came to her.
- "You want something to drink?" he asked politely. - "Oh yes, please." she sighed still bit annoyed by Mihawks antics.
Law quickly returned with two beers.
- "Aren't you driving?" - "I won't tell, if you won't" he held a finger to his lips. - "Please don't. You know how I feel about alcohol these days." She chastised him. - "It's because of him, isn't it?" Law nodded towards Mihawk who was drinking some juice as he talked to Shanks. Shanks had volunteered to take pictures and was showing his equipment to him. - "Or maybe it's because of you." Perona rolled her eyes. - "Fair point. Alright I go take these back. Would you rather have some juice then?" - "Yes, please. Oh and some for Zoro too."
Law quickly returned with some juice. Dragon was busy barbecuing and soon there would be some real food.
- "You seem close to him." Law remarked as he handed her her juice. - "Well Zoro is my wonderful little bean." she looked at the child on her lap and smiled. She did not want to take part in what Law was insinuating. - "No, your father-in-law." he kept going. - "Today is some sort of weird jealousy day, instead of a day to commemorate my husband." she groaned and threw him a glare. - "Hmm? I'm not jealous. It just seems weird." - "Nothing weird about us being friends." - "Does he know that? I saw how he hugged you back there at the dock." He cringed. "I was coming to get you and saw that." - "Can we talk of something else?" She looked back down at Zoro. "All these people rather talk about relationships than your daddy and it's quite tiring." she kissed the top of his head. - "Daddy?" Zoro looked at her confused. - "Umm here." She picked her phone and showed a picture of him and his father. "That's you and that's daddy."
Zoro fumbled a bit with the phone, carefully looking at the picture. But as he did, he accidentally swiped the picture away. Zoro didn't really understand why it made him feel so distressed and he started to sniffle.
- "Oh no, Zoro. Please don't cry." she tried to calm him.
Law sighed and picked up Peronas phone and put the picture back.
- "There's your dad. He went nowhere."
Zoro calmed down and looked at the picture again. Looking at the man made him feel happier, but he just didn't remember ever meeting this person called Daddy. Maybe he would meet him someday. Mommy at least liked him a lot.
----
Soon the food was served and everyone started to converse as a group. They listened to stories, cried and laughed remembering this person who had touched all of their lives, even if by little. Once they were done and it was starting to become a bit darker, they decided to go to the grave yard. Most people had brought something to the grave and it looked similar to the way it had been during funeral. Perona felt like crying. Mihawk was beside her holding Zoro and she tried reaching for his hand, but before he could react, it was Law who grabbed and squeezed her other hand. She looked at him confused, but then smiled. She whispered a small thank you and looked back at the grave. Mihawk felt like his heart had suddenly been eaten by a black hole. He shouldn't be so jealous, why was he like this?
They bid everyone a farewell and everyone left as they had gotten there. Mihawk and Perona were the last ones to leave.
- "This day was really good after all." She sighed. "My heart feels somewhat lighter."
Mihawk hummed in agreement.
- "You know it's nearly been a year you two started to live with me." - "It's been good even though the circumstances were not." Perona smiled a little bit. "I don't think we should hold a party for that."
Mihawk smiled and he took hold of her hand as a sign of solidarity. It felt so warm and good to hold it, but she shook herself off way too soon for his liking.
- "I'm tired. Let's go home."

omu! how about a one piece galavant au?? as in op charas in a galavant setting
So basically this Galavant AU (for those who don’t know: a medieval musical AU you should totally check) is just Luffy acting like in canon, walking his way downtown and taking along anyone he wants to befriend. Luffy’s songs are about adventures, friends and foods.
Meeting Zoro
As a kid, Luffy heard about thelegend of the Graal so he’s definitely looking for it no matter what people sayabout it. He used to live in a farm but said fuck responsibilities andexpectations and left to travel, became an adventurer and pirate along the way, created so much chaos right away he met Zoro who’s like a local policeman or piratehunter or whatever but Luffy’s just so incredible he manages to defeat him(probably sang something horribly and Zoro passed out) (just kidding) (or amI?) and welp this job was boring anyways. Somehow with Zoro they both end upcrossing like 4 or 5 countries within a week cause that’s how lost they are. Zoro’s songs are about training, finding his way back to wherever he wanted to go, and swords.
Meeting Nami & Usopp
Then they meet Nami who randomlysteals Zoro and Luffy’s goods, something Luffy doesn’t really care about causeit wasn’t food, however Zoro is completely infuriated cause she took his swordsso he’s losing his shit and chases her to get those back. As they’re lookingfor her, they meet Usopp, a merchant who is actually secretly in business withNami cause they get along pretty well even though when it comes to money Namiis never to be trusted. Nami’s songs are about money, profit, and her daily life.
Usopp tries to sell them shitty things that Luffy absolutelywants to buy but since they’re broke can’t so now he has a real reason to bemotivated. Usopp’s songs are about obviously fake stories, and incredible adventures. Usopp follows them and they find Nami flirting with a blondstupid-looking guy who’s all about her. Clearly she’s just here to steal fromhim, but she does not have to cause the idiot already gave her everything. Eventhough she appreciates, she tries to get rid of him because the guy is damnannoying, and as she tries to lose him in the crowd, faces Zoro again.
Oops.
Meeting Sanji
Zoro gets angry and asks her toreturn his swords, but Sanji intervenes and fights him. Luffy yells in hunger(yes hunger, not anger) and Nami takes advantage of this chaos to pretend she’sworking for Usopp and puts the blame on him. Usopp panics and denies – cause it’strue they only are partners if anything – though they actually find the swordsin his things – because Nami’s that good. The issue is settled by a dinner andLuffy telling them to follow him cause Usopp’s stories are terrific – and hesings pretty well – and Nami’s joining cause she sees the profit she could makeout of this association – plus, the Graal is interesting and Luffy is definitelynot anyone so might as well follow the guy. Since Nami joined Sanji’s decision isquickly taken – though that’s actually not the only reason, for he feels veryat ease with them and actually talked to as an equal, no better nor lesser thanthem.
About Sanji: he is a prince who’stried to run away from his family a hundred times and is known as “the dramaprince” so basically all his songs are about how his family is shitty etc. ThisAU gets this family as still an abusive one though they are not violent with him– he’s still rejected and made fun of. Reiju is still secretly nice to him andhelped him run away, so that’s how they meet Sanji as he is on his last escape. Sanji’s songs are about his loneliness, the beauty of women, his feelings for his family and cooking.
Meeting Robin & Vivi
Robin is a sort of spy fromanother country who knows very well who Sanji is and recognised him right away,so she comes to talk and stay with them cause she could gather interesting informationto share, and maybe even get into the castle easily. She’s right in a way, because later on, thanks to the reputation they’re making along the way, theymeet a princess called Vivi who’s been looking for them to help free hercountry from the invasion that is currently happening. Sanji, whom everyone expectedto support her right away, does not react, and this is Nami answering cause royalty= money. Also that girl does look kinda cute. Sanji avoids Vivi a bit becausethey actually met each other in their childhood during royal meetings – he’snot sure she could remember him because he did not appear a lot in public or inthose kinds of events but he does not want to risk it. Vivi totally recognizedhim but says nothing – so, along with Robin, they’re the only ones to know. Robin’s songs are about her secrete identity, her mysterious life - probably saying things like “oh if they knew” but actually not saying anything about what’s to be known so the viewer is as confused cause nothing to be learnt - and her dark humour. Vivi’s songs are about her despair and support for her family and kingdom, her gratefulness and her relationship with the Straw Hats.
Meeting Franky & Chopper
They agree to come and help herthough her country is not next door, so they look for an actual boat orsomething to get there as fast as possible, hence how they meet Franky. Franky’s songs are about new inventions and his work on the boat, and how he’s finally getting away from this country.
Ontheir way to Vivi’s country, they hear about a beast who is guarding somethingin the mountains so Luffy does not hesitate and runs to get the Graal, when itwas actually just Chopper trying to live his life and slowly turning into some kindof Grinch. Luffy finds him amusing and he joins them just like that – this mountainwas annoying anyways and he was tired of singing his solos to the wind. Chopper’s songs are about loneliness, friendship and support.
BONUS: Ace & Sabo
Ace and Sabo are in this universetoo, Luffy meets Ace in Vivi’s country like in canon (imagine the brotp song please)and Sabo is actually working in Sanji’s country in the resistance cause half ofthe country can’t bear the Vinsmoke’s tyranny and plots against them. Sabo ismuch more politically involved than Ace and Luffy – his brothers like in canon, though he only met them in a trip to one of his houses with his noble family. He remained there a few months and then had to leave again with his family, butran away and definitely stayed with Ace and Luffy for a while before he leftagain to work against noble tyranny. Ace just travels to find himself becauseeven though Gol D Roger does not exist he’s still an orphan in this AU and kindabecame a pirate when he left. Ace’s songs are completely chaotic and Sabo’s songs are revolutionaries.
