i know astrology is fake but i'm not too keen on how a lot of people on this website seem to be clowning on it as a hobby a bit too hard. i swear the woman who thinks it's neat how she and her friends with the same sun sign are all similar isn't trying to say that you are who you are born as and there is nothing you can do to change it. it's a hobby. an interest. what happened to finding meaning and joy in the small things. does it affect you if someone enjoys tarot reading or crystals. does it make you upset someone has interests that they enjoy.

Genshin opinion to get it off my chest but I saw the leaks on the next upcoming character and dude I truly hate Natlan what the hell......I liked the fantasy vibe of the world, but Natlan is just fucking around and being so modern and unserious and killing the vibe that I specifically enjoyed. I don't find the movement mechanics fun, the Nightsoul mechanic annoys me to death, I struggle to connect to the cast the way I could with the other nations...I'm clinging along for Snezhnaya but I'm very concerned where things will go, the sunk cost fallacy is deep but Natlan is making me consider looking for something else. Maybe Infinity Nikki.

There it was again, the whispers, the incessant singing that calls her from the shadows. It is louder now and its song more violent, as if the drums of war were hot with the beating hearts of those who live below. 

She doesn’t have much time left. 

It is getting harder every day, but she needs to shake it off. 

“Let’s pause here for lunch,” Eryn says, getting down from her horse and dropping her backpack on the floor. “I’ll fetch water.”

Taking only the two waterskins, the mage doesn’t wait for her companion’s reply. She turns on her heels and descends a slope towards a body of water. The whispering follows her on the breeze, underneath her hair and into her clothing. Shut up, she thinks. Shut up shut up shut up.

Her breathing quickens as the shadows grow around her. They’re too close now. She tries to focus on the path in front of her, on the water glistening under bright sunlight, but her chest is heavy. She is not sure if it was a rock or if her feet gave up, but faster than she can realise, she trips and falls on her knees. 

Where am I? Eryn is not sure if she spoke it out loud, being muffled by the choir of darkspawn beneath the earth. If she digs the shore with her fingers, will she see them? If she screams, will they hear her? Will they catch her scent? Will they know where she is? Do they know where she is? Where am I…?

She lifts her head, searching for the light in direct rejection of the darkness. Then she sees it. She knows this shore, knows these waters. This is Lake Calenhad, and towering in the centre of it is the Circle where she was raised. The whispering runs down her spine as the memories of the cold stone of the circle walls catch up with her. She can’t go back there, not again, not ever. But if she had never left it, there would be silence now. They wouldn’t be speaking to her. No. No, she won’t go back. She won’t—but then, where should she go? To the darkness? Down the deep, deep roads to her death? After all this time, all she has done, the people that she found and that found her, is this really what fate has in store for her? Oblivion? No. No, no, no, no!

A humming breaks the cacophony in her mind. It freezes time, pulls her out of the water and breathes life into her again. It is followed by… a lute? Opening the eyes she did not know she had closed, Eryn can hear the wind on the canopies around, and the lake water crashing against the rocks, pebbles rolling here and there. She feels the warmth of the sun, and turns her attention back to the hill she came from. She sees the smoke of a fire, and catches the smell of wild mushrooms on a pan. 

Eryn stands up, takes a minute to clean the dirt off her dress and fetches water. When she arrives back at the newly improvised camp, Zevran is resting against a tree. He sings an old Antivan song while his fingers dance on the strings of his lute—which he insisted on buying years ago, on their first trip to his home country. 

With his hair loose and his shirt half opened, he smiles at her, and Eryn can only catch a few words of the lyrics. Warm, light, glow, amor. She really has to practice her antivan. 

“Lunch is almost ready,” he says during a break in the song. “Are you alright, mi amor?”

Eryn can’t help but smile back. She puts the waterskins on the ground beside the rest of their stuff, and she feels lighter. Much lighter than what two litres of water should weigh. 

“I am,” she joins him by the fire and rests her head on his shoulder. Closing her eyes, she feels his arm moving ever so slightly as he continues playing the lute. “I am now.” 

When Zevran kisses the top of her head, it is as if the shadows never existed around her. At least, just for this while.

Oh I forgot

Last night there was also a little boy (around 6 maybe) dressed up as a cop walking around with his mom dressed up as an inmate and he was in full character, stomping behind her with a baton looking like he was ready to crack her in the shins with it. She stopped in front of my grandpa's house and said "they're handing out candy at this one!" And he impatiently stood in front of her trying to wave her on and when she kept insisting on getting candy he yelled "you're testing my patience!" 😂 It was really cute. I didn't get to give them candy. Now that I think about it, neither of them had a bag or bucket. I don't think they were trick or treating

Oh which also reminds me of the Michael Myers that also wasn't trick or treating and was just going around the block doing The Walk. That was cool

kaname (kanamie :3) here is based off my old ogmeru hcs back in the day and i love thinking abt him as the 'glue' to the group in a way?? hes got a very big presence, loud and proud, tho deeply insecure... hes got the airheaded trait so hes always in the clouds in his own world, can be stubborn and hard to work with. but he is very cute so its fine. he is best friends with mayoi and has a crush on tatsumi... also hes a popstar!

tatsumi here in my game is so funny bc he keeps acting in character, aka, chaotic as fuck!! he loves the foods everyone hates, says he swallows giant MP candies in one go, definitely has the ability to kill whenever he wants but simply chooses not to which is somehow scarier . Even tho i gave him the kind trait, hes got threatening :) vibes, yknow. he has loves both mayoi and kaname #polyamory. cleric!

rinne has the laid back trait, and he hates literally every single food for some reason?? 🥲 im sorry man. i dont have him set up for anyone rn, but i might do something with niki or develop his relationship w hiiro later on as the story progresses. i have niki and hiiro as npcs but im planning to use them for when my main team eventually gets kidnapped lol. hes a thief

finally, mayoi!! my main chara and hero, he loves and cares for his team so much. esp kaname! he feels very strongly abt him and wants him to be happy and safe. sometimes falls into ocd thought spirals because he convinces himself his genuine love and affection for him is smth perverse and wrong. but he understands how his brain is and knows hes just being 🫠. anyway hes a mage !!!! and lowkey has a giant crush on rinne too

i definitely want to turn mayoi into a cat or an imp when the option comes up. so maybe my story will change entirely when that happens bc the thought of imp mayoi wanting to protect this cutesy popstar kaname is super adorable to me. plus imp mayoi and cleric tatsumi!! YES!!!!!!!!!! i love it so much

now some more misc rambles ... mayoi and kaname randomly got mad at each other and now the thought of kaname getting >:| easily and throwing out canon kaname style 'insults' is so ... i love u. i can never be mad at you. tho mayoi would probably be so sad and then kaname would be sad too (shoots myself)

hannibal's with franklyn, just finishing up an appt that we see him practically rolling his eyes through. franklyn is rude, and also painfully boring. he just has an anxiety issue! ugh 🙄

then jack's in the private exit waiting to greet him, and pulls out his fbi badge when confronted. hannibal turns to franklyn and says he's excused... unless, of course, this is about him

WITHERS COULDN'T FIND HER.

like for the love of god you can like a negative character development ending, i.e the "bad" ending without trying to twist it like its secretly a good ending.

you are so disingenuous in how much you need g*d!Gale or ascended!ast**rion to be a morally good choice for you to make that you'll treat the extinguishing of lae'zel's life as only ~questionable or try to justify sh*rheart as well its not so bad when it's like did you have your eyes open at all during this character's storyline. genuinely. why would it be bad for a character who has a divine shock collar that gives her unbearable pain every time she committed wrongthink by being herself (and yet she still keeps committing wrongthink for a few decades bc that's just who she is), to then shackle herself to the one who gave her the divine shock collar, esp when one of the major steps towards that is made when she's completely uninformed and just thinks she wants to do that and isn't really aware that the goddess she's about to kill the gay aasimar for had her kidnapped as a child and have regularly had her brutalise her parents and wipe her memory since then for like over 30 years. you can enjoy evilheart but that doesn't really stop it from being the worse ending in terms of how happy she is.

Like, imagine calling it "the endings where characters get what they want" and then saying its bad writing if they're all bad. all that means is that you fundamentally misunderstood the text bc that is an extremely shallow read lol bc none of these people are experiencing the level of contentment they do in their (and i know this is a very scary word but its okay i promise) good endings.

Imo while yoy experience similar things, eat the same foods, laugh at ainilar jokes, itll never be exactly the same as the first time. Nothing ever is. Everyone is constantly changing, veiws and perspextives and ideas, and the world is constantly changing to reflect this. Time moved foward, people changed and others left, and thus it is different.

Like talking wirh yoy is still the same but its still different? Im older, my dreams have shifted, we play stardew together. Stuff like that. Cause yk. Time only ever moves foward, never back, never holding still.
