hey! im not sure if this is a dumb question, but i know we dived into the interior design aspect of the modern au men, but i was wondering what their wedding aesthetic would be? would they want a say in the planning or let reader design the wedding of her dreams :)

not dumb at all 😤 that's a great question. since the pictures didn't stay in the layout I like for the interior design question, I'll just describe it, unless people want specific pics in which case I'll do that, I just think the layout is ugly 😡

gojo and reader:

he'll be pretty involved. I imagine his reader wouldn't really want to plan everything since she's pretty lazy lol, so he'll take control of things, otherwise their parents' will ruin everything and make it so basic and white they'd both hate it. gojo becomes a bridezilla. "I said I want ebony black! this is clearly ink black. are you blind? ugh what do I pay you for? so hard to find good help these days!"

he'd have it a classy mix of black and white, in a cathedral, very grand and awe inspiring. there has to be an organ. reader wears a black gown, dramatic veil and black roses. gojo is in a black suit, everyone else wears white.

it'd likely be a winter wedding and it'd make global news. the reception would be a formal event for the sake of the family rep and business, so it'll be stiff and clean and they hate it. but the after party is lit!!! it's a damn rave, everyone's going crazy. they'll party for a little while before slipping out for their honeymoon.

geto and reader:

something more intimate for sure. they follow the shinto traditional wedding, held at a shinto shrine, their parents and immediate relatives and friends, even some clients of theirs. riko attends. it's important for geto to pay respect to his culture and to traditions so he's pretty involved and they make it a fun thing where reader learns more about Japan.

reader wears a slightly pink kimono, like off-white. her sister is her maid of honour, and her dad still 'gives her away' in their own way. so it's a good mix of western traditions and Japanese.

they also have an after party with just their friends but it's not a party party, it's a casual visit to a local ramen place where they drink sake and talk about the good ole days.

choso and reader:

pretty likely to elope cause of reader. maybe do a Las Vegas shotgun wedding for funsies. but if they were to have a more traditional wedding cause of the Ryomens, it'd be boho, maybe on the beach, very light airy clothes, lots of bright colour flowers, lots of dancing and laughing. they’d exchange paintings of each other before the wedding. choso would absolutely cry seeing reader walking down the aisle

reader would wear a white but modern and immodest dress (not necessarily revealing but she wouldn’t believe in ‘covering up’). It’d be a pretty hip dress. choso would wear a loose white shirt and trousers to fit the beach, also not very traditional but not very wild either. on their wedding night, they share an intimate moment where they paint each other’s clothes/have sex. and those clothes are preserved and put on display in their art studio

toji and reader:

he wouldn’t be very involved. doesn’t really care about things like that. just lets her plan everything. she’ll ask for his input on things but ultimately ignore them lol. their wedding is rustic, maybe somewhere like a vineyard. they’ll have everything done at the venue, as in they won’t move around, they’re practical and toji was adamant about the wedding not being high maintenance and that’s fine with reader since she doesn’t care all that much either

the important thing is the landscape, a beautiful natural setting where fairy lights can be strung up, the tables will be arranged outside for dinner, jazz band playing in the background, dance floor packed. they’ll slow dance and have one of those moments where everyone fades away and toji stops grumbling and admits she’s the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen and that he’ll never forget this day

how could they afford this you ask? well let’s just say sukuna snarks about how he gave Fushiguro so much money and yet it seems like none of it went to the wedding.

nanami and reader

reader is a bridezilla. her and gojo complain to each other about how no one ever appreciates the importance of flower arrangements and the difference between eggshell and ivory. she gets very anxious and panicky about everything. even has a breakdown a month or two before the wedding because she gained weight and was worried she wouldn’t fit in the dress. she’s crying on the bathroom floor telling nanami this must be a sign the universe doesn’t want them together and he should find someone better. like she’s sobbing and rocking back and forth. nanami sighs and tells her he loves her so much and not even the universe could ever get in the way of that. even reminds her about astronomy and how the stars were aligned on their first kiss and on the night he proposed etc etc. hearing the physics talk calms her down

seeing how stressed she is, he tells her he could take care of everything, or they could elope or just have a simple ceremony. he apologises for leaving her to do what she wanted because he thought that was best but he realised he should have been with her every step of the way. from then on, he’s very hands on.

they have the wedding at a botanical garden. there’s a wide field, beautiful hedges and a grand fountain, inside is very classy, intimate dining room, very old money style. they invite close friends and families only. it was originally going to be a big affair because of family stuff but nanami realised that was adding pressure to her so he, without mercy or giving room for argument, disinvited a boatload of people and faced the scrutiny of the relatives lol. gojo joked in his speech that he was surprised he was still invited and nanami muttered that he himself is surprised too.

sukuna and reader

big, grand affair because of the ryomens. one of those crazy rich asians wedding style. like five separate events. celebrity guests, bruno mars performed lol. they hate every second but they bare with it. none of it was organised by them, just pure ryomen family bs. and that’s fine with reader. she doesn’t care. the weddings doesn’t mean shit to her. she just likes being a ryomen now and how she’s legally recognised as sharing his wealth and power. the prenup negotiations was insane tho. don’t forget she’s a lawyer so that shit was intense and just relentless warfare. sukuna was willing to sign everything away, he had no intentions of ever divorcing her or cheating or any of that so he wasn’t worried. but obvi the family had to step in.

they actually had their own ceremony way before the official wedding/s, where they went somewhere far away idk like brazil and had a local tribe declare them spiritually married. they wanted to get married on their own terms and they don’t even place any romantic importance on marriage. no flimsy piece of paper is needed to tell sukuna that reader is his in every sense. so they celebrate two separate anniversaries, their official one which is very public and extravagantly celebrated every year, and their real one which they celebrate with a bottle of wine and rough sex.

This applies to most aspects of my life, but I don't really have a top "favorite" thing in most areas! I mean, Madoka Magica Rebellion is my favorite movie (very closely rivaled by Coraline), but that's an outlier. In every other case, I have a collection of my favorites with one coming out on top depending on how I'm feeling that day.

It's also influenced by eras, I think. I don't want to compare my most recent art to my venture maiden 2020 art, because I've improved and will prefer my newer style. However, there's still a sense of nostalgia and homeliness to some of my old art that can bring it above the rest, you know?

Going through my venture maiden campaign 1 folder, here's probably my favorites:

These two are from 9/3/20 ("sawYEAH.png") and 11/23/22 ("arent you tired of being nice.png"). I think Sawyeh's relatively simple design has always lend itself well to gesture drawing, especially with the relatively simple silhouette shape. Theyre just fun :) I like them a lot.

I don't know if I'd rank a lot of my campaign 1 art among my favorites, not because I think less of the campaign but because a lot of that time period was me feeling my way into an art style. I see it as the time period after I started feeling confident in my art, but before I kind of became the "unique facial features and color jitter" artist.

death note has been a part of my life for soooo long. genuinely i watched it when i was 12, and i’m about to be 22 soon, so almost 10 years now. i still rewatch it frequently, i’ve probably seen it close to 15 times now…i based my whole closet and a lot of other things on mello & misa sksjsk

tokyo ghoul is of course one of my favs, also has been a part of my life for a while, maybe 6 years? i prefer the manga tbh but i still watch the anime a lot bc sometimes im too lazy to read…my comfort show fr tho i always turn to it when i’m feeling down

jujutsu kaisen is the newest addition to this category but i love it just as dearly, as you may have notice lol i wasnt sure about it at first but it quickly made itself out home in my heart and life. tmi but i was in the middle of like a year+ long mental space where i just couldn’t feel things or process emotions, and jujutsu kaisen is what brought my feelings back to me…a lot of sad feelings but feelings nonetheless

other shows i like a relatively normal amount

blind is a kdrama that i never really see that many people talking about but its soooo good and so worth watching. it follows the investigation of brutal serial killer, but it feels like so much more than that. there’s really great psychological horror aspects, as well as commentary on how society fails children, and i literally never saw the end coming. soooo good a bit gory but really worth the watch. watch it when you have a few days off tho bc it’s so hard to look away.

i was torn for what to put as the last show, but i decided to go with another kdrama sweet home. highly recommend for tokyo ghoul lovers, it’s sci fi/thriller and it’s about this disease that turns humans into mindless monsters, and the MC turns into like a half-half…won’t say too much more bc spoilers but the parallels are endless

Gamigin's kind of accidentally a recluse, so he has a really bad habit of not knowing who anyone is and being vaguely confused about it. He generally respects the other teachers though, especially the strong ones (because they're capable of protecting others.)

In terms of Decarabia, he does kind of have a crush ngl. On one hand he thinks he's cute, on the other he is not blind to the fact that Decarabia is an absolute fucking weirdo who is absolutely confusing to talk to lmao. Since they're both mainly in the senior building they tend to spend the most time together compared to the other teachers

Meanwhile Decarabia is kind of a huge nag towards Gamigin, getting annoyed his uniforms inside out and constantly reminding him to get paperwork done and stuff. He's kind of annoyed by it, but at the same time he does appreciate how much he cares about other aspects of his job lmao.

Lazuli is unfortunately capitalist-brained and obsessed with professionalism so he tends not to form any sort of negative opinions towards colleagues for the most part, and does have an appreciation for their good qualities, though it's in kind of an objective non-friendshippy way. He's also really interested in teachers with family status because he wants those connections, though he doesn't act on it because that would be inappropriate workplace conduct smh. When he was a newbie teacher, his mentor was Ipos, he thinks he's v cool.

He and Aion joined at the same time and frankly they're like. Inseparable. Since they were both super new to teaching and kind of insecure, they ended up turning to each other a lot and became super close. In their spare time they're like always lying on top of each other and cuddling. They also sleep in the same bed together relatively frequently. Surprisingly, this is entirely platonic.

23. talk about a WIP?

oh man ive got a lot on hold at the moment, buuut ill go with my tati/barb painting im working on (that I believe i sent you the current version of- its been a bit lmaoo)

i mean first of all i just really wanted to give my girls at least a bit of happiness. is it temporary? in canon? definitely not. but they deserve to have each other to lean on and to feel safe with

and i really love the concepts of bi/aro barb and lesbian/aroace tati so. they dont have a defined relationship, they just love each other and thats all that matters.

ive got a few ideas in my head of how their relationship would come to be, but i think its something they both tried to view from analytical lenses if that makes sense? especially with barb, my poor heteronormative victim. she definitely does not like the idea that she might care for tati in a more realistic way than she did with curt until she tried to put her fears behind her and consider it from a position of just what would make her happy. when she realized the answer to that question was tati, she was both extremely relieved and utterly terrified. with tati, she was so afraid of how easily barb was peeling back the walls she had built up so meticulously, but after she realized that it was probably healthier for her, she accepted the care with loving, almost desperate arms.

they definitely started out as incredible friends, both being able to bond over their shared experiences of discrimination in their jobs over being women in the 50s and 60s in such male-dominated places of work. and for some reason, tati finds it extremely easy to open up to barb and barb just cares so much and just wants to take care of her so bad and that love is always reciprocated, out of fear of losing barb at the beginning, but then out of sheer appreciation and adoration as time passed.

theyre in an incredibly healthy relationship, both because they had no pressure as women to be devoid of emotion and because i think they would talk about their emotions sooooo much with barb as a scientist and tati as a healing trauma survivor.

anyways! got a bit sidetracked, but my WIP is a painting of them cuddling on a couch in their shared apartment :3 the blinds are closed, ofc, and the place is scarcely decorated aside from the necessary furniture, but to them its the most beautiful home ever because they have the other there with them

the idea for the finished piece is to have the orange glow from the sun beaming through the blinds illuminating the room just enough to see them, but have it dark enough to enshroud them in shadow, hiding from the rest of the world. but what we can see is safe, warm, cozy, and quiet :3

Once again, Alazea is very distant and has difficulty with emotions in general but most especially her happiness and kindness that other people give her. Defeat also counts.

There's something here so Many other characters but special mentions to Nerzhan and grief. the Meti siblings just both have difficulties with grief

This one is actually So Hard for me to answer cause I love So Many things but I think . Okay. hang on. You know how in the drawing I did with Simon and Marvin where Marvin looks like a Monster/ripoff cj mind. I kinda got that idea cause 1. yeah haha Mind Electric reference but also 2. The Brain is where dreams Happen and the secondary aspect to Simon's powers is dream manipulation. I think the visible nervous system appeared on Marvin after Simon gained Envoyship with Belphegor cause before he became envoyed his main thing really was music

7.What's one way your OC has changed since you first came up with them?

Okay gonna use Vienna cause they changed. quite a bit. not just design wise. I mean they always had the single horn with the little accessory on the horn but they used to be like. fully blind and a painter. and they wore those long-ass british person coats. Vienna has arguably changed the most compared to basically everyone else but Vienna is. damn. blind painter person to half-blind gamer

Elisa of course underwent some change (she was the one who kinda started this story) but she has been relatively consistent.

I'd say Josephine actually changed more than her cause orignally Josephine was a wild card. I mean she still is a bit of a wild card but she was a wild card I mean she was like. she was all over the place in terms of what she did (from poker dealer to bartender to right hand of The Commander) and frankly I am glad I settled on something. God I need to make a semi-finalized design for her I have like. a concrete image in my head but I wanna put it down to paper

OH and very obviously Marvin went through a lot of changes. Originally he was Elias then he was Marvin and originally he just looked like a doll-human but now he's a shadow guy and has exposed nervous system :]

LITERALLY THIS. i mean with how inconsistently bruce in particular gets written, in terms of his mentorship and parenting skills, i GET the impulse to give damian a… i hesitate to say “better”, because i truly believe that bruce’s core characterization fully aligns with the GOOD batdad content we get, and i also think that there’s a certain section of dami and dick+dami fans who’ve developed a bit of a blind spot to the some of the CANONICAL great bruce+dami moments/bonding they HAVE gotten — but i’m getting off topic: *overall*, i can at least understand why people might see dick as a more *consistent* older male authority/guiding figure in damian’s life, and thus want to slot him into a fatherly role. but what pisses me off is when people specifically shove aside and deny the immense POSITIVE influence that bruce has had on damian to give dick this parental role, and say “let untraditional family dynamics exist! biological relation isn’t everything!” like… do you not realize that you are literally just nuclearifying YOUR preferred relationship? and i realize that i’ve centered bruce in this rant, but also — it wouldn’t be fair to DICK to just make him damian’s substitute father when dick died. like, in real life, when a child’s parents die and they end up with another relative, it’s usually a huge point for the new guardian to emphasize that they DONT intend to take over the emotional relationship to the child of the child’s parents — that isn’t NECESSARY for a guardian to still be able to do the job of guarding and maintaining the child’s physical mental and emotional well-being. okay, got a bit sidetracked, but my point is that dick was never obligated to be damian’s dad after bruce “died” — and it feels like some “dick is damian’s dad” truthers treat a parental dynamic like the inevitable and only conclusion to someone taking guardianship of a child relative, which it SHOULDN’T be (bringing me back to my point about forced nuclearification and the fact that similar-looking familial relationships can exist in different gray areas).

…yeah okay i told myself i’d try not to be insufferable about this but i think i already have been, so one last pet peeve of mine — the “bruce wayne is damian wayne’s grandfather” tag on ao3. i just… look, you can enjoy what you wanna enjoy, and im not the type of person to purposefully go seek out things i dislike to shit on them and ruin other people’s fun. but GUYS. damian’s ENTIRE PERSONALITY was literally the fact that he’s the direct blood heir to these two immense legacies!! and to be clear, i DON’T think his personality should be reduced to just that aspect of him — but him BEGINNING as the Ibn al Xu’ffasch and Heir to the Demon is what MAKES him learning how to just be Damian so compelling! (and i’m not even gonna start on what damian’s existence means to bruce, bc then i’ll REALLY never stop)

I am being super, ultra cautious about how I'm wording this, but am going out on a limb here.

As someone who literally helped to care for her much younger brother (I had solo custody of him one night per week during his teens, I fed him, supervised homework, did his laundry, got him ready for school, made his lunches, all that jazz) I am just slightly familiar with what it's like to step in to be a guardian for a younger relative.

I'm reading Reborn. I'm reading basically all of Dick and Damian's appearances. I'm...not seeing a parent-child relationship here. I see mentoring and supervision, yes. I appreciated the "I was trying to have a night off" moment in Streets of Gotham. But a lot of this is just big brothering or vigilante mentor stuff.

I fully, 100% believe Dick and Damian bonded during their period together. I also believe they had a little family unit going on between Alfred, Dick and Damian. I respect people reading whatever interpretation they want to read of this material.

But from what I see on the paper? I think calling it parental is a stretch. Damian's in kincare, folks. On paper? Damian's physical needs are being provided by Alfred, his vigilante mentoring is being provided by Dick, as far as I can tell he's not even in education, and we get precious few insights into what's happening during daylight hours. (Especially, ESPECIALLY as I really have not seen Damian receive, well, boundaries outside of the field. Or consequences for his actions. Or...really, any active parenting)

Dick's looking after Damian, sure. But he's not Damian's parent.

And that's perfectly ok, not everything has to be reduced to a simple traditional nuclear family ideal.

Gotta keep telling myself like, 60% of the HnK fandom is just babies who are like, Barely out of their teenage years (allegedly - I’m not IN the fandom bc im almost 30 and fandom drama anything is stupid and not worth my time) but sometimes I’ll see a stupid take and then it’s like “oh you’re just 19 okay. Ur a BABY in comparison you don’t have the life experience to know better” but man it’s SO HARD to not have anyone on my same intellect to talk about this series 😩

It just feels like a vast majority of readers side with Phos despite all of the equally shitty things they did with the Gems and treat Phos like they fulfilled all of their promises even tho they didn’t? They jumped from one empty, long-winded promise to another and the only way they were ever fulfilled is by someone else who fell into the place that Phos left.

Like, Bort was absolutely correct when they said Phos preyed on their weaknesses and then manipulated them into leaving earth (save for Dia, who had already peaced out-ied), but you all aren’t ready for that kind of taking accountability yet

Also, regarding Phos, the best most recent example I can think of comes from TUA S3; this quote from Five:

In the perspective of the Gems, Phos is a wild card. Unpredictable, chaotic, powerful, othered. All in all, Phos is basically a superhero relative to the Gems’ usual abilities. They are To be feared, because they [the Gems] don’t understand. Jade even says “I’m sorry I didn’t take the time to understand you” (PARAPHRASE) Phos, whether intentionally or not, lauds this over the rest of the Gems.

So like YES - the Gems absolutely suck in that aspect of not really ever understanding Phos based on their formulated, projected image of them. Yes they should’ve made more of an effort to support Phos earlier on, etc etc. BUT at the same time, if their circumstances were also being outwardly manipulated the entire time by Aechmea, then they really couldn’t do much to stop it.

On the flip side, the Gems suck because they’re now dealing with their own butterfly effect of problems coming to light between themselves and their community/culture as a whole because of Phos, who swung at the proverbial bees nest??? That also doesn’t sit well, because it’s reducing the problem to Black vs White; good versus evil, and that’s where I fear people are losing the actual themes of the story in exchange for “durhur my blorbos” brainrot 🙄

Even if Phos viewed their own actions as noble and worth the effort and troubles imposed on the others, they still acted selfishly. Solo. They saw this big, monumental task that nobody had ever done before and developed so much tunnel vision for it without thinking of how their actions would branch out and affect everyone else around them.

When Cinnabar tells them to drop it for their own sake, Phos does the complete fucking opposite and escalate things. They hear “Don’t do that” and see a challenge to prove wrong.

So I don’t blame Cinnabar for not wanting to go or stay with Phos, since REALLY, this fucking far, Phos never actually thought about Cinnabar other than as a means to fulfill THEIR promises to find them a better job. Cinna even acknowledges that - “if you had just asked to be partners, it would be different” (NOT VERBATIM) - like Shinsha Isn’t fucking stupid, and perhaps is able to see through more of the ruse Phos put up than the other Gems because they lived separately from the community mindset. And also if we’re speaking truthfully, their connection wasn’t even that deep beyond shipping lenses. Phos never took the time to really get to know Shinsha or understand what THEY wanted. Phos imposed what they thought Shinsha wanted.

Anyway Jesus fucking Christ I have a lot of thoughts and analysis now that I’ve reread Houseki at an older age - there are a lot of moments and events that I didn’t fully understand when I first read it. But boy there are so many more things I get now that im older :’)

oh fuck i'm abt to talk abt growing up the child of alcoholics with a bryan as an older brother so scroll on or hit read more, i do not care.

my moms drank herself to death. she drank our whole lives & well before it. my dad too but he's a passive drinker. anyways, the point being my mom was fucked up, she had mental health issues & came from a physically & emotionally abusive home. as a child she was kept from her father after her parents divorced, her mother beat her at times, & she often had to protect her little brother who is kinda slow.

guess what kinda environment she made for us? my moms never laid hands on us, but she abused emotionally & mentally. the shit she did always raised alarm bells with me (crawling into my bed, drunk at early hours as she cried abt how she's a bad mom to me & things along these lines). my brother did not see these things are red flags or alarms.

my mom & I were my brother's only blood relatives here bc my mom took him from his dad after her divorce & moved across the country (huh kinda like how her mom kept her from her dad after their split, huh???). my dad was a fine father to us (aside from the drinking & queerphobia) but he was only my brother's dad by default which is proved now after my mom's passing & my dad doesnt really want anything to do with my brother.

anyways, my mom was all my brother had. so there was always an excuse or a reason why what she was doing was okay or fine or didn't matter. ofc we never had big blow up abt shit, bc in real life people just die they don't have big dramatic bullshit. but bryan's point of view, his excuses, his reasoning, runs parallel to my brother's feelings & place. i was the one trying so hard to get him to see, so he didn't get fucked up by her. i never wanted to like cut my mom out, maybe get her help but yeah she died before that, i just didnt want my brother wrapped up in her issues which caused issues in him.

i the kid that realized i was an alcoholic & got to work on that. my brother didn't, he still doesn't see what she did & we are going five plus years post death by drinking. & we watcher her kill herself, she was told to stop drinking & she pared down. drank "only" beer & wine, nothing hard, & ofc that was still making her sick. she eventually got sick enough she couldn't drink really.

so much of the emotional charge between regal, bryan, & mox, all people who have first hand experience with life threatening addiction, is so fucking real. if youve never been in it, like we have, you may not understand the pain these three are sharing & presenting to us. ive been mox holding onto the rope, shaking & wanting to plead for bryan to see but knowing he wont. ive been bryan, blinded by the love of someone important & special something unconditional. & ive been regal, a drunk who has hurt the people around me.

god that fucked me up. but it did it's job. it got under my skin, it triggered me & forced me to deal with certain feelings ive compartmentalized. as a person who has lived, in a way, every aspect of this story they're telling...its accurate & it hurts & its fucking painful & it's good. as hard & painful & unwanted as this is for me, its also good for me. & as someone who cant fathom putting that out there, on a national stage, i respect what they're doing bc it must be fuckin hard.

i lost over a year's sobriety on October 25th. i only got a few weeks under me anymore. & in a way this reminded me that it's going to relapse, that it's part of recovery, & i can move forward from here. its fuckin dumb that this shit can work, like when it's something you want to & need to see, art can work really well to help you realize shit. it fuckin sucks but im not alone. my mom wasn't alone. my brother isn't alone. even if we don't quiet see it.

Hooh boy. Yeah

I was flying blind for the most part so I did accidentally fuck up some possible npc dialogue interactions by doing things in a slightly weird order and found out later when scouring through the wiki, namely hornet's bonus dialogue when you defeat herrah after getting the king's brand hsgdjsjd

But. BUT. The thing I regret the MOST about my whole entire playthrough is accidentally locking all future quirrel encounters by talking to him near the teacher's archives. I only had the deepnest hot springs hangout left and I would have gotten them all but I was a dumbass who decided to explore the fog canyon without originally even planning to and I FUCKED UP IM SORRY QUIRRELLLL COME BAAAAAACK

Quirrel: What was your favorite thing to discover for the first time?

Oh!! Oh!! Good Question! I unfortunately did get spoiled for a few things before I started playing the game myself, but one moment is gonna stick out to me for a good long while I think; Joni's Repose.

I was vaguely aware of a location existing in the game by that name where you could find a new charm, but it still came as a complete surprise for me! Honestly the entire howling cliffs area was a very pleasant surprise and I could not stop the constant feeling of "woah where the fuck am I" as I was exploring gdjfksjd

But! Joni's repose yes. Ok so I found a little hidden nook in the cliffs so I decided to go and explore, and THEN: butterflies. Blue lifeblood butterflies, which I recognized immediately - I followed the trail down, down, down, expecting to find a cocoon - and lo and behold, I accidentally stumbled right upon a small glade tucked away in the caverns completely filled with soft glowing blue and ambient music like no other, and I was mesmerized. I'm pretty sure that after getting the charm I just sat in that little hidden cavern for a full 15 minutes not even doing anything, just stopping for a moment and chilling in the atmosphere. I still dont know why that specific location stuck out to me so much, but it still gives me those very specific vibes that always make me just,,,,, stop, and sit back for a while. Like I said, I was mesmerized hshfjshd

Hornet: What is your favorite boss fight? Most difficult boss?

Ooooohhhh boy thats a tough one

I havent fought all bosses yet so I cant provide a definite answer, but there were a lot of fights I enjoyed!! (Enjoyed being a relative term since every single one of them kicked my ass WITHOUT mercy lmao)

But! A few bosses that I think had a really fun pattern and a pleasant challenge were the False Knight, Hornet round 1, the Mantis Lords aaaand the Dung Defender!! DD and the Lords kicked my ass the hardest I think, but the Lords had a very nice vibe with their entire battle. Challenging the three sisters for a honorable battle to gain the respect of the mantis tribe,,,,, MUAH, exquisite

And dung defender's up there purely because despite me loathing every single aspect of the royal waterways as a location I absolutely ADORED his fight, he sounded like he was having so much fun just jumping around and I love how when you stun him he just laughs gshdbnshd

He's having a good time. Yes he killed me twice but I could NOT stay mad at him if I tried, his entire fight just instantly put me into a good mood as well even though he's a pretty darn tough boss

Oh and I just realized I completely forgot to reply to the "hardest boss" part huh.

hello ! ive been looking at this rp for a while now and even thought about joining but theres a problem : i dont know ANYTHING about gots :/ is it recommended to know the basic story / plot or watch the entire thing?

      hey there friend, i won’t lie it does help to have some understanding of game of thrones as it is the world we set ourselves in.    there are key aspects that you would need to know of the world of GOT/ASOIAF in the same way you would need to know general knowledge about the world; key events, battles, betrayals, religion, places, allegiances. but thankfully, that doesn’t mean you need to have seen the whole show so no, you definitely don’t have to go and watch 100s of hours of the show, or have read the books, to be able to get along here.   many of the muns here are absolute whizzes with ASOIAF/GOT lore so general questions that pop up are easily answered.   i can say that your knowledge is somewhat character-choice dependent  as some have their own family histories,  and i’ll do my best to give a summary as we go.

     IMPORTANT & HELPFUL THINGS TO NOTE***  we are both tv-show canon and book-canon divergent from around the year 300AC (approx. end of season 6), and if you do want a recap of the episodes that are short and a basic summary i would suggest checking out OZZY MAN REVIEWS (GAME OF THRONES RECAP) seasons 1-6.  keep in mind anything beyond season 7 would be somewhat irrelevant here.  each episode recap is about 5mins a piece with ten episodes per season, and you can throw them up on youtube on the side while you’re doing things if you are really set on knowing as much as possible.   isaac hempstead-wright (the actor who plays lord bran stark in the show) actually said that he would watch the ozzy man recaps before the next seasons respective press-junkets because they are very solid and easy to listen to in  the background - so it’s lead-actor approved.

      things like common knowledge of RELIGIONS (of which there are three main ones in westeros), there is the general KNOWN WORLD, you obviously don’t need to  know everything fluently or perfectly - in the same way that you personally would know of places of the world (i.e. i know of italy, but likely can’t name all the cities etc.)      westeros, where everything is set in this RP, also runs on a gender-based monarchy (the oldest male blood relative inherits their house, title, land - unless they are an infant/toddler/child, in which case a casellan [perhaps cousin, uncle] would be appointed, or the mother would rule as lady-regent, until he is of age),  save for dorne who run on  a gender-blind monarchy, meaning the eldest of any gender will inherit the lands, house, title, etc. the great houses would also be general knowledge of those in westeros, and of people from other countries who are well educated. 

    those houses  & families are the oldest houses of westeros, the most powerful and are all  appointed as guardians/wardens of their respective regions.   this map, starting from the south (bottom) to the north we have:

     a lot of what happens here is actually by the creation of our muns, we are set 200+ years in the future at this point so only key cultural aspects have been kept.  a similar question was asked a few days ago, and there’s a few dot points HERE that would help you as well. otherwise, our PLOT PAGE & TIMELINE page is the most important for you to read (the first two sections are relevant GOT recap specifically for people who are unfamiliar with the fandom but are interested in he RP), followed closely by the summaries of the characters you can find on the MASTERLIST.    lastly, the HOUSES pages - now that you know who he big houses are aka. the great houses of westeros, it probably won’t surprise you to know that they have smaller houses who populate their regions and are loyal to one of the great houses.   listed on the houses pages are all our taken characters sorted by their regions of loyalty and allegiance.    depending in the particular character you choose, you might benefit from a look over of that the respective wiki page/s (which we can help you with if needed) or you can pick the brains of the admins and muns for specific help.

   honestly, if you are particularly nervous - i am happy to offer my discord, and many of our muns are always happy to help answer any questions you might have, especially if those questions are about a specific family, house or region.   i know this might seem like A Lot, but please do keep in mind that we have been open for nearly two years so we have built up a lot of our own HCs and lore.   beyond knowing what i’ve summarised above, treat us like any other literate RP, because yes, ironforged is set in the world of GOT but our roleplay stands on it’s own two feet as an alternate universe.    the NAVIGATION page has a bottom category denoted as resources, which has plenty of miscellaneous helpful tips for new people to the world or even period genre.    and honestly, if you are really overwhelmed but still absolutely want to bring your muse/s here, you could easily craft a noble or royal of another country of our known world such as essos, yi ti, ulthos, lys, summer isles etc. which have far less dense history and connections, and the only details we have about them is general ethnicity or aesthetics that is listed in THIS ANSWERED QUESTION (also linked as enthicity help in the navigation page!)

HS Epi: Meat p11 reaction

Is the resolution of the Masterpiece really going to fall in between pages about Jane & Jake's fake date?

Maybe not. Maybe we'll see something from John's perspective first, inside the house juju. Giving himself the retcon powers. Coming to terms about some things. But I suspect he won't be able to contact anyone. At least, it would surprise (and entice!) me if someone contacted him while he's hidden away so remotely in there... Speaking of contact, how did John intend to have read anything inside the juju without his glasses or contacts? You can only spend so much time squinting.

I also wonder what they'll do when they're let out. I mean, they haven't become any better at fighting, and LE has. John won't zap his friends, Vriska and Davepetasprite^2 away to confer in a more secure location, right? Assuming he still has his retcon powers by the end of his stay in the house juju.

Their jails neighbour each other after all - they represent the four blocks of the house - but I didn't think it'd be enough for them to confer. Though, I rather think they're limited in what they can do in here, right? Unless... Unless by being in the house juju, they can influence some things inside the plot, still put some things in place so some time loops are fulfilled and stuff is prepared for bringing down LE!

Pretty sure they're barred, narratively, from performing a jail break, though. :P

Ya know, I've talked about the sentiments behind the narrative prompts before, and I just now realized that the kind of intruisive, inflammable language they use are a throwback to Homestuck's narration, since now that we have this POV-type story, the language there in is more shaped towards the person in question.

"You’ve only realized right now that your cell has walls, because it’s awfully bright in here. It’s so white that nothing in the cell is casting a shadow. Looking around, you realize there is no apparent source to all this bright light, making it hard to tell where the floor ends and the walls begin." Oh, I figured it was dark for him, but yeah, the house is white. Maybe the jail cell looks to each as what their idea of being imprisoned in a house-shaped object should be like, and proportions of the space go to match that? Hence why John can't yet tell the floor from the walls, he's got only an inkling of an idea. :P

"JOHN: yeah, i’m here. ROSE: Oh, thank goodness. Everyone’s accounted for then." Hah, John spaced out while the others reconnected. Nice. I'm interested to see what ideas Rose will bring to the table.

So it all comes back to four kids, standing idly in separate rooms, huh. :P

"Are you okay? JOHN: what? ROSE: Are you OKAY?" Okay, either the walls muffle the sound of John is like "this situation does not warrant the use of the word 'okay', rose. 'okay' is definitely not how i would describe us being right now."

You can hear a thud from Rose’s corner, like someone slumping against the wall in relief. Well, that’s what you’re doing at least." That's pretty much all she needed to hear right now.

"DAVE: this is kinda dorky to say out loud but i dont DAVE: feel... time" ... They're cut off from all their aspects now, are they? That'd just make them ordinary people. :/ Or maybe it's in reference to time outside of the juju passing way faster, relatively.

"DAVE: thats not just me right you guys feel it too DAVE: or dont JADE: yeah JADE: i mean theres obviously space inside this box but i cant do ANYTHING JADE: its like im blind" ... Okay, so I'm left to wonder. Would the egg sword and Jade's First Guardian powers still be usable? I'm assuming Dave had it out, so even if their sylladexes are inaccessible they might be able to do something.

That isn't something to do with the pirate party finding the chest in the dreambubbles... So then, what? Did the B2 kids do something with the chest after exiling (excorcising? ... INcorcising?) Caliborn into Lil Cal?

Blaperile has a good point. Do all the soul splices inside Lil Cal experience this in the same way? ... Do all the soul splices in LORD ENGLISH experience this in the same way?? In the sense that the mobster is just a prison they can't escape or influence?

"The metallic noises rain down harder, drowning out Rose’s attempt at being loud." ... It's that the noises are metallic, otherwise I was almost beginning to think it was more like the white noise. And that would have made me think of the Scratch. That would sure be something though, if the B2 kids initiated a Scratch of Caliborn's session. Actually, what if that was how Alternate Calliope's timeline came to be...

The length of the silence coming from Rose’s corner communicates just how difficult a task that is for her." Pfffffffff. Incoming character development for Rose: being concise.

You surmise the other four teens remaining outside the juju were the ones meant to be tasked with his defeat." It just sucks that John has to come to these admittedly wrong decisions by himself and couldn't have been given more information to work with.

"And judging from the cacophony still emanating from beyond the walls of this house and its confining chest, they are taking the task seriously." Okay, so the B2 kids' fight is still going on. Still unsure what the metal sounds could be about though. Aside from Dirk hacking at the chest with his unbreakable katana.

"But what does this mean for the four of you?" John, don't lose hope, you said it yourself, you'll be unloaded... some time.

"You try to picture what’s going on in the battle outside, but it’s not easy.

Well, that's what I picture they were, Caliborn represented them with metal horse figures... But perhaps he even created robo-centaur butlers and the like. *shivers*

"You figure no one will ever truly know what’s happening out there. You doubt anyone would even be able to handle how incredible the raw, unfiltered account of this teen brawl actually was, so it’s probably for the best." Welp, and we were doing so well just now. :P Eh, it seems the battle unfolded pretty much exactly as foretold, only with some of the more stupid details removed, curtousy of Caliborn's impatience with stupidity. Which in this case might not have been entirely bad. :P

"you overhear Dave from one of the rooms below you, raising his voice to speak to either you or someone else." Right, they are not all on the same level, since it's a house-shaped prison. Uh, but wasn't Dave supposed to be in the part of the house with the extra window? It's been too long, I probably misremember. Oh, wait, yeah, they went through the fourth wall via one of the bottom panes, and it stood for Dave. Never mind.

"Once more you ruefully reflect on these teen versions of your friends, and all the questions they must have for you. For each other. What would you even say to them?" The responsibilities of an adult, John never expected they'd be this hard. He must be growing more appreciative of what his Dad went through with him without even knowing it.

"You’re not even sure you could handle it, if you were Teen John. You’d have too many follow-up questions, which Adult John is in no way prepared to answer." Still, I wouldn't mind a little one-on-one between Johns. A John-on-John, I suppose. In a serious way, nothing from the animes.

"Would you tell them about Terezi..." Oooh, does he suddenly get an idea, thinking of Terezi? Can't say I think they can do anything to contact her from inside here. Hmm, but earlier, Blaperile thought about what the B2 kids could do with the juju chest, whether they might try to get the others out. That's assuming Caliborn didn't captchalogue the thing, though. Still, it would be something if they could defy what's been foretold and unload the house early, maybe load it with a real surprise for LE.

Ahhhh, so we get to see what black romance feels like to John. Looking pretty sharp, apparently. Still, her sharp intellect could've come in handy here. It's a good thing chances are good they'll meet again, I'm sure post-victory Terezi has an important role to play yet.

"Terezi Pyrope was a sharp girl, and maybe what these sharp feelings are trying to tell you is you miss her more than you realized." Well, John has already acknowledged his feelings about Roxy, guess it's time for the other side of the two-headed coin now.

"She wouldn’t have let you neglect relationships with certain friends for so long that you missed whole chapters of their lives. She wouldn’t have put up with you moping around with the salamanders for so long. She would have kicked your ass for being such a loser about everything. She would have poked you in the forehead and called you insufferably lame and told you to pick up the damn phone. You would have called her a weirdo and pretended you hated it, and maybe you would even have believed you hated it. But now, sitting here in this little white cubicle, contemplating your regrets, you don’t think you’d have hated it much at all.

Would you tell the teens that?" Oooh. Very good point, actually. Even if John really only knows that version of Terezi from talking to her on two separate days separate by three years, she had a real impact on him. Granted, they also kept contact on WhatsApp as well in Universe C, but during the session was when their interactions bloomed. It'd probably be a stretch for Meat to end with John retconning the post-victory timeline to include Terezi on Earth, with him, right? After they defeat Lord English first, of course. Oh, right, she was there for two years before leaving... somehow. I kind of forgot. Still, five years would've made a difference in where John ended up by the start of the epilogues.

"JOHN: am i... depressed??" ... Well. Well, as far as growing self-awareness goes, this might be a very big development! Yes, it does seem that John has become listless on Earth C. Mostly it seemed to have to do with the absence of his Dad. But maybe he'll have other ideas about that, like his misfortune in matters romantic.

"as it turns out, you are really fucking depressed. You’re just a giant, wet meat sack of self-involved misery, and all that big, wet, meaty ooze drips out your mouth every time you open it. All the time and space in the world isn’t making it better. It’s something you should have been doing for yourself, instead of waiting around for things to get better." Wow, John. I suppose things will get a little harder for him, now that he's realized this about himself, but I hope he'll find a way soon out of this mess. And so, that's what he's been doing on Earth C, just waiting for things to get better. And no-one picked up on it, not even the other people close to him that bordered on depression before? Like Jade? He really alienated himself...

"Well, screw waiting! It’s boring as hell! You are JOHN EGBERT, after all, immortal CREATOR OF WORLDS, the one and only man ever to completely transcend the partitions of CANON ITSELF. You’ve got these powers, remember?" Well THAT's a sudden surge of RESOLVE if I've ever seen one!

"You hold up your hands and form a rectangle with your fingers and reach outside yourself, outside canon, to the place your retcon powers come from. You focus. You strain. You contemplate with all your might a place you can zap to, any place but here." There's no place like home, there's no place like home! :p Kind of wondering if he'll succeed though. He might be cut off from his powers. But if not, canon is his oyster.

VI. The Lovers - have your character’s heart and mind ever been at odds with one another?

X-men verse: Yes, a few times. When he first started getting his mutation and really struggling to come to terms with it, he was really confused as to what he should do.  It took him a month or two to decide, and ultimately his head chose to leave to spare his family from any problems his mutations would cause even though his heart told him to stay and have their support.

Also with Rhys, there was a lot of his heart telling him something his mind hadnt quite realized yet. It was a very subconscious thing because he knew he loved him, but never thought about in what way. It was obvious to everyone else, he absolutely adored him, loved his smile, his voice, everything about him and spent time always thinking of him. The problem was, it didnt click in his mind right away that all of those feelings were much more than friendship. All he knew, was that being with Rhys made his soul happy. When he did finally realize, everything just seemed to make sense but due to the whole drunken night incident a whole new struggle arose. He didnt think Rhys would feel the same way so that made his head clash with his heart a lot. All of it was a misunderstanding of course

In Mainverse: Phew, Im only going to list one time and make it brief or else we’ll be on this one question forever. When crossing the Helcaraxe, it was nothing but a mind and heart battle. He was constantly aching for comfort but hating everyone for hurting him so badly, but somewhere in his mind he knew he didnt hate them, he loved them and thats why it hurt so bad. It took the whole elven 30 years in the Helcaraxe to finally cope and his mind and heart match as much as it could.

VIII. Strength - is there a moment your character has ever had to fight for something or someone?

X-Men Au: In his usual X-men verse he hasnt had to do anything extremely drastic, but he does defend the people he cares about from judgemental people on several occasions. It sounds awfully tame but I think eventually when on his own and living with Rhys, both of them having jobs, having a happy life. He feels like they did a lot of work to get there too. Finrod helped Rhys through a lot of hard times, and they overcame past demons to live happy and together. Sometimes those demons do resurface but they fight back against that.

He does have a verse where he and a friend were captured, and he protected them from Hydra, and for the sake of not writing a lot of gore, in short theres a lot of biting and fighting. He gets muzzled, his hair cut, tested on, but eventually he gets his friend and they get out but the friend doesnt make it far, the friend supposedly drowns in the river. Key word being supposedly. XD

MainVerse: Yes. There is a lot of war throughout his lifetime that he fights in and a lot of emotional turmoil. He had to fight to be with Maglor the moment they first fell in love. Feanor forbid them to be see each other, Maglor had to marry someone else, etc. That was the least of his problems though, when they all were fleeing Valinor he had to fight to try and keep his cousins/friends from killing each other ( which they did) at the first kinslaying. He also had to fight and struggle to keep his family alive in the Helcaraxe. Then there was just so much fighting in Middle Earth. The only time there wasnt, was in the time of great peace when Morgoth was quiet, and Finrod was free to run his kingdom happily and be with his family and lover, still in secret, but he’d take it. After all that crap, keeping their romance secret wasnt as big of a deal anymore. Thats not to say it didnt bother him sometimes, but there were worse problems.

XVIII. The Moon - what is the most significant secret your character has discovered?

X-men AU: Aside from finding out what happened to Rhys, there isnt much else significant. His life in this au is relatively calm compared to all other aus. Unless you count teenage talk, and secrets swapped between friends. Theres tons of those but none of those are massive secrets.

MainVerse: Probably when Ulmo came to him and gave him a hint of what was to come and what he needed to do to prepare. Any secret from a Vala is  hella significant. Similarly, the most significant secret he ever kept himself, is that he was shagging his half-cousin for centuries and they in fact were kinda secretly married twice XD Also, any events of his foresight telling him something can also count.

★ Seven of Pentacles - what tests your character’s patience more than anything?

Prejudice.The only smidge of patience he has for it, is giving them a chance to educate themselves on the matter and be a better person. He’ll even offer to educate them. If they keep squandering that chance then he has no patience for them. You can lead a horse to water but cant make them drink, if hes gatta just forget them and protect innocent people from them then oh well. He tried. Hes not gonna tolerate someone whos ignorant biased hateful views hurt people.

ー☆* Two of Wands - has your character ever had to make a tough decision between two choices?

X-men AU: This goes along with the first question. Most of his tough decisions were due to his mind and heart saying two different things.  When his mutation started surfacing, not only did he feel like he had to choose between leaving and staying, he felt the need to either keep in touch or break up with his boyfriend. Those were two very very hard decisions. Of course he had only just turned 16, he was such a young boy and in his mind at the time those were his only choices.  He got so afraid that his family would suffer if someone judged him, he wanted them happy. The same with his boyfriend, they had both planned to go to go through highschool together then attend a college of the arts to study music. They had such big dreams that he suddenly didnt think he could do anymore. The thought of trying and failing, then hindering his boyfriend from achieving his dreams was too much, he couldnt find it in himself to risk everyones happiness, and/or safety. Heaven forbid him being a mutant were to effect his parents jobs! Or people pick on his little siblings at their schools. He thought of everything bad that could happen, and in that already stressed/very frightened state he decided to leave. Of course Charles Xavier found him and told him about the institute, and this whole thing was mended but it was devastating at the time.

MainVerse: Whether or not to leave Valinor was a choice that changed his entire life, and set his entire future in motion down the path of doom. It sounds really dramatic and it was. ;-;. When all the Noldor decided to leave when the trees were killed his mother wouldn’t go with them, and he couldnt bear to leave her but he felt the need to go and protect his father and siblings too. So he told her he would take care of them for her. At that time there was no doom of Mandos, and there could have been a way back to see her at some point and time. It wasnt too unreasonable to think seeing as the Valar said they could go, and they hadnt committed any crimes yet.

After the kinslaying he had a choice to turn back with his father and his people, to be forgiven and have the curse of doom lifted off him but he couldnt leave his siblings, cousins, and lover. He had to choose to stay with them, and thus making the decision to never see his parents again until he died. In a way he had no choice, he couldnt let his siblings, cousins, and lover go to middle earth, where the dark lords were,  alone. Theres no way he could so in that aspect it was an easy choice, but hard and heartwrenching all the same.  Another tough choice was to travel through the Helcaraxe but that wasnt his sole decision, its more complicated so I wont mention that one.

◥█̆̈◤ Four of Cups - how indecisive is your character?

Finrod is pretty decisive, the only decisions that are difficult for him are the ones where his heart and mind clash like the other questions asked about. He has such a big heart, he always tries to consider everyone and do whats best but sometimes the situation calls for a lot of thinking rather than acting on emotion. Something that important takes a lot of thought.

━━╋⊂ Three of Swords - what was the worst betrayal of trust your character has ever experienced?

X-men au: I think going back to the tough decision question about his mutation beginning to surface. At the time when that happened, he felt very betrayed by his own body. Everything just started tumbling to pieces in front of him. His body kept changing and his teeth were growing so his mouth was incredibly sore around his canines not to mention accidentally biting himself a lot. His ears, and sense of smell, and taste were malfunctioning from the change so noises that didnt normally bother him hurt sometimes to the point of bleeding ears, things that normally tasted good suddenly tasted bad, he kept smelling things he didnt want to smell. Not to mention his voice started doing really weird things and he suddenly got abnormally strong. Not only was all this suddenly happening to him, his fear of what would happen to everyone else just made him feel betrayed by the world for not accepting him and forcing him between a rock and a hard place. Of course later, things did work out and he realized there were a lot of people who supported mutants too, and that he just had to see it. The longer he had his mutation he felt like it was who he was meant to be, now he wouldnt know what to do without it. Just being so young and everything happening so suddenly did make him feel betrayed for several months.

Mainverse: Hm, well theres several betrayals that he went through although things like the kinslaying wasnt directly to solely him so I wont elaborate on those.  I would say its a pretty good tie between his uncle Feanor refusing to let  Makalaure/Maglor be with him and basically forcing Mags to marry someone else specifically to keep them from ever being married was a pretty bad betrayal at the time. Feanor had always been rough around the edges, but Finrod had never expected that extent of a betrayal.

The biggest betrayal of his entire lifetime I would say is what Curufin and Celegorm did in Nargothrond.  Finrod had been one of the best kings in history, he was sweet, compassionate, loyal, trust worthy, he cared about everyone not just his own subjects. His kingdom thrived and was so happy, he kept it hidden from evil all that time. There was such an immense level of respect between him and his subjects, and Curufin and Celegorm specifically visited Nargothrond to try and undermine that respect and trust. They widdled away at it and planted all kinds of seeds of doubt to the point when Finrod decided to go with Beren to retrieve a silmaril, it was absolute mutiny. Everyone in the entire kingdom turned on him because of what Curufin and Celegorm had done and said to them, only a single handful of people remained loyal to him. A single handful, thats it, out of that entire massive kingdom. Finrod simply took off his crown and tossed it on the floor bc thats all he could do,  it was such a betrayal there was nothing else he could have done.  Finrod went into Angband with only part of that handful of people because no one else would follow him. They all died except for Beren who Finrod died protecting. Luckily his nephew Orodreth got the crown and not Curufin and Celegorm, but much good that did..Not long after Nargothrond fell and Orodreth and his daughter was killed, and most of Nargothronds people were either killed or enslaved. So.. yea. Massive Betrayal. Hugee. Lead to the entire kingdom and its people being dead.
