I could never read those booktok-popular "dark romances" for. well. many reasons. BUT the biggest of all is that the instant a man wrongs a woman in a book I want his ass dead. They try to paint it as misogynistic by saying how sjm is looked down on because of her fairy books while male authors are met with cheers.

It's because her writing isn't all that good and it's known to have a bunch of fairy porn in it. People aren't trying to insult the series by saying that because it does.

People even make jokes about "reading my fairy smut!", are you serious?

It's not misogynistic at all because there are many female authors who have amazing, wonderful works that deserve to be adapted because it's that good. Hell, many have and more to come in the future.

Look at the hunger games, game of thrones, lord of the rings, etc. Read their books and you know that they deserve to be adapted.

You give criticism on sjm or just outright say you think her writing is bad, you'll hear the cries of "MISOGYNY! YOU'RE A MISOGYNIST!"

It ain't all that good. It's like a reality TV show; it's enjoyable but still sucks. And I enjoy a good reality show, love the drama.
