the miya household is always the go-to household for all kinds of celebrations alike. you name it: birthdays, anniversaries, friday night dinners – check, check, check.
atsumu has always grown up in a home where his mom would host the parties for all her grown-up friends, and he’d always be the type of teenager to hide away in his room until the last of the guests finally leave.
it was a silly thing to do looking back on it now, but that was the old miya household.
in the new miya household (population: you and your husband), the two of you can’t just hide away in your broom closet until the last of the guests leave — it is your apartment after all.
at first, it was the big things: msby jackal’s celebration of their first tournament win (where hinata broke a window because he claims bokuto pushed him into it) or akaashi’s job promotion party (where the champagne bottle was so unfortunately aimed that when the corkscrew came flying, it hit the other non-broken window).
two broken windows later, it eventually died down to the little things: small get-togethers, a friend too intoxicated to drive needing a place to stay, or one of your favorites: friday night dinners.
“we’re home!”
there’s the sound of shuffling keys and shoes being taken off at the doorway, rustling of brown paper bags and footsteps.
you pop your head out from the kitchen and it isn’t a surprise at all to you when you see all four of your best friends (one being your husband) standing by your door way, all adorned with cheeky smiles and chinese takeout.
you call to them, “coats here, everybody!”
hinata goes over to you first, still as sweet as ever, and gives you a tight embrace (the same one he gives you every friday night), and you take his coat with a light smile on your face.
bokuto gives you his coat next, paired with an embrace of his own, your smile widens as you immediately recognize the coat you bought him for christmas last year, well and taken care of.
sakusa isn’t wearing a coat or a jacket tonight but still, he approaches you next to the coat stand anyway, and he embraces you just for seeing you again tonight, saying “thank you for having us”.
when you married atsumu, you didn’t realize you weren’t only marrying into his family, but his friends as well.
“you guys just missed samu, he dropped by for a weekly restock.” you tell them, pointing to the plastic bag on the table filled to the brim with the onigiri you’ve learned to love so much.
shoyo plops down on his usual spot on the sofa, “man, i wish onigiri miya personally delivered to my house too.”
“not to mention free of charge.” you add – proud.
he sinks deeper into his seat, “that’s just not fair.”
you seat farthest from tv, on the edge of the table and by the armrest, a seat empty next to yours as you wait for your husband.
“sorry sho,” you shrug, not sorry at all, smug smile on your face and you say, “it’s simply the perks of having the owner of onigiri miya as your brother.”
“that is such a lie.” atsumu rolls his eyes, and he takes his assigned seat next to you, hand immediately finding yours once he gets close enough. “i am also his brother — twin, even! — and i do not get half as much the perks you get.”
“well.” sakusa sits across from you, “i can understand that.”
and bokuto, in between sakusa and hinata, nods, “yep.”
“i can’t believe i’m getting bullied in my own damn home.” atsumu grumbles, and he stabs his broccoli on his plate with a fork.
you tease him, “you can’t?”
the rest of the evening feels warm. the windows are open to let in the fresh air of the streets of japan, the hustling and bustling of the bypassers outside your apartment building easily drowned out by the warm conversation shared in the warm flat.
( “no more hoisin sauce?” bokuto asks, digging around the stack of empty paperbags, fork in his mouth as he talks.
sakusa replies, barely looking up from the movie on the tv set, “sorry, finished it.”
and bokuto says, casually, “i’ll bring some over tomorrow. you guys need a restock anyway.” )
the five of you, sat down on the living room in front of the television, sharing mindlessly stories about your day, laughter and insults and compliments shared as food is passed around.
atsumu takes the red peppers from your dish as you laugh at something hinata says, he remembers - always - red peppers make you sneeze, so it goes unsaid that he takes them.
he does this so often that sometimes he doesn’t even realize it. he does this so often that he’s probably done it over a hundred times by now — like it’s part of him, like a habit.
you take some of your chow mein and place it on his plate, he doesn’t ask you for any, but you give him some anyway. you don’t even look at him as you do so, like it’s completely second nature for your hand to give him some of his favorite noodles and you don’t even have to think about it — like it’s part of you, like a habit.
“so, what time’s the game tomorrow?” you ask, and suddenly he’s out of his thoughts and back on the living room couch.
hinata looks to you, excited, “are you coming? it’s been so long since you last came to watch us.”
“well, depends on the time,” you tell them, “i’ve got a study group tomorrow in the morning.”
“study group?”
“i know right,” your shoulders fall, “our gen chem professor had us divided into study groups so we could easily catch up on her lessons.”
atsumu shrugs, “so? ditch ‘em.”
“i wish.” you sigh, “they’re the kind of people i just know wouldn’t have let me sit with them at the lunch table in high school.”
“oh, i know those people.” shoyo shakes his head, “had those people everywhere i went in junior high.”
you look at atsumu, “but you probably could have sat with them, you’ve got an aura like that — like you could be cool — but you’re not.”
that makes him roll his eyes, “who’s not cool? i am the coolest one in this table — and for yer information, i wouldn’t sit at any table ya weren’t welcome at.”
(sakusa nods at you, and bokuto says, “same here!” and hinata says, “me too!”)
“matter of fact,” you husband, offended at your doubt for him, continues, “i would flip that goddamn table.”
(and sakusa nods again, and bokuto says, “yup!” and hinata says, “definitely!)
your face feels warm, and you feel stupid for even bringing it up.
“you guys are silly.” you’re not as loud as earlier, but still, you say, “thanks.” and you bite back a smile.
“so…” shoyo grins at you, “ditch ‘em?”
“ditch ‘em!” bokuto repeats.
and for a second all of you look at sakusa, his turn to speak apparently, and he sighs, defeated, shoulders falling and he relents, and says, “fine. ditch ‘em.”
the three other guys cheer loudly and you roll your eyes.
“well, that makes four of us.” atsumu tells you, proud, “you’re outnumbered, honey.”
“fine.” you’re defeated, “i’ll ditch ‘em and come watch you guys play.” and the table erupts in cheers again, and you feel your heart become so full.
atsumu kisses your cheek and you swat him away.
“i’ll text natsu that you’re coming, she’s been pestering me over and over again when you’ll come next,” shoyo tells you, bright smile on his face.
bokuto nods, “i gotta tell akaashi too, maybe we can get everyone there like a reunion or something!”
and this makes you laugh, because, “you guys are acting like i haven’t come to watch you guys play in forever.”
and sakusa tells you, “it has been forever.”
“well, i guess a reunion or something would be kinda nice? we can have everyone come back here, bring out a few drinks.” you think out loud, relenting to the pleas of your oldest friends, and you can’t hold back a smile even if you wanted to.
“if anyone breaks a goddamn window in my home, everyone is getting charged the repair bill.”
the night ends quicker than you want it to, suddenly it’s 10 pm and the warm night starts to get colder.
“thank you for dinner, miyas.” bokuto tells you, grinning ear to ear as you walk him to the doorway, a barrage of shoes laid out on the floor, reminding you what a full house you have tonight.
you hand him his coat and his hat, and he embraces you tightly, one that you will never not return.
hinata comes up to you next, “thank you for dinner and please please please come tomorrow.”
“yes sho, i will be there.” you tell him lightly, and he embraces you as well (the same one he gives you every friday night).
the last to come up to you is sakusa, his hands already in his pockets, eyes tired and all. he doesn’t have a coat or a jacket, but he comes up to you anyway.
“thank you for having us.” he tells you, like he always does, and he gives you a short kiss on your right temple, like he always does, “it’s good to see you.”
you pat his arm, “you say that every friday night, omi.”
“what? no kiss for me?” atsumu calls from the side, arms crossed over his chest.
and sakusa replies, eyes narrowing, “never.”
(they have this conversation every single friday night.)
and just like that, all three of your guests for the night have left, leaving behind only two pairs of shoes left by the doorway — yours and your husband’s.
atsumu makes his way to you, his arms finding your waist immediately as he pulls you into his embrace, hugging you like it’s all he’s ever done correctly.
the apartment is quiet now with just you and him, and he loves this as much as he loves you.
“finally,” he tells you, smiling wantonly, “just us two.”
you smile back at him, “we have so many kids.”
and he nods, “even more tomorrow.”
your apartment, your home, it isn’t anything impressive, really. it’s not big or expensive or fancy, but for some reason, it’s always been the go-to place for everyone to have drinks at, for dinners to be shared, for windows to be broken.
“you really okay with that? the reunion thing here?” your husband asks you, his tone gentle, “its okay if you’re not, we can just cancel on ‘em. have the night to ourselves.”
you raise a brow, teasing, “and do what exactly?”
atsumu gives you a knowing grin, “i’ve got a list in mind.”
you laugh, “i bet you do.”
he comes closer to your face, “i can cross one off on it right now.”
and he kisses you then, the same way he does every single day of his life, the same way he plans to for a million years more.
you feel his smile melting into his kisses.
then he pulls away, smiling at you, voice gentle, cheeks pink, and heart full, “thank you for dinner, miya.”
you laugh again, and with the same amount of gentleness, you say back, “thank you for dinner, miya.”
atsumu knows you could never be unloved by him — you are too tangled in his mind, in his soul that you might as well take his heart entirely — it’s already full of you anyway, it has been since the day he’s met you.
“and no, we are not cancelling on them.” you tell him, pulling away, “i miss our friends and i know you do too.”
he tells you, “fine.” and he pulls you back in, nose close to yours, wide grin on his face as he takes you.
he wants to kiss you again, but to be fair, he wants to do that all of the time.
you give him a smile, “i’ll let you cross another thing off that list of yours if you do the dishes.”
and he groans, “you know omi already did them.”
“man, we have got to get lazier friends.”
“well, we can always call that study group of yours.”
(the two of you say friends, but it feels a whole lot more like family.)
together you and atsumu create a home filled with flowers, kindness, cozy pillows, and loud music. in your halls there is rest, good sex, good sleep, books, and dancing. there is space to be you, there is space to be him, there is space to be be the two of you, and there is love, there is love, there is love.

pairing: Michael Robinavitch x Senior Resident!Reader
wordcount: 1.8k
warnings: angst, reader is purposefully petty, mentions of robby being an asshole, age gap, mentions of injury (care pile up, car crash), mentions of death
synopsis: Robby loses his temper on you, and you're not quick to forgive, then tragedy strikes, and Robby's not answering his phone
note: some of you may notice that I took down the smut drabble I posted yesterday, I wasn't happy with it, so I took it down, but please accept this in its place. there will be a part two!!
!! not proofread so apologies for any mistakes !!
I’m your attending, and you’re my resident. Act like it.
Robby had spoken those words over a week ago.
It had been in the middle of a close to mass casualty event, a blood soaked emergency room crowded with victims from one of the worst car pile ups you’d ever seen.
You had never performed an emergency c-section before, especially not on someone who had been actively bleeding out. It would’ve taken too long to call an attending in for help, so OB walked you through it over the phone, Garcia assisted, and both the mother and the baby had made it through (relatively) safe and sound. It had been a victory, a save worthy of celebration in the form of too many cocktails, until Robby found out.
He’d given you the grace of scolding you away from prying ears, but that hadn’t lessened the burn.
Robby had been too harsh, way too harsh.
You lacked discipline, didn’t respect the chain of command, didn’t respect him. When it came down to it, you were too much of a cowboy, too flexible with the rules of medicine. You were ‘too much like Abbot in the worst ways’.
Tears had threatened to spill, burning and insistent, but you’d blinked them back.
You had avoided his eyes when you’d told him that you had saved more patients today than any other doctor, that you had been the one to pick up the slack when others had faltered, that he had no right to pick and choose when he thought you were qualified enough to handle things on your own.
You had successfully avoided him for the rest of your shift.
Day One
Meet me out front before your shift. Please.
The message comes through just as you leave your apartment building.
You scare the living daylights out of a flock of pigeons with how hard you slam your door.
You don’t respond to his messages, but you do wait outside the doors to the ED, ten minutes early to your shift, pacing back and forth like a mad woman.
Robby walks up five minutes later, headphones in and sunglasses on. Usually that sight would make your heart flutter, but in this moment, it infuriates you.
“Do you need something, Dr. Robinavitch?” You keep your voice clip, painfully professional.
He flinches, but tucks his sunglasses into the front of his hoodie. “I owe you an apology.”
“Yes, you do.”
Robby sighs. “Tensions were high, I was struggling to keep it together, and I took it out on you. It was completely unfair, and I’m sorry.”
It’s completely genuine, almost heartbreakingly sincere. Somehow, you still don’t completely forgive him.
“Thank you, Doctor. I appreciate it.” Not really. “I guess I’ll see you inside.”
You brush past him before he can get another word in.
Robby follows you through the ER, hot on your heels, but you don’t turn around. You ignore the strange look from Lupe, let the door almost smack him in the face on the way through, skip past your usual morning debrief with Dana and head right towards the nearest patient.
You should forgive him, you know you should. It’s not reasonable to stay so angry about something that had been spoken in the middle of a crisis, but you were fed up. Robby never questioned Langdon or Whitaker as much as he questioned you and Samira.
You were beyond capable, better than most that had come through this program. Abbot had known that the moment he’d met you, and you thought Robby knew, but maybe he didn’t. He deserved to be ignored, shown the error of his ways, at least for the rest of your shift.
Maybe it’s cruel, but you’re feeling cruel today.
Day Three
He walks through the door with two coffee’s. One completely black, his order, and one with two creams and two sugars, your order.
“Abbot told me you came in early this morning, figured you didn’t have time for a coffee.” It’s a casual lie, an excuse to talk. You never drink coffee before noon.
“Thank you, Dr. Robinavitch.” You don’t take the cup from his hand, don’t even look him in the eye.
Once again, it’s cruel. But you’re still feeling hurt, inadequate.
Robby pushed his way between you and your desk, nudging your chair back just far enough to step between your knees.
“What can I do to earn your forgiveness?” His eyes are unbelievably warm, and it’s almost enough to make you crack.
“You’re forgiven.” You shrug, reaching around him to grab your coffee. “I’m just working on my ‘respect problem’ you had so much to say about.”
“Buttercup, I-”
“It’s Doctor,” You interrupt, pushing up from your chair till the two of you are almost nose to nose. “or my first name, or nothing. Respect goes both ways”
Robby doesn’t back down, and neither do you. It’s tense, probably awkward for many of the nearby bystanders, but it’s the closest he’s been to you in days. He smells incredible, spices, leather, and the slightest hint of antiseptic . He always smells good, but something about being upset with him seems to elevate it.
“Pull it together, you two.” Dana calls out, a phone pinned between her ear and shoulder. “Incoming trauma, two minutes out.”
“On it.” Robby responds, his eyes not once leaving yours. “Buttercup’s leading.”
You all but stomp towards the ambulance bay, annoyance weighing down your shoulders.
“Am I actually leading this, or are you going to take over the minute the patient comes through?”
“Oh, this is all you.” Robby hands are harsh as they tie the back of your gown. “I’m not even gloving up.”
“Let's see how long that lasts.”
Robby, surprisingly, stays true to his word. He hovers by the door, hands behind his back, and doesn't question your decisions. You stabilize the patient in record time, handing them off to the nurses with a strange sense of satisfaction boiling in your stomach.
You turn towards Robby, a cocky smirk on your lips as you tear off your gloves. “See how incredible I am when I’m not being pestered by questions?”
Robby laughs, rough and deep.
“Believe me,” He whispers under his breath, his eyes locked on you as you practically strut out of the trauma room. “I’m well aware of how incredible you are.”
Day Five
“I’m covering Parker on the night shift for the next couple days.”
Robby pauses. “And who’s going to be covering you?”
“You have Langdon, Collins, Mckay, and Mohan, not to mention King, Santos, Javadi, and Whitaker. You don’t need me here.”
“Sure, but I want you here.”
You frown. “No you don’t. I’m not being nice to you this week.”
“No, you’re not,” Robby agrees. “But that doesn’t mean I want you gone.”
“I appreciate that,” You do, really. “But I want to be gone for a little bit.”
“If Abbot were here he’d be telling us to talk out our problems.”
You laugh. “Then let’s be glad he’s not.”
Day Seven
Two days later, you’re somehow back where you started, covered in blood, surrounded by patients in need of treatment, but Robby’s not there, unreachable, actually, and it’s driving you insane.
Abbot tells you a transport crashed through a nearby cafe, decimated the entire building and grievously injured around thirty people. You ask the name of the cafe out of pure curiosity, and Abbot says The Filter. It’s ridiculously overpriced for drinks that aren’t even that good, but it’s Robby’s favorite.
Every sunday night since you met him, Robby has sat in one of the window seats of that cafe, drinking a cup of expensive tea, and decompressing before heading home. And tonight is sunday night, Robby  just handed his patients over to Abbot, and bid you both goodbye before heading for the same cafe that had just been taken out by a transport, and he’s not answering his phone.
You’ve been unbelievably immature all week, taken out your frustrations on him, and now he might be gone. He might’ve died thinking you hated him.
Medical work is done through deep breaths and the threat of tears. You check every patient's face for too long, hoping not to recognise his features beneath the blood and debrief. He doesn’t come through the ambulance bay, and he doesn’t call.
Once all the patients are stable, Abbot sends you out for air and you don’t fight him. You shed your gown and gloves, slipping your sweater back on, and wander through the maze of gurneys till the fresh air hits your face.
Your throat is so tight you can hardly breath, and still, the screen of your phone is blank. No missed calls, no texts, not even an email.
You can hear the sound of feet scuffing on pavement, but you don’t look up. It’s probably a paramedic returning to their rig, a nurse coming out for a smoke break, a-
“Did you guys get everything handled, or do you still need help in there?”
It’s Robby’s voice, rough, and warm, and so familiar it makes you want to cry, and you do.
“You’re…” Your voice breaks. He’s in front of you, standing tall and completely intact, his brows furrowed in concern and confusion when he catches sight of the tears streaming down your face.
“What happened? Are you okay?”
You can only respond in sobs, your chest aching as the tears you’d been forcing back all night finally come free. Robby pulls you against him, his face buried in your hair as he whispers quiet hushes. You cling to him, press your head to his chest and cry even harder when you hear the steady beat of his heart.
“I thought you were dead.” Your words come out in a hoarse whisper, muffled against the fabric of his shirt.
“Why would I be dead?”
“The transport crashed through the cafe you go to every Sunday, and you weren’t answering your phone.” You choke back another sob, desperate to get your words out. “I thought you were going to die thinking I was mad at you.”
“Oh… Oh, I'm so sorry.” He holds you tighter, running a hand through your hair in an attempt to calm you, but it only makes you worse.
“You have nothing to apologise for, I was being ridiculous.” You pull away, wiping your nose on your sleeve.
“That’s not ridiculous, I would’ve gone down the same road.” Robby keeps his hands on your shoulders, reluctant to let go of you.
You look up at him, tears brimming your eyes, but you blink them away. “I’m sorry.”
Robby smiles, far too fondly for how you’re guessing you look right now. “I know.”
You stare at each other in a few seconds of comfortable silence before speaking again. “Everything’s mostly handled inside, we just have to get our shit together and prepare for the rest of the night.”
“I’ll come inside and help.”
“You don’t need to.” You try to argue, but it’s half-hearted.
“I know,” Robby nods, his hand lifting to wipe a few stray tears from your cheek. “But I want to.”

imagining rafe finding out another man been buying things for reader and him losing it
Tumblr media
warnings: dealer!rafe, jealousy/possessiveness, unprotected sex, rough handling, choking, arguing, mentions of sex work/stripping, slight dumbification
a/n: thank you so much for this request anon!! i had a similar prompt to this one but i wasn’t sure how to word it lol. join my private community today for girly advice and talks! let me know if you’d like an invitation ♡
it was subtle at first— rafe would see you waltz into barry’s trailer late at night with a brand new pair of pleasers, leaving behind a trail of perfume that wasn’t your signature scent. you were getting your hair done more often, even your nails started changing more frequently. he really took notice one day when barry had left to go run some errands, foolishly leaving you two alone together. rafe had your knees pressed into your chest, your pretty pedicured feet rocking with each of his thrusts as the pendant on your anklet glittered underneath the dim lighting of your room, the small detail instantly catching rafe’s attention.
he looked down at the little thing, a silver playboy bunny charm dangling from the dainty chain. “h-hey, when did you get this?” he cursed under his breath, pressing a kiss to the back of your calf as you cried out from the feeling of his pubic bone slamming down on your sensitive bud. your heart dropped at the question, your cheeks heating as rafe fixed his eyes on your face. “oh, nothing! s’just a little gift one of my regulars got for me..” you moaned, taking your bottom lip between your teeth as rafe’s jaw clenched.
he was definitely mad now.
picking up his pace, he reached down and squeezed your cheeks together, forcing you to look up at him. “what the fuck do you mean one of your ‘regulars’ are you fucking this guy?” rafe was livid, considering he had already told you he wanted you to quit dancing at the club since he pretty much funded you and bought you whatever you wanted without hesitation. attempting to get out of his grip, rafe only tightened his hold on your face, his eyebrows pinching together as you struggled to find your words. “hmphh— no! r-rafe, i’m not fucking him!”
he swallowed thickly, letting go of your cheeks only to wrap his hand around your throat instead. “so why is he buying you gifts and shit?” rafe said through gritted teeth, “what is he getting you that i can’t?” you knew rafe was just mad because he felt threatened, the thought of another man spoiling you and making you happy with their money instead of his pissed him off like no other. “he just puts some extra money in my pocket, that’s all.. plus a little bit of interest..” you looked over at your vintage purse collection, rafe following your line of vision.
what used to be like six bags sitting in the corner of your room, had now grown into an easy twenty, the evidence of your claims making him pull out of you with a hiss. “you’re fucking joking, y/n. you’re letting another man buy his way with you?” you couldn’t help but feel exposed, rafe’s demeaning tone making you want to curl in on yourself. “i’m not letting anyone ‘buy’ their way with me, asshole. except you, but clearly i’m sooo wrong for that.” you scoffed, pulling your sheets over yourself to hide your body from rafe’s view.
“i didn’t say you were wrong for that, you dummy. what i’m mad about is the fact that you’re still working at pink sugar when i told you to leave that place a long ass time ago. why are you still there?” rafe was quick to get his boxers back on, his eyebrows furrowing in frustration as he plopped down at the edge of your bed. “instead of questioning me, you should ask barry why he hasn’t moved us out of this shit hole yet,” you sat up against the wall, “you and barry make all of this money but we’re still in the same spot! i do what i do so that i can get out of this fucking trailer, rafe.”
you were right, and rafe knew it. as much as he had been telling your brother to at least get a nicer place for y’all, your brother always put the money back into his pawn shop where it barely made any profit. rafe looked back at you, a mix of both sadness and irritation written all over your face. “if a man is buying me gifts and giving me money, essentially allowing me to get out of my situation, then i’m going to do what i have to do. the gifts are just tokens of appreciation for my time. and no, i’m not having sex with this guy. he’s a lonely loser who makes way too much money for himself who just wants to blow it. i’m not gonna say no to that.”
rafe listened to you carefully, his hard gaze softening as he reached out to stroke your legs under your sheets. “look.. i want you to pack your stuff and stay with me then. if you let me take care of you— not just spoil you and buy you stuff, but really let me cover everything, you know i’ll do it. you’ll be out of this trailer and you could leave the club for good, i don’t want none of this dancing shit keeping you from me anymore.” your heart was racing in your chest, everything you’ve ever wanted now offering itself to you at your feet. “but what about barry?” you sighed, allowing rafe to come up and wrap his arms around your shoulders.
“he’ll get over it, babe. i’m sure he’ll be more thankful than anything to know that you’re not in that environment anymore. you know your brother is a simple dude, all he needs is this trailer and a cold case of beers in the fridge and he’s happy.” you laughed softly at his words, your cheek resting against his chest. “i promise i’ll make him fix up the trailer so you don’t have to worry about him over here. i’ll clear out the yard and install a new ac unit if it makes you feel better, does that sound good?” you nodded, pressing a kiss to rafe’s knuckles. “yes, please. he’s too stubborn do it himself.”

HEESEUNG
before meeting any of you properly, people are already sure that you are taken. of course, they assume that you are each other’s lover without having to check twice. for the sole reason that they often get a sight of the two of you together at parties— where he acts like your boyfriend.
there is a very simple explanation to that ; guys hit on you a lot and he doesn’t like to witness this at all. so he decided, on his own, that he would be your fake boyfriend in order to protect your from any other men that thought of talking to you. you don’t complain, he is a very good boyfriend plus boys do tend to bother you too much.
for instance, tonight a random man is talking to you and won’t get the hint. therefore, your knight in shining armor steps in. he takes off his jacket as he walks towards you then puts it on your shoulders. he rests his hands on your waist after, pulling you closer, and under the stranger’s widened eyes, he leans down to your ear, kisses your cheek, “is he bothering you, sweet angel?”
JAY
you met him in kindergarten, when you were both two apples tall and half. as long as you remember, he has always been by your side. he has always been the one to jump in when you fell on the ground and started crying in the sandbox. he has been the one to defend you against mean middle schoolers. he was always the one guiding you through the crowded high school halls.
your best friend has always been protective of you. since the beginning of your friendship, he has felt as if he needed to take care of you— to make his own heart feel at ease. his habits has only grown more and more intimate as the time passed by. he cooks lunch and dinner for you because he knows that sometimes you forget, he drives you anywhere you need like your personally chauffeur, he pays for most of your stuffs.
he is really beyond happy to do the most ridiculous things for you, as long as he can take care of you. “i can do it on my own—” you start as he starts kneeling down. he cuts you immediately, taking your shoelaces between his fingers, “i know, but let me take care of you.”
JAKE
it originally started as a drunken game, a silly thing that would never happen again. the first time it happened was a party, under the heavy influence of alcohol, your friends decided to make you all play seven minutes in heaven. and of course, due to the sadistic universe, the bottle had to point to your best friend when it was your turn to spin it. it is not a secret that you made out for the entirety of the given time in that closet.
you both agreed to never do it again, that it was just for the fun of the game. but the feeling of his tongue in your mouth didn’t leave your head for weeks and he couldn’t stop biting his lower lip— in hope that it would feel the same as when you sucked his lower lip that night. it was obvious, at the way your eyes would dart to each other’s lips that you wanted to kiss again.
he lets his desire win after a month, and he thinks he deserves a prize for waiting that long. he kisses you during what is supposed to be a study session and you let him do it, you kiss him back with as much passion. “fuck,” his sighs into your mouth. “i missed you so much.”
SUNGHOON
as everyone else in the world, he feels attacked whenever anyone that isn’t him goes over his phone— or even when they do something as simple as peeking over his shoulder while he is on it. although he has absolutely nothing to hide, no one is allowed to touch his phone.
though, when he is asked about it, he can’t really explain why you can do it. it’s just different, okay? everything related to you is slightly different than when it’s related to others. “gimme your phone,” you don’t ask, but order and he obeys. he gives you his phone without hesitation, without asking you why.
has it gone as far as your face is saved in his face id, perhaps, but there is nothing wrong about that. he is too busy staring at your face to notice that you are going into instagram, down to his private messages. at the grin you make when you see a message from a girl he denied to like multiple times, he speaks, “i’ll block her.”
SUNOO
sometimes, he really does tell himself that you are very lucky that he likes you a lot. because there are some things that you make him do that are almost inhumane, that feels likely pure torture in a sense. but, he accepts to carry all your stuffs.
at this point, he has become your walking purse or shelf. you drag him in every shops you pass by and makes him hold the loads of clothes you bought. you make him hold your purse when you don’t want to anymore. you put your lipstick in his pocket to find it quickly.
now it’s a reflex, a natural instinct. whenever you are holding something— a drink, a paper, your phone— if he notices that you are strangling a little: he holds it for you without any hesitation. you’ll end up making him do it, anyway. and loves serving you.
JUNGWON
you never knew the existence of ‘friendship anniversaries’ until he came into your life. there is no one you know that is invested in the matter, who is so eager to celebrate the beginning of your friendship and the continuation of it with so much enthusiasm.
he shows up at your door around six in the afternoon, well dressed in a suit that hugs his waist, hair perfectly styled and his cologne making you feel butterflies in your stomach, “hi, pretty girl,” he greets you with a bouquet of flowers in hands. it’s so ridiculous, so lovely that it makes you blush each time.
you walk around all the pretty places he drags you to with the flowers by your side. there is always a moment of the night where someone asks you if you date is going well— obviously assuming that you are lovers. you both share a shy look, each year.
RIKI
your best friend used to not be a huge fan of physical touch. there was a time in your friendship, during middle school mainly, where he was unable to give you a hug without feeling forced to. and even when he did give you a hug, he would barely want to touch you— making the embrace comedicaly awkward.
but ever since he passed puberty, he has grown to love physical touch more and more. he picked up your gentle way of showing affection: through hugs, through touch, but only with you. and he gets very, very annoying when he wants it, when he wants to cuddle, “come here,” he whines.
you sigh, closing your laptop and putting it on your nightstand. he beams as he observes you laying down. the tall man gets comfortable, a little bit too comfortable. he entangles his long legs with yours, wraps his arms around your body and rests his head against your chest. you sigh, “i miss your middle schooler era.”

hey babe can I request Hotch with a reader girlfriend who’s desperately shy? early seasons hotch please when he’s still smiley (maybe still has Jack tho), i would love to see how he treats a long term girlfriend in your eyes one who he’s just completely gone for
fem, 0.9k
You should know better than to come to work without venturing up to Aaron’s private office, but you’re late coming in and there’s a ton of stuff to do and he’s supposed to pretend that he cares when you turn in your work late. You log in and start going through things slowly. There are a few emails to respond to, some queries, a consult request Aaron himself has forwarded with a note —your expertise is required.
You wiggle your mouse to wake the screen. You hadn’t realised you’d gotten stuck until it was dark.
“Hi, sweetheart,” someone murmurs, tipping your head back to kiss your cheek, “where have you been?”
He speaks quietly, no one else can hear him, but he enthuses his tone with so much love that you can’t decide between laughter or tears. You turn breathless instead, a thumb against your throat as Aaron’s loving questioning continues, “I thought we talked about this, hmm? You coming up to see me? How else am I supposed to know that you’re here?”
There’s no Emily sitting at the desk opposite yours. No Spencer adjacent, no Derek to the right. It explains why he’s butter soft, but not his worry.
“I was nearly late. I’m sorry.”
He starts to kiss you gently, quietly, his lips tracking over the side of your cheek and pressing in as he goes until his nose is against your temple. “Don’t be sorry, I just wanted to see you.” He holds you to him. “I missed you.”
“Are you okay?” you ask, wishing you were brave enough to tack handsome, or love on the end.
“Why wouldn’t I be?”
“I thought maybe you were still stressed about Emily.”
Aaron pulls away, giving you your first proper look at him that morning. He’s as handsome as ever. It makes your chest spike with anxiety. You worry all the time that you’ll lose him; the thought that he might realise all the things you’re missing and break things off is a constant at the back of your mind. It only ever goes quiet when he’s kissing you. “Prentiss has done well so far,” he says. “I’m not happy to have things rearranged above my head, but I have no problem with Emily. Now, how was your morning?”
“It was fine.”
“I want to know. Breakfast?”
“Yeah, oatmeal.”
He grins. “Me too.”
Nobody would ever believe that this is your boyfriend when he’s commanding a room during a profile, or apprehending an UnSub with his impassive, furrowed brow. You assumed it was the honeymoon phase at first. It’s not like his affection makes much sense, but if he’s not stressed, it just means he loves you, which is nice. You hold the back of your hand to his cheek, laughing in a shock when he turns his face and traps it between his cheek and his shoulder.
“No more late mornings,” he says decisively.
“I wasn’t technically late. I wasn’t early enough to come up to see you, is all. Are you upset I didn’t bring you your coffee?”
“Is that what you think?” he asks, smiling as he kisses your wrist, before straightening. You let your hand fall and he catches it on the way down.
“I don’t know. You’re much too touchy. I’m trying to deduce why, but…”
“Profile me,” Aaron says. He gives your hand a squeeze. “You know how to do it, honey. Figure out my motive from my past behaviours.”
Aaron’s only ever this sweet on you when you’re in his bed. Well, ‘only ever’ is harsh, but he’s never not sweet on you in the afterglow. And that’s because intimacy is a constant reminder of how close you really are to one another, why he loves you, and why you love him. So perhaps he’s being sweet on you because you’ve reminded him how loved he is? But it doesn’t make much sense. You forgot his coffee.
Your stomach goes warm. “Oh. Oh,” you say, “I called you last night.”
“You did.”
“I was tired.”
“But you were beautiful,” he says, and what does that mean? It’s not as though he could see your face. “I can’t remember the last time you were like that. Not since we were in Helena.”
You can’t remember it clearly. Threads of what you’d said come back to you slowly. Love you, my sweetheart, my Aaron. Can you come over? I know it’s late, I need to see you. You were too tired to function, let alone call someone, and yet.
Your face is on fire.
“Sorry I couldn’t come over, honey,” he says, chucking you under the chin with a curled finger. “I would’ve, I promise, but I had Jack until we swapped this morning.”
You go hot all over. “No, I know. It’s fine, I shouldn’t have called you–”
“Who says you can’t call me?”
“Nobody, but I shouldn’t have.”
“You can call me anytime you want.” He tips your chin up. “Quick, Spencer’ll have finished what I asked him to do soon. Can I kiss you?”
“I forgot it was your day for Jack–”
He takes your face into his hand. “Doesn’t matter, honey. Kiss?”
You close your eyes and lift your chin. Ever your prince, Aaron squeezes your cheek gently and leans in to kiss you, far warmer than you’re expecting, his thumb rubbing over your cheek with a reverence he couldn't fake if he wanted to.

Escort! Satoru- final part
Pairings- Escort Satoru Gojo x shy CEO F! reader
Warnings- obsessed ass/whipped ass Gojo, possessive Gojo, oral sex (m and f receiving) road head, explicit sex, creampie, lil bit of choking, multiple positions, car blow jobs, FLUFFY and PURE SMUT actually, happy end to this lil thing, pretty woman vibes 🤭
<<<Part Five
Tumblr media
Escort! Satoru was terrified of your answer, but when it's a soft - yes - everything fades but you. He's kissing you deeply, hungry, as he waits for the check, counting down the moments until he can bury his face against you. 'My place, this time, yeah sweetheart?' he whispers, and you nod eagerly, hand on his thigh now. 'One thing, Satoru, if you wanna date me? No more-' Satoru cuts you off, dragging you against him now. 'Never wanna touch anyone but you again, don't you know?'
Escort! Satoru didn't expect shy, sweet little you to torture his cock with teasing licks and flicks while he drives, he's swallowing nervously as you do, your teeth just nibbling on his tip, making him hiss. 'F-fuck... that mouth...' you exhale against him, making his hips jerk, and he's gripping that wheel far too tight. 'Gotta torture me for being a fucking idiot, huh?' he whispers, free hand entangling in your hair, you whine out softly, licking the little hole and lapping up his pre cum. 'Just a little bit, need something, Satoru?' he moans, head falling back when he's at a stop light. 'Stop teasing, lemme feel that throat -ah!'
Escort! Satoru has never moaned like that, whimpering in fact, while you suck him down in your hot mouth, he's so enthralled he gets honked at, earning your laugh when he drives again. Satoru shoves your head now, groaning as you take him deep. Your cunt is soaked, as he takes control, every speed bump just forcing his thick, pretty cock deeper down your throat, so many inches, such a stretch. You're sucking him deeper, hungrier, more desperate now, when finally he reaches his home, yanking you up and kissing you, tasting himself on your tongue. He pulls back and sees the tears from choking on him, and god you look fucking too pretty. 'Come on' his voice is hushed, hurried, and instead of holding your hand and dragging you, he has you picked up in his arms. You're giggling breathless when you ride up the elevator to his penthouse, kissing over and over.
Escort! Satoru doesn't make it much further than the two of you did in your home, you also don't even look around the dark living room as you stumble with him, clothes strewn while the two of you bare each other bit by bit, lips hardly leaving for breaths, until Satoru's down to his boxers, and you're in some fancy black lingerie that's killing him. He throws you eagerly on the bed, god he can't hardly drag his lips off yours now that they've landed there, you're too sweet, too yummy, as he devours them, his hands slipping across the lace of your bra, thumbs against your nipples that harden to the touch. 'mmm, can't stop kissing me, can you?' your whisper is met with him leaning up, sighing, fingers brushing against your cheek.
Escort! Satoru whispers then - 'I haven't kissed someone in years, but fuck I never regretted anything more than not kissing you that night' you pause, blinking emotions back then, you have to bite that lip as it trembles, leaving him to tug it gently from your teeth. 'Satoru, it's okay-' he cuts you off with a shake of his head, a kiss on your breast, his hand gliding to tug at the cup of your bra. 'No, I should have kissed you, held you, can you forgive me?' his eyes glimmer with his own regret, his own lonliness without you, his own hurt. You nod quickly, tears slipping down your cheeks and glimmering while he descends lower, your hands in his silken hair, feeling the thick strands between your fingers. 'Of course I do, mnh!'
Escort! Satoru nibbles on your ribcage now, the skin glistening with his saliva, illuminating teeth marks left. You gasp at it, while he reaches behind you, unhooking your bra with an expert move, releasing your pretty breasts that bounce gently, little marks of your lace decorating them. Satoru presses kisses to each mark, sighing, cock throbbing from you sucking him, from his desire. 'I fucking fell for you, and it scared me, shit I was so dumb....' his words run out before he can stop them, and you gasp in shock, he curses softly. 'You don't have to say it back, I know I-' you yank him up now, lips a breath from yours, cerulean gaze dancing across your face as his lids lower, and your heart pounds in your chest. 'Satoru, I fell for you too, I was so lonely before I met you, and I didn't even know' as your words reflect in his heart, he melts, hand entwined with yours. 'How-'
Escort! Satoru is cut off with a 'shh' and then your tongues dance once more, as he hungrily picks up your hips, grinding against your slick panties, you gasp as his cock presses against your cunt, already throbbing with need for him. 'please, please, in me' Satoru wouldn't deny you anything, ever again, he eases your panties down, pressing kisses across your pretty cunt, already drooling so much strings of your arousal stick to them as he pulls. 'fuck, I missed this' he's lapping at you now, even as you're yanking him up. 'lemme taste you, stop rushing me, sweetheart, dreamt of this' you ease a bit, taking a breath, brain still trying to compute that he is here, that he's saying things you dreamed off, eyeing you under his snowy lashes. 'Please, jus'let me enjoy your sweet little cunt' you nod then as he dives back down and licks to the point of obsession
Escort! Satoru drinks your cunt up like he's not had water in days and you're the source, lapping all the juices that pour, the sound of him drinking you is fucking filthy, the way his head shakes side to side, tongue obscene as it smacks against every bit of your cunt, inside, the clit, the lips, all of it. Nothing is missed by his lips, teeth, tongue, which now dances on your clit, all while he shoves your thighs up high, still in your stockings and garters. 'Satoru, c-can't again, t-too much!' you're sobbing out by the third orgasm, when he finally relents, fingertips having left bruises on the backs of your thighs. He inhales, licking his lower lip, looking fucking insane off you, drunk off you, watching how you tremble and shake, finally slipping off his boxers, cock springing out and slapping against you, hot and heavy, white precum sticking against your inner thigh.
Escort! Satoru leans over, opening the drawer, but you pause him as he grabs the gold foil packets, gripping his wrist, thumb pressed against his racing pulse. 'Satoru, is it against your rules to... cum inside me?' Satoru pauses, lips parted then, he surely is fucking dreaming, you under him asking for it raw, asking for him to bust and fill your pretty pussy? 'Shit, sorry um-' he throws them back in the drawer, closing it, leaning back over you and shaking his head slowly, sighing, cupping your face with one big hand. 'Sweetheart, you've gotten rid of every rule I've ever had, and I'd love to break this one for the first time' his tip is against your clit, teasing and making your hips jerk then. He has your thigh pressed up high against your body, watching your face as he slowly presses his tip in your hot, eager little cunt. 'Mnh!' your sweet cry ruins him, feeling you without a condom is even better than with, so good he'd do anything to feel it over and over again, letting out his own moan right with you. 'I'll give you anything you ask for, pretty, anything'
Escort! Satoru slides his cock in to the hilt, slamming your cervix and feeling every bit of your slick, gummy walls, the texture that grips his cock so fucking good. You're trembling, close already from how much he'd teased you with his mouth, nails pressing into his bare back as the fan above works to cool you both and fails. Satoru eases back, sliding back in with a sharp thrust, your tits bounce when he does, calling for a palm, a kiss, a lick, all while he fucks you so good you're fading in and out, on the brink of falling off the edge. 'Satoru!' as you cry his name out, he moans your name softly, pulling back now and watching the bulge move in your stomach, eliciting something feral, as he watches the slick gushing around his veiny length when he pulls out, almost to the tip, then shoves in again, watching your every expression. He watches your eyes roll back, your mouth open, drool spilling out that he swipes away, your brows drawing together as you scream for him, murmuring - 'so fucking beautiful'
Escort! Satoru has you cumming all over his cock, flipping you on your stomach then, a hand around your throat, squeezing just so. Long fingers are brushing aside your hair, his cock entering you from behind even deeper, whispering your name as he feels you, squeezing just a bit, thumb right over your pulse point. 'Want me to, sweetheart?' your little mewl and nod is his answer, urging him on to choke you while he pounds his cock in and out, your hips pressing your ass up for more, more, more, while you're fuzzy, lightheaded. Your hand grips his wrist, feeling the tendons as they squeeze, and when you're close again you grip him too fucking good, making him as dizzy as you, drunk off your every gasp, sigh, movement. 'Cum f'me, that's it, good girl' his words and his movements urge you, a silent scream while your cunt spasms around him, almost pushing him then and there, letting go of your throat so you can gulp a greedy breath
Escort! Satoru is about to break all of his perceived rules, no kissing, no cuddling, no fucking without a condom, now he's going to cum inside you, and fuck does he want to. 'ready for me to fill you so full of cum, huh?' you nod eagerly, neck sore, ears still ringing. You cling to him, a thigh hitched up, shoving his cock deep inside, then you feel it, hot spurts of his cock just pulsing, and shooting up into you, filling you with his hot, drippy white ropes, his whimper in your ear so sexy you never want to not hear it again, how he cries out your name, how he whispers he loves you as he keeps pumping, shaking over you, desperate and messy kisses across your shoulders while he feels your aftershocks. And you whisper your love declarations, while he grips you under your chin, kissing you to seal the intimacy of the moment, to let go of anything that ever held him back for you.
Escort! Satoru holds you close that night after cleaning you up so carefully, giving you one of his big dress shirts that swallows you to wear, holding you against his chest. He's stroking your hair as you snuggle against him, body exhausted from all of your exertions, smiling against his bare chest. Nothing has ever felt as perfect as being in his arms, and nothing has ever been as perfect as holding you in them. He contemplates out loud then - 'I need a change of employment, now you know. Any positions open?' you giggle at that, fingers drifting up and down his chest, still slick from sweat, hot skin underneath you. 'I don't really need you to work, you know' his brows rise, as a smirk runs across his face, 'oh no?' you nod, pressing a kiss on lips that once seemed unattainable. 'I can still be of service, you know' he says, dragging you on top of him then, your hands brace on his chest, as your hair falls to the side. 'Hmm, how so?'
'As your private escort, sweetheart, only yours'

So I was reading your post about how Steve takes pride in having a scratched up back and it got me thinking about how he’d react to his girl being physically unable to stand/walk the morning after. Like he’d be so smug for at least a week all like >:) hehehe I did that >:). And the entire day he’d be all smirky like ‘does my baby need to be carried’ and then you tell him he’s banned from sex for a week lol.
FJDHSHSHS this ask made me actually cackle it was so golden thank u so much for sending it to me <3 it’s more goof than smut <3
There’s an ache between your thighs and you know exactly where you got it.
Well, you know precisely how you got it— from the culprit currently dozing beside you in early morning light.
You have to blink heavily as you come to, drawn out of a deep, deep sleep by the morning dawn. It’s light enough outside for the room to have a soft glow. The curtains are still drawn and the sheets are fresh, though after last night, perhaps they’ll need changing again.
Shifting about to get comfortable, you feel that familiar tenderness between your legs — it’s a soreness that you only get from particularly passionate night.
You peek to the side, searching for your love.
Steve’s hair is sticking up at all angles, mussed up, and his mouth is open, snuffly snores getting pressed into his pillow.
You can’t see that with his back to you, but you can see that canvas of tan skin and moles.
And scratches. Lots and lots of scratches, pink against his skin and raised in some places. An undeniable mark of a good time.
At the sight, some flusters and something preens in you. It stems from something possessive, a purr hiding under your skin at the knowledge you’ll both be feeling little reminders this morning.
You shuffle closer and wake him with a kiss on the back of his neck.
Like your lips stir him, Steve gives a sleepy groan in response, making you smile. You kiss him again, this time further up along his shoulder, and then give him an affectionate little bite. Barely a nibble.
“Mm, hey,” Steve says, voice faux-stern and coated in sleep. It’s gravelly enough to make you consider a round two. You watch over his shoulder as his eyelashes scrunch open. “What’re doin’ back there?”
You soothe your tiny bite-mark with another kiss and push yourself up, sheets pooling around your waist. As much as you’d love to doze off in Steve’s arms all morning, there’s things on your to-do list.
“Nothing of consequence,” you say, looking down at Steve with a loving smile. You trace across between the moles of his back with an idle finger, until he rolls over toward you, forcing you to stop.
“Mhm,” He hums. His hazel eyes are warm like the morning, like the bed, like the softness between you.
“I think that means nothing important— to which I have to protest,” He captures your wandering hand and kisses it gently, eyes fixed on you. “Massively.” Another kiss. “Majorly. Everything you do is important.”
The next kiss is so feathersoft, on the delicate skin on the inside of your wrist, that your laugh is tickled out of you. Worming your hand out of his hold, you grin, even as you roll your eyes.
“Suck up.”
Steve laughs, his voice still rougher than usual. He wiggles his eyebrows at you. “Nuh uh.”
The warmth of his gaze glazes over you as you turn and shuffle to your edge of the bed, pushing on your hands to get to your feet.
It takes about half a second before the ache in your core sends out a hot throb of pain and pleasure, a very imaginable reminder of just how Steve had drilled the ache into you a mere few hours ago.
You push through it and stand, but your legs shake noticeably.
“Oho, baby,” Steve coos, noticing immediately. You turn to glare at him over your shoulder and find he’s perked up, his head held up in his hand. He looks divine — and far, far too happy about the quake in your legs.
“Rough night?”
“Shut up,” You say with no bite. “Like it isn’t your damn fault.”
Steve laughs, “That’s exactly why I’m smirking, honey.”
You take a step and your legs feel no less like jelly, a little bend in your knees you have to correct quickly.
The warm ache pulses and you can only think of—Steve pushing your thigh up against your chest, grinding his hips into you, each deep thrust pulling these desperate sounds from you as he lost himself in you—
You take another step and something buckles, making you stumble for a moment. Your face flames with heat.
“Woah, you alright?” There’s a tint of concern to Steve’s voice as he properly sits up in the bed and scoots over to sit closer to your side. Reaching out, he tenderly rubs your lower back, his brows pinched together as he checks you over.
“I’m okay,” You say over your shoulder to appease his genuine worry. Then you lean back into his hand with a dramatic huff, rolling your eyes again. “No thanks to you.”
“Mm, I fucked you good,” Steve hums casually, leaning forward to press a kiss to the hip he can reach. There’s a smugness to his tone that you actually can’t dispute because he’s absolutely correct.
“Does baby need to be carried?” He says, enjoying himself far too much.
You glare down at him, letting him simmer in his smugness for just a moment. Your hand reaches down, tangling in his hair, and you smile like you’re about to fall into his arms and say oh yes baby, please.
“I think,” You begin, casting your gaze to the ceiling as you think. “Mm, no sex for a week for that comment.”
Steve’s mouth pops open, an aghast expression on his face. “Baby!”
You wander backward, away from his wandering hand, focusing on making sure your legs keep you upright. There’s a goading grin on your face.
“You heard me.”
“That’s- you— I’m being punished for being good at my job!”
Your head tilts back in laughter as you reach the doorway. You eye him with a knowing smirk, shaking your head softly. “That’s not why you’re being punished and you know why…”
As you turn, heading for the kitchen, you don’t doubt the pout on Steve’s lips.

Omg I love your jack Abbott writings! All of the written so well. So I have a request if theyre open.
Jack x nurse reader who had a fling but it ended soooo badly because emotions weren’t being regulated. This makes reader quit PTMC and work elsewhere when she finds out she’s pregnant. Never tells jack. Cut to a year or two later, and they manage to cross paths where jack realizes it’s his son/daughter, feelings get thrown out the bag, and they all lived happily ever after?
in the wreckage | one shot
Dr. Jack Abbot x ex!f!nurse!reader
Requested
Summary: It’s in the wreckage of what was that you find hope for what could be.
[ My Masterlist ]
Note: Thank you, anon, I hope you enjoy! I struggled between giving him a son or daughter here, frankly because I really enjoyed both in my head. So like it has been in the past, it came down to a coin toss lol
Jack strikes me as both ‘“I walk you to your door and maybe kiss you goodnight on the second or third date” slow, intentional, traditional man and “if I don’t talk about my feelings, they don’t exist” longing, no title, all physical man’ so I float between them lol
Word Count: 3.1k (I blacked out)
Most of my works are 18+ for adult language and content.
Warnings: afab!reader, ex-situationship, implied age gap, foul language, hurt/comfort, mild references to smut, unplanned/surprise pregnancy, not telling jack about said pregnancy (reader being in the wrong oof), single mom!reader, hospital settings, medical inaccuracies, injuries relating to a car crash, angst with a happy ending, fluff
not beta read

It had started in the heat of the moment, neither of you being particularly careful with your feelings. The collection of lingering glances and secret smiles had brought it all to the surface until it was just the two of you after a bad shift. You had found comfort in each other that night, and several nights afterwards, lost in heat and an unspoken understanding of the horrors you faced each day.
Jack Abbot was a man of many complexities, though you thought that was what had sucked you in in the first place. The mysterious edge always left you wanting, always kept you guessing, and that just seemed like a recipe for disaster.
Perhaps because it had started on uncertain ground, always leaving you on the edge of your seat, left the relationship constantly feeling strained. What was worse was that neither of you called attention to it and simply let the insecurities fester. Simply never brought up what you were, or what you wanted to be, or got too personal to be vulnerable, though Jack had more of an affinity for that last one than you did.
You smiled at him less and less in the hallways of the Pitt, overwhelmed by the unknowing eating at your insides. You avoided him at work. He avoided your calls. Sooner or later, one of you always turned up at the other’s door. It became habitual, like a moth to a flame.
It only made your downfall so much worse.
You had wanted a clean break, and leaving the Pitt had been like leaving home. It had been necessary after that night with Jack, unable to look at him, let alone continue working with him. Not after what he said — not after you had asked for more and he had calmly, collectively, refused you. Like it didn’t matter. Like you didn’t understand.
It had done more than just hurt and embarrassed you, it had burned.
Like everything had reached its crescendo before stopping cold. All the feelings buzzing around your chest had been too much in the aftermath, so you left. Just left.
The two little pink lines staring at you just a few weeks later were a bitter pill to swallow. A cruel cosmic joke reeling you back to the man you were trying to run away from — leaving a constant reminder of the downfall. Bile had risen in your throat, and you felt a petty feeling rise with it.
He didn’t need to be in your life. You could do it alone. Who said you had to tell him? Perhaps that was wrong of you, a bit too childish, but you were still angry. Still running.
As your belly swelled, your feelings started seeming less bitter and more sweet. You moved out of your crappy one-bedroom apartment and into a fresh start, committing to your choice. Committing to the child in your womb and the choices that had led you there.
There was a tiny part of you that wanted to reach out, let him know, but you grew embarrassed each time you stared at his contact. You did not want him to feel like you were trapping him after he had made it clear that nothing more could happen between you.
For months you struggled with your decision, trying to wrangle your worries and insecurities about being a single mother. All the work, all the money, all the stress it was going to bring you.
It all seemed to fade away when you held your son in your arms, so small and screaming, and yet your heart filled with joy. He was perfect, with tiny fingers and toes, small tufts of dark hair atop his head. His eyes gave you pause — as they were unmistakably Jack’s.
You cried without really knowing why. Joy, longing, loss, love, or something in between had boiled up and then boiled over. Jack should know, echoed quietly in the back of your mind, he should know he has a son.
It felt too late to say it. You had had months to say something, anything and chosen not to. It was too late.
Despite the hardships you faced as a new mom facing it alone, Daniel was loved fiercely and spoiled when you could manage it. Your friends and co-workers helped when they could, and never let the absence of a father grow when they could help fill the void. Even your old co-workers came to see you and your son, visiting with curiosity soaking their eyes.
If any of them caught on, they didn’t say anything.
It felt crazy to you that a year since your son had been born had passed so quickly, so fleetingly. You worked a lot to afford rent, food and childcare, but even still, it felt strange that a year had gone by without fanfare.
Your friend had been a lifesaver when she allowed you to use her backyard for his first birthday party. It would be a small affair, with only a handful of kids Daniel knew from daycare and a few of your friends and their kids. Perlah and Dana even stopped by, giving their well wishes from everyone.
When you ran out of ice for the coolers, you and one of your co-workers, Liam, offered to go get more at the corner store. You left Daniel in the caring hands of Dana and promised to be back in only a few minutes.
A few minutes turned into a few hours after you had been blindsided and t-boned by a car trying to run a red light. You felt hazy when the paramedics arrived, carefully trying to apply pressure to the gash on Liam’s leg.
When you were wheeled into PTMC, you felt a flood of panic. Hadn’t you asked to head to Alleghany East? Maybe it had only been in your head. You prayed to whatever was out there that you would only see Robby.
Fate had other plans, it seemed, as Jack was the one who had come to the ambulance doors to assess you.
He stared at you like he had seen a ghost before buckling down and getting to work. He checked your pupils and your vitals, muttering something about a concussion, before checking over the handful of cuts the glass had made when the windows broke.
You were stable, so they wheeled you back into an open room to wait for a head CT. Jack lingered in the doorway, before shooing away an intern who had come to clean your wounds.
“How’s my friend? Is he okay?”
Jack pulled the stool close to you, “He’s just a room over. Nasty laceration, concussion, but Robby’s taking care of him. He’ll be okay.”
You nodded and took a deep breath. You picked up your phone to call Dana.
“I shouldn’t be long.” You told her after explaining what had happened.
“I’ll be right there.”
“You don’t have to do that.”
“Like hell I don’t. Don’t you worry about a thing, I’ll take care of it.”
You sighed, “Thank you, Dana.”
Jack, who had silently been cleaning your wounds, spoke, “So…is it just me you don’t talk to anymore?”
You scrunched your eyebrows and looked at him quizzically, “Excuse me?”
Hazel eyes flicked up to meet yours.
“I thought you made it clear that was the last thing you wanted.” You said, tone hard, lips dipping into a frown.
Jack let out a long sigh. “It was a bad shift. Bad day. It doesn’t excuse what I said. I was running from it being something real, I’m sorry.” A long pause echoed. “But I’d like to try and at least be friends.”
Friends? It ached somewhere deep in your chest. You could not be friends. You had made that decision over a year before and decided against having him in your life at any capacity. You frowned at him, looking away from his face before you could crumble.
“I don’t think that’s wise.” You said quietly.
He nodded, pulling over the suture kit. That seemed to be the end of it.
You let him finish working while the silence washed over you, thick and guarded. Your thoughts felt cloudy, and your head hurt, your muscles ached, but doubt began to creep in.
Had you made the right decision? You wanted to believe so. With one foot constantly out the door, would he even make a good father? Had you waited too long to even consider telling him? You felt stuck in your head, going over all the what ifs until you felt queasy.
A knock sounded on the door, pulling you from your thoughts. Dana’s pleasant smile greeted you, but it was your son in her arms that made you flush with distress. You stared at her with wide eyes, heart picking up speed.
“Someone was worried.” She told you simply, but her eyes flickered to Jack.
Jack looked up at Dana, then at the boy in her arms. The toddler was tucked against her neck, leaning on her like he was trying to sleep. Jack schooled his features easily, though it looked like he was disappointed for just a fraction of a second, which sent you reeling.
“Should I have someone call your…boyfriend?” Jack asked tightly, looking back down at the stitch work.
“No boyfriend.” You frowned, but accepted your son from Dana eagerly. Did Jack think that you’d had a baby with someone else? Good. Good. That was for the best. Bile burned your throat.
“How’re you feeling, kid?”
“I’ll be fine, thank you. Can you call my parents? I’ll need help getting him home.”
“Of course, I’ll be just outside if you need anything else.” Dana said, eyes moving to Jack and then back to you.
Your cheeks heated and you held your son tightly to your chest. You rubbed his back and hummed softly, though it was more to comfort yourself than him. Maybe Jack would not notice, just finish his stitches and be on his way and you could go on pretending this had never happened.
Though, thinking Jack wouldn’t notice something was a fool’s game. Your son turned his head to look at him, blinking his tired hazel eyes at Jack. Like you had thought when you first saw them, they were like a mirror of each other.
Alarm raced through Jack’s features, eyes flickering from Daniel and back to you, eyebrows raised, breath caught. You stopped breathing, and your joints locked into place like you were bracing for it to all fall apart. He just stared at you.
“How old is he?”
“Jack—”
“How. Old. Is. He?”
“A year…today.” You said quietly. Meekly. Words cutting your throat like they had been glass.
It was simple enough to do the math, and his expression hardened. He stood, and the air shifted to something uncomfortable, uneasy, uncharted, unknown.
“Jack—wait—let me explain.”
“So I take it this is why everyone has been so secretive about why you left.”
“They didn’t know. No one knew.”
He gestured to where Dana stood in the hall.
“No one knew for certain.” You elaborated, trying to defend them. Perhaps you could handle him being mad at you, but not the family you had made in the Pitt. You had never told them, and they had never asked, though from how she had handed your son to you, it was clear Dana had known.
“You were never going to tell me.” It wasn’t a question. It was an accusation.
Shame bubbled in your gut, low and searing, working its way upwards until tears formed. What you had been bracing for hit you like a punch to the chest — hurting more than that car had inflicted.
“I thought it was the right choice at the time.”
He scoffed and recoiled, his expression flinching between pain and anger.
“Jack—” you sighed, leveling your voice so you didn’t raise it. “—you told me I could never understand you, or the role you played here. That asking for any more from you was pointless…that it had all been a mistake and I needed to move on. I really couldn’t bear to work with you after that, so I left. I didn’t know I was pregnant yet. Was it wrong to keep it from you once I found out? …yes. But I was hurt.” You swallowed tightly, and wiped away your tears, annoyed they were forming.
He walked to the far wall away from you, then paced back toward you before repeating himself, hands on his hips. His expression broached closer to unreadable, which fueled your panic. With a long, heavy sigh, he stopped to lean against the wall. Never one to stray from eye contact, he found your eyes. Heavy, hard, reserved.
“I thought it was for the best. I didn’t want you to feel like I was trapping you, especially since it seemed like kids were the last thing on your list. I just wanted a clean break. I doubted my decision a lot—”
“And yet, you did nothing about it.”
You bit your lip. “I’m so sorry, Jack. I really messed up, I know that now. Time kept slipping away from me. I was still figuring out parenting — I still am — and to throw co-parenting into the mix? It felt like an impossible climb.”
“If you had never come here today…if Dana had never brought him in…you never would have said anything.”
More tears came as shame burned your face, “Maybe you’re right. I don’t know.”
Silences with Jack used to be comfortable, easy, as simple as breathing. The one now settling between you? It ached, it burned, it crushed.
“What’s his name?” Jack asked quietly, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Daniel.”
You swore you saw his eyes grow glassy.
“I made the wrong decision, and I’ll own up to that.” You admitted quietly. “I can’t change what I did or didn’t do, and I’ll never be able to apologize enough for it. I just thought this…this would be easier. For everyone involved.”
“I’m involved now. Don’t fight me on that.”
“I won’t.” You vowed.
Trust was built back slowly, through long conversations and with actions followed through. It had been tense and awkward as your son grew to know Jack as his father, though he fell into the role like he was made for it. It only made the guilt over stealing a year of your son’s life from him hurt all over again.
The tension and burning guilt were the hardest thing for you two to overcome. While he never raised his voice, he would grow accusatory when he remembered how much he had lost out on. You would double down on the night you had left him behind — or perhaps it truly was him leaving you behind — and the words he had said to you.
Neither of you were particularly blameless, not really. The relationship that had been was not one formed on a solid foundation, so everything felt like new territory. The pull of will they, won’t they, as Princess had put it, constantly making you question where you stood.
You just wanted to focus on co-parenting effectively, and Jack just wanted to focus on making up for lost time. That felt easy enough.
But something from the past — from the wreckage of what you had been — lingered like some part of you and Jack was haunted. An echo of what should have been fizzled just below the surface.
On the first night you felt secure enough to leave Daniel at Jack’s apartment, you settled in his kitchen to clean up a bit of the mess from dinner. Jack’s guest room had been quickly converted to be a bedroom for his son, pulling together everything he needed without complaint.
Jack wandered back into the kitchen after settling Daniel down for the night. You hummed softly, and Jack leaned against the doorway without saying anything.
“I know this is hard for you.” Jack said, hands in his pockets. “Thank you for giving me tonight.”
You smiled even though a sadness lingered at leaving your son somewhere overnight that was not his home. But this would need to be his home, too, so you swallowed it.
“You two need some quality time,” after I ripped the beginning away from you. “You two will have fun tomorrow.”
“...I got an extra ticket, if you’d like to come with us.”
Hope bloomed, “You did?”
“I’d like to put the past behind us. Move forward together.” He said, eyes never leaving yours.
Forgiveness had come with your son’s echoing laughter and hues of blue shimmering against your skin, as light moved through the water. Daniel pointed up at the sharks in their tanks while Jack held him, watching in his own kind of excitement, a smile cracking against the corner of his mouth.
Jack had grabbed your hand without saying anything.
You intertwined your fingers and let out a long breath of relief.
Something like love had come in a flourish after Daniel’s first words: dada. It might have felt like a punch to the gut, another cosmic joke, if it hadn’t lit up Jack’s face in a smile you had never seen before. It warmed the ache in your chest and decided it was okay for Jack to have this first.
It felt like forgiving yourself.
You ended up staying the night, curling up against Jack’s chest while your son slept soundly in the next room. Neither of you wanted to rush what was blossoming between you, or jinx it. If you were going to go for it, you each deserved steady ground to stand on.
“You’re doing really well with him.” You whispered. “I was worried it would feel clunky or unnatural to have you around. But it works.”
He looked at you for a long time. “I don’t want to mess this up, too.”
You softened, “I think that’s what parenthood is. Messing up and trying to do better, every day.”
“Do you think relationships are the same?” He asked, low and deliberate.
“Yeah, I do.”
It felt like a confession.
He leaned down to kiss you, but paused just before his lips met yours. Your heart hammered against your ribs, and you wet your lips with your tongue.
“I like what we have. I don’t want to screw it up by trying to be something we’re not.” You said quietly, though you felt the pull of wanting to kiss him.
Co-parenting had been bleeding closer to a relationship for quite some time, but you had not wanted to be the one who spoiled it.
“I’m not going to run this time, not if you don’t.”
You swallowed, focusing on his eyes, “I’m here to stay.”
He captured your lips, pulling you flush against him, one hand going behind your head and the other settling on your hip. It was hesitant, but full of feeling, of all things left unsaid.
It felt like was a promise.

you want to make your first sant jordi together perfect for her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Ale?” You called out, hearing a hum from the vague direction of the lounge.
You'd just arrived at her place, reluctantly waking up in separate apartments on a free Sunday in early April since Alexia had a family thing the night before, and you spent the evening at Ingrid’s with a few friends. Individually, both of you had a good time, but it wasn’t without a grumble from you at having to walk up alone. You slept better with Alexia beside you, somehow she helped with your sleeping problems better than anything else you had tried. Whether that be because she’s a naturally calm person and that seeps into you, putting you at ease, or having her there worked as a distraction since you always fall asleep drowning in each other’s arms or with her fingertips running up and down your back soothingly.
The night before, however, you didn’t sleep too well. Your mind wouldn’t shut off at all. But, it allowed you to do some thinking. And the next morning, you walked into her apartment with a plan of action.
She was, what would seem uncharacteristic to others but not to you at all, sprawled out on her sofa, all long limbs in an oversized navy Nike tracksuit. The girl was like a sloth sometimes, a description of her she didn’t appreciate, yet one you loved to tease her with. As you rounded the corner from the hallway, she dropped her phone against her chest and glanced up at you with a warm smile. The sight of her so happy to see you never got old.
“Bon dia.” She uttered with a content sigh, moving an arm behind her head as she watched you take off your jacket and slide your shoes off. Then, you headed over to her, and her smile got wider as she braced herself for you to lay on top of her. You didn’t, to her disappointment. You sat by her feet, a determined look on her face. “What’s up with you?”
“I need you to tell me everything I need to know about Sant Jordi.”
Well, that, the brunette wasn’t expecting.
“Why?” She asked curiously, sitting up a little to lean back on her hands, her eyebrows pressed down into a confused scowl. All she wanted was a hug, but here she was having to give a history lesson.
“Because you said it’s your favourite holiday. So I need you to tell me all about it, so that I can make plans for us.”
Your words offered her a hug instead; her heart fluttered in her chest at the demand from you. It was incredibly sentimental to her, so much so she felt her cheeks heat up the tiniest bit.
“You want to make plans for it?” Alexia wondered, eyebrows now raised with a hopeful smile on her face that she tried to disguise.
“Of course I do. It’s your favourite.” You repeated, replying to her question like the answer was obvious. Because of course you wanted to make her favourite day of the year live up to her standards, and more.
“Okay.” Alexia blinked as she looked at the seriousness on your face, trying to process what was happening. There were butterflies in her stomach, like she was a teenager after their first kiss. But no, it was just you, and your limitless thoughtfulness and compassion. It only made her love you more, made her more excited for the holiday to come, because it was her first with you and that was good enough for her without all the added extras you seemed set on adding. “Well, what do you want to know?”
You pulled your phone out, opened up your notes, pressing on the already half-written page from your impromptu research the night before, and looked back up at her.
“Everything, Alexia.”
She couldn’t help but laugh at your response. Not at your dedication, because she found that outrageously endearing, but at how deadset on this you were. How deadset you were on making her feel loved, and that was something she treasured more than you could ever know.
“Only if you actually give me a hug first. Maybe a kiss too for extra motivation if I have to tell you everything.”
You rolled your eyes at her, though fell for it regardless. You dropped your phone and watched as she shuffled closer, visible excitement on her face as if she hadn’t kissed you a hundred times before. She sat up properly and held your face with her hands on the side of your head, leaning in so fast you almost clashed heads, but that was the last thing on your mind the moment her lips landed on yours. They were soft, like always, soft and familiar, and the way they moved against yours had you wondering why on earth you’d delayed the moment when you arrived.
Until your thoughts trailed off from her and back to the task at hand.
“So,” You started as you pulled away from her mouth with a wet smack. Your phone was back in your hand and you were straight back to business before she’d even registered that you had broken it off. “Tell me about it.”
Her hands were still cradling your face, eyes on yours as she caught her breath back. You looked down at her, eyebrow raised as you waited for her to compose herself again. After she inhaled another deep breath, she searched your eyes to check for any ounce of doubt or sarcasm as she took a moment to realise… just how much it meant to her that you were offering this.
“You’re really serious about this?” She murmured a moment later, a sheepish expression on her face.
“Yes. I am. It’s our first together, I want to get it right.” You admitted quietly, a slightly embarrassed red tinge to your cheeks as she beamed at you, her thumbs stroking over your cheekbones. She leaned in again, a gentler kiss this time, one that conveyed her adoration rather than any other meaning.
“That means so much to me.” She whispered against your lips when she pulled away. A soft smile formed on your face at her words, because they alone were worth it and you hadn’t even done anything yet. That was exactly why you were doing it.
“Can only do it if you tell me.” You teased, turning your head to kiss her palm.
Alexia chuckled gently, shifting to sit back against the sofa and wrapping an arm around your shoulders to pull you into her a little. You turned slightly so that your back was to her shoulder and her hand slipped down to your chest, your own reaching up to link with hers and resting there. With a warmth in her chest, finally having you where she wanted you and a topic at hand where its future with you both excited her immeasurably, she was wholly content.
“I don’t even know where to start with it.”
How could she explain it to you? The day spoke for itself. She hadn’t ever explained it to anyone before because it’d always just been there in her life, woven into April and she’d never known anything different. Now though, she had you, who hadn’t even heard of it until one movie night early on in your friendship where she rambled about it for twenty minutes straight when you asked if she liked Valentine’s Day. She had scoffed, to your confusion, before giving a hundred-and-one reasons why Sant Jordi was far superior due to the deep-rooted culture and everything else about it that fascinated her still, even after thirty years of it. Maybe you would have better knowledge of it, had you actually paid attention to what she was saying rather than how she looked.
It wasn’t a holiday, exactly, more like the heartbeat of her city. A day where love drifted in the wind, swirling in the air, like oxygen, which it almost was. Nobody could survive without love and that’s what the day was about, always had been, since that time with the dragon and the rose that sprouted after. Since then, no matter what a person was going through, a simple rose was enough to put a smile on anyone’s face. Because a Sant Jordi rose wasn’t simple, it was more than just a tradition. It was love with roots, dating back centuries and sure to last for yet more to come. Giving a rose to you and receiving one from you on this day, to Alexia, meant that you had both chosen to love each other and wanted to tell so in the language of the place that meant everything to her. As she was explaining, she felt herself become giddy with excitement. It was hard to put it into words when all that was on her mind was you and roses and books and dragons and-
“You’re trailing off, Ale. Stay on topic.”
Right.
The brunette wholeheartedly believed there was never a more beautiful day in Barcelona than on Sant Jordi. There was a particular way the city softened then. Streets transformed from fast-moving busyness to slow streams of people stopping in their step, not out of obligation but from wonder. From actually pausing their life, taking a breath, and appreciating things they missed in daily life. Love, community, humanity. Something shifted in everybody during the holiday. Strangers smiled easily, weightless from their usual burdens, desperate to share the serenity they felt with others. Vendors with hundreds of the most gorgeous roses you could find handed them out willingly to everyone with the same care reserved for their loved ones, because that’s just what the day made you do. It was good, whilst also unfairly rare to have a reason to give beauty just for the sake of it.
Deep down, maybe that’s why most people loved it. It was an excuse to share the pure sides of humankind in a world that lacked it so much.
And the way people showed these things was with the roses, yes, but books too. Alexia recalled her mother saying something to her when she was younger, where she had asked why it was books and roses, and her answer was ‘one for the mind, one for the heart.’ That memory came racing back to her, bringing a reminiscing smile to her face, before echoing it to you too. There was the legend of the knight and the dragon, of blood turned into rose, of course, but there was the celebration of two authors too, Cervantes and Shakespeare. So while the rose speaks of love, the book speaks of connection. To give one is just as precious as receiving one. It’s a gift of thought and attention, where someone has listened to another and decided on something that will resonate with them, whether it’s a topic about what they long for, what they fear, what they want to learn, or what they treasure. It’s sacred, in a way that’s different to the rose, but just as meaningful.
The day was solely dedicated to care, to language, culture, and love. All the things that were most important to Alexia. She thought about it often in the weeks leading up to it, and apparently so did you. That gave her even more reasons, added to the already infinite list, of why you were her person.
“Wow.” You breathed out in awe when she finished, thumbs paused over your phone screen because you hadn’t quite expected her to go so in depth. She opened up to you about it, completely and honestly. You might be the worst person ever if you didn’t make it the best day of her life.
“Yeah.” Alexia hummed, her ramble having caught herself off guard. But, sharing her adoration for the day with someone new, where she had to explain all the reasons she enjoyed it which she hadn’t really done out-loud before, simply reignited her love for it and made it stronger. “Was that… too much at once?”
You put your phone down, it being the last thing on your mind then, then turned around to face her. The midfielder seemed a bit shy, embarrassed even, and you had to change that.
“No. Never too much. You explained it a million times better than I thought you would. Thank you for sharing all that with me.” You told her, eyes wide and sincere as she met your gaze. She let out a small relieved sigh, before her lips widened into an admiring smile.
“I can’t wait to spend it with you.” You gave a cheesy grin at her adorable comment, then got straight down to business.
“Who do you want to spend the day with?” You questioned, waiting for her answer expectantly as she frowned at you.
“You, obviously.” The midfielder answered.
“Okay, but I mean, don’t you want to see your family too? Some friends maybe? You don’t want to have lunch with Alba and your mother, dinner with your close friends, that kind of thing?”
“No. Just you.”
Oh. That took you by surprise a bit. You were flattered by her, and you couldn’t exactly hide it either with the way you blushed a moment or two after she spoke. She noticed and smirked at you, proud of her charm.
“Well, I still think we should visit Alba and Eli anyway, give them some roses.” You compromised, feeling a tad guilty for snatching your girlfriend away from her family.
“Sure.” Alexia shrugged. “As long as I get the whole day with you.”
“You will.” You mumbled under her piercing attention, her eyes unmoving from your face. “And where do you want to go together? What would you like us to do?”
It was then that she looked away. How could she say what she wanted to say without extinguishing your excitement?
“Let me take the lead on that. I know you want to surprise me, and you still can, but I want to show you to some of my favourite places, okay? I know all the good spots and I want to show you why I love them. I'd really like to share them with you.” You seemed to deflate at that, her wishes going against the rough plan you had for how this conversation would go, as well as Sant Jordi itself.
“But I want to surprise you, Ale.” You said dejectedly, which only made her smile. She leaned forward and kissed your cheek, hoping to cheer you up back into your good mood.
“I know, and I’ll let you. But I want to give you a good day too. Let me organise where we go, what we see, and you can do anything else you would like. Fifty-fifty.” She suggested, watching your reaction as you took a minute to think. After a moment or two, your eyes narrowed skeptically at her.
“Sixty-forty.” You bartered, which she laughed at. Nevertheless, she agreed.
“Fine.”
Once that had been decided, she wrapped her arms back around you and pulled you into her. She nestled her head into your neck and dotted kisses up and down it, before settling comfortably on the couch with you in her hold as she smiled into your skin, with daydreams of the two of you on Sant Jordi clouding her mind.
Then the day arrived, finally. It felt like you’d waited an age for it.
You were up as the sun rose, Alexia still away with the fairies in bed, and moving around the apartment as you checked your preparations for the millionth time. There was email after email on your phone, confirming your various orders of roses and their deliveries. Yellow ones for Ingrid, since she was your best friend and it felt wrong not to acknowledge how much you loved her on a day like today. Then some more for Jana and Aitana, who had helped you in planning and with where to get the best roses one could find in Barcelona, as well as their meaning. You felt endlessly grateful for everyone in your life, you’d give roses to them all if you could.
However, your main focus was the sleeping form in your bedroom, whom you were about to make breakfast in bed for. On the menu for her, a smoked salmon omlette with traditional Catalan toasted bread, and a coffee. Simple, but her favourite for a day-off. Except it was her favourite when… she made it. It wasn’t exactly your specialty, but you were going to give it a try, considering you wanted to surprise her.
And it worked, it didn’t come out half bad, and just as you’d served it up onto a breakfast tray for her with a coffee from the ridiculously fancy espresso machine she didn’t need (and took you months to learn just how to turn it on), the door rang with the most important delivery for the day. Her roses. Perfect timing for you to pick one out, wrap a Senyera ribbon around it, and put it on the tray with her breakfast.
She was still out for the count when you walked back in, on her side with an arm outstretched where you would lay, something that brought a smile to your face as you put the tray on her bedside table. You sat on the edge of the bed and gently nudged her shoulder, causing her to stir.
“Bon dia, Ale.” You whispered, hearing her usual grumble at being woken up before she naturally woke up. “Wake up, you’ve slept long enough.”
“Wow.” She huffed groggily, rolling onto her back and rubbing her face tiredly. As she did so, you leaned over and grabbed the rose, presenting it to her as she opened her eyes. Her grumpy expression faded instantly, replaced by one of shy gratitude as she reached out to take it. “Thank you, amor.”
“Feliç Sant Jordi.”
Sitting up properly, Alexia met you halfway as you leaned in with a hand on her thigh to steady yourself. A kiss full of tenderness, brimming excitement for the day ahead, was the best way to start her day. Even better? It was followed by breakfast cooked with care and a coffee brewed to perfection (you couldn’t take credit for that, it was the machine) that hit the spot for her. It was only early morning, and it was already her favourite one she’d celebrated so far.
“Happy first Sant Jordi.” Alexia grinned sleepily, gazing at you with an admiration like it was your first day on earth. “You did a good job with the rose, it’s beautiful.”
“I had some help.” You admitted sheepishly, to which she shrugged it off.
“Don’t care. Still your brain behind it.” She murmured, leaning back in again to steal another kiss from you. “I love you. Love everything about you. Happier than ever with you.”
“Shut up, eat your food.” You blushed, cheeks burning as she smirked at you before reaching for her coffee. “I love you too.”
“I can’t wait for you to see the city later.” Her eyes had a look of childlike wonder in them as she thought of what waited for you both outside the walls of your apartment. Before that, she had some bigger priorities she needed to deal with. She swallowed her mouthful of coffee before addressing you with a desperate question. “Did you leave time fo-”
“Yes, I left time for us to spend in bed after breakfast. Hurry up and eat, then we’ll have longer.”
The girl was nothing without lazy mornings in bed, wrapped up in each other. Neither were you.
A couple hours later, after time together in the peace of the bedroom and a quick trip to her mother’s, the pair of you were wandering the streets, hand in hand and taking in the relaxed nature of everyone that you passed. There was this mutual contentment which possessed each person that celebrated the holiday, something that you loved being around. You hadn’t even made it to the main parts Alexia wanted to take you to.
She looked different. More relaxed than you’d seen her. She was calm, fully in the moment, everything loud in her life far away from her mind. Not a second went by without a smile on her face, whether it be one that stretched across her cheeks or one that was simply an upwards quirk of her lip. You adored seeing her so happy, seeing how much she loved the day.
At first, the city didn’t seem too different. There were red petals scattered every few steps on the tiled ground, some fresh and some bruised, and there was something poetic about that you couldn’t quite put your finger on. The sun had decided to come out too, only adding to the atmosphere around. But apart from that, everything seemed normal. Just the early stirrings of Barna waking up.
Until you got closer and closer to the very heart of the city, where you turned one corner, and the streets became something else entirely. It was a slow unravelling of everything the day embodied; each person had a rose and a wheat sprig with an unbridled smile on their face, there was stall after stall as you stepped foot onto Passeig de Gràcia, tin buckets filled with bouquet after bouquet of flowers, wooden tables creaking under the weight of the countless books stacked on them. It was unlike anything you had ever seen.
Barcelona truly did look like something out of a fairytale, just like your girlfriend had rambled about.
“This is the best place to be.” Alexia murmured into your ear as you paused to take in everything that was happening ahead of you.
And like every time she’d declared something before, she really wasn’t wrong.
Despite the crowds, you didn’t feel overwhelmed, because every single individual was sharing the same passion, celebrating the same traditions, holding their love to a higher importance. It was addictive, you wished everyday was like it. You would be more than happy, consider yourself lucky even, to live in this city for the rest of your life.
You moved slowly through the street, another ripple in the current of people fascinated like you were. The scent of roses was strong, how could it not be with how many hundreds there were in every square meter, with the metallic echo of scissors cutting stems each time a fresh flower was bought for someone that was treasured by their company. Honestly, that might have been your favourite thing about it, like Alexia had said; the love was so easily shared, each person so deeply valued, it didn’t matter that you were all strangers because it didn’t feel like it there. With the contagion of love in the area, you felt bonded to everyone that passed by you. It was a weird phenomenon to feel such a way, but you didn’t question it. No one questioned it. That’s just what Sant Jordi was, that was its pride.
Alexia had given you a rose after breakfast, having hid a bouquet for you out on her balcony. Even if you had expected it, it still did something to your heart as she handed it over to you. However, neither of you had exchanged books yet. You had a plan you kept to yourself, and so did Alexia. Yours was the first that came to fruition.
One of her favourite authors had a stall that day where they were selling a new book Alexia had spoken about a number of times in the last few weeks. You had to, shamelessly, stalk her Amazon account to make sure she hadn’t pre-ordered it for herself. Fortunately, she didn’t, and the days since it was released ticked by without it suddenly making an appearance in her travel bag or on her coffee table. So when you saw the stall in question, the book standing out to you instantly on the table, you stopped the pair of you in place and turned to her with a beaming grin.
“Stay here.” You told her randomly, before rounding the corner and disappearing from her view.
She frowned, a little suspicious, but did as you said regardless. As she waited, she saw a stall for fresh churros with chocolate off in the distance, mouth already watering as she thought of them. Anyway, just as you’d demanded, she stayed where she was until you came back, twiddling with the rose she’d tucked into the pocket of her jacket over her chest whilst she took in the surroundings. All that crossed her mind was that this truly felt like home. It grounded her, a reminder of where she came from and what she was representing on the global stage that football was. And she was proud to do that, indescribably so.
“Close your eyes, hold your hands out.” You appeared in front of her again, hands behind your back as you waited for her to follow through on your instructions. Once she had done as you said, you placed the book into her hands, the seller having even gone one step further and tying a red ribbon around the item too. “Open.”
The brunette looked down at the gift and let out a tiny gasp, glancing back up at you in slight disbelief. There was something about not only being heard and seen by people in her life, but having someone actually do something with all they learnt that landed inside her with a quiet kind of significance.
“Mi amor.” She exhaled a shaky breath, a downturned smile on her face at the surprise. “Thank you. This is… thank you. You’re amazing.”
She drew you in for a tight embrace, there, in the middle of the avenue, where you couldn’t fend off the pleased grin that grew as a result of her reaction. Maybe she had wanted to buy it for herself which, to some, might have made it less of a surprise, but not to her. Things like this struck a chord within her, triggered that sentimental part of her that couldn’t ever really get over the fact people adore her so much they’d do something this thoughtful.
“I had to muddle through the limited Catalan I know to get it but… luckily I know how to say that I need a gift for my hot g-”
“Alright, you ruined it.” Alexia tutted, cutting you off with her words and a kiss that silenced your teasing pretty quickly. “You keep beating me to things, I need to step up my game.”
“God, you really have to turn everything into a competition.” You scoffed, to which she grinned and took hold of your hand again to start leading you both down the avenue.
“Of course. And I’m going to win myself back a goal by buying you the best churros you can find, right now.”
Suddenly, the most sickeningly sweet scent you’d ever experienced invaded your senses and you had to hold in a groan at the deliciousness of it as she slotted you both into the queue. Churros had fastly become one of your favourite treats, but not something you indulged in often since, obviously, you were a footballer and they weren’t exactly the most nutritious things in the world. When else was a better time to share some with your girlfriend than on Sant Jordi?
“You’re saying churros are better than your book?” You feigned a dejected expression and tone, feeling a tiny bit guilty at the panic on her face, but not when she wrapped an arm around your shoulders and grazed her lips against your temple.
“Never.” She reassured you, rolling her eyes when she heard you giggle. “You’re lucky I love you.”
Very lucky, it turned out, because she wasn’t lying when she said they were the best churros. For a little while longer, you walked along the avenue, your hand on her upper arm which held the cardboard tray, each of you picking from it every so often and laughing when some of the chocolate dripped down Alexia’s chin. You swiped it away with your thumb before letting her lick it off, not even ashamed about being that couple in public. You were in your own bubble, basking in the company and the devotion that thrived between you. It was quickly turning out to be one of your favourite days with her, maybe even ever in your life.
Shortly before you left Passeig de Gràcia, Alexia brought you to the place everybody wanted to see on Sant Jordi – Casa Batlló. It was front and center of the holiday, the photo that marked every headline in the news, and rightly so. Beautiful didn’t begin to cover it.
“Worth letting me plan the day, no?” Alexia joked quietly, standing behind you as you gazed up at the building. Her hands were low on your waist, thumbs stroking up and down. As the day ticked by, it got seemingly harder and harder for her to control her devotion, it was just overflowing from her.
“This place is amazing.” You stated in awe; the longer you looked at it, the more details you spotted. From that building alone, with so much history embedded into its architecture, was enough reason to love Sant Jordi. “I never knew all this about Barcelona and Catalunya when I joined.”
“Now you have me to show you. Every year, for the rest of our lives.” She spoke soothingly, the words meant for you and you only. This woman.
“Somebody is really in their feels today, huh.”
You were joking about it, but the whole day it’d set you alight. Never had being in a relationship felt so right to you. You were certain that you hadn’t known love before her, and she was really taking advantage of the holiday to show exactly how she felt towards you. God only knows you were feeling the same about her.
“What better day to do it? I love you. Let me love on you.” She replied, raw, vulnerable, honest. Her openness was one of the things you adored most about her, she never shied away from saying exactly what was on her mind.
“Never said you couldn’t.”
With her hands that sat on your hips, she span you around to face her, drawing you in closer just a bit. Her gaze was intense, communicating things that you didn’t want to share with anyone else, wanting to keep it between the two of you.
“Your book.” She said out of nowhere, dragging you out of your thoughts and back to the present. One hand slipped away, reaching behind her back and presenting a small book, small enough to fit in her jeans pocket. You scanned over it, not quite sure what it was. “It’s a poetry book in Catalan. A lot of my favourites, some that are really important to me. Some that I’ve shared with you before and some that I haven’t yet because they feel too special to speak aloud, too sacred to translate. I wanted you to read it because it’s everything I’ve never said. But it’s always been for you, about you. And, I don’t know, maybe you’ll read the things in there and… think of me.”
You didn’t answer, not right away. You stared at her, then the book, and back to her. The object turned from something light, like a feather in your hands, to something heavy with a pulse. This was the closest she could get to giving you her heart.
No part of you could quite comprehend how esteemed and dear this gift was. Whether the crowds were dying down or you were just honed in on the book and your girlfriend, but it was like the world around you knew not to intrude on such a moment. Nothing ceased to exist outside this pocket of time where you stood, with the woman you love, in the city that raised her, and a piece of her soul in your possession.
One deep breath, then two, before you blinked and a tear fell. You didn’t wipe it away. She did.
“I don’t know what to say, Ale.” You whispered as if afraid that a decibel higher would steal the memory away from you. “This is everything to me.”
You couldn’t believe she had chosen you to share this part of her with.
“You’re everything to me. That’s what I wanted to show you.” Came her response, in a soft, dulcet tone. Her knuckle wiped away another tear. “Don’t cry outside of Casa Batlló, that is so guiri of you.”
Her humour broke through your astonishment and caused you to burst out into tearful laughter, the brunette joining you instantly. You tucked the book against your chest, coincidentally right over your heart without even thinking, before rushing forward to get a hug from her. She accepted it immediately, leaning her forehead against your temple, her heart rate higher than ever from the nerves she felt at giving you her book. In that silence, punctuated periodically by your sniffles of disbelief, she held you. Like she always did.
It was a miracle that the pair of you made it to the dinner you’d booked later that evening. You with your emotions and Alexia with her lack of restraint at keeping her hands to herself.
You did make it, though, of which you were glad for. Not only because you were hungry after a day of walking and a few too many tears, but also because the restaurant you’d booked a table at was difficult enough to find a reservation for, nevermind on Sant Jordi too. It was one of Alexia’s favourites and yours too, a surefire way to cap off the day successfully.
Neither of you could stand being away from each other for a second; had anyone been with you for the duration of the day, it would have been sickening for them to see. But you just didn’t care. You sat in the same side of the booth at dinner, either with hands linked, a hand on the other’s thigh, or knees touching as you used your cutlery, like a couple that hadn’t seen in each other a year, not one that had spent the last twelve hours constantly in each other’s company. Dinner was perfect, the company even better, and the aftermath back at home just to top it all off.
Together, you ended the night with a bath. A cliche, rom-com type setting, with low light and candles and glasses of champagne seated next to each other on the ledge of it. You had your back against her chest, her legs caging yours, with her arm around your waist. In her hand, the book you’d given her. In yours, the poems in her mother tongue you were slowly making your way through with a little help here and there.
You wanted the day to last forever.
Instead, midnight was drawing near, the water was cooling, and yawns kept sounding from the pair of you as you read your books. Eventually, you heard the gentle sound of Alexia closing her book echo through the bathroom, before she carefully dropped it to the tiled floor. Both her arms came to wrap around your torso then, her head ducking down to scatter kisses across your shoulder, back, neck, any bit of skin she could comfortably reach. Then, in a low, coarse, tired voice-
“Best Sant Jordi ever.”

Let’s Get Married
Inspired by Let’s Get Married by Jagged Edge
Tumblr media
Sylus adored everything about you. The way you brushed your teeth, the way you laughed, even the way you tripped over the same spot in the base that’s been there forever. He couldn’t not love you. You’ve given him every reason to love you. He loves how you love the boys, he loves how you are eventually able to get along with Mephisto.
He loves that you reassure him on his baddest days. He loves that you take care of him the same way he takes care of you. He could make an endless list of reasons he loved you but then he’d be writing even on his deathbed. You were both slow dancing to one of his many records. He was teaching you how to waltz which turned into you guys just feeling the music.
He stared down at you in admiration. You weren’t done up or in your hunters uniform but laid back and yourself. Your hair was tousled from the long day and you were in your loungewear. A soft smile makes its way onto Sylus’ lips. He was a man of extravagance that much was true but he was also for living in the moment. You take your head off his chest to look at him. You giggle at the fact he was already looking at you with those piercing red eyes.
“What?” You giggle softly, “Is there something on my face?” Sylus just chuckles before sighing.
“Marry me.” He mumbles making you both stop swaying. Did he really just ask you that? Right now?
“Are you serious?” You whisper as if the air was knocked out of you. He smiles making you clutch his hand tighter.
“I don’t joke about things like this.” He assures you, “I’ll do a grander gesture another time. This moment was too perfect to pass up.” He reassured you in case you thought he didn’t care enough to make the gesture.
“Yes.” You whimper as tears sprang to your eyes. He held you close letting the tears run down your face. This is what made life worth living.
Tumblr media
Caleb has watched you grow into someone so brave it puts him to shame at times. He can’t help but admire everything you do. He’s always seen a future with you away from Linkon. A nice house, a dog or two, maybe even a kid. Whatever you wanted he would give you. He knew he wanted this, forever. There wasn’t a doubt in his mind.
You were both watching Gnomeo and Juliet, a movie you guys hadn’t watched since you were kids. Caleb wanted some nostalgia tonight like he does many other nights. You were curled into his side as you both watched the scene of Gnomeo and Juliet meeting. Caleb couldn’t help himself.
“Marry me.” He blurted out, “please.” He whispers but you just stare at him.
“Does Elton John get you in that mood or something?” You question him. What is he thinking? How does this movie make him think that?
“No I’ve been thinking about it for a while.” He sighs, his nerves setting in. “There’s nothing I want more in this world than to call you my wife.”
You were stunned, not shocked because you’ve seen a future with Caleb. You always have but you never knew when to bring it up to him. Your heart was pounding as you stared at him which didn’t help his nerves at all. What did you have to lose? You both wanted the same thing.
“Yes—yeah, of course.” You ramble making him laugh and pull you into a hug. He kissed your forehead twice and squeezed you tighter. You just made him the happiest man on earth.
Tumblr media
You and Xavier were baking, well you were baking and he was passing you ingredients. His cooking got a lot better which was great for you but you didn’t trust him enough to cook alone. You guys were baking some desserts for the hunters association party on tomorrow. You both were having fun and covered in flour and batter. Xavier was making your job a bit harder because he kept ‘tasting’ the mix. You didn’t mind much though because you enjoyed spending time with him. You did tell him to slow down on the eating because you didn’t want him to get a stomachache.
After taking the cake out of the oven, you high five Xavier. He smiles at how happy you were about you guys’ accomplishment. He loved how positive you were about everything. You always found a bright side even if it seemed like there wasn’t one. He knew he loved you when he started staring at you longingly. You put him in a daze just by being you. You occupied his thoughts no matter what was going on.
“We should get married.” He spoke without thinking but he didn’t regret it. You stared at him with wide eyes not fully processing what he just said. Was he proposing? Was he crazy? So many questions and not enough answers.
“Have we been in the kitchen too long?” You ask genuinely. Maybe the fumes were getting to him and he needed to step onto the balcony.
“No.” He laughs before leaning on his elbows on the kitchen counter. His voice became softer as he spoke, “I want to spend the rest of my life with you, if you’ll have me.”
Your jaw was on the floor. You spend the rest of your life with him? This had to be some sort of fever dream. Xavier was straightforward but this was surprising even for him. You couldn’t gather words as he just watched you fumble. You settled with an enthusiastic nod, too tongue tied to give a verbal answer. He smiles at your answer before rounding the counter to kiss you. He was extremely happy that you said yes.
Tumblr media
Rafayel can shout from the rooftops about how much he loves you. It would be pointless considering just about everyone in Linkon knows it. He can’t not bring you up whenever he’s having a conversation. He will find anyway to squeeze you in there. He would tattoo it on his chest if he were into it. There is no him without you.
On this particular day he was to unveil an art piece he had been working on for weeks. You knew it was special when he wouldn’t even show you. It intrigued you what was until that veil. Could it be another environmental piece? A new color perhaps? Only time will tell.
Rafayel unveiled the piece for you and immediately your jaw was on the floor. It was of you and him, he dipped you as you held a bouquet of flowers. His nose nuzzled in your neck as you laughed. Anyone would think this was a portrait of a distant memory but no he painted your future together. You felt your heart skip a beat at the sight. He was proving himself to you in the most beautiful way possible.
“I want nothing more than to wake up to you everyday. Go to sleep with you there everyday.” He starts making your lips tremble. He tilts your chin up to look at his watery eyes, “Marry me?” He asks his voice shaky as he spoke.
“Of course.” You smile wiping your eyes, he holds you close as you fall into his arms. This was a moment that would be engraved into his mind for the rest of his life.
Tumblr media
Many thought of Zayne as boring, nonchalant and so forth and so on. Not to you, never to you. He was expressive you just had to get to know him first. He’s thoughtful, kind and caring, many of the reasons why you love him. He loved you for some of the same reasons and even smaller ones than that. He loved the way you’d curl into him unconsciously when you guys were in bed. He loved the way you’d make him lunch with a cute note inside. He loved how you loved him unconditionally. Even when his evol first went out of control in front of you, you didn’t run away or cower away from him, rather you helped him through it.
You guys were basking in the night sky as fireworks exploded in the sky. He could’ve been watching the sky and how it lit up beautifully yet he only saw you. The fireworks reflecting off your eyes as you sat in awe at the different colors and designs it spewed. He felt so content in your presence no matter what you did together. You quickly tap his hand and point to the huge explosion filled with orange, pinks and purples. How could he not want to spend the rest of his life with you? Music played in the background as he felt you lean into him.
“Where do you see yourself in the future, Zayne.” You murmured as the fireworks calmed down. He sighs as his lips tugged upwards.
“I see myself…still being a surgeon however, I’ll have something more.” He hints making you furrow your brows. You look at him curiously wondering what he meant.
“A promotion?” You questioned. He was at the top what else could he want? Did he want to own a hospital of his own?
“Yes, you can call it that.” He teased making you narrow your eyes as they dart around. You were thinking to yourself all the possibilities he could mean. He cupped your cheeks bringing you closer to him.
“I want the next stage in my life to be an important milestone…together.” He clasps you and his hands together. Your eyes search his before they widen in shock, “You don’t know how much you mean to me. I will spend the rest of my life showing you how much.” He softly spoke placing his forehead on yours.
You felt your water line fill as you thought about it. You didn’t think he wanted a life with you. You didn’t know why but it never crossed your mind. Living in the moment was all you wanted to do with him. Not push him for change or nag him about anything like that. Being here with him right now was enough for you. Always.
“We’re getting married?” You breathe making his eyes soften as he chuckles.
“Only if you want to.” He murmured kissing your hand. You felt the tears fall as you try and stop them. He stares at you fondly, his heart beating for you.
“Of course I want to. What kind of question is that?” You cry as he chuckles before hugging you and kissing the crown of your head a few times. The fireworks explode above you sealing the moment in your hearts forever.

Angry Dialogue
Part I
"You had one job, and you still managed to mess it up!"
"I trusted you, and this is how you repay me?"
"Are you happy now that you ruined it all?"
"Don't you dare walk away while I'm talking to you!"
"Is this all just a joke to you?"
"Great, this is just great, so perfect."
"Do you actually believe the bullshit you're saying?"
"It's so frustrating trying to talk to you!"
"Oh, so now it's my fault? How convenient!"
"I can't believe I ever trusted you!"
"You think a simple 'sorry' will fix this?"
"How could you do this to me?"
"Do you even care how much you are hurting me?"
"This is absolutely not what I signed up for!"
"Stop blaming me for your mistakes!"
"You never listen—ever!"
"I can't believe you thought I wouldn't find out."
"Are you seriously trying to justify this?"
"Oh, you want to fight me? You're so immature!"
"Nothing you say can make this right!"

Simon Riley posts an ad for a stray cat he does not want and you answer.

Next time.
Next time we can prepare more.
The sentence played on repeat in Simon’s mind, laid awake in his bed the night he invited you in, the remnants of the warmth stinging his chest. He rationalized that it was just fresh in his mind, that he was reading too much into an insinuation. Hoped he would forget those stupid six words in the morning.
Except that the coming week, his mind was like a broken record. Had to keep re-hooking the needle when he got caught in the stubborn loop.
Next time, next time, next time.
He’s sure it meant nothing, a slip of the tongue, just being polite. The sweet thing that you are. Maybe you’re just referring to the next time Churro finds her way to his house and that’s it.
That’s all.
But what he had submerged for so long became insistent. Gnawed at his skin, burnt an itch behind his fingertips after he grew into the routine of seeing you every week, even if it was for a cat. After it became more, unearthed something in him as you sat on his couch.
Still, he finds himself at the market, a concoction of ingredients in his cart with your words ringing in his ears. Tells himself he’s just going to cook dinner for himself, that there’s no ulterior motive when a small bag of cat treats finds itself amongst his groceries. Nothing more than an accident.
When Simon returns home, Churro is already waiting for him, rubs herself against his ankles with a happy meow in greeting. He has to weave through her the best he can with the paper bags in his arms, grumbles at her to move so he doesn’t squash her. Messages you as soon as he’s inside— ‘the demon’s here again.’
He doesn’t cook much, hasn’t made a homemade meal for himself in months, so he’s more than a little rusty. Maybe he overshot this idea, doesn’t exactly know what to cook, and he’s quite overwhelmed at the excess bags on his counter that Churro curiously sniffs— ‘What food does pretty cat lady like? Huh, do you know what your mom likes, pest?’
It’s not like Churro could actually respond besides more rummaging in his ingredients he has to shoo away. So, he sticks with what he knows, what he’s comfortable with, Shepherd’s pie.
You arrive just as he’s setting it in the oven, greet him with the same pretty smile that makes him salivate like a dog starved.
“Hi!” You greet, pausing when you notice Churro isn’t in his hands, “Churro still here?”
“She is,” He nods, gripping the wood of his door just a little tighter in anticipation, “Do you want to come in?”
You look at him a little taken aback, eyes widening slightly.
He clears his throat, bashfully continuing because he doesn’t take your silence as a good response, “I can actually feed you this time. I’m makin’ dinner, Shepherds pie.”
He realizes he should’ve thought differently when a smirk began to form on your lips. “Did the big scary man make me dinner?”
His eyes squint, but he doesn’t deny it, “Pushin’ your luck there, cat lady.”
You giggle, hiding your smile behind your hand, but you nod, “Yeah. Yes, of course.”
The first thing you do is call for Churro, squatting down to capture her in your arms when she prances around the corner with an excited trill. Spend entirely too long pampering her with kisses and snuggles.
“Hi, pretty lady! I missed you today. Did you have fun travels?”
Churro meows like she’s confirming your words and follows the both of you into the kitchen. You eye the mess on the counters slowly, arching your eyebrow at him. He can’t even pretend it’s not a mess, cooking is definitely not a calming experience for him.
He shrugs, “ ‘ts a process.”
“Mmmhh,” You hum, “Wasn’t talking about that.”
Simon’s brows furrow, following your line of sight right to the cat treats sticking out of a grocery bag.
“Neighbor lady gave ‘em to me,” He lies nonchalantly, tucking them deeper into the bag out of sight.
You chuckle in disbelief, “You don’t have to pretend. It’s a good thing! Cats are a good judge of character.”
“Not good enough,” He retorts, pointing at Churro, “That cat should be afraid of me.”
“Well, she’s not, and I don’t think she should be,” You say, picking her up, “She decided you’re one of her two person’s.”
You lean forward, pressing Churro’s paws against his chest, “She knows there’s a good cuddly cat person under all of this stoicism and muscle.”
Simon does his best to control himself, has to dig his teeth into his tongue to stop his lips from betraying him and outright smiling when the both of you stare up at him with beady eyes. Churro bulldozes her head into his chest, demanding snuggles, validating your words further. He willingly accepts her in his arms, tells himself it’s only because he likes the way you beam up at him when he does, pleased and content.
You grab one of the treats from the bag, holding the squeezable package to Churro’s mouth. Maybe he should be offended that you just assume the treats are for Churro. Maybe he should push the damn cat out of his arms, doesn’t want either of you to get any ideas that he cares for it, because he doesn’t. But he does like your proximity, so he lets you continue. Churro making quiet noises of contentment as she licks the cream.
You coo more babied words to her, but he’s not entirely sure what you’re saying. Can’t really focus when you’re being such a sweet thing so close to him, when he can almost smell the lotion on your skin and not the pungent cat treat. He just has to pretend there isn’t a cat stuck between the two of you, that he can actually take you into his arms, feel human skin and not cat fur. Feed you instead of the damn cat.
The moment feels like a trance, dragging incredibly slow as he takes the time to trace his eyes over the curves of your face, the shape of your lips that are definitely telling him something that he can’t quite register. He doesn’t even hear the sound of the oven beeping, or smell his shepherd’s pie slowly burning.
“Simon!” You call louder, “Your food! I think it’s burning.”
Churro’s plopped back into your hands with urgency, rushing to pull the pie out of the oven, cursing under his breath because your stupid cat managed to distract him, ruin the food he had planned for you just as she always managed to inconvenience him.
He’s grateful it isn’t completely burnt, the mashed potatoes topping more brown than golden, just a little more toasted than necessary. Probably dried up all the flavor, seared the taste away, but when he looks up at you, a little embarrassed at the whole ordeal, you’re just smiling at him, gleaming at the pie in his hands with reverence.
When he serves you a portion, he mumbles his apologies, that he let it bake a little longer than intended, but you shake your head, reassuring him that it looks perfect, tastes even better. Nodding your head earnestly with cheeks full of mashed potatoes and beef, Worcestershire sauce on your smiling lips.
He knows it’s not perfect, far from it, could’ve done pounds better, but he decides your reaction is worth it. Makes the food melt down his throat and settle thick in his stomach, full, but the pie isn’t the only reason why warmth swirls in his veins, why the nerves in his body are tamed, why he feels so complete.
The sensation goes unspoken between the two of you, but it only worsens and intensifies tenfold when it becomes a routine, when Churro’s presence at his home promises a night shared with you. Dinner, watching some show you like, snuggled on his couch like you belonged there, Churro curled between the both of you just as content.
It makes Churro’s presence at his door a pleasant thing, makes him hope to see the four-legged animal on his porch when he comes home from work or hear an annoying meow. Maybe it’s a bit pathetic, but he starts to schedule his days around you and that damn cat. Didn’t make plans on Friday when it seemed that was the day Churro chose to make her way to his house. Only gets snickers and sneers from Johnny when he turns down his invites to wait for you and a pest.
He doesn’t give it any mind, not when the outcome outweighs Johnny’s Scottish teasing. When his previously empty couch gets a designated spot just for you, thinks of you anytime he sees the shallow indents in the cushions in your absence. When one coaster on his coffee table becomes two, drinks he doesn’t care for fill his fridge, a blanket folded over his couch for you and Churro, a pantry of cat treats, and fawn-colored fur stuck to his black clothes becomes a constant.
He doesn’t even care that you start to send pictures of Churro to him throughout the week, actually looks forward to the message icon. Has a few of his own he shares of her— a couple just of you he keeps tucked away for himself.
He feels a little guilty taking pictures of you, but that changes as soon as you send him a picture of Churro curled on his chest, both fast asleep on his couch, especially when you use it as evidence that he likes Churro.
Except he really can’t defend himself too much anymore in that department, not when the nicknames ‘demon’ and ‘devil’ turn into whispered ‘pretty lady’ and ‘sweet girl’ when you’re not there. When you joke that the two of you are “co-parenting” her and he doesn’t disagree.
Just doesn’t tell you that he wishes it was more.

I believe Bobby is coming back from the dead because I think we deserve to live in a world where Kenneth Choi gets to act his ass off by playing a simultaneously relieved/joyous and angry/furious Chimney, who feels like he has to thank Bobby, but also scream at him until his throat is sore because it wasn't fair to make that decision! he's going to say they should have played rock, paper, scissors and Bobby will chuckle because he thinks he's joking like silly haha Chimney, but Chimney is like "no, we should have discussed it, you died and I didn't even get to say thank you. you died and I owed you a debt I didn't even know about. you let me carry that" and he has to wrestle with the guilt of knowing that Bobby would do that for him, not just theoretically, but actual concrete proof that Bobby would die to save him. which they all know on some surface level that they'd die for one another, but it feels like such a far-off concept until it isn't. but Chimney also has to deal with the gratitude because Chimney is also so incredibly thankful that he didn't die. every step of the way he wanted Ravi, Bobby, Buck, and Athena to commit crimes, because he loves his life and he wants to keep living it. he's so overjoyed that he got to go home to his wife and kid, and that comes with its own guilt because how can he be so happy to be home when Bobby DIED. does that make him a monster? that on some level he's HAPPY that Bobby did that? and now he has to FACE Bobby. so he tries to be the Before Chimney who gets people whimsical gifts, but how do you give someone balloons about choosing your life over theirs? and he spirals because he's different now and Bobby is here and he has so so much he wants to say but all of it feels contradictory and unfair and he would normally go to Bobby for advice. so he does. he goes to Bobby and he says "what would you do, if you were in my position?" and Bobby just says "whatever you need to say or feel, I understand" and that just makes Chimney even more upset because what he needs is for none of this to have ever happened. its like they all got a re-do, but kept the memories and the feelings and now he has nowhere appropriate to put them. anyway, Bobby lives and we get Chimney angst yay <3 forever and ever.

depraved horny blurb
brought to you by this post
this is just pure nastiness you've been warned
Tumblr media
Joel Miller Anal Pain Kink blurb
pairing: Joel Miller x inexperienced!reader rating: 18+ explicit WC: 850 content: anal, sexually inexperienced reader, innocence kink, pain kink, daddy kink, touch of humiliation kink, dirty talk, implied established relationship with girthy, legal age gap
Tumblr media
A bead of sweat drips from the tip of Joel’s nose onto your heaving, bare chest.
“Gotta relax or it makes it tighter, honey,” he grits, not sounding at all like dislikes the way your hole struggles to accommodate his size.
“M’trying,” you hiss.
“Gonna tear somethin’ up if you keep clenchin’ like that,” he warns, again a half-hearted caution.
Ever since Joel discovered just how sexually inexperienced you were, he relished in being your first. He quickly honed in on the fact that you’d never had anything in your ass before. The idea of claiming that hole all but consumed him. It had been enough of a process getting your pussy wet enough to take his girth, and you were sore for the entire next day. You knew it’d be even worse with the other hole.
But you’d learned to seek out the pleasure in the hurt. Pushing through it until you broke through to the other side of bliss. Joel always leaned into the pain. He checked in, but he always got that look in his eye that told you everything you already knew: he liked to watch you struggle to take him. His dark brown eyes clouded like an eclipse when you’d choke and gag on him. He licked at your tears when you’d whine and cry as he slammed into you. He’d goad you with his foul mouth and how you alway felt a little humiliated and a little turned on when he’d mock your futile efforts.
You tap haphazardly at his wrist until he gets the message and slows his pace. His entire chest grumbles with a dark, heady moan as he slowly pulls out of you.
“Fuck,” he breathes. “It’s all red, baby. Got you all stretched out. It’s stayin’ open now.”
“It stings,” you whine.
“Poor baby,” he tuts, not entirely sympathetic. “So hard takin’ this cock up your ass, huh? Worried you’re gonna make daddy sad if you don’t learn to take it?”
“I don’t want you to be sad, but it’s really hard.”
“Just keep thinkin’ about how much daddy loves watching that hole gape, baby girl. We’ll get you a nice, warm bath after daddy’s done, okay? And daddy’s cum’ll help it feel better, too.”
“Really?” you squeak, hopeful for reprieve as Joel slowly slides his length back into your worn out ring of muscle.
“Yeah, baby girl, I promise. M’gonna fuck it again now, okay? You just relax and take it for daddy. Let daddy know how much you’re trying.”
You whine as his pace picks up. The stinging turns to pinching heat and grows warmer as he fucks harder and harder.
“It hurts, daddy,” you cry out.
“Yeah? What hurts, baby girl?” he pants, pulling all the way out just to breach the rim once again and fill you to the hilt in one harsh, sweeping motion.
“Your cock hurts, daddy!” you squeal when he angles your hips up so he can drive deeper. “It’s burning now!”
“S’burnin’ because you’re doin’ so good. Lettin’ daddy use your hole to make him happy. Such a good girl for me. Squeezin’ me so tight. Gonna be wide open after this, baby girl.”
Tears slip down your temples as you try to breathe through it and let him take what he needs. No matter how much you thought you couldn’t take it, you always managed to do it. It gave you a weird sense of pride knowing how much you’d learned to take for him. And it always felt good to be showered with affection and love after he took what he needed.
“I think–” you gasp as the pain still doesn’t slip into that foggy headed pleasure “–I think I need your cum. To help – I – you said it would help–”
Joel lets out an unhinged sound, thrusts growing sloppy and hurried. “Yeah? You want daddy’s cum all over your ass to help it feel better? Need it leakin’ outta you, huh? Let it drip all over the burn?”
“Please, daddy! It really hurts!” you sob.
“Keep beggin’ for it, baby girl. M’close.”
“I need your cum, daddy! Please come and make it feel better,” you whimper. “It’s too tight for you to fit. It burns so bad!”
“Fuck yeah, I know it does. Gettin’ your ass torn up by daddy’s fat cock. Gonna be all ripped open now. Got it all fucked open now.”
You rub at your clit in an effort to find pleasure somewhere in it all, but it’s just hot, raw pain. And then, release. Joel unloads into your wrecked hole with a guttural moan, never easing up until every last drop has been drained into you. You wince and whine when he pulls out and pushes back in until he’s gone soft.
“Did so good for me,” he pants against your temple as he catches his breath. “Always do so good for me.”
It’s that sentiment that makes it all worth it, even later as you shiver and hiss into your warm bath that you know isn’t going to do much to ease where Joel had claimed you.

FIRST DATE JITTERS ☆ MIYA ATSUMU
Tumblr media
atsumu swears he isn’t crazy.
yes, he’s talking to himself while standing in the middle of his very empty apartment, right at the epicenter of the mess he’s made with his own hands. a lamp gifted to him by his mom is on its side on the floor, the lampshade permanently dented now—the flung shoes that had knocked it over are beside it, the toes pointing right at him to further prove that it was entirely his doing.
rumpled blankets are hanging off the foot of the bed, touching the floor while they’re weighed down by all of the clothes he’s dragged out of his closet. somehow, his high school jersey made it into the mix. god, like he’d ever wear that to a date.
atsumu slams down on the dial button again and waits impatiently, starting to fidget as the low tone of the phone drones into his ear. if he gets sent to voicemail one more fucking time—
“what do ya want, tsumu?” osamu’s grumble crackles through the phone, accompanied by the sounds of talking and clinking dishes. “ya only called me nineteen fuckin’ times. should’a known it was only a matter a’time before ya called the fuc—ahem, the restaurant.”
“answer yer phone an’ i wouldn’t have’ta call ya so many goddamn times! listen, i need yer help with something, i’ve gotta pick up a date in a half hour and i—”
“tsumu has a wittle date, huh?” on the other side, osamu ignores the weird looks from customers and his own staff members as he pitches his voice. “and ya just had ta make it my problem. i’m not comin’ over there, ya need to deal with it yerself.”
atsumu sighs indignantly, practically blowing steam out through his nostrils like a wild bison. his brother is really, really getting on his last nerve, but he doesn’t want to show up at your place with a vein bulging out of his forehead, so he tries to calm himself. “if ya’d just listen ta me, ya’d understand that i need some help choosing what ta wear. my apartment’s a fuckin’ mess right now, which coulda been prevented if ya picked up earlier, goddamn it!”
he shouts the last of it and hopes that osamu doesn’t hang up and instead senses his plight with the hard-wired brotherly instincts they both share.
“sorry, what was that? the restaurant’s real busy, i think i might have to get back to it.”
“i need yer advice! i don’t know what i should wear ta pick her up, so stop messin’ around and help me. yer the one who’s been on more dates anyway, ya scrub.”
osamu sighs, probably fidgeting with the phone cord as he contemplates giving in and helping out. this is the first time his brother has called with this much desperation over a date, of all things—he honestly thought that atsumu would get better at this whole song and dance once he made it onto msby. he supposes it’s a good thing that he’s the one atsumu is calling, and it’s a nice little ego boost too.
anyway, between the two of them, he’s always had an easier time talking to and wooing women. you’ve come up in their conversations a few times before, but atsumu tends to drone on about how much he likes you, so osamu pointedly avoids the topic. as much as osamu loves him, he knows that his brother can be a bit much—awkwardly making jokes when he first meets someone, describing volleyball to them against their will, and worse, texting back too quickly to start up more torturous conversations.
but from what atsumu’s divulged to him over the phone, osamu understands that you are a perfect match for his brother. you balance out all of his excitement and listen to his volleyball stories—even laughing genuinely at a few of them—in a way that nobody has before. osamu wants his brother to be happy, and he also wants to be the one credited with bringing the two of you together (he can see this working out in the long run).
“m’kay, tsumu, open yer ears and listen closely. got it?”
atsumu’s trying not to start sweating and ruin the results of what ended up being an hour long shower; you unknowingly send him a friendly text letting him know you’re ready to go and awaiting him. “yeah, i got it . . samu, fuck, she’s sayin’ she’s ready and—”
osamu snaps into the serious, focused persona he usually reserves for when he’s crammed in the kitchen during a holiday rush hour. “ignore her text an’ tell me what yer options are. i assume yer takin’ her ta dinner, right?”
“fancy place over on eleventh street. both of ‘em are dress shirts, but it’s between dark blue, white, and—”
“dark blue, tsumu. make sure it has a goddamn collar, you ain’t going ta a team dinner.”
atsumu frowns as he holds up the shirt, scanning over the fabric for a single wrinkle. he got everything he could find dry cleaned just for this moment and steamed—three dress shirts, two pairs of pants, a vest, and two ties. you’re probably sitting on the couch at home, waiting for a text back in your pretty dress, completely unaware of the fact that he’s spiraling. seeing the dry cleaning bill plus the rush charge on top of it made him take a lap around the parking lot, but he returned brandishing his card, reminding himself that this much effort would totally be worth it. “‘m gonna go with the black pants. should i wear a vest too or will she laugh at me?”
osamu winces, sucking in a sharp breath at the thought. this is a risky maneuver, but it should be fine if he balances it out with a nice tie. one of his waitresses is mouthing a plea for help toward him, and he’s trying to let her know he needs two more minutes max.
“samu, come on,” his voice gets whiny and he stamps his foot on the carpet in frustration. “‘m getting sweaty already.”
“deodorant before ya put anything on, don’t wanna take her breath away with yer stench. match the vest ta the pants, make sure ya got clean socks on.”
“oh, fuck off! i always wear clean socks, it was only that one time.” atsumu is currently rifling through his drawers for a pair of clean socks without patterns in case you end up seeing them later on, and he finally comes up with a tight ball of fabric. he holds it up like it’s a gold nugget, the eureka of the decade, and then remembers that nobody is in the apartment with him.
“look, tsumu, i gotta go. remember ta be a gentleman ‘n hold doors, pull chairs, all that.”
atsumu’s face drops while he’s in the middle of pulling his socks on. he starts to protest uselessly, growing more panicked with every word that tumbles out of his mouth. “samu, oh my god. she’s gonna look really fuckin’ good, how do i compliment her? what if i start chokin’ when we’re eatin’ and i embarrass myself? i need ya ta talk ta me, i really like her and—”
“tsumu, breathe. no need ta get so damn worked up, it’s jus’ a date. be yerself an’ use yer judgment. ya got it in the bag, don’t sweat it.”
osamu considers that this may be the wrong choice of words, because atsumu groans and pops off the cap of what is probably a stick of deodorant. dejected, his brother mumbles a goodbye and a thanks, not wanting to hang up himself.
“wear a blue tie. send me some pictures, ‘kay? try yer best not ta look like a scrub, dude. good luck with her, yer gonna be fine.”
atsumu is quick to follow his brother’s instructions after applying one too many layers of deodorant. when he’s fully dressed, he takes a mirror photo and sends it to osamu’s cell, then texts you that he’s heading over to pick you up for dinner. he sprays a small amount of cologne and adjusts his too-tight tie before heading out the door, his tummy flipping nervously.
it is only soothed when you open the door with a smile on your face, right after a single knock. atsumu looks as handsome as ever, outfitted in a tantalizing combination of blue and black. his cheeks are a dusty pink, and they only darken when he respectfully tries to take in the beauty of your dress.
he clears his throat, snapping out of his daze, and offers you his arm, a cute though awkward grin splitting across his face. “yer just . . god, yer breathtakin’. so beautiful.”
you laugh as you take his arm, cheeks warming. “you clean up pretty well yourself, atsumu.”
“wait, what?” you cackle in disbelief, laughing breathlessly as osamu nods seriously. “no way, he really called you and begged you for your help?”
“yeah, he tore the fuckin’ place up all because he couldn’t make a decision. hey, tsumu, tell her how much ya spent on dry cleanin’.”
atsumu flares indignantly, cheeks burning with a visible glow as he sets down the wine glasses a little harder than he should. “samu, i know we’re gettin’ married, but that was two goddamn years ago. ya didn’t even help me that much, my tie was tangled and—”
you gasp in surprise, recounting the events of your first date. “baby, is that why i had to loosen it for you? it was so tight, i’m surprised you didn’t suffocate and keel over on the way up to my apartment.”
atsumu dramatically turns his head to the side, tipping his nose up in disdain. he did nearly choke himself out with the tie that had been a birthday gift from an msby teammate, but in his defense, he was rushing out the door and had only ever worn ties tied by either his mom or osamu. “maybe if i did, i wouldn’t have’ta sit here while you throw dirt all over my name, samu. and you, babe, yer laughin’ at me.”
osamu pours himself a glass of wine and watches as you console his brother, hugging him tightly. “mm mm, tsumu. i’m only laughing because i think all of the effort you put into that date was sweet. i didn’t look it, but i was almost as nervous as you were.”
eyes gleaming with hopefulness, atsumu softens and looks at you with a small smile. “really? yer not just tryin’ ta apologize for disparagin’ me in front of samu?”
“i promise,” and then you tilt his face toward your own, brushing your lips against his in what is clearly the beginning of a lovey-dovey kiss.
osamu sits back with the wine glass in his hand, then starts to gag and retch loudly when atsumu purposefully kisses you more passionately. “urk! i know yer gettin’ married next month, but everybody else an’ i don’t wanna see all that.”
instead of saying anything, atsumu lets his middle finger speak for the two of you.
inspired by this! haikyuu fluff will always be special to me <3

Had this thought… Simon who starts dating reader but her son 14-18 (older teen) is hella protective of her. Simon sees himself in the kid and is incredibly proud of the boy, caring for his mum and being all “You have to get through me to get to her.” So Simon’s gotta win the kid over first THEN the reader? 👀
I love this idea because like
Regardless of her own shortcomings as a parent, Simon’s mom still tried. She wanted his life to be good. And he definitely saw her, on more than one occasion, bawling even though she tried so hard to never let him see. Because she wanted him to be a baby boy for just a little longer— she wasn’t ready to see the weight of the world tearing him down by the shoulders. She cried because there was never enough. Not of anything. Food to put on the table, money in the bank, his father’s patience, time to keep the house and raise her boys, the energy to do the simplest things in the world. Not enough of herself left to give away to those she always put first.
So yeah, if you badmouthed Simon’s mom when he was in school? You’d be lucky getting away with a black eye.
And if there’s anything Simon loves, it’s instinct. He likes your son. He really does like that your son sees him as a potential threat, as a point of caution. Simon probably barely got out a “Not tryna replace your da-“ before your son was like “I don’t give a fuck about that. You stay away from my mom.”
He doesn’t like that you’ve been hurt before. That you have a son that thinks he needs to protect you— that he’s had to live a life on edge because he’s seen so much happen to you. But he can relate. And he’s happy you had someone to depend on. That your son doesn’t lack the courage to stand up to people for you.
And honestly? Loyalty goes both ways. I’ve always found that trope in movies, where a parent is going to remarry someone their kid doesn’t like, to be strange. I think for most single parents, if the kid doesn’t like you, it’s a non-starter. Do you know your son is probably a little overly defensive? Yes. But you also love him before anyone else. If there’s a man he really can’t abide? That’s not gonna be the man for you.
I think Simon wins your son through the mundane. Doing things that are just plain not fun, but necessary parts of life. Just taking things off of your plate. Filling your forms, making appointments, picking up groceries, fixing things around the house— the very ordinary and unromantic parts of cohabitation and long term relationships.
It starts chipping when Simon drives to pick up your son from a friend’s house after a sleepover.
“Why’re you here?”
“So your mum could sleep in today.”
That shuts him up right quick.
He’s gone through life seeing people take from you until barely anything was left for yourself. Spoonfuls of honey taken from your soul until you were empty. So he starts to soften when there seems to be a man ready to give you some of himself without greedily taking more of you.
