Some Highly Recommended Kdrama

My pal @troubled-mind asked me if I had any recommendations for good kdramas to watch, and my answer to that is: literally always. I put together this short list for them and decided to share in case anyone else is interested.

Parameters for this list: modern setting, strong focus on friendship dynamics, mix of genres, avoid university settings, no one-sided romantic pursuits, and no terribly sad endings

Be Melodramatic/Melo Is My Nature (Viki)

Fantastic friendship focused drama about a group of close friends who all move in together in the wake of personal crises. A healing drama that includes a couple love lines. And an out gay side character (still extremely rare for mainstream kdrama, unfortunately). This one will make you laugh and cry.

Happiness (Viki)

Pandemic zombies attack! Now I am not really a zombie person, but I absolutely love this show. It’s about a pair of working class besties who decide to get married in order to win a housing lottery (one of them may or not be hoping this fake marriage turns real), then immediately get caught in a lockdown with all their new neighbors when there’s a zombie virus outbreak. Shenanigans ensue! This is more action thriller than horror, and the two main characters are some of my all time favs. The writing, plotting, and pacing are tight as hell and it’s a rare perfect 10 for me on that front.

Coffee Prince (Viki)

MY BELOVED. This is an absolute classic genderbend kdrama that I’ve watched several times. The show that made Gong Yoo famous. An honest to goodness queer narrative about a chaebol who meets a girl pretending to be a boy for poverty reasons, falls in love, and has a bisexual awakening. This show was way ahead of its time even if it doesn’t use our modern language (you will not hear the words trans, non-binary or bi/pansexual but trust me, they’re there). Also features a fun friend group who all work together at the coffee shop. I try to make everyone watch this one, and recently got @bengiyo and @kyr-kun-chan to watch and validate my read of the story, and they enjoyed it a lot despite the messy hets. Be warned though that this drama is old old, so you’ll need to adjust to the visuals.

Fight for My Way (Viki)

My all time favorite friends to lovers drama, this is a coming of age tale of two best friends and their long journey to getting on the same page about romance. Their dynamic is fantastic and the story is mostly set in their early adulthood as they try to establish themselves in careers and make sense of their bond as adults. Also features their close friends who form a fun little group with them. And Park Seo Joon, a god among drama actors.

Hospital Playlist (Netflix)

If you want excellent friendship dynamics, look no further. This show is all about a group of five friends who met in college and have stuck together for over two decades and all of life’s ups and downs. The story begins when they find themselves all working in the same hospital for the first time since med school and decide to restart their old band. Yes, there will be singing, and no, you don’t have to cover your ears - the cast is stacked with South Korea’s best musical theater talent. This drama is slice of life and takes us through a couple years with them as they reforge their bonds and each deal with their own family baggage and love lives.

Misaeng (Netflix)

My all time favorite workplace drama that has the unique distinction of being the only show to ever make me literally burst into happy tears. No romance in this one. Story centers on a former baduk prodigy (think if Reply 1988 Taek stalled out instead of becoming a master) who attempts to enter the workforce with no discernible skills. He bumbles and fumbles and alternately competes with and bonds with his fellow interns, and forms a deep and lasting relationship with his mentor. When I tell you this show is a master class in writing to create emotional stakes, phew! How else can you explain me getting deep in my feelings over the success or failure of an import/export company?

My Mister (Netflix or Viki)

This one is a bit darker, as it deals with themes of intergenerational trauma, abuse, poverty, depression, and general ennui. Not a romance, this drama focuses on the strange and unexpected bond that forms between a middle aged man and a younger woman working on his team. They meet at an important inflection point in both their lives and forge a friendship that changes them both. Really moving and utterly beautiful, with an ending that will make you feel happy to be alive.

Extraordinary You (Viki)

Time for a change up! This is a fantasy show in which the main character becomes self aware and realizes she is a side character in a manwha. Technically set in a school (inside the manwha) but not actually about that. She bonds with another side character who is self aware, and the two of them start working to change the story so that they can break free (and fall in love while doing it, naturally). The concept of this one is just so cool and they do a lot of interesting things with it, plus the visuals are stunning.

The Uncanny Counter (Netflix)

Because I know you liked Oh No! Here Comes Trouble, I’m adding this one about a kid who discovers he has superpowers and teams up with a little found family of grim reapers to fight evil. The family unit is great and there’s lots of good stuff in their various relationships with each other. This one is a lot of fun but also touches on the characters’ sad backstories and family lives.

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo (Viki)

You said to avoid university settings but I’m adding this one in case you want to give a classic college romance a try. My fav in that category, it’s a sports romance between a weightlifter and a swimmer who used to be childhood friends and reconnect in college while they’re struggling with performance issues, body image, and romance. It’s a friends to lovers slow burn and they are utterly adorable.

CayCantEven is just a social handle that rolls off the tongue, and it's stuck so long I feel weird not using it lol. CayCantDraw is my freelance handle for all business exchanges. It's a fun play on words with an ironic twist to my skills as an artist.

What do you use for drawing?

I use ClipStudio Paint EX, and the tablet I use is a Huion Kamvas 20. I also have an iPad with Procreate for working on the go. I always have a sketchbook with me though despite being primarily a digital artist. 

Do you take art/writing requests?

No, I don’t take requests. There are rare occasions where I may offer a poll for something an audience may want to see as a warmup or for fun, but primarily I do not accept requests via ask box or DMS. I appreciate the support via Kofi if you’d like to see something specific!

Do you take roleplay requests?

I don’t offer or take roleplay requests. I will only offer that, if ever, to close mutuals or friends who share that interest.

This is the music that kept me awake and sane in Diadem, haha xD Seriously, their songs has both so incredibly aggresively positive vibe and are great pieces of music. +the videos are hilarious- without a fail those makes me smile wide or even laugh every time.

2: Samudrartha, from Honkai: Star Rail ost

Star Rail's ost is generally amazing, there's many songs in this game that I love. This one played in one of the epic moments in story and is tied to a character I especially adore. And that vocal is incredible!!!

3: AURORA "The Seed"

I always, ALWAYS return to her music- it's magical, ethereal and yet so powerful. She has one of the greatest voices ever and her songs are incredibly poetic and alluring. Also her choreography, the alluring movements, visuals- all this adds to this magic. I love each and every songs of AURORA but this one is also special for the powerful message it has. "Suffocate me So my tears can be rain I will water the ground where I stand So the flowers can grow back again" ^ this. this is pure poetry and it hits so damn hard.

4: Hurts "Illuminated"

And sometimes you just need a vibe like this~ It's also a song that I tend to link to some of plots I share with RP partner.

Another powerful song. One of the very rare things that are good about Eurovision (screw this circus otherwise)- more people get to know such diamonds. You should as well.

You two are so similar in a lot of ways, and even in the ways you differ I feel like they’d just make you match better together! Headcanons About Your Relationship:

- Bokuto absolutely love love loves that you enjoy cheerleading! Even if you’re not an official cheerleader for his team, he enjoys seeing you cheer for him in the stands and always looks for you to see your reactions when he does something particularly cool, and when he gets in slumps during games he now looks to you in the audience for a cheer as a pick-me-up rather than forcing Akaashi to give him another pep talk lol

- I can totally see Bokuto being the type of boyfriend to regularly bring food with him whenever the two of you hang out over at your house. He’s pretty much always hungry and knows what you like, so he frequently picks up some chicken sandwiches from your favorite restaurant and two slices of cheesecake from a local bakery on his way! It’s sort of become a ritual for the two of you after his games, and it always manages to lift his mood whether he’s won or lost :)

- Bokuto knows how much he loves having you come see his games, it means a lot to him to see you there and knowing you took the time out of your day to be supportive always warms his heart before a match. So in return, he always makes sure to attend all your choir concerts and your theater performances, no matter how he has to rearrange his schedule to do so <3 He wants to make sure you always feel supported and loved by him, and that you know that he’s just as committed to you as you are to him!

- And because you’re in choir, he also really loves hearing you sing :) Whenever he catches you singing when you’re over at his house or vice versa he’s quick to run into the room with a big grin and joins you (no matter how off-key he is lol he just wants to share the moment with you). And, on those rare days when he’s truly feeling down and having a hard time, he likes to lay his head in your lap and have you sing to him until he eventually drifts off for a nap :>

- I also think Bokuto would be a complete sucker for your curly hair, he just thinks it’s so so pretty! He loves watching you style it or do your hair-care if you have a specific routine and does his best to learn how when he does watch, so if you ever ask him to help he does his absolute best! He just loves getting to help you however he can, and he always thinks you look so pretty at the end <3

- He really really likes your signature scents as well, they both smell so nice to him and always remind him of you :> If he ever has a game away from school that you can’t join him for (after getting all pouty and whining about how much he’ll miss you lol) he always borrows one of your perfumes and spays it on his favorite jacket, because smelling the scent manages to comfort him and make it feel like you’re still there with him in some way. He sees it as a good luck charm <3

- I don’t really see Bokuto as a big reader, he doesn’t hate it or anything but it’s just never really caught his attention and he’s so busy that he just doesn’t often have time to pick up a book and relax. When you two start spending the night together more often, though, sometimes if there’s a book you’re really into he’ll let you read it aloud to him before bed and gets invested into the plot with you, or if you ask him to read a specific book, he does his best to (slowly) listen to the audiobook in his free time!

- Honestly I could see Bokuto being really into k-pop as well! He loves either bright bubblegum concepts or super aggressive, energetic ones (I can see him loving a lot of “noise music” songs, as someone who loves that kind of music myself lol) and whether or not he can dance, sometimes he tries practicing some of the choreography as a work-out if he doesn’t feel up to going to the gym some days! He’s also the perfect concert buddy, he gets so excited and loves singing along and doing all the fanchants alongside you!

- Bokuto very much has the same extroverted, bubbly/energetic and sometimes chaotic vibes that you do once you’re comfortable with someone, so the two of you match each other’s energy really well :D You’re the first person he goes to when he’s excited about something because he knows you’ll be just as giddy and excited as he is, and he just feels so happy and hyped up whenever he’s around you because you manage to return that same energy and excitement back to him!

- Though he’s a total sweetheart, Bokuto also doesn’t tolerate rude or disrespectful people in any form. Whether they’re targeting you directly or just making you uncomfortable and you don’t want to say anything, he’s quick to step in and tell them to get lost because he doesn’t like seeing you so overwhelmed or stressed out! He always wants you to feel at ease with him, and he’ll happily get rid of any disturbances in order to ensure that you do :D

Second Choice:

I also strongly considered Nishinoya when deciding your match-up, and I considered Akaashi as well! Noya gives me similar vibes to Bokuto in a lot of ways, and I could also see the two of you meshing really well together! For Akaashi he’s more subdued then the other two, but he’s incredibly supportive and may be a bit more of a balance for your extroversion, especially since he’s already best friends with Bokuto lol, but in the end I felt Bokuto just fit the best with your personality and interests :)

I always keep to myself and refrain from ever speaking out, always observing, and just listening; but when i get closer to someone and get to know them more i usually get loud and very talkative. Hobbies or things i generally like/ like to do is art!! (Fav being tolkien books, both LoTR and TH) i also write my own stories and could be so into world building, its taking me 3 years to actually build my world properly. No but speaking of “i don’t like getting into things that are popular because if i genuinely like it i end up disliking everyone involved in liking it and it’s really annoying”, little storytime that somehow illustrated exactly what i mean.

The game i’m currently playing is mad popular. Like, one of the most popular game that exist. (if you guess what it is/know from seeing me on discord, do not share it there please, for reasons that i’ll explain, it’d get me mad. If i end up rambling about it one day you might)

And ever since this game came out i heard two things about it: it’s a good game, and “the writing is absolutely garbage and all the characters end up being made dirty and actually this is such a horrible game but you gotta play it anyway”

and i can’t stress enough: in what way do you think anyone would like to play a game while the only thing you hear about it is how bad it is?

for years i genuinely didn’t want to touch this game because all the negativity i saw about it got to me. I was seeing essays over essays over what this game had failed to do, and i genuinely spited the game thinking there was nothing salvageable about it and ended up mad seeing it online.

Until my best friend started to play the game, got really into it, and streamed a bit of it to me, and i genuinely started to love it. 

I got super invested in the characters, and everything else about the game that no one talked about genuinely got to me. I love the gameplay, i love the music, i love the experience. 

After two streaming sessions, we gave up the idea of streaming, i bought the game, and while originally i didn’t want to talk about it because i didn’t know how much i’d end up enjoying it, i’m currently about 50 hours into the game and i’ve been playing almost everyday for at least 8 hours.

There’s flaws in the writing already that i’m noticing, linked also to flaws i saw brought up before, but as it is, it’s nothing that i’m genuinely finding myself to completely hate yet. So it is a bit unnerving to know a flaw i am willing to let it flow me by as an audience was blown up of proportion so much that i didn’t even want to touch this game.

But the most aggravating to me was when i was playing peacefully, geeking to my bestie about it, that i got a message on discord from a long time friend (who is not on tumblr, it’s a twitter friend) i haven’t talked with in a long while, who saw i was playing it and immediately went

“omg i love this game! please tell me all of your thoughts about it! also watch out for my fav omg the writing is SO BAD around him he was made SO DIRTY i hATE that the game did that to him” I was a bit baffled and i just told them “hey i’m just starting the game, i don’t want to hear this type of stuff yet, i can get my own opinion of it” and they went “NO BUT YOU DONT GET IT THE WRITING IS GENUINELY SHIT” and i had to be even more firm about how, hey, don’t fucking do that, and my friend eventually apologized and left me alone.

But i’ve been genuinely in full unrest ever since. Like. The whole reason i didn’t want to play this game was this type of behavior. How do you end up believing anyone would want to play a game when you talk about it to them like that?

I was playing it and i was being so excited about it. Genuinely happy.

I’m so depressed, that the fact i have something that makes me want to wake up early in the morning, vibrating, just to play it, that also helps me not look at socmed most of the day, that i end up vibing with and being able to share with my best friend, is honestly so great. It’s so rare. I genuinely feel so dead inside and am desperately trying to revive a bit of the feelings i used to feel with nostalgia, and when a good game manage to come its way and motivate me to at least live a little, i take it! i don’t care if it sucks, i take it! 

Only to have people seeing me play and being? Like THAT? in my DMs?

Like ngl but this sort of “i love something but DISCLAIMER: it sucks” pseudo self awareness from online circle is a plague. You can discuss the flaws without centering your whole opinion on something about how much the thing sucks for it. 

There is so much to love in flawed things, because generally when it takes a bad swing, the sudden gap to a good thing feels like a rush. I tend to value flawed media much more than anything people consider flawless.

But the more a media is popular the more people have Takes that they force on me, and this takes the fucking cake.

This whole incident makes me want to never, ever talk about this game on main. I’ll talk about it to my bestie, and a few other friends i trust and love who has been much better about it (N* if you see this post since you often see my rambles, you’re a delight anytime and you count into the friends i trust and love here, just in case) but that’s it.

Will the flaws prove themselves to get worse toward the end in a way that will stain my enjoyment? probably! but i want to discover it by myself. 

But i’m genuinely not recovering from it, liking popular thing is a nightmare because like, when something is mainstream there’s so many people who will talk about it; Someone will have a problem with this aspect of the story while loving the rest, someone else will have a problem with another aspect and loving the rest.... but as current socmed’s circles are built over people having to PROVE they’re aware that the thing they like is bad, each people are going to talk about the flaw more. And for each people who only have say, one flaw about it, they’ll only talk about it until only the flaws remain. You’ll get locked in an echo chamber of misery that is stripping away your own ability to make judgement based on your own gut feelings and appreciation. 

And people will just shun you and the thing you like. 

That’s fucking depressing. 

and ofc disclaimer there are important flaws to discuss like, especially when something’s problem is rooted in bigotry and the likes.  But this is not what i’m talking about so please don’t derail <3

Genuinely i’m still feeling insane about all of this i’m never talking about anything popular i like ever again. You only get the niche stuff because it’s the only place people behave because they’re not constantly performing about how “i’m the one who intellectually interreact with this media by only pointing out the flaws”, when it’s too niche it’s just “listen no one knows about it let me just talk about how it’s unfair this thing that makes me happy is unknown”. And that’s the way i want to live. A bit of positivity in this damn world damnit if i wanted to hear negativity i’d turn on the news. or read twitter. Even worse.

So yeah, i’ve been avoiding getting into anything too popular and if you need a reason why, this whole incident somehow managed to bring to light why i’m feeling so strongly about it.  Not getting into anything popular and if i do, it’s stealthly because i don’t trust anyone.  A shame really.

Author’s note: I really like this request especially since the fourth movie is one of my favs, so thank you for requesting it! Just like George's one shot, this will be heavily inspired by the movie (I'm essentially putting the reader into the movie). Before proceeding, I highly recommend rewatching these scenes lol!

Gryffindor practice for the Yule Ball

Fred asks Angelina to the ball (obviously we're pretending it's George who asks her <3)

It was fairly rare to have the Gryffindors sit together in a room mastered by the head teacher. Nevertheless, the entirety of Gordic Gryffindor's current house members has gathered in the spacious room, a million things running through their minds.

McGonagall looked fierce as she appropriated the room like something very serious was going to happen.

Your thoughts seemed to be correct as she whisked her wand in the air, pulling you away from your boyfriend to stand on a completely different side of the room.

You frowned, Fred did too. He was just about to swoop in and kiss you.

"D-did she just?" You asked puzzledly, not quite believing your luck. A couple from seventh year were eating each other's faces in the corner, but she picked you and Fred instead?!

"Yeah," Hermione mused, placing a comforting hand on your shoulder. "I think she did."

Fiercely blushing, you sat back down. "I cannot believe my luck."

"What do you mean?" Hermione asked. She herself has been appointed to stand with the girls on the other side, leaving her two best friends to themselves and the boys.

"This is the sixth time she has caught us," you told her, catching Minerva's eyes in that exact moment. You wouldn't be surprised if the woman heard you; she is a cat most of the time, and cats have significantly better hearing than humans do.

"The Yule ball has been a tradition of the-" Professor McGonagall attempted although her words were cut by Flinch as he plotted around the huge record player. "-Triwizard Tournament since its inception."

She shared nothing new.

So, what is she on about?

You glanced at your boyfriend, knowing which one out of the two he is immediately. Fred laughed with his twin about Merlin knows what, picking at Ron in the process. You shook your head, focusing your attention back to your head teacher.

"On Christmas Eve night," she continued, slowly walking in a straight line across the floor. "we and our guests gather in the Great Hall for a night of well-mannered frivolity."

Ginny leaned her head against her shoulder, getting bored. You smiled at the act, deciding to share her enthusiasm by mimicking it.

After a while of being stuck in a singular position you had decided to place your chin on the top of her head instead.

"As representatives of the host school I expect each and every one of you to put your best foot forward, and I mean this literally because the Yule ball is first and foremost..." The dreaded sentence was coming. You could see it in her facial expression. "A dance."

Ginny's head flew up suddenly, banging against yours so hard you had to hold your jaw in pain. "Oh Y/N, I'm so sorry!" she squeaked, palpably petrified with what she has done to her older brother's girlfriend.

"No, no," you waved your hand, testing your jaw by moving it in circular motions. "It's alright Ginny."

"But what if it gives you a bruise?" She asked frightened. "The ball is just around the corner!"

Your eyes widened at that and before you could soothe the girl, Hermione had butted in. "She'll be fine Ginny. Besides, Fred is so smitten by her he genuinely won't care."

"True," you added in agreement, holding your chin after wrapping your free hand around the smaller girl to cheer her up. Ginny calmed down and returned to her bright, usual self soon after.

The quick accident helped you better ignore the agonizing groans of the boys that generously outmatched the giggling. While most of the girls, including yourself, enjoyed the aspect of dancing with a gentleman, the boys didn't like the thought of becoming one so much.

You searched for Fred's eyes the second you could, finding him already looking at you from afar. He was quick in mouthing an 'Are you okay?' and pointing to his own jaw for better explanation.

You nodded but still mouthed an 'ow' for dramatics sake.

Fred knew his little sister's strength, but he also knew your pain tolerance and that made him less concerned. Fred then sent you a wink accompanied by a wicked grin of excitement. Being a couple played in your favor excellently.

Most of the girls feared being partnerless at the ball, so you felt very content with yourself. You secured yourself both an escort and a dance partner by just loving a boy that was able to be serious if you ever asked him to be.

"Silence!" McGonagall raised both her hands in the air, "The house of Godric Gryffindor has commanded the respect of the wizard word for nearly 10 centuries."

She then continued, "I will not have you in the course of a single evening besmirching that name by behaving like a babbling bumbling band of baboons."

"Babbling what now?" You asked in amazement. She was very creative with her words; you give her that.

From the corner of your eye you saw your boyfriend monkeying around with his brother, staying true to his teasing nature by making fun of McGonagall's words.

"Now. To dance is to let the body..." She took a deep breath as she said that, "...breathe. Inside every girl a secret swan slumbers, longing to burst free and take flight."

Fred's younger brother, Ron, decided to take that inspirational moment to comment about Eloise Midgen, a girl that was sitting very close to you, Hermione and Ginny. You shook your head, not liking his comment at all.

McGonagall heard it but finished her sentence nevertheless, saying something about boys having a lion inside of them. "Mr. Weasley."

Ron looked at her through a fringe of red hair, "Yes..."

"Would you join me, please." She was already by his side as she said that.

"I'd dance with that woman anytime." A girl from your year mumbled, creating quite big hysterics of agreement among the girls. You started to laugh, Ron's face and the girls' comments becoming too much for you to handle.

Ron on the other hand sat awkwardly and glanced around the room in which his housemates were all eagerly waiting for his slip, panicked beyond comprehension. Even Harry who had his arm bandaged due to being an actual contestant in the Tournament, eagerly pushed him up with his healthy one.

McGonagall had Ron in her vise hold. The poor boy couldn't go anywhere without making a complete fool of himself. The music started to play, and Fred and George were loving the sight in front of them as they kept throwing in whistles and remarks that made everyone smile. A years' worth of teasing material had just appeared without them doing so much as moving a finger to make it happen.

On the other side of the room, you weren't breathing. Literal tears formed in your eyes when Ginny made a joke on Ron's account.

"Everybody come together! Boys on your feet!"

You had coughed up your laughter immediately, although the giggles seemed to be a permanent thing. You stood to your feet and dashed across the room for Fred after hearing a fifth year tell her friend how she was going to ask him to partner up.

You leaped into his arms, relieved to have snatched him before anyone else could.

"Woah there, love," Fred mused, placing his hand on your waist like Professor McGonagall had instructed. While teasing his younger brother, Fred managed to pick up the essential parts of the dance because he didn't want to tramp all over your feet and have to carry you to Madam Pomfrey. "Thought I'd leave you hanging?"

Although Fred didn't mind hoisting you up into a princess-carry and acting out a heroic save, he was, quite frankly terrified of the wrath you would unleash on him if he was the reason you wouldn't be able to wear your heels to the ball.

"Actually," your laughter broke down as you two started to dance in steady pace around the room. "I didn't want you to partner up with someone else."

Genuine confusion crossed his features after that, "Come again?"

"I heard several girls talk about how they're going to ask you partner up with them," you mumbled just as the tune changed and he swiftly helped you twirl before pulling you back so you were flush against his chest. "Are you sure they weren't talking about George? He actually-"

"Is your name Fred?" You cut him off.

"Yeah..."

You gave him a look that said well-there-you-go.

"If it makes you feel any better," Fred whispered, voice raspy as he gripped your waist and pulled you against him as if you weren't already glued together before. His mouth slowly found its way to your neck and you shivered under the proximity. "I only have eyes for you."

You didn't get to enjoy the moment as you heard Ron scream, his lust for sibling revenge overtaking. "Professor, Fred and Y/N are snogging! It's kind of disgusting, actually!"

"Mr. Weasley! Miss Y/LN!"

"Not again!" Fred and you said simultaneously.

You sat in between Fred and Neville in the great hall, working mostly with Fred on an essay Snape had assigned for you during this study session. You talked quietly with Neville while at it too, sharing deep compassion as you helped answer some questions he had for you about Herbology, keeping professor Sprout out of your mouth as much as possible. You didn't want Snape to find out you were talking about a subject that wasn't his.

Ron's muttering was very much loud as he kept going on about how depressed he was. "Well maybe you should just get yourself a girlfriend then. Like me." Fred whispered proudly, eyeing Snape who was walking around the hall like a soldier.

You mimicked Fred's smirk and turned to Ron, "It's not as easy as it looks."

"Getting a girlfriend, you mean?" Ron said, his face falling into an ever deeper frown when you nodded. "Bloody hell... How is that supposed to help?"

"It isn't," you told him. "Fred's just speaking nonsense. Don't listen to him."

Your boyfriend just grinned, slinging his arm over your shoulder but taking it off as soon as Snape glared at it. You swallowed a bubble of laughter that threatened to slip past your lips.

Out of the blue, George scribbled something on a piece of paper, folding it and throwing it at Ron, apparently not trusting his voice to say whatever he wanted to out loud.

You watched as Ron read it through, turning to your boyfriend, the quill in your hand now long forgotten. "What did George write?"

"Get a move on or all the good ones will have gone." Fred whispered, pressing a kiss to your temple as proof to you that he took no part in that message.

"Good ones..." you muttered mockingly. "Pig."

Fred laughed, stuffing his mouth into the sleeve of his shirt to muffle it. He then turned to his brother and told him what you thought of his message. George leaned behind Fred to scowl at you carefully, so Snape doesn't see.

You both stuck out your tongues to each other like kids at the same time and while you returned straight to work, the younger twin continued to converse with Ron. Eventually George threw a paper ball at Angelina and you watched as the paper ball flew past your eyes, missing you by a millimeter. George had made a good shot as the paper ball bounced off Angelina's body. It urged her to look at George as he acted out the question, "You want to go to the ball with me?"

Angelina nodded, surprising you.

"Seriously?" You asked your close friend.

"What?" She shrugged, "He's cute."

Your raised brow catched Angelina off guard. "And funny..."

"As long as you don't mistake him for Fred," You whispered, "I support it."

Fred chuckled next to you.

"I won't be going alone because believe it or not someone asked me!" Hermione exclaimed, most likely because of Ron. You weren't paying attention to either of them, only starting to do so when Hermione stormed across the hall to Snape and handed him her finished assignment. She turned to grab her things whilst putting Ron in his place. "And I said yes!"

"Please don't tell me Ron asked her to the ball as a last resort," You sighed once Hermione disappeared behind the doors.

"I'm afraid he did, love," Fred answered.

You shook your head at Ron in disappointment, "Fred, did I ever tell you how much I'm grateful for you?"

Fred's smile intensified as he shook his head. "No, I don't think you did."

For that, you listened to your gut and grabbed him by his red Gryffindor tie, pulling him to you until your lips connected. Unfortunately, the kiss lasted for only a second due to Snape crawling around the place like the snake he is, but the brief kiss still left you breathless. Left you wanting more. "Want to get out of here?"

"Mhmm," you said with an eager nod of your head. Your brain was mushed and you only had time to whisper to Neville where he could find the answers about the Bouncing Bulb he's been desperate to find more about before Fred pulled you to your feet and grabbed both your stuff. In return, you collected both Fred and yours assignment and stuffed them into Snape's arms. "Have a lovely day, Professor."

"As I said Ron," Fred said smiling, glancing at you and Snape. "Better go get yourself a girlfriend…before the good ones are taken."

"I think the bloody best one is taken already," Ron mumbled with a pout, every male close to him responding in agreement.

Fred winked at them all, a winning smirk plastered on his face as he grabbed your hand and eagerly pulled you outside to do whatever your hearts desired in that moment.

Haechan - skips lessons to rehearse for the annual school musical. Does GCSE drama, he’s the teachers fav. Really popular with girls but in a best friend way

Doyoung - similar to Haechan and they argue during rehearsal. Always helps the supply teacher when other kids are being loud. He’ll help other students with their work. If he’s helping Haechan he’ll give him the wrong answers on purpose sometimes. Perfect grades 

 Xiaojun - the cute, quiet guy with a nice voice that was in my GCSE music class who always gave off comfy vibes. spends all his time in the spare music classroom where the instruments are kept 

 Lucas, Yangyang, Hendery - roadmen / The Boys

Jisung - not a roadman but he gets mistaken for one because he only wears black Adidas clothes during non uniform days 

Ten - GCSE art and PE student that joins the choir. besties with everyone. Source of all the school gossip. Perfect grades in all language classes. 

Kun - cooking teacher. He has a soft spot for troublesome kids because he believes they can do better 

Jaemin - rarely comes to school but when he does, he naps during class. No one knows anything about him. Rumoured to do drugs but no evidence has been found

Taeyong, Johnny, Yuta -  Cool supply teachers that shared stories with the class if they behaved

Supply teachers that can’t control the class - Shotaro, Sungchan, Taeil 

Jaehyun - handsome transfer student that moved to another school after only one term 

Winwin - the nice guy my friend and I had a crush on (at different times!) before we realised we’re queer 

Renjun - GCSE art student. sits by Ten and / or Kun during dinner when the dreamies are being annoying. Joined the choir because of Haechan with 0 experience and became the schools top singer within a year. 

Chenle - choir + orchestra kid that just messes around with the dreamies during rehearsals / classes but he never gets punished because his grades and performances are perfect. Plus his parents fund the schools concerts

Mark - friends with everyone. He always talks to the person next to him in class even if they’re not friends. Orchestra kid, shitty flute player but everyone likes him too much to mention it. Loves GCSE french and literature

Jungwoo - tall, soft spoken secretary that all the kids adore. ALWAYS looks good in his trousers and tie

Jeno - too nice for British high school
