wip wednesday! still diligently chugging away at finishing some things.
this is less of a sneak peak and more of a probably going to get drastically edited down and become an outtake once i figure out how much backstory is too much backstory. i've been trying to improve my habits and hork up words without overthinking everything too much just to finish complete working drafts. anyway, that's why it's so long.
if you want to read other bits of what was meant to be pwp and has turned into a nothing hurts, post-s4 epic with a rebekah-centric prequel, the order it occurs is:
this week's
then this
this
this one
then this
and finally this
probably. it's probably that order. idk. insomnia is a thing that is happening again.
The mansion was dark when she pulled up. Even the exterior lights were out. Not that she was surprised. Klaus rarely turned them on unless he was expecting human company.
Say you're a creature of the night without saying you're a creature of the night, she told him once. Why don't you go ahead and shout it?
Klaus, she'd learned, went a little bit feral when he was at loose ends. He wasn't great at pretending to be human to begin with. Too many years of being too powerful, too wealthy, too Klaus to bother. It's not that he was rude to waitstaff or anything like that. He just didn't care about the little, everyday interactions that went along with being a person in a functioning society. He'd told her story after story about interesting things that had happened around him in the years he'd been alive, but they rarely involved his own participation. The ones that did were usually about some sort of caper. Art he'd compelled into museums and collections under bland assumed names. The milder sorts of mischief he'd got up to with Kol or occasionally Elijah, to Caroline's surprise. He didn't tell many stories about Rebekah, and Caroline wasn't sure if that was a subtle, ingrained sexism, or because he was leaving Rebekah's stories to Rebekah. She wasn't quite the orator her brother was. Caroline learned that quickly. She'd been surprised by how quiet the other woman could be. Rebekah often needed prompting to share anything, but it was almost better that way. At least it was with her. Caroline was hesitant to admit how much she liked Klaus' tendency to be a little bit of a showoff. She wouldn't want to inflate his ego, of course, but it had been a little bit scary how much he entertained her, too.
She let herself into the house the way she had dozens of times previously, even before she'd liked him, or could admit she did. It was inky dark inside, the light of the waning moon barely making a difference. She listened for him, trying to catch the sound of a paintbrush or the turning of pages, but the house was silent.
"Up here, sweetheart," he murmured after giving her a moment to try to puzzle it out herself.
"Did you already go to bed?" Caroline triangulated his location and trotted upstairs, her heels clicking against the ostentatious staircase. Rebekah's heels, technically, but she had a habit of buying things, deciding she didn't like them after all, and passing them off to Caroline without worrying about having spent $1200 on a pair of strappy stilettos that didn't suit her. "I know you're old, but that's pretty boring."
"Says the young woman who abandoned her evening plans to drive an hour in order to find this old man."
She wandered the dim hallways upstairs, letting herself get a little bit distracted by the artwork lining the walls. There was too much to ever really take in at once, and Klaus often manifested new pieces, seemingly out of nowhere. Some were from online auctions, he'd explained warily, once, waiting for her to snap at him, and then, when he realized she was genuinely curious, went into more detail as time went on. He had climate controlled storage facilities nearly everywhere in the world, some for his whole family, but many secret ones only he knew about. With Mikael dead and Klaus more or less on tolerable terms with the residents of Mystic Falls, he'd started sending for more of his favorites. Rebekah's, too, though he'd need a personality transplant to get him to admit to doing something nice specifically for her.
And there were some he'd either bought or brought in, because he'd thought Caroline would like them and was trying to get a more precise sense of her taste. He never pointed them out, but always seemed to know which ones she lingered over the most. While her taste in paintings was, in Rebekah's assessment, pretty, but obvious, they'd both been surprised by how often Caroline found herself in the solarium, staring at a sculpture by Tony Cragg. Klaus had smiled knowingly, though, and explained that Cragg used mathematical formulas as the basis of his art. No matter how haphazard they might seem, there was precision in his work some people responded to without knowing why.
Caroline was pretty sure Klaus had switched out a few paintings near the top of the stairs. She'd have to ask later. He always seemed so pleased when she noticed, and she was planning on taking Art History next semester, anyway. The acting class she'd thought would be fun was a mix of uninspiring and irritating, and she'd shuffled a theater major into the probably not column.
The room with northern exposure Klaus used as his atelier was dark, so she turned the corner and found light diffusing into the darkness from his bedroom. He was stretched out on the settee shoved in one corner, directly across from the open balcony doors. The late summer heat had eased enough that the breeze coming in was a pleasant contrast to the warmth of the room. She could feel the humidity in the air from the shower he'd just taken in the en suite. He'd only bothered putting on a pair of dark pajama pants, and his hair, which had been well into unkempt territory the last time she saw him and was now on the verge of shaggy, was still damp enough to curl into incredibly unfair, glossy ringlets. When left to its own devices, her own formed into an ill-behaved mass of cowlicks and loose waves, with the occasional sproingy curl poking out at random.
Caroline had worn a dress she'd bought at a boutique near Whitmore that afternoon with Rebekah. They'd arranged their schedules to always have Fridays off and had used the past few weeks to explore the surrounding area. The boutique and nearby coffee shop and bakery had become a favorite of theirs. The clothes were cute, college age appropriate, and weren't so expensive that they made Caroline uncomfortably reconsider the application of compulsion in retail settings. The café made a mean raspberry mocha and had tiramisu brownies that never failed to improve her mood.
It was a great dress. She'd decided the night called for breaking the golden rule of fashion and bought something sassy that showcased both leg and cleavage. It had worked at the bar. She hadn't paid for a single drink all night, but Klaus barely allowed a flicker downward before he returned his eyes to hers, lifting his glass of probably bourbon--it was never not bourbon, unless it was wine or champagne--to his mouth.
"Do you still want to fuck me or what?" she said too loudly, even with the ambient racket of crickets outside trying to pick up someone, too.
Klaus shot into a more upright position, making a choked, heaving sound, and coughed like he was playing Beth in a community theater production of Little Women.

top 5 B99 episodes?
OFFICIALLY MY FAVORITE ASK EVER. okay so spoilers for most of the show up ahead, BE WARNED!
s1 e6, halloween – the original halloween heist episode is really important to me for a couple reasons actually. i think this is the episode where a certain bond between holt & jake is established. holt is willing to indulge jake in his crazy ideas, it just has me thinking: maybe holt really does care :) my favorite episodes are always the ones where jake gets the whole cast involved in his shenanigans, it really brings home the found family dynamic of the show.
s4 e18, cop-con – this episode is also important to me for Holt Reasons. he wasn't mad that his team had disobeyed his orders to stay in line at the convention, he was mad that they hadn't thought to invite him. i think this is where we see the team involving their captain in their adventures more often.
s5 e22, jake and amy – i think this episode was great for a lot of reasons, not just because of the Jake And Amy Finally Get Married bit. like, we watch literally everything go wrong on what was supposed to be their special day, but they still pull through. and i don't say this as a case of: wow they're so strong. no, they used their coworkers and boss to get there. im hearing you say: "wow zane why is this important??" im so glad you ask... jake has a known thing for hating to work on teams unless he can take charge, and amy has a similar deal where she always needs to be in charge as a way to make sure everything gets done correctly. but at this point in the show they had gained enough trust within the team to be like: yes, i trust you not to mess things up, even on our big day. it was something special to watch amy not crumble under the pressure of something she had planned so perfectly just go So Badly. it's something about the way she knew as long as she ended the day with jake, things would be fine.
s3 e23, greg and larry – i always love the episodes with tons of plot twists, which is probably part of the reason i've always enjoyed this episode so much.  i love the idea of the team coming together to help out holt, who for the longest time had no one on the police force backing him up because of his identity as a black gay officer. this episode was also the start of the mess that was season 4, where jake & holt had to run off to florida to go undercover. i think the fact that holt and jake did the undercover mission together was really important to the story as a whole. by this point it's clear that holt sees jake as a son, and jake sees holt as a father figure; the anger that holt shows jake on this mission was really just thinly veiled care, and fear of seeing his son get hurt.
s6 e18, the suicide squad – how do i even put into words how much i adore this episode. wow. members of the 99 are teaming up with their old allies to stop the corruption being caused by commissioner kelly. i think this entire episode just goes to show that they all care more about the good of the nypd rather than whatever beef they may have with whoever. decades of bitter rivalry is set aside so that they can stop the corruption from inside the police department. i think my favorite part of this episode was holt having to deal with the fact that if he messed this up it would be throwing away everything he had worked so hard as a police officer to achieve. he had fixed so many issues within the nypd at this point, and he had to decide between continuing a bitter rivalry versus saving everything he had worked to change. idk, one of my favorite parts of the show was always the way that holt very seriously cared about the core of the nypd remaining being about helping the citizens of new york, rather than turning into a game of politics.
OKAY IM DONE BLABBING. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE ASK HEHE

So, how did each of the girls deal (or are dealing) with gaining their enchantix? We've seen some chapters of them talking about it, but what was it like for them individually? Like.... their feelings on how it happened, their new powers etc
SPOILERS FOR HOW THE GIRLS GAINED ENCHANTIX AND A BIT ABOUT NEW POWERS AND HOW THEY FELT ABOUT IT
Aisha: probably had like… the ‘calmest’ Enchantix since she was with her aunt and bleed out so it wasn’t too sudden.
She feels more connected to the weather, ocean and even people (we are 70% water yall), she can tell when people are sick and stuff like that. I think for her it was worse to be blind for a week than it was to gain her Enchantix, she more often has nightmares about going blind again than dying under the waves
She was obviously traumatized but she was (at the moment) at peace with giving her life up to save her aunt so that helps her a lot.
Stella: she doesn’t like her new powers all that much. She’s always had conflicted feelings about moon magic and on bad days she tries to avoid mirrors so she won’t catch glimpses of weird things.
For her it was a lot more sudden and she was kinda left with a really big fear of her magic turning on her again and burning her from the inside out. It was very traumatic and she’s learning to fully trust her powers again.
She tries not to actually think about her death too much, I don’t think she’s fully processed that part of gaining Enchantix yet.
Musa: she might have the most traumatic one since she literally killed someone as she gained Enchantix and had to claw her way out of a figurative grave. She has learned to control her new powers and is only really bothered by them when she’s very stressed.
For her the murder hangs over her head more than Enchantix. We’ll see that she has some survivor guilt in s4 and that she feels like… idk how to even describe it but it hangs over her a lot more than she lets on.
She’s been so focused on the death that she hasn’t thought a lot about her own death.
Flora: she will continue to learn to embrace her new powers and fully understand them over s4. But at the beginning she was terrified of them
She’s def on the more… ‘Eldritch horror’ side of Enchantix. Partly because she ‘knows’ or ‘senses’ things now because of the Black Willow and partly because of the way in which her powers changed. Sometimes she doesn’t feel fully human (this specific part we’ll see more of in s4)
She tries to be at peace with what happened, but she’s still figuring out if it was just because of the comfort of the Willow.
Tecna: her death was kinda planned out, and very much overshadowed by Omega. She actually kinda likes her new powers.
She was at peace with her death when gaining Enchantix but when it comes to almost dying in Omega, that she is still trying to fully process and get through the loadfull of trauma that that week brought upon her
Bloom: the Enchantix destabalized her powers in a way so she is just trying to hold on. She is furious over all of it because ‘why is it always me?’ But this conflicts with a feeling of almost relief because she was the only one without Enchantix and a part of her felt like she should also have to pay the price the Winx did.
We are yet to really see her ‘new’ powers.

also speaking of AUs and since you were curious about it earlier when i didn't have my computadora @all-seeing-ifer here's a basic outline of how my ats s4 cordelia-is-the-beast idea would go. there's more stuff with the other characters but this writeup is focused on the main beats of the cordelia & jasmine plot. amazingly enough this is indeed the short version!
a key aspect of this concept, and imo of any good ats s4 rewrite, is giving cordelia a voice. in this rewrite we are alerted to cordelia's possession at the end of "apocalypse nowish" (more on that in next bullet point). from then on we get to see scenes inside cordelia's head where she is interacting with jasmine (who isn't named jasmine yet obviously but for efficiency's sake let us call her that) and commenting on the goings-on around her.
one element that isn't strictly necessary for this idea to work is that connor is not romantically in love with either real cordelia or jasmine-possessed "cordelia"; instead, jasmine positions herself as a mother figure to connor & tells him how cordelia took care of him as a baby. i admit to finding the pseudo-incest aspect of s4 kind of utterly fascinating but while it's interesting to explore in fanfic i ultimately don't really think ats had anything especially interesting to say on the subject & frankly i think the story kind of coheres better if jasmine is a maternal figure instead. you can still have angel be jealous of their bond -- they were supposed to be a family together & now they're excluding him?? :[ < angel's sad face (w/ fangs because he is a vampire) -- and you can also deal more directly with connor's parental issues. plus it makes the jasmine/darla scene in "inside out" even more poignant.
so with this in mind, the cliffhanger at the end of "apocalypse nowish" is that "cordelia" is watching the rain of fire while connor sleeps and we see her slowly smile and then we zoom into her mind and see jasmine, still wearing cordelia's face, gloating to the real cordelia (who is like. tied up or something. in her mind. idk.) that none of her friends suspect a thing.
so basically: we know cordelia learned how to do basic astral projection in "birthday". we also are never shown what her demon half looks like. the idea is that, while cordelia herself is trapped in her own mind, she is able to astral-project her demon half to carry out various attempted interventions in jasmine's plans.
due to reasons [i can explain the reasons but it requires a lot of context lol], the beast cannot communicate using language, speech, writing, anything like that. it can gesture and give Significant Looks and that's it. so cordelia cannot convey to angel investigations anything that's going on, even though she sometimes tries.
prior to "calvary", it would seem to both the audience and the fang gang that the beast is evil and working for jasmine, as it always shows up at scenes of massacres (the eye of fire, wolfram & hart, the svear house). at these massacres, it often kneels by the dying people and appears to drain some kind of energy from them; in actuality this is cordelia taking the pain of the dying person which we know she can do qv "benediction". the beast also performs the ritual to blot out the sun which we later learn is because jasmine needs the sun to be shining in order to be born.
neither jasmine nor the beast manipulate the fang gang into removing angel's soul, they misinterpret things and do that all on their own. in this version though angel does not remember the beast at all. however, jasmine needs angel souled for her plan to work [again, due to reasons lol], so after the svear massacre, which cordelia begged jasmine not to go through with, cordelia in her beast form steals angel's soul. jasmine does not know it is cordelia controlling the beast but she knows the beast is trying to stop her, so she lets angel out of his cage so as to try to force the beast's hand to return angel's soul. she still kills lilah and this is how the audience learns the beast does not work for her -- the beast arrives at the hotel just a little too late to save lilah and the cliffhanger of "calvary" is jasmine taunting it that at this rate it'll never stop her.
jasmine maybe also absorbs lilah into the mindspace with her and cordelia as well? so as to prevent her from showing up as a wolfram & hart ghost and spilling the beans.
jasmine's pregnancy is just a virgin birth situation which impresses connor and he plans to be the best big brother ever. maybe it's even a metaphorical pregnancy?
previous 2 bullet points i still need to work on. anyway, wesley gets faith etc., they're not able to defeat angel or find his soul though.
angel lures cordelia's parents to her old apartment and kills them. then he calls up spike and inquires after xander. at this point, feeling both grief and guilt as well as hopelessness from jasmine insisting that her plan will be able to move forward with a soulless angel, just at a delayed pace, cordelia gives in and the beast shows up and returns angel's soul to him.
the beast takes angel on a little excursion to various places in their history which angel does not understand and at first he thinks the purpose is to make him feel bad because well it's angel what do you expect him to think. then the beast takes him to point dume and leads him into the water and has a little splash fight with him and angel relaxes and realizes the beast wanted to communicate that he was being forgiven for something. But What? he wonders.
at this point harmony shows up to talk to cordelia [she's also in the earlier part of the season but that's a story for the long version...] and she notices something is amiss. also around this time the fang gang have uncovered information that leads jasmine to realize that cordelia is the beast although she does not vocalize this. harmony realizes cordelia is possessed because her outfit is ugly, and when jasmine tries to stake her, the beast bursts in and spirits harmony away. jasmine gives a dramatic speech to the air where she reveals she knows the beast is cordelia. this is the cliffhanger ending of "orpheus" and also the point where the audience is let in on the truth about the beast as well.
jasmine leads the fang gang through a ritual to force the beast permanently back to its source body which would trap cordelia entirely under her control. the ritual works and jasmine leaves only for harmony to show up [after a battle with jasmine's servants] and be like hey guys cordelia is possessed.
after this s4 plays out more or less like the show does except that the demon species that the beast is part of is the same species that jasmine once ruled over and can pronounce her true name. so in order to defeat jasmine cordelia has to wake up and say her name out loud. darla comes to visit her in her sleep and tells her this. but if she does so then it would drain the rest of her energy and leave her in a coma potentially forever. she's like so wake me up already. she shows up at the hotel and says jasmine's name and falls back into a coma but this time it was on her own terms.
again this is the short version ._. if you can believe it...

I think I know now why the writers decided in favor of pre-reveal Adrienette. Adrien desperately needs someone to be there for him in his civilian life and inspire him to solve his problems. Unfortunately, Ladybug can't do it without one or both of them revealing their identities, and I guess now isn't the time for an identity reveal yet. What do you think?
I think what a lot of people in the fandom forget is that seasons 4 and 5 were written together, so this whole arc over the last couple of seasons was planned at the same time. It wasn't a random occurrence or the writers just up and deciding to throw something in for shits and giggles. It was deliberate, and likely important for whatever plans they have moving forward.
As a writer, I understand the importance of having the whole picture, which is why I often just tell people to wait and see what happens. Additionally, because I am accustomed to view storytelling from a writing lens, I can say that pre reveal Adrinette wasn't that surprising to me. I saw the hints and signs of it since s1, and especially after what happened in s4, I can see why Adrinette is happening over the other sides. There were certain key developments throughout season 4 that lead to where we are now.
I think the other factor goes along with what you're saying in that we don't fully know the extent of the Agreste plotline yet. We have a lot of speculation, but we don't know it as well as the writers do. I definitely think there is something to what you're saying. Adrien can't go to Ladybug about his home life, which is a very huge problem for his character. His home life has been at the center of this show just as much as the love square. His home life has been the main plot since s1 because everything in the show is linked to it. And one of the main reasons I've appreciated this season so much is it's finally allowing Adrien to speak up and realize that something in his life is very wrong, and he needs help. He needs someone to support him and help him stand up for himself because he can't (either because he's a sentibeing and literally cannot bc he is being controlled or bc the psychological abuse is so bad. Possibly both). And you could argue that they should just reveal their identities already, but the thing is, canon only gets 1 shot to do the permanent reveal. It's not like fanfic where we can write as many reveals as we want. Canon gets 1. And idk about yall, but as someone who has been in this fandom for years, I want that 1 moment to be the biggest one in the show because it has been the whole shtick of this show since it premiered. I want it to be good, ya know?
The way I see it, this season had a two fold problem as it relates to Adrinette. The first one is the situation with Adrien and his homelife, and they set Marinette up to be his person for that at the end of s4 (I mean honestly she kind of has been for a while, but Risk really drove that point home). The second is Marinette's trauma surrounding love. Because of everything, she convinced herself that she was not worthy of love and could not have love because it leads her to making big mistakes. It's clearly an issue the writers wanted to resolve before the reveal. Why? We will have to find out, but my best guess is they have other plans for post reveal that require them to be past this point and go through all of the development they're going through. Everything I've seen and read has told me this season is wrapping up the Agreste plotline we've been following since s1, and we are seeing evidence of that with how things have been progressing. I'm not gonna spoil later episodes for those who haven't watched, but it's clear that something final is going to happen on that front this season. And with how fucked up that whole situation is, yeah, I can see why they gave Adrien a cute gf to hold his hand and help him through it just like I can see why they gave Marinette a cute and patient bf to hold her hand and help her through her shit. Narratively, with everything we've been given, it makes sense to me.
So, yeah, I can see where you're coming from. I think there is more to it, but I think that is one of the reasons we're seeing pre reveal Adrinette this season. I think we also forget that the writers like the love square too. I'm sure they've been waiting for this moment just as long, if not longer, than we have. But they have to be purposeful with how they do things in order to tell the story they're trying to tell. I think this season as well as s4 will make a lot more sense once we have all of it, and we can go back and watch everything in context and see where all the threads were leading. MLs biggest struggle has always been the broadcasting schedule and leaks. People get spoiled to things they don't have context for yet and then run with wild assumptions and bad faith interpretations. It's unfortunately been this way since s1, so I don't see it getting better. 🤷‍♀️ Either way, I think you're definitely on the right track, and I'm curious to see how the rest of their relationship unfolds and bridges the gap we have between episode 11 and episode 20. I think the missing episodes will provide a lot of context that we are missing.

c1x5 chill goes thru her veins
I feel bad for the stunt actor. Why are those lights turning on?
Beautiful intro <3 with her ring & gun & stuff. (but she just keeps it in a drawer...? No surely that drawer is locked... gun laws in the usa can't be THAT lax...) Beautiful red coat. We need more of that in later seasons. She should shave her head, but like in a sexy way. For the leabians.
JE: Why can't they find bodies between 9 and 5? KB: Well, early bird gets the collar. *castle running around before beckett can even drink her coffee* JE: He was here before I was.
Poor lanie, she's there just as early as anyone. XD cold case LP claims she's frozen solid, but let's just make a note of that. Captions say mid-40s & i'm assuming that means 40-50 f not negative 40? That's what like 12 degrees c? Nope, 40f is 4c. not quite cold enough to freeze, not solid, even with wind. Lol ruby slippers Ok but bodies float in concrete Maybe the killer is just really flaky like me. Or maybe they killed her & didn't know what to do so they froze her until they came up with a plan.
I'm watching s4 with my family rn & the technology is booming. Reminds me of s2 when the fbi came in. Legit made me laugh out loud when castle made that wilford warfstache face. This seems like a good time to remembe MMIWP; missing & murdered indigenous women/people. It is literally an ongoing genocide, idk much abt the USA but indigenous people are disproportionately represented in cases like this in canada. Indigenous men are actually more at-risk for murders than women, though women are more at-risk for disappearances & sexual abuse. They are even overturning things like ICWA, FNMI kids are already overrepresented in the foster care system, forced genocidal assimilation is happening under our noses Right Now. Everyone is an ally until it is time to do some ally shit.
KR: Sure they do. Quantum physics, alien abductions, Schrödinger's cat. One minute, you're getting a hot dog in the park, the next you're fighting off Sleestaks on the far side of a dimensional rift. BRUH??? Reminds me of the alien episode in s2 or s3. Oh woman I remember in Range class we had our turkeys out all weekend & they were still frozen
KB: Okay, I'm on my way KB: Lanie's got an ID. So u don't need to look thru missing persons anymore right? RC, to rysposito: You'll take care of these? *leaves* JE: Hey, Ryan, can you, uh… Thanks. *also leaves poor ryan to go through or put away the files* Poor Ryan, he's just staring at espt leave with such hurt, his eyes just moving all over the table & room, & his mouth slightly open. He's left to deal with this. They really are treating him like the new guy even tho he really is not he's been there long enough in canon.
WOAH FIVE YEARS IS A LONG TIME BABES
Steals his coffee Ofc he's a speedreader. I like how later they use that skill again. ok but she disappears often, she's gone for weeks at a time occasionally, the guy probably wouldn't have called in until seven days after she's gone Flirting with her lol. He probably thought she ran away for the first six months then figured she was gone for good or passed away.
R u using a 5yo file? Oh. Yeah five years. So new york "idc that the previous tenant was murdered, it keeps the rent low"
JE: Well, four years between murders? One's a popsicle, one just got popped? I love castle's shirt texture, I just want to feel it. KR: I don't believe it. RC: Give me 250 pages, I bet I could make you. KR: *chuckles* But he's right. "250 pages is 125 000 words single-spaced or 62 500 words double-spaced. Typical documents that are 250 pages or more include full-length novels."
CASTLE I could call it, "A Chill Runs Through Her Veins." ESPOSITO Ooh. I like that. [Castle and Esposito five-five.] CASTLE "Bam" said the lady, another best-seller for me.
(https://scriptline.livejournal.com/18916.html for my quotes, it's so much faster than typing them out. sometimes.)
You know, ppl ship caskett (obv, & then it eventually eventually finally becomes canon) & ppl ship rysposito (I can see why, plus if caskett is together obv rysposito would be together) but tbh I like castito or casposito or castlesito or estle or espostle or espositle or javick rickvier or whatever their ship name it. Probably casposito.
Hmmm. Homeless, White Plains. Homeless, White Plains. JE: both kinda creepy
I love him with his kids (possibly spoilers) I think I know how it ends, I feel like the parents will end up having done this & the kids will end up parentless & then grandparentless. Or maybe the husband did it & then the grandparents killed the husband bc screw you for robbing my daughter of her life & my grandkids of their mom & I'm not letting my grandbabies be raised by a murderer (unless they become murderers in which case.... you lost your point)
drinkin coffee in a bar. I mean he's right ig but at the same time screw you & acab. Oh war vet? Yeah no hun cops feel more brotherhood with soldiers than they feel responsibility to their jobs. The entire system is crap. I want to say "than they feel responsible for the ppl they are meant to protect" but... they aren't really "meant" to protect them. They are meant to police them.
That's why u like castle. He spins crazy theories instead of making things fit into a box. (except he still says "that's not how I would write it") Castle sherlock holmes moments.
JE: A couple of bucks jogged his memory. Yeah man Already have their little handshake uwu Reminds me of ochoa/herve doing the big handshake. I feel like castle wrote a cool handshake (made it up) for roach & then they put it in the movie but castle didn't actually know how to do the handshake.
Oh gosh this poor man. Only this time, all I find is a freezer plugged into a light outlet -- which, by the way, is totally illegal. So valid bestie. (I love him so much.) One time I had to make a mini model of a house for math class but it was my best friend & me & we were both disabled so we handed in the simplest project we could & got in trouble for it. Then our parents helped us out, they put in the water heater. Paul said "lets use this little pill bottle, we can glue it to the wall here" but then my dad chips in 'That's a Code Violation, man!' as if code violations matter in our little model. Both dads cracked up. It was funnier when it happened... (& whenever we go to tour dream homes dad points out the code violations. & ofc count how many secret rooms we can make. Not that we'd ever live there.) Oh fun fact, if you make a double male extension cord you can power your neighbour's apartment if they forgot to pay their electrical bill, JUST so they can like, keep their fridge running so their food doesn't spoil. Some anarchosocialist cyberpunk for ya. I mean the man's right. I see why he did what he did. People are really good at not seeing homeless people.
Man kept the freezer? ofc it's cash. every six months, plus three months of grace. Two months after the man is dead! So valid bestie, keep the footage of the last two weeks, but who has space for more than that?
If not x, then y. if not her, then him. If not sam, then whoM? Him=whom, he=who. Who did it? He did it. It was whom? It was him.
Mmm leftovers. That's a heck of an empty freezer. Hey self cleaning oven, sort of like that episode in s3! Did you know you can jerry your oven open during self clean mode to make it into a pizza oven? Don't do it tho. AC: Did I stop, or did something stop me? I love her RC: It's family moments like these I will never forget. AC: With a good therapist, hopefully, I will. DSAFHDSJHADSKJH
I like beckett's coat. This Wyler fellow seems neat. I like him. Man remembers the bf's name?
This boy looks like someone I've seen before. Maybe that actor/directer, gary sinus I like his shirt. Seems like a nice prison uniform. This fellow seems neat. Oh. I love & respect this man. I love him sm. This is tragic.
Sometimes I'm very "guy" but other times I am so obviously raised female, but I was also raised catholic. Nice pride flag lol B'y I think it's a bad idea to tell these children what happened to their mom, at least in any detail. They're kids. Or at most tweens.
What if GARY killed sam? He wasn't dead for four years or so, you could have come forward. he WAS dead for the past year, you could have come forward w/o fear.
Ooh this is the coolest & sweetest thing. I love their laser tag gear. RC: Mom! We are totally doing battle on the field of honor. MR: How old are you? RC: Old enough to afford the top-of-the line laser tag. You know that's what they tell addicts. The only fun you had was drinking & now you don't have that hobby? All your friends do drugs so you're out a community? Do what you wanted to do when you were a kid, now that you are an adult with adult money. Buy yourself an easy bake oven, go play laser tag, take that gymnastics class you wanted to do all throughout elementary. RC: I'm dead! MoOm!
I like how castle doesn't try to make himself look like a presentable adult, he opens the door & shoots his laser gun. Poor beckett. She knocks on his door & then gets laser shot by a novelist she was a fan of who is now shadowing her on crime cases, then his daughter comes out from behind him, also wearing all this laser gear (including the fact that she is a responsible adolescent), & then his mom comes in from the side with a towel on her head & a mask on her face. "Pehtikwe"
Is this the first time she has been in his house? Or did she arrest him here once? She is indeed a comic fan, remember the vampire episode? It's like a murder board. Lol jinx. I like castle's sweater here.
See? Most ppl don't own a car in a city like that. Point for the adhd castle headcanon. Goes on a tangent like that. Plus, he's very childish sometimes, very childlike /pos sometimes, he procrastinates a lot, then he hyperfocuses & bangs out a novel, he can think inside or outside the box but he threw the box away so he doesn't know if he's thinking in or out, he is not very good at following instructions lol (you know i was diagnosed with ODD & recently I found out & thought "that's just what they diagnose you with when you don't understand things & so you ask questions or refuse to do things or you don't like being a child treated like you are not a person; that's why so many ppl grow out of of" & I Was Right, BUT that's only the misdiagnoses, ODD is actually a mood disorder, which might be why I kind of got over it when I went on mood stabilizers. Fun fact for ya)
It's late at night they just went to his house? Or maybe it's the next day.
ROGER They told me he was shot in a mugging. And now you're telling me, he was killed here, in my apartment?
CASTLE Not him. His wife.
ROGER His wife? What kind of family was this?
CASTLE Alright. So, you and I are married.
BECKETT We are not married.
CASTLE Relax. It's just pretend.
BECKETT I don't want to pretend.
CASTLE Scared you'll like it?
BECKETT Okay. If we're married, I want a divorce.
ROGER Are you two like this all the time?
CASTLE and BECKETT Yes.
(usually they give opposing answers. JE: yes; KB: no; RC: I wish; KR: ...??? Ok!)
Castle puts down the pan but beckett still has the pot *closes door on roger* *hands the pot back to roger*
Need to go to the eco station? Call your buddy with a truck.
I still respect this guy to a degree. I love the way his voice is breaking. This poor fellow.
Cap's right. what goes around comes around.
I remember how it ends. Not five years ago. Plainclothes. Melanie's dad. He did his own detective work & I'm proud. I know what you mean castle but you kind of can't do that.
I feel really bad bc he's just trying to be a good grampa, he is raising his grandkids, he solved his daughter's murder & paid justice to sam. Tho he probs could have gone to the police. Also why do those kids look native? Melanie & her parents are white af. IG we've never seen sam's body/picture so maybe he was native or a poc.
Dad, they probs don't have the evidence to convict you. Don't confess & you can get away with it. Ah I see why he did it now. R u allowed to bring back a service weapon? Good on him, he said a father MIGHT be justified. Never said he did it.
Oh beckett sharing her story!
We were supposed to go to dinner together - my mom, my Dad, and I, and she was gonna meet us at the restaurant, but she never showed. Two hours later, we went home, and there was a detective waiting for us. Detective Raglin. They found her body. She had been stabbed. She still had her money and purse and jewelry. And it wasn't a sexual assault, either. They attributed it to gang violence. Random wayward event. So, just like in Melanie's case, they couldn't think outside the box. So, they just tries to package it up nicely. And the killer was never caught.
CASTLE Why do you wear the watch?
BECKETT My Dad took her death hard. He's sober now. Five years. So, this is for the life that I saved. And...
[She reaches in her shirt and pulls out the necklace with the ring on it.]
BECKETT (CONT'D) this is for the life that I lost.
Oof, so good. So good. I love them.
CASTLE Until tomorrow, Detective.
BECKETT You can't just say "night?"
CASTLE I'm a writer. "Night" is boring. "Until tomorrow" is more hopeful.
The second cree word of this post: Wapaki. It means "tomorrow" but cree words are long. It means more like "if the sun rises tomorrow" & it implies that we have FAITH that the sun will rise tomorrow, we can't actually tell the future. We are just doing what we can. If, if the sun rises tomorrow.
& she doesn't lock her gun in her drawer.
Esposito & castle & getting the file & how did he convince espt to do this.
[41:50, INT. PRECINCT, RECORDS ROOM - NIGHT] Esposito enters, followed by Castle.
[Esposito leads him past rack after rack of file boxes, until he comes to one and opens it. He pulls out a file and hands it to Castle.]
ESPOSITO Remember, this never happened. I was never here.
CASTLE You have my word. Thanks.
[Esposito clears his throat]
ESPOSITO If you tell her I did this, I'll make you bleed.
CASTLE Understood.
ESPOSITO Good luck.
[The name on the file: Johanna Beckett. Castle takes a seat at a table and turns on the desk light as Esposito leaves, dousing the overheads. Lit by the light of the lamp, Castle looks down at the case file. He takes a breath, and opens it.]
I should do some chores.

I agree with this but imo Id find it difficult to "balance" it out in a way that feels in character
S1-S3!Eren -> is impulsive and loses control often of his titan and acts more emotionally EVEN when he tries too keep a cool head. But then S4!/Timeskip! Eren learns how to control everything due to him prioritizing his goals and "moving forward no matter what" and might act cold and calculated in order to reach his goals even in titan form. He also gained more powers which makes him a bit unpredictable as he plans in advance.
Annie -> is calculated and surpresses her emotions in general so her titan has every move planned and doesn't show an inch of emotion. Every actions she does is out of need to keep to the plan and not because she is emotional like Eren (who would just growl his anger out while Annie would he as quiet as a mouse).
Bertholdt -> is hella difficult due to him being gigantic and deadly. His form would actually be a liability to do anything because of the heat and size.
Reiner -> in the beginning he is very determined and has this dutiful outlook on everything so he'd see himself as a hero - and his titan might pose in a heroic way as a defender. After the timeskip imo he'd see himself as a sacrifice and liability. Always on the move to protect.
Armin -> might actually use his titan in a more tactical way. He's a man that convinces with words and his titan is a certain way to get rid of all obstacles in a physical way.
Zeke -> my beloved he'd be just like himself all the time lol. Prattling and talking your ear off that he knows best but well, now that he is so big and his arm can aim very well, you better listen to what he's got to say or else that village will say bye bye. If he cannot manipulate you with words, he'll just show you. He's a man of his word.
Idk about ymir or piek lol
I'm going to be honest, there isn't enough yandere stories for AOT that show how Titan Shifters act with their obsession in Titan form.
I. WANT. MORE. OF. THIS!!!!

hot things they do pt.2
Tumblr media
↳ back by popular demand hehe | CLICK HERE FOR PT.1
↳ levi, bertholdt, mikasa, reiner (who has me running laps), sasha
Tumblr media
— levi
• s4 has showed us that messy hair levi is superior
• but levi with wet hair??! and then he brushes it back with his fingers not to get his face too wet? hottest thing ever
• if it’s hot outside and he’s wearing a sweater, he’ll slightly tug on the fabric around the neck >>> (idk if you guys see what i mean but i rly hope you do)
• OR SOMETIMES HE LOOSENS HIS TIE WITH ONE HAND
• for some reason, levi being angry with someone on the phone sounds super hot. because he actually has to voice his annoyance, and not just roll his eyes or throw deadly stares like he usually does
• also, mr. levi ackerman doesn’t ask you out. he just takes you out
• “be ready at 7. i have plans for us” typa thing
• he also doesn’t ask if you’re cold and need his jacket, he just gives it to you without saying anything. and you better zip it all the way up or he’ll do it for you (i’m jk he’ll always do it for you)
— bertholdt
• bertie seems like a clean guy so i’ll bet you anything that his cologne smells like h e a v e n
• when you’re sitting on the floor and ask him to help you get up so he grabs your hand to pull you up on your feet, and when he does you can see the exact moment his arm muscles flex and it’s lowkey highkey super hot
• + his hands are HUGE? his fingers definitely reach the top of your head when he’s holding your face
• just his height overall tbh. the kinda guy who has to tilt his head down to look at you mmhhhhh
• he gives the best massages that’s for sureeee
• and he especially likes massaging your back because since you’re not facing him he feels confident enough to leave kisses on your shoulders
— mikasa
• when she cracks her knuckles and her neck i’m sorry but this is so hot
• mikasa wearing a suit. do i even have to elaborate???
• when she just finished her workout and she’s just walking around in her sports bra with a towel hanging around her neck
• ooh and when she smiles in between kisses :>
• in pt.1 i mentioned armin looking hot while building furniture, and i think mikasa would look hot too, but not for the same reasons
• armin would look hot being focused on the instructions, but mikasa would look hot carrying stuff that are three times heavier than her
• she also really enjoys carrying you to bed when you fall asleep on the couch, and she does it so effortlessly??
— reiner
• another member of the raspy morning voice gang, i just know it…
• lazy neck kisses in the morning can you hear me screammmm and he usually has his arm wrapped around your shoulders to keep you close
• another thing he does is pulling you in by the belt or belt loops to get a kiss
• and since we’re talking abt kisses: he likes to kiss the back of your hand like the true gentleman he is... idk how but he makes it look so sexy
• REINER GETTING OUT OF A POOL?? I MEAN PUSHING HIMSELF OUT OF THE WATER? *aggressively fanning myself*
• when he’s focused on something and he unconsciously starts to stroke his stubble…. and it happens to look like… yk… like he’s stroking his neck a lil bit… yeah i’m gonna stop here.
— sasha
• when she helps you clasp a necklace and she lets her finger slightly brush against your skin :o it’s an out-of-body experience every single time
• you guys have many inside jokes together so she often winks at you, and when she does she always has a sort of mischievous half-smirk on her lips and ugh she’s just too hot
• !!when!!she!!rolls!!up!!her!!sleeves!!before!!cooking!!
• sasha applying chapstick is a power move as well
• i mean, she always asks you which flavor is your favorite so OBVIOUSLY YOU FEEL FLUSTERED
• when she kisses you so passionately that you have to lean back a little bit, but she always rests a hand on your lower back to keep you steady!!
• loves loves loves to rest her head between your thighs when you’re cuddling, and that’s another moment when she brushes her fingers against your skin, or the hem of your pants (and it makes your entire body shiver omg)

ok i saw the post u reblogged please tell me more abt bbc merlin im going insane here. like i study arthurian tropes and this show is out of LEFT FIELD... i know like five things. merlins a rockin twink, magic is illegal, dragons exist?? , gay???????? like so does merlin become arthurs sidekick/magic guardian angel protector/enemy/friend and then arthur fuckin dies via mordred (i assume they cut the incest plot? i hope??) and merlin just has to like.. wait... 1500 years... for him to like.. come back..?????? does he just Sit at the Lake. pls tell me im mistaken
its been a while since i last watched it but yeah basically an inexplicably english colin morgan shows up in camelot and is told Dont Cause Trouble and then saves arthurs life and is assigned as his manservant or something and also he finds a dragon voiced by john hurt locked in the basement and they have five seasons of mild gaying at each other around i think s3 merlin gets a potion that turns him into an old man and he starts doing magic shit out in the open as a wizard called Dragoon the Great who is basically their excuse to have him look like normal merlin. morgana is weird she's just kinda part of the court for Reasons that arent explained until her magic half sister shows up and is like hey you actually have a really convoluted backstory and basically ur arthurs half sister iirc which makes them flirting in the early episodes kinda weird but idk how much they planned out in advance. also morgana's developing powers in the early seasons is a big gay metaphor kinda sometimes but then they contradict that a bunch every so often. uhhhh what else. mordred is a little magic child who merlin helps smuggle out of the city i think ??? at one point. then he comes back in s4/5 i think ? and joins the knights of the round table i think they get a round table eventually anyway. then for Plot Reasons (because hes also secretly magic i think maybe i cant remember) he turns evil and goes to morgana and theres a big dramatic moment where he reveals that the old wizard she keeps fighting is actually merlin and morganas like woah and we the audience are like yeah he looks like merlin with a fake beard. shocking. also anthony head is there as the racist dad but then we're meant to feel sad when he dies for some reason. then again it is anthony head so i was sad that there wouldnt be any more anthony head. theres many plots of episods in the early show thats just "uther experiences consequences for that genocide he did". anyway at the end of the show theres a big battle and mordred stabs arthur and the last episode iirc is arthur and merlin going through the woods and talking as arthur slowly dies meanwhile gwaine and the other knights all probably die i cant really remember but im pretty sure gwaine dies needlessly anyway then arthur finally dies and john hurt dragon (who got freed and was evil in s2 and then still just showed up to give bad advice to merlin every so often through the rest of the show. his advice was usually murder.) gives a speech about how magic is dying SMASH CUT to a truck driving past its the present day and merlin is still chillin and he looks at the lake that he put arthurs body in. credits. also in like s4 theres that weird arc where lancelot gets resurrected as a zombie by morgana and theres mind control nonsense where gwen cheats on arthur with him or something and she maybe gets like banished for a bit ??? also the lady of the lake is merlins girlfriend who was a werewolf thing who then dies and her spirit exists in the pixie lake and then also just in all the water ? its weird. also something about merlin being the incarnation of all magic im pretty sure AND hes the last person who can control dragons by shouting really loud. what else oh yeah theres an episod where anthony head marries a troll

Not much is said about how Jonathan Byers is a teenage boy in the 80s who embodies his mother a lot more than he embodies his father/any male mentor figure. I think Jonathan literally learned how to build relationships from Joyce and it's both led to good and bad things for him. Clearly there's very big communication issues because in s1 he tells Joyce "this is not a time for you to shut down". I imagine she did shut down when he was a kid. I think Winona has mentioned how Joyce relied on Jonathan too much in s1 and it's clear that those shut downs led to Jonathan often probably very young. I know the writers say in s1 that Will is 13 and Jonathan is 16 but ngl when I first watched I saw the kids as 8/9 years old. And I'm sure other people did too. So I imagine Jonathan from a very young age, with Lonnie either gone or unsupportive and Joyce emotionally unavailable had to learn how to pick up the pieces, get Will to school on time, get something ready for food. Probably also put him to bed, entertain him, etc. Something I don't think Jonathan realizes he probably gets the caring side from Joyce too, Joyce wasn't totally neglectful of Jonathan either. I imagine as a young kid she also cared for him and took care of him when Lonnie shit got too heated. And I think when you're a young kid, you have that feeling of someone caring for you and making you feel happy, and loved. Especially in an abusive environment you never want that feeling to go away. So I think that's where Jonathan learned how to care for Will from. I think he always just wanted Will to be happy and feel loved like he wanted to when no one was there for him. Castle Byers and the Lonnie scene come to mind. You see Jonathan picking up the pieces and caring for Will. But something you notice is how Joyce says "I don't know what's going on with you at all" in season 1. And note Jonathan's own communication problems with Nancy and Will. I don't think Jonathan ever learned how to just listen, and how to comfort or how to express things clearly. Like yes he loves Nancy, he loves Will and Joyce. But he's never had to express it in words before. He's never had to talk about his feelings before, or listen to others. He never learned what that's like. That's why in s3 he doesn't listen to Nancy, though ig the messaging is kinda muddled there because Jonathan also has very valid reasons. But I always found it weird that Jonathan focused on the money, because it's not like an internship pays him huge money. And I'm sure there's jobs at the mall for him. I always thought the stuff about finances was just the way he was expressing it. Because what actually happened to him was that he got a job he loves doing. I mean working minimum wage sucks total ass. Getting a job to shoot pictures all day? That will look great on the resume? Hell yeah. And losing all that probably hurt him a lot. Brings me to s4 and how Jonathan can't really talk to Will. I imagine Jonathan has some inclination as to what Will's problems are but he just doesn't know how to listen. And with Nancy he doesn't know how to express himself. Something I'd like them to acknowledge on screen is that Jonathan's problems are valid. They sort of make him sound stupid for having feelings. And Idk I just don't think that's the way to handle it, he's valid for having his feelings, maybe theyre not good for him in the long term. But I don't want Nancy to just dismiss them something along the lines of "Are you just planning on doing this your whole life". I want her to actually just acknowledge he has valid feelings, and help him work past them or reassure him. If Nancy does get upset I don't want the narrative to just treat her as right. I think like after seeing your brother "die",come back, be possessed, you'd also not want to just leave him.

I also have very strong, rant-worthy feelings about Mary (largely for personal reasons, shesquite triggering for me) and how she did/didn't fit in. (Also been a while since I watched those seasons, so I'm fuzzy.) I *do* think Mary finally begins to come around towards the end of her (second) life and probably could have had a much better relationship with them had they had more time (but this is the sad boy show, so of course the second hope rises, it gets squashed, a la Cas/Miracle take one/etc).
But however much Mary's characterization upsets me, i think it's important to remember that we never got to see a Mary pre-John (and thus, pre-divine influence). A cupid told Sam and Dean that they initially "couldn't stand each other" until a cupid intervened since they had a destiny to birth Sam and Dean. Not to make this a crossover episode, but young Mary (and even the Mary in the Winchesters spin-off) give me Katniss vibes- she's not dumb, and she knew the risks of having a "normal" life. Even if she wanted it, would she have wanted children knowing she'd racked up a list of monsters that might come out of the woodwork to target them down the line? Dean is often paralleled with Mary, and he is *constantly* hesitating about whether or not having a family is possible even if he did attempt to leave the life - we can't forget Mary was also traumtically orphaned by supernatural violence and if she's constantly paralleled with Dean, she may have had similar hesitations, so why did she go through with having children, knowing that Azazel's 10-year warning wasn't up yet, at the very least, she knew he was coming for her (and more specifically, wasn't planning on killing/targeting her, so she knew he would be coming for something else). Idk, it makes me question whether Mary truly had the agency over her own will to even have children, or was it heaven's influence that pushed her towards that purpose? We won't ever have an answer bc we never saw Mary (in this universe) before she "fell in love" with John.
I like to consider her second coming an awakening of sorts - she wasn't supposed to be alive anymore and had served her purpose, so maybe whatever hold heaven had over her died when she burned on the ceiling. Both her and her sons had to deal with the fallout of her finding her own agency under the circumstances (bc they put a lot of expectation on her as well - which i think is fair even as an adult child to ask of a parent within reason, and childhood wounds are weird and full of magical thinking, i don't blame them for struggling to let go of the childlike ideals they may have held towards her). She clearly needed time, and she made some fucked up choices behind their backs that she knew would damage their trust though, even if her heart was in the right place, so I have a hard time forgiving her, but then, all of TFW have done that to each other at some point so it's not like it's that much worse and I think Dean eventually recognizes hes treating her too harshly as compared to the rest of the family. I do think she's initially held to a higher expectation bc she's the mother, but i think that's what made Sam and especially Dean really struggle with her not being the person they expected her to be - flawed, sometimes hurtful, couldn't even cook! A completely different person from who Dean, at least, thought she was - even though it's nothing new, he'd had no idea she was even a hunter until s4.
I really do like where their arc was going though, bc she was just starting to find where she could fit in the family and dean was finally learning how to make room for the real Mary (esp since he was also learning to make room for his own real self, which, surprise surprise, was independent of Mary's actual influence - he thought she was a good cook and ran with that, becoming a great cook himself and turns out he didnt inherit that, that was all him, again, why i really like having the actual imperfect Mary around for him to identify his own value distinct from his parents who he always felt he got everything from, that nothing he did would be possible without their influence).
I agree, the pearl episode was weird, i chalk it up to weird djinn-like rules and maybe dean (edit: bc it's *crucial* to keep in mind that the pearl is responding to what *dean* wants/needs, whether he is *aware* of what exactly it is he wants/needs) particularly wanting the opportunity to have one night with his family of origin just to get the closure he needed to fully move on and be even more invested in his found family going forward. Maybe he didnt necessarily want John back, but maybe what he really wanted was the ability to *finally* absolve himself of whatever familial duty he felt towards honoring their memory so he could stop feeling so haunted by it (edit: bc let'sbe real, he doesnt need closure with bobby or ellen or jody in that way, none of them haunt him the way his family of origin does, the greater "need" exists in addressing the relationship/role he has with his family of origin - he doesn'teven use the time to focus to greatly on the harm done, they clearly focus on having a good time and dean is satisfied that they were capable of being a family at least once, that they werent a lost cause, and even if they only had one day, they could come together to make it count, and they really did come together to fulfill deans wish with the only opportunity they had - they pulled a lot of shit, but dean will always have this memory that they loved him enough to take his lead and not squander this opportunity). I dont remember much about the episode itself, i could be off-base, but that was more or less my takeaway.
The Winchester Family: A Rant
Can I just say that Sheriff Jody Mills was more of a mother to Sam and Dean Winchester more than Mary ever was, even after Amara brought her back. Like I guess no hate to Mary...? But like isn't the whole thing about the Winchesters is that family isn't just blood. They developed wayy closer bonds than the ones with Mary, and I know it isn't necessarily her fault, but she wasn't there. Like I dunno, I just wasn't in love with Mary coming back, especially since when she did come back, it seemed like she saw they were grown up and like, didn't care..? Like it felt like she went "oh my job is done these are just two grown dudes that I gave birth to once." Like I know its a weird situation, but as a person who grew up watching Once Upon a Time, where like almost the same thing happened, with Snow, David, and Emma, I can't help but compare their reactions and Mary just didn't stack up.
Snow and David were so ecstatic to see Emma and tried so hard to make up for lost time and parent her as much as they could. They kept trying even as Emma pushed them away saying she was grown and that her and her parents were technically the same age. Throughout the show they found a way to still be her parents while still acknowledging she was grown. It was really beautiful to see, but in comparison Mary did not stack up.
Yes, she is a badass, and, yes, her identity should not solely surround her being the boys' mother, but that doesn't mean she shouldn't be a mother at all. It would've been nice to see her figure out a way to strike the balance the Snow and David did, and I never got that vibe. In Supernatural, it seemed the opposite. It was Dean and Sam trying to be her sons and she pushed them away for the same reasons. I'm not saying she was a bad person, or even a bad mother, as it was a really weird situation and I can't necessarily blame her for how she dealt with it. What I AM saying, though, is that her name had no right to be carved onto that table. Point. Blank. Period.
Also, by the way, since I'm complaining, that weird episode with the pearl thing that let John Winchester come back so they could have a family dinner?????? As if that could truly be what Dean desired. Are you fucking kidding me. John sucked, made them both feel like shit, abused them, and yet that was the "family dinner" we got. It's been a while since I watched the show, so Idk a timeline, but screw the timeline for a sec. Across the entire show, a true family dinner would be Dean and Cas with their son Jack, Sam as the Uncle with Eileen, Bobby and Jody as the Dean and Sam's parents (because, unlike Mary, I very much feel like Jody struck that balance even though they weren't her actual sons) and Jody's brigade of wayward sisters trailing behind her, Donna as like the step-mother or aunt (Idk how Donna fits, I just LOVE Donna), and Charlie as Sam and Dean's little sister. Jo, Ellen, and Ash pop in with Rufus as those family members that are close, but you can't quite pinpoint how exactly you're related to them. Bonus: Kevin and Linda Tran come over like friendly neighbors because, even though they have a family of their own, the Trans are definitely close to the Winchesters, though, whether they like it or not. As much as I'd like to add Adam (to make up for him being left in the pit), I have a feeling he wouldn't want to. He seemed like a guy who refused to subscribe to the idea that because they were blood, they were family. (Maybe Sam and Dean should've learned a thing or two).
TL;DR:
Sam and Dean had a much bigger, and better, family then just John and Mary, but it was never really acknowledged fully and in the best way.

ur tags on the tomshiv post are so true i think to some extent ppl are exaggerating toms power in this marriage post s3 finale and im not sure why.....like shiv hasnt thrown him under the bus on this scale but she did rat him out to gil (or she planned to????? i dont remember lol) knowing full well he might go to jail and treated him v badly during the relationship. idk tom definitely sucks and nothing in this show is 100% justified but i would say his decision to throw her under the bus was like. a solid 85%
exactly exactly and i think its common among some people (not that i see it very often because i looove curating my online experience but) to unironically a little bit believe in the "god forbid women do anything" mindset and when i see them saying toms behavior towards shiv was misogynistic it strikes me as so. hrrmmm. okay let me organize my thots
so like shiv undeniably experiences sexism from her father and her brothers. she is manipulated and spoken down to BECAUSE she is a woman. additionally, logan and kendall and roman have inherent power over shiv because while they belong to the same socioeconomic class, the men have a degree of influence and status within that class that shiv does not due to being a woman. that's not to say they will always have more success than her, just that she will always have to overcome the disadvantage her gender puts her at
the dynamic she has with tom however is a power struggle where she is trying to assert dominance over tom & tom is constantly trying to catch up, just to get them on equal footing. tom does not have the same power over shiv that the other men in her life do, because unlike the other three, tom is not an inherent member of her class. obviously he's in the upper crust, but there's not the same guarantee (yet) of him always being in the top 0.01%, because initially his connection to that class is through shiv. until he establishes himself as an independently powerful figure (which we may be well on our way towards in s4), his status will remain "shiv roy's husband" (you could argue that his place at ATN makes him independently powerful on paper but we still see him acting on shiv's instructions here)
despite all that, its true that tom still does have the advantage of being a man, and we've seen that advantage played out for him several times during scenes where the roy men are gathered & tom is among them while shiv is not, which does show that he is being welcomed into that world & will not have a difficult time assimilating into it, which is an ease that he has because he is a man. but i will maintain that that does not put him at a higher place power-wise than shiv yet because like i said, he is yet to solidify himself in that world independent of shiv
OKAY SO ALL THAT SAID-- ultimately my point is that tom's move wasnt some out of this world never-before-seen backstabbing, it was a natural escalation of the back and forth power struggle between shiv and tom, a struggle which i believe shiv initiated
(this could be its own post in and of itself but the short of it is that a lot of their "power struggle" moments could have been avoided if shiv had just given tom a heads up about her intentions & they had an honest conversation about what they both want out of the relationship, what they expect from each other, etc.; tom's focus on wanting to please logan doesnt strike me as a one sided 'him prioritizing logan over shiv' thing because its also in shiv's best interest to have her husband be in the good graces of her father?? like i believe that as far as tom knew they really truly were on the same page about him being ceo & shiv advancing her poltical career bc if they had followed through on that they would have had such a strong alliance and would have been in a very advantageous position to grant each other favors and such. and maybe that's not how shiv was interpretting his focus on logan but again that's a communication issue babey!!)
but instead she keeps tom one step behind her while she plots out her next moves & he's operating based on the last thing she told him, and then she makes a big reveal out of actually being One Step Further & tom is left to scramble to catch up. SO in the normal world no it wouldn't be justified cuz like holding grudges unhealthy blah blah, but in a show where toxic pettiness is the norm i think it was totally a reasonable move

The Ultimate Relationship Meme
Laszlo & Nadja
Disagreements:
Sex:
Who is more likely to raise their voice?: Nadja. Neither of them are prone to shouting matches but Nadja is just...loud. She’s a loud gal with a loud voice and loud thoughts and sometimes all three of those things combine into a VERY loud (deafening) voice.
Who threatens to leave but never actually does?: These two can’t breath without each other. Do you really think they’re gonna go around making flippant threats like that?
Who actually keeps their word and leaves?: Laszlo, but he won’t actually say “I’m leaving” he’ll just separate himself from the situation if he’s truly been offended.
Who trashes the house?: They both trash the house with make-up sex. Does that count?
Do either of them get physical?: Nadja is a fiery Greek woman who will absolutely slap Laszlo into the next century if she thinks he deserves it but nothing beyond that (unless it’s consensual)
How often do they argue/disagree?: They bicker constantly because they’re very different people but it’s not true arguing. They rarely have a full blown argument. Laszlo knows that Nadja is not someone you can argue with and come out a winner. Happy wife = Happy life.
Who is the first to apologise?: Laszlo.
Family:
Who is on top? Either. Just depends on their partners mood.
Who is on the bottom? See above.
Who has the strangest desires? They’re both freaks.
Any kinks? All of them (except coprophilia)
Is head ever in the equation? Always.
If so, who is better at performing it? Nadja. Laszlo because he literally won’t let me write anything else. How dare you suggest he isn’t a master of oral (even though he once went 200 years without eating his wife out).
Ever had sex in public? Of course. Who do you they are?
Who moans the most? Fuck. Idk man, probably Nadja. She’s just loud about everything.
Who leaves the most marks? Nadja because she’s a biter.
Who screams the loudest? Nadja. RIP the rest of the house.
Who is the more experienced of the two? Laszlo, despite the fact that he’s 200 years younger.
Do they ‘fuck’ or ‘make love’? They usually make love but occasionally fuck.
Is protection used? No. Because they’re dead and this isn’t Twilight.
Does it ever get boring? They’ve been together 300 years so things do grow stale on occasion but I wouldn’t call it true boredom. At least, not boredom that lasts long.
Where is the strangest place they’d have sex? A bed.
Affection:
Do your muses plan on having children/or have children? They’re vampires but they have raccoon babies and in s4 had a baby colin, if that counts. If they were mortal they may have had a kid.
If so, how many children do your muses want/have? One or two max.
Who is the favorite parent? Laszlo.
Who is the authoritative parent? Nadja.
Who lets the children indulge in sweets and junk food when the other isn’t around? Laszlo.
Who turns up to extra curricular activities to support their children? Laszlo.
Who goes to parent-teacher interviews? Guillermo and Laszlo attend them.
Who changes the diapers? Guillermo. Laszlo.
Who gets up in the middle of the night to feed the baby? They’re already up but Laszlo is probably the one feeding baby Colin sugary cereal (and then wondering why he never sleeps).
Who spends the most time with the children? Laszlo.
Who packs their lunch boxes? Neither. They just toss money at them.
Who gives their children ‘the talk’? Neither. Their kids grow up knowing what sex is and how babies are made because it would be impossible not to in this home.
Who cleans up after the kids? Guillermo
Who worries the most? Guillermo.
Who are the children more likely to learn their first swear word from? Laszlo.
Sleeping:
Who likes to cuddle? They both enjoy it but Nadja initiates it more than Laszlo. Also he’s prime cuddle material so she has all the incentive.
Who is the little spoon? Nadja more often than not but Laszlo enjoys it too. He won’t ask though. She has to surprise him.
Who gets naughty in the most inappropriate of places?  They’re both gross in public and should be forced to have their hands visible at all times. Otherwise, you may risk them having sex on your table right then and there.
Who struggles to keep their hands to themself? This one goes to Laszlo but only because he’s the king of polyamory and therefore constantly groping or getting groped by others.
How long can they cuddle until one becomes uncomfortable? Hours? Days? Weeks? Years?
Who gives the most kisses? Nadja but only because we’re counting her licking him like a cat as well.
What is their favourite non-sexual activity? Pirating, music, watching films, just walking around town. Any activity can be pleasurable if it’s spent together.
Where is their favourite place to cuddle? On the couch in front of the big TV watching reality shows like the Kardashians and Bachelors.
Who is more likely to playfully grope the other? Nadja by the slimmest margin.
How often do they get time to themselves? Bold of you to assume they want time to themselves. There’s no real time limit, I guess. They spend a lot of time “together” without necessarily sharing the activity because they enjoy each other’s company. Laszlo could be out trimming his hedges and Nadja joins him just because she can, or Nadja is hosting late at the club and Laszlo will be there with her in the background watching her be a girlboss. I don’t know if this actually answers the question. lol. They aren’t incapable of doing solo activities but it’s not as if they’re looking for time to themselves.
Work:
Who snores? Neither because vampires don’t need to breath.
If both do, who snores the loudest?
Do they share a bed or sleep separately? They sleep separately.
If they sleep together, do they cozy up together or lay far apart? If they do sleep together expect them to be one big vampire cuddle blob.
Who talks in their sleep? Nadja.
What do they wear to bed? Laszlo will wear a nightshirt and Nadja wears a nightgown.
Are either of your muses insomniacs? Laszlo will stay up later than Nadja but he’s not an insomniac necessarily. He just has a tendency to become hyper fixated on something and will focus all of his energy on that one thing indefinitely. Thus sleeping less as a result.
Can sleeping pills be found by the bedside? No.
Do they wrap their limbs around each other or just lay side by side? Laszlo tends to be on his back, acting as a pillow, although he’ll slowly wrap himself around her. Nadja is like a vine wrapping itself around a tree.
Who wakes up with bed hair? They both do but Nadja’s is much worse.
Who wakes up first? Nadja, but usually the outside rustling will wake Laszlo up.
Who prepares breakfast in bed for the other? If they were human this would probably be Nadja?? Honestly it’s hard to imagine either of them cooking. Breakfast in bed is probably just them eating each other.
What is their favourite sleeping position? They both slumber in upright coffins but in a bed Nadja in a bed is more spread out whereas Laszlo still looks like a log or corpse (still and flat on his back).
Who hogs the sheets? Laszlo because he’s chronically cold.
Can a television be found in their bedroom? Between Nadja’s knickknacks and their coffins there is literally no room for a TV in their bedroom.
Who sprawls out and takes up most of the bed? Nadja.
Who makes the bed? Neither. They both have coffins.
What time is bed time? Whenever the sun comes up.
Any routines/rituals before bed? They help each other get undressed and into their nightwear. This isn’t a sexual act (although it can easily turn into that). They can’t see themselves in mirrors so they have to help each other when it comes to dressing and undressing.
Who’s the grumpiest when they wake up? Laszlo. He’s not really “grumpy” more dazed. It takes him a few minutes to properly wake up. That said if he hasn’t gotten enough sleep he’s an absolute bear and nobody should tread on him.
Home:
Who is the busiest? Nadja
Who rakes in the highest income? Nadja
Are any of your muses unemployed? Laszlo is a stay at home fuckboy/father so I guess that counts as unemployed.
Who takes the most sick days? They’re both dead so...
Who is more likely to turn up late to work? Laszlo with a hearty, “sorry I’m late, I didn’t want to come.”
Who sucks up to their boss? They’ll both suck off their boss.
What are their jobs? Laszlo is currently the CEO of Sucking & Fucking while Nadja worked on the vampiric council and currently owns her own nightclub.
Who stresses the most? Nadja
Do your muses enjoy or despise their careers/occupations? They enjoy their chaotic lives. Whenever they get tired of their job(s) they simply move on to the next thing.
Are your muses financially stable? Colin Robinson is financially stable and he supports them because they’re both himbo’s without a sense of money.
Miscellaneous:
Who does the washing? Guillermo
Who takes out the trash? Guillermo
Who does the ironing? Guillermo
Who does the cooking? Nandor and Guillermo.
Who is more likely to burn the house down just trying? Nandor.
Who is messier? Laszlo but Nadja has the most clutter.
Who leaves their dirty clothes on the floor? Neither. I mean, they’re incompetent but they know how to use a laundry bin.
Who is the prankster around the house? Colin Robinson.
Who loses the car keys when it comes time to go somewhere? Laszlo. If by lost you mean they’ve been taken from him by the vampiric council multiple times because he’s a sketchy driver at best who breaks priceless artifacts.
Who mows the lawn? Guillermo but Laszlo maintains the hedges and other greenery.
Who answers the telephone? Guillermo.
Who does the vacuuming? Guillermo.
Who does the groceries? Guillermo.
Who takes the longest to shower? Nadja and Laszlo will use up all the hot water having steamy shower sex. Nobody in this house has had a hot shower in over a century because of these two.
Who spends the most time in the bathroom? Guillermo (protecting his dumbass vampire family from other vampires.)
Is money a problem? Not with Colin Robinson as their sugar energy vampire.
How many cars do they own? 0 because Laszlo keeps crashing them or having them confiscated.
Do they own their home or do they rent? ...Technically neither. They’re kinda just freeloading off of a friend. Although, arguably they pay Colin in life force.
Do they live near the coast or deep in the countryside? They are in the suburbs but can take public transportation (or fly) to the city.
Do they live in the city or in the country? City.
What do they do when they’re away from each other? If it’s for longer than 24 hours they fall apart. They just miss each other desperately. Nadja gets ridiculously horny and sad....honestly the same thing happens to Laszlo. They’re kinda pathetic without each other. There’s a reason they’ve been together for 300 years and up until recently hadn’t spent more than 2 weeks apart. It’s torture for them.
Where did they first meet? Outside the window of Laszlo’s apartment.
How did they first meet? Nadja scratched on his window and hypnotized him to let her in. Little did she know he was a freak and would have let her in anyway. She then fucked and sucked him until he was basically dead. On a whim, she decided to turn him into a vampire and here we are. True love.
Who spends the most money when out shopping? Laszlo. He’s distractable, doesn’t know how to budget, and always wants to buy the coolest-looking shit.
Who’s more likely to flash their assets? Nadja.
Who finds it amusing when the other trips over? Neither. They’re vampires not monsters. For real though, if either tripped they would be more worried about helping the other up and destroying whatever made them trip in the first place.
Who’s terrified of bugs? Nandor, probably.
Who kills the spiders around the house? Guillermo.
Their favourite place? Wherever the other happens to be.
Who pays the bills? Colin Robinson.
Do they have any fears for their future? Nah, they’ve literally got all the time in the world to figure their lives out. Nadja wants to work on becoming successful and more independent. Laszlo finally found fulfillment in being a father to baby Colin and now that’s over so he’ll likely seek out something to fill that void. None of these things are fears though?? LIke I said, they have all the time in the world to figure shit out.
Who’s more likely to surprise the other with a fancy dinner? Laszlo.
Who uses up all of the hot water? Laszlo is more likely to start the hot shower but Nadja knows to join him if she wants any hot water. Occasionally Nandor joins them too out of desperation. Colin and Guillermo are really the only two with consistently cold showers.
Who’s the tallest? Laszlo. I know, I was shocked too. He’s 5′10 but carries himself like he’s 5′5
Who’s more likely to just randomly hop into the shower with the other? They’ll both do this. I’d be shocked if they’ve taken separate showers since showers were invented.
Who wanders around in their underwear? Laszlo walks around in his nightshirt, does that count?
Who sings the loudest when singing along to the radio? Nadja.
What do they tease each other about? So much?? They’re very different people from different time periods. Laszlo will tease Nadja about all her superstitious beliefs, Nadja will call him an asshole and point out how her superstitions are usually right (something which he refuses to accept). Nadja will poke at him for not enjoying musicals, Laszlo will rib at her for loving the Kardashians (even though they both watch it). Like I said before, they’ll bicker and tease constantly but it’s never done with the intention of disrespect.
Who is more likely to cringe at the other’s fashion sense at times? Neither. They’re both ridiculously supportive of each other even in the most unfashionable of times. But it’s entirely possible Nadja is the reason they always match and she has just been dressing Laszlo for the past 300 years.
Do they have mutual friends? Yup. They live in a polycule with their friends/family/occasional fuck buddy(ies??) Nandor, Colin Robinson, and Guillermo. The Baron is also a mutual friend and The Sire is pretty chill now that he’s not trying to kill them.
Who crushed first? Nadja beat him by a few seconds because she spotted him through the window first.
Any alcohol or substance related problems? Nope.
Who is more likely to stumble home, drunk, at 3am?  Now that Laszlo has human friends who go to bars it happens sometimes. We also see that Nadja enjoys her blood wine a little too much sometimes so it does happen. Lol. But it’s not super common.

I really liked your aisha meta about her bonding and i was wondering what you think is her biggest weakness? And the other characters too if that's okay. Thank you:)
Oh thank you!! Hmm I had to think about this one for a second but I'll try to give you some good answers! Though to be fair, I think most of what I listed are things that have already been said aljdhgjladg
I do want to note, I think all of the major characters had room for growth and self-development especially within the first three seasons. We all know that characterization made a huge nose dive after season 4, so I'm not really going to be talking about the later seasons as they aren't super representative of their personalities (however, i will occasionally mention them for certain characters). \
Anyway, onto our beloved characters mental issues and why they should all be in therapy <3
Tumblr media
The Winx
Bloom: I think Bloom is actually a very well rounded main character! She has positives and negatives and those don't often conflate with each other (and I think most of her "too perfect" characterization comes from later seasons). Because of that, I had a hard time thinking about what her biggest weakness is because,, she has a few. However, I think something that stays very consistent throughout the series is her escapism. Bloom is a major escapist, especially when she's feeling unworthy. She has a lot on her plate! And a lot of people rely on her, which naturally can lead to some pretty heavy thoughts ("Am I doing the right thing?" "Do I deserve to be the leader?" "What if they're safer without me?"), however those feelings, when they become too much, often leave her feeling like people are truly better off without her. Then she runs off to Gardenia or she shuts people out or she takes on some dangerous mission just to get away from people. Her escapism often leaves everyone, including her, feeling shitty and it would've been nice to see her grow from that.
Stella: Hmmm, so again most of the early characterization gave the characters a couple of weaknesses so I had a hard time thinking of what Stella's biggest one would be. However, something that I've always noticed about Stella that's always made me feel bad, is her extreme I Need To Fit In Or No One Will Love Me attitude. And obviously that goes into her childhood and upbringing, but it's something that stays with her even after meeting the Winx and having all those You're Perfect The Way You Are talks with Bloom. She often changes her personality/attitude/emotions to fit what she thinks other people will like most. But that heavily goes into her insecurities of thinking people only like her because she's pretty or a princess. Stella's a smart girl and she notices how people respond to what she's doing. But when she's changing something about herself to get others to like her and they respond positively to it? That's horrible for her overall self-esteem and to her just confirms her fears that people don't love her for her true self.
Edit: I absolutely don't want to come off as if I'm saying Stella's personality is fake! Here's a further explanation for hers!
Flora: I think some people might disagree with me on this one, but I genuinely believe Flora's biggest weakness is how often she rushes into something. On one hand, it's admirable and shows how strong she is, but on the other hand, it says a lot about how she lets her emotions run her and often doesn't think things through when someone she loves is in danger or she thinks she needs to do something Right Now. Unless someone else prompts it, Flora often doesn't plan or try to think things through rationally. I don't think it's a bad thing to be in tune with your emotions, but it can become a weakness when you only ever think with your heart and what it's feeling at That Moment In Time. Instead of trying to think rationally or make a plan, Flora often just follows her heart immediately, but that can be a bad thing when her heart is hurting and she's not thinking clearly.
Aisha: It's definitely her attitude of needing to appear emotionally strong all the time. Aisha gives more of herself than she receives from others and a lot of that comes from her need to be seen as Reliable and Good. However, that often means she doesn't get the time to sit with how she's feeling or she pushes her emotions down. She doesn't want people to know that she's feeling upset because she doesn't want people to feel bad for her or use their energy to comfort her. Aisha is definitely a "other people have it worse so what happened to me doesn't matter" kind of person and that's often what hurts her the most. She doesn't let herself be vulnerable and often only does so when she truly can't handle it by herself anymore. And I think this heavily goes into her childhood and how she's had to be independent from a very young age. Aisha doesn't know how to let other people in.
Tecna: Hmmm, on one hand I'd like to say it's her internal battle with her logical side vs her emotional side,, so I'm going to. Personally, I think Tecna is a lot better at emotions than she gives herself credit for, and I think that's her biggest weakness. She doesn't give herself any credit when it's something that doesn't come naturally to her. Tecna had to work on being more emotive and reading other people's emotions correctly and by S2 she's already doing so much better than she was, but she refuses to recognize that. Tecna is so stuck in the "what if i'm too logical/not emotional enough and my friends hate me because of it" headspace that she doesn't even see the progess she has made. Honestly, Tecna being too logical/not emotional enough hasn't been a real issue for years and she doesn't even realize that. It's a little ironic actually, she's so caught up in her emotions about being too logical she can't see how far she's come.
Musa: Her trust issues. Personally, I think Musa's biggest weakness is her problem with trusting people. Because she just.. doesn't. Musa has a really hard time letting people in (for rightful reasons) but she once she does let them in, she has a hard time trusting them too. This is most obvious with her relationship with Riven, but it also comes out with the Winx! She's constantly scared that people are going to leave her or that they don't really like her or that they do like her but she's going to end up driving them away and all of that negatively impacts her relationship with others. She just,, doesn't trust people and has an even harder time trusting herself. I think if Musa had been allowed to truly work through that, she would be much happier.
The Specialists
Sky: I think Sky's biggest weakness is pretty obvious! It's that he does not know how to interact with people. I think I'm one of the few people that doesn't actually hate Sky. I hate that, just like the other characters, he had room for improvement and self-realization, which got scrapped almost instantly for Perfect Prince Sky. Sky, like most of the other royal characters, grew up pretty lonely (and his parents are abslute shit). The only other people he would ever talk to are members of his family, other royals, or people who weren't royal but were close enough to it (ie Brandon and even Diaspro depending on which canon you go by). Because of this, Sky has a really hard time interacting with people in a casual setting. He's great in royal settings and all their missions, but that's because he's allowed to and supposed to act all serious and Business Like. When it comes to talking to people in casual settings, he often fails because he doesn't understand "normal" people and he's never been allowed to just,, sort through his own feelings. It would've been amazing to Sky grow from this, because even in the first season you see hints of Sky rejecting royalty and wanting to be normal. MAN I wish Sky got proper characterization, he would've been so much better if he did.
Brandon: Oh man,, I had a really hard time with this one, because Brandon honestly doesn't have a lot of weaknesses? I think something that could be considered a weakness is that,, he's very devoted once he decides he cares about someone. Which isn't bad! But it often puts him in dangerous situations because he wants to save someone. Like anytime Sky gets into trouble, Brandon is for sure right by his side. Or if someone messes with Stella? Brandon's there. And again, this definitely isn't a Bad Thing, but it can put his own life in danger. And in their line of work it often does. However, I do think this is mostly evened out because of Brandon's ability to call for help and think of a plan. He doesn't often just jump into things unless it's absolutely necessary. He's able to think things through clearly and strategize. Sorry anon but I honestly can't think of any Big Weakness for Brandon, because most of his weaknesses are evened out by some positive. (Like, I was going to say he's a bit of a pushover but,, is he? Then I thought well maybe it's because he's ready to die for Sky,, but like. That's his job? Idk man,, any Brandon stans wanna chime in please?)
Timmy: Hmmm I, once again, had some troubles with this one. Timmy has a few weaknesses, mostly in the insecurity region, but I had a hard time figuring out what his Biggest Weakness is. After some thought, I think it's his eagerness to prove himself, specifically when he doesn't need to. I think this definitely evened out in the later seasons once he got some confidence, but in the early seasons Timmy really wanted to prove himself. He wanted to prove that he was a good specialist, a good friend, a good partner,, just,, everything. He was really set out to prove that he was capable of things. This often put him in dangerous situations that he couldn't handle or something he could handle but was too nervous to. It didn't help that in early seasons some of the other characters doubted his abilities (cough tecna cough). But again, I think this really evened out by S4 and it's not a big problem anymore.
Riven: Ugh goodness where to start.. I think Riven's biggest weakness is actually a mix of Musa's and Timmy's. Riven has a hard time trusting people, especially himself, and he's constantly trying to prove himself. He wants to be seen as reliable and Good and that's where a lot of his competition with other characters, mostly Sky, comes in. But that heavily mixes with his distrust and hatred toward himself. I think most of his Trying To Prove Himself is actually him trying to prove something to himself. He's constantly looking down on himself and that need to prove and be better than other people is a product of that. And I think that's also why he has problems with letting people in. Obviously, he has some general trust issues, with wondering if people just don't like him and what not, but a lot of it is not trusting himself and not letting people get close to him because of that. Riven's biggest weakness is that he doesn't give himself any credit for the progress he's made and is constantly doubting whether or not he's a good person. And that messes with his relationships a lot because he thinks he's not good enough to be around people and that sparks his need to to prove himself. And even when his friends do try to comfort him or say he's enough, he doubts that too. Riven has a lot of problems but most of them go into how much he hates himself.
Helia: Well, as one of the resident Helia stans, I've thought about this a lot. And I've got to say, his biggest weakness is his complete inability to talk about himself. A lot of people think Helia is really good at talking about emotions, but that's only partially true. He's good at talking about other people's emotions. When it comes to himself,,, he's a mess. Helia is consistently really bad at sharing his feelings and even just general tidbits about his life (evidenced by all the times he does/says something and the others get surprised because they never knew that,, years into their friendship). However, this often strains his relationships with people because they end up thinking he hates them or doesn't trust them or something else. While I have my own issues with the later seasons, S5 did a really good job at focusing on this in the show (when it really only ever got hinted at or shown in the comics). The whole Flora/Helia/Krystal thing was a major product of Helia never sharing anything about his own life and Flora's insecurities over if she's good enough. With the mix of being able to talk to people about their feelings, but never his own, it creates this really awkward situation of people just like,, not knowing things about him and then doubting their relationship, but then not being confident enough to express that because Helia still talks to them about their feelings so he must care about them!! .. but does he? It's this internal struggle of he's obviously a friend but why doesn't he ever share anything about himself?? This is even shown in his relationship with Saladin, a literal family member!
I'm.. gonna stop here for now ajghaljdhglj I'm sorry this got so long! And that some of them were shorter than others..

i don't know if i'm the only one but i've often wondered exactly how hard it was to convince julian mcmahon to stick around for season five. they took his character, a feared powerful half demon and made him into the butt of the joke and the whole joke was basically ha ha look at this lovestruck fool obsessing and suicidal because he's got nothing to live with but can't die. ain't that funny? like how the fuck did the writers sell that to julian is my question
i find the entirety of season five just so goddamn insulting to cole's character. hell the fact that he got possessed by the source and this was treated as him turning evil instead of a shitty situation that got out of hand. like it wasn't bad enough he was villified for something that he wasn't even in control of half the time they couldn't even just vanquish the dude, they dragged it on and ridiculed him. i hate it here
lol. i mean. yeah. i really. like. it's like. like okay we all know cole was a fan favorite right and he & phoebe were really meant to like. be the sex appeal to the show no one else was really filling that role they were charmed's Sexy Couple tm. so like. in a sense i get the notion ab wanting to keep him around. because everyone loves him! he's bad boy! he adds this dangerous edge love balancing on a knife's point stuff like that. so like. that being said. u wanna keep him around. i just like Do Not Get how you opt to keep him around Like That. tbh. as w all things. i am blaming brad kern. i think it all really started to tank s4 (well, with mortal cole, but like) with source cole. that was bad, but i know it was part of the push to have like long form season drama character driven plots conflict between the sisters themselves it just like. sucked ass and balls imo. like i mean the fact they had to do the source as a possession just so they could get demon cole and lover cole,,, i mean it speaks to how stupid it was. the fact that u wanted cole to be a villain So Bad but the only way to do it was like. possession? sign that u should not do that like. like. like. i don't know how we're supposed to feel ab that.
and then. the vanquish. not sticking. i think like. i think they probably had the vague idea that cole having a mortal soul would not be able to be vanquished properly right? like. demons get destroyed into nothingness, but the human part of him lives, so i think they probably knew that was what they were going to do, that's what they sold to jmm and like. we sowed those seeds in the s4 finale w his ghost whispers and materialization. so i think like. they knew they wanted to Not Kill Him because he was such a fan favorite. maybe there was an intention to do a will they won't they variant of phole? and then. of course. there was the whole idea of paige cole, which, as the rumor goes, was meant to kick of in the s5 pilot, but both julian and rose shut it down. but i feel like. assuming that's true (which i 100% do assume that's true absolutely and i'm not endorsing it i don't think it would have been good or well written or whatever but like. 👀. you know?) but yeah. assuming that's true, i feel like that piece really speaks to what their designs for cole were: man meat. he was meant to be their male sex appeal and they weren't going to be picky about the narrative itself as long as he was still kicking.
but like honestly? i mean i shouldn't have to say this it's a given: it's not enough to just put your sexy man in front of a camera and call it a day like imo even a man who is not sexy can be made appealing through the power of the narrative. like, to level with you, i never really ever shipped phole nor found cole attractive at all like ever, but i can see like the fucking support beams you know i can see the infrastructure on which this whole thing can you know take on a life of its own in the earlier seasons because they very consciously put it there!! people shipped it for a reason n not just because they were two people standing next to each other on a tv screen i mean hello almost sinking a dagger in her heart but can't do it sends her away back to her sisters because he can't act out on his evil plan!! that's something!!!! that's so very something and they gave us Nothing they gave us nothing in the later seasons. and still expected it to fly. like. tbh julian was probably just like unwittingly duped like dragged along for the ride s5 which is likely why he was vanquished halfway through because i'd imagine roughly three episode in he went okay! um. what's this? guys? what's this? and then they said cole<3 you know he like knew he had to get the hell outta dodge.
anyways. if i were to resuscitate phole in s5. which like. to level w u. i wouldn’t. because they would need a lot of one-on-one screentime and we already spent so much of s4 splitting up the sisterhood in the name of phole i wouldn’t really want to continue with that per se But. if i were. this ask is getting long it’s under a cut
something something demon of the week something something realms the point is cole is there when he very much shouldn’t be and like. he and phoebe get knocked into a different plane. so their bodies are fine and at the manor, but their minds are elsewhere and they need to solve whatever it is in order to get back. and we’ll say there’s a fuckin deadline because the girls need the power of three and right now they are sealed off from accessing it. and you know phoebe’s pretty fuckin pissed with cole because you know. he dragged her down to hell and she almost gave birth to the antichrist. actually source’s heir might be fun to keep around in this au idk. the point is phoebe’s pissed at cole and cole’s pissed at phoebe because phoebe’s pissed at him but he literally didn’t have control over himself in that era and he’s not getting the space he needs to justify himself because phoebe keeps stepping over him. but they gotta work together to get out of here. and were kinda doing enemies to lover 2.0 but like now they have History. of course we’ve gotta do a moment where cole has idk done something normal and phoebe’s so riled up that she does something rash and almost dies cole saves her like catches her bridal style or something faces inches apart breathing heavy and there’s a moment. like a we’re back in early s4 moment. which phoebe immediately breaks from and like walls going flying up but just for a moment there we see it it’s obvious: she’s still in love with cole. which then segues into an argument because like. cole wasn’t sure. right? he wasn’t sure if phoebe now just genuinely hated him. but now he knows right he knows better now so why are you acting like this? why are you taking every opportunity to shut me down to shut me out? why are you acting like you hate me when you know that’s not true right that whole thing to phoebe who gets the Classic because i do hate you. i hate you for what you did to me for what you did to my family and i hate you because i loved you so much and you destroyed me and i hate you because no matter how hard i try that love is still there and i know that for a second if i stop hating you i’m going to love you just like before and you can destroy me again and i hate myself because i’d let you because i love you. you know? big speech. big reveal. i have No Idea what piper and paige are up to right now. the point is. after this big confession we get the lull the cards are on the table what the fuck do we do now which is when cole Finally gets to opportunity to say he was actually possessed by the source and manipulated by the seer and the only thing that kept him holding on was his love for her and after she became queen of hell after he saw what the source had done to her he knew it had to end he doesn’t hold it against her for vanquishing him right this is where we exonerate all wrongs we’re just saying anything bad that has happened ever? scrub it. it’s the source’s fault. cole has no resentment against phoebe. he loves her a healthy, normal, non-possessive amount, so much so He Loves Her So Much he let her kill him and like honestly would probably do it again. idk and then they make out or something. and then they’re out of whatever plane they were in by the end of the episode. And Then we get a buddy cop episode with paige and cole where they bond and also sort through everything that happened there. slowly but surely. and then we do a real phole wedding a super small affair in the manor lowkey bc i hated their wedding episode it blowed we give them a good one. wallah <3
