soft!matt who will look after you when you’re sick. not letting you move a muscle until he’s nursed you better. 

you wake up from a nap, glancing up to see matt gaming at his desk. despite how awful you feel, you pull yourself up out of bed. matt hears your shuffling ,and spins round in his chair. 

“where do you think you’re going?” he asks, brows raised

“i have errands to run, i can’t lay in bed all day matt” you sniffle,wiping your nose with the back of your hand. matt rises from his chair,shaking his head 

“nuh uh baby-“ he starts, whilst scooping you up, placing you back in bed.

“you’re gonna stay right here okay? we need you to get better” he insists, in a quiet, caring tone , as he tucks a strand of hair behind your ear.

“don’t move,i’m gunna make you a tea sweet girl”

“mattttt-” you coo “it’s exactly like-“

“our first date?” he cuts you off, his face beaming with accomplishment. watching you with a wide grin as your eyes flicker over the picnic blanket layed on the grass, the exact food you ate on this day, 1 year ago , layed out neatly.

“do you want anything sweetheart?” 

“mmm no”

after carrying you inside from the car, he changes you into his clothes. bringing you to the bathroom, he lifts you up and sets you on top of the counter. grabbing a makeup wipe and gently rubbing your face.

“i can tell sweetheart-“ matt says, letting out a small chuckle 

“-lets get you to bed hm?”

soft!matt who is always taking pictures of you when you’re not looking. whenever he thinks you’re looking effortlessly beautiful (which is pretty much always). his camera roll is full of candid pictures of you. whether it’s napping, cooking dinner, at the grocery store, scrolling on your phone, brushing your hair, applying your makeup, tying your laces, matt has a photo. 

soft!matt who always unintentionally brings you up in videos. whenever something reminds him of you, or links to you in any way. it got to the point where he wouldn’t shut up about you. so instead , he switched to a little code between just the two of you.

“Hey Y/N can you grab this last box?” asked Bokuto. You nodded, grabbing the box labeled ‘kitchen’ to take down to Bokuto’s car. Today was move-out day from your first off campus apartment. You would be moving to a smaller apartment with your boyfriend Kuroo. Your best friends Oikawa would be living with his boyfriend Iwaizumi, and Bokuto with Akaashi.

“Hey Oikawa,” called Kuroo, “mind if I keep this?” Kuroo held in his hand the Brittany Spears poster that him and Oikawa fought over on the first day. Oikawa smiled and pulled Kuroo towards him for a hug.

“Treat her well my friend,” he whispered. Kuroo chuckled.

“Ready to start heading down?” asked Bokuto. You shook your head.

You began to walk around your now empty apartment. You looked in your old bedroom, where you and Oikawa spilled endless amounts of gossip. You looked at the living room, where you and Bokuto would watch crappy Hallmark movies and arm wrestle, in which he would always let you win but never admit. You looked at the kitchen, where you and Kuroo would practice cooking for each other as if you had been married for years. You looked at every square inch of your beloved apartment, saying farewell to each spot. The memories seemed to flood in all at once. Without this little apartment, you might not have found all these hidden blessings.

“Don’t go and get soft on me now Y/N,” joked Oikawa. You looked over your shoulder at him, Bokuto, and Kuroo.

“Me? Soft? Never,” you smiled. You went over to them, pulling them into a hug.

“Well, I guess this is it,” whispered Bokuto. You sighed.

“I’m gonna miss this apartment.”

“We all are,” said Kuroo. You looked up at your friends.

“I love you guys,” you smiled.

“We love you more.”

“Have everything?” You asked. Oikawa nodded, placing his last bag into the back of Iwaizumi’s car.

“Yeah. Do you?” You nodded.

“Should we say goodbyes or is that too much?” said Bokuto. You laughed.

“No such thing as goodbyes with you 3. Always just see you later,” you smiled.

“Yeah see you later,” sniffled Oikawa.

“See you later.”

“See you later.”

“I’ll see you guys later,” you said. Kuroo opened his arms for you, but instead all 3 of you joined in what could be your last group hug for a little while.

“And most of all, see you later.” You looked up at the apartment building and smiled.

“Ready to go?” Kuroo asked. You nodded. You said your last ‘see you laters’ and hopped into Kuroo’s car.

“You know we are grabbing dinner with them tomorrow, right?” chuckled Kuroo. You nodded.

“Yeah, I know. I’ll just miss them anyway, but hey, I’ve got you,” you smiled. Kuroo kissed your hand.

“You’ve always got me.”

Your new apartment with Kuroo was smaller than the last one, but just as perfect. The two of you spent time together redecorating to your liking. You felt like a real couple now that it was just the two of you.

After a few hours, your new home looked like home. You and Kuroo were cuddled up in your bed.

“It looks perfect,” you smiled. Kuroo kissed your forehead.

“It’s perfect because you’re here,” he said. Kuroo held you a little tighter, keeping you close to him.

“It’s gonna be weird being just the two of us,” you said. He nodded.

“Yeah but I think it’ll be a good thing. We can start prepping for our future.” Your eyes widened.

“Our?”

“Of course ’our’. It took me more than 10 years to snatch you, no way I’m letting you go now,” he explained. Your face grew warm. You moved to sit on Kuroo’s lap, pulling him into a hug.

“I love you so much Tetsurou,” you whispered. Kuroo cupped your cheek to look at him.

“I love you too.”

Kuroo leaned in, giving you a soft kiss. His gentle hands held you close to him. You wrapped your arms around him, running your fingers through his messy hair. You never got tired of kissing Kuroo.

All your life you loved this boy but not once did you think he would be all yours, and now he was. After countless amounts of sleepless nights, mixed messages, slight misunderstandings, and a childhood crush that grew into something more, Kuroo Tetsurou was yours and yours alone. His caring nature, his intelligence, the way he could always make you smile, that was yours. Your heart, your being, your everything, that was his. Being able to love someone like Kuroo wasn’t like anything else. He was made for you. You always knew he was the one for you, and he knew that too. It was only that neither of you knew the other felt the same. Now that you did, the possibilities were endless for you and Kuroo.

“Hey…” Kuroo broke away from your kiss.

“Yeah?”

Kuroo brought up his hand, pointing out his pinky.

“Me and you right?” Your face went warm, a bright smile appearing.

“I wouldn’t want it any other way.” You connected the pinky promise, each of you kissing your thumbs to lock it in.

“Well, you, me, plus dumb and dumber,” joked Kuroo. You laughed.

“I guess they can tag along too.”

Epilogue

One year later

“Oikawa no peace signs in the picture!” yelled Iwaizumi. Kuroo smacked Oikawa’s hand down.

“DAMN I GET IT!” he pouted. It was graduation day. You, Kuroo, Oikawa, and Bokuto just got out of your ceremony and now we’re attempting to take some pictures.

“Bokuto you look so stupid with that cap,” laughed Oikawa.

“HEY NO I DON'T!”

“You look great Bokuto-san,” smiled Akaashi.

“This is just like high school graduation…” you mumbled. Kuroo laughed, kissing your cheek.

“Some things never change do they?”

“Okay okay, move closer together!” ordered Iwaizumi. The four of you squished together for the picture, arms around each other. You were sandwiched between Kuroo and Bokuto, Oikawa on the other side of Kuroo.

“Okay, say cheese, ...1...2...3!”

“CHEESE!”

Iwaizumi looked at the camera, a small smile creeping on his face.

“How does it look?” You asked.

“You tell me,” said Iwa, showing you the picture. The sun was setting behind you all, but your smiles were brighter. Bokuto had his arm raised in triumph, his smile couldn’t be more genuine. Oikawa snuck in his little peace sign but you let it slide. You were halfway through a laugh when the picture was taken, giving a perfect candid. Kuroo’s smile was soft, but his eyes weren’t on the camera. They were on you. He was most proud of you.

“Guys it’s beautiful!” gushed Oikawa.

“Iwa, do you mind taking one of me and Y/N?” asked Kuroo. Iwaizumi nodded. Kuroo took your hand, leading you back to take the picture. Kuroo put his hands on your waist, yours around his neck.

“I love you so much and I can’t wait for what the future holds for us,” smiled Kuroo. Your face felt warm and you tried to hold back your huge smile, failing of course.

“I love you too, and I know that it’s gonna be great, because I’ve got you by my side.”

Kuroo leaned in to kiss you, pressing you closely against him.

“Wait, you took the picture?” You asked. Iwaizumi smiled.

“I think you guys are gonna like this one.” Iwaizumi walked over to you, showing you the camera.

He captured the exact moment that you and Kuroo kissed. The wind blowing your cap and gowns. The sky a pretty purple and yellow tint. And most importantly, he got Oikawa and Bokuto behind you two. Bokuto had picked up Oikawa. Oikawa was making a heart shape with his hands. Both of them were smiling brightly.

“Well I can safely say that this is definitely an upgrade from our high school picture,” you joked. Kuroo smiled.

“Yeah this time I got the girl.”

“You two are gross…” chimed in Oikawa. You rolled your eyes.

“Not like you and Iwa are any better,” you clapped back. Iwa laughed.

“She’s right though,” said Iwa, putting his arm around Oikawa. You laughed and looked up at Kuroo. Bokuto was hugging Akaashi too.

“Well friends, ready to go?” You said. The boys looked at you and smiled.

“GROUP HUG!” yelled Bokuto. You laughed and joined in a big hug.

“You too Iwa and Akaashi,” laughed Kuroo. They joined in the hug, all of you holding each other tightly.

“I love you idiots,” you smiled.

“We love you too.”

hello! i know i’ve been sort of mia but… it’s been an absolutely chaotic time for me. 

the (long) story goes a little something like this:

earlier this year during spring break, i had friends who convinced me to give america a shot and apply for jobs after grad. i really didn’t want to because the visa process is a pain and it costs a lot. also, not a lot of companies want to hire internationals so it’s very demoralizing to receive a million rejections… but my friends are very persuasive people lol. 

so it was super hectic during the last few months I had in the country as i tried to get through the visa process, study, work, beef up my resume, apply for jobs and graduate at the same time. (i understand that a ton of people have to do this too… but it’s hard y’all). anyway, one Medium article, one cold email, and a number of grueling interviews later, i found out i got a job!

now i just had to convince my parents… this was actually in all honesty, the most stressful part. i love them to death but my father really made it feel like i was choosing between my family and a job and ngl i cried myself to sleep on the regular. in the end, he finally gave me the okay to take the job but i know he’s still very upset. that’s honest to god the worst part. (my mum’s been super supportive tho so i guess that’s the silver lining in all of this!)

prior to getting the job though, I was really in limbo. I had returned to my home country because I and by extension, my parents, were not confident that i was going to be able to land a job in the US. I was very confused because I was neither here nor there. I was interviewing with the american company from my home country, trying my best to make sure they’d still be interested in me as a candidate no matter how many hurdles there were. then, to ensure that I had a safety net, I was also doing interviews locally and sending out resumes whenever I could. I was exhausted. and I know everyone goes through the job hunt so it’s equally as exhausting for everyone but yeah it was not a fun time.

anyway so now that I took that job in america i gotta move halfway across the world again, but this time without financial support and i don’t know… maybe this is the first time i’ll be truly independent and ya im seconds away from shittin myself. really gotta put on my big girl pants and try to not be broke yeet yeet.

but uhh that’s the low down on why i haven’t been able to write much at all…….. and yeah! working on it tho… haha always working on it.

to end all of this, I just want to say that I’m super lucky to have all of you. I basically got the job because of that article I wrote. I know I sound like a broken record talking about my article over and over but I dunno I guess all of this is just a little wild to me ahah.

I owe a lot of my confidence in my writing to all of you. I personally think my writing improved bc of this blog and the support you guys give me is… unreal (“: I know it may seem insignificant to some of you to reblog/like and comment on a fic but it really spurs me creatively and makes me feel sort of confident about my writing. all of that is probably why I didn’t think twice about hitting that post button on my article. although it’s a very different type of writing… I don’t know it’s just knowing that my writing is worth something… knowing that my writing is worth taking 5 minutes out of your day to read, is pretty cool and you guys kind of gave me that! (i am in no way saying that my writing is the best thing on earth. far from it. but i think you guys understand what i’m trying to say!)

so in some way, you guys helped me get a job! nice work team hahahah. also, also i just want to say, never give up. I decided I wanted to try my luck at the American job market maybe around the end of March and graduation was in early May. so I had about more or less a month to do something. I knew I needed a way to set myself apart from everyone else because my gpa wasn’t stellar and I hadn’t had any internships in America. not to mention the fact that I was an international student hence it was even harder to get hired. so basically, why would a company pick me over the next person? I thought perhaps knowing how to code was the way to give myself an edge so I learned some basic python and sql but then I realized there wasn’t really an impressive project I could attempt within that short time frame and I also knew far too little to do anything anyway. this meant that I was back at square one.

so, I switched gears instead. I sat down and really thought about what I could do. I concluded that at the very least, I could write. I knew I could write so I needed something that I could use along with my writing and I was like… it’s gotta be data! knowing that, I picked up the basics on how to use Tableau and I also picked up VBA macros in excel (if you don’t know what this is… I think you should Google it. it will literally blow your mind. excel can do a lot more than you can imagine). Then, I picked what I wanted to write my article on, got the data I needed from google trends, used vba macros to make the calculations faster, used tableau to make charts based on the data and photoshop to spice up the charts and etc. I did my research in the meantime as well and had a rough plan on what I was going to write about. after this, it was all systems go and it went a little like this:

wrote the article. attached my charts. linked the links. hit that post button. applied to all the jobs & companies that I thought would see value in what I did and can do. got rejected many times. felt discouraged. did more searching on companies that were willing to hire internationals. decided to send a cold email to a company. ACTUALLY HEARD BACK. went through multiple interviews. ACTUALLY GOT THE JOB.

so guys, never give up. recognize your strengths and build around that. if you think you don’t have any strengths, look harder. if you still feel you don’t have any, make the effort to learn something. it’s never too late for anything. I did all of that in one month and 10 days (the learning stuff and writing the article thing I mean). always be open to learning. I say this so much irl that my friends are sick of it but in this day and age with the internet, you can literally learn anything. so please, learn. learn for fun, learn for whatever reason. learn anything. you’ll never know when it’ll come in handy. like my basic Photoshop that I learned just so I could make a header for my blog… literally used that skill for the graphics in my article lol.

anyway, you can achieve a lot more than you think you can. you just gotta throw caution to the wind and do your own thing. be determined, be proactive. if things aren’t going the way you think it should be, do something to change that. you are all amazing and capable of great things! I hope you all know that. my mum always said if you never try, you’ll never know. don’t be afraid, don’t stop to think about what other people will think of you. keep doing you. people doubt you enough so don’t add to that. keep your head held high and keep moving forward.

once again I want to thank you guys for being sort of a support system for me! every comment, nice ask and sweet message has brought me this far. i really mean it (’: always be nice and supportive my sweet dumplings. your words truly have impact!

Directator episode dub vs sub comparison! For no particular reason! Except i lov he!

First off we have the big obvious fact that his movie is clearly based on Journey To The West and the dub episode title still says that and their costumes are all clearly that, yet they still try and remove all references to it. Wtf! So yeah just a big overall change is that in the sub everyone is directly saying the name of the thing and Directator doesnt give everyone weird bootleg names. (And leaves nate as nate for some reason???)

There's also a bit of a voice change with all the new characters. Dub Directator has kind of a deep husky stereotypical western 'intellectual savant director' voice, while in japanese its not really anything special and just a similar goofy mildly nasally voice as most dorky villains get in the series. Think sub maddiman but younger and more hyperactive than cutesy, i guess? Or to picture it in dub form imagine a sort of coke bottle glasses cliche librarian stereotype + Screaming Very Loudly. So yeah both his voices are cute but i like the dub one better for how its a bit more specific to a hollywood character, and also a voice you dont tend to hear that often in a villainous role. And then the assistant yokai trio had a surprisingly big change! In the dub they have adorable squeaky komasan-esque mascot voices which fits their :3 faces but contrasts hilariously with how humanoid they are. In the sub they have the exact opposite and have very deep ordinary human voices that are hilarious being delivered while looking so cutesy! Theres also a bit more variation between them in the sub, one of them is just a norml deep voiced dude, one sounds shrill and screechy and one sounds ullllltra deep and perpetually grumpy. Yknow despite always smiling and all. The identical looking yokai in a dress during one of the later scenes also has a different voice here, so it seems she was meant to be a fourth assistant rather than one of them in costume.

Directator says a lot of Gratuitous English Words, all the bits of him yelling ACTIONNN and CUT CUT CUT were still there in japanese. So i suppose maybe he would be categorized as a Merican Yokai if he ever became playable?

Theres some dumb weird sexism in the Sudden Son Goku High School Au section in the sub. The various annoying students are all the same except the girls. In japanese their lines were "ohhhh nooo we cant carry all this stuff because we're girls, blablabla we have internalized sexism and think you boys are soooo much stronger" And then nate and whisper whine about how 'girls are always like that', always shirking work and being spoilt and lazy and reliant on men to do everything. Its dumb.

The bit where one of the annoying students embarasses nate by saying there's a hole in the back of his shorts is actually identical i.e there still is not any hole in the shorts and everyone acts like there is. Thats so odd! A similar continuity error in an earlier episode was actually the dub editing out a shot of underwear but nope they didnt do it again. The only dub edits at all in this episode seem to be translating text on the signs and stuff.

The inexplicable badass grandpa who is always everywhere being badass is surprisingly different in japanese! In the dub he's called the producer of Directator's compny, which is awesome and hilarious cos it seems totally in character for him to be off having random adventures with yokai offscreen and constantly defeating them at their own game. In the sub it doesnt have that element of accidental continuity with his first appearance defeating sproink, because instead he is...the journey to the west historical consultant!! Apparantly Directator hired a human to fact check this human story and he just ended up picking the worst possible candidate who enjoys trolling the fuck out of everyone. This gramps going 'yeah looks fine' to all this nonsense has a whole new context, and it also seems to imply Directator is more incompetant rather than intentionally changing the story. Either way though its still hilarious and this grandpa is the goddamn best!

And thats all the major changes, most of the rest is just a stray funny line being only in the dub or only in the sub. I'll try and screencap those later when i rewatch them on a bigger screen

Personally my opinion is that the voice changes in the dub ended up making the characters even more endearing, and most of the added jokes gave me a great laugh cos they referenced specific american filmmakers and stuff. But the japanese version has the advantage of not being this confusing inconsistant dumb attempt to censor the mythology it was based on. And their version of the grandpa gag made slightly more sense because of it. Though him being inexplicably the even more directory director bossman in the dub adds even more to his legend of badassery!

Also Directator as a name is a good pun but it feels like a bit of a bad change cos it doesnt have anything in common with his japanese name except also being related to movies. His sub name is Mister Movien which was like..its already english yo...?? And i just feel like 'hey he is mister something, this is his actual name' is a different vibe to 'The Directator With A Capital The'. Also its easier to search tags on tumblr for mister movien, for some reason directator gets you results for everything individually containing director and dictator also. Like wtf tumblr did you implement an anti punning filter??

ALSO more evidence for my theory that Directator is related to Hoaxy Coaxy: everyone wakes up at home after the film is over and thinks it was a dream, so that totally seems like Directator's powers work the same as Hoaxy Coaxy's. Also both of their sub names are two words both beginning with M. (Moso monmon and mister movien)

Anyway in summaary i am weirdly addicted to this random goofy hollywood dude who only had 1 and a half episodes and never returned. When u get so little screentime youre damn right im gonna keep rewatching it til i die!! HES JUST SO CUTE DAMMIT

when, how and why did you start to ship molliarty and sherlolly?

Loaded question anon. I’M EXCITED TO ANSWER IT. 

When: Late 2012. I was kinda small, a little stupid, and mostly starving for female characters, I think. I mean - idk if anyone remembers a time before peak TV, but those were also rare back in the day. 

How: @creamocrop ! She was writing back then, and she wrote so well. She wrote Molly with so much panache, and I absolutely adored this fanfiction called The Spare Room - so much so that I wrote a paper on it and presented it in a conference. 

Molliarty is a different story - when I was a lot more of a veteran in Sherlolly fic, I was writing a paper on Molly - the same paper which heavily features The Spare Room. And since it was a paper more about Molly than about Sherlolly, I was lurking in the “Molly Hooper” tag more and more often. ANd fucking RONNieE HAPPENED TO ME. @whyimmathere RUINED MY LIFE. SHE SUCKED ME INTO MOLLIARTY AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO ESCAPE. 

Why: This gonna be long. Strap in. 

Molly. 

I didn’t begin by loving Molly, I really didn’t. She was another character, a character I felt really sympathetic for but didn’t think about too much. 

I think it was a slow realisation that Molly was more than a side character in a long quest for Sherlockian drama. Molly fascinated me no end, because as a character who had been less explored in the first two seasons, there was virtually none of her that was not on the table. She could be anyone, she could be anything - and yet, she was so specifically, inescapably Molly. So essentially Molly. 

She was awkward. She was kind. She was brave, but in a slightly… unconscious way? I think my favourite part of Molly was something best illustrated in The Spare Room (I know, I know, I have to stop talking about it) - but she is both an outsider, and an insider. And I’m lifting some analysis from my paper verbatim, but: 

Molly Hooper’s unassuming outside presence is nothing more than a ‘spare room’ for Sherlock’s mental space. Molly’s distinct character traits do not belong in this world, yet, by some miracle, they manage to exist.

She is constantly an outsider - she spends her days with human bodies that don’t speak to her, and has few friends among the “normal” crowd. Amongst the “abnormal” crowd - Sherlock, Mary, John, Mycroft - Molly is inside, and yet she is left out of the narratives of the story. This makes Molly Hooper an interesting combination of various polar elements. She is ordinary in a way that John and Mrs. Hudson are not, yet, at the same time, she was romantically involved with a criminal mastermind, to say nothing of the fact that Sherlock has a preference for her company, and ‘dark humour.’ 

She’s such an odd kind of outsider, that I just think she’d get people like Sherlock or Jim. She’d understand them in a very fundamental level, not to mention the fact that they seem to house soft spots for her which are inexplicable. How did Moriarty share so much of himself with Molly without having her murdered? How is Sherlock able to use her flat as a bolthole without any of the others knowing? What is going on in these relationships? 

And then there’s the fact that Molly is just as good at observation as Sherlock. 

The fun thing about the detective canon is that it has been overwhelmingly male (like all things lololololol i want to die). If it is not masculine, then it is almost certainly one that espouses masculine qualities. Logic. Rationality. Cold intelligence. Information. The sacrosanct character of the Doylian canon is one that is superhumanly male. And I’m not the one saying that, Zepka is, Worthington is, Rowland is. 

So what really interests me about Molly is that she has Sherlock’s qualities of observation - but specifically approached from a more feminine angle. And I think these qualities specifically work really well with the two other characters in these specific ships. My favourite example of this is the “You can see me” scene. 

The exchange highlights Molly’s gentle, yet forceful personality. Sherlock is forced to notice her. Her intuitive human understanding of emotion is what gives her the Sherlockian strength of deduction. Her presence is infiltrative, and, as Sherlock initially sees it, insidious. She destabilises the masculine space by her very existence. The smell that defines her, as well, becomes one with a distinctly feminine association – strawberries. 

I love how many dynamic little boundaries Molly straddles. And this makes her just such a good candidate for me to ship her with either Sherlock, or Jim. I think with someone as complex as Molly, she would engage Sherlock endlessly - and surprise Jim almost constantly. 

And yeah, I know my own conditioning. A part of this is probably because I like seeing the normal girl with the criminal mastermind or the consulting detective, but they don’t figure so much in my reasons. I adore Sherlock (the way fic writes him, perhaps not so much the canon), and I love how unpredictable Jim Moriarty is - but I think the key in both of them is the reason why I find Molly just so shippable with them is just one thing: 

They’re both lonely. (At least, my interpretation of them)

I know John is a foil to Sherlock, and we never see a foil to Moriarty, but Sherlock’s loneliness I have always felt is a step away from John’s understanding. Moriarty’s loneliness is the more obvious one - I always wondered how isolated you’d have to be to compete in a game with the whole world - and that too for boredom’s sake. 

Molly’s loneliness is something so much more practical - so much more of a lived experience, in her case that I think she would understand it on a more foundational level. That’s what I like about these ships, I guess. How well I think they would fit, what good chemistry they would have. I know you were probably expecting more of a “he touched her and he is kind of flustered by her” kind of analysis instead of an extended raphsody into Molly’s character, but that’s meeeeeeeeeeeeee.

OH MAN ok so, an art telephone game is based on, of course, the game telephone, where one person says a phrase and then whispers it to the next person, and so on and on until the person at the very end says whatever they heard and if its done right the final sentence is wildly different than what you started with

an ART telephone game is the same kind of concept, except one person draws out a scene or character, and then other artists draw THEIR interpretation of whats going on, and so forth until the last person can end up with something COMPLETELY different than what the first scene was

youd think thered be less room for error with drawings, but as each person ONLY sees what the person ahead of them has made, they can get PRETTY OUT THERE - im gonna be a part of pythosarts game, and theyve done a couple of em before - for example one round started with THESE as the first two drawings

and then fourteen interpretations later, ended up with these as the final two

YEAH, sort of ! on the main, iguanamouth, i have a bunch of different tags for art depending on what they are but not really a catchall one, BUT i do have an art only blog where everything gets tossed over ! 

HONESTLY THE ADVICE i got is basically what all art advice is gonna boil down to eventually - you gotta just. do it. you gotta DO it

absolutely nobody you know who draws things well started out at the level theyre currently at, and putting down the things youre visualizing onto paper is a combination of getting the the technical aspects down as much as getting the idea in your head

and that goes with figuring out anatomy and how bodies are put together ! ive got to use references for a Million things,. especially the dragon hoards - theres absolutely nothing wrong with using references for your drawings ! and being able to create accurate representations of things without looking is something that comes more with drawing something over and over and memorizing the body shape more than just, feeling like you should KNOW how to do something

so dont beat yourself up for needing references. if youre trying to shy away from them a little bit but still cant make something look nice without em, try using several different reference photos to put together an entirely different pose ? 

theres ALSO the SHRIMP METHOD, which is great for practicing and getting good at one particular thing - this probably isnt SUPER HELPFUL but good luck ! 

god i tried. exactly ONCE maybe fourish years ago but it wasnt art, i was trying to stream the lion king movie and i had no idea what i was doing, i didnt realize i needed to wear headphones so the sound wouldnt snowball into a feedback loop of my own voice that never ended but i kept laughing and it kept distorting worse and worse, like the audio version of saving and resaving something as a jpeg

it was just me and my friend ronni in the stream and ONE other person who never left and never said anything and i kept addressing them out loud like WHO ARE YOU and that only compounded the noise problem and eventually i gave up

like for me i used to have a lot of childhood fears about the ocean, and how deep and dark and vast it was, to the point where i couldnt play a lot of water levels in video games, even ( but i had almost drowned several times when i was Very young which probably had, a little somethin to do with that )

it depends on the age ! wasabis pretty much an adult, so her sheds are pretty infrequent ( usually once every 7-8 months ) BUT when she was still growing back like 6 years ago, she would do a full-body shed every other month !

this is pretty tame BUT the long long lines are from claws, and the thinner, closer together ones are from holding her and her scales scraping against the skin. so not even just the Body is completely safe ! this is not an animal youre gonna wanna get your face real close to if theyre in a walkin mood

she doesnt even MEAN to scratch the shit outta me, its just kind of a byproduct of being a big tree lizard. her tail is absolutely the worst thing to get hit by though. the WORST. lucky me she doesnt attack anything that isnt a dog or a vacuum cleaner or her own reflection

ahhh i got her when i was 16 ! and i dont know her exact age but she was somewhere between 3-6 months when i get her - SHES probably closer to 9 years, but ive had her for about 8

theres a lotta different ways to figure out what kind of rocks you got but when you have absolutely no clue on where to start your best bet is to search for the biggest distinctive features of it, and try to narrow it down based on the results

like for something like these pieces of chalcedony, you could try “waxy green translucent mineral”, and from the search results find a few candidates that might be what you have on hand, and then look into each one to see if you can get a definite answer 

ive got a handful of rock and mineral guide books that i always pick through whenever i snag something im not sure of, and if youre REAL into it those are always something you could start keeping an eye out for 

now this is a REAL superficial way to telling what something is and wont be useful for a good chunk of minerals ( as a lot of samples can look really close to something else ) and THIS is a much more in depth way of telling something apart, but its also a lot more time consuming ! so good luck. and good eating.

unless you plan on having your lizard roam around outside whenever they want, the outside environment doesnt really matter much for most reptiles as long as you set their habitat up right ! BUT i do know that australia has bans on certain reptiles ( iguanas are one of them ) and so youre gonna have to look up whats actually available in that area 

 bearded dragons are native and those are always a good option, but so are a lot of geckos - its really gonna depend on what youre into ( but i dont really recommend anoles if thats an option, because theyre fast as Hell and dont like being handled )

oh geez im sorry ! i remember going through this with spiders a lot when i was younger to the point where looking at photos of em used to be a fuckin, TRIAL 

you could try a really gradual exposure deal, where you start off with getting comfortable with just images, and slowly working your way to dealing with one in a controlled setting ( like a petstore, maybe ? not HANDLING em or anything, but just being near one in a way where its absolutely impossible for them to touch you )

the shitty thing about this kind of phobia is that even if you KNOW its irrational theres sometimes not a lot you can do about it, but if you can stand looking at photos of them you could try learning up about them, and finding out the types of species youre likely to encounter around your house, and seeing how many ( if any ) are ones you should avoid ?

i know some people that have major problems with snakes are because theyre unsure if the ones they find are poisonous or not, and it might go a long way to confirm that the reptiles you meet wont be able to harm you even if they TRIED ( which is gonna be the case with a lotta house geckos, they cant do SHIT youre a GIANT )

very VERY few lizards have venomous bites, and the worst most of em can do is give you a bloody finger if theyre large enough, and even then its usually not much worse than a cat scratch !

still though, if youre really serious about trying to get past this, dont force yourself too quick into what you think you SHOULD be, and take tiny steps outta your comfort level when you can

MMM it shouldnt HURT them unless theres something Really wrong, considering its a natural procession of growth, BUT its definitely itchy as hell, to the point where reptiles trying to remove it will drag their bodies over stones or walls tryin to get it off

sometimes wasabi drags her whole hind foot over her head like a dog to get it off and it is. a Sight

ahhh honestly there arent a lotta reptiles thatre gonna do much more than TOLERATE the touch and not really, enjoy it, like a dog or cat or bird

but speaking from experience with wasabi, youll probably want to avoid most the head and stick with the top of the back near the sides - wasabi doesnt enjoy having her tail messed with much either, but shes ok with her dewlap and feet being touched

the most important thing to keep an eye out for when youre touching one is their body language, because  THATS gonna be a dead giveaway for whether you need to back off or not

closing their eyes is a sign of stress, not enjoyment ! same with tilting the head back, but if thats ALL theyre doing then youre probably not gonna face any retaliation

B U T if theyve got an extended dewlap with a raised body or tail off the ground, not a good idea to interact with em ! thats a defensive posture, and you risk getting hit with a tail or even bitten if your hand gets too close

youve got more to risk with males, who are way more territorial and generally larger, but if they seem pretty chill when you approach and dont stand up and stare at you, youre probably in the clear

hey uh. coming from a person who was absolutely CONVINCED that theyd be dead in the future when they were 12, a not insignificant part of that was me feeling that there was something irreversibly wrong with me for not behaving or acting in certain ways based on what was going downstairs

and obviously im still HERE but it means i can understand how devastatingly terrible it can feel when youre that young and it seems like the way you behave and feel are flawed, or dirty, and anything that can lessen that feeling and make you comfortable in your own body is huge, can save your life

i guess if youre viewing it as adults forcing a child into making decisions that you dont think theyre capable of understanding its easy to be hesitant about getting behind it, but nobody is forcing a child to be trans. nobody has tricked them into feeling this way. you cant just walk in and get started on treatment on an immediate whim - some programs require 2 YEARS of concrete evidence before theyll even consider it

i feel like you should try speaking to the parents of trans children before you really put down a concrete opinion on whether this is a good or bad thing, and seeing the difference ( if any ) its made in their lives 

people whove detransitioned, or found they had ultimately a different identity than the one they were exploring could also be an avenue to look intto ! i have several acquaintances who, after a period of years, found they werent trans but wouldnt take back the time where they were figuring out if they were, and i know this doesnt invalidate the friends i have who ARE

DAMN han actually waited for like me to end work today omg *cries tears of joy on the inside* and he hung around the store for a bit as well!!!! so i literally get to spend the whole day with him omg except i had to remain professional most of the time but ahHhhhh i love it!! just his presence alone makes my heart skip hehe (ꈍᴗꈍ)ε｀*) and then he tried on a couple pieces of clothing and fuckinG hell he i just can't deal w how good he looks in a plaid flannel man like doOoOdddd he looks foKin good so boyfriend look sia!!!!!!!! ok and then i was like i'm gonna buy this for u mi bb do u want it!!!! n he was like naaWww don't waste money i don't rly need it now but i was like????? fOK idc imma get it for u beb and he's like nooooo but he finally relented and was like ok fine fine hehe ok then fast forward ah to ending work time we had to tidy up everything then i asked him to help me put in the tags haahhaah and he rly did aiyo this boyo so qt i should pay him in kisses (alr did ;) heheeh) ok then he had to wait outside for me cus we officially close at 10 so he waited an hour for me omg fk i think his whole rs w me just consist of him mostly waiting for me sia hais but ok then U KNOW WHAT OR NOT WAH RLY DAMN SAD someone stole his recently bought clothing from the store wah damn dog istg if i catch that person i will ask him or her if she's rly that fokin poor to steal cb go work la!!!!!!! ok but then he said he dunno if he misplaced it then someone took it or smth but i was like???? even if u misplaced it that someone could have returned it to the lost and found area OR SMTH BUT NO THAT PERSON TOOK IT HOME WAH FK I WAS DAMN PANAS want to hurl abuse then i kinda took it out on the security guard lmaO sorry but idk la in the heat of the moment u know but money v precious now cannot anyhow throw. then after that we were walking to the bus stop n then han was like eh u suddenly so calm only and i was like ya i realized that nothing can be done even if i'm angry lol then he's like ya see this is why guys can handle things rationally unlike girls bc y'all let ur emotions take control of u (smth liddat ah idk) then i'm like????? ugh can't fight back bc it's true at least for me la. oh and the HAN PAID FOR THE TOPS ON HIS OWN ALSO OK like?? ok la one of it he wanted to buy for himself but the other one i meant to buy it for him omg like u know first pay gift (even tho its still about 6 more days till my first pay hahaha but since we're alr there then like advanced ah hehe) AND YA IDK LA JUST V ANGRY OK JUST NOW ok then we took the bus back and i asked him if i should get smth to eat then he's like "are u hungry?" and i was like nah just kinda wanna drink smth hahaahah and he was like lol?? bc i was alr holding onto a bottle of milk tea i bought before work. so we didn't get anything to eat or drink and then he sent me home!!!!!! oh and i also just started taking some fiber supplements today to help me with pooping regularly!!!!!! fuckin $70 for one box of 15 days fuck expensive but apparently to see any changes and rly have ur toxins in ur body rinse outta its intestines u gotta be on it for like 2-3 months at least wtf idk how long i must work to to pay for this expensive shit. and ya ofc i know i can just eat veggies but sorry fam ur girl isn't a fan of like 95% of veggies in the world ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ok gonna end this post abruptly bc im tired and this getting way tooooo long + it's alr 4:15am now hahahaahahha thank you bb!!!!! for waiting for me all the time and esp today bc u had to endure 4 hours of waiting for me to end work :') OH AND DID U KNOW!!! when he sent me home i was like sorry u had to wait for so long for me to end work :(((( then he's like "even if you don't have work i'll still wait for u" smth along that line la but hehe so cheesy so sweet this boy!!!! ok time to sleep goodnight!!!!!!! i love you ♥♥♥
