Rose isn’t her real name. Will I say what her real name is? In a couple chapters.

She was 29 during her death in Chapter 3, the same age Sienna was in Chapter 2.

Speaking of Sienna, Rose was also very much a religious person, even aside from her last thoughts being in prayer. A concept that we’ll get to is that during her time at that facility she’d help organize the most notable religious ceremonies and holidays for the faunus. Although close to the time of her death, Rose would cease any of that altogether.

In comparison to Adam her horns are massive.

She and [unnamed husband] formerly lived on Menagerie. And she likely has some relatives still living there too. Cough. Cough.

Big announcement time!

A lot has happened and even more is about to so I’m here to catch everyone up and announce something new!

To start: Over a month ago I held the first play test in the server with Nines, Slime, Chime, and Talai. It went really well! So here’s a rough overview of what happened:

Team Twoshot was tasked with finding a missing Volbeat and disabling a minor dungeon, named the Symphonic Glen, which used to be a stage for Pokémon to share their music with each other. Loudred, with his posse of 4 Whismur, took over the stage and pokénapped the Volbeat to use as a personal spotlight with her Tailglow, which gave him a +3 to Insight making his Echoed Voice even more dangerous. Plus each Whismur had a specialty punch move; Ice, Fire, Thunder, and Mega punch. It was a tough fight but Team Twoshot managed to bring the crew down and save the Volbeat, reuniting her with her lovely partner Illumise.

Nines played Heathcliff, a scarred male Gyarados with a purple scarf, well-worn but also well-cared for. Very much willing to let loose, but surprisingly careful about his allies. Particularly the ladies.

Talai played Slasher, a female Sneasel with some piercings. She has a rough exterior and personality who secretly has a soft side.

Slime played Demeter, a somewhat dainty and matronly Roserade with a penchant for drinking tea, and a distaste for unnecessary fighting. Has unique colored roses, one red and the other purple.

Chime played Tealight, a small but fearless Litwick. He's friendly if a bit creepy, and prone to jumping straight into battle for his teammates. Totally consumed with inflicting status effects.

We found a lot of things that needed clarification thanks to the playtest, such as:

Travel Points now allow you to move up to 2 tiles per point.

Which kinds of effects still apply on partial hits, most notably Lifedrain.

Fainting has been entirely reworked, which will be addressed at a later time.

General Movement, such as you can't move diagonally through 2 hostile Pokémon.

Lots of changes to Roleplay Actions, including a new feature called the Stamina Bar.

And a lot more that we've been working on!

In other news, we've finished our Explorers of Sky playthrough and have started Gates to Infinity! Team Soy Bois, led by Boi the Riolu and Wattson the Shinx, managed to save the world (with a single punch!) and now it's time for a team; Team Gorls, staring Fraisey the Axew and Brittany B the Snivy. I've actually never played Gates (no spoilers if you join us!) so I'm excited to see what happens. We stream most every Saturday at 6pm est and we voice the characters! Anyone is welcome to join and, if you're interested, you'll have a chance to voice a character too!

Another event that is just starting is Talai's Friendlocke! We will be playing through Pokémon Insurgent as a nuzlocke where each person participating roleplays as a member of the team, choosing moves in battle and strategizing together. Can these mons parent their kidnapped orphan trainer? Join us and find out!

So, what's next? Well, simply put, more playtests! There's still a lot of mechanics that need tested before this project is finished. This time, however, I will be taking a backseat. Instead, my co-creators Nines and Slime will be DMing, each testing different parameters with very different dungeon layouts, difficulties, and more. I will still be involved, just this time I will be observing the sessions and taking notes on anything that needs worked on. Below are brief descriptions of each DMs planned playtest:

Nines' Playtest:

The Coral Cape stars a ragtag group recruited by the Cutthroats, a roving pirate band. You're tasked with scouting out the titular dungeon, reporting back with any objects of interest, and - most importantly - looting anything you can get your hands on!

This playtest places low-level characters against a variety of situations,  primarily combat as well as some social scenarios.

Slime's Playtest:

Deep within the Iron-Soul Mausoleum, something has stirred, causing Steel, Rock, and Ground type Pokémon to become rowdy and dangerous. Several Explorer teams have ventured into the ancient crumbling ruin, but none have successfully cracked the puzzle and made their way into the central chamber.

This Playtest is testing the upper levels of character creation, dungeon based weather effects, as well as the maximum size of Dungeon layout.

Once the Alpha playtests are over we will be going over the entire system and reworking/finalizing as much as we can before the next stage; Beta test Oneshots. There will be a series of oneshots with the goal of giving as many players a chance to play as possible. Thoughts on Castlevania S3: Taka and Sumi’s abuse of Adrian

Season three spoilers below: and yes, this is plot heavy. So if you haven’t seen yet, read at your own risk.

But the TL;DR: I love Castlevania and this scene only made me love it more.

To start: This is entirely an opinion post. I don’t have enough energy to make it into a full analysis with resources and other things. So don’t take this as an essay with some deep meaning. This is entirely just an impressions post.

I love this scene. I love the writing and the visuals. And I love that it was handled in a very real manner. And I love that it represented abuse correctly, because make no mistake-- this scene was abuse--at the very least, and rape at worst. But I’m not saying that for the reasons others have given. But I’m going to get back to that in a moment.

I’m going to leave out the controversy that’s been spat about this scene, because honestly, I don’t feel like talking about it. Like I said, I’m tired. And I’m not gonna harass someone else over their opinions just because they’re different than mine. If you didn’t like this, that’s totally fine. Please don’t ask me to debate, I’m not interested in . I’m simply enjoying this show in my own little corner, and am sharing my own opinions and observations for those who might be curious.

1.) Adrian is confirmed canonically (as far as the Netflix series goes) Bisexual.

While the events that follow the scene absolutely make this scene abuse and manipulation, at the start, Adrian does consent to the sex initially (INITIALLY, I’m not forgetting what happens after). He willingly makes out with both Sumi and Taka, and he’s very obviously anally penetrated when Taka puts Adrian’s legs over his shoulders. It’s not subtle. This is probably the smallest thing to mention given what happens, but this did make me happy. Adrian is only the second character in my favorites list to be confirmed LGBTQIA+ (the other being Damien Bloodmarch from Dream Daddy: a Dad Dating Simulator). And I won’t lie, I cried for both instances.

This is a popular show, and Adrian is one of the main characters. This season had so many good examples of LGBT+ relationships-- including a very healthy partnership between two of the female villains which was openly discussed by them on screen. It’s treated as normal but not made the focus of the story, though it’s very obvious and not hidden. This was very impressive and respectful, showing a range of different orientations, and showing both healthy and unhealthy relationships.

I won’t address the games, because I haven’t finished playing them. I’ve heard some saying he’s always been bi, some saying it was never confirmed, and some saying he was confirmed straight. So I don’t know. I am of the opinion that a character’s sexuality does not affect the overall lore any more than their skin color or religion does. BUT, that is all I can say. I don’t know the games. And this scene certainly does include lore, as I will touch on in a bit...

2.) This scene was abuse, and the writing vilifies it as such.

As I said above, Adrian does seem to initially consent to the sex. He returns their kisses, he grips onto Sumi’s ass, and holds Taka’s shoulder as they make out. These are actions that imply he was enjoying this at the beginning. Although, it is possible he may have felt somewhat pressured to go further, as when they initially push him down, he does seem taken back, although that may have been mostly surprise.

However, as the scene goes on, it becomes clear that these two are attempting to make Adrian vulnerable. They continue with him until he is exhausted-- there are two of them and one of him. And given Adrian’s reactions, it’s very possible this may have been his first time. And I’m also not going to gloss over the fact that Adrian himself has said that he aged quickly. It is entirely possible that Adrian may still mentally be a child, in which case, this is also two young adults taking advantage of a younger teenager.

However, when this clearly becomes abuse and possibly rape is why they were having sex with him in the first place-- they wanted to make him vulnerable enough to kill him. They grew impatient with Adrian, wanting him to do things he could not do and teach them things he had not yet had the chance to. He gave them all he could, but their urge to return to Japan and free their people grew into a desire to kick out and replace the authority that abused them, to “make their own empire.” I also like that this makes this very real and tangible-- the abusers are not cartoonishly evil. They are real people with real motives who experienced abuse themselves. This hits a really sensitive topic many people aren’t willing to address-- that anyone is capable of abuse, villains aren’t alien, and people who may be otherwise trustworthy may commit grievous acts which can deeply hurt people.

What solidifies the idea in my mind is Adrian’s reaction after he kills them both and frees himself. We see him, having dragged himself to his childhood bedroom, laying on the floor in the spot where he killed his father, shaking and crying. He was violated. He was betrayed. The first time he’d been living a somewhat normal life in over a year, and the only two friends he had after Sypha and Trevor left stabbed him in the back. These humans, whom he killed his father to protect, took advantage of him and almost killed him, forcing him to kill them first.

I’m going to link to this post by @fandomwanderer​ and this post by @mega-ringsandthings-world​, because the sum up the idea better than I ever could. But this sets up Adrian’s character superbly. I will say, my wish for the next season is a bit different.

I hope that, eventually, Sypha and Trevor do come back, expecting Adrian to be waiting for them with open arms. And instead they find a very cold, very detached Adrian who is not acting like himself. I want tension between these three characters who used to be friends, until it builds up and eventually leads to a clash, possibly in the form of a physical fight. I want it to escalate until something happens and causes pause enough for Sypha and Trevor to talk Adrian down, at which point we finally see him start to crack, and eventually break down in his friends arms. I want them to ask about the scars, and prod and push until he snaps and attacks them, only to lead to him revealing everything that happened and clinging to them for comfort, while they wish they could’ve been the ones to kill the bastards. I truly do hope this happens. It’s been Three Seasons. Two of them have ended with Adrian sobbing. I want him to finally get some relief. But, even with this, I’m sure whatever the writers decide to do, it will be amazing. They’re in a very precarious place right now, but I’m excited to see where they go with it.

3.) Adrian’s reaction is perfectly justified.

This may just be an extension of point two, but Sumi and Taka’s abuse is not excused by the writing. All too often in fiction, rape and abuse are written off as not being that bad or even being desirable. What happens to Adrian is not painted as positive. It affects him extremely negatively, and it is not treated as his fault in any way. Even though he initially consented, these two betrayed his trust and hurt him. That is never treated as something he should be responsible for. Granted, with this being at the end of the series, there wasn’t much time for this to digest. I expect to see some characters see how he reacted by killing and spitting them, and initially assume that he did so because “he’s Dracula's son and of course.” But these characters will likely be doing so without context. The abuse also isn’t blamed on Adrian’s apparent orientation. Hector is abused in the same way by Lenore, in a heterosexual female-on-male abuse scene. And as stated above, there are healthy LGBT+ relationships in the show, as well.

Also, as the above linked post states, this also leads to us seeing Adrian slip slowly into the mindset his father once held-- perhaps not completely, but it is beginning. And all I’m left to think is, how much must this hurt? How much must Adrian hate seeing himself this way after everything he did for humans? But he’s so hurt by this betrayal that he can’t see things any other way right now. He is in pain, and he has had no real rest from that pain since his mother was killed.

“I gave you everything.” Adrian opened his home to Sumi and Taka, and he opened his heart to them, as well. He gave them his home, his weapons, his knowledge, his body. He is very young and very trusting, despite everything he’s been through. And that trust was taken and shoved right back in his face with insult and humiliation. He gave his all, not just for Sumi and Taka, but for humanity as a whole. He killed people, he killed his own kind, and he killed his own father-- his only remaining parent-- after his own mother was killed by the very people he was trying to protect. He gave everything, and humanity took it all and then shat on him in return. Adrian has every. right to feel betrayed. I don’t think he’ll be the new villain solely because I believe they will stick a bit closer to game lore, and may rather have him simply put himself to rest until the next major disaster hits humanity. But I do think this event caused his view of humanity to be less rose-tinted. He was forced to grow up fast, and much more painfully than he should’ve.

I truly hope, more than anything else, in future seasons Adrian does get some form of relief. Though, I doubt the world is done kinking him while he’s down. Hopefully, sooner rather than later, something truly good and unbastardized will come his way. Until then, I’ll be waiting with baited breath. I couldn’t be happier that this series is continuing.

Steven Universe: Future thoughts

I’ll try to organize things by episode.  I won’t be able to rewatch them until they go up on Apple TV so this is all off the cuff.  AHOY!

1x01 Little Homeschool

Steven has White, Blue and Yellow essences in his bathroom cupboard.  Maybe keep a bottle of your own spit just to be safe?  You never know? 

Aww Cherry Quartz is cute.  Did she actually get named? I assume that’s who that is.

I had thought that shot in the trailer was going to be Pink Smoky Quartz.   I was wrong, but then we DO get Pink Smoky Quartz next episode ahhhh!

We all know Steven drew that picture of himself and the Diamonds on the brochure.  

I like to think that Steven keeps up with his drawing during quiet times, and while he isn’t technically great, most 16-year-old artists aren’t great per se.  What’s important is that he keeps doing it and he’ll keep getting better!

Little Homeschool looks awesome and I want to go make some morps with Vidalia.  Wait, were Lapis and Peridot there? I don’t remember.  They should be!

I’m so glad Jasper isn’t the big bad!!! And I love that she’s just antisocial but not actively harming anyone (beetles and grass aside).

Whoa Steven, that rage is juuuuust below the surface these days, isn’t it?  I get being annoyed at Jasper and I’m sure this isn’t the first time they’ve had this discussion but he really does just go off on her pretty damn quickly, and several times.

I am concerned that he referenced her corrupting herself.  I DON’T WANT CORRUPTED STEVEN Y’ALL, this better not be foreshadowing!!!!!

Looking forward to seeing Steven and Jasper talk again, but I really hope it’s not because Steven’s been corrupted and is trying to get over it.  Urrrgh no ;_;

I do want to see if she has tips for how to control anger.  Or how to use it and learn from it.  But I’m not sure she knows either.

Steven is a shark.  Because if he’s not swimming, he’s sinking.  And swimming to him is helping people.  If he can’t do that, if he can’t do what he’s supposed to do in his mind, what is he doing?  He’s gonna sink this season and it’s gonna be FUCKING SPECTACULAR.

1x02 Guidance

Amethyst is so proud of herself!  It’s awesome!

Steven is clearly a little uncomfortable that he didn’t come up with the idea, isn’t he?  He also has a hard time figuring out that there are ways to use what you’re made for instead of having to run from it.  Of course, that isn’t true for everyone.  Little Larimar did love screams and children more than ice.  The best lesson is that people are different, some are comfortable working in a certain zone whereas others need to struggle past it to feel complete.

Amethyst was sitting in front of the Teens of Rage video game.  I FEEL THIS WILL BE SIGNIFICANT Y’ALL.

I’m just so glad Mr. Smiley finally isn’t understaffed. He could take a day off and go visit Mr. Frowny!

Uncle Andy is back!  Yay!  And he’s getting involved with Beach City in general, I’m really happy to see him putting down some roots.

I’m really glad Greg and the Gems aren’t giving Steven shit about not wanting Rose to be looming over him in portrait form.  Now if y’all will also TALK to Steven about how he feels about it... but at least they’re okay with him removing the portrait.

So Pink damaged her Pearl, and she sent her to the Reef for repair.  They fixed her gem, but when she reformed, the trauma was still so severe that she reformed with the crack.  Oh man :(

Now again I don’t want Corrupted Steven but you could probably wrangle that into support for the theory.

I prefer to think that Steven will do something different than straight-up Corruption to himself, but we could see something like the crack form instead of Corruption.

Willing himself into a monster form only works if he thinks of himself completely as a monster.  Right now he thinks Pink is the monster, and he thinks, finally, that he isn’t Pink.  So either he’d have to really hurt somebody and then view himself as a monster, or, my preference, he would develop something like a scar or pink eyes or stay pink all the time or something until he’s figured out his issues.

Day 13 ~ Christmas 2019 Ego Fanfics

So…I know that opening all your presents on Christmas day is always so wonderful and amazing and thrilling…but I think we all have that curiosity. Whenever we see presents laid out under the tree on the lead up to the 25th, even from just looking at them we all try to figure out in advance what we’ll be getting this year. We just can’t help ourselves! Sometimes we just look, and sometimes we pick up the gifts and shake them until someone drags us away kicking and screaming, that’s just how it is. One thing it also is though, is a mega scoop. Every ego had the curiosity, but no-one more than the young Reporter Jim. He was looking for the scoop of the season with sensational spoilers, and he was convinced that finding out the contents of everyone’s presents was the best way to go about it.

How would he do this you ask? Well, he’d set up a stake-out point (a mini blanket fort behind a couch) with a view of the main Christmas tree, wait for someone to deposit a bunch of gifts, and then interview them for all the juicy details. That was the plan anyway. Jim had gotten a tad side-tracked, but I mean you couldn’t blame him; if you were to see a cute little glob in his own Christmas jumper, I figure you’d get side-tracked from whatever task you were doing too.

‘The Demon Hunter Jims knitted it for you? How intriguing! Did they use itty-bitty knitting needles?’

Jim asked curiously, to which Gooper replied with a soft shrugging motion and a little gurgle; Jim hummed.

‘I’m sure I shall find out at a later time from them-oh! Say, you wouldn’t happen to have any information on those there wrapped gifts would you? I’m trying to get all the hot gift gossip!’

Jim received another little shrug and a gurgle, although Gooper had been partaking in many a transferring of gifts from people to different places, he knew nothing of the contents. Jim sighed softly, but nevertheless smiled at the little glob and stroked him gently.

‘Ahh no matter, I shall soon come across the intel! Thank you though dear Gooper, your company and interview etiquette is impeccable as always!’

Gooper let out a proud, happy gurgle and gave Jim’s fingers a little hug before shuffling away from Jim’s hiding spot and going about his globular business. Jim humphed softly as he settled back in his hiding spot and refocused his keen gaze on the Christmas tree, wondering how long he’d have to wait before he could spot or acquire any fresh leads. He didn’t have to wait long though, because not even a minute later….in came Marvin the Magnificent, or Magic Jim as he was known by the Jims. Jim gasped silently as he watched the magician bring in an armful of gifts, and arrange them neatly under the tree.

‘Perfect…’

Marvin sighed happily to himself as he finished his arrangement and stood up straight, doing a little stretch, and then turning to leave the room the way he came. I can tell you right now though, that Marvin wasn’t going to be leaving so quickly….Jim wasn’t one to give up a scoop. So he, very literally, jumped out of his hiding spot, brandished his microphone, and landed perfectly in front of the magician as he exclaimed.

‘WHAT CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THOSE GIFTS YOU JUST PUT DOWN?!’

Marvin let out a, totally brave and masculine, shriek as he jumped about two feet in the air, his eyes wide at the sudden Jim Appearance. Once he realised that it was merely A Jim and not a threat, he clutched his chest and let out an embarrassed laugh.

‘Blohoody hehell, wahay to nearly give me a heart ahattack Jim!’

Jim then found himself feeling a tad embarrassed, realising that he had perhaps made his entrance a tad too dramatic, especially since he wasn’t usually so brash. He smiled bashfully as he replied.

‘S-Sorry Magic Jim, I-I just really need this scoop!’

Marvin laughed fondly, the stammers revealing to him that it was Reporter Jim, one of the youngest Jims, that he was talking to. Then the magician furrowed his eyebrows curiously.

‘What scoop?’

At his interest, Jim started to fidget with excitement…before going on a good old Jimmy ramble.

‘The scoop of presents of course! The secrecy and mystery that shrouds gift giving at Christmas is simply UNPARALLELLED, so I have made it my task to uncover the identity of every single gift in the ego household! And, Magic Jim, since I have just seen you deposit quite a lot of gifts I simply must interview you for intel!’

Marvin chuckled softly at the young reporter, finding his excitement and rare confidence seriously cute and adorable. However…Marvin didn’t know the contents of the gifts he’d put under the tree, he’d merely been doing a favour for some fellow egos by putting them there. However, Marvin didn’t have the heart to disappoint the young Jim by telling him he didn’t know anything, so the magician decided to play coy.

‘Oh but I couldn’t possibly divulge that information Jim! Christmas gift-giving is shrouded in secrecy for a reason, the secrecy is part of Christmas itself!’

Marvin inspected his nails as he mused with a playful smile, and resisted the urge to aww at Jim’s sudden excited squeak at thinking Marvin had information. The reporter was BEYOND excited, and he was certainly not going to let any coyness get in the way of the scoop of the year!

‘Oh please Magic Jim, pleeease? I won’t tell anyone what they’re getting, I swear on the clan of Jim!’

Marvin repressed a fond laugh upon seeing how Jim was practically pouting up at him like a sweet little kid, hut the magician held firm. He folded his arms with a playful smirk and glimmering eyes.

‘Sorry Jim, these lips are sealed.’

Marvin loved playing with Jim like this, he loved the meek Jim in general because he was just a complete and utter sweetheart; plus, in his rare moments of being passionate and excitable, he was almost unbearably cute. Meanwhile, Jim was pouting with furrowed eyebrows at Marvin’s teasing. He was resolute on getting whatever information the magician had, so he was brainstorming, trying to figure out how he could get what he wanted…then…an idea came to him. It was an excellent idea, but Jim was nervous to try it out. He’d never done it to anybody else by himself before.

‘W-Well….what if I persuade you a-and make you tell me?’

Jim cleared his throat, standing up a little straighter. Marvin couldn’t help but grin curiously at what sounded like a playful threat from Jim.

‘Oh? And how exactly are you gonna do that?’

Jim pursed his lips when Marvin teasily…and he narrowed his eyes at the magician. He was going to put his nervousness aside. He was going to get the intel from Magic Jim…even if it meant tickle torturing it out of him. He put his microphone down, took a step towards Marvin, and smiled as he spoke softly.

‘Magic Jim….are you ticklish?’

Marvin’s eyes widened at the question, making Jim giggle excitedly.

‘I’ll take that as a yes.’

Jim eagerly pounced on the bemused, flustered magician, pinning him to the floor as Marvin burst out into babbles. Whatever he’d been expecting from the meek Jim, it certainly hadn’t been this….and now Marvin was worried. If he’d known that this was going to happen then he wouldn’t have fibbed.

‘N-No wait I-I-I don’t know anything! H-Honestly! I-I-I was just p-playing-AH! J-Jihihim!’

Marvin’s eyes got wider and wider with every second as he clung to the hope of Jim believing him….but alas….he did not. Jim merely giggled down at the magician, and started gently scratching at the sides of his neck as he teased.

‘Do you really think I’m going to fall for that? I’m not gonna stop until you tell me everything!’

Marvin’s cheeks went a hot pink as he tried to push at Jim’s hands, flustered at how he’d basically brought this entire thing on himself.

‘Ihihi swehear Ihi dohon’t knohow ahanything! Ihi swehehear!’

Jim rolled his eyes fondly, finding Marvin very adorable since he thought he was willingly playing along with it all. He made swift work of Marvin’s flapping hands, pinning them under his knees before returning to running his blunt nails up and down Marvin’s neck evilly.

‘Come on now Magic Jim, I know you Septic Jims like to try and be tough, but I’m only gonna tickle you more if you keep fibbing!’

Marvin whimpered and giggled adorably, shaking and tossing his head about as he tried to scrunch up his sensitive neck; of course, this only resulted in his hair going all over his face as he tried to plead the truth.

‘Ihihihi’m nahat fihihibbing! Plehehease! I-Ihihi’m reheally tihicklish!’

Jim couldn’t help but giggle and gasp sarcastically.

‘Woah, really?’

Jim’s sarcasm made Marvin blush harder and splutter with cute embarrassment.

‘Shuhuhut uhup!’

Jim grinned and cocked his head down at him, looking cheeky and boyish as he decided to let his tickly fingers slowly drift down to Marvin’s ribcage. Now he understood why his brothers tickled him so much all the time, this was SO much fun!

‘Now, now Magic Jim….you know how we Jims pride ourselves on manners….’

Jim teased as he traced over all of Marvin’s ribs, making the magician whine and squirm as goose-bumps rose all over his skin.

‘W-Wahait I-I dihihidn’t mean ihit! Plehehease Jihim no mohore!’

Jim giggled and raised his eyebrows down at Marvin.

‘Are you going to tell me what I want to know?’

Marvin whined even more, throwing his head back with a flustered smile in place.

‘I-Ihihi cahahan’t!’

Jim grinned an evil grin, but kept his voice evilly innocent as he dug into Marvin’s ribcage mercilessly.

‘Are you sure about that Magic Jim? Are you reeeally sure?’

Marvin’s whole body seemed to jolt as he burst into wide-eyed cackles, his whole form thrashing about with his adorable ticklishness as he gazed up at Jim desperately.

‘AHAHA JIHIHIM NAHAHA! STAHAHAPPIHIT!!’

‘Tell me what you know! Or I’m gonna tickle and tickle right up till Christmas Day! Don’t think I won’t!’

Jim teased, and his inner innocence somehow just made the entire thing even more flustering for poor Marvin; Jim was so sweet, and yet so torturous, and it was flustery as fuck! He was snorting and wailing in embarrassment through his mirth as he realised that Jim was probably the teasiest tickler he’d ever met….and he was shook.

‘NAHAHA JIHIHIHIM YOHOU MEHEHEANIE!!’

Marvin cried, and Jim giggled fondly down at him, the magician looked so precious. His face was screwed up with his mirth and his eyes were closed, plus his hair was mussed up entirely and starting to stick to his forehead. Jim decided that now would be the perfect time to rub the gaps in-between the magician’s ribs as he cooed.

‘You’ve only brought this on yourself Magic Jim! If only you’d talked earlier, then you might have been spared this torture….but no, you had to be a defiant little Septic didn’t you?’

Marvin wailed and arched his back at the tickling as Jim continued to tease, the latter feeling absolutely thrilled at the whole thing.

‘I know you think I’m the meekest of the Jims…but all Jims share a power and a passion, so you know I mean it when I say I’m not gonna give in….’

To put it simply, Marvin had never felt so flustered in the entirety of his life, and he rubbed shoulders everyday with Antisepticeye for goodness sake! The magician ended up letting out a shriek as Jim targeted his bottommost ribs, it was just torture.

‘PLEHEHEEEEASE! IHIHIT TIHIHICKLES SOHO BAHAHAD!!’

Jim hummed at his cries, and decided to relinquish the rib-tickling, he was a very nice guy after all and didn’t want to totally overwhelm the magician. He was passionate tickle torturer for sure, but not a heartless one, which Marvin was certainly thankful for as he took a few moments to catch his breath. Once he had done so though…Jim was quick to start drifting his fingers over Marvin’s tummy; he smiled as he whispered softly.

‘You know what I want…’

Marvin was a mess of trembles and sweet little gasps by this point, poor guy.

‘I-Ihi cahan’t gihive it toho yohou…’

Jim pouted softly down at Marvin, keeping up the softer tickling as he replied.

‘But why?’

Marvin had to take a few moments to get his voice under control amidst his giggles, but he managed it as he looked up at Jim.

‘Ihihi fihibbed! Ihi nehever knew ahanythihing from the stahart! Ihi swehear!’

Jim furrowed his eyebrows down at the magician….his eyes were so wide and watery and…honest. Could it be that Marvin was actually telling the truth? Jim’s tickling started to really slow down now as he became encompassed by his thoughts.

‘But….Magic Jim I don’t understand, why fib in the first place?’

Marvin was still giggling, but at seeing Jim starting to believe him, it spurred him to speak.

‘Y-Yohou lohooked soho happy when yohou thought Ihi knehew somethihing, I-I d-dihidn’t wahant to ruin thahat…’

Jim’s eyes widened as his jaw very nearly dropped. He stopped the tickling and slid off of Marvin, shocked and almost tearing up as the realisation hit him hard. Marvin had been being so sweet to him, and all this time he’d just been tickle torturing the absolute hell out of him!

‘O-Oh my…M-Magic Jim I-…I-I didn’t realise! I-I’m s-so sorry!’

Jim was on the verge of starting to feel awful about what he’d done…but Marvin’s chuckle and grin stopped that from happening. The magician sat up and ran a hand through his long locks, giggling fondly at Jim as he replied.

‘Duhude don’t even worry about it, Ihi shouldn’t have fibbed in the first place so I kinda deserved all that…’

Jim relaxed and giggled a tad at Marvin’s words, since that was kinda true. Then though, he found himself blushing when Marvin nudged him and playfully teased.

‘You’re a mean little tickler by the way! Where d’ya learn to be that evil, huh?’

Marvin grinned as he sneakily poked Jim’s arms and sides, making the meek man squeak and giggle bashfully, half-curling up as he replied in the most adorable fashion.

‘I-Ihi have aha lot ohof mehean brothehers!’

Marvin let out an amused sigh of realisation as he stopped the playful poking, chuckling gently.

‘Ahhhh figures, siblings can be evil little shits.’

Jim giggled at that, but then the magician fixed him with a curious look.

‘Oh, by the way, why do you wanna know what everyone’s gifts are anyway?’

Jim blinked at the sudden question, before developing a bashful blush and rubbing the back of his neck as he mumbled.

‘O-Oh…well….I-I wanted to make this little catalogue thing for everyone on Christmas Day, for everyone to look at after they’ve opened all their presents. With pictures and descriptions of everyone’s gifts and who they were from and why they chose specific gifts for specific people, like a gift album I guess…’

…Marvin’s heart just absolutely melted.

‘….that is the sweetest idea I’ve ever heard.’

Jim lit up with a cute, bright smile…hearing someone talk about his idea like that made him feel so happy.

‘R-Really?’

Marvin eagerly nodded, an excited grin in place.

‘Hell yeah! Say, would a magical assistant be of any use to you?’

Jim gasped and squealed at the prospect of Marvin wanting to help him, and dove in to hug him as he babbled giddily.

‘Oh my goodness Magic Jim I’d love that so much thank you you’re so sweet and generous and an amazing Jim thank you thank you! I-I have a scope-out den come on come with me come with me!’

Marvin giggled, and was feeling excited beyond belief as he was led into Jim’s secret den of scoping and snooping, and they soon became an intel finding team…and god help you if you tried to keep your secrets from them.

I watched By Any Means (six months after it aired) so you don't have to.

Here's what happened...

This post is for you @xbleeple and all of the other Major Crimes fans that couldn't bring themselves to watching the series finale. I'm making this recap for you so that you don't have to waste your time watching. Even Sharon Raydor alive couldn’t save this terrible excuse of an ending. Along with a huge side of salt to keep you entertained.

Provenza threatens to kill Stroh about five times per episode. To anyone that will listen including Mason. Despite that Mason still lets Provenza  and Co. chase the case until the bitter end. How's that for objectivity? 

Stroh has a partner a Hacker, who is a British version of Rusty. Seriously this could be Graham P. Martin's twin in a look alike contest. When people told Duff that Rusty was annoying he said hold my beer: I've written you someone that is about a million times worse. 

They end up setting up shop in Brenda's old house and spy on the MC squad via a virus they sent to their cell phones. British Rusty Hacker Boy spends the majority of the four episodes spying on the squad while making hilarious comments like he’s at the movies. And eating popcorn...I really wish I was kidding about that...

What’s a movie without popcorn? 

Emma Rios reappears for the sole purpose of being killed by Stroh. And @blossom--of--snow wonderfully pointed out that Emma is killed in the exact same way as the victim in her very first case. Wow what a cool thing to kill another major female character (who i know hasn't been on the show in years but still) and have that death be just as needless. 

Provenza realizes that only he can keep Rusty safe (spoiler alert no he can't) because Emma's guards fucked up and let her be killed in her own swimming pool. So he becomes Rusty's guard and that comes into play later. 

The squad think that Stroh came back to kill everyone connected to him because he was dying. Turns out that was complete bullshit and Stroh only wanted money. His mother who had Alzheimers or Dementia. Which means that power of attorney for her fell to her step son and he decided to cut off Stroh's mega supply of money. So in the end, Stroh's main motivation to kill everyone who was ever involved with him is solely about money. Money that he could just as easily stolen from somewhere else. Also he had no real reason to actually kill any of these people except for his step brother who was the one to cut him off. Talk about being dumb and letting everyone on a trail straight to you!

The squad learns that Stroh was always a psycho and his mother helped him cover up his first murder. The squad hears about this from Mrs Stroh who has dementia or Alzheimer's (I really can't remember which) and suddenly remembers everything that happened in her past just long enough for them the hear about this. We learn more about Stroh's past than we do Sharon Raydor's. And her monolithic monologue descends into a campy flashback that rivals American Horror Story at it's worst. 

The squad feels sorry for Stroh because his mom was the only person he trusted ended up betraying him in the end. Also it's the reason why he hates women so much is because his mom betrayed him. Even though her continued relationship with him destroyed her marriage. Even though she helped him cover up multiple murders. And even though she betrayed him years after his first murder (who was a girl he liked). 

Stroh kills some people including his stepbrother (but not his mother) and his own partner's partner (who is a prostitute because Rusty parallels). 

Threatens that Rusty is next but never actually comes after Rusty. I honestly don't think that he ever really intended to come after Rusty. Rusty has nothing to do with his money and that was his main motivation. 

Rusty tracks down a Stroh lead because both Rusty and Ricky (who make breaks in their case) are better cops than the elite detectives who have had decades of experience under their belts. You know realism bro! Provenza chases the lead and lets Rusty and Gus go with him and of course it leads them to Stroh. 

Provenza goes alone to visit Stroh on some boat behind the house, while Buzz calls in a dead body they find. Leaving Rusty and Gus all alone, unattended so that Stroh or anyone else can find them and kill them. Great protecting Provenza!

Rusty sneaks away onto the boat because no one is babysitting him. Meanwhile Provenza finds Stroh. He is suddenly overcome with some common sense and decides against killing him. But then common sense leaves him and his dumb ass throws his hand cuffs to Stroh so that Stroh will willingly handcuff himself. 

You know instead of calling for reinforcements and just waiting it out with a gun trained on Stroh. 

Suddenly Rusty pops out of nowhere from some hiding spot. Because he got that that area before Stroh and Provenza. Because he knew where Stroh would be before Stroh knew. He shoots Stroh five times with no provocation what so ever. There is zero conversation between Rusty and Stroh. The reason why Rusty killed Stroh? Because he doesn't want anyone to know he was a prostitute. 

Provenza does the 'right' thing (just like Stroh's mother did for him) and pretends that he shot Stroh. Even though Stroh was not killed with Provenza's gun. Even though Rusty has GSR on his hands and Provenza doesn't. Even though Provenza is a buck shot and would kill him with one bullet. Remember that Provenza killed Wade Weller from a few hundred feet away from him right between the fucking eyes. Oh and hey it's all okay because it turns out that Stroh had a knife in his boot. Because justification. 

I.A. clears Provenza (no way in hell). Everyone *wink wink nod nod's* to Rusty that they know he was the one who killed Stroh and they are all totally cool with it. From Fritz to Julio. Totally cool you killed someone today, we're proud of you! Keep up that good work! 

Andy is the only one who didn't pick up on Rusty having killed Stroh. And no one tells him that his step son is a killer. Maybe one day Andy will be killed by Rusty. I don't know what is worse. Living with a person that you don't know is a killer who may one day snap from trauma like that because shit like that doesn't leave a person. Or knowing that you couldn't keep your wife's son save from himself. Even though her last dying wish was for her kids to be taken care of. 

Now time for everyone's happy endings. Provenza starts his tenure as (Lieutenant) in charge of Major Crimes as a criminal. You know trying to keep the world safe from all of those pesky criminals. Rusty starts his law career as a killer. He really made sure to make Sharon proud of him for being an adult who takes responsibility for his own actions. 

Rusty and Gus get back together after Gus heedlessly harassing Rusty who wants nothing to do with him romantically. There is zero resolution (no conversation of a reconciliation or forgiveness)  in their relationship. I mean hey, Gus as a cheater isn't that bad when you compare him with Rusty who is a killer. Also Andy is totally cool with them sleeping together, Gus asked him. And hey, their relationship is totally not toxic or anything. And they aren't bound to breakup about five times before they die but hey what is true love but dis-functionality?

Julio left them all behind for another squad because he doesn't want Mark to grow up without a father. Buzz became a real cop, but not because it was what he wanted. But because it's what Provenza said so. Wes and Cami are maybe a couple. Amy is as disgusted as I am about them in the deleted scene. Where they flirt over comparing serial killers to cereal. That leaves me scratching my head with: WTF happened to the writing?

Mike, Amy and Andrea got forgotten about and had no ending. Andy became the angry bitter widdower that Julio was and even takes over his desk because being right next to where his wife died is just too fucking painful. Oh and Ricky is actually Sharon's first born not Emily, Sharon said so. 

Not to mention that Sharon was replaced by a vase of roses that everyone stares at.

Well, I just watched the latest episode of Steven Universe (Reunited)

And holy CRAP do I have a lot of thoughts on it.

In a bit, I’m gonna rewatch the whole Stevenbomb and write my thoughts on each episode semi-live, then post them here, but first, just an over-all analysis of the five episodes. Six? No. No, its just five.

Spoilers under the cut.

Well, that was. A lot. Can’t say I was expecting most of it. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I saw a couple leaks, so I knew Bismuth was coming back, and just based on the episode titles, I could tell there was gonna be a wedding. Probably between the only official unmarried couple still alive, AKA Garnet. And I suspected Lapis was gonna be coming back at some point, but goddamn. What an entrance.

The whole bomb seemed extremely well-done. It basically centered around two concepts: the revelation of Rose being Pink Diamond, and the relationship between Ruby and Sapphire (which, it turns out, was extremely important in the story of the former). It featured most of the Crystal Gems thoughts on the revelation (minus Lapis and Peridot, since Lapis wasn’t around and Peridot probably wouldn’t be too impacted), as well as the possible dissolution turned certain strengthening of the relationship, all culminating in whatever the hell Reunited was. And I for one loved ALL of it.

Now, to get a bit more specific, lets talk about three aspects: the two I mentioned above, and everyone’s favorite problematic Crystal Gem.

1: The Problem And Solution With Bismuth

Now, if you go back on this blog to when the episode “Bismuth” dropped, you may see a post or two where I mentioned some not too positive opinions of her. I do still stand by the fact that her actions did warrant her “punishment”. After all, merely because Steven (and Rose) didn’t want to shatter any gems, even horrible ones like the diamonds, she tried to shatter Steven (or, as she thought, Rose). That’s obviously a problem, and one that’s really big. I’ve seen people comparing it too how quickly Lapis and Peridot were forgiven, but I think a lot of people are forgetting how important motivation really is in regards to “redemption”. Lapis had been imprisoned for thousands of years, and she believed the CG’s were trying to keep her imprisoned. Peridot was following the Diamonds’ orders and was basically still brainwashed to adore them. Bismuth, meanwhile, was acting on her own, and when she first had an altercation with Rose, all she thought was that Rose didn’t want to permanently kill the Diamonds. Is that understandably infuriating? Yes. To the point of permanently killing HER? No.

That said, I do think the character is ultimately good-hearted, and I do and did think she deserved some form of redemption and reconciliation. I didn’t think the show would have it, honestly, due to how many other threads were being juggled, as well as how she was seemingly unpersoned for quite some time (though, in-universe, would you want to take about your friend who you had to put in jail because they wanted to straight up murder anyone who even THOUGHT to negotiate with the opposition?). And I will agree that the underlying “moral” of her episode, as well as possibly with the one from “Gem Harvest” was a little mistimed given recent... let’s say “world events”. 

Still, I was very interested to see how they were going to deal with her character, and I must say, I was very glad with how they handled her return. I really do think she’s going to be a major CG from now on, at least at the level of Lapis and Peridot. She does make for an interesting foil to the rest of the cast, and she’s just an all-around fun character, both to watch and, I imagine, to write.

2: The Tragedy Of Pink Diamond The Young

So, in “Now We’re Only Falling Apart”, an episode seemingly named after a lyric from a pop-punk song, we learned quite a bit more about Pink Diamond’s life and personality, and by extension, Rose’s. I have seen a couple people on tumblr say “Well, it was still her colony, why couldn’t she just shut it down?” To those people, I say “Did we watch the same episodes?” I think it was pretty clearly demonstrated that it WASN’T her colony anymore, for all intents and purposes. A fact that, now that I think about it, was foreshadowed as far back as “The Answer”. Huh. First time we saw a diamond, and it foreshadowed a reveal from 4 seasons later. I guess it’s appropriate, since this episode also shows how important the events of that episode were, not just to Garnet, but to Pink/Rose, Pearl, and the Crystal Gems as a whole.

Speaking of Pearl, I love how we see her, even before she was a part of Pink Diamond’s “revolution”, thinking her own thoughts. Seriously, SHE came up with the Rose Quartz persona! How freaking cool is that?! On top of that, we see very subtle and not so subtle hints that she really did view Pearl as, if not an equal, at least not a mere servant or trophy. Pearl may have been forced into a life of servitude, but it was never by Rose.

Overall, I think all of the character’s reactions make a lot of sense for who they are. Sapphire and Ruby are both devastated, for much the same reason but shown in different ways. Steven is kinda shell-shocked, but he’s pushing it aside to help others, often at his own expense. Amethyst is seemingly blasé about the whole thing, only to reveal some serious issues about it that she doesn’t want Steven to have to deal with. Bismuth is 

yeah, that. Greg is so used to learning new, sometimes literally world shattering things about Rose that he’s like “Yep, same shit as always”. And Peridot never met Rose Quartz or lived under Pink Diamond, so she really doesn’t care other than “What if the currently LIVING diamonds come to Earth?”

In particular, I think “What’s Your Problem” has my favorite reaction to the revelation, and that’s Amethyst. Like I said, she seemingly takes it really well, but I think anyone who's ever tried to ignore or mask problems they’re having can tell she’s just barely keeping her feelings inside. I really love her reasoning for doing so, though. Not because she doesn't want to deal with it, or because she’s scared or even particularly upset. She’s holding it in because Steven doesn't need it. It honestly reminds me of the “New Crystal Gems”.

Connie: I don't care! So I'm not Steven. Maybe he's really great at helping people work out these arguments, maybe he's really patient and caring, even though it must be hard for him having to be the adult for a bunch of super-powered children! 

Throughout the series, ever since season one really, Steven has had to play Only Sane Man to a bunch of walking, talking, super-powered emotional issues that are millennia older than him. Now, Amethyst has realized “Yeah, that’s stupid, he has his own issues that need to be taken care of, I’m not gonna push mine on him. At least, not anymore.”

I don’t know. I just really liked it.

3: The First Animated Gay Wedding Proposal

Not counting that one joke one in GAoB&M, of course.

Look, I’m a human with emotions, okay? So of course I automatically love Ruby and Sapphire. They’re adorable, they’re badass, and they fuse into a mega-adorable, mega-badass mom. What’s not to love, right?

This is the first time we’ve had multiple episodes in a row of Ruby and Sapphire being, well, Ruby and Sapphire. Seriously, any other time we’ve gotten to know them individually, it’s been in one-episode bursts. And as much as I love Garnet, I’ll be honest, I’d be willing to see less of her if it means seeing more of them.

I saw a few people online talking before the episodes came out about how “Out Of Character” Ruby being happy without Sapphire was. Even Cartoon Network played it up like “Oh, they may never get back together!” But, really, I could see Ruby was lying through her teeth when I first saw the promo where she claimed to be fine. I think people need to get better about telling when a cartoon lesbian rock alien is lying.

...admittedly, that’s not actually that vital a skill.

Nonetheless, I think it was important to show the two of them come to the conclusions they did on their own (sort of? I mean Sapphire had help from Pearl and Steven, and even Ruby got a push from Steven, but you know what I mean). It can be important to take a step back and see what a relationship means to you, and what you really want out of your future together. Wether that means leaving your girlfriend of almost 6 millennia to become a cowboy, or host the first serious LGBTQIA+ wedding in Cartoon History, that’s up to the individuals involved.
