This beautiful home (yes, I am going to flex bc I built this from scratch. It's recreated from the home in Sims 3) is on Beach Dr. - a mostly commercial strip of bars, a theater, and various cafes.

Francisco Battista lives here. Because of his darker skin tone, features from Sims 3 etc. and his name, I feel like he may have come to Roaring Heights from Old Country, possibly Tartosa or a "Spanish" themed EA creation. Searching for something ... let's get to know him.

I did make one mistake - see if you can spot the wall that I left unpainted lol

His house is really cool. He has this loft-like space on the roof. It's where he assumedly gets away to paint (he's an artist)

This is Francisco Battista. Iconic name. But his 3t2 traits? Not so iconic!!

OOF. Artistic, Technophobe, Kleptomaniac, Loves the Outdoors, and Neurotic.

This is actually literally perfect and actually iconic. And yes, Kleptomaniac is not the best description of someone who steals. But come on, I mean, the term in this world seems to imply that these are Sims who have a severe problem with self-control, not anyone who steals out of need.

So break from reality and enter nonsense land with me, alright?

But if you want to change it to "Swiper", there are ways!!

I can test the Neurotic and Technophobe mods I have been fiddling with.

With these traits, I made Francisco a Knowledge/Fortune Sim.

I made him primarily Knowledge despite being a Kleptomaniac because his Lifetime Want is to Paint a 1,000$ Masterpiece from Lamare's 50 New Lifetime Wants on Mod the Sims.

The way that I play does incorporate Aspiration Benefits because with 3t2 trait mods, certain Sims are able to do the benefit without actually having the benefit (natural cooks can automatically cook Comfort Soup for example)

I also make them much less cheat-y because I keep traits in mind, thus, not every Sim gets every aspiration benefit! Therefore, every Sim's aspiration benefits board will look different, which I think is cool.

For example, when thinking about who Francisco is ... he's Neurotic. So, I am not giving him the "Less Social and Less Comfort" benefit (bottom left)

I AM going to give him "Skilled Negotiator" (leftmost column, third row) because he clearly scored this beautiful home and he is a Kleptomaniac, after all, even though he has only 4,500 Simoleons. Maybe he had lots of moolah, but furnishing the house dipped his funds severely.

He is also Creativity level 10!! And of course, has the Arts hobby as his predestined hobby.

His wants include the want to get a job in the Criminal career, which is perfect. He can do the painting on the side.

Bla, bla, bla, boring morning, Francisco made some tea but as his social need got low, I decided to take him to the "Community Art Gallery" a lot recreated from Sims 3 Roaring Heights. Also on Beach Dr. basically a short walk from Francisco's house.

Bonnie Davis decided to greet him. She is the ‘Bonnie’ from Bonnie and Clyde, another way that EA referenced the early 20th century in Roaring Heights Sims 3.

Let's pickpocket her! Francisco has a want to earn 100 Simoleons.

Well, I sent Francisco upstairs and Alma has left. It's literally only Broke Bonnie.

Ok, Francisco autonomously decided to pickpocket this teenage girl.

And of all the things to accompany this assault on her family's finances, a Good Witch has arrived and is casting rays of sunlight.

I took Francisco outside, down the stairs and out to the front and I guess I wasn't paying attention to just how many Sims have now decided to show up on this lot. Literally everyone and their mother is here now, including the NPC pickpocket.

And I banned all hobbies except for Arts and Film/Lit. with visitor Controller but you see, I didn't take into account that LOTS of Sims in Roaring Heights love Art AND Film and Literature.

And what in the HELL are you doing? This is the poor person's Art gallery. Try the Downtown Museum you psycho!

And because Mother EA doesn't let us have any fun, Francisco can't even pickpocket the pickpocket!

HA Well a Victim has been chosen, and it's none other than Daddy Warbucks. I mean, Unsavory Charlatan, that was a super smart move I take back everything!

Lol, and then four random Sims just idly having conversations not noticing the mugging.

Another thing that I love to do is (when I am on a community lot) make townie Sims or currently unplayable Sims selectable when I feel the moment calls for it.

And *ahem* Olivier Harbucks ... NOT Daddy Warbucks ... just got pickpocketed. And he even has a memory of it already!

Who knows what Francisco is doing, but since I don't feel like Daddy Warbucks would fight the pickpocket, I am going to have him "Report Foul Play" at the phone. Yes, if any Sim is pickpocketed while your selected Sim is on the same community lot, your Sim can Report Foul Play at the phone and the Unsavory Charlatan will leave and won't show up at that same lot for a few days, I think.

Oh my, what is happening here? This is a perfect development. An argument/altercation is starting and Francisco wants to win a fight. Apparently, Frances Picard and Grumpo Marks (clearly parody of Groucho) are fighting!

Makes total sense. All of the Marks brothers in Roaring Heights are super playful. Frances is a serious Bookworm.

Oh and now Grumpo Marks is autonomously nagging us. Great. This is because Grumpo, unsurprisingly, has the Grumpy trait. THIS trait mod unlocks the "Nag" social interaction for Grumpy Sims.

And I also want to show you guys how I handle the Sims 2 trademark issue of time not changing on your home lot. At the art gallery, it was almost 6 pm but clearly, Francisco has arrived home and its still early afternoon/morning. Let's fix that!

Lemme show you a great cheat.

It's the "Set Hour" cheat.

No need for Community Time. No need for Time Sync. No need for anything like that that affects global time.

I just "Set Hour" and the time changes to 5 pm! Magically! now the timing makes sense and I won't be playing Francisco extra hours. That feels cheaty and nonsensical to me.

I also use Merola's Time Control Clock. Yes, you do have to place it on every lot but the ability to manipulate the speed of time flow whenever want is worth it.

so i DID find my most recent just dessert legacy save so that will start back up soon! i did have some things just about ready to post but decided to hold off in case the save was lost lol obviously i still had a back up from when she was a child so worst comes to worse i could have caught back up but i would have been missing the new sims i made and the new house (that i had already rebuilt once since my cat unplugged my pc mid build)

also i did end up starting to write my own challenge and i feel like i did so much yesterday. i might end up making a discord way off into the future if anyone is interested in giving feedback or anything once it is actually more solid and refined a bit. i think i might wait until the life and death pack comes out because im interested to see what could be included in a specific gen that i have in mind. i might ramble some more about it another day but im really excited about it.

not sims related:

the wild robot movie was so good and i cried like 3 different times, i don’t know why i am so emotionally attached to the story (i do know, im mentally ill LOL) but regardless i recommend it.

like a week or so ago i pulled a muscle in my back/shoulder but on friday i tried lifting again and made it wayyyy worse so ive been in so much pain lately, not fun. i am kinda feeling ok right now though as long as im not moving too much

right now as i am typing this im waiting for a video for work to finish exporting so that i can get on the sims but so far its already taken over 2 hours and it has approximately an hour an a half of export time left which i hope is a lie since i need to wake up early tomorrow. i literally just realized its not even 8pm yet but im already exhausted from waking up at 6 this morning and not going back to bed. i just want to play a little bit of sims today since i haven’t at all.

tomorrow morning my boyfriend is taking me to cvs to pick up meds and out to breakfast as long as i am up early enough to do all of that and get back home before my monday morning work meeting 🫠 there is this small local chain coffee shop where i live that has the best breakfast food. they updated their menu u over the summer and added cinnamon bun pancakes and they are incredible so i’m looking forward to it lol

GUYS DONT PRESS P ON THE TITLE SCREEN WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE (Dev log #15)

AT LAST, SUMMER IS HERE!!!!! I am so excited I can finally rest I- oh right. Summer classes. Sigh. Well, they don’t take up the whole day thank god and I don’t need to be there, but It’s still not exciting. Oh well. Maybe I’ll play the sims 4 again and check on how my poor little torture victims are doing/j Jk jk, I don’t torture my sims. Unless you consider naming them things probably EA wouldn't approve of, then yeah I guess I am a horrible person.

But yeah, on the week I released the demo (which by the way, thanks for the 58 views!!!! thas crazy) I was putting up with finals. Some of my classes had to be pushed to the next week, and that was INFURIATING. It was kinda agony because I just wanted everything to be done and over with and I was practically exhausted. Like sleeping at 7 pm exhausted. Yeah......Well, should I even talk about how my life is going? I flunked the review for my major. Thank god, honestly. I mean, I didn't do it on purpose, and I am sad in a way that I flunked it, but I didn't want to continue on the route I was going on. I feel kinda stupid for even trying but I guess it's ok to make mistakes in your early 20's rather than your 30's... for some reason.

Ok, dev time. I decided to take a break from making sprites for a bit. So I worked on a part of the game that I would have left a secret, but I think it’s quite funky hehehe

I like old computers. I would have replicated the windows XP thing because I have so many memories of it, but I'm scared Windows might snipe me or something. I once was lying on the couch my parents turned into a bed (I think I was sick at the time), and it was late at night, and the computer was shutting down (it played this sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gb2jGy76v0Y) and for some reason the noise absolutely scared the absolute living shit out of me (I think I was like 4-5 years old and I was terrified of bassy sounds). I do not remember ever having any positive relationships with computers before I turned 6 lol. I’m pretty sure I used to think I could live without them. Oh you poor bastard. If you saw me now not only would you not understand a single word I’m saying, you would be incredibly disappointed with how dependent I am on computers. I think once I'm done with that I'll try to fix whatever is going on outside scene, because that's the only scene that causes the game to crash. I'm pretty sure it's because there's too many objects, because when I turned off the animations and the visibility it still took forever to load (like, nearly 2 seconds. The scene takes 4 seconds to load, and normally a scene would take me less than a second to load). soooo, uh yeah, I'm trying to find an occlusion culling equivalent to solve this because that's a 3d game thing, and this is a 2d game lol. I'm thinking of turning off visibility for when they're outside the viewing frustrum (player's line of sight, or more like rectangle) because it cuts down half the time for when the scene loads. If nothing works I guess it's just deleting and re-adding the child back into the scene every time the camera is on them... sigh. If it ticks me off too much I'll probably return to doing sprites because there's still a lot to do lol.

Well.... I so far got no other ideas for references in this game, so I guess I'll put in the inspiration of the outro (which is the Portal outro)

I tried singing for the song, but every time I do I make Jojo Siwa sound like a professional vocalist (I don't even know why she still sings. Didn't she bust one of her vocal chords already? Or is that a rumor? Either way that's already gotta be a sign that you probably shouldn't continue on the route you're on.) I literally had 5 attempts on my computer and they all sound horrible. I'm not going to put them on the internet for my sake and your sake too. So yeah, no vocals. But the lyrics will still be there. They won't have the typing effect though.

If you could go anywhere right now, where would you go; why? I’m feeling significantly attached to Bangkok right now because it has been exactly three weeks since we saw Yoongi. Our trip overall was quite short – only four days total – so it only makes the feeling of ‘missing’ Bangkok a lot more intense. I miss the place, I miss their great public transport, I miss the nightlife, but I will say that I do not miss the weather. Remembering how humid it is over there still makes me squirm lol

I don’t want to leave the company, but please give me like 1-2 years before stepping up to the next position. It sounds very bitchy and ungrateful to say on paper, but I’ve been promoted every single year I’ve been in the company and it always comes with a wave of fear and pressure every time. I wish I had longer periods of incubation(??? lol) before getting asked to step up to the next level.

I know tech companies churn out new products at 34788394x speed and in their terms an iPhone 13 can be considered old-ish, but all things considered a 1 year old phone isn’t bad at all. I’m not in a rush to get a new one as mine still works just fine.

Have you ever drank milk when it was spoiled? Ugh, yeah. I remember an instance when I was around 5-6, I drank some Milo that turned out to be spoiled and immediately ran to the sink to frantically spit it out because it tasted horrific. Ever since then I’ve had a fear of drinking milk.

I’m very normal about Kaito, just ignore the two full cosplays + the EVA foam Orbital work in progress I have mapped out, the wall scroll that’s at my work computer, my ita pin bag, and the fact that I’ve done everything I can to make his deck competitive viable and god dammit am I still trying please print this deck a god damn banger starter, Konami, I can’t keep doing this without your help-

Short story but I used to be suuuuper YGO Vrains favoring from 2020 into early 2022, but I found myself drifting from it because one can only tolerate so much subtweeting and catty behavior over personal preferences, and I’d never really finished Zexal before, just has a half baked idea how it ends, like I watched a chunk of it when it first aired but never finished and proceeded to forgot most of it, so I picked it back up after deciding to pick up Kaito to write in an RP server with some friends because I remembered liking him and… well I didn’t stand a chance when I got back to him fjdhdhd

I deeply relate to the theme of self-inflicted loneliness because it’s easier to be by yourself, just getting walked out on, left in the dark, or even being shafted for reasons out of my own control, I really get that

Also taking on too much if it means the people you love will be ok even if the ending result is you’re not ok, where he is after his Duel with Yuma at the end of Zexal I and getting to repair all of those relationships he was damaged by is where I want to get to in life

Bonus fact that’s minor spoilers for another spin off, but I’m… not a huge fan of his portrayal in Arc V, I like that he’s there and acknowledge that it’s a different Kaito and I love all Kaito Tenjos as they exist, including the Structures Cosplayer, but… yeah, not a fan, I’m a big fan of showing vs telling and Arc V to me feels like it’s ALL telling for all of its supporting cast most of the time

Oh my god, the duel I hate the most in all of YGO is Kaito’s duel against Heartland because not letting Kaito win against someone who’s become representative of the garbage he was put through is SO UNSATISFYING

Yuma coming in and finishing it up is symbolic in its own right because of the importance of bonds, but to me that was and always should have been Kaito’s moment, let Yuma and Astral show up literally any other time and I’m fine with it

i just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart that you're releasing your cc for early access but still free. even if it's against the sims 4 guidelines, there are still so many who lock their cc behind paywalls forever. making cc is incredibly time consuming and a skill to perfect, i completely understand. yet, i still cant help but feel a bit disheartened when i see a nice lipgloss but it's been locked since july. i dont pirate the locked cc from shady people either, because that's worse, so ultimately im left... blueballed lol. so thank you for not hopping onto that train.

Thank you so much for those kind words. I understand you and honestly the fact you are saying this, is a huge reward for me. To be pretty honest I am, where I am now thanks to all of you and I will never stop appreciating that. It is always in the corner of my head and I truly want ALL people to enjoy my stuff.

As I said somewhere in past responses, I always rememeber when I was playing the sims and I saw pieces I wanted badly but I couldn't pay them because I had no money and this is not something I want to cause to people who like what I do. I want all of you to be happy with my cc, have fun with it.

so this was. badly summarized and not well said but also hhhng thank you for asking me!!! basically the people in the band play characters who do retellings of stories, and they play characters in the stories. they’re all immortal space pirates and have a mechanical body part which is how they became immortal. they retell the stories like ten times gayer and it’s fantastic anyways.

how do you get your sim’s alien form so similar to their disguise? it’s so annoying how we can’t lock the two like the other occults lol

with difficulty anon,,,, ill do a wee tutorial under the cut n it requires mc command center

^heres my alien sim vs her human disguise, not i can only get this trick to work with everything bUT their clothing so keep that in mind

1. plop them down on any lot, click on the sim (by default they start in alien form), go to MC Command Center then Sim Commands... then Occult Commands... then Disguise Self. This will do the same as just putting ur alien in their disguise but instantaneously rather than waiting for their slow ass to do it

2. Click them again, go to MC Command Center then MC CAS then Copy/Paste... then click Copy for all the options

3. Repeat step 1 to put your sim BACK into their alien form (Remove Disguise).

4. Repeat step 2, but instead of clicking all the options for copy, use the paste options instead!

5. Now I am left with this: All I can suggest from here is modifying them in cas to change the hair and clothes to match. I know its a struggle dshfhds

I’ll be honest that I think the reason I’ve been slowing down is because I have lost interest in my legacy and I feel if I have I know others have. Again, I have put myself in the corner of creating 5 different heirs with different themes and characters and...it’s a lot of work! That word there, work, I don’t like that here.

I remember when I first reset my legacy it was a soft reset, basically a time jump and I still respected the backstories of my previous legacy, hence Dulce, Marta, Telah, Wilfried and his aliens...it’s been a lot juggling around. 

The first reason I moved down to 3 early this year was because as I mentioned before I was planning on doing a fantasy story and this would have given me time to do that, then I gave up on that idea and went back up to 5 and while I love Wilfried and Talla, it’s back at that point where I’m juggling all these stories and I feel each story suffers because of that. 

For example, Delfina’s Winterfest and Pregnancy would have been a bigger deal but I had Dalton’s next episode looming and as I mentioned...it is a hard one to shoot. With everything pointing to a large magical battle and all...so I just like here’s winterfest, here’s a baby, okay lets move on because I know I have to finish this Dalton episode soon.

and I’ve done that before! I mean with Carnage I posed every fight scene and had a battle scene at the end that I was proud of...but it would take a while to do that and while I do that I feel like the other heirs just linger. 

The pacing of my legacy is slow but when you bring it to 5??? I worry I am at a turtle’s pace now! It’s been a year and between 5 heirs one has had a baby!  Sometimes they disappear for more than a month because of rotating them all and bleh...have I learned anything!?

Well, of course I have, but have I applied what I learned?

So, all this to say is that yes, I’m strongly thinking of restarting and this time completely fresh with none of my old sims, all new. 2 heirs and then I could actually have more time to do other stuff without feeling that if I don’t release anything there is no progress. 

Then maybe I could actually work on more story projects? Maybe I could have time to do tags lol? Carnage season 2, which was titled ‘Moon’ and I abandoned that because so much time went into running 5 different legacies...and maybe the fantasy story I’ve been wanting to tell and maybe I’d actually get to releasing poses! I remember one day I watched @whyhellosims go through my old Carnage posts and then message me about  how much they were enjoyed and it just made me so happy! A lot went into that. I’ve had stray thoughts of picking up where that left off...

I don’t know! 

I do know that I always appreciate the support you all give me! I know some are really into the heirs I’ve created and the stories they have, I’d hate to disappoint and end their stories. I know my legacy never has a set ending but if I do I think I’d like to time skip and wrap their stories up someway somehow...

UGH! Another day in this horrendous house! Thank God I'm going out with the gang. Before I could even breathe this morning— My mother Posha was in my room yelling at me. I understand this is my first ever "C" on a test...but girl it's most definitely my last dealing with you. Porsha has always been on my ass for the simplest things. I think I'ma apply for a job at Naura's Family Vet because I'm ready to move out. And my father, you ask? I don't know him and have never met him. I only know he looks just like me and his name is Messer Darling. The fuck type of name is Messer?

(LOL, I thought it said brunch and I'm sorry....but I'm not fixing it!)

Man, why did Aspen ask us to be here so early? I love the twins dearly...but they're doing too much. Yes, the boys are famous because of their ridiculously hot father-- but why they gotta fuck with my sleeping schedule? I don't mean to get off topic but.....

But I mean...just look at their dad... How can a sim be this hot? But like I was saying. We're all gathered at "Sarah's" for brunch. Only for the simple reason that Aspen wanted us all to start hanging out again. I haven't seen the twin since the beginning of school. They were on tour with Mr. Martinez all school year. The funny thing is, Aspen is starting to act and Monroe is more of an influencer and a singer. And they're kinda our glue. The girl sitting next to me...I don't even know her. Jer'isha is their cousin and she's extremely pretty. I remember Micheal liked her...

Then you know...Hot girl summer came......BTW WE'RE NOT DATING! Babes... it's hot girl summer...no, ma'am. You can never take the city out of this girl.

"I really missed you guys." spat from Aspen's mouth as he continued to chow down on his "veggie" burger...btw, ew. "I'm sorry we haven't been here to hang. Promise to not hate us too much."

Here goes Mama Naura. Which brings me to think—she's still crushing on Monroe; someone she's been looking at all day...well, morning. I told her to ask him out before he had left for London last year. But of course--she let her toxic father control her! Hell, just to let her breathe, she spends the night at my house. It's ok though, Ms. Youtuber will be moving out soon. I stared at her and she giggled, "Whatever." she mouthed and I flicked her off. Aspen gasped, which caused us all to laugh. A few minutes later we ate and caught up with one another. Aspen explored his sexuality, Jer'isha is now going to our school and she's moving in with the twins, Monroe sings now, and that's about it. I mean Micheal said something about an early summer fling....but no one knew who he was talking about and I wasn't paying attention. I had just thought about it when Naura texted me about it. I'm not going to bore you with that conversation though. I don't even like Micheal. I just wanted a nut and I dipped. We slutting these boys out all summer. I don't know though, Aspen looks good. He's definitely the cute twin.

"So how does that work Asp? Like are you gay now?" asked a very confused Naura. Please excuse my very ignorant friend. She comes from a very dull household.

Aspen chuckles, "Honestly, I'm just human and living life at this point." When he said that, it confused Naura even more— so he continued to say, "Meaning I'm not living life with labels. I am Aspen Myles Martinez and I plan to live life to the fullest."

LORD, could Aspen be any hotter... Naura was STILL lost so I had to explain, "Basically... it's none of your—OR anyone's business Naura." She got it now, but she's a little hurt. I mean it's not her business to know unless she wants to get in his pants. AND she bet not, that's my twin.

After that nice and friendly exchange. It was time for us to leave. Naura and I have a nail appointment, the twins have an audition, and Micheal is visiting family. We started to say our goodbyes and Monroe pulled me to the side, "Wow, you somehow managed to look even hotter than the last time I saw you." Which left me completely dumbfounded. Before I could retort, Asp had yelled for him, "See you tonight." left Monroe's lips, then he disappeared into the distance.

“I am not sure,” Byakuya said firmly, “about the use of kidou to create artificial barriers during the combat simulation.”

“It’s the same as the cones Vice-Captain always uses, except people won’t jump over them! Sir!”

“Abarai, tell Yuki to use the cones.”

Renji, who had been edging toward the door, sighed. “The kidou are a great idea, sir. And 3rd Seat Yuki did a great job designing the whole course. You’ll have a great time. Ow.”

A stuffed anthropomorphic seaweed had smacked him in the face.

“Waaaaah!”

“Shh, Daddy is talking to Uncle Byakuya,” Renji murmured, jogging his one-year old daughter in his arms, hoping the bouncing would pacify her.

It was Rukia’s first day back at work. It was Rukia’s first half-day back at work. She had been practically gleeful when she arrived at the Squad Six offices to pass off Ichika. Her hair, which was down to her shoulders now, was wrapped up in a tidy little bun, and her eyes were edged with sharp, black liner. Renji did not remember his wife bothering with eyeliner before she had a baby, but he refused to rib her about being excited to be back. Rukia loved her baby, but staying at home didn’t suit her. Renji was honestly looking forward to her getting back to what she loved almost as much as she was.

Renji had a suspicion, which he had voiced to exactly no one, that he was going to enjoy going to part time, which was supposed to have started fifteen minutes ago. It wasn’t that he didn’t like his job. He loved his job. He also loved his daughter and he was really looking forward to spending more time with her. That is, if he could ever manage to get out of his division office.

The office door slid open, and 4th Seat Kuchiki Choei’s head popped in. “Hey Captain-- oh, is Vice-Captain still here? Hey, Vice-Captain! Do we still have that Hollow dummy? The one that looks like a giant spider?”

“It’s in the attic storage of Barracks #2,” Rikichi announced.

“Oh, great, thanks!”

“Wait, what do you want it for?” Renji yelped, as Ichika tugged his bandana down over his eyes.

“Hey, Yuki, am I leading the Red Team or the Blue Team in the combat sim this afternoon?” Choei asked conversationally.

“You’ve got the Blue Team.”

“I thought I was leading the Blue Team,” Byakuya frowned.

“Aah! Aah! Aaaaaaaah!” Ichika sang.

“Which one of us gets the mess hall in our initial territory?”

“The mess hall is neutral, after what happened last time!”

“I think you guys have this under control, I’m just gonna--” Renji attempted to extricate himself.

“Abarai, which team is Yuki usually on?” Byakuya stopped him in his tracks. “I feel like I should get an additional officer to make up for his absence.”

“He’s sitting right there, you could ask him,” Renji pointed out. “Look, it’s one-fifteen, and Ich--”

“I rearranged all the teams,” Rikichi announced. “It’ll be fun.”

“Oooh, who did I get?” Choei asked, striding into the office. “Hey, Ichika!”

Ichika stopped trying to wrench herself out of Renji’s arms for a brief moment in order to wave one chubby hand at Choei, who cheesed back at her.

“How could you rearrange the teams?” Byakuya protested. “Abarai, did you look at his teams? Are they fairly balanced?”

“I didn’t,” Renji admitted. “But what’s the worst that can happen?”

“Da,” Ichika said, patting his face. “Da.”

Eighth Seat Shirogane’s head suddenly popped into the office. “There’s an inspector here from the First? Does anyone know where Vice-Captain left the blueprints for the new barracks? Oh, Vice-Captain, you’re still here!”

“I have them!” Rikichi called. “The inspector was supposed to come at two!”

“The First always calls early,” Byakuya noted, his eyes narrowed. “They hope to catch us unawares.”

“Hey, Captain, I’ll trade you Extra Large Gotou for Taniguchi!”

Renji cringed. He regretted ever telling Choei about Squad 11 nicknames.

“I’m not unawares! I have those blueprints right here!”

“DA-DEE!”

The entire office went dead silent, and five pairs of eyes swiveled over to where Ichika sat tall in her father’s arms, looking very proud of herself. “Daddy!” she announced again, and then jabbed one tiny finger at the doorway, scowling for punctuation.

“Awwww!” Mihane gasped.

“That was so cute,” Choei added.

“Was that…” Byakuya started slowly. “Has she…”

“That was the first time,” Renji managed, his voice going a bit wobbly.

“Good job, Ichika!” Rikichi cheered.

Ichika beamed.

“What are you doing, Lieutenant?” Byakuya barked, suddenly. “You were supposed to be off at one! Begone! Do you think we cannot handle ourselves without your benighted presence?”

“Just gettin’ outta here!” Renji agreed, slinging Ichika’s diaper bag over his shoulder, to a chorus of “See you tomorrow, Vice-Captain!” and “Bye-bye, Ichika!”

“Good job, kid,” Renji congratulated as they stepped out into the mid-day sunshine. “So, what are we gonna do today?”

Ichika regarded him for a moment and declared “Daddy!”

Renji nodded firmly. “You’re in luck. A whole afternoon with Daddy it is.”

Long Awaited Replies

Hello everyone! It’s been awhile since my last activity here. Stuff’s just got real last few months and I am now experiencing some heavy RLS which makes the future of the whole Feverfew project quite uncertain. I’m very annoyed by the fact I have to move the release date over and over again, but, fingers crossed, I’ll be able to manage to make it this year. But before I post any updates, I need to answer my inbox!

Thanks @landgraabsims​! Yes, Feverfew is based on British countryside aesthetics without any towns or villages in particular. It has a bit of everything, really. It’s a fantasy place after all. But I do use a lot of real life references for making landmarks for it.

Depending on the road DR you’re using, there can be some  texture issues here and there since Rural Charm is optimised for road texture without any markings (apart from the broken white line). As for the Iron light post with a banner – no. I’ve only made 2 Maxis’ base game lamp posts.

Oh, that is so kind, Anon. Thank you! Yes, I do love to actually play the game. I enjoy building/decorating lots as much as live mode. In fact, I often get carried away during playtest sessions and just keep playing in lot mode and that’s why there are lots like ‘The Tower Inn’ or ‘The Moose & Beaver’ or sims like Tilda Phidbach, WHT-FC28 servo and their field lab.

Hello Eve! I might be wrong, but isn’t it Mansions & Gardens SP that stands for UC? Anyway, flashing red terrain is really weird consequence for just replacing a txt file. Neighborhood terrain doesn’t have any dynamic light. It has a light map instead which comes with Lighting remedy too. If you only just replace the lighting txt file without putting LR light map into your ‘Downloads’ folder, the only issue you should get would by unsynchronized light directions for hood decos and the terrain itself.

Hello Anon! Basically, there’s only one type of hood deco that isn’t showing up in lot mode and that is neighborhood effects. All the decals, flowers, fields, all the animated stuff (except for texture animation, e.g. Maxis’ marquee sign) is not showing up in lot mode. There’s nothing we can do about it. Yet. If you think that there’s a proper hood deco that isn’t showing up in lot mode, please PM me with some screenshots and we could try to sort it out.

Hello Anon! Oh, you’re most welcome. There is a tedious way to replace a texture on the existing tile of the real road, to make in into intersection so that it would connect better visually with decorative road pieces. But that takes time. What you have to do is to determine the tile you want to edit using technique described in this tutorial and then you have to change the texture name in the corresponding line. The texture names for the intersections (their index name parts) can be found in any road DR beforehand.

Hello Sunrader! That would be really nice addition for the highway set, but I haven’t made it. Thought it’s quite possible to make something similar if you use ‘One side exit piece’ from the motorway set and add some picnic tables, umbrellas and benches using street tables & benches set. There’s also many 4t2 deco conversions for toilets and other small size decos that would help to create a decent resting stop.

Thank you Anon! That’s very kind. I’m not sure if there’s any point in releasing SC4 map I used for Feverfew because it’s completely differs from the way it looks now. The road layout is different, there’s no canal, no islands on the river, hills are different, etc. It has been heavily terraformed and edited during development process. I’d recommend just to wait till the Feverfew neigborhood release.

Hello Anon! Yes, that’s possible, though I can’t say if I could make it myself. What I can say though, is that there’s a linden trees redux coming soon. It would make linden trees look better and highly optimised so that it would only take 4,5 Mb instead of 60 Mb without any losses in texture quality and resolution.

What was the first thing you did after you got up? I rushed to the rooftop so that I could see the sunrise. I also got in the random mood to do a time-lapse of it, but the sun took forrrrrrrr-freaking-ever to come up entirely. I was holding up my phone for like 15 minutes and nothing was happening, so I quit halfway through lol.

What was the name of your first pet? Goldie, because it was a goldfish.

Who was your first big crush? Gabie, I would say.

Where was the first place you drove after you got your license? Chelsea’s 18th birthday dinner was scheduled right after I happened to get my license, and the event took place in a small, quaint little restaurant in Marikina. 

There’s a bit of a funny story here, too – Aaron needed a ride to get there and so I offered to drive him. I picked him up and we were having small talk in the car, and he asked me how long I’ve been driving. I told him that moment was my literal first time driving out and that I just got my license the day before, and he is my first-ever passenger (at that point I’ve never even tried driving solo yet). The horror and immediate distrust on his face was something I will never forget HAHAHA. We got to the place unharmed, but it’s still one of my favorite stories to tell.

I was initially hesitant to show up there and ask for a table for one on a Sunday evening...but it turned out to feel incredibly empowering and freeing. It was definitely awkward at first, but it got a lot easier once I realized literally no one gives a fuck. Or if they did, they didn’t do anything about it and let me mind my own business. That evening was a crucial step in reclaiming my happiness, so I’m glad I made the choice to suck it up and enter the restaurant.

"You've got to be kidding me." Chaeyeon said in disbelief upon arriving early to her 8AM class.

Apparently it had been cancelled for the remainder of the week and she totally forgot about it.

"I really need to pay better attention."

Running a hand through her hair she heard a chuckle from behind her and turned around to see her classmate and friend, Yeonjun, walking up to her with a bubble tea in each hand.

"You're cute."

Chaeyeon made a face upon hearing his compliment.

"I'm not."

"Anyways, good morning." He greeted with a cheery attitude.

Chaeyeon frowned knowing that for her it was not a good morning.

"It's not. Anyways, why are you here?"

"To hang out with you since I knew you forgot that this class was cancelled for the rest of the week."

He grinned as Chaeyeon rolled her eyes.

"Oh wow, the great and mighty Choi Yeonjun gracing me with his royal presence. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness."

Yeonjun's excited expression dampened a bit.

"Gee, thanks, Chae. I was gonna give you this taro milk tea to make you feel better, but instead I'll enjoy it myself."

He smirked as he took a sip out of the purple drink.

"Ah, so delicious."

"Go ahead."

Chaeyeon shrugged as she walked right pass him.

"I'll buy myself something else and kill time before my next class."

Yeonjun followed after her with a pout.

"You do know that the taro was for you, right?"

"I do, but you put your nasty germs on it and so I don't want it."

"But you share things with everyone else though?"

"I know, but you're a different story."

"Then you can have the other one."

He offered her the greenish-brown drink.

"No thanks. I don't really like mint chocolate as bubble tea."

"It's not like I have cooties, Chae."

"Um, Jun, have you forgotten about your fans?"

She shot him a look.

"Because I'm not tryna get killed, which I'm surprised that there is none lurking around sending me death glares."

"Stop. I don't have fans." Yeonjun disagreed as he brushed off the topic.

"Whatever you wanna call them, they won't kill you. You're my friend and I haven't seen them give you any dirty looks."

"One, they're two-faced because when you turn around to look at them their so-called angelic faces appear. Two, I'm a female friend that's closer to you than they'll ever be to which to this day I still don't know how we're friends, honestly. We don't really have that much in common."

"Friends don't always have to have similar interests, Chaeyeon. It's mutual respect and a connection. Anyways, is that supposed to be a good thing or a bad thing?" Yeonjun interjected upon hearing the part about them being friends.

"You can take it however you want."

Chaeyeon chuckled before continuing.

"Anyways, true, but maybe it's because you always copy my homework and sit next to me in class when you can literally sit anywhere else."

"Because you have better handwriting and you don't stare at me constantly."

"I wonder why."

She rolled her eyes before shooting him a look.

"Psh. And here you say they're not your fans."

Serena then took the purple drink from him and took a sip to assure him of their close relationship.

"Thanks though, but you still owe me something to eat from last time."

"Yeah, yeah. I know. You won't stop reminding me. Anyways, forget about them. They're not important."

He dismissed the topic about the fans.

"I'll meet you in the library at our usual spot then, yeah?"

Yeonjun informed her as the two split in different directions. While Chaeyeon was casually making her way up the stairs towards the library she suddenly heard her name being shouted from behind her. Just as she had turned around to see who it was she was suddenly tackled to the ground with the person on top of her while her drink fumbled away from her.

"Smile!"

The male announced happily as he held up his phone with one hand while the other hand held a placard to take a self-portrait of himself and Chaeyeon which she immediately partially blocked her face in time.

"Get off, Sim Jaeyun!"

Chaeyeon tried shoving the friend and classmate of hers off of her.

Jaeyun chuckled nervously as he obeyed while backing away from Chaeyeon with a good amount of space between them as another friend and classmate, Park Jongseong, joined them a moment later while catching his breath.

"Sorry, Chaeyeon. I tried, but once he saw you he ran so fast that I couldn't keep up." Jongseong explained once he caught his breath before a cheeky smile appeared on his face.

"Also, I wanted to see what would happen and the outcome was hilarious."

"You're a brat, Jongseong." Chaeyeon scoffed while fixing herself, but shot the two a friendly look.

"What are you two doing out and about so early in the morning?"

"Trying to complete the scavenger list." Jaehyun answered as he held up his placard.

"I really want this customized leather jacket just for Beta Heta Mu members."

"Of course. You're cute, Jaeyun."

Chaeyeon smiled before her eyes landed on the boba that Yeonjun had given her.

"But you owe me a drink though."

"I will if only..."

"If only what?"

"Basically Jaeyun wants you to help him out with gaining points." Jongseong answered with a blank look.

"That's why he ran so fast to catch you."

"The last time I helped I still didn't get my reward."

Jaeyun nervously rubbed the back of his neck before casting the female a pleading look.

"I will double the reward. Please help me out, Chaeyeon, especially since you're a Nu Tau Zeta member and it'll double or even triple the points."

"Ugh, fine, but I'm only gonna do just like two with you since you tackled me."

She then glared at him.

"You already took one, so you're left with one now."

"Oh, thank you, thank you!" Jaeyun thanked her while wrapping his arms around her in a hug.

"You're the best."

"Yeah, yeah. You're lucky that you're cute. Anyways, just tell me one of them that you need to do."

"I don't get why you put up with it when you know that you don't want to do it." Jongseong stated as Chaeyeon shrugged.

"I dunno. I guess you gotta give good karma to receive good karma."

"Wow. So it's basically for your own selfish gain?"

"Sure, why not? Don't judge me, Jongseong."

"You're cute, Chaeyeon."

He laughed as she narrowed her eyes at Jongseong.

"You want to do a few tasks, too, don't you?"

"Am I that obvious?"

"If there's a customized leather jacket, then yes."

Jongseong laughed with a nod.

"You caught me."

"Anyways, I already did the 'Tackle the opposite gender'. Let's see what else I can do." Jaeyun muttered as he checked his list and marked off the ones that he had already done.

"Oh, how about this one, Chaeyeon?"

Jaeyun showed Chaeyeon one of the tasks as she nodded.

"Sure, Jaeyun."

Jaehun happily got his phone ready to take the picture as Chaeyeon endured Beta Heta Mu's scavenger list for the sake of friendship while partially covering her face since she didn't want to get exposed either. She ended up doing a few more for both Jongseong and Jaeyun. The things she does in wanting to help out friends since the tasks weren't breaking laws or humiliating towards the members or others involved. Something she definitely gave the fraternity credit for. After that the trio bid goodbyes with Chaeyeon picking up her wasted boba drink to toss before making her way inside the library.

Yeonjun entered the quiet area where he and Chaeyeon met often in the library while spotting her sleeping with her arms folded on the table and using them as pillows. He chuckled at the sight while placing a ham and cheese bagel sandwich along with an iced americano by her things. Once he settled in the chair next to her while taking a sip of his own iced americano did Chaeyeon stir awake. She looked over at him sleepily while scrunching her nose at the aroma of the drinks.

"Gah, I hate the smell of coffee."

Yeonjun's eyebrows furrowed.

"I thought you like coffee?"

"I actually don't like coffee at all."

She pushed her coffee away and towards Yeonjun while picking up the bagel to eat.

"Thanks."

He stared at Chaeyeon questioningly in mid-bite of his own ham and cheese bagel sandwich.

"Wait a minute, Chae. Are you telling me that you hate coffee despite me buying it for our study sessions together since we've met?"

"Uh, yeah, basically." Chaeyeon answered with a sheepish laugh.

"Sorry, not sorry?"

"Dude, why didn't you just tell me? You honestly finished it every time or left a little bit and I didn't think anything of it."

"Because you genuinely looked pleased every time you gave it to me. It was cute and I just didn't have it in me to tell you the truth."

"I can't believe you didn't tell me."

"You'll get over it. Anyways, Jun, now you have double the coffee for your day today."

Yeonjun side-eyed her while taking the other drink back and taking a quick sip from it.

"What else are you hiding from me?"

"A lot of things." 

Chaeyeon cast him a secretive smile as she continued eating the bagel. Yeonjun left the subject alone as he brought out his materials to study, a loose piece of paper floated to the ground and Chaeyeon went to retrieve it instead before her friend could. Upon closer inspection she realized that it was the same BHM scavenger list that Jaehyun had.

"I forgot you're a Beta Heta Mu member." Chaeyeon remarked while placing the paper on top of his bag.

"So you're doing this, too?"

"Something like that."

He picked up the paper to scan it.

"I haven't really started, but I don't think I'm gonna do it either."

"Why not?"

"I don't have time. I really need to pass my classes this semester. I barely managed last semester."

"It's easier to do with a friend or two, Yeonjun. The scavenger hunt list, I mean. I'm sure you have some."

Yeonjun rolled his eyes.

"I do, Chaeyeon, but my schedule doesn't correlate well with theirs."

She glanced at him curiously.

"Do you want to complete the list?"

"Well yeah, I do, but I don't have the time to do so."

"What do you get out of this list if you complete the whole thing?"

"Well the points I accumulate will give me entries to the End of the School Year raffle."

"But there's something else that you want, right?"

Yeonjun smiled embarrassed as the thought of what he wanted popped into his head.

"Yeah."

"And that is?"

Chaeyeon tried to get it out of him.

"Tell me and I'll help you."

"You will?" He asked shocked before eyeing her suspiciously.

"Wait, why? You would rather be in bed right now than doing anything really productive."

"I have my moments, Jun, and I feel like doing something productive today besides school stuff at the moment."

"Y'know there's like more than fifty things on that list, right?"

"True, but it's mainly to help out a friend. Also I know that you want this. So what is it?"

"If I complete that list or score the most points out of anyone for that list, then I get to be center for the group photo when school's over."

"That's it?"

"Yeah. Oh and I get to host the final house banquet this school term and the first house banquet next school term."

"Okay, that's good."

Yeonjun looked at his friend unsure.

"Are you sure you want to help me?"

"I mean, not really, but I don't mind helping out others from time to time." 

Chaeyeon shrugged with a small smile.

"Alright, thanks, but I do need a date though for the banquet."

"And I'm sure that won't be a problem."

"Could I ask you in advance since you won't be all..."

"Fangirl mode?"

She cocked a brow as he nodded with a laugh.

"Yeah."

"You're cute, Jun. See, even you're thinking those people are fans now."

Yeonjun rolled his eyes, but looked at her with hopeful eyes despite feeling a bit giddy inside.

"So what do you say? Will you be my date?"

"I'll think about it."

He scoffed at her response as Chaeyeon chuckled.

"Anyways, let's go make you center, Choi Yeonjun, and a banquet host."

After helping Yeonjun complete almost everything listed that she was comfortable with, Chaeyeon went to her last class for the day. Afterwards she had tutoring sessions in the library. Just as the tutoring ended Chaeyeon felt her phone vibrate. She ignored it since it was only a text message, but when it vibrated several more times she went on ahead to check it out while gathering her things and headed out of the library. Chaeyeon received several messages from her sorority's president, Im Jinah, and upon scanning the last one it was informing her to report to the president as soon as possible.

"Hello, Chaeyeon." Jinah greeted her with a smile as she motioned for her to sit.

Chaeyeon noticed the others of her sorority council in the room as she took a seat.

"Take a breath and slowly exhale. It's nothing bad or serious, so don't stress about that." Jinhee, the vice-president, chuckled as the treasurer, Jiyeon, smiled.

"Yeah, it's only to discuss attendance for the social gatherings this school term."

Chaeyeon relaxed and looked at her fellow sisters calmly awaiting permission to speak when prompted to.

"Now, Chaeyeon," Miso, the secretary, began with a gentle look in her direction, "We know you wanna be low- key and we're okay with that."

"Yeah, like super low-key under the radar type." Jinhee added with a laugh before speaking again, "But we definitely would appreciate it more if you attended one more event before the school term ends."

Jiyeon nodded in agreement.

"We acknowledged the fact that you do, do your part as a fellow sister of Nu Tau Zeta and haven't caused us any scandals or embarrassments since being with us."

She then cast a look at her fellow council members.

"Still..." She trailed off as Jinah continued instead.

"As the president of Nu Tau Zeta, I'm ordering you to attend one more social event as per socializing with those around you not in Nu Tau Zeta. Plus, you'll need to stay for more than an hour. Not just make appearances to several attendees and leave soon after."

Jinah smiled as Chaeyeon made a face causing everyone else in the room to laugh.

"You don't have to mingle much, just chill or relax and eat good food. Just stay past an hour and you're set to leave."

Chaeyeon nodded.

"Alright, will do, Jinah."

"Think of it this way, Chaeyeon, by joining a sorority you're committing yourself to a lifetime of network connections."

Miso grinned as Chaeyeon nodded with a smile.

"I know."

"Wonderful. That is all."

Chaeyeon was dismissed and returned to her room for a quick nap.

"Alright, fellas, it's officially midnight and the votes are accounted for and the results are now out!"

Yeonjun and the rest of his brothers awaited the results of the overall winner of Beta Heta Mu's Scavenger Hunt.

"Who will be our number one picture center and banquet host this school term and next school term?!"

Yeonjun anxiously awaited the announcement.

"Number one is..." The member paused for dramatic effect.

"It's Choi Yeonjun with a whopping nine hundred and nine points!"

Everyone congratulated Yeonjun as he was shocked and surprised that he actually won the scavenger hunt. He later learned from his president that Chaeyeon was an elusive member of Nu Tau Zeta and that a majority of the campus forget she's a member. The Nu Tau Zeta's president assisted in adding the sorority into the fraternity's scavenger hunt and was the one to review all the photos to see if any sorority members were featured in any of the pictures. Anyways, Chaeyeon's elusiveness allowed Yeonjun to win. Yeonjun smiled, causing him to think seriously about her.

Chaeyeon's phone buzzed and she reached out to find her phone to silence the call. She almost fell back asleep, but her phone buzzed once more and she silenced it once again without bothering to look at the caller ID again. Chaeyeon sighed when her mobile went off a third time and she repeated the same action as before. She felt it vibrate and dinged a second later to notify her that she now got a message and it repeated three more times and Chaeyeon knew that she wasn't going back to sleep peacefully unless she put it on 'do not disturb' and only set it for alarms instead.

Picking up her phone to do just that, Chaeyeon was surprised that it was already so late and that it was Yeonjun contacting her. He usually just messaged her once or twice. Even then he hardly ever called her unless he needed something. Or wanting to be an annoying brat to bother her, but it didn't happen often. Just as she was about to set her phone to 'do not disturb', Yeonjun's name popped up indicating that he was calling her for a fourth time. Chaeyeon contemplated whether to ignore it or not, but decided to answer the call.

"Hello?"

"Can we meet?" Yeonjun asked her out of the blue.

"Bruh, it's like one in the morning."

"Please, Chaeyeon."

Chaeyeon was about to decline when she heard his next words and reconsidered his suggestion.

"I got your favorite boba."

"I'm listening."

"You're cute. You know that, right, Chae?"

"I'm not, Jun, but whatever."

Yeonjun chuckled before speaking again.

"I also have your favorite snacks. So will you meet with me please?"

Chaeyeon thought about it before speaking a few seconds later.

"Honestly, it's late, Yeonjun, and yesterday's events were super eventful for me. I just kinda wanna sleep before classes start later today."

There was a long pause and Chaeyeon believed he may have hung up on her or she may have dozed off for a bit, but he was still on call with her and she gave him a moment to speak again. Still, Yeonjun didn't speak and she wondered if he had dozed off instead.

"Yeonjun?"

"Hmm?" He hummed a few seconds later.

"Oh, you're still awake."

"Yeah, I'm still awake."

Silence fell between them again until Chaeyeon broke it.

"Do you still wanna meet right now, Jun?"

"Yes, Chae, I do, but I also don't want to trouble you if you don't want to. I know how important sleep is for you."

"True for sleep, but you've already called and messaged me, Yeonjun."

Chaeyeon sat up and ran a hand through her hair slowly.

"Plus, I kinda can't go back to sleep right now."

"I'm sorry, Chae."

She could hear the sincerity in his voice and a small smile graced her lips.

"It's fine, Yeonjun. I'll get ready after you tell me where you wanna meet?"

"Do you remember the place where we met the first time?" Yeonjun asked not hesitating to tell her the meeting point.

Just as Chaeyeon was about to reply she was distracted by the vibration sound and light blinking from her roommate, Nayoung's, phone across the room. She ignored it, replied back to Yeonjun that she did, and hung up.

"Um, is it right here?" Chaeyeon asked herself when she arrived outside the classroom that she had first met Yeonjun.

"Or was it at the library?"

She second guessed herself upon not exactly remembering which location it was that they had met first.

"Shit. I should've just asked him."

"You're cute."

She heard from behind and languidly turned to face Yeonjun.

"You know, Chaeyeon, if we were together, I would have to set your alarms for all of our anniversaries and add in notes of our special places." Yeonjun responded while appearing from around the corner of the building holding a bag of snacks and two bubble tea drinks in hand.

Chaeyeon laughed with a shrug.

"Luckily we aren't, huh? I'll be a lost cause if anyone was in a relationship with me." She admitted taking her boba from him along with the bag.

"Thank you, Jun."

"You're welcome, and you're not a lost cause, Chae, just forgetful. Super forgetful and clumsy. It's cute."

"True, but not the cute part."

The two began roaming the campus aimlessly.

"Anyways, why do you wanna meet so randomly?"

She nudged him after taking a sip of her bubble tea.

"Oh, did you win the list thing and now you're center and host?"

"Yeah. It's all thanks to you."

"I helped a little. It was all you, Yeonjun."

"Actually, I only won in the end because you were a Nu Tau Zeta member that helped double my points along with gaining secret bonus points."

"Ah, so now you know I'm part of a sorority."

He smiled, but was still left wondering what other things she kept hidden in general.

"I know it's none of my business, but I feel like there's a lot of things I still don't know about you."

"But isn't that better though?" Chaeyeon remarked not looking at him.

"The less you know, the less you are aware of things."

"Why do I have a feeling that there's another meaning to those words when its coming from you, Chae?"

Yeonjun looked at her with a curious look just as she turned to face him with a small smile.

"You're thinking too much, Yeonjun."

"I don't think I am. I feel like you've been hiding yourself from me or at least trying to keep yourself distant for some reason."

"Is that a bad thing?"

"No, but I would like to get to know you better."

"Isn't what we have good enough?"

"But what if I want more?"

Chayeon stopped walking with Yeonjun doing the same and they faced one another while she cast him a curious yet cautious glance.

"Why?"

"Why what?" He asked, confused.

"Why do you want more? Why do you wanna get to know me better? Why are you suddenly interested in my life? Why?"

"Would you believe me if I told you that I have feelings for you?" Yeonjun answered with his own question instead.

"Are you being serious right now?"

"Yes, I am."

"Choi Yeonjun." Chaeyeon used his full name as a warning while Yeonjun did the same thing to mess with her.

"Lim Chaeyeon."

She narrowed her eyes at him with him shooting her a playful one.

"Out of all the girls and maybe guys in this school and your life, why me?"

"Honestly, I don't know, but here we are and all I know is that I like you and I would like to take our relationship to the next level."

"You do know that if we don't work out our friendship is ruined, right?"

"Chaeyeon, meeting you was fate. Becoming your friend was a choice, but falling in love with you was beyond my control."

"Gosh, you're such a dork. I can't believe you would use that on me." 

Chaeyeon playfully punched his shoulder when she heard those words fall out of his mouth with Yeonjun laughing sheepishly.

"Okay, maybe I picked up a few things, but I really do mean them."

"Seriously though, love is a little too strong right now. We're just gonna go with like, okay?"

"So does that mean you also like me, too?"

"Well, I never actually thought about it beyond that or anything." Chaeyeon coyly responded as Yeonjun rolled his eyes knowingly.

"Nayoung was right. You really do like playing hard to get."

"I do not."

She then narrowed her eyes at him.

"You should not listen to Nayoung. She likes messing with me."

"Oh, yeah?" He answered with a mischievous glint in his eyes as he neared her and brought his face closer to Chaeyeon's.

"I started noticing all of your little signs yesterday that Nayoung pointed out to me when she told me, but thought it was just your introverted self at work."

He smiled wider.

"But now I'm beginning to think otherwise."

Chaeyeon slightly pushed him away while taking a step back herself to put some distance between them.

"Whatever, Yeonjun. Is this the only reason you asked me to meet you at one in the morning so you can clarify my feelings for you?"

"Partially." He answered with a chuckle before continuing.

"But I was hoping you'll actually say yes in being my date for the banquet."

"What if your fans kill me when they find out about us or whatever. I'ma die at the hands of some stupid girls that only like you superficially."

Yeonjun started laughing and Chaeyeon punched him again.

"Seriously, Yeonjun, it's not a laughing matter. I'm being serious about my future life here if we actually get together."

"I know, Chae, I know."

He calmed down from laughing before reaching a hand out to pull her body against his.

"And I'll be here to protect you."

"Couldn't you've just said that without pulling me against you?" She asked him while becoming aware of their close proximity.

"No, then I wouldn't be able to do this easily."

"Do w-"

Yeonjun pressed his lips against Chaeyeon's, silencing her in mid-sentence. When he pulled away, breaking the kiss, her first response was to slap his chest after regaining her senses back and he laughed.

"I can't believe Nayoung basically told you about my kissing preferences." Chaeyeon stated while feeling all sorts of emotions building up inside her and she didn't know which one to express more.

"Well she did tell me that I would have to make the first move since you would continue to run away from it."

"Of course she would."

"Anyways, now that I got the elusive Lim Chaeyeon to myself, you think she'll open up to me more now?"

"I dunno. She has a mind of her own, but I'll ask and get back to you as soon as possible on what she says."

Chaeyeon smiled after calming down the feelings inside of her.

"Although she does say and think that you're cute though."

Yeonjun gave her a look and she giggled at his reaction while hooking their arms together and leading them to walk aimlessly once more in a random direction after taking another sip of her bubble tea drink.

"C'mon. Let's just take it slow for now. It's too early to process all of this. We can deal with this when it's later in the afternoon or something."

"How about an official date?"

Yeonjun offered as Chaeyeon side-eyed him with a playful smile gracing her lips.

"How about no?"

"I respect your decision, but you're really not making this easier to take it a step further."

Chaeyeon chuckled as she took a sip. Yeonjun still didn't give up.

"I'll show you that it'll be worth it in the end, Chaeyeon."

"Okay, Yeonjun, and I'll try my best to be more open with you as best as I can."

"It's a start."

Yeonjun grinned happily as Chaeyeon smiled with a shake of her head.

"Yeah, it is."

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic - Early Access CAS Review

Huge thank you to the EA Game Changer Program for providing me with the opportunity to play the Realm of Magic Game Pack early!

I have been quietly hoping for a long time that we would get some kind of Makin’ Magic style pack, so needless to say I was VERY happy when Realm of Magic was announced. I was even happier when the Gurus started “leaking” gameplay images, and completely ecstatic when the trailer came out! So you can imagine how psyched I was when we were given our early access codes and I could finally get in and look everything!

You all know by now how this works, right? If I like something, I generally can’t think of much else to say besides screaming at the top of my lungs “OMG I LOVE IT!”, and if I don’t like something I will straight up tell you guys and explain why... Yeh I’m looking at you Moschino reviews. So with this pack, there are a couple things I had issues with (not as many as Moschino lol) so if you don’t want to hear my nitpicky opinions about those things you can just skip straight to the "The Verdict” section at the bottom of each review.

As per usual, I’ll be posting both CAS and Build/Buy reviews, but instead of a gameplay review (because let’s face it, I never seem to be able to get around to that damn thing lol) this time around I’m going to be posting a short gameplay “story” instead, and will be voicing my opinions about certain things on the posts as it goes along. The gameplay won’t be all posted before the pack releases though, so...

I’m still a little uncertain how I feel about CAS as a whole. It has a lot of great stuff and it’s definitely worth having in my game, but it also has quite a few things I don’t like, things that (in my opinion) should have been included that weren’t, and the usual issues with some of the meshes/textures that continue to happen with every new pack. 

✨The Hair

For some reason I was expecting more than five hairs? I don’t know why, but based on the trailers this pack seemed like it was going to have a lot more content than any other Game Pack, and it does to a certain degree... just not hairs; there are only five of them. Because let’s be honest, there might be six hairs in the catalogue, but they’re are only five new hairs... and one identical hair with coloured streaks.

Probably a completely unpopular opinion but I’m not a fan of this new trend of getting extra hairs with ombre and streaked textures, I’d rather leave that up to CC makers and have the Sims team work on more new meshes.

Which brings me to the only real issue I have with the hairs in this pack. The streaked version of the long braided hair is really weirdly textured in my opinion. The streaks start right at the hairline and haven’t been feathered/blended out into the rest of the hair very well so it kind of looks like when I accidentally add one of my accessory overlays to a hair it doesn’t belong on LOL

✨The Clothing

The clothing in this pack falls into two categories; Netflix Sabrina and Hand-me-down Winter Harry Potter. Normally that wouldn’t bother me, and in this case the clothing is really well made and looks great, but I do find myself a little disappointed by the lack of what I call “Comfy Casual” clothing.

This could be entirely just a me thing but much like me in real life, my sims rarely leave their homes, and I dunno how you live your life but I don’t walk around my home in fancy button-down shirts and dress pants and shoes. I wear leggings, a hoodie and slippers; and that’s provided I even bother to get out of my PJs that morning! I keep waiting for more comfy casual clothing to be added so my sims don’t have to get all dressed up just to sit around and play video games or finish off that novel they were writing.

But with the exception of a few things in this pack, everything is either ripped, leather, mesh, buckles, collars, or corsets. Which works really well with the whole magical theme of the pack, but spellcasters deserve to be comfy too! That’s not to say the clothes we got aren’t amazing though, they definitely are and I will definitely get a lot of use out of them!   

But we all know I mostly talk about the issues I have in these reviews so let’s move on to them properly shall we?

Let’s go from left to right, starting with the drop-crotch pants. This one is quick and simple: can we all just agree that this is not a good look and move on please? It was bad enough in the 90s, we don’t need to be over here in 2019 looking like we’re wearing diapers, thanks.

Oh, key necklace... I was really looking forward to using you. Sadly, unless my sims have literally the smallest possible breasts hanging all the way down to their knees, you look like someone threw you in a fireplace to melt a while 😭

The yellow dress is another classic example of “Instagram vs Reality” meme that tends to happen with every pack. The dress looked really good in the trailers and promo images, but sadly looks butt in game.

The leather bodysuit is cool, huh? Yep, it’s definitely cool. The mesh looks good, the texture is really well done... oh what’s that? You want to wear leggings under it? Well you can’t, sorry. No leggings at all can be used with this bodysuit.

Up next we have the... ahem, Slave Bracelet. I promise you I tried to find a better name but this is the name it usually goes by and the only other one I could find, Harem Bracelet, wasn’t much better 😬 Not the point though! This bracelet/wrist cuff has some weird things happen when you pair it with an outfit that shouldn’t technically allow the bracelet to show up underneath it. As you can see in the example on the far left, with some long tees it doesn’t show the bracelet but still shows the specular for it, and in the image on the far right, with other long tops it kind of merges with mesh and flattens itself on top of them.

Next is one of my pet peeves with quite a few of the clothes in this pack; the addition of gloves, scarfs and other accessories to the outfit/top that should have either been made into their own separate meshes, or left out completely. That top in the image would have been really nice to wear during all seasons, but because of the gloves, it now only makes sense in the colder months.

Then we have the new makeup options, which I know isn’t clothing but shhh lol. It’s EA makeup... do I really need to say more? It probably wouldn’t look as bad if it weren’t so pixelated but whoever is in charge of creating makeup looks for this game needs to get in touch with @crypticsim ASAP ‘cause OOF!

And the last of the pics is something that has constantly bugged me about a lot of meshes in this game, all the way back to base game; why do they change the shape of my sims like that!? Like look at this comparison of my model sim with and without the outfit... WHY!? HOW!? WHY!?

Lastly... This is probably the biggest disappointment with this pack for me and I just don’t even know how to begin to describe how annoyed I am that ONCE AGAIN there is nothing for kids and toddlers. Zero. Zip. Nada. Not a damn thing. That’s two packs in a row with no new content for any sims under teen age and I just don’t get it. Moschino actually make kids and baby clothing! And with this pack, Gurus specifically mentioned that there was a special trait for sims who were born into spellcaster families...

SO WHY NO KIDS/TODDLER STUFF!? 😡

✨The Verdict

I know this all probably came off as sounding really negative, but as I said at the start, when I don’t like something I have a lot to say about it. But I do genuinely love the clothing, it fits the theme of the pack really well and most of it looks great. I just wish a little bit more attention had been paid to certain things, that there was more comfy casual stuff, and that kids and toddlers weren’t once again neglected.
