Hi! I'm a reader with hEDS like Violet, and Fourth Wing made me feel like I'd been spat on.

*This* is what we get for representation? One million instances of pushing through pain?

In terms of Violet being lanky and skinny, I get it. A lot (not all! Not all! Do you hear me! Not all!) of people with hEDS are extremely thin, but also very tall. I felt a bit sad that that second part wasn't explored-- it's way harder to keep from bumping your elbows when your arms are that long. What I really wanted to see with the "uwu I'm sooooooo white-- I mean pale -- and skinny owo" was some kind of sunburn. Hell, even more evident bruising. There are consequences to the EDS complexion (obviously poc will have different experiences, but we're talking about a Generic White Fantasy Girl Here)

I kept hoping that she would get some kind of mobility aid, some kind of help from her small dragon, a brace, anything. We got a few mentions of wraps, but considering her biggest issues seemed to come from her shoulders and knees, that's a bandaid on a stab wound. It wouldn't save her forever.

The opportunity to explore accessible and altered sex positions was entirely ignored. Considering, again, the shoulders, there should have been more thought put into it. (Also, did you know a hEDS symptom is easier bruising? This includes the cervix. Do with that what you will)

I kept waiting for something (electric finger splints? Aches from the storms her powers cause? A day when she finally went too far and couldn't move? Nosebleeds from flying too high?), and it just never came. Violet was the bestest and the most powerful because she pushed through her body's warning signal that something was about to give, and was rewarded with Ambiguously Brown Man #45.

What a waste of time. What a message to give to the people with the same condition.

I didn't have very many opinions about this because I didn't know very much about hEDS. But even to me the whole thing of her having the disease felt kind of gimmicky because of the way that it was treated. I honestly didn't realise (because of the way everything was written) until like the end that her getting injured easily wasn't just another quirky trait of hers because she was just so tiny and petite and fragile.

but after hearing yours and reading other people's testimonies about how debilitating the condition can be, it's really insane to me how RY managed to misrepresent her own condition.

I don't understand why authors always make their mc so short and teeny tiny like it's so weird.

I feel like RY started writing her as a person with EDS and then got bored/forgot about it quickly and just peppered in symptoms while editing.

To me it felt like she was just using it as a way to add to Violet's QuiRy-ness and nothing more.

As far as I remember the only aid Violet got was the big dragon helping her stay on his back while she was riding but I don't think that that helped her very much.

I have mild hyper mobility and even writing for a long time is difficult because of that. So how Violet is able to ride a dragon and fight with a condition a million times worse and no aid I will never be able to understand.

I feel like RY didn't give her any mobility aids or anything because it would make her seem "weak" but de stigmatizing the need for additional help is an entirely different topic.

Honestly imo she just used the syndrome as a gimmick and an easy way to make her character interesting.

There is so much that could have been explored but wasn't.

Omg i just wann crawl into a hole and rot😭 i wrote SOOOOOOO much in this post. Sooooooo much!!!!!!!! This post is not based on tarot - all of it is based on my personal observations, experiences, opinions and the energy I've picked up from them from previous readings. Chan - ADHD, OCD

He has mentioned the ocd himself while talking about red lights. He said tho that he thinks its not really ocd but something of that sort. In my experience ocd is heavily influenced by the level of dysregulation in your nervous system so if you're well regulated, even during stressful times, the ocd doesn't show as strongly as to be pathological. Once ur dysregulated tho it is definitely there and it depends on you how bad you let it get. So i for sure think he has it, its just not as intense for him to be diagnosed, which speaks good for him actually cuz i never thought someone under so much stress could keep himself so regulated, especially taking in mind his sleep and eating routine.

As for the adhd its just pretty obvious i think. Tho i believe he medicates it, espc since seungmin once mentioned something about chan having forgotten to take his meds today hence why he's all over the place.

Lee Know - On the spectrum

I did a long, long, detailed paragraph on autism and at the end described why i think lee know falls under it, but im so angry i don't wanna do it all over again right now. If you're interested on more details u can send a request and whenever i feel like it I'll do a post like that.

Changbin - On the spectrum

Same here, i just started to describe why i think he falls under the spectrum and then everything got deleted😭. Changbis paragraph is different tho. Why i think he's on the spectrum is because of his genius-like abilities in many if not all fields. He gives me wunderkind vibes. And i habe also picked up on him being the goat when he was a kid, but as he grows up the abilities and sureness he once had as a kid isn't there anymore or way less. Yk the autistic "trope" of being the wunderkind and them growing up into the burned out adult with so much lost potential. He give's me a bit of that vibe. He's also extremely sensitive and intuitive and has incredible attention to detail and patterns. He has such a unique sense for music and creation - in his field of music and rap he really is a genius. He calls himself a prodigy when little and i actually believe that (even if the members dont🥲😂) and even if he's very well liked by lots of people because of his great qualities as a human, he seems ufjfjf idk how to describe it. Like he's not integrated in with them (im talking about the group) but he's watching from outside. He's always the but of the joke, he's always the rejected one, he's always somehow different than them and doesn't quite fit in the group. In the sense that it feels like he doesn't get fully and completely accepted in a large group setting. I think he does grate one on one or in small 3 people groups, but once theres a small society - he's the left one out. I have so much more to say about all of this but once again - i think I'll leave it for another post when i get the inspiration for it.

My second pipeline of future ideas: Part 1

As of right now, I'm making an analysis on Noximilien Coxen the Watchmaker from Wakfu, and it's going pretty smoothly, I should be able to publish it as of tomorrow.

In the meantime, I thought about making a second survey to see what each and every one of you wants to see first between these projects:

Lord Shen's horrifying humanity: an analysis of Lord Shen in the same vein as my Tai Lung's one; I've recently rewatched both of the Kung Fu Panda movies after so many years, AND IT WAS SOOOOOOO GOOD. While watching the second one, however, I've noticed something that I've never seen: how the film focuses so much on Shen's emotional state, and how it helps him to become one of the greatest baddies in all of animation.

Doll and Andrew Graves comparison: remember all the times when I've said I was going to make a comparison post between Nox from Wakfu and Doll from Murder Drones? Well, I'm still going to do that once episode 8 is out, but in the meantime, since both The Coffin Of Andy And Leyley and Murder Drones are unfinished products, I thought, sure why not? My only hope is to get the Andrew part right, I'm especially worried since there're new pieces of information regarding Julia and Rene that I still haven't seen, so I might need to get my facts checked.

How and Why Liam Vickers wrote Doll as a rather unsympathetic character: I feel like, when you really love something, you must be able to criticise it. And this is exactly the goal of this analysis, as I break down all of the problems with Doll's writing right from the conceptual issues down to her future and legacy.

Female villains tier list: a long time coming, and still a long time in the making. The problem is that I've accidentally published it ahead of time only to then remake it from scratch and still accidentally publish it, again. Also I've decided to watch the Kerubim movie to see if Julith was as good as I've heard. I imagine so, since it's a Wakfu antagonist, but I have to wait and see.

Dark Vlad analysis: I want to make an analysis on every main antagonist of Wakfu, and since I can finally watch season 4 and maybe the movie, that includes Toross and Julith. But there's one minor, one-off antagonist that I also want to talk about; what is, in my opinion, the best villain from season 3 and the single greatest twist villain in all of fiction: the title itself is actually misleading, as I'll be talking about Goultard himself.

To find a way to spend the time while the survey ends, I'll be writing about the insanely untapped potential of Rebecca from Murder Drones.

FIC UPDATE LETS GOOOOO!!!!! Was refreshing the epic the musical fanfic tag and saw you updated “fighting to be loved” such a cute chapter even with Athena suffering!

I have many thoughts, a few that will be their own asks and not just mushed into one big one but here are some tidbits I enjoyed!

I like the bit where Athena kinda jokes about her birth, yeah it’s funny if she didn’t know how mortals are birthed but her knowing how can also be funny!

I love the parts where Athena enjoys talking to Telemachus about wood carving and watching Penelope embroider! It’s not brought up in the musical that Athena is also the goddess of crafting and weaving so i definitely understand why a lot of the fandom only focus’s on the war and strategy part of her domain so it’s definitely nice to see those brought up in fics and such!

I enjoy the characterization of Penelope not disliking Athena, yeah Penelope definitely has reasons to be upset with Athena but I’ve never really liked the characterization that some ppl do where Penelope just straight up hates Athena, I love how you give Penelope a solid reason to not hate her (and a reason why she would hate Athena if things were different)

All in all a cute chapter! Cant wait to see Athena suffer more (hoping for fever induced nightmares and delirium cause I eat that shit up lol)

Okay! Overall thoughts of the new live action adaptation of Avatar

- 10/10 costume and set design. It genuinely felt like that world had come alive visually and it was beautiful to see

- The actors all did really well with what they were given and some actors were assigned perfectly for the roles

- SO MANY STUPID AND UNNECESSARY CHANGES THAT DIDN’T NEED TO HAPPEN!!! They had the time and the money and resources to not change them. Changing them was pointless

- It literally starts off wrong. We see nothing of Aang being excluded by his friends because he is the avatar. He doesn’t even run away , he just flys up to think for a bit and gets caught in the storm. We don’t get to see his turmoil over his role and the guilt he feels from wanting to run away.

- Sooooo much frustration at the lost potential of this show.

- The characters felt like flat versions of who they were in the cartoons. Aang is just sort of there. Sokka isn’t all that funny (and he took some other characters’ lines) and Katara lost ALL her spunkiness.

- The change as to who Zuko’s crew were was really good in my opinion

- The small and subtle changes in scenes (like Zuko at the war meeting or how Pakku responds to Katara fighting him) made me so frustrated because it took away from the impact

- The characterisation of Sokka and Katara’s dad was sooooooo off. He’s a completely different character and says things his cartoon counterpart would never. Also the fact Sokka did actually do his ice dodging thing ??? That took away from a pain of his character

- In the original cartoon some of the romances could feel a tad choppy at times but it’s ten times worse in this adaptation. We don’t even get to see Sokka like try to woe Yue. They just like each other

- speaking of why can she travel to the spirit world as a fox. Why did they make it so Katara and Sokka went to the spirit world. Why change that.

- SO. MUCH. TELLING. NO. SHOWING. We are TOLD allllllllll these things about the characters but hardly ever shown it. Even though they had the time to do it !! We are told Aang is a goofy kid wayyyyy more then we are ever shown it.

- removing imperative plot points and shoving them together with other ones. No people living in the air temples. No town Jet wants to let me destroyed. No Pakku recognising Katara’s strength in after their fight , only when she talks to him in the war

- the moon and ocean spirits where just sort of thrown in at the end

- Azula was shown to already have a rocky relationship with her dad which again took away from what happens later when she cracks

-the plot points about Zuko and his relationship to Zhao got all mixed up and weird

Overall I stand by my comment that watching this show felt like eating the world’s most beautiful cake only for it to taste like nothing. I was more frustrated then anything watching this because it could have been good. It could have been sooooo good. The foundations were there. The budget was there. The design was there. But for some reason they felt the need to make all these little changes that made it feel more like someone was inaccurately recounting the show while also striping the characters of what makes them who they are.

I had a lot of fun researching these instead of working. Hope you like them but if you agree or disagree I'd love to hear which ones! Disclaimer: I used wikipedia for this so grain of salt on the accuracy of the flower/meaning match, but my reasonings still stand either way.

Farah is asphodel: Death, the underworld, "my regrets follow you to the grave", remembered beyond the tomb. I think Farah's unwitting role as the agent of death in Aster Dell colors every decision she makes. Grief for the people of Aster Dell, grief for the Rosalind she thought was her mentor, grief for so many what-could-have-beens. (Honorable mention: a fern. Canon.)

Saul is common rue: Regret, sorrow, repentance. This is pretty self-explanatory, but also, "in Sephardic Jewish, it is believed to possess protective qualities against malevolent forces, particularly the evil eye." Sephardic Jews lived in the Iberian peninsula... his name is literally Saul Silva, I mean how much more on the nose can you get? There are quite a few other flowers and meanings I could ascribe to Saul (blackthorn: Fate, protection, hope against adversity, difficulty) but the guilt is what most resonates with me about Saul.

Andreas is lavender: Love, devotion, loyalty, distrust, confession. This one feels a bit like cheating because there are plenty of definitions, but all of them fit Andreas to a T. The love, devotion, and loyalty are 100% displaced, or warped into something monstrous that allowed him to abandon his son for sixteen years, but no one can deny they're there. It didn't change anything, it made it worse, but they're there. The distrust and confession are what ultimately lead to his death, the sentimental fuckwit.

Riven is foxglove: Insecurity, stateliness, youth, insincerity, delirium. These are a bit harsh, but s1 Riven is what made me start writing about Fate: nothing more delicious for fanfiction than someone on the bottom of their redemption arc. The delirium is a reference to his preferred extra-curricular hobbies, lol. These are negative but not irredeemable, which is what drew me to Riven in the first place.

Musa is rainflower: Rebirth, new beginnings, great expectations. Musa transforms herself twice in s2. Of all the Winx she has the farthest to go with her magic, from learning to accept all parts of it to the full wing transformation. Honorable mention is the Himalayan blue poppy (potential, possibilities, psychic skills) for similar and other obvious reasons.

Sky is cowslip: Youthful beauty and winning grace, rejected love (in Switzerland), "glory of spring," heartsickness and the death of young maidens, rusticity, healing, pensiveness. I know Fate is the story of Bloom losing her innocence and taking responsibility, but think about how many times Sky's worldview symbolically dies over and over - drugged by Bloom, angered by Silva accepting death by Infection, Andreas alive the whole time, Andreas not the war hero Silva built him up to... this poor young maiden (gender-neutral) loses so much. Sky is a loyal knight after the fall of Camelot, when chivalry is dead.

i never actually did an update on my thoughts post since season 3, so i figured before i watched the movies i'll do a summary of my thoughts on the show.

first off it apparently took me over a year to finish it since i started in july of 2022, and it's now august of 2023. this isn't because i didn't like it or anything, i just kept doing other stuff and unlike with tos, i wasn't watching it WITH someone, so i wasn't on a schedule of any kind. however i did enjoy the show, i grew to like the characters quite a lot and i was invested in their stories. it was definitely a different vibe to tos, while tos is quite episodic, campy, and a bit dated, tng is less campy, a bit less episodic, and slightly less dated lol. it did kind of annoy me that we would start to get these longer arcing plots and then they would be abandoned or forgotten. for example at the beginning of the show it seemed like riker and troi were going to have a lot more "drama" in the show but nothing really happened with them, and then at the very end of the show they put her with worf and don't really explore that fully. i don't just mean romantic pairings but that's an example of what i mean. there was also just a general quality difference in episodes, maybe it was more noticeable here than in tos since tng was longer, but towards the end of the show in particular we got really good episodes followed by quite shit ones. by the time the show ended i didn't really feel like it was ready to end, if that makes sense. i feel like it was always toeing the line between being episodic and being a show with long plots. in general -- was fun. i had a good time. i've forgotten a lot from the beginning but oh well.

here i'll give my thoughts on the characters since that's what i used to do. in no particular order:

picard: i really don't have many strong opinions about him, some episodes he definitely was more entertaining than others. i think i would have liked to see him fail more often because generally he seems too capable at times. i do enjoy the rare moments where he loosens up. despite the longer screentime he had i weirdly feel like he has less depth than kirk? let me know if this is a crazy take but i don't feel like picard is a particularly complicated man, he doesn't seem like he has a lot of inner turmoil or conflict about things, meanwhile kirk is going through it at all times. not to constantly compare the two but. well, i just did

troi: the most beautiful woman in the world i'm such a whore when i look at her. when she got a real uniform i whooped and hollered and when she become a COMMANDER bitch?!?!?! i really do wish they did more with her character she had sooooooo much potential with being half-betazed and they never really give it the exploration it deserves, they use it when its convenient and forget when it isn't. i feel like if we had gotten one more season she could have really shined but they were like i know let's spend the last couple of episodes we have with her making her date worf i guess. also why did they give her mom so much trauma. that wasn't nice.

worf: i grew to like him more and more as the show went on, like whenever i would realize the episode i was watching was going to be a worf-focused episode i would get excited. he's one of those unintentionally funny characters which makes him entertaining, but i also find it interesting seeing the way he balances his klingon heritage with his role as a starfleet officer. i love how much he loves being a klingon, and how he always wants to teach other people about it and let them, in turn, learn more about him. he cares deeply and he tries hard even if he doesn't get it right. i know he's in ds9 so i'm happy to see more of him when i finally get to that

riker: we didn't get enough of him tbh. it felt like there would be multiple season gaps between his solo episodes. like for someone who is the first officer he didn't feel very relevant to the show, they stopped caring about his character after a while. he would have maybe a small arc in certain episodes but he was mostly there because he had to be? maybe the sporadic way i watched is effecting my memory on this. but i really like him, i think he's funny and i like his rogue tendencies.

geordi: we also didn't get enough of geordi. i love him but i feel like i barely know anything about him. but i love how genuinely kind and caring he is, and he's also in the scotty position of "the ship would fall apart without him" i feel like every episode picard would be like geordi fix this! help! also i wish he would have kissed the android.

data: hey it's the android. i love this dude. however i am getting a little overexposed to the dude and i know the movies are only going to continue that. idk why by s6-7 they were like "we're out of ideas for data. what if he liked killing and hurt his crewmates and was maybe evil" which is so lazy. like it would all somehow get resolved by the end and everyone would just move on like data wasn't a genocide machine two minutes ago. the finale reminded me of the way data used to be, where he would constantly ask people questions and say obvious things, and i realized i really missed that. he has dreams and shit now he's not really as compelling. he's been a human to me from day 1 so they didn't need to do all that. however brent spiner continues to be very funny.

beverly: um she certainly was there. don't get me wrong i like her but i feel like i never had any strong attachment to her. she didn't get many solo episodes and the last one i can remember (with the fucking. ghost?) was not good. yeah i can't really think of anything else to say. she's fine.

wesley: ok i know he like left the show after a certain point but i would be remiss to mention again that his arc did not end in a good way and he should get to take a NAP why does he have to keep being SO SPECIAL. also why does anyone ever hate this kid he was like 12 he literally was so non offensive to the show. but i did really like every time he came back after wil wheaton left i feel like wesley brings a new perspective to the show that is needed.

honorable mention ro laren: she's my icon right now so i feel like i have to mention her. i would have loved to see more of her in the show, i found her character really compelling and complex. i liked how she was always a bit of a bitch. i'm on the fence of how i feel about her arc ending, i feel like the episode with geordi and the one where she was turned into a kid both were made to help her feel more like the enterprise could be a home for her. they didn't give me much reason to believe otherwise? i don't care about her leaving, i liked that both her and wesley left starfleet even if the show didn't have the time or capacity to explore it, but i didn't fully believe her reasoning. but i loved every time she was there.

i have probably forgotten. many things. i was in the sun all day and maybe have heat exhaustion. but i'm starting generations in like 10 minutes and i realized i needed to make this post before i watched it. thank you for coming along on this year-long journey of me watching tng. we did it boys

But yeah. Yomi sure does happen in the unnamed growling brand au. Also, concerning how both the homunculi and their human originals are in many cases both somewhat important (sometimes equally so, like in the case of Yakou Times 2), I've been thinking of alt names/nicknames/aliases/you name it for the homunculi. To. Differentiate somehow. Since Yakou & Yakou are for a large chunk of the story doing their epic switcheroos and engaging in acts of trickery Yakou doesn't yet need a diff name to tell him apart from Yakou, so in my mind it's just Yakou Furio & Yakou Tworio. Hmc Martina 100% needs one, and I mean I could just go the easy way and slap her back with the good old Suwaro/Swallow, but I also hc that to be her deadname which uhh sjdfdgufh we'll figure it out guys. Aide/Fake Zilch doesn't even have an actual name anyway and his human og gets fucking digested within the first week, so is Seth, so I might not even bother.......... now Yomi, or, "Yomi" is an important character here so he needs it. I was initially hesistant on settling for this one though because heartworms notably aren't really as much of a concern for humans as they are for their natural hosts, that is dogs (and also cats, bears, ferrets, sea lions but more commonly dogs and other canids you know like they're the main host you get me). HAPPY 5 YEARS TO COCO! Arguably my second favorite Pixar film of all time! I can’t believe it's 5...like that’s crazy…I’ll never forget the first time I went to see it in theaters with my sister, my mom, my grandparents, my aunt and her best friend in Chicago, the whole thing was so amazing! And then like two weeks later I saw it for a second time in my childhood hometown…to this day I still love it so so much, the story, the characters, and the animation are all so beautiful...I really should rewatch it again sometime...

AHHHHHHH YOSHIS ARE IN THE MARIO MOVIE!!! YESSSSSSSS!!! They look just like I hoped they would be! I’m so much more excited for this movie now than I was back in October! Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio released on Netflix just last week on the 9th, and just last week on the 9th is when I watched it! I've heard so many great things about it and I'd never seen a del Toro film before so I thought I'd give it a try! Very charming but also quite dark, it's a really fascinating take on the Pinocchio story that's unlike what I've seen of it before! I think my favorite character ended up being Sebastian the Cricket, he was so fun to watch (and for the record, Ewan McGregor has such charisma in all the roles I've seen him play from Robots to Big Fish. He's great! And this was no exception!) All the voice-acting was very well done and the animation too! I have a huge soft spot for stop motion! I thought every movement made was really amazing. Anyway yeah, check it out if you can cause animation distributed by Netflix always deserves more recognition!

Okay, so before I went on hiatus, @dingdongitsbees was writing a Levi x Reader Hunger Games AU called "Black-eyed Susan" that was AMAZING, like, I had to walk away and take a breather for a bit from the equivalent of Catching Fire cause it was just SO GOOD and the EMOTIONS WERE SO HIGH and I was flipping out over the potential parallel fates to certain characters, but it was so beautifully done, and the characters were rich and made sense and the lore was woven in so wonderfully and UUUGGGHHHH IT WAS AMAZING!!! I don't know if it was finished though cause life got busy and I went on hiatus, and I'm kind of afraid I'm going to pick it back up and discover it is unfinished, sooooooo SORRY IF I JUST RECOMMENDED AN UNFINISHED FIC I AM SUFFERING WITH YOU!!!

🧃share some personal lore you never posted about before

Okay, sooooo not to inadvertently trauma dump a wee bit in a roundabout way, buuuuuuuutttttt...my fic Through the Looking Glass? I was SUPER nervous about posting a lot of those earlier chapters because a lot of Reader's childhood experiences I provided from my own experiences, sooo it was kind of like exposing a nerve to enrich a story/character and praying no one struck it. But it worked out beautifully and it was mostly my anxiety getting to me there worrying about what people would think about those spots specifically, since I never really got anything negative about those bits--frankly I don't think I've seen a single negative comment on that fic besides "PLEASE COME BACK WE MISS YOU AND I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT AND IF THIS GETS RESOLVED--" That kinda thing hahaha, which has been a bit of a relief.

So yeah. I put a lot more of myself in Through the Looking Glass than I normally do for fics. I think more than I ever have for a fic before. Which makes sense since that fic was born from my, I just wish I could pluck Levi up out of that world every now and then and just TAKE CARE OF HIM and give him LOVE AND AFFECTION AND CARE. And I'm relieved and very glad that it worked out well. <3

IIIIIIIIIII don't know????? I mean, I don't pay attention to fandom discourse or whose "right" and "wrong" over opinions enough to know what an "Unpopular" opinion would be, which makes this a bit difficult to answer. I know of a few of my opinions that might deviate a little bit??? Or where I have an EARLY ON fandom opinion that I just kept carrying because I loved it so much???

I knooowwwww that there's still back and forth every now and then about Erwin vs Armin for the serum, even now, but I've always been of the opinion Levi made the right choice in choosing Armin. It took some thought to come to a decision myself, but I think Armin was the right choice for multiple reasons, and believe Erwin was ready to rest and that was a great respect to give to Erwin--its complicated, and something that I know I'll address in AT LEAST one fic, so I won't go into the complexity of that, here.

Hange Didn't Have a Pointless/Shock Value Death. The fuel tanks were damaged by Floch and they needed time to fix it enough to escape and her going to fight the titans headed their way bought them the precious few seconds they needed to escape, otherwise the colossal titans that Hange killed would have crushed the plane and everyone there before they could take off and without her actions the entire world would have been destroyed.

Speaking of Hange, and considering I just used she/her pronouns and I know most people use they/them, I'm gonna also add in this little opinion I've held tight to since I FIRRRRSSTTT joined the AOT fandom. I know a lot of people use they/them pronouns in stories and posts about Hange nowadays, I've used she/her pronouns for FOREVER because when I first FIRST joined the AOT fandom a looooonnngggg time ago, 1) I'll admit I just always assumed she/her, female, she was always female to me, never really had anything to make me think otherwise and I didn't NOTICE any lack of referring to Hange as she/her because I, myself, tend to default to they/them a lot to refer to people, even when speaking of a singular person I'm familiar with, so I thought nothing of it until I started getting into fandom spaces and there were people asking about Hange's gender (Cause this was still pretty early on in the fandom) and then 2) here on tumblr and over on twitter I saw a few discussions/headcanons/fics and such that identified Hange as a transwoman, and I really loved that, and it really stuck in my head, so I kept that headcanon and kept using the she/her pronouns. I get a little self-conscious about it every now and then when I realize just how few people use she/her pronouns with Hange and use they/them instead, but I got really attached to she/her transwoman Hange early on and don't want to relinquish her. So yeah. That's why I use she/her more often than they/them for Hange. Though I try to use they/them when referring to Hange on people's posts that use they/them instead. Sometimes I forget, but that's what I try to do. She/her for my spaces and stories, they/them on other people's posts where they use they/them for Hange.

Listen, I will check out just about anything once, but the thing is, the characters from the universe have to be in character. And i don't mean, write them as well as the original creator, we're all going to have different flavors/tints on the characters when we write them in our styles. It's when the character is so OUT of character that I can't recognize them AS that character that I click away. At least for the main ones you're focusing on. i can forgive more OOC characters that are playing a side character or temporary character to the plot. But the characters the fic is focusing on has to be recognizable as themselves.

Also Mary Sues/Gary Stus. I really don't like Mary Sues/Gary Stus.

u are soooo right about t shirt kon and 90s kon like. everytime i see someone viewing them as separate characters/hating on one something in me dies. as someone who's read all his comics and loves him immensely...they are the same person! all his comics are bad unfortunately and he has good character arcs in both eras thats just the way it is. the true enemy imo is yj cartoon conner..

😭 i mean definitely they can be very different at times but like…not different enough to be unrecognizable(?). altho the retcons and stuff do a Lot to change things (esp the importance of ttk which undoubtedly changes a part of his character ) and to be fair my brain does do a lot with supplying my own hcs/reasons whenever i dont like a creative choice. and yeah, theres like a lot of bad and good in both eras 😔😔😔 i have sooooooo many problems w his 90s solo, but his overall character growth is so interesting, and while my problems with tt03 mostly lie w the writing i enjoy how he’s a tad bit more grounded. and like i said before i enjoy the 2009-2011 era a lot cuz i feel like the spirit of his early humor returned while still following that emotional arc that started in 2003.

a lot of the themes from 90s superboy maybe didnt reach the conclusion i wanted, but im at least glad that the struggle with identity and agency to become your own person outside of anyone’s control or regardless of what is dictated to you remained. it’s like The Main Theme for him or at least one of the major themes, i think. well its just one of the many things i like

honestly i think my favorite characterizations of him though would be the original young justice 1998 comics and the reign of the supermen comics (ROTS is just such a fun and wacky read like i love it sm), and then the boy of steel mini comic. maybe one day ill write a long ass fic about what i’d do with superboy and all the potential arcs his character offers🤷🏻‍♀️

Okay so its been established that phinks is a total dork for hwr reader. And that for one, hwr reader has no idea that phinks is crushing on her. If like in an alternative universe, phink’s feelings are reciprocated…how would that play out? Like what would that dynamic look like? What would Chrollo/Feitan think of it? Sooooooo many questions…

omg at this rate i'm going to make a flowchart of all the extended HWR universes JKGERL I LOVE IT... it's so fun to consider all the various possibilities.

in a world where HWR reader returned phinks' affection, it would mainly come from him not beating around the bush. this man needs to outright state that he wants to go on a date with her or she is not getting it. honestly, it'd probably start from HWR reader wanting to be polite, then slowly coming to see phinks as a potential romantic prospect over time. him interacting with her family would move this process along well. ash would give him their stamp of approval, they'd honestly love big bro phinks.

while chrollo would ultimately let it go for the sake of keeping the spider from falling into chaos, he’d be perplexed. phinks didn’t strike him as HWR reader’s type. if she wasn’t responsive to his flirting but responsive to phinks’, it might hurt his ego a little bit (a lot of bit). he’ll be off brooding in a corner for some time.

I come here for words of wisdom. Every time I read a fanfic about Bakugou being a fuckboy I normally laugh it off because it sounds ridiculous in my mind, although sharing this thought with other people made me realize that some actually think he might be in the future???? So, I want your honest opinion. Not just about that, but I'd genuinely love to know your input on how Bakugou would be in his late-teens, early adulthood, before (for the sake of it) meeting X and settling. Would he sleep around? Would he try for a relationship and fail? What would fail? What would make him settle? Would he really just focus on hero work and that's it? So. Many. Questions.

i was shocked. aghast. completely bewildered. pls i even caved and searched up bakugou fics just to see if everyone else is treating him like that,, and like i dont even know why i did that, because ofc i knew the answer was gonna be yes!! the answer is always yes !!! like i just saw so many fics of him as such a “ooo daddy dom badboy bakugou 🥴🥴” and like why???? bakugou is such a frickin nerd?? and thats sooooooo funny?? whY STRIP HIM OF HIS COMEDIC POTENTIAL ???

but yes yes specifically about bakugou being a fuckboy..... yeah i have no idea where the fuck they get that from. like- did we watch the same show???? sex and especially being naked are such vulnerable things at their core, and they rlly think Mr. Anti-Vulnerability is gonna be the one to sleep around??? to willingly put himself into a vulnerable situation time and time again?? no. pls. c’mon y’all. sometimes i think even todoroki would be more likely.

and just- to sleep around you have to be very comfortable showing interest in other people, over and over and over again. and i just- bakugou doesn’t even admit that his friends are his friends???? and somehow they think that suddenly he’s gonna go around telling people “hey. i like you. and by admitting that to you, i am therefore giving you a slight bit of power over me.”

i- no. he’d never. period, end of story. he would rather be fuckin’ dead. so the answer is no, as he currently is, i cannot for the life of me see why he’d ever become a fuckboy. he just doesn’t have it in him lmaoooooo

ooo but about the what makes him settle question- THANK YOU IVE BEEN DYING TO TALK ABOUT IT.

okay so how i see it, is bakugou is probably totally and completely fine being alone up until his like mid 20’s. sure he thinks maybe it’d be nice to have somebody, but he works so hard that it’s always a fleeting feeling. but then he gets a little older, settles into his spot on the rankings (#3 btw, im soRRY kats but its the truth!!) and watches all his friends get into meaningful relationships. and then, a few more years down the line (think late 20’s/ early 30’s) he’ll be sitting back and being like “shit. i don’t have anybody like that. somebody who’s just for me. who’d pick me first always.”

and i think that is what he wants most of all. i mean, he’s clearly chock-full of insecurities related to that idea, and i cant imagine him ever settling without that need being fufilled. like, i think eventually he’ll probably abandon the idea of being #1 hero, but he’ll still keep that dream of being #1 somehow. so once he finds somebody that always has his back, always puts up with his shit and still loves him at the end of it?? still looks at him with stars in their eyes day after day??? pls. mans is putty and will never even dream of leaving

but that being said- i dont think he’s gonna find The One on first try. i think he’ll be aiming for that, but i cant see it working out. even when he starts seriously dating around his mid 20s, i think he’ll still be too caught up with his hero work. it’ll take him a good few years and one/two failed relationships to finally find a balance that works for him and whoever he ends up with
