Finarfin Fades.

No one expects it, no one’s faded in Valinor since Miriel. The War of Wrath is won and he comes back, waving off the courtiers, well wishers, and congratulators with his usual grace, and walks into the palace of Tirion. To rooms abandoned since their owners left so long ago. Winding deeper and deeper his feet take him to what was once Finwë’s favourite garden.

He’s so tired.

He’s fulfilled his promise to Fëanaro and Nolofinwë, to avenge them. To make the agony of their final moments - agony Finarfin felt, falling to the floor screaming as fire and darkness consumed his spirit - count for something. Now Morgoth is finally gone, but he’s not the only one.

His brothers, larger than life, larger than death, are gone. With them his sons. Niece. Nephews. Grandchildren. His daughter is never to return. He Saw little Nelyo’s death in his dreams and is sure hopes for the child’s own sake that Makalaurë will be close behind.

Little remains. Even less on these golden shores.

So Finarfin sits on a bench long overgrown with vines and weeds, and watches the sun filter through the thicket, wishing the ghosts he sees in his father’s garden would flesh out.

He sits. He waits.

And by the time anyone finds him, it’s too late.

…at least he’s smiling again.

BUT IM JUST THINKING ABOUT IN THE MOMENT OF IT ALL bc in the same chapter #ww asks for a chance for tomorrow and then gets news of earth ships coming. in this same arc vash is thinking of all the things he needs to #resolve so his home doesn't get attacked so the people he love doesn't have to die and the humans he wants to protect gets to live.#i feel like deep down they both semi-recognize that it can't be this easy and regardless of earth ships coming- there's still a wait for #them to arrive and they have to hold out. and regardless ww still has a mission to follow through and vash knows knives would find out #but in that mood of celebration the entire ship brought in - they can at least let themselves relax for a moment and indulge #how they basically engaged with no violence for the few days they were on that ship coaxing them into domesticity... i feel like their #thoughts would wander to somewhere soft and all #allowing them to push aside the tiptoeing and tenseness and be sweet for a night #ruporas art

#NEW YEAR NEW ME!!#finally getting back into the hobby again!!!!!#this is a 20 gallon work in progress while I wait for my other red plants to arrive.#the ones in the pot aren't part of the design--they're just in there for thenstarter culture[bacteria] and so that they don't die.#The idea is a red scape with green fish!#stocking will be a school of kubotai rasboras and an alien green betta #because I have wanted an alien green for years now!#ideally will have some red crypts and red tiger lotus #I would love red root floaters but I have literally never seen them in thailand so I think maybe they're not allowed here...#anyways just put this together today...will add to it as the items arrive.#deep substrate low maitenence...with red plants...#might mature real poorly...but I am willing to try and see how it looks!

Speaking as someone who was constantly late to school, I think punishing kids/teens for being late to school is stupid. Like, I get it. When they’re older, they can’t be late to work and stuff and they need to understand that. But majority of kids/teens are getting to school via their parents or someone else driving them or hell the school bus which is also driven by an adult. So when a kid arrives late and gets punished for it, all that’s happening is a child getting punished because the adult responsible for getting them there on time wasn’t successful. That’s not teaching the kid anything, that’s just annoying. Especially when, as a kid I was always ready on time and it was my parents I was waiting on and then in detention I’d be expected to write down a “what will I do better” that didn’t apply to me because I didn’t do anything wrong

I get that sometimes it will be the kids fault but I feel like those cases are few and far between and punishing a kid for the adults in their life is just counterproductive

#I literally tried explaining this to my teacher in high school that I’m always ready on time I’m just waiting for my parent to be ready #and that bitch got so patronising and tried blaming me even tho I was telling the truth #like got this condescending smile and was like ‘if I phone your mam up will she say the same?’ and I just looked at her and was like ‘yeah😑#that meeting wasn’t even about me being late btw. it was about me struggling with anxiety. but she decided to make it about that #for literally no reason #and for reference now that I’m at uni I always arrive to all my classes on time #frankly I have such bad anxiety about arriving late that I get there half an hour early #education system #school system #british school #middle school #high school

yesterday was the 15th anniversary of me officially being in the fandom!

#kuroshitsuji #also on a slightly more interesting note #I was supposed to be home from Japan on January 3rd but literally just returned a few hours ago #while waiting for our original flight to board I nearly passed out and had to be taken to the clinic for an IV #(it was a mixture of stress / exhaustion / dehydration / period arriving a full week early for some reason??)#my sister stayed in the country with me and a long string of bad luck kept us there until Tuesday #we've been traveling for over 24 hours. not counting the cancellation of our Monday flight home. yes it has been a total nightmare!#I felt pretty weak for a while so it was good to have extra time to rest #but I'm so lucky my job is really low maintenance and that my sister's boss is nice because we both had to miss three days of work #and I'm glad I can work from home because the time change is going to take a while to reacclimate towards #anyway. what a relief to be home at last! I missed my cat so much

Raaaaaaghhh my preorder is pre no moreeeeeee!! I've been waiting for this for almost a year now yippiiiiii (my wallet hasn't tho (+ i have the hospital towa preordered now as well, i hate this game /affectionate))

Tried taking some "cOoL PeRsPeCtiVe" photos (the figure was kind of a pain to set up tho, so I didn't try out different variants after assembling it once)

Here's a close-up and the face variants (I was kinda surprised that they did the right eye differently for these (especially since it barely shows from underneath the emo hair), not complaining tho (I'm glad to have a good clear ref of the eye))

My Hisoka noodle stopper fig finally has a toilet-buddy (my sense of humor is really nuanced and intellectual btw) ("this could be us, but I'm a shy pooper")

And here I just felt his left hand was looking a bit empty (I realized that the L is facing the wrong way only AFTER taking the picture but I think it's funnier this way (I'm too lazy to fix it))
