#trigun stampede#trigun#meryl stryfe#nicholas d wolfwood#vash the stampede#i cant even elaborate on this episode bc ive spent all day Thinking about it yesterday#and it made me Miserable#i just want to see vash have some autonomy again...#he is a little bit more on the quieter end for stampede as less angry about things but i dont think he's more of a coward in stampede#even though he was transported into his memories and saw and heard those terrible things from the kids and wolfwood#he was able to gather himself and keep going#his resilience has always been the strongest and also saddest thing about him#so it killed me irreversibly when he lost the one person who he could always look back to reliably#the fact knives couldnt even alter anything in rem's dialogue within those memories just stands for how strong her place is in vash's memory#and potentially knives just knows that would be too ooc of her to make in any Universe if she had something horrible.#man. I TALKED ABOUT THIS IN LIKE ALL 3 PLATFORMS. yes the possibility of qtubbo having been snatched away in the blink of an eye today to be sent to purgatory with no warning is fucking depressing. but do you know what could be worse?
qtubbo logging back onto the island, shaken and sick from radiation exposure, but everyone celebrates that he's alive and escaped capture.
only for him to tell them that its because he doesnt know when theyll take him. he's a dead man walking, a ticking time bomb. he has agreed to something and has no idea when theyll come to take him to purgatory. no idea what lies in wait for him.
and he spends the next few days trying to distract himself, while also getting his affairs in order. its sad, but no one talks about it. how he's walking around with a foot in hell, waiting to be dragged back in, with no warning.
and one day, q!fit and q!pac wake up, and they see sunny come to them, alone. and they just know what has happened.
the rain doesnt stop for the next 5 days.

how alien kä and erika moved around in the mv was such a good choice by the director or whoever was responsible for it, aside from just making it more interesting to watch in general i feel like it really made a point of how different/wrong those kind of hateful words probably make them feel
comments like that are dehumanising
just makes me think about the article where jere spoke about wanting to "encourage people to be what they are" and how he wants to make "a safe space" for anyone no matter gender or body shape – they know what it's like to feel outcast and weird – they want to let people know it's okay

what a miserable day.
reminding myself the world is not fundamentally changed. we have elected our own downfall, but there are birds outside, and my little niece is learning to walk, and I need to go grocery shopping.
(people had fulfilling lives during the fall of the roman empire. I'm reading books from the 1930's, the last time fascism almost consumed us. I am reminding myself of the people of the world right now living under unjust regimes. I am looking to minorities in america, past and present, for tips on thriving with a boot on your neck. I am reaching out to the half of the country who is mourning with me today, reminding myself there is good, there are helpers, we are still here.)
in the future there will be protests, bad news, fights (jesus christ, thanksgiving is still ahead). for now I am just trying to remember how to live. in 2016 I completely shut down and retreated from everyone. I allowed myself to be tricked into thinking I was alone. I don't want to do that again. (I don't want to do any of this again.)
this is how you live through tragedies - any way you can.

#copying the tags bc it is very much a tag rant#bros. truly it has been nothing but a wonderful time here#perhaps even the most enjoyable time i have ever had in a fandom despite being here for like 3 months tops#(bc i'm actually posting stuff and interacting with people for once but i digress)#but i cannot deny. being part of a smaller quieter fandom after coming from some of the larger ones on here has me scratching at the walls#guy on the left was me in september where everything was new to me and i had all this wonderful fanwork to go through. autism heaven#guy on the right. me rn. please do not ask me how many times i have refreshed the tags on both here and ao3. it's ungodly#has me doing things like (on top of actually interacting with people) rereading fics. long ones. which i have done before. twice?#out of many years of reading#i've hunted down nice long fics older than me (also never done before) (because none of my other fandoms are older than me but still)#[edit nvm i remembered there was exactly one fandom i've dipped my toes in that is also older than me so ive definitely read some fics#from there that were Aged. didnt hunt those down tho it just happened. edit over]#but i've put off reading them bc like. what if they don't get them like we do yknow. what if they write something and it's Wrong#perhaps a terrible thing to think of them because what i can tell their writing is very high quality but still..#every day i consider rereading welcome to the panopticon on ao3 and one day the demons will take over and i will be reading all 88k words#once more. among other fics#congrats to these guys they truly have consumed me and i fear it is terminal#kit yap session
